I just 'smudged' it very slightly on the left side so it didn't look jagged and rough. Dee Posted February 27, 2014 Report Share Posted February 27, 2014 Rory cmon man. The dude in the original pic is looking to the left(ish) and the face you slapped on is looking to the right. Also the shadows are coming from different directions which makes it even weirder looking. That just doesnt work. Flip the background pic around horizonally and you might get it work, maybe. My tip to you all is to not get too complicated with the avatars you're designing. Keep it simple and if you absolutely have to use some intricate base art try to find a picture where the person is looking as directly as possible to make the editing easier for you. First I cut out the head from the original picture. Then I googled "BJJ gi" and found out a picture which looked like it would sit nicely with the head. Adjusted the size of the gi carefully and slapped it on there. Then I fiddled around with the shadows a little bit, added some stuff. Thirdly I went back to google images and looked for a mma gym or bjj gym picture with domensions that would work with my picture (so that it looks like he actually stands in the gym).
