thegroovemonkey
depends completely on the answer to my question. Was thinking either Ground specialist or physicals/sparing mass gym and hire a load of fitness coaches. Really depends on the budget I'd have available. Don't hire elite coaches, this can't be stressed enough. Most guys are low skilled and filling out holes in the secondaries will only really need like supurb and remarkable coaches for a lot of fighters to get max benefit. Was going to go with 100 tops but as I said, need to know the budget first of all and also what others start up gyms too,

cegalacio
I suggest that the Island S3 become an all 18 season. So that the fighters still have a long way to go after the end of the season.

I'd be down, but that comes at the hands of all the managers playing Edit: after thinking about it, i'd rather have more skills to be more diverse to start off with
JoeLang
http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14046526106802.jpg James "Sully" McGuiness (237725) I was 20 when i went to The Island... Why the feck would you send an 18 year old there???? That just isn't right, lads!! (The views of "Sully" McGuiness do not necessarily reflect those of his manager who thinks it is a great idea to have an 18 year old on The Island Season 3)
TheDude
I think 25 is the way to go, for the island. Last season I spent too many points on escapes for a boxer that could have used those points on other skills, lost many training session trying to undo the error, and still could somehow compete. Scooby
I built Useless kicks and takedowns to Strong and GNP to mediocre so next time maybe i can use less secondaries as far as training
skull
I didnt train any secondaries at all during the whole season, only sparring and circuit training.

Guest
Me too, and my guys finished basically 50:50 on win:loss, but it worked fine for me in the 1st season. The Island is all about hiddens. Sure training and strategy helps but it's raw potential that is most useful in such a short period of time with frequent fights.

Yeah i agree, I had a fighter that i let go that was built exactly the same as Bruce Lee. He was stupid i guess cuz i got a message about him stubbing his toe, but he would get taken down like it was nothin.
Scooby
My guy had horrible hiddens except KO power, he fought a few crappy builds and learned a bit of versatility, he had no defensive grappling, only went to the ground when i needed to
Kronix
How you spend points goes a long way on the island. Imo the hidden statement is not entirely true. They will have an effect but not as much as off the island. If you are unlucky and get the worst hidden draw ever than yes it mathers a lot but i would say that the island is more forgiving. A fighter with average hiddens or close too can win the entire season, that is not possible off the island in the upper echelon were hiddens are everything. If you get lucky and get a fast learner then you will have a hugh advantage because you'll be able to thighten some holes and have a fighting chance of surviving in that scenario. But ticking that hidden box is a gamble and i rather throw the dice on that hidden and select something more important.
Scooby
If you guys didnt know, i put BEEF up for sale and the motion should be done soon, I have decided that for all of our island season to be a little more fun, i will open up a KT org that way 25ers will be worth keeping after the island especially if mike makes a kt tournament at season end. I would like to hear your thoughts... (even though i might ignore them lol) -Tycoon's first KT in a CAGE (Better have clinchwork because theres no "reposition" coming) -2x10 min rounds with whole fight judging (nearly PRIDE rules minus soccer kicks) -3x10 min rounds for title bouts Im not sure what weightclasses i will hold, but i was considering making a 18YO only division so it will be fair game although that would provide minimal difference between fighters

skull
I like this idea a lot. As for the weight class for it, I think it should be 185 or lower to avoid body shot spamming. Plus with guys having a lil less power would make for better fights

I think it should be 135 so we can populate that weight class a bit, but defo below
