arlenbalesmma
Ive covered this before. The ali act has nothing to do with mma. The UFC is not in violation of the ali act. Just like a boxing bout has nothing to do with mma.
JLP
Just like a boxing bout has nothing to do with mma. McGregor has a contract forbidding him from taking boxing matches. So it kind of does.
arlenbalesmma
McGregor has a contract forbidding him from taking boxing matches. So it kind of does. Â Doesn't matter. He's a licensed boxer and under the Ali act no licensed boxer can be prevented by any promotion from fighting another licensed boxer. The boxer must be promoted by that promotion, but a promotion cannot prevent the fight. It's as plain as day. In federal law. You're just an idiot. JLP
Coming from the clown that is arguing against a federal law coming from the clown who's initial argument is that Irish law would supersede US law. Â Now your whole argument is an already debunked misinterpretation of the ali act (US law).

Mentor
Fuck, the Max vs Khabib fight is also cancelled and if Al wins the fight is it is not guaranteed he will win the title. Either way this was a shitty week for MMA.

MasterLeader
JLP & Arlen - youre both wrong - Jon Jones is the greatest 155lber to grace the planet. Sorry big ken. I realized halfway through that you would have that problem, but I couldnt help myself. Here's a guy who reads a sherdog forum post and then the wikipedia page on the ali act and now thinks he knows better then three teams of very expensive lawyers (UFC, McGregor and Mayweather all had lawyers go over the issue).

Rambo
Sorry big ken. I realized halfway through that you would have that problem, but I couldnt help myself. Here's a guy who reads a sherdog forum post and then the wikipedia page on the ali act and now thinks he knows better then three teams of very expensive lawyers (UFC, McGregor and Mayweather all had lawyers go over the issue). Â Â ... Conor went the route he did to avoid violating his MMA UFC contract ... Â Â but that wouldn't have prevented him from boxing... and it still won't. He might violate some clauses or terms in his UFC MMA contract, but he could still box professionally and there's nothing the UFC could actually do to prevent it. But he still would be violating his MMA contract to do so, but I'm not sure how their lawsuit or legal procedure would work in that type of situation. Â still, absolutely nothing truly preventing him from professional boxing. Which is why he has mentioned numerous times he might stick with boxing. Dana and company have no say in that. They can just go after him over their MMA contract but it won't prevent professional boxing fights. Idk how the legal battle would play out but I don't think they'd win. Â Â idk if you were trolling him or just reiterating your point over and over to avoid admitting you were wrong about his UFC contract preventing him from ever taking boxing matches without their permission. Â I imagine it would go something like this... Â Conor books a fight. Â UFC sues for breach of contract... Â Conor's legal team enacts the Ali Act and pretty sure the UFC's 'exclusive rights to promote' contractual obligations would get overruled in federal court. Â and Conor would burn the bridge with the UFC but would be boxing professionally. Â Â Â Â Conor McGregor vs Khabib "The Eagle" Nurmagomedov Rose "Thug" Namajunas vs Conor McGregor Renato Moicano vs Conor McGregor Conor McGregor vs Kyle "Crash" Bochniak Conor McGregor vs "Chris "Gritz" Gruetzmacher FS1 Prelims Conor McGregor vs Felice "Lil Bulldog" Herrig Bec "Rowdy" Rawlings vs Conor McGregor Conor McGregor vs Olivier "The Quebec Kid" Aubin-Mercier Conor McGregor vs Michael Rodriquez
