[Main Card]

(Light-Heavyweight Division) Suzuki Sakurai (1-1) versus Over Power (2-2)

Suzuki Sakurai is a Muay Thai stylist from Tokyo, Japan. This promotional newcomer has competed twice within the QFC arena where he scored one victory and suffered one defeat. In his MMA debut he was paired up with Greco Roman stylist John Anderson that stopped Sakurai due to the severity of a cut suffered via dirty boxing. In his second pro fight, Sakurai faced winless Muay Thai stylist Bill Blatt. Sakurai dominated this fight en route to stopping Blatt with power punches against the cage.

Over Power is a Greco Roman wrestling stylist with all four of his pro MMA bouts taking place within the UFC arena. He made his fighting debut at UnderGround FC 1 where he faced power wrestler Lee Brown. Power gave up an early takedown to Brown who landed short range punches before scoring a fight ending kimura midway through the opening round. Next Power faced boxer-grappler Don Vigo who quickly wilted in the clinch. Power faced BJJ black belt Spanky Loco next, but Loco proved to be too much, knocking Power out with a brutal head kick.

Most recently, Over Power faced blue belt brawler Milos Petrasek where he would go on to drop Petrasek three times in the opening round before knocking him out cold.

In this fight we have a man that hates clinch fighting against a power clinch fighter. I expect Over Power to live up to his name here.

(Featherweight Division) Shiro Tanaka (3-1) versus John Michael Benitoy (2-1)

Hailing from Kanazawa, Japan, Shiro Tanaka is the former UnderGround Fight Club featherweight champion of the world. As a champion he recorded a successful title defense, which is a feat in this young promotion. He is a Muay Thai kickboxer and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt. All four of his professional bouts have taken place in the UFC cage.

He made his professional debut at UnderGround FC 1 where he faced BJJ blue belt Ho Hek. Tanaka dominated the fight from inside the clinch from the early goings, battering Hek with short punches against the cage. When Hek scored a takedown into guard, Tanaka quickly locked in a fight ending guillotine choke. Next Tanaka faced BJJ brown belt Jay Brown for the inaugural featherweight championship. Tanaka managed to survive the few bouts of grappling against Brown and go on to dominate in the clinch, awarding him the decision and the title. Tanaka made a successful title defense against undefeated BJJ blue belt Roman Bell.

In his most recent bout, Shiro Tanaka made an unsuccessful title defense against heavy handed kickboxer Reginald Budgiehandler. The entirety of the fight took place in the clinch with both fighters landing shots against the cage. After getting the better of the clinch fighting, Budgiehandler dropped Tanaka with a big right hand and then stopped him on another shot.

John Michael Benitoy is a Filipino wrestling stylist with a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt. Undefeated throughout his brief tenure within the QFC arena, Benitoy promises to be a powerhouse within the UFC featherweight division.

John made his MMA debut in the QFC where he faced BJJ practitioner Hamish Davies. The opening two rounds of the fight saw Benitoy playing a little game that I call “catch and release”: you obtain the clinch position and give it up. You score a takedown and then stand up. It isn't a good strategy in most cases but it happens frequently. Regardless of the validity of his game plan, Benitoy stopped Davies with ground and pound in the third round. Next he faced Hans Christian Anderson, a Muay Thai practitioner from Denmark. The game plan from Benitoy felt a bit more refined as he would obtain a position and stick with it. After attempting a pair of submissions in the second round, Benitoy stopped Anderson with heavy ground n pound from guard.

In his most recent bout, John Benitoy faced undefeated boxing juggernaut Joe Smith at UFC WNF 2. Unlike previous opponents, Smith was able to score an immediate standup and begin landing heavy punches from the outside. Each time that Benitoy attempted to close the distance between them, Smith would make him pay with a furious barrage of heavy leather. Benitoy nearly went down on a counter right hand but managed to stay on his feet for another minute before dropping to a relentless series of punches against the cage.

In this fight we have the striking and submission prowess of Shiro Tanaka against the power wrestling of Benitoy. Tanaka's big weakness seems to be his wrestling ability which is where Benitoy shines, but Tanaka is dangerous on the ground as well. If I had to pick one I would give a slight edge to Tanaka but that's assuming that he can submit Benitoy before the elbows start dropping on him.

(Middleweight Division) Yewis Mybitch (8-4) versus Rory Andler (2-1)

Yewis Mybitch is a hard hitting brawler with a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. A veteran of twelve pro fights, Mybitch has fought all but two of his bouts within the QFC arena. Yewis defeated his first three opponents from inside the clinch, stopping his foes against the cage with heavy punches. In his fourth fight, his opponent Darnell Jackson managed to stay on the outside to avoid clinching. It was no big problem for Mybitch, who stopped Jackson with superior boxing. After stopping John Hardin with dirty boxing, Yewis Mybitch faced submission wrestler Oleg Liguy. Mybitch would face defeat for the first time as Liguy took him down and knocked him out cold with ground n pound.

Despite having suffered his first loss, Yewis Mybitch signed with Destructive Striking Championship. In his DSC debut, he faced durable grappler Lucien Lachance. The fight would take place mostly on the ground with Lachace taking home the judge's decision. Next Mybitch faced another strong grappler in Ace Ventura. The opening two rounds of the fight were a near perfect replica of the Lachance bout, but Mybitch managed to come back stronger in the third round. Too little, too late; Ventura won the unanimous decision. With three consecutive losses on his record, Yewis Mybitch parted ways with the DSC promotion.

Mybitch decided to return to his roots by fighting in the QFC once again. Unfortunately this would pair him up with world class striker and well rounded fighter Hossein Vaziri. The fight only lasted thirty-one seconds with Mybitch being stopped for the second time in what was now a four fight losing skid. Fortunately for Mybitch, he was paired up with subpar grappler James Johnson three times in a row so he was able to end his losing streak, rebuild his confidence, and give Johnson early signs of CTE with three first round knockouts in sixteen days.

Rory Andler is a kickboxer with a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. This relative newcomer to the sport of MMA has competed in the UFC and QFC to mixed results.

He started his MMA career with a QFC match against Rob Brooks. Andler dominated Brooks from inside the clinch, bringing home a lopsided unanimous decision victory. Next he faced BJJ blue belt Raymundo Talley. In a near perfect recreation of his debut performance, Andler dominated from inside the clinch before stopping Talley with a big knee and followup punches against the cage. In his first fight with the UFC, Andler faced Muay Thai striker Benchamek Sitsopirang. Oh did I call him a Muay Thai stylist? Silly me for reading his primaries, Sitsopirang threw less than half a dozen strikes on his feet, opting to wrestlefuck his way to a decision victory over Andler.

In this fight I believe we will see a pure clinch battle with both guys hammering shots. It would appear that Andler has a better chin but less stopping power which would indicate a likely decision win for him. Mybitch has an unfortunate name and serious power however so anything is possible. Still with the short rounds of the UFC, I give this one to Andler via decision.

[Co-Main Event]

(Featherweight Division) Jay Brown (6-2) versus Joe Smith (4-0)

Jay Brown is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt, a world class submission artist, and former UnderGround FC title challenger. Before his UFC tenure began he reached the finals of a QFC tournament.

Hwe started his career in the QFC 887 Featherweight Tournament. He came across as just another eighteen year old BJJ fighter with nothing special to credit him with. After giving up a takedown to his debuting opponent, Chang Luann, he immediately locked in the fight ending triangle choke. Brown turned around with another easy victory over fellow submission fighter Roberto Medina. After making short work of Joe Bean, Brown faced Darrel Shane in the final round of the tourney. Shane, as it turned out, had serious power in his hands; he used this power to shut off the lights for Jay Brown.

You can tell a lot about a fighter by the way that he handles a big KO loss. Does he turtle up and hide from the world or get back on his feet and keep winning? Jay Brown did the latter; he made his debut in the big shows at UnderGround FC 1. His opponent was Marlin Scars, a submission fighter. Brown submitted Scars in the opening round. Next he faced Shiro Tanaka for the inaugural featherweight championship title. After scoring an early takedown, Brown began to struggle with the strength and clinchwork of Tanaka who would walk away with the unanimous decision and the title.

Joe Smith is a heavy handed boxing phenom and undefeated mixed martial arts sensation. Known as the Mike Tyson of the UFC featherweight division, Smith has stopped three of his four opponents within the first half of the very first round of their fights.

Joe Smith started his journey through the world of mixed martial arts fighting for the Rapid Fighting Championship of Sydney, Australia. It was there that he faced Jiu-Jitsu brown belt and undefeated fighter Alexmuria Bagueraiu. Smith went to work early with his soon to be patented power punches and it became obvious immediately that Bagueraiu couldn't take his punches for long. Each strike sent a shockwave of despair through the victim's face. In less time than it takes to heat up a Stouffer's TV dinner, Alexmuria Bagueraiu was out cold with curled toes and shattered dreams. Smith returned for RFC Aloha Hawaii 3 which took place in Hilo, Hawaii. His dance partner for this ballet of brutality was Mander Dell Palmer, another undefeated BJJ brown belt predicted to be a great. Smith guarateed that this would not be possible. Smith was a hammer and Palmer was the nail for fifty-two short seconds. The referee barely got out of the way before Smith began clubbing Palmer like a newborn seal pup. Joe Smith walked away with knockout of the night honors while the paramedics bagged his opponent up in the cage.

As a freshly free agent, Joe Smith next signed with UnderGround Fight Club. He made his promotional debut at UFC WNF 1 where he faced undefeated Jiu-Jitsu purple belt John Hogan. The big selling point for Joe Smith was that he brought an early fury that crushed opponents before they had a chance to get started. Smith delivered on his campaign promises, beating Hogan like literally anybody that has played chess against me has beaten me. Yes, I'm running out of metaphors, sue me. Joe Smith crashed into Hogan like a tidal wave and nearly finished him in the final seconds of the opening round. Hogan survived the early crisis and somehow made it through the second round without getting body bagged but he really only delayed the inevitable: early in the third round, Smith picked up the heat, knocking Hogan out cold.

In his most recent appearance, Joe Smith faced undefeated power wrestler and BJJ blue belt John Michael Benitoy. Smith would be taken down in the opening seconds of the match, facing true adversity for the first time in his career. He would immediately jump back to his feet however, so take the word “adversity” with a massive grain of salt here. From there it was all Joe Smith who spanked Benitoy like he was answering a Craigslist ad request. God I'm so sorry for that one.

In this fight we have Joe Smith facing another confident, dangerous pure grappler which is what he has made a career around defeating. Jay Brown is tough, experienced, and has a decently large name within the organization so this is a great opponent to elevate Smith if he can win it. I give this one to Joe Smith via early stoppage.

http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/belt/20190401234215Belt3.jpg(Welterweight Division, Championship bout) Sivile Gonya© (5-1) versus Guido Turturro (8-1)

Sivile Gonya© is the undisputed UnderGround FC Welterweight Champion of the World. He is a veteran of the Quick Fight Championship, the GET REKT promotion, the Rapid Fighting Championship, and the UnderGround Fight Club. He comes in to this fight riding a five fight winning streak. He is a Muay Thai stylist and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt that has shown comfort fighting on his feet, in the clinch, and on the ground. Although he is most comfortable pressing opponents against the cage, working their body with knees.

Sivile made his MMA debut in the QFC arena where he faced catch wrestler Finn Mann. New to the art of grappling, Gonya struggled to survive the ground game of Mann, who worked him over en route to a unanimous decision victory. Not one to be put off by a setback, Sivile Gonya took time away from fighting to train up his ground game to match his striking abilities. He returned to the cage at GR 12 under the GET REKT banners. There he faced world class kickboxer William Bonin. Gonya put his newfound grappling to work in this fight dominating the opening round with his Jiu-Jitsu. After nearly being finished in the opening seconds of the third round, Gonya managed to clinch and score a takedown into half guard; from there he pounded Bonin until he was able to steal a fight ending kimura submission. Gonya next faced William Emkimp at RFC Aloha Hawaii. Emkimp was known for his kickboxing so Gonya dominated him in the clinch, winning a very one-sided unanimous decision.

Next Sivile signed with the UnderGround Fight Club; he made his promotional debut at Monday Night Fights where he faced BJJ brown belt Mike Tantalau. Sivile kept the fight entirely on the outside, hammering Tantalau with power punches before stopping him with a big flurry early in the opening round.

Sivile Gonya faced fellow Muay Thai standout Monte Goglin at UFC MNF 1 for the inaugural UFC Welterweight Championship title. The two strikers would take turns winning the first four rounds with Gonya comfortably winning the fifth and final round to become the first welterweight champion of the UnderGround Fight Club.

For his first title defense, Sivile Gonya faced undefeated BJJ brown belt Divanei Silva. The fight was expected to be a deep and long war with Silva giving Gonya a real challege on the ground. It would be over in just eighteen seconds as Gonya would catch Silva early and stop him with a few big shots in the opening seconds.

Guido Turturro is the former Rapid Fighting Championship Welterweight Champion. With only one defeat in his impressive nine fight career, it is easy to undertand why Tuturro is such a tremendous fan favorite coming into thi fight. He has won five “of the night” awards across multiple promotions including four “submission of the night”s. He has fought for the QFC, FARTMMA, and RFC promotions before finding his way into the UFC. Guido Tuturro is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt that makes no secret about what he plans to do to you in your fight with him. Everyone knows what he's going to do and almost nobody can stop him from doing it.

Guido Turturro made his MMA debut, as so many have before him, in the QFC arena where he faced world class Muay Thai striker Seamus Coleman. As elite as his opponent may have been, you wouldn't have known it from how quickly Turturro clinched, pulled guard, and submitted the man. Turturro turned around with another quick victory, this time over Jaleel Guy, a Canadian brawler in the FARTMMA promotion. Same strategy, same outcome: clinch, pull guard, destroy. He next faced a power wrestler by the name of Sticker Romano who swore that their fight would end differently... but he was wrong. Romano took him down and was submitted in seconds.

With two Farts behind him, Guido Turturro signed with the RFC promotion. He made his debut there against BJJ blue belt Haisu Kulli. This would prove to be the longest fight in Turturro's career, going into the second round before his opponent was tapping out. Turturro's destruction of BJJ blue belt Haka Tonga was reminiscent of his early demolitions over Coleman, Guy, and Romano.

At RapidFC 20, Guido Turturro faced reigning welterweight champion Michael Swango for the RFC welterweight championship. Swango was no slouch himself; a high level Muay Thai kickboxer that was attempting to make his third consecutive title defense. Turturro dominated Swango from the opening belt to the final tap, controlling him with wrestling while working towards the inevitable submission victory. Turturro attempted to defend the title at RFC Showdown in Tokyo 5 against world class wrestler and fellow BJJ brown belt Serhey Rishkinov. A former champion in his last promotion, Rishkinov proved to be the greatest challenge of Turturro's career. The two traded submission attempts and positional exchanges for three rounds with the wrestling of Rishkinov proving to be too much for the champion. In the opening seconds of the fourth round, a visibly exhausted Turturro got caught with a big punch reaching in to clinch. The champion stayed on his feet but would go down on a big right hand, costing him the title.

Looking to rebound in a big way, Guido Turturro turned around with a fight over Bung Popper. The former champion clinched and controlled Popper before taking him down and submitting him late in the opening round. The bout would be Turturro's last one with RFC. The former champion found himself a free agent looking to revitilize hi career. He signed with UnderGround FC not long after the Popper fight.

Guido Turturro's most recent bout came at UnderGround FC 6 against catch wrestler and BJJ blue belt Marin Ivanov. The former champion made a big splash upon jumping into the deep end, submitting Ivanov with a first round armbar to stake his claim as the top contender in the UFC welterweight division.

[Event Background]

UnderGround FC 15 may feel like a smaller event to fill seats, but this card is set up to introduce us to several exciting new prospects in the UFC heavyweight Division. In the undercard alone we have exciting promotional newcomer in Silas Smith, an undefeated standout wrestler. Moving up into the main card we have Island Season 9 veteran Virgil Van Dijk taking on Bung Popper.

And of course in the main event we have the man of the hour, the former two-time Alcatraz beatdown heavyweight champion as well as the former Immunity Fighting Alliance heavyweight champion. Tyson James is a great wrestling stylist and an exciting addition to the UnderGround FC heavyweight division. In this preview you will see me make some remarks about his debut opponent but the reality is that sometimes schedules don't line up the way you want them to and a man needs to fight. That is no reflection on the fighters.

[undercard Bouts]

(Light-Heavyweight Division) Jonnny Sins (2-0) versus Jupiter Sakuraba (0-0)

Jonnny Sins is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner with a blue belt in the art. He has competed twice in pro MMA, both times in the QFC arena. In his debut he bested fellow blue belt Archibald Lee via unanimous decision. In his second bout he submitted BJJ blue belt Lino Dodson midway through the second round.

Jupiter Sakuraba is a former amateur wrestler and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu blue belt. He is making his professional debut in this fight, so nothing is known about his abilities yet.

(Bantamweight Division) Alex Hadley (0-1) versus Johnriel Casimero (1-2)

Alex Hadley is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt that has a small amount of Muay Thai that he mostly utilizes to score takedowns from the clinch. His lone MMA fight came against Joe Bean in the Hawaiian QFC circuit. Hadley would survive two big knockdowns before falling victim to a fight ending knee strike.

Johnriel Casimero is a boxing stylist with three professional fights as a mixed martial artist. He began his career in the QFC arena where he defeated BJJ blue belt Jiimy Gogi. After surviving the early grappling attempts from Gogi, Casimero hurt the submission fighter with a crisp one-two combination and finished him with a big right hand. Next he faced world class striker and BJJ black belt Techno Viking. Although he survived being hurt badly early in the fight, Casimero would go on to be stopped with strikes.

In his most recent bout, Johnriel Casimero faced BJJ purple belt Ricardo Lopes at UnderGround FC 7. Casimero dominated the opening two rounds of their match before getting taken down and submitted early in the third and final round.

(Lightweight Division) Ronald Paradaiser (1-2) versus Silas Smith (3-0)

Ronald Paradaiser is a Muay Thai stylist from Slovakia. This veteran of three bouts shares a common opponent with Silas Smith by the name of Aldo Stephenson.

In Paradaiser's MMA debut within the QFC arena, he faced BJJ practitioner Stephenson. After two rounds of action, Paradaiser knocked Stephenson out cold with a spinning back fist. Next he faced power wrestler Horhe Campos. Paradaiser suffered repeated takedowns and ground and pound from Campos, ultimately costing him a loss via judge's decision.

Most recently, Paradaiser faced MMA newcomer Moe Lester at UFC MNF 3. Known for his power wrestling, Lester gave a near perfect recreation of the Campos fight, out wrestling Paradaiser en route to a unanimous decision.

Silas Smith is a wrestler with a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Undefeated in the sport of mixed martial arts, Silas Smith has competed three times within the QFC arena.

In his MMA debut he defeated BJJ blue belt Clyde Reeves via rear naked choke midway through the opening round. Next he faced boxer Crison Omayao; the two took turns dominating rounds against each other with Smith winning two out of three rounds.

In his most recent appearance, Smith faced BJJ blue belt Aldo Stephenson. Smith dominated Stephenson with superior grappling en route to a unanimous decision.

(Light-Heavyweight Division) Frank Rothco (3-2) versus Dexter Morgan (0-0)

Frank Rothco is a boxing stylist and five fight veteran of mixed martial arts.

Frank made his MMA debut in the QFC arena where he faced BJJ blue belt Peter Mucha. Rothco dominated this fight, out boxing Mucha en route to a unanimous decision. Rothco was next paired up with high level striker Frank Ricochet. Rothco survived being hurt in the opening round but was stopped in the second round. Next Rothco faced power wrestler Lee Brown. Rothco was taken down immediately and caught in an Americana submission. At UnderGround FC 6 Rothco faced BJJ blue belt and professional jobber Bill From Killer Hill. After receiving an early cut from Hill, Rothco dropped him with a straight right, finishing the job with followup shots.

In his most recent bout, Frank Rothco fought boxer Ace Giannis Ignacio. Rothco dropped the man with a big right hand early, finishing with another straight punch on the button.

Dexter Morgan is a world class Muay Thai kick boxer that is making his MMA debut. Despite having a background purely in striking arts, Morgan takes all facets of his training seriously and has a blue belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.

(Super-Heavyweight Division) Bill Cutting (0-0) versus Shaka Zulu (1-0)

Bill Cutting is reportedly a Muay Thai striker that is simply testing his feet in the MMA waters to see if he has any “hidden” qualities that might make him suitable for unarmed combat.

Shaka Zulu is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt that has fought once in professional MMA. He made his debut at UnderGround FC 5 where he faced Jorge Margy, an undefeated Muay Thai stylist. Zulu took him down and pounded him for two rounds until a referee stepped in to stop the fight.

[Main Card]

(Bantamweight Division) Jon Boy (1-0) versus Seth Pentax (2-0)

Jon Boy is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner with a blue belt. He is making his UFC debut here having fought once before in the QFC.

In his lone MMA bout, Jon Boy faced fellow blue belt Cliff Velasquez. The two grapplers traded takedowns and wrestling techniques, going the distance. Jon Boy would walk away with a narrow decision.

Seth Pentax is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner with a brown belt in the art. With two professional fights on his record, Seth is undefeated in mixed martial arts.

Like his opponent here, Seth faced Cliff Velasquez in the QFC arena for his pro debut. Unlike his opponent, Seth made short work of Velasquez, dominating him en route to a kneebar finish.

Following the Velasquez bout, Pentax signed with UnderGround Fight Club. In his promotional debut he faced submission grappler Benadryl Cutalittle. The bout took place at UnderGround FC 7, with Cutalittle dominating the opening moments of the fight with his striking. For some reason, Cutalittle went for a double leg takedown and immediately fell into a triangle choke.

(Bantamweight Division) Benadryl Cutalittle (0-2) versus Vip Winner (5-1)

Benadryl Cutalittle is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner with a blue belt. In addition to his grappling, Cutalittle has some dangerous kicking strikes to compliment his style. Benadryl Cutalittle has competed twice in MMA but has not found victory yet within the cage. In his debut, he faced BJJ blue belt Eugene Austin. Cutalittle would struggle badly with the superior grappling of his opponent, losing a lopsided decision to him.

Most recently, Cutalittle faced BJJ brown belt Seth Pentax at UnderGround FC 7. Cutalittle would score with decent strikes before making the hilariously bad decision to take Pentax down... where he got submitted immediately.

Vip Winner is the winner of the QFC Tournament 905 bantamweight tournament. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt that is making his UFC debut here.

Vip Winner made his debut in the QFC 905 bantamweight tournament. His first opponent in the tournament was wrestler Lincoln Aisi. Winner too him down and the two traded submissions with Winner locking in the fight ending armbar. His second opponent was boxer Wolfgang Matthews. For no reason whatsoever Matthews initiated the takedown despite being a white belt with no wrestling and predictably got submitted before the two minute mark. After running through BJJ blue belt Peyton Hughes, Winner faced catch wrestler Oleg Magnarson in the tournament finals. After being dominated in the opening round by the powerful top control of Magarson, Winner caught him in a triangle choke in the second round.

With the tournament championship under his belt, Vip Winner entered into the regular QFC arena where he faced boxer Aage Storm. Winner took Storm down almost immediately and submitted him with a rear naked choke.

In his most recent bout, Vip Winner faced world class wrestler and BJJ brown belt Carlton Lassiter. Predictably, Winner was defeated via first round submission in this hilarious QFC mismatch. Never enter the QFC level 2.

(Welterweight Division) Test Fighter A (4-0) versus Ross Tyson (4-0)

Test Fighter A is an undefeated veteran of the QFC arena with all of his professional bouts taking place in the smaller stage. He is a boxing stylist that prefers to fight from the outside but is comfortable dirty boxing against the cage as well. He has some grappling to support him if his efforts on his feet are going less than favorably.

In his MMA debut, Fighter A faced Francesco Burke, a submission grappler with two pro fights behind him. The match took place almost entirely on the ground with Fighter A winning the first and final round to take home the judge's decision. Next he faced 0-5 blue belt Soloman Holman, defeating him with a second round tap out due to strikes. In his third bout, Fighter A graded Douglas Hobbs with an F, knocking him out cold in just fifty-two seconds.

In his most recent bout, Test Fighter A faced Andy Miranda, stopping him with strikes on the feet just one minute in.

Like his opponent here, Ross Tyson is also an undefeated veteran of the QFC arena with three of his four professional fights happening there. He is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu purple belt that makes no secrets out of his desire to grapple with opponents where he has reigned supreme.

Ross started his career with a match against BJJ blue belt Sheldon Hammond. After losing the first round to the grappling of Hammond, Tyson came back strong in the second round, dominating his foe before taking his back and choking him out. Next Ross faced Muay Thai kickboxer Ezequiel Chandler. Ross Tyson made short work of the striker, submitting him with a kimura in just fifty-one seconds. In his final QFC bout, Ross Tyson faced BJJ blue belt Norberto Rivera, out-grappling him for ten of fifteen minutes en route to a unanimous decision victory.

After the Rivera bout, Ross Tyson signed with the UnderGround Fight Club. He made his promotional debut at UnderGround FC 8 where he faced Muay Thai stylist and stubborn grappler Nick Lucas Li. Li gave Tyson every grappling opportunity he could dream of despite being a more than adequate striker, literally giving Tyson an easy unanimous decision victory.

[Co-Main Event]

(Welterweight Division) Virgil Van Dijk (10-11) versus Bung Popper (5-4)

Virgil Van Dijk is a heavy handed boxer + wrestler hybrid fighter with twenty-one professional bouts on his record. Virgil competed during the ninth season of The Island where he fought primarily for the Immunity Fighting Alliance MMA promotion. At IFA: 16/02 he challenged Stojan Kostic for the welterweight championship title. Virgil won six 'of the night' bonuses during his lengthy tenure with IFA and built up a reputation as a finisher with a kill or be killed mentality.

Virgil Van Dijk started his long career with a pair of QFC matches against Meek Vaananen and Maxim Vaschenko respectively, winning the first and losing the second- both via unanimous decision. Virgil promptly signed with the Immunity Fighting Alliance. Under the IFA banner, Virgil scored notable wins against such opponents as Ren Askcrew and Nicholas Petrone. He also defeated Island champions in Tracy Minaj and Iti Malia.

At IFA: 16/02, Dijk challenged eventual two-time IFA Island champion and undefeated brown belt Stoja Kostic. Pundits predicted a swift victory for the reigning champion of two title defenses but Virgil would shock the world in the opening round of their championship match. Virgil landed over a dozen blows to the head of the champion, delivering a hellacious beating that the grappler had never experienced across seven pro fights. Elated by his progress, Virgil came out strong in the second round but found himself caught and clinched against the cage. Midway through the round, Kostic managed to pull guard and secure the fight ending armbar to retain the title.

Despite coming in short against Kostic, Virgil went on to knock out former IFA welterweight champion Iti Malia at IFA: 22/02. Unfortunately Virgil would only go on to win two of his next six bouts, with a big win over Tracy Minaj along the way. Virgil participated in the season 9 final tournament but was submitted by undefeated BJJ brown belt Hoaka Kalama.

In his post-Island career, Virgil signed a two fight deal with Empire FC where he would go on to suffer back to back submission losses before leaving the company. In his most recent bout, Virgil Van Dijk faced BJJ purple belt Ranulf Drengot, knocking him out in five seconds flat.

Bung Popper is a world class kickboxer that has fought in the QFC, FARTMMA, and Rapid Fighting Championship with nine professional fights on his record.

Bung started his MMA career inside the Quick Fighting Championship arena, taking on world class wrestler and undefeated mixed martial artist John Titor. Popper dominated Titor for two of three rounds, out striking and out grappling the man to the finish. Next Popper faced fellow kickboxer King Racing. Undefeated across three bouts, Racing was a heavy favorite that was upset by a mighty head kick from Popper. Bung Popper made it 3-0 with a lightning fast knockout over Haisu Kulli.

Following the Kulli victory, Bung Popper signed with FARTMMA, making his debut appearance at FARTMMA 11. He faced BJJ purple belt and power wrestler Streicher Voges, suffering his first career loss via last second submission. Popper rebounded with a lightning quick knockout over Graeme Delaet.

Next Popper signed with the Rapid Fighting Championship promotion, falling victim to the submission prowess of Nuclear Penguin at RFC Aloha Hawaii 2. Popper faced Sean Joseph at RFC Showdown in Tokyo 5, dominating the man from inside the clinch. In his final fight with RFC, Bung Popper faced former welterweight champion Guido Turturro, a 6-1 BJJ brown belt. Although Popper held his own in the early goings, Turturro scored a late round guard pull and triangle choke.

Under new management and looking for a new fate, Bung Popper took a QFC fight. Unfortunately he was paired up with world class striker, elite wrestler, and BJJ black belt Temujin Lee. I said it earlier in this preview and I say it again: stay the hell out of QFC level 2.

(Heavyweight Division) Tyson James (10-4) versus Karlos Vemola (2-1)

Tyson James is a world class mixed martial arts fighter that competed during season 9 of The Island. He is the former two time Alcatraz beatdown heavyweight champion and also the former Immunity Fighting Alliance heavyweight champion. He has competed in championship bouts in seven of his fourteen professional fights.

Every single fight on the record of Tyson James took place during season 9 of The Island. His debut was in the Alcatraz beatdown promotion, taking place at Alcabeat4.1. His opponent was Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu brown belt Leonardo Saggioro. The fight would end in just over a minute when Saggioro scored a takedown into an Americana submission to force the tap. Tyson entered into his groove after his debut; he started out with a lightning fast ground and pound finish over boxer Mackie McCoist. Next he demolished a Brock Lesnar clone, pounding him unconscious after deftly avoiding a triangle choke attempt. Next he faced power wrestler and former title challenger Devin Forte. James defended the submission attempts while laying a hellacious beating on his foe. At AB12 Cobra v Fujita, Tyson James faced power wrestler Bailey Blue in a contender elimination match. James would go on to feed Blue a healthy diet of hellbows, opening a massive cut on the face of Blue that would go on to stop the fight.

At AB15 Cobra v James, Tyson James faced two time defending champion Kyle Cobra for the Alcatraz beatdowns heavyweight championship. The fight would be one of the most back-and-forth of either man's career. James drew first blood, scoring an early takedown and working his way into some healthy ground and pound. Just as the end seemed to be near for the champion, Cobra managed to reverse into top guard, stalling his way to a referee standup. Back on the feet, Cobra punched away at James, stinging at him like some sort of poisonous slithering reptile. Cobra opened a bad cut over the eye of James with a jab and hurt him with a big right hand. James scored a late round takedown but quickly got reversed back to the bottom as the round came to a close. A badly bleeding and visibly damaged Tyson James sat in the corner with a look of pure unadulterated determination on his face. James came out strong in the second round, looking to close the distance and score another takedown. Cobra cracked him with a one-two combination that put the challenger on his back. Cobra jumped into mount, but James quickly retained half guard and then full guard. Cobra stalled on top of James, inadvertently giving him time to recover from the knockdown. The referee stood them up, pushed them apart, and told them “GO!” and James shot in on the legs of Cobra, taking him down. James spent the remainder of the round dropping punches on the champion. It may not have been enough to earn him the round but it got him back in the fight. In the third round, James scored an immediate takedown into guard before working his way into full mount. A exhausted champion began floundering desperately as James began pouring on shots. When Cobra continued to flounder rather than defend, the referee stopped the fight to rescue the champion from further harm. Just like that Tyson James was the undisputed heavyweight champion.

For his first title defense, Tyson James faced power wrestler App Test. James would get taken down immediately but reverse to the top position, going to work with ground and pound. App Test managed to lock in a fight ending triangle choke to dethrone the young champion. Tyson James came back in a rematch with former heavyweight champion Kyle Cobra. James scored a lightning fast takedown this time around and although Cobra managed to reverse to the top, he was quickly rolled back to the bottom. James went to work with ground strikes and finished even faster this time. While James and Cobra were settling their differences, App Test was losing the title to Muay Thai stylist Mister Tea. At Ab22 James challenged Tea for the crown. James took Tea down and worked him over with ground and pound, stopping the fight in just under two minutes. James made one final defense against Bryan Mayhem, stopping him in the opening round as well.

Tyson James signed with Immunity Fighting Alliance, making his debut at IFA: 14:03. His first bid in the new organization was to challenge fellow wrestler Downwith Drago. Tyson James was on the wrong end of a takedown and ground and pound barrage in the opening round. James kept landing shots during transitions, opening a bad cut on the face of the IFA champion. Late in the second round, the ringside doctor declared Downwith Drago unfit to continue due to the severity of the cut. James made his first IFA title defense against another wrestler in Turd McPherson. McPherson scored an early takedown against James and the champion began attempted submissions. James reversed to the top position and suddenly it was McPherson attempting submissions from the bottom. James went to work with ground and pound from the top position, knocking McPherson out cold with strikes.

Tyson James lost the title at IFA 11.04 when Oroku Saku opened a cut on his face in the clinch. In his most recent bout, which took place in the final Island tournament, James faced BJJ brown belt Kylo Jahr. As usual James was taken down in the opening seconds of the fight and this time itwas Jahr working for submissions, ultimately locking in an Americana to force the tap.

Karlos Vemola is a three fight veteran of the sport with no name, rank, history, or standing to support his ability to pull such a high level opponent. Yet for some reason here he sits fighting the number one ranked heavyweight in the UFC heavyweight division. This would be like if the real world UFC paired Stipe Mioccic against Juan Adams or Serghei Spivac tomorrow. Karlos Vemola literally has nothing to lose in this fight because he literally should never win it. He is without a doubt going to lose this fight but crazy things happen and he technically could win. If Vemola was paired against literally any other heavyweight he would be fighting in the undercard but for some reason he is here in the main event. That's the real story that I'm bringing you in this preview.

I could sit here and tell you that Vemola was an undefeated QFC fighter with victories over the great Rolland Foley or Britt Marsh but that doesn't matter. What does matter is that when Vemola signed with UnderGround Fight Club he was paired up with John Daughtery who has better striking but inferior grappling to Vemola... and he knocked Vemola dead inside of two minutes.

But Hoarse, maybe Vemola can submit James?” You might counter. Vemola has never attempted a submission in his life.

This fight barely made it to the halfway mark of the opening round before Tantalau had Abbasov tapping out to a triangle choke.

In his most recent bout, Mike faced another blue belt in Xyryx Ignacio at UFC MNF 2. Ignacio would give Tantalau some early difficulties, escaping from the first takedown and defending his way to a referee standup on the second one. From the outside, Xyryx Ignacio picked Mike Tantalau apart before catching him with an overhand right and pounding on the felled foe until Tantalau submitted to strikes.

Patrick started fighting in the QFC arena, facing striker Zero Mitsumune. MacDonald would go on to win the fight via late first round armbar. After being defeated by BJJ brown belt Owen Murray, MacDonald faced fellow grappler Glenn Murray, hurting him with punches on the feet, stopping the match with a big flurry.

(Lightweight Division) Michael Greenwood (7-5) versus Wee Lee Osman (9-3)

Michael Greenwood is a kickboxer from Sheffield, England. This longtime veteran of the QFC arena has recently made the transition to the big show, and not without some difficulty along the way. Despite his early difficulties, the fans are enamored by his brutal finishing style and are anxious to see how far this man can go.

Michael made his fighting debut in the first of ten consecutive QFC matches, taking on Muay Thai stylist Liangchan Xiaodong. After dominating the opening round, Greenwood tired out and lost the remainder of the fight on points. Next he faced catch wrestler Idris Onolunnose, succumbing to a kimura late in the opening round. Michael was next defeated by fellow QFC vet Desmond Lewis before going on a three fight winning streak. Damir Stojnic, Seung Woo Kim, and Maximus McDougall were all defeated via judge's decision. Although he would lose in a rematch to Seung Woo Kim, Michael went on to win his final three QFC matches, besting Esteban Casillas before stopping Rick Roberts and Jacob Matousek.

Following the Matousek bout, Michael Greenwood signed with UnderGround Fight Club. In his promotional debut he rematched Liangchan Xiaodong but was defeated via thirteen second TKO. In his most recent bout, Michael defeated Anthony Linwood via first round knockout.

Wee Lee Osman is the former #1 contender to the UnderGround FC lightweight championship, having challenged defending kingpin Liberal Stomper for the throne. Robert Harper© is the reigning defending UnderGround FC Light-Heavyweight Champion of the World. Despite having a background in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Harper is an accomplished boxer that is very comfortable fighting on his feet. All seven of his professional victories have come via submission however. He is a veteran of the JAG Battle League of London, England before making his way to the UnderGround FC promotion.

Robert Harper started his MMA career in the QFC arena where he submitted Makis Karatzas with a first round triangle choke. He returned to the QFC a few days later to fight Sean Fitzgerald, but would lose the fight via unanimous decision.

After signing with JAG Battle League, Harper was paired up with Sean Fitzgerald. The bout took place not long after their first meeting, but this time Harper would finish the fight with a first round rear naked choke during a scramble. At the JAG event titled Final Destination, Harper was paired up with Muay Thai stylist Diego Barrera. Harper made short work of him, taking him down and forcing the tap in under fifty seconds.

With his JAG contract completed, Robert Harper returned to the QFC arena to scratch the itch to fight. He was paired up with BJJ blue belt Raheem Nazir who offered little resistance on the ground, submitting to a kimura midway through the opening round.

Next Robert signed with UnderGround Fight Club, making his promotional debut at Monday Night Fights against BJJ brown belt Leo Brain. Harper hurt Brain badly in all three rounds before submitting him with a knee bar midway through the third and final round.

At UnderGround FC 3, Robert Harper was paired up with 5-2 BJJ purple belt Vladimir Emelianenko for the opportunity to become the first UFC light-heavyweight champion. The early goings of the fight showed both fighters landing strikes on the feet. Harper dropped Emelianenko with an uppercut, jumping into guard while looking to finish. Harper began working on the leg of Emelianenko. Despite his foe's success in retaining full guard amid a positional battle, Harper managed to secure his second knee bar in two consecutive fights. History was made and Robert Harper was crowned the undisputed light-heavyweight champion of the world.

At UnderGround FC 6, Robert Harper made his first successful title defense against fellow BJJ brown belt Antonio Almeida. After out striking him in the opening seconds of the fight, Harper took Almeida down and smothered him while looking for a submission. Almeida was in all sorts of trouble, just trying to survive beneath the champion. Midway through the opening round, Harper cranked on an Americana and Almeida submitted, conceding defeat.

Piet Smit is the former 301st SPARTAN Light-Heavyweight Champion. All of his professional mixed martial arts fights have taken place during season 9 of The Island. This Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioner holds a brown belt with all eleven of his victories coming by way of submission. At the end of season 9 of The Island, Piet competed in the final tournament where he made it to the fourth round. Piet Smit competed for the Immunity Fighting Alliance and 301st SPARTAN promotions.

Piet Smit started his MMA career as a resident of The Island during its ninth iteration. His hilarious quip is that he thought he was buying tickets to Iceland and ended up on the “Island” instead. Piet made his fighting debut t ROTI-02, which was hosted by the Immunity Fighting Alliance. There he fought Wonderful Dragon, an accomplished wrestler that managed to smother Smit on the ground en route to a decision victory. Next Piet Smith faced kick boxer Arnold Dalton, losing two of three the three rounds in a fight that largely took place in the clinch. Near the end of the final round, Smit pulled guard and submitted Dalton with a triangle choke. In his final appearance with IFA, Piet faced another great wrestler in Jambe De Bois, who survived the submission attempts and controlled Smit en route to a decision victory.

Piet Smit moved on from the IFA promotion, signing instead with 301st SPARTAN. At SPARTA 3, Smit submitted Perry Fortin with a first round triangle choke. A quick win over Flint Beaswood earned Smit the opportunity to challenge for inaugural light-heavyweight championship. His opponent was heavy handed power wrestler Anthony Romeo. Smit executed his game plan to perfection: clinch, pull guard, submit. One minute and twenty-two seconds is how long it took for Piet Smit to force Romeo to tap out. Piet Smit was the undisputed champion. At SPARTA 12, Smit was submitted by Royce Gracie in what was meant to be his first title defense, but due to a clerical error was booked to be a non-title fight. Since Gracie had submitted Smit, an immediate rematch was granted to rectify the situation. This time Piet Smit submitted Gracie with a triangle choke late in the opening round. Smit made his second title defense against Muay Thai striker Nqobile Ndlanda.

At SPARTA 22, Piet Smit rematched Anthony Romeo in his third attempted title defense. This time around, Romeo survived the early storm and came back strong, knocking Smit out midway through the second round with a big haymaker from hell.

Piet Smit never managed to reclaim his lost championship during his remaining time with SPARTA. Romeo would go on to lose the title to Royce Gracie in a moment that could only be described as ironic fate. Smit versus Gracie would be the fight that fans wanted to see a third time, but Smit struggled to put together a winning streak with the loss of his title, winning two of his four remaining fights there. His final act with SPARTA was to lose the rubbermatch against Anthony Romeo at SPARTA44.

In the finale tournament, Piet Smit submitted Agustin Suares, undefeated striker Cesare Tiramanti, 5-1 BJJ brown belt Anton Shibaev, but lost to the former IFA light-heavyweight champion, Whitaker via decision in round 4 of 6 of the tournament.

Following his return to the mainland, Piet Smit parted ways with his longtime manager and signed with UnderGround Fight Club. This fight will be his promotional debut.
