MAIN EVENT: Ruslan Karelin (#2) vs. Jeremy Jones (#1)

Combate returns to the Tokyo Bowl for a blockbuster card, with fights across five divisions, culminating in a main event between top ranked light heavyweights Ruslan Karelin and Jeremy Jones.  With the 205lbs crown currently occupied by the world's best in Mohammed Kahn, Karelin and Jones will hope to put their name in the conversation, with Kahn currently slated to face GAMMA champion Joosep Lohmus in a matter of weeks.

Despite Ruslan Karelin's impressive Combate record of 6-2, the Chernobyl-born Ukrainian has never got a shot at light heavyweight gold. The only opponent to have got the better of Karelin is former champion Dwayne Haskins, on two separate occasions. Five submission victories inside the opening round since signing for Combate clearly demonstrates the grappling and jiu-jitsu credentials of the Ukrainian. Karelin's sole shot at a championship came way back at PANDA 43, with a TKO loss to Iron Jussi when competing at super heavyweight. Can he make a run towards a fight with Mohammed Kahn?

Helsinki-based, UK-born Jeremy Jones has his eyes set on a rematch with Mohammed Kahn, after being knocked out in their first meeting back at Combate 86. The scorecards had the bout evenly poised through the opening two rounds, before Kahn countered an uppercut with two right hands to knock Jones unconscious. Jones lives by the sword and dies by it, with all five of his Combate fights ending by knockout. A win over the aforementioned Dwayne Haskins just weeks ago set up a big opportunity for Jones, who's Combate records stands at 4-1.

A classic striker vs. grappler matchup, but can Ruslan Karelin become the first man to submit Jeremy Jones? Find out on CombatePPV this Saturday!

CO-MAIN EVENT: Eduardo Corassa (#2) vs. Junior Vilson (NR)

Eduardo Corassa, the former Combate Bantamweight Champion has took some time to adjust to life at 145lbs, starting his featherweight move with consecutive losses. The Brazilian is now back, firing on all cylinders having picked up three wins in a row, including a victory over Calixto Cardona last time out. Corassa will enter the Combate cage for the 18th time this Saturday, with a potential win taking him one behind the all-time record of thirteen, shared by Chris Steve, Tan Zan and Louis Princip.

Inside the cage on Saturday night will prove if Corassa has the potential to mix it with the likes of champion Yuro Nagasaki and contenders like Obi Wan Kenobi. Junior Vilson may not hold a Combate ranking following his move over from Pulse, but he represents a tough challenge, having not been finished in the last two years. Vilson's only losses in this time have come at the hands of former Combate champion Futoshi Matsunaga and #1 contender Obi Wan Kenobi. The Haitian has picked up an incredible six consecutive fight of the night bonuses, with a seventh surely beckoning for this featherweight firefight.

ALSO ON THE CARD:

FEATHERWEIGHT: Chan Siam (NR) vs. Rukter Demenok (#5)

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: John Mongrel (NR) vs. Dwayne Haskins (#2)

LIGHTWEIGHT: Verneri Ahma (#3) vs. Phillip Terrell (#5)

WELTERWEIGHT: Abdel Mumu (#5) vs. Demetrius Jackson (#4)

WELTERWEIGHT: Garik Andonian (NR) vs. Louis Princip (NR)

FEATHERWEIGHT: Henrique Gusmao (NR) vs. Biabas Kitjakarn (NR)

HEAVYWEIGHT: Inspektor Gee (NR) vs. Hip Hop (NR)

Combate 95: Kahn vs. Lohmus

Event Preview

MAIN EVENT: Mohammed Kahn (©) vs. Joosep Lohmus (GAMMA ©)

Champ meets Champ, Combate collides with GAMMA as 'The Pitbull' Mohammed Kahn faces the 'Little Bunny' Joosep Lohmus in the main event of Combate 95.

Lebanon-born, LA-based Mohammed Kahn committed his future to Combate, despite expected interest from the rest of the Tycoon world. The World's #1 205lber is a knockout artist, with four straight wins by knockout to regain his Combate crown. Wins over Dwayne Haskins, Jeremy Jones and Kazuma Kuwabara.

Whilst questions from human rights groups continue to circle regarding Kahn's ties to Hezbollah affiliate Kartila Madan, Kahn and manager Chris Karter continue to avoid commenting on the situation, and allow their hands to do the talking.

Joosep Lohmus has been the man at the summit of the GAMMA light heavyweight division for a number of years. The Norwegian has entered the twilight of his career having recently turned 37, but continues to show he's still a force globally at 205lbs.

A silver medal at the 2022 Olympics, just one loss in his last six alongside having only been stopped four times in 55 fights, it's hard to imagine Kahn knocking out a man who's been knocked out just twice in his career.

The recent shared common opponent between Kahn and Lohmus is Dwayne Haskins. Kahn scored two first-round knockouts over Haskins, whilst Lohmus was stopped in the fourth round earlier in the year.

Can Kahn become just the third man to knock out Joosep Lohmus? Could Lohmus outpoint Kahn? Find out this Saturday, exclusively worldwide with CombatePPV.

CO-MAIN EVENT: Jensen Chelios (©) vs. Vlad Tepes III (#1)

Jensen Chelios is entering his prime as the Combate welterweight champion, despite having his eight-fight unbeaten streak snapped by recently retired middleweight king Chris Steve. Under the tutelage of Corey McGraugh, Chelios has found a real home with Combate, with this marking his 15th appearance in the promotion, holding a current record of 10-3-1.

'Frankenstein' picked up the title over Bobby Bobblehead with a dominant decision victory, but Chelios has the ability all over the cage with knockout power, combined with the fight IQ to take the contest to the distance. He'll hope to make the first of many defenses of his welterweight crown against Vlad Tepes III.

Moscow's own 'Impaler' Vlad Tepes III secured his shot at welterweight gold with a first-round submission victory over former champ Bobby Bobblehead at Combate 92. It marked his first submission victory since his second professional fight, some 28 fights previous.

What did it demonstrate? That Tepes III and his manager Aleksey Nikulin can adapt their game to any situation. An entire career previously spent at Odense, can Tepes III reach the summit of the Combate welterweight division?

WELTERWEIGHT: Bobby Bobblehead (#2) vs. Henry Lancaster (#3)

The final fight to cap off an impressive career for Bobby Bobblehead goes down this Saturday, with the former welterweight king rematching Henry Lancaster in his last dance in Tokyo.

You only have to go back three months to see Bobby Bobblehead as the best welterweight in the world, having cleared out the division and submitting Syn champion Dylan Peterson. But three back to back losses to SFL champ Izzy Bangin, and to headliners Jensen Chelios and Vlad Tepes III has left Bobblehead and manager Pablo Spezziale with a tough decision to make.

The first fight between Bobblehead and Lancaster ended with knockout victory for Bobblehead back at Combate 73. Lancaster has since emerged with some indifferent form, hoping to win consecutive fights for the first time in 2022 to potentially secure a second title shot at 170lbs.

Will three rounds change either fighters gameplan in this rematch?

FEATHERWEIGHT: Darren Dixon (#3) vs. Crush Bandicoot (NR)

Darren Dixon arrived at Combate with high expectations, having amassed a 5-2 record in GAMMA and winning four consecutive fights in SFL since signing with manager Jack King.

Two wins by submission, both earning Performance of the Night bonuses over former champ Balagot Liu and Brayden Point, sandwiched either side of a decision defeat to Calixto Cardona leaves Dixon in title contention in a stacked featherweight division.

Olympic defeat to current Combate champion Yuro Nagasaki leaves Dixon possibly a couple of wins away from a title charge, with an organisational title possibly one of the few things missing from the Englishman's résumé.

Crush Bandicoot has been a featherweight mainstay since joining Combate during the Limitless merger in 2020. The former Combate featherweight champion will hope for another run at the title, having snapped a three-fight losing streak with a submission victory in his fourth fight with Action Bastard.

Bandicoot will tie Louis Princip as the second most active fighter in Combate history with 19 fights on his record. Under the tutelage of Alexander Biro, Bandicoot has NEVER been knocked out in his 41 fights, and continues to represent a tough challenge in the featherweight division.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Rect Umm (#4) vs. Tan Zan (NR)

A light heavyweight matchup between former Combate and PANDA light heavyweight champion Rect Umm and Tan Zan opens the main card in Tokyo.

Rect Umm will be hoping to bounce back from losses to Ruslan Karelin and Mohammed Kahn to make one last run at the title, having recently turned 40. Tan Zan will be hoping to recover the form that saw the Island Season 9 winner emerge victorious in his first ELEVEN bouts for the promotion.

Zan's form recently has seen him win two of his last seven. Can he bounce back against his fellow veteran?

MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE: Leyte Gulf (#2) vs. Wolfgang Brandstatter (#1)

The middleweight division will see a new champion for just the seventh time in history, following the retirement of Chris Steve.

With Leyte Gulf and Wolfgang Brandstatter having previously challenged for the belt, both men will hope to experience the euphoria of having Combate gold placed around their waist at the Tokyo Bowl.

The former SMASH champion Leyte Gulf will hope that his rematch victory over Barry McCockiner will see him resume his previous form, having slid to three consecutive defeats to Chris Steve, Shen Po and Athos Knox.

Wolfgang Brandstatter will enter the cage as the favourite, having beaten everybody he's faced in the Combate cage, aside from two losses to the former champion Chris Steve.

Who will be the new man to beat at 185lbs?

FEATHERWEIGHT: Balagot Liu (NR) vs. Calixto Cardona (#4)

Once the man at 145lbs, Balagot Liu was voted as the best featherweight in the world in 2021, having defended his Combate crown as well as defeating Syn champion Edson Bidon Barbosa. All whilst being under the age of 30, it seemed Liu was destined for superstardom.

The start of 2022 began horrifically for Liu, sliding to four back-to-back losses to My Time, Yuro Nagasaki, Darren Fixon and Brayden Point. Questions emerged over a need for a change of scenery, or even if Combate would put its faith in its former champion.

Liu managed to find himself back in the win column for the first time since his victory over Barbosa, outpointing My Time in a rematch to put himself back in the frame at 145lbs. Another rematch will go down at Combate 95, where Liu will look to avenge his PANDA title defeat to Calixto Cardona.

Olympic Semifinallist Calixto Cardona has always been the gatekeeper at 145lbs, with only the best prevailing over the Brazilian. It's almost bizarre that these two have never met under the Combate banner, but two former champions will collide on this stacked card this Saturday!

FEATHERWEIGHT: Brayden Point (NR) vs. Hratch Tzien (NR)

Former Syn champion Brayden Point got his Combate career off to the perfect start, outpointing former champ Balagot Liu in a fight of the night earning performance. His defeat to Darren Dixon leaves Point hoping to head towards the top of a stacked featherweight division, as he faces Hratch Tzien.

'The Burmese Python' Hratch Tzien will hope to bounce back from consecutive losses to Calixto Cardona and Action Bastard to resume his charge towards the upper echelons of the 145lbs division.

FEATHERWEIGHT: Action Bastard (NR) vs. My Time (NR)

Action Bastard will become the outright all-time Combate fight leader, moving to 21 fights when he makes the walk in his home country of Japan this Saturday night. He faces former champion My Time, who hopes to snap a five-fight skid since losing his featherweight king status.

LIGHTWEIGHT: Hugh Honey (NR) vs. Paulo Gentil (NR)

Another final dance opens the evening, with former Combate lightweight champion Hugh Honey, hanging up the gloves at 42 years of age. Honey will face Combate debutant and Brasilia's own Paulo 'The Doctor' Gentil.

COMBATE ANNOUNCES TEN NEW SIGNINGS

QUEBRA CRANIO (Middleweight)

43w13.jpg

Nationality: 🇧🇷

Record: 7-2-1

Age: 24

Rank: 194

Fact: Former WCF Middleweight Champion

Brazil's own middleweight wonderkid Quebra Cranio returns to his home country with his sights firmly set on the Combate middleweight crown. Hailing from Linhares. Brazil - Cranio has power flowing through his body, with all of his seven wins coming by way of knockout, including four in the opening round. The Brazilian's final fight in WCF saw him capture the middleweight title, with a victory over Frank Diaz.

Can Cranio reach his potential and become a middleweight icon?

BLAZEJ BYCZKIEWICZ (Light Heavyweight)

14416556519231.jpg

Nationality: 🇵🇱

Record: 17-9

Age: 30

Rank: 413

Fact: Former WCF Light Heavyweight Champion

For Blazej Byczkiewicz, this represents an unlikely return to Combate following his one-fight in the promotion way back at Combate 21, in a loss to Pauke Murhaa. Under manager Buff Minion, Blazej captured the WCF title against long-term foe Aaron Wolf, and continued to remain at the summit of the promotion's light heavyweight division with multiple title challenges. With 16 knockouts on his record, and just one of his 26 fights going the distance, he's going to be a fun addition!

Can the Polish knockout artist step up to the high-level competition in Combate's 205lbs division?

RAZMIK GRIGORIAN (Middleweight)

34w5.jpg

Nationality: 🇳🇱

Record: 11-3

Age: 25

Rank: 729

Fact: Riding a five-fight win streak

Dutch technician Razmik Grigorian signs with Combate having put together an outstanding run, somewhat unluckily in closed organisations WCF and Hardcore. A change in management, moving from Kostas Tsaq to Alexander Biro has lead to a perfect start to 2022, after four months out of action to concentrate on training. Three wins, with two decisions and one first round knockout leads many to tout Grigorian as a potential future star at middleweight or welterweight. Grigorian has wasted no time in getting his first promotional appearance, having signed to fight Barry McCockiner at Combate 97 on May 7.

Can Grigorian continue his good form?

BARRON WHITE (Heavyweight)

11w16.jpg

Nationality: 🇬🇧

Record: 16-5

Age: 28

Rank: 816

Fact: Former BLAZE BROTHERS Heavyweight Champion

A true heavyweight knockout artist. 21 fights, 20 have ended by knockout, with 16 of those wins. His record is astonishing, with only FOUR of his fights having gone past the opening round. Originally under the tutelage of Grumpy Bastard, Teyo Ken is now handling things outside of the cage for Barron White.

With four losses in his last six fights, does White have the chin to last with the elite heavyweights of the Tycoon world?

TYSON ASAKURA (Welterweight)

15494997683280.png

Nationality: 🇯🇵

Record: 14-8

Age: 30

Rank: 848

Fact: 17 fights with WCF

Combate's recent and historical stints in Tokyo are paying dividends by attracting more Japanese talent, with welterweight Tyson Asakura joining the welterweight division. Hailing from Sapporo, Tyson's town is most famous for its beer, but Asakura will hope that he gives it a new reputation, and that's for being the home of a world champion. The outgoing funky Japanese striker wastes no time, debuting in Tokyo on May 7 against knockout artist Vlad Darko.

Can Tyson fly the Japanese flag high?

JOSE RONALDO (Featherweight)

32w35.jpg

Nationality: 🇧🇷

Record: 18-10-1

Age: 36

Rank: 891

Fact: Five fight of the night bonuses across his career

Another Brazilian returns home, with Jose Ronaldo heading back to his home nation for an end-of-career stint with Combate. 19 fights in WCF and the closure of the promotion left the featherweight looking to revive his career elsewhere. A stacked featherweight division lay in waiting for the 36-year-old.

Can he make an impact at 145lbs?

JACK SULLIVAN (Light Heavyweight)

18w12.jpg

Nationality: 🇬🇧

Record: 4-0 MMA, 6-0 KB, 5-0 BJJ

Age: 25

Rank: 1095 MMA, 70 KB, 334 BJJ

Fact: TWGC 33 Heavyweight World Champion

It's hard not to be impressed by Jack Sullivan's accomplishments so far in his young career. The London-born, New York-based light heavyweight has gone undefeated across three different disciplines and now attempts to join the big leagues to add a major world title to his record. His kickboxing background would suggest a heavy striking game, but grappling world title also demonstrates a well-rounded ground game too.

Since signing, we're already on his third fight offer. Will someone step up to face the Brit on his Combate debut?!

MAGNUS GUNNARSSON (Light Heavyweight)

11w5.jpg

Nationality: 🇮🇸

Record: 13-13

Age: 30

Rank: 1137

Fact: Six wins by submission

The Icelandic light heavyweight has followed a similar path to many on this list, through GAMMA Development and into WCF, but Gunnarsson is yet to truly find his home that can see him reach his potential. A submission specialist and BJJ black belt, 'The Icepick' will hope to work his way up the rankings at 205lbs to fulfil early hopes for his career.

Can the Icelander turn his record into a positive one?

EFRAIM TURBAN (Lightweight)

43b3.jpg

Nationality: 🇮🇱

Record: 21-8

Age: 36

Rank: 1343

Fact: 6x SAFO lightweight champion

The Pride of Israel, Efraim Turban is ever the entertainer and packs a punch! 17 of his 21 victories have come by way of knockout, but questions remain if the 36-year-old can mix it at the top level. He has title fight experience, having fought in no less than eight title fights in his career.

Can 'Golden Boy' roll back the years?

LORD MAMMON

40b26.jpg

Nationality: 🇰🇲

Record: 15-8

Age: 36

Rank: 1638

Fact: Former Island Fights Champion

Many expect that Lord Mammon won't have the ability to mix it at this level, but he clearly has knockout power and a huge popularity with the fans. It's going to be a fun ride either way!

BREAKING NEWS: Combate and Chris Karter are in advanced talks over Kilo Maluga, who enters free agency following 32 fights with Synchronicity. Sources say Combate chief Darren Russell woke up to 420 missed calls from Chris Karter as the P4P #1 officially became a free agent.

With experts stating that Kilo and Karter are expecting the largest deal in Tycoon history, could the 21x SYN Heavyweight champ and Super Heavyweight Olympic gold medalist make the switch to Combate for his fiftieth fight?

Darren Russell refused to comment on speculation, but it would seem that every organisation will attempt to attract Maluga's name to their heavyweight division.

BREAKING NEWS: Talks between Combate and Kilo Maluga have broken down at the final hour. Darren Russell commented on the situation, telling sources that the Unrestricted Org of the Year 2021 had made a "life changing, record breaking" offer to Maluga and manager Chris Karter, but the partnership have decided to remain with Syn.

With Kilo choosing his side ahead of DYNAMITE (Syn vs. Combate), attentions for Russell will now turn towards developing yet another talent to defeat Maluga, having oversaw the rise of Karim Johnson under the bright lights of Combate.

Kilo strongly considered moving to Combate and overthrowing the Communist rebels who threaten the regime in Brazil, but decided to accept an offer as Co-Owner of SYN management. Now owning 49% of the company and pocketing 50% of the PPV revenue generated, Kilo is expected to appear on the FORBES list in the near future. Rumors in small circles speculate that Kilo has his sights set on the Combate heavyweight championship after his SYN contract expires because he hears the Brazilian girls are loose, which is ultimately what lured @DRussellMMA to South America to open the organization to begin with.

COMBATE STRIP TOBIG FAIL OF HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE

Well it's a day that fans hope would never come, but Combate have stripped Tobig Tofail of his heavyweight crown, following revelations of a criminal past. Recent charges brought against the heavyweight include money laundering, racketeering and human trafficking.

Combate president Darren Russell released the following statement: "On behalf of myself and Combate, we're disgusted to learn of the recent developments around the disgraced Tobig Tofail. He has been stripped of his heavyweight crown and the Combate brand will not be associated with him until the criminal trial has come to a conclusion"

Now it leaves a vacant heavyweight title, with rumours a new champion will be crowned at Combate 100 on May 28.

Combate announces SFL merger

One of the biggest mergers in Tycoon history has begun, as Combate acquires #3 organisation SFL, after brokering a major deal with Chris Karter.

Contract offers have been sent and SFL's fighters will be welcomed to the beaches of Rio de Janeiro with open arms. The acquisition will add some depth to Combate's divisions and will lead to an increase to two shows per week and lead to some very intriguing matchups.

Speaking to the press ahead of his debut under his new manager, Gotan Wasselach was heard speaking about his future plans:

"I've just turned 30 but I feel like I'm finally at a place where I can compete and take that next step in my career. New year, new management, new me. I'm only 12 fights into my career but I don't believe my current record tells the whole story. I'm looking to finally put everything together and get those wins to get the recognition I deserve for all the hard work I've put into this."

On his upcoming opponent John "The Mauler" Mongrel at Combate 99:

"He's certainly got some hands and past pedigree. You can't deny his form on the Island. However, I think the game is catching up to him. He's 3 years younger than me, but it's about fight mileage and he's starting to show it. I'm faster, stronger, and I'll show I have more polish in the cage. If he leaves his chin up in the air like he has recently, he'll find my right hand connecting. We've both had stoppage losses but the difference is all 3 of mine have been controversial and from the doctor. John's been out cold as recently as two fights ago. Look at his morale, he knows he's worried about this fight and I'm going to make sure those fears are real."

A lot of big words from a fighter who is at a definite crossroads in his career, but be sure to tune in to C99: Magnus vs. Bartasz to see if Gotan walks his talk.

Tommy Gavin announced he joined a new team after he got released from his previous team and his move to Combate after SFL got a deal with Combate

"I am proud to announce that I got another chance to train, to be able to compete and not forced to leave the fighting game because my old teams left me on the road like a trash bag, I guess right now I will put my heart on the table for the team that signed me, it's hilarious cuz the name of the team is Heartless but yea, I will give them everything I got and I will represent that gym with pride and I will personally don't give up anytime soon, WIN or LOSE in my next fight won't be a disaster, winning will be beautiful ofc but as a fighter with a new game plan, new team, new gym and new partners we have to test things out first, right?

I can't wait to step in the cage and fight again, everyone from Heartless wants to see me fight again, get that W, time to train, focus on everything that is connected to fighting game and wait for my next opponent, much love from a Heartless member, see you soon!

Oh, yea, forgot to say that Combate signed me up after they got a deal with SFL, I don't know much about that but all I know is that this new contract and this move made me feel like it's a new era for me, it's a fresh start again, just like the young age!"

Combate 100: Los Angeles

colossuseum.jpg

1653468455C100%20LA.png

Event Preview

The biggest event in Combate's history marks the 100th numbered card the promotion has put together since its re-establishment in September 2020. The blockbuster event takes place in Los Angeles at the historic LA Memorial Colosseum, whilst it wouldn't be fitting for Combate to make such a milestone without putting on a show in our hometown of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

EVERY active Combate championship will be defended, with $100k performance bonuses in place across both cards, making this a life changing night for everybody involved. A big thanks to SuckerPunch for sending champions Magnificent Chulalongkorn and Noah Anderson, Odense for sending champion Maxim Jahouli, and lastly Synchronicity for sending Izzy Bangin and Detkhunjon Sitsongrit to compete in this landmark event.

VACANT COMBATE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE [MAIN EVENT]: Mohammed Kahn vs. Valentin Taneyev

Combate's greatest light heavyweight product in Mohammed Kahn looks to regain his crown as he takes on new addition and SFL champion Valentin Taneyev.

With a staggering FORTY ONE knockouts between these two heavy hitters, it seems almost unthinkable that the judges would be required for this title affair.

Mohammed Kahn has beaten almost every light heavyweight that Combate have thrown at him during his twelve-fight stint with the promotion, which includes a staggering seven title fights. The Lebanese striker with a somewhat questionable terrorist background lost his Combate 205lbs crown to GAMMA's Joosep Lohmus back at Combate 95, but with Lohmus unable to defend his title, 'The Pitbull' has the opportunity to gain it back in perhaps his toughest matchup yet.

Russia's own 'Hand Grenade' Valentin Taneyev is one of the best additions from the promotion's recent acquisition of SFL. A terrifying striker, in the prime of his career wants to make an impact on the promotion by ousting one of its favourite sons. Hailing from Saint Petersburg, Taneyev will hope to adapt to new surroundings, having competed in 25 fights in SFL, dating back to SFL 05 in August 2020.

With an incredible 27 bonuses shared between both men, it seems unfathomable that at least one of these knockout artists wouldn't walk away with that Combate $100k bonus check, hand signed by Darren Russell this Saturday night.

Who walks away with the Combate light heavyweight title?

COMBATE FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE [CO-MAIN EVENT]: Obi Wan Kenobi (©) vs. Magnificent Chulalongkorn

When one of the best featherweights and bantamweights of his generation meets  the rising star and Olympic champion, only fireworks can be expected.

For technician Obi Wan Kenobi, he finally added Combate gold to his impressive resume of Syn and UnderGround titles just two weeks ago after ousting Yuro Nagasaki at the second time of asking at Combate 98.

Life in Combate has brought nothing but good results for Kenobi, who is unbeaten in his seven outings under the promotion. He will hope to create a legacy that will be tough to match at the summit of Combate's 145lbs division, as he makes his first defense in a superfight against Magnificent Chulalongkorn.

SuckerPunch's golden child, riding a nine-fight win streak and being crowned the Olympic champion, it's fair to say that Chula is enjoying life under Bjorn O'Donnel. The Thai striker continues to impress across the Tycoon world, and after passing the acid test of the Olympics, with victories over Finnish Tax Payer, Diogo Jimenez and Rukter Demenok - it seems like he is ready to compete at the highest level of the sport.

Who takes the featherweight title in this Champ vs. Champ matchup?

COMBATE LIGHTWEIGHT TITLE: Jacque Joteel (©) vs. Ernest Graves

Moscow's own Jacque Joteel has really made that Combate lightweight crown his own since picking it up earlier this year, following it up with Olympic gold and cementing himself as one of the best lightweights in the planet. A loss to Dick Pawlik ensured that Joteel would have to raise his game to be considered as the true #1 155lb'er on Tycoon.

Joteel returned from Syn with a vengeance, knocking out Domenico Mazziotti just five seconds into the second round just two weeks on from his defeat. But during his super fight and Olympic escapades, a new contender has emerged.

A former Odense champion, Ernest Graves has been a perennial lightweight contender, having competed in over 61 professional bouts. His 33-26-2 record suggests some hot and cold patches in his career, but its clear to say that Graves is well and truly on great run currently, having won seven of his last eight fights.

Can Graves oust the champion?!

FEATHERWEIGHT: Yuro Nagasaki vs. Darren Dixon

Sixty-six fight veteran Yuro Nagasaki was dethroned as Combate's featherweight champion after defeat to Obi Wan Kenobi a fortnight ago, but will hope to return to winning ways as he rematches Darren Dixon.

Nagasaki had previously gone on a 12-fight winning streak since switching to manager Dead Disney back in August 2021, picking up the Odense, CFC and Combate bantamweight and featherweight crowns along the way. A defeat to Finnish Tax Payer by razor-close split decision in the Olympic semi-final match up saw that streak snapped, before a win, draw and a loss leaving that 40-year-old in limbo as to his future.

Darren Dixon has always been a man who's been in and around the title hunt in SFL, GAMMA and Combate, but has failed to take the step needed to clinch a title. A pair of wins over former champion Balagot Liu clearly show Dixon's pedigree, but he'll need to get the better of Nagasaki in a rematch of their Olympic quarterfinal, which Nagasaki took by decision.

Can Nagasaki make another run at the title? Or is it Dixon's time for world title talk?

LIGHTWEIGHT: Bong Ji Woo vs. Tacitus Kilgore

Another great recent pickup by Combate, from the burning ashes of WCF rises Bong Ji Woo, who makes the step up to Combate at the tender age of 30.

Under the tutelage of Chris Karter, the South Korean has picked up a number of accolades, including a four-time WCF champion alongside a TWGC title. A well-rounded grappler with devastating knockout power, could the 'Kung Fu Zombie' become the next man in line for the crown with a win here?

Standing in Bong's way is long-time SFL lightweight contender and four-time champion Tacitus Kilgore.

After twenty-five fights in the promotion, pastures new await for Billy Arseworth's lightweight technician, who looks to also emerge in the Combate 155lbs title mix with a victory on this blockbuster card.

FEATHERWEIGHT: Eduardo Corassa vs. Detkhunjon Sitsongrit

It's fitting that one of the most important matchups in Combate history will be settled at the fourth time of asking at the landmark Combate 100 event.

Whilst former bantamweight king Eduardo Corassa is well and truly back in title contention at 145lbs with five straight victories, a matchup with Sitsongrit has always been on the radar.

Their rivalry dates way back to Combate 20, with Sitsongrit defending his bantamweight crown, with an unanimous decision victory over Corassa. Fast forward to Combate 35, and the rematch couldn't be settled, as the judges scored the fight a draw... with Corassa outpointing Sitsongrit in the rematch at Combate 41.

So after fifteen rounds, the rivalry remains unsettled. But (hopefully) one can define themselves as the true victor this Saturday night at Combate 100.

COMBATE WELTERWEIGHT TITLE: Jensen Chelios (©) vs. Izzy Bangin

Jensen Chelios is truly in the prime of his career. One defeat in his last ten bouts, and with his last loss at 170lbs coming way back at Combate 52, it's clear that the 33-year-old is the man to beat in the welterweight division.

Successfully making his first defense back at Combate 95, Chelios will hope to target Bobby Bobblehead's record as the greatest Combate welterweight champion with a victory over SFL champion and Syn contender Izzy Bangin.

With a record of 29-3-3, it's pretty clear that Nigeria's Bangin is clearly one of the world's elite at 170lbs. One of the greatest technicians in the sport, Izzy has picked up ALL twenty-nine of his wins by decision.

Bangin enjoyed victory on his previous Combate appearance, outpointing then champion Bobby Bobblehead back at Combate 86. Can Bangin taste victory once again on Combate soil? Or is it time for Chelios to emerge as a real player in the world welterweight scene?

VACANT COMBATE HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE: Grant Alyoshin vs. Noah Anderson

After the disappointment over the stripping of heavyweight champion Tobig Tofail, a new king must rise in the Combate 265lbs division.

Enter two-time champion Grant Alyoshin, who has fought at Combate since the early days of Combate 7. The Russian's two title losses have come at the hands of generational heavyweight talents Karim Johnson and Wolfgang Muller, but three straight wins, including two consecutive head kick knockouts leave Alyoshin as the man on everyone's lips at 265lbs.

Standing across from the cage is SuckerPunch's heavyweight king Noah Anderson. Having recently clinched the crown from Will Wrecks, Anderson finds himself with a golden ticket to clinching Combate gold at the tender age of 27.

With thirty-one knockouts between the two heavy hitters, it's another fight that surely can't go to the judges' scorecards.

COMBATE MIDDLEWEIGHT TITLE: Wolfgang Brandstatter (©) vs. Maxim Jahouli

Wolfgang Brandstatter has enjoyed life following the retirement of Chris Steve, the only man to defeat him inside the promotion.

Finally clinching the middleweight crown with a win over Leyte Gulf, Brandstatter followed it up with his first defense over former WCF champion Quebra Cranio to set up a fight with another promotion's champion in Maxim Jahouli.

The Pride of Pakistan, Maxim Jahouli has been the man to beat at Odense, having recently got the call up to fight at Syn Supernova, sliding to defeat against Winston Todd. Can Jahouli redeem himself at Combate 100?

WELTERWEIGHT: Demetrius Jackson vs. Bobby Brawler

With the honour of opening up this historic card, Demetrius Jackson and Bobby Brawler will hope to announce themselves to a huge audience of fans, and potentially secure a life changing $100k bonus!

Event Preview

Crossing over to Rio de Janeiro, a blockbuster card featuring a number of promotional debuts, alongside appearances of some of Combate's best fighters and former champions.

HEAVYWEIGHT [MAIN EVENT]: Kjetil Olsen vs. Billy Bob Brown

Two men who will have their eyes on Los Angeles' heavyweight title bout is Norway's Kjetil Olsen and USA's Billy Bob Brown, who both make their Combate debuts in Rio de Janeiro.

Kjetil Olsen has emerged as one of the brightest heavyweight prospects, having appeared at the Olympics, sliding to defeat to Alexei Babinski in the semi finals. Olsen is a former California MMA champion and recently lost to Clarence Host in challenging for the Blaze Brothers crown.

Billy Bob Brown comes into the fight riding a three fight win streak, and winning six of his last seven in SFL. The knockout artist will hope to add Olsen to his impressive resume and make a statement on his Combate debut.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT [CO-MAIN EVENT]: Blazej Byczkiewicz vs. Jeremy Jones

Former WCF and GDL champion Blazej Byczkiewicz got his Combate career off to the perfect start, becoming the first man to defeat Jack Sullivan across MMA, kickboxing and grappling. A worsening cut forced Blazej to get Sullivan out there quickly, with the Polish striker getting the job done in the second round.

A big step up is handed to Blazej, with a fight against former PULSE and RISE world champion Jeremy Jones. Jones had previously challenged Mohammed Kahn for the light heavyweight crown, and recently dispatched former Combate champion Dwayne Haskins with a spectacular first round knockout.

Can Blazej make the step up or is it time for Jones to assert his dominance?

HEAVYWEIGHT: Gyukosho Fujimoto vs. Richard Rockefeller

With ten knockout wins in the Combate banner, it seems super necessary to have forty-knockout veteran Gyukosho Fujimoto on the Combate 100 card. A three-time Combate heavyweight title challenger, the Japanese heavy hitter will hope a victory gives him some hope in the 265lbs division.

Fujimoto welcomes former WCF champion and fellow knockout artist Richard Rockefeller to the promotion, with the twenty-five year old adding some youth to the division. Rockefeller will hope to add a veteran like Fujimoto to his resume on his Open ID debut having spent two months out of action.

LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT: Ruslan Karelin vs. Dwayne Haskins

Ruslan Karelin has only lost to Dwayne Haskins and Mohammed Kahn in Combate, having seemingly breezed past every other light heavyweight contender outside of the two. In this his third fight against Haskins, Karelin will hope to secure victory that keeps him in title contention at 205lbs.

Haskins, much like Karelin has only recently suffered defeats to Mohammed Kahn and co-main event star Jeremy Jones. This marks a key fight for both men on a landmark night in Rio de Janeiro.

WELTERWEIGHT: Vlad Tepes III vs. Henry Lancaster

Fresh from title fight heartbreak for Vlad Tepes III, the welterweight will look to defeat an old rival in a rematch from June 2021 against Henry Lancaster.

Tepes III took the decision victory on that occasion, but could Lancaster taste victory on this occasion to remain in the upper echelons of the welterweight division?

FEATHERWEIGHT: My Time vs. Balagot Liu

Former featherweight champion My Time has bounced back in impressive fashion from his five-fight skid, having picked up back-to-back victories over Calixto Cardona and Action Bastard. Time will complete a trilogy against fellow former champion Balagot Liu at this landmark event.

Both men hope a key victory will mark an upturn in form, with both having won just 2 of their last 7 bouts. Who will come out on top in this trilogy bout?

HEAVYWEIGHT: Barron White vs. Kimbo Slice

Former Blaze Brothers heavyweight king and WCF contender Barron White will hope to build on his successful promotional debut win over Hip Hop by adding a Tycoon legend to his record.

Former P4P #1, Syn, CEC and original Combate world champion Kimbo Slice makes his 60th walk to the cage at the age of 44 to continue his incredible career. Slice has won 16 of his last 18, having recently defeated Techno Viking under the SFL banner.

Up and comer meets legend, could Kimbo make another run at Combate?!

LIGHTWEIGHT: Verneri Ahma vs. Domenico Mazziotti

It's hard to imagine a Combate event to mark such a landmark without long-term lightweight champion Verneri Ahma, who joined the promotion during the PANDA merger in February 2021. Ahma is another one who wants to remain in title contention, with his opponent having just lost a title matchup.

Domenico Mazziotti was handed a title shot on his promotional debut, but slid to a second-round knockout defeat to Jacque Joteel. The Italian will hope to make an impressive showing on his second appearance to mark his arrival in the promotion.

HEAVYWEIGHT: Alexandros Stamatis vs. Juju Baraka

A true knockout artist, Alexandros Stamatis has won all 36 of his victories by knockout. The Greek heavyweight joined as part of the PANDA merger and has always acted as almost a gatekeeper to the top five at heavyweight. He'll hope a win over Baraka can set up some big fights.

Juju Baraka makes his Combate debut having competed in SFL, CFC and HFC. With ten knockouts to his name, this one could lead to another bonus seeking KO on Saturday night.

FEATERWEIGHT: Calixto Cardona vs. Hratch Tzien

Another mainstay in the promotion, Calixto Cardona will make his 21st appearance for Combate this Saturday, something only bettered by Action Bastard. Recently sliding to three consecutive defeats, the 35-year-old will hope to prove there's still life as he completes a trilogy against Hratch Tzien.

Hratch Tzien has struggled to show his best since joining Combate, but will hope finally picking up a victory over Calixto Cardona at the third attempt will prove he can compete at the top level.
