I always check the "looking for contract" box and yet in the past month have gotten several annoyed "i dont want a contract leave me alone".... So if you have fighters that you want to just have QFC'ing or whatever don't leave the "looking for contract" box checked - which it is by default then bloody moan when you get offers. If they're bitching about you sending them a contract, they were never gonna sign with you anyway. Just be pleasant (or ignore) and move on to the next one.
