  1. Man what... the... entire... FUCK....? I mean, the whole entire FUCK... Ive been inactive as shit and decided enough is enough, i gotta get back to the game and the first thing i run into is this shit? Back in my active days i really liked both of these guys, wouldnt have expected this shit but come to think of it i did used to maul their fighters fairly easily and didnt realize Aaron was #2 at one time... that shouldve been a red ass flag... All in all im thoroughly disappointed. Good job Mike.

  2. Yo guys, calm down. It's just an award that basically means nothing. I play the game to have fun in my free time, I can enjoy it without an award. No need to argue about something useless.

  3. OK, so this sucks but here goes. To cut a long story short, I'm having to delete Wolf and Aaron for cheating. The long story: Back in October 2015 when I started converting the site to a mobile site, Aaron helped me out and converted maybe 30 odd pages of the 200ish pages. I gave him a folder in FTP so he could check the pages were working properly. He was someone I'd talked to plenty of times, had him on Skype, he lives in the same city as me and actually works less than a mile away from my house, so I trusted him with that access. There was nothing important in that folder so I didn't really give it much of a second thought and actually forgot all about it. Since then, I'd talked to Aaron plenty more, have written an article for his fightplatform site, which he gave me admin access to etc.. However, a couple of weeks ago, some guys from the game came to me and pointed out that Wolf and Aaron had some very weird stuff going on in their gyms. Their fighters didn't appear to be training, yet were high skilled. So I checked it out and it was indeed fishy - they'd edited their fighters somehow to be far better than they should have been (including hiddens) but I didn't know how. As I say, I'd totally forgotten that I'd ever given him FTP at this point (this year's been pretty hectic with my first kid, getting married etc... turns out that stuff makes you pretty forgetful). So anyway, me and my programmer (and also people helping from the game) spent a couple of weeks trying to figure it out, programming in checks etc under the assumption it was SQL injection, access to an admin panel or through the forums maybe (hence the arcade disappearing, if you noticed that). It would have been nice to just ask straight up but we couldn't really risk that in case they did anything dodgy... I mean, we thought they were pretty sound people who were just fucking around and not doing anything malicious but you never know. So after programming a load of checks, we couldn't figure out what they were doing, so I just asked Wolf straight up yesterday and he fessed up straight away. I'm grateful for that, cos he could have been a dick about it and played dumb or given a false lead. Instead he apologised and told me straight away. It wasn't a total waste of time doing all those checks because it's useful to have them in place anyway. To explain what they actually did - basically nothing existing on the site was compromised, Aaron just wrote his own script, uploaded it to that FTP folder and ran it to edit their fighters' skills. Obviously I've deleted that FTP account now. I'm not actually deleting them, I've just changed their passwords for now and done a forced logout. I'll delete them properly once their fights are all done then retire the fighters to the Bahamas. All finances have been removed etc. I'm not editing their hype as that would screw over people they're fighting. Oh and if I've been shit at replying to your emails the last few weeks, this is why; it's been pretty stressful / busy. To pre-empt some questions. 1. Are you a fucking moron? Yup. Never trust anyone apparently. 2. How long's it been going on? I dunno, I haven't asked yet. I've only spoken to Wolf briefly. Aaron is in Thailand so I'll talk to him when he gets back. 3. Are any of the other alliance members in on it? We looked at their fighters and they looked OK. A couple of them aren't training properly but their fighters' skills look fairly representative of the amount of training they'd done. 4. What happens to fights that are already booked? I have set all their hiddens to 1, so if you're fighting one of them you've basically got a free win. If you want me to just cancel a booked fight if you are fighting one of them, let me know and I will do that. I've also cleared all finances. 5. Was the Russian hack anything to do with it? It wasn't them but maybe indirectly. I asked someone from the game to download a tool to try and find SQL injection possibilities. That tool might have been dodgy and sent that hack attempt our way if it sent a list of sites using the tool back to the programmers. If it was totally unrelated then it's a massive coincidence because we were using the tool that day and the day before. 6. Can you undo a result against their fighters for me? If people feel really strongly about it, I can write a script. I am OK with doing that but I would personally prefer to move on from wasting time on this as it's already wiped out 2 weeks. As it's my fault though, obviously I will do what people prefer.

  5. The title is supposed to say 2017 instead of 2016. This is going to be the fifth pick'em league thread. I'm going to take the picks from the individual pick'em events for all UFC PPV's and Fight Nights that happen on Fox/FS1/FS2 and Main Cards from Fight Pass Events and TUF finales (if I remember) starting with UFC FIGHT NIGHT RODRIGUES VS PENN. The list below is the events UFC.com has on their schedule, it will be updated as they add more or change things (like if you notice there isn't a UFC 209 on the list). This is a pay to play league with all money to be distributed to three prizes in the end. Also with PTP, people who make picks in the pick'em threads that haven't paid will not be included in the league. The fee is 20k and go ahead and send it to me when you like prior to the fight night listed above. So, if you're interested please reply to this post. 8. Currently there are 301 gyms in the game. 194 are private, or 64.4%. Many of the public ones have 0 or just a couple of coaches, or are in poor condition and/or are super over-crowded. Private gyms were meant, I think, to be a money pit, but also to be something "special". Because of the economics of the game, they aren't "special". Not counting Cozad, I would guesstimate that at least half of the remaining fighters are in private gyms. It's time to do away with the limits as they don't serve a purpose. Gyms don't make money unless they are overcrowded and the training becomes worthless. The fighters in those gyms are at a steep disadvantage. Mike, you stated that one of the reasons you didn't want to allow more fighter slots is that it would possibly make the game feel overwhelming to the new managers. I wager that being stuck in a shithole gym while your opposition gets elite training is equally overwhelming. Removing the caps would invariably make private gyms be more of a money sink AND it would allow for better training in public gyms as well. Better training all around and at 64% private gym ownership already existing, it's not like there's some bigger advantage to be gained at the top. It would help the bottom fighters much more than the top. Which, IMO, is a good thing for the game.

  16. A spectre is haunting MMATycoon – the spectre of The [insert number here] Musketeers. The following harrowing interview was conducted by our brave journalist, Trent McReporterson. http://www.icrewz.com/wp-content/files/Multi-Media-News-Reporter.jpg The first emotion I felt as I entered the den of the fearsome Musketeers was, naturally, one of intimidation. These swashbuckling rapscallions decreed from on high their intentions in no uncertain terms. As I entered Ryan Epicity was on the tail end of a clearly rousing speech “The Iron is hot! The time to strike is nigh! The game is ours!” he bellowed. I had anticipated that my reporting from Beirut and Fallujah would prepare me for the most frightening this world had to offer. I was wrong. I made my way up to the most handsome of the Musketeers, one G Wad. Already on edge by the sheer magnitude of his presence, I fumbled out the following question in a manner unbecoming of a professional journalist. "Ehh Sir Wad. Your new alliance is really something isn’t it?" Raising his eyebrows in a subtle yet telling fashion, he surveyed me from head to toe as a shiver ran down my spine. At long length he replied, in a calm but firm voice, “The name is Sir G Wad and I would ask you kindly to avert your gaze when you address me, peasant.” Not a good start but if my extensive interviews with the Mujahideen has taught me anything, it is that you must press on. He mercifully turned his head for a moment to order another flagon of ale which allowed me to collect myself. “Quite right,” I said, as he turned around. I hurriedly reached into my bag to grab a notebook into which I buried my head for the rest of the interview so as not to further antagonize this spectacle of a man. “Tell me about your new alliance then, good sir.” “And what an alliance it is!” he said, now quite animated, and took a huge gulp out of his flagon. “This is not an alliance that will compete for the top. We are the top. People are already flocking from hither and thither to pay tribute to our magnificence.” I could not argue with the man but I had come here for a story, not PR. I wanted to judge his reaction to other esteemed voices in the Tycoon community. “What do you make of all this business between Ryan, yourself and CK? I have seen him post in increased frequency these last few days,” I asked. “Who?” Replied G Wad? “Chris Karter?”, I said, slightly taken aback. G Wad then beckoned to the barmaid who promptly brought him a few papers which he quickly began perusing. He was searching for a good 2 minutes before a quick query with the barmaid elucidated that this document was a list of full manager rankings. Finally, he said, “I can’t find him.” “Maybe try the second page” I said, reassuringly. G Wad let out a vocal grunt and said “I never knew there was a second page.” Finally, down near the bottom, at rank 108, G Wad found him. “Oh that guy, yea sure. Truly remarkable knowledge of statistics, if I recall correctly. What of him?” “Do you have any comments on some of his recent posts?” “I try not to pay too much attention to rabble rousers,” he replied, dismissively. “But you have to admit he carries a large reputation. Most in the community would be proud to be compared to the man,” I said, hoping this would stoke a reaction. G Wad calmly flicked a speck of dust from his tunic and said, “So CK is the standard of excellence in men now? I would argue that that is an overly generous barometer for a street cretin let alone our elite troupe. If you take CK’s unenviable characteristics as a sort of average, you would have to conclude that 90% of the population is ‘tall’ and 99% of the population is ‘well-endowed’.” Stealing another glance at G Wad’s face I added, “You didn’t mention anything about the hair.” G Wad recoiled slightly before replying, “I try not to dwell on things that make me nauseous. Next question please.” Pressing on, as this was the story I had been tasked to uncover, I said “There have been other trolls who have said…” Cutting me off before I could finish, G Wad, back to his more dismissive tone, said, “If you are referring to Shiftas, you must be having a laugh to even consider him as such. In fairness to him I heard that Wolf and Aaron lowered his IQ attribute to 10. The lowest it’s supposed to go is 75. Some say that that was how they got caught.” “Hmm, that explains the rumors I heard about him and his best friend Rain Thunder. I heard that their favorite thing to do is sit together for hours and count each other brain cells,” I replied. An astonished G Wad, retorted, “I am surprised that they can count to 6.” “That’s why it takes them hours”, I answered, nodding. All this talk of lesser members of the Tycoon community had clearly caused G Wad to lose interest. “Anyway, I think that will be all for today,” he said, turning his back. With nothing left to do, I slunk out… [update: At the moment this interview was conducted Christopher Karter had, what we call in the industry, a shit rank. We would like to congratulate him on his remarkable overachievement to get within 50 ranks of the lowest ranked Musketeer]

  20. Karter's win: A QFC Fight It's a shame we haven't had more fights Christopher. I had this naive idea that after moving the bulk of my roster into orgs like Evo, Syn and CEC we would have the opportunity to fight each other more often. Alas, seems as if the only place one can find you is in QFCs and ID orgs. Pity.

  31. what a RIDICULOUS thing to say...QFC abuse and low level orgs.... Where are noob managers SUPPOSED to fight ? For a noob manager to fight in top orgs requires him to get a FA...and that sure as hell aint no test of the manager when he is using a fighter SOMEONE ELSE created and trained..... I consider the noob manager results using FA to be WORTHLESS in determining how well a manager has learned the game. There is so much more to it than the fight itself ha? So lets stay real ok?

  32. Okay, for one... Anderson Silva never got a title shot at 205 because he would of lost (or the feared the potential of a loss) at the time and he was their golden boy. Let's just make that clear. There's a reason why he was literally fed hand-picked opponents at 205 and it was to protect him and his unbeatable image. He was their human highlight reel and in order to keep that going, they needed to be very selective with his matchmaking. Conor brings a shit ton of money to the table. Is it fair? No, but he deserves to fight for whatever title he wants at this point. He killed Aldo with 1 punch lol. Would it happen again? Probably not 1, but more than likely kick Aldo's ass. Did he deserve a title shot at 155? Hmmm.... If he was your employee and you owned the UFC, would you deny the opportunity to make three times as much money from PPV as you normally would? Chael Sonnen got a title shot at Jon Jones @ 205 for cryin out loud lol.

  40. QFC fight skills were even, unlike the matchup you got @ VCL by giving the org owner a rim job. 5 out of my 6 active vets are in top 10 orgs, 3 fighters in top 3 ranked orgs. The other guy is KT fighter in the #1 KT org. Other 11 fighters on my roster are 270K or younger (3 x 270k) (2 x 280k) (6 x 300k) p.s. don't mistake EVO for a top org. It's a hype farm dumpster where jug's buddies can hand-select opponents and can crush in return for sexual favors.
