  4. I kinda have to disagree with that. First of all, Jay has been doing a phenomenal job of making sure the Times keeps its diversity by including as many types of write-ups as possible. But he can only work with what he's been given and as he's already mentioned, the Times doesn't come out as frequently as it used to. If there are more articles of one type - and most of the articles come from orgs - it's only natural that he has to make choices on who to publish. Quality should always come first imo and I personally think Jay has done splendid work in that regard. But if there are multiple articles on the same level and you have to choose between a small org and a big org, isn't it only natural to choose a big org because of name recognition? If a real-life newspaper had a choice to make between two stories to run of equal value but one was about a big-time organization and the other about a small one, wouldn't they choose the big one every single time?

  10. As ovo said it's RGN, the fight was too short to even out the stats to the sliders %'s. Remember at 20% on combo's since it's an absolute slider on average 1 out of 5 moves is a combo attempt. The TD slider is also an absolute slider so whatever % your set it at is the average attempt per number of moves over time. Set that to 20% like combo's and in a short fight you may get no attempts or get 3 missed TD attempts in a short fight under 2 minutes. The fight just didn't go long enough to average out.

  15. Review of Dynasty 1: Genesis Dynasty's first show is in the record books. And what a success it was! Basically over night Dynasty K-1 became the biggest Kick Boxing organization at this point in time. By virtue of one show, a strong line up and a massive main event. So let's reflect how this commercial kick start came along. The first bout of the evening started things in style, as Aldo O Donno knocked Bornas Lopette dafuq out! It would later be acknowledged as the knockout of the night hand had the Japanese commentators at ringside going absolutely nuts! We all know and love how that sounds, even though we don't understand a word of it. But luckily the language of violence is internationally spoken. Sort of like Esperanto, just not as peaceful. But let's see the footage of this glorious moment again: Lopette is rocked! This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! O Donno lands a jab to Lopette's midsection. Oh Lopette is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Lopette walks into a picture perfect straight right hand from O Donno! He's gone down face first to the canvas, unconscious before he even hit the floor! Ohhhh. My. Goodness! That boys and girls was a beautiful knockout! Give that man a biscuit! Lopette went down like French Fries go down a fat man's throat! Absolutely amazing! The audience was in a buzzing state right away, to readily go “ah” and “oh” all over the place, as soon as things were picking up within the following fights. Which pretty much is the Japanese equivalent of the roof flying off. The next two fights went the distance, when Ozzie Price beat Chang Sung Aoki and Morgan Wade bested Slawomir Schmidt. Both got the nod in unanimous fashion and rightfully so. Even though Wade's win was somewhat close and probably his leg kicks made the difference. Price however absolutely dominated Aoki with more output and way more efficiency as well. Aoki was basically only hanging on by being very tough. The fourth fight between Leonardo Atunes and Oberion McKane ended in a draw …. but the fight warranted it. Atunes had the much more active kicking game and was more accurate with his punches. But when Oberion decked him in the third, Atunes was just holding on with the skin of his teeth! In the end the judges ruled it a draw. Not the most satisfying ending but given all that transpired in the fight, it was understandable. In the next fight Ted Mosby knocked Arzlan Bathory out early in the third. It was a grim war of attrition, mostly fought in the clinch with both men bleeding. That somehow got Bathory all delighted. He was constantly licking his lips and ruined his mouthpiece, as he bit down on it. But maybe this awkwardly lustful excitement (wherever it came from) was the reason, why he didn't see the punch coming that eventually flattened him. The next fight went down to the delight of the more patriotic Japanese fans in attendance, as Kenuichio Harada mollywhopped the bloody hell out of Bonesaw McGraw. In a very lopsided fight the Japanese local hero dominated the clinch and punched McGraw to a bloody pulp. Arguably the fight could' ve been stopped earlier than it was. Because McGraw had one nasty cut going on. Eventually the fight was stopped very late in the third, when McGraw failed to adequately answer the referees count. It is a testament to his toughness (and also a bit scary) that he was even still awake. The next fight went exactly as long as butchering of MvGraw, however it told an entirely different story. It was a hard fought battle, where Erik Kramer was getting the better of Will Dearbron, despite it being a seemingly close fight, Kramer was likely to be ahead on most if not all scorecards, simply by edging it in about every department (safe for punches). But 16 seconds before the end of round number three Kramer failed to answer the referees count after being floored by a combination. He had this probably in the bag but allowed himself to go into an open exchange with Dearborn that would change it all. Let's cut to the footage: * during the entire scene you can hear bat-shit crazy Japanese commentators from the neighboring broadcast table, sounding like Raving Rabbids on crack cocaine * Kramer misses with a low kick as Dearborn jumps back. Kramer lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise. Kramer throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Dearborn fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Kramer throws a body kick. Dearborn tries to catch it but that hurt him. Kramer connects with a high kick. Kramer throws a quick inside leg kick. Dearborn is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kramer. Kramer shapes to counter with a head kick. Kramer takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Dearborn takes a kick to the side of the head. Dearborn lands a right and a left and another right! Kramer goes down! Oh, he's in big, big trouble! 3,4,5,6,7,8... he's up to one knee... 9,10! He can't beat the count - this one is all over! The drama and glory of this fight made it the acknowledged upon fight of the night. The next fight saw Alex John Conor Burns and Michael D. Amato go the distance. In the end Burns got his hand raised. He dominated the fight pretty much wherever it went and was awarded the unanimous decision victory by the judges. The co-main event was to crown the very first Welterweight Champion of Dynasty K-1. Arthur Pinto faced Chuck Norris Jr. for the 170 strap. Despite Pinto suffering a cut in the first round, he went on to dominate the fight. Over the full distance of five rounds he outworked and outgunned Norris. Pinto won every round in the eyes of all three judges for being the more active and more accurate fighter. Proving that he is indeed the guy to beat at 170. Then of course, the main event. One of the most talked about fights in recent times. Between two men, neither of which being an actual kick boxer ironically. But both being MMA fighters of legendary renown. The talk of course is about Kajun Puno, the acknowledged p4p kingpin of MMA and a man, who was formerly held in equal regard: Randolph Turpin. A super fight that many fans never expected to happen. Much less in a kick boxing rules match. And yet it was the fight that not only did happen, but basically put Dynasty K-1 on the map overnight, nonchalantly declaring it the capitol of kick boxing while it was at it. The fight itself was not the epic back and forth battle that many pundits and fans alike would have loved it to be. While Turpin proved that he still has the power by cutting Puno open with his very first hit, it also would end up being one of only two significant strikes that he landed. Other than that Puno worked him over, was WAY more active and eventually returned the favor, cutting Turpin open and then send him down crashing to the floor after two and a half minutes. After the fight, Kajun Puno was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly. Randolph Turpin spoke after the fight, saying 'I've had a great career, can't complain, good luck to the kid.'. Dynasty 1: Genesis proved to be the big success that it needed to be as far as establishing the org as the place for kick boxers to be goes. But the really interesting question is how it will stack up against MMA. Because while Dynasty K-1 accomplished to jump at the top of the kick boxing world, it still is a very small world. The most ambitious goal of Dynasty K-1 however, will require a much longer breath than a few big shows. The goal to put kick boxing more or less on an equal footing with MMA. A standing which it didn't have in a very long time. The fact that it took two MMA legends to provide the show with the super main event it needed, attests to the ambitious, almost daunting nature and necessity of this long term goal.

  17. June 2017 recap part 2 By Alika Webb The first part of June was action-packed from start to finish, let’s keep the good times rolling as we take a look at the second part. GAMMA#641 Hanolla v Jimenez – June 17 185 title - Jutta Hanolla © Vs Jimmy Dias Jimenez Jutta "Hammer" Hanolla came into GAMMA with a bang as he dethroned middleweight champion Steve Belliveau in his promotional debut. The former USFC and Trinity middleweight champion knew from first-hand experience that you aren’t really recognized as a true champion until you’ve defended your belt at least once. Set to spoil his Hanolla’s first reign as champion in GAMMA is Jimmy "BrokeBack" Dias Jimenez. Never been crowned a champion at 36 years of age really weighed heavy on the mind of Diaz Jimenez and he figured the time was right to try his hand at another title shot before time ran out on him. Both men are veteran strikers and they aren’t known for pulling their punches as they have a combined 41 knockouts on their resume. Title opportunities don’t grow on trees and at the age of 36, Jimmy Dias Jimenez knew that this could be his last shot at greatness. He knew that he had to pull out all the stops and went for broke as he came storming out of the gate. Jimmy Dias Jimenez started out strong, blasting the champion with an armada of clobbering blows that had the champion tucking tail right from the start. The challenger closed the distance and the champion pulled guard faster than his own shadow. The tides turned and now Jutta Hanolla was putting the hurt on his challenger as he had the challenger in some nasty looking submissions. The challenger however survived the round and appeared to be unscathed as the brutal assault of the challenger started all over again. Jimmy Dias Jimenez closed the distance once more and started unloading on the champion with everything he had in his arsenal. Hanolla kept trying to jump into guard but the challenger is not your average joe and he was able to keep the fight standing until the champion dropped to his knees in defeat. Winner: Jimmy Dias Jimenez by TKO (strikes) after 3 minutes and 32 seconds in the third round. GAMMA#642 Shin v McTearson – June 17 170 title - Lao Shin © Vs Rufus McTearson Considering that Rufus McTearson dominated the welterweight scene for a long time in his heyday and Lao Shin has been mixed in the title scene for what seems like an eternity, it is surprising to see that the current and former champion’s paths have not yet crossed. When Rufus McTearson lost his title and saw his career plummeting into a dark abyss, Lao Shin had just worked his way up to the top. When Lao Shin kept going back and forth with living legends like Ilya Mstislav Volkov and Stanly Williams with welterweight supremacy hanging in the balance, Rufus McTearson had his own demons to battle as his struggles inside the cage kept pushing him further down the card. Somewhere along the way something snapped inside the former champion’s head and Rufus McTearson at 39 years of age, the old veteran amassed a four fight winning streak to prove he still had something left in the tank. Fighting time, Rufus McTearson has clawed his way back to the top and he made it known that he would stop at nothing to gain back what he once lost so long ago. With two elite fighters with such vast experience at the top, people were expecting fireworks. The champion Lao Shin did not take the former champion lightly as he went swinging for the fences right from the start, undoubtedly trying to take out the veteran as fast as possible. While he did do his fair share of damage by swinging like a madman, his aggressive strategy did see him striking air more than once. Rufus McTearson on the other hand - the veteran that he is – took on a more cautious approach, focusing more on accuracy rather than damage as he was undeniably looking to outwork the champion and possible softening the champion up before going in for the kill in the championship rounds. The chin of Rufus McTearson, who has never lost by strikes was put to the test as the grazing blows of Lao Shin had him seeing stars and a glancing head kick even put him on his backside. But no matter how hard he was struck down, Rufus McTearson got back up to his feet and went right back to changing blows. Both fighters put in a tremendous effort and had the crowd on their feet multiple times throughout the fight. Winner: Nobody as the fight was ruled a draw. GAMMA#643 Wolek v Sackett – June 24 135 title - Underestimated Dillashaw Junior © Vs Nico World Citizen One thing we know for sure is that Nico World Citizen did not overlook Underestimated Dillashaw Junior. The champion brought the fight to the challenger and the challenger responded in kind. Nico World Citizen did a good job keeping up with the champion but at times it looked as if he were fighting an uphill battle. The champion set a relentless pace and Nico World Citizen regularly interrupted the champion’s rhythm with a clinch attempt. The champion eventually learned the hard way that sometimes it’s worth slowing things down to get a better perspective of the situation you find yourself in. Nico World Citizen managed to get a good grasp of the champion’s timing over the previous four rounds and when he saw an opportunity to strike, he uncorked a huge combination that sent Underestimated Dillashaw Junior crashing to the canvas. Winner: Nico World Citizen by TKO (strikes) after 3 minutes and 25 seconds in the fifth round. 145 superfight - Mordecai Sackett (EVOLUTION) Vs Lukasz Wolek (GAMMA) The current number two pound for pound fighter in the world wanted to prove himself a force to be reckoned with and thus he keeps on boldly challenging the best opposition the whole wide world has to offer. Mordecai "Golden Boy" Sackett is the Evolution lightweight champion but he gladly dropped eleven pounds to take on the Gamma bantamweight champion Lukasz "Wally" Wolek. A warrior that goes to amazing lengths to meet a challenge not many dare to undertake, one can only respect the heart of the Evolution champion. When they stood toe to toe they went all out and brawled all over the arena. Despite Lukasz Wolek taking the lead in their little dance, Mordecai Sackett did not dance out of step. He traded every strike back in kind. Every clobbering blow Lukasz Wolek launched, was thrown back with lethal force by Mordecai Sackett. Every wood chopping kick Lukasz Wolek attempted was reflected back to him by Mordecai Sackett. The timing and accuracy of Lukasz Wolek gave him a small advantage but eventually the difference maker turned out to be the clinch game. When Lukasz Wolek managed to close the distance, he reduced his opponent to minced meat. Winner: Lukasz Wolek by unanimous decision.

  22. Avon's a legend with legendary fighters. Very few will remember Chico because he bitched out and rage-quit after I smacked one of his fighters around, accused me of cheating, and couldn't handle the trash talk lol. He returned to mostly stat pad and can-crush in QFC 2 with his inactive guys. Never understood his desire to stat-pad to the degree he went to though, cuz he was considered one of the handful of top guys. Not HOF worthy imo because he failed to adapt after the counter era nerf and I think his highest ranked fighter was Cee Digits @ #2. Shame he folded. BHP was a worthwhile rival for a long time until Dean killed Bowser.

  27. IMO there is some value in teaching new players how to create instant-winning builds and give them a taste of the game. after all who wants to find a new online game, get all excited, then spend months watching a project develop their skills without ever having an actual fight? but this is limited. if the mentor is teaching only how to create 25 y/o then this is a problem. that new player is probably play for a few months then have a meltdown and leave.
    1 point
  28. Still, it depends on the mentor. My mentor knew only how to make 25yo(and looking at it now, not the best possible builds) and basic QFC sliders. When I started asking how to develop projects, how to do ground sliders etc., he wasn't able to give an adequate answer so I had to find everything by myself and took many Ls in order to test sliders. Good thing with this game is that it has a never ending learning curve lol. Also much of the info on forums is wrong - you gotta lock Duphus in some corner and make a complete investigation.
    1 point
  29. In that case, how about we limit one company to having a max only one article a month? Or one manager etc. That way, we'll get the top org stuff as well as the new stuff? Just an idea. Tycooner, Deuce7 seems to be willing to take it up. How does that sound?

  30. Lol my fav part of the match I had: Fav comment in fight so far: Fifteen clips De Oca with a right and a left that makes him do the chicken dance for a couple of seconds. He touched his left hand down on the canvas so the referee steps between the fighters to give De Oca a standing 8 count before we can continue the bout

  42. Viv Richards HOF induction Managed by Whymer Van Mastodon, Fought from 2015-06-27 to 2016-12-24, his record inside GAMMA 16-6-0, Highest all time rank is #5. He also came 3rd in the rankings for 2016 for the fighter of the year award among GAMMA fighters, competed in 10 title fights and is a former 185lbs champion with a total of 12 fight of the night awards. His biggest wins are over Diego Sanchez, Karl Denke, Hektor Troy, Scotty Bennet, Willy Stoppers, Tony Siblas. Upon retirement Viv was ranked 32nd all time among GAMMA fighters and 5th all time among 185lbs fighters. This is also the 4th fighter Whymer has had inducted in our HOF, just one below Gale Hawthorne who has 5. A former product of Matt Cave, Viv joined GAMMA late in his career, so the fact that he managed a total of 22 fights is very impressive.

  45. Please don't compare a fictional newspaper on an online text based game to a real life newspaper because... well I hopefully don't need to explain that. All I'm saying is in the interest of the games progression give the smaller orgs and new guys preference. Mentor isn't going to leave this game if one of his 8 gamma write ups submitted everyday doesn't feature in the times, but it could put off new guys who see this elitist culture and feel too distanced from it and can't catch a break

  46. Okay, so, hear me out here. I think the game should add PEDs to the game. Super powered, they help pop a fighters ability to another level. But, you can be caught, and if you are the wind you got on it are turned over to NCs or DQs. I know this kind of sounds stupid but I think it would add a unique feature to the game.
