  9. gyms are so generic. boring. elite coaches. nothing but. why even have skill levels for coaches at this point? is there a such a thing as a proficient, strong coach in the game? I don't think mikes vision for gyms ever materialized. i think that gyms were broken/out of adjustment from the get go and it's just more than he could ever do to fix them. Or the real reason being it's more than the community would ever have allowed him to do. the community would not allow him to fix private gyms and money laundering. the old days were like the wild wild west and the gangsters ran the town. but gyms would be so much more dynamic if retired fighters were hired to be the coaches at gyms. this game has been around for plenty long enough to have a really strong database of retired fighters for hire to be coaches. the beauty of retired fighters being coaches is the "hidden" impact. retired fighters possess authentic fighter skill sets cultivated organically from actually being apart of the game. not just a generic 150 elite and useless everywhere else coach. But the gem here is they have unknown hidden attributes that could be utilized and add a whole other level to gym ownership and training. if coaches could pass on their hidden attributes through training....even if for a short term boost just how dynamic could training fighters become at that point? especially since hiddens are guesswork to begin with. gym selection would be important coach selection would be critical gym management would become fluid and dynamic vs boring and stagnant

  15. (I know this has been brought up many times, this is in the hope that Mike sees this and agrees its a good idea). Since we have been able to buy more fighter slots (a couple of years or more now?) the number of coach skill points in a gym should have been increased, at least by 600 points. Its just out of step with our modern Mmatycoon rosters. Cheers!

  20. Group D Weekly Round Up – Opening Round 1.1 (19th Jan 2019) Roar Dinosuar Jr v Alan Odrobny (Dinosuar Jr def. Odrobny by Sub, 03:48 Rd 1) Second seed Roar Dinosuar provided little surprise with a submission win over Polish brawler Alan Odrobny in the first round. It wasn’t entirely straight forward however as Odrobny was able to get a little offence in of his own in the clinch and even opening up a cut on Dinosuar Jr’s face before being taken down. Roar Dinosuar Jr will now meet Heitor Machado in what could be an extremely tough fight against a superior jiu-jitsu fighter. Alan Odrobny faces Johannes Boe and that one should also be a very tough fight Heitor Machado v Bubba Sparxxx (Machado def. SparXXX by Sub, 03:55 Rd 1) Heitor Machado was one of the only seeded fighters not predicted a top three spot come the end of this opening round but he managed to get of to a winning start against predicted struggler Bubba Sparxxx. Sparxx threw with power but was unable to land much on the feet before Machado predictably hit the take down and found the submission finish. Machado will now go into what is likely to be an extremely important clash for Group D’s overall standings as he meets predicted group winner Dinosuar Jr. Machado is slightly favoured in this fight For Sparxxx, he meets Marcus St Stone and while he will be fresh for the fight, St Stone will be nursing a fairly significant cut that might boost Sparxxx confidence from the start Marcus St Stone v Prince Thick (Thick def. St Stone by TKO, 01:15 Rd 1) Prince Thick took a step towards living up his distinction of being the only non-seeded fighter to finish in a top three spot with a competent display of striking against Marcus St Stone. St Stone pressed for the clinch throughout the short fight but it was in the end his undoing as Thick was able to beat him to the punch inside and picked up the TKO win in a little over a minute of the first round. Thick now meets Daniel Bradshaw in next weeks fight and that will be definitely be an interesting one while disaster for Marcus St Stone who goes into a tough fight against Bubba Sparxxx with a nasty cut that will not have a chance to heal Daniel Bradshaw v Johannes Boe (Bradshaw def. Boe by Dec) Johannes Boe was expected to triumph in his opening round fight but it was Daniel Bradshaw who managed to pick up the win after a three round clinch fest was ruled in his favour. Bradshaw now moves into the 4th spot in the group with 2 Points and will face off against Prince Thick in next weeks bout. Johannes Boe faces a tough match up against brawler Alan Odrobny and that will be made even harder with a niggling injury that he will carry into it.

  21. Group C Weekly Round Up – Opening Round 1.1 (19th Jan 2019) Kyle Cruz v Legend Broly (Broly def. Cruz by Forfeit) An issue with weight has left seeded fighter Kyle Cruz ineligible to progress in the tournament which is a shame as he looked solid against predicted struggler Legend Broly in this opening round of fights. Of course what this means is that a qualifying spot now opens up to one of the fighters that wasn’t predicted to make it and that will make things very interesting as we progress from here. Broly might not be pleased with the performance even though it will count as a forfeit win but will be pleased that no real injuries or cuts will be taken into next weeks fight against Alf Konrad Amadeo Camara v Amanda Nunes (Nunes def. Camara by KO, 00:58 Rd 1) Quite possibly one of the biggest upsets of this round, number two seed and predicted Group C winner Amadeo Camara was soundly beaten by brawler Amanda Nunes as he was unable to get the fight onto the ground. Camara had plenty of attempts but each time was punished with a heavy shot from the unfancied Nunes. Amanda Nunes next faces another seeded fighter in Abdufatto Zamanov and with one fighter already out of the running for qualification, will definitely want another performance like this in that one. For Camara, though it isn’t panic stations quite yet, this loss will no doubt be troubling to him. He goes into next weeks fight against Kyle Cruz with an injury though no matter the result, it will go down as a forfeit win for him Abdufatto Zamanov v JT Rolli (Zamanov def. Rolli by KO, 03:20 Rd 1) Group C number one seed Abdufatto Zamanov looked very good in this clash of strikers with JT Rolli and was able to bully Rolli around the cage until the end. Perhaps sensing the abilities of Zamanov, Rolli attempted a bold strategy of taking the fight to the ground and also out of range and into the clinch but Zamanov was able to navigate the fight back to where he wanted it and found the KO mid way through round 1. The fight came at a price for both fighters however as significant injuries will now follow into both of their fights next week. Zamanov faces Amanda Nunes who will be riding high after a big win over Amadeo Camara. JT Rolli will face Bishop Heahmund who will be coming in with a win Bishop Heahmund v Alf Konrad (Heahmund def. Konrad by Sub, 01:48 Rd 1) Feeble wrestling was enough on this occasion as Bishop Heahmund was able to triumph in what was predicted to be an extremely tough fight for him against stand up fighter Alf Konrad. Konrad wasn’t afford even an inch to manoeuvre and was taken out of the fight without managing a single offensive or defensive move at all. Big points for Heahmund who will be fresh and raring to go against an injured JT Rolli. Konrad will next meet Legend Broly who though technically beaten, picked up points in a forfeit win and will be eager to put on a much better performance this time around.

  22. Group B Weekly Round Up – Opening Round 1.1 (19th Jan 2019) Hugues Dupont v Jon Bones (Dupont def. Bones by Sub, 00:50 Rd 1) Group B number one seed Hugues Dupont predictably moves into a qualifying spot after one fight with a straight forward win over brawler Jon Bones. Bones wasn’t able to really show us much before being bundled down to the ground and submitted so predicting his chances against Thom Farrier next week will be difficult. Hugues Dupont however faces a tough fight against seeded fighter Victor Slaughter though Slaughter was one of the few seeded fighters to fall in this opening weekend. Victor Slaughter v Sven Eklund (Eklund def. Slaughter by KO, 02:53 Rd 2) All that gardening must have really prepared Sven Eklund for this fight as he got down in the dirt and managed to beat the compost out of predicted favourite Victor Slaughter. Slaughter was relentless in his pursuit for the submission finish but just couldn’t managed to find one before too many shots to the head built up. Victor Slaughter now goes into next weeks bout against number three seed Hugues Dupont on a loss and it couldn’t have come at a worse time Sven Eklund, who was predicted to struggle and miss out on a qualification spot goes into next week with another opportunity to take a seeded fighter scalp as he faces Rick Gallowgate who will be feeling low after his opening round loss. Rick Gallowgate v Tommy Du Mahss (Du Mahss def. Gallowgate by KO, 00:55 Rd 3) Number two seed Rick Gallowgate fell just short of the finish line after a superb back and forth stand up war against Tommy Du Mahss ended a minute into round three. Both fighters had likely secured a round apiece as the went into that final round but it was Du Mahss who was able to dig a little deeper and procure the KO finish. Rick Gallowgate will now have a mountain to climb as he goes into his next fight against Sven Eklund with an injury. Tommy Du Mahss doges a bullet after such a gruelling fight and should be able to get a few days in the gym before next weeks fight against Carlos Junior Carlos Junior v Thom Tharrier (Tharrier def. Junior by TKO, 00:05 Rd 1) This was always going to be a tough fight for BJJ specialist Carlos Junior as he faced striker Thom Tharrier but nobody really predicted such a quick end to the fight. One punch is all it took as Tharrier likely cements the quickest KO prize of the tournament with a five second KO. Both of these fighters were predicted to be scrapping for the final qualifying spot so Tharrier will no doubt feel good about getting the win in this opening weeks round of fights. He now faces Jon Bones next week as the odds-makers have him as the potential favourite in that one. Carlos Junior will need a couple days off with a small injury but he is expected to be fine for next weeks fight against Tommy Du Mahss. If anything it is his ego that might be most bruised but he will need to dig deep now the against striker/submission fighter.

  23. Group A Weekly Round Up – Opening Round 1.1 (19th Jan 2019) Patrick O'Phoenix v Serj Khak (O'Phoenix def. Khak by Sub, 00:52 Rd 1) Group A’s number one seed Patrick O’Phoenix managed to get off to a good start with a first round submission victory over Serj Khak. Khak looked solid however and managed to land everything he threw which may give him confidence going into next weeks fight against Monali Samson. O’Phoenix takes the top spot on time difference and now prepares for a pivotal clash against second seed Okino Naruhiko Okino Naruhiko v Michael Dobson (Naruhiko def. Dobson by TKO, 03:57 Rd 1) A class between two similarly skilled wrestlers was only ever really going to end in one way and on this occasion it was second seed Okino Naruhiko who was able to beat Michael Dobson to the draw and secure the early take down and ground and pound finish. Dobson will be frustrated at his lack of offence in the fight but he will need to clear his mind as he faces a tough fight against submission fighter Regis Petrozuli next week. For Naruhiko, a massive showdown against predicted group A favourite Patrick O’Phoenix comes early and it’s quite possible that the result will determine who finishes top of this opening round group Regis Petrozuli v Harry Tournament (Petrozuli def. Tournament by Sub, 01:57 Rd 1) Super-heavyweight hitter Harry Tournament missed a big opportunity to pick up a win over a seeded fighter in this one but he almost come close as he floored Regis Petrozuli early and opened a big cut on the submission fighters face. Petrozuli was able to gather his senses however and took Tournament off of his feet and from there it was a mere formality as he had Tournament tapping shortly after. Tournament will get a chance to redeem himself next week as he takes on almost a carbon copy of himself in Diego Columbo who also will be looking to bounce back from a loss. Regis Petrozuli faces wrestler Michael Dobson and will probably be considered the favoruite to pick up a submission win Diego Columbo v Mongali Samsom (Samson def. Columbo by Sub, 01:37 Rd 1) Two fighters predicted to struggle in this opening round met in their first fights and on this occasion it was Mongali Samsom who was victorious with a submission victory over Diego Columbo. Columbo, the striker, was game however and looked good at range before being taken down. His performance will no doubt add intrigue to a potential fireworks of a bout against Harry Tournament next week. Mongali Samson faces a tough fight against Serj Khak in his next one but will be eager to keep his winning run going.

  28. oh you're not gonna like my decisions lol. It's nothing against either of you, honestly. At the end of the day i was appointed in charge this year, anyone else had the chance. Unfortunately we are playing with my rules/decisions. Lets move on.

  29. Ok I was gonna put this up to a vote but it will take long an we want to move on and know what funds and shit we got from the last event. If you don't like my decision then that's fine but just accept it and don't DM me or any weird shit like that please. I didn't necessarily want this job and none of us brought it up in the renewing rules phase. Frankly I cant be bothered to go back through threads to see what happened before. My decisions are: 1. Champs entering a new weight class to face another champ get paid UNRANKED money. I know it kinda sucks but it does make sense (at least it does to me right now). They made the decision to hold up the division and face another champ. The risk is losing and only getting paid 2K, the reward of winning would be that he is now worth 50K more and will earn huge in his next fight regardless of weight class. BigIsh, I'm sorry. 2. A DQ will count as a finish. As JLP said the fight did not make it to a decision, it was stopped early due to dirty illegal behavior. I guess that is the risk we take in picking dirty fighters or noob fighters. Sory ML. Let's move on. FallenAngel i get the vibe your keen to post the results lol

  35. ***BREAKING NEWS*** As some of you may have noticed by now, one of the fighters in the tournament has been caught hiding weights in his tracksuit when he weighed in at registration and as a result actually weighs in quite a bit less than the 265lbs limit. Unfortunately the first fight had already been booked when this was brought to attention and has just now taken place. This puts the integrity of the tournament under massive strain and we've been trying to figure out the fairest way for everyone to figure it out. Outright disqualification had been considered and replacements had already been lined up but this still didn't address the fact that a fight had taken place and what was the fair result to give in that? In the end the compromise has been made that the underweight fighter will continue to fight his scheduled fights but will be ineligible to progress further in the tournament. The results of all these fights will be classed as forfeit so that in the end nothing much really changes aside from the face that one fighter will not be able to qualify for the next round. In all seriousness, I don't believe for one second that this was done on purpose and the very fact that the fighter/manager in question is willing to honour his existing commitments goes a long way to prove that.

Again the requirements are you fight all fights in your contract, if you decline a fight, go inactive and don’t accept or whatever and your name is drawn you will forfeit winnings and another name will be drawn. $225k if you don’t win a fight is pretty damn good cash to your managers bank!
