  1. I like the concept itself and would love to see it modelled in the game somehow. Unfortunately I don't think it fits into the current mechanics. In addition to the problems you already listed you typically only do 2 or so amateur/QFC fights with your projects to get the ToT, then you aim for id orgs/pro career. So we are basically talking about test fight orgs here. Also low incentives for new managers to join since they cannot afford to lose money on their fighters. Recruiting and matchmaking seems like a nightmare since fighters will pass through quickly, there will be huge numbers created and sacked at id turns. It would need some different mechanics to work, and the more different = the more development effort which means it will never happen. So what could make it work? Let's say we make some new rules: Pro orgs cannot sign fighters unless they have a certain hype level (75?). Hype from amateur fights are capped (so eventually you cannot gain more from winning there) Hype gain from ama fights are not based on opponent hype but on total skill difference. Fighters can accept a pro contract while under ama contract, a cut then goes to the ama org No manager hype change from ama fights Suddenly amateur orgs fill a need and pro orgs may even want to support them with cash as feeder orgs. Since you have to win some fights to get past the ama stage it introduces some more strategy around builds/training. Learning speed won't matter much for ama fighting, you could play around a bit with a slow learner here fighting younger guys. And the chance of a one-fight ticket to pro contracts gives some incentive for matchups even if the ids doesn't align perfectly. For new managers making it to the pro stage becomes the first challenge, we would need some way for them to earn money, so ama fight pay is needed I think. May not be enough, just throwing out some ideas here on the spot, but I like thinking about game mechanics.
  2. Just back again from having some time off. My post means exactly what I said nothing more nothing less, unless Alfred has something better to bring up you deserve that #1 spot in my book.
  3. No fights against him, don't know him. But on the other hand he has a number of title holders who look pretty good. As long as there wasn't any shady business happening along the way he earned his trophy I guess? But I do think the #1 spot was way too easy to get. I would prefer if fights against the other top 10 managers were more or less required to advance further once you get up there. And required to stay on top.
  4. - "Nero, normal" - "No no you are not introducing us, I don't want anything to do with the manager of my next opponent. Mac warned me of the kinda shit going on here, he'd just be trying to slip something into my drink." Nero Hardy enters the venue where victory celebrations are already in full swing. He looks over to the table where Briggs is sitting with ladies and his manager Jimmy Normal. Shakes his head, "pfft, not much to worry about, might as well celebrate some myself". Nero walks up to the bar where he interrupts Rei in the middle of conversation with a slap on the shoulder: - "Hey boss, whadda you like my sub of the night?" - "Yeah, great fight congrats, but I'm kinda busy right now", Rei says with a slight nod towards the lady he talking to. - "Lots of work?" - "Lots yes", his mouth say, "get lost" his eyes say. - "Yeah, with that draw messing up your bracket.." - "The fucking draw, right, oh shit!" Rei suddenly rushes off, already on the phone. - "Well, hello there, you come here often?" Nero says.. Also DFN has issued a small post-event clarification. Sub of the night went to Diaz, absolutely not to Hardy as many in the audience thought they heard the announcer say. In fact the clarification had some more text, quoting here "...absolutely not to that lowlife flowerboy soon to be dumped in the ocean.. if it only weren't that I cannot lose a fighter from the tournament. Ehh, don't type all that stuff, you just type Hardy". All of it dutifully typed out with japanese efficiency by a DFN secretary.
  5. This is about to go down, time to see who pops a diamond chin.
  6. I have seen before that there is a small delay between him going off the FA list and showing up with his new management. Must be some paperwork to be filled in the background..
  7. Money sent for flower guy, thanks!
  8. It was misery. The kind of misery that just wasn't getting any better with time. He would tell himself "just a few weeks more". Yet, week after week he was still here standing knee-deep in shit and there was still "a few weeks" more to go. Those weeks had already turned into years but now there was finally a light at the end of the pipe, just a few more weeks now. No, he wasn't fooling anyone any more, not even himself. He was in some deep shit here. The place had been a mess from day 1, haphazardly expanded in different directions with no clear plan. Ah the good old days when no one cared and everything seemed easy and fun. And he still had money back then. Yes this fucking economy, now it seemed everyone except him had more money than they knew what to do with. Property prices in the VIP neighbourhoods had inflated something crazy. And here he was still having to sneak out to the dark alley behind a nearby Riga gym every time he had to take a dump. At least slightly more graceful than Pekka. And no one can smell it since it blends so well with the other stuff going on nearby. Besides he had never really liked those private gyms anyway. He tried bringing a couple of the boys over to help several times, but all they would do was complain. He was so fed up with all the complaining. Had they not been impressed when he got that nice belt cabinet installed? They had, standing there looking in awed silence they had. But helped out they had not. Just went right back to the complaining those bastards. He gave them something nice and they just went right back asking about basic plumbing stuff, said there were multiple things smelling of shit, blamed him for the economy even - like what was he supposed to do about that? He ought to show them, give them just what they deserved. But he was all alone. Suddenly light fell on him. Was it them, back again already? No this was a new group of people, armed with various plumbing tools. - Who are you? - We get shit done - Oh thank heavens, right over there, you can start with the leaky.. - Not that kind, the guys you were muttering about, just point us in their direction, send us location.. There were four of them. Like four horsemen, but they were not on horses and not here for him. They were just looking to crush some top P4P dreams. And have fun doing it, like the good old days. Oh, and sometimes clinch-rape you too, yeah comes with the good old days like it or not. The thought of them going off to beat up all the other suckers out there almost brought a smile to his weary face, almost, but then clinching made him think of clinch takedowns and defense.. oh no, better get back to this bathroom, just a few more weeks now. Skenoj - May be young but got the thousand yard stare of an eastern european military and armed with a rolled up Tycoon Times, a weapon from a more civilized time? The raw talent is there, but this young man has not completed his training yet. Luckily he is now with people who can show him the quicker and easier path, how to use his powers for attack and end fights. Mac - Tamer of barbarians and Icelandic strongmen alike Mac once brought his stable of fighters to the top and stayed the undisputed #1 for a long time but then threw it all away after falling in with some internet conspiracy and went off to own nothing and be happy. Back now but is he really there mentally? Gorica - A mystery man unknown to the tycoon world, is he the secret tool of the plumber death squad? The one to do the dirty work? Trained in the ways of Mac-Kun-Do in a remote monastery in Puerto Rico. Don't say we didn't warn you. Not that it will do you any good, you know it's coming but you still won't see it until it's too late, like a Cro Cop headkick. Rei - Infamous for his involvement with the Yakuza and running various shady fight orgs. All the bling in his belt cabinet are just things he produced himself using child labour in his unlicensed cellar workshop. At least this group has one real tycoon to keep things in line and uphold some proper standards. They are The Plumbers
  9. Never been more than two days or so for me.
  10. Didn't think I was gone that long, what tools site are you talking about?
  11. jjsquirrel

    Arena owner

I suppose the arena would go on sale just like a company. In fact it could just be another type of company and use most mechanisms already in place for that.
  12. Yes he is in good hands together with my barbarian. Avenged both his losses now, going for a GSP record.
  13. Yes training did happen now, so are we allowed to create?
  14. Hmm, did training for today run yet? Thought it was later. Just asking because Rei suck at picking creation dates and took the one day I'm away and totally offline this whole month. So if I cannot squeeze a creation in tonight you guys will have to risk the humility of losing to a fighter with one day less training Btw, that fighter above didn't train but still lost energy somehow? Take it easy with the poor guy, he may not be cut of for MMA if he gets tired playing video games.
  15. Voted single elimination but double is just as fine.
  16. It has been up for discussion a couple of times and I think it is clear it is a bad idea to split up divisions further with no difference in gameplay. Not that interested myself, but running it in a single division with some custom avatars, why not really?
  17. Would probably be doable with a "mod". Run some javascript to replace he/she etc. And please don't forget the text for the low blow comment lines or there could be some surprises..
  18. Have to join this intervention. If you do it I have to come back to the game and join it. I got my worst record ever in your orgs. It's an abusive relationship where I keep taking losses for shit pay, but still it's awesome somehow so I just keep asking for another fight. Don't do it
  19. Hey guys, nice to see Machado on his way back to that belt, keep it up Bwang!
  20. Thanks, yes hope to see you around next time. Thanks, keep working the grappling skills in the meantime You better get back into it and make top 10 before I'm back or it will be spanking with a rolled up tycoon times. Lol, I know where that ends. "I'll just add a sparbot or two", "just a few fights for the sparbot to keep him from depopping too badly", and so on. This game sucks you in. Thanks, enjoyed our fights so far. Calling it a break so not in violation of the 11th commandment ? Sorry, been a bit busy and didn't get around to replying to the smacktalking, but hope to make it up to you next time- both the smacking and the talking. Thanks, yes Bjornsson is also what I personally see as my greatest achievement in this game so happy to get some recognition for that.
