Guest
One phrase sums up my opinion on this : "Hard as a rock!" Maybe we could expand it even farther.......escorts, drug dealers, ex-wives. I mean does it only have to be advantages? Real fighters have things that negatively impact them as well! PS - I'm just kidding for those that didn't get that But I do like the idea for this, and I'm sure we could come up with more then a few additions to this list. Tonk
+1 As far as cornermen go, would like to hear a more solid proposal. Seems cool, but needs to be balanced so that whoever has Jigoro Kane or whoever can't turn an otherwise stiff into a superstar just because a HOFer is in the corner. ArtieBanks
It could be good, maybe a extra incentive to buy the extra fighters, so with the extra fighters you get 5 spots for such things as corner men etc. or you could charge for the extra 5 slots. few things that could be good. 1.Coach/Seminar would be a good thing so you could rent him out or use him in your own gym and get a training boost for the day he is in the gym in his certain speciallity (say he was a bjj red belt, or a mt elite would make him a great MT coach) 2.Corner Men, extra cardio and help with cuts, gives you the extra confidence boost and intel aswell in the fight, giving you that extra boost that might be needed to win the fight. 3.Personal Assistant, being able to tell you what the fighter needs to go up a skill, or that he is going to go down a stat reminder. EzekelRAGE
I know, this is like a feeler thread, but would we be able to c the advice cornermen give in between rounds? j/w
Guest
3.Personal Assistant, being able to tell you what the fighter needs to go up a skill, or that he is going to go down a stat reminder. good idea also, another thing that i think would be worth it's weight in gold would be if assistants could scan the gym schedule and automatically set your fighter in the lowest available class size

Guest
Hell Yes on all accounts. So cornermen would be like a + bonus on intelligence? Maybe they could specialise? Like some for intelligence, some for cuts, some for morale, some for heart etc? Maybe you could pick 2 or 3 cornerman that would combine? Maybe the cornermen could have ratings? That increase/decrease along with their records/exp? Would the cost of things like this come out of fighter bank or manager bank?
Guest
I don't see myself using anything other than maybe the retired fighter option, but anything new in the game is great as far as I'm concerned.

Guest
Good point. What about the mindset of a new player who comes on and immediately notices all the top players have spent about $150 on their VIP and extra fighter slots? That might be a turn off, idk. I don't find that exactly true. They may want to find out why the top guys are spending so much.
Goatacre
Sounds like some great initial thoughts, that could be some fantastic additions to the game.

Nemesis84
I'd love to see some 'staff slots' avaliable to buy especially if we could keep fighters around to help out our current fighters with some sparring etc

Duxwig
I'm against any real + bonus for cornermen during the duration of a fight. I'd be more for the ability to change sliders/tactics via cornermen for the duration, rather than any added bonus(or fixing a negative hidden-cuts) to hiddens for a fighter. i would assume that cornermen WOULD be retired fighters and the advice that they give WOULD be based off of their experience and intelligence hiddens. that's kind of how it is in real life. when you're picking your cornermen, you're picking guys that you percieve to be intelligent about fighting and to have good knowledge of fight tactics. in this game i've had fighters before that i felt pretty strongly that they were intelligent. sure would be nice if they got to corner some of my fighters that i suspected to not be quite as shrude Bubba may not be a great fighter himself, but I think it would be unfair if his heart/confidence affected another fighter. I could just stick him with someone with granite chin and heavy hands and mow people down. If we did, I think the bonus should be rather minute. Guest
I'd like to see some more details on what exactly each of these will do, but overall I think it's a great idea and would be a welcome addition to the game. I'm curious if the coaches/trainers/cornermen would still have to train to maintain their skill levels... or if once you desginate them as that position and officially retire them, they would keep their skill base. Guest
+1 I already do this with my folks who cut easily but have good skills (I am looking at you Ryan) and would love to see all of this implemented.

If we did, I think the bonus should be rather minute. i never mentioned anything about a cornerman adding confidence or heart to another fighter? my post was about intelligence and experience and i think they are both realistic. if i was a real life fighter then i'd surely want a cornerman that is intelligent about fight tactics giving me advice. if i was a real life fighter then i'd surely want a cornerman that has experience fighting to give me advice because i know that he's been there before and can relate to what's happening but the idea that you suggested i dont think is a bad idea either. i wouldnt be opposed to a cornerman being nothing more than a plan B. meaning that if you have a corner man that you get to set a 2nd set of sliders and the corner man decides whether or not to tell your fighter to implement it or not or maybe a cornerman could do nothing more than just remind you to keep your hands up or to watch out for the head kick. it's all realistic
