The League of Leagues

For subs? It's multi-fold.

The first thing I've done is make sure it is worth it for subs to join in at any point.

For example, say you're in the tournament and go 0-4 in your first 5 fights and leave. Now, if a sub comes on, and wins all 3 of the remaining fights, the overall record is still 3-4 for that fighter which is probably not good enough to qualify. Why would a sub do this?

First up, as stated in the rules, each sub will get paid 30k from the prize pool. In addition, the subs have a chance to win a ton of prizes which don't require you to do well throughout the tournament but only in a fight or something like that. That's why I wanted so many different awards happening. The 30k thing also prevents managers from going on since well, they'll be pissing off 60 other managers since everyone loses out on some possible money with a manager dropping out.

Most importantly, the most likely time for dropouts is the first league stage. That is why I've put 4 slots for qualification up for grabs by 4 fighters getting selected by community votes and 4 by me (and them fighting each other to go through). I kept this solely because I want to be able to pick subs who did really well and were only not qualifying because the old manager was terrible.

Lastly, if I can't find a sub, I will make a 25 year old myself and put him in or allow others to make a second guy and put him in. At then end of the day, the tournament will go on and nobody should get a free bye.

Also, based on popular opinion, here are the GROUPS. I've hidden the actual match-ups till later so well, hold onto your horses for that.

If someone wants to make some epic odds and a betting thread, tell me. (I'm looking at you Scotty!)

Also, standings will be updated each week etc. So the guys who are showing up as qualifying right now don't really matter. Please don't come around asking me why someone is already qualifying! Still haven't decided group names obv! And the Tag is to show you where you will be placed in the next round.

Any chance of seeing the groupings in a different format?

It won't open in any sort of legible form for me here whilst at work on *cough* IE6 *cough* (one of the largest organisations in the world, and yet they won't even upgrade straightforward IT like this...).

I've got my work cut out for me, 65k+ manager against under 10k managers lol! It will be good for my opponent rating though. I dont care if the odds are stacked against me, IM PUMPED!!! It's going to be so much fun to follow this tournament and even more fun to take part in it.

Same. I look at it as a great chance to improve my game. If I never win a fight it will still be a great learning experience.
