SPFT 118: Skywalker vs. Kawashima

http://img594.imageshack.us/img594/7410/g483.png

Mahandry Andriamboavonjy (13-12-0) vs. "Grand Vizier" Jafar Agrabah (38-12-1)

Lightweight bout (155lbs)

First fight of the night, featuring two well-rounded fighters. Andriamboavonjy, a well known fighter to this organization, will be fighting former lightweight champion of the CFC and Syn', Agrabah, who's looking to find his way back on the winning track. With only 1 win in his last 7 fights, Agrabah will put it all out in this bout to prove he still has a few years left in his career. Will the young well-rounded Andriamboavonjy finish his opponent and his career? Or will Agrabah find a way to use his experience at an advantage and win this bout?

-- -- --

Lester "Beetlejuice" Green (15-11-1) vs. Kalash Nikov (15-9-2)

Featherweight bout (145lbs)

Another veteran of the SPFT organization, Nikov, will have his hands full against BJJ specialist, Green. While Nikov is a well-rounded fighter, he will have to keep this fight standing in order to avoid the grappling skills of Green. Green is coming off a submission of the night win in his last bout, and will be looking for the same result. Nikov will also be looking for his second straight win.

-- -- --

Piru Parka (26-16-0) vs. Sean Stone (16-9-0)

Super Heavyweight bout (over 265lbs)

David vs. Goliath right here ladies and gentlemen! Parka will be going into this fight 22cm taller and around 35lbs bigger than his opponent. Stone will have to use his speed advantage and take this fight quick to the ground in order to control this fight. Parka's exceptional boxing and sensational wrestling could cause big trouble for the smaller opponent. We could see a big KO or a beautiful submission in this fight!

-- -- --

"The Casablanca Clouter" Marcel Cerdan (23-12-2) vs. Marty Laguna (26-12-0)

Featherweight bout (145lbs)

Punches in bunches would be the way to describe the next fight. Two elite boxers will be facing each other. Both fighters are great finishers, so who's going to take the KO/TKO win? Cerdan is coming off a submission loss at his SPFT debut, but he will be looking to be the second ever to KO Laguna. Laguna will be looking for his second straight win after a dominant decision win in his last bout.

-- -- --

Bigfoot "Eeti" Silva (22-12-0) vs. Bobby "The Dominator" Leshley (27-18-2)

Super Heavyweight bout (over 265lbs)

Two big guys who are not scared to bang. This is what fans like to see. KO artist Silva will be looking for the 20th KO of his career agaisnt Leshley. Leshley's ground game could make the difference in this bout, if he gets to use his elite wrestling and find a way to ground and pound his opponent on the mat. Leshley's experience will be a factor in this fight, but Silva is the best shape of his life and is determined for this win.

-- -- --

Cristiano Nascimento (15-9-0) vs. Bang McGee (26-16-0)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

Another heavy-handed fight right here. Both fighters are coming off KO/TKO wins and will be looking to keep this going. Since it's Nascimento's first fight in this organization, he will be looking to make it memorable. He will leave everything inside the cage and aim for a KO win. With a 3 wins streak by KO/TKO with SPFT, McGee wants to prove he can be a contender by keeping this streak alive. Expect an early stoppage in this fight.

-- -- --

Nisse Lind (8-0-0) vs. "The Holy Man" Jensen Saint (28-15-0)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

This will be an exciting fight for sure! The tall Lind will be going into this fight 33cm taller than his opponent! Saint will be looking to ruin his opponent's perfect record, but he will need to find a way to work agaisnt the crazy reach of Lind, and put his BJJ black belt to a good cause. Lind will want to keep this fight standing and finish his opponent like he does best. No one has been able to stop his TKO victories yet, let's see if Saint's gameplan will have the answer for him.

-- -- --

"Gods Spear" Ansgar Axelsson (15-4-1) vs. "The Bucket" Dantavious McJuckett (16-7-0)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

Axelsson is still looking for his first SPFT win. Despite his 2 losses in a row, Axelsson's record shows that he has what it takes to become a contender in the division. He will be able to prove that against former light heavyweight champion McJuckett. McJuckett is coming off a TKO loss and is looking to get back on track towards another title shot. Axelsson will be a tough challenge for him, but expect an exceptional fight from both fighters.

-- -- --

Leonard Washington (21-9-0) vs. "The Bulldozer" Frank Martin (23-12-0)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

Talking about former champions, here is a fight between two former light heavyweight champions! The co-main event of the evening! A fight between two exciting fighters, who are both world class boxers. Washington is looking for his 3 straight win, which would make him a serious contender for the title. On the other hand, Martin's last fight ended in a quick submission win for him, which clearly showed that he wants another title shot. Look for a tight fight between these warriors who will be fighting their heart out to claim a top spot in the division.

-- -- --

Luke "The Jedi Knight" Skywalker (25-7-0) vs. "Thor" Eiji Kawashima (24-3-0)

Welterweight bout (170lbs)

This is the main event of the evening! A 5 round bout, between welterweight champion, Luke "The Jedi Knight" Skywalker and reigning welterweight champion of UPGV, "Thor" Eiji Kawashima! None of these fighters has ever been knocked out, so this could be a first for any of them. Skywalker's chin has been tested already, but he can't underestimate Kawashima's power. Kawashima's 20 (T)KO wins speak for itself. While Skywalker's ground game has a slight advantage on his opponent, Kawashima's conditioning should make all the difference. This is the fight of the night candidate right here! Both fighters will leave it all in the cage to show who's the best welterweight fighter in the world!

Hey guys,

I've been assigned by SP to help organize the first ICON World title superfight event, and, as such, I have initiated communications with org owners, to realize sometime next week dates and fighters to be included in the first ICON WorldWide Titleholder matchups. Some of the org owners will soon start receiving notes from myself asking them to start arranging time and allocation for their top talents in each division, such that the selected fighters and potential backups are available come event time.

The idea is to have an 'ICON' belt (as described in the OP) which will be defended once in every 2 or 3 months, and can only be held by the top of the top fighters in SteelPenn orgs worldwide.

Really excited to get this going? Think your champ should be included in the first event? Suggestions or concerns? Just let me know in this thread or via an in-game message and your input will certainly be taken into account.

Kind regards!

SPFT 118: Skywalker vs. Kawashima POST FIGHT

-- -- --

Mahandry Andriamboavonjy defeats "Grand Vizier" Jafar Agrabah (Unanimous Decision)

Lightweight bout (155lbs)

What a start to the event! Both fighters gave it all and fought their way to a decision. Tough fight to judge, but Andriamboavonjy got the edge in this one, winning round 2 and 3 on all score cards to earn him his second straight win. Agrabah's experience made the difference in this bout. He escaped 6 sub attempts from his opponent, but that was never enough, since he was dominated for 2 rounds. Andriamboavonjy was the most aggressive fighter in this fight.

-- -- --

Lester "Beetlejuice" Green defeats Kalash Nikov (KO)

Featherweight bout (145lbs)

Quick KO win here for Green. He executed his gameplan perfectly not wasting time and taking his opponent down to the mat at the beginning of the fight. After a sub attempt, he gained respect for Nikov's great defense, so he went for the ground and pound. He quickly went to mount and started raining down shots until Nikov was out cold. That was a sweet combination of BJJ and wrestling.

-- -- --

Sean Stone defeats Piru Parka (TKO)

Super Heavyweight bout (over 265lbs)

Speed and agility, that's what you need when you're the smaller fighter. Nice TKO win for Stone, who was looking great in that cage against Parka the giant. Despite a cut early in the fight, Stone managed to counter a few punches and landed a few leg kicks that slowed down Parka, but the gameplan was to bring this fight to the ground, which is what happened. After some great BJJ work from Stone on the ground, he managed to ground and pound his way to a TKO victory just 2 seconds before the bell for the end of the round. What a fight!

-- -- --

Marty Laguna defeats "The Casablanca Clouter" Marcel Cerdan (TKO)

Featherweight bout (145lbs)

No surprises here. This fight did not go on the ground like expected. What a war between those 2 fighters! Cerdan was looking to work from the clinch, and it worked really well for him. He managed to rock his opponent at the end of the first round but Laguna blocked a few shots after that and got back to his senses. Second round was about the same, with effective clinch work again by Cerdan but Laguna didn't deal with that long and as soon as he got the chance, he landed a shot that rocked Cerdan. Laguna kept his calm and waited for the perfect opportunity to finish his opponent by dodging shots and finally got a straight left that dropped Cerdan to the mat. KO of the night!

-- -- --

Bobby "The Dominator" Leshley defeats Bigfoot "Eeti" Silva (TKO)

Super Heavyweight bout (over 265lbs)

Sometimes, it only takes 31 seconds to beat a guy up. Both fighters were looking for the KO win. Silva started with a nice straight right hand that cut Leshley. Instead of jumping on this opportunity, he followed by a lazy uppercut that allowed Leshley to counter with a head kick that landed cleanly. Leshley thought the referee would stop the fight right there, but since he didn't, he had to follow with a crushing right hand that sent Silva to the floor. Crazy KO!

-- -- --

Cristiano Nascimento defeats Bang McGee (Submission Strikes)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

Nascimento stopped McGee's win streak with a dominant performance that got him his 3rd straight win. Both fighters came in this fight looking for a KO win. McGee started off with wild punches that wasn't landing and Nascimento was just the better fighter out there. Punches were landing and cut McGee early in the fight. McGee was rocked and was barely able to stand on his feet so he had to tap under the strikes. Excellent boxing from Nascimento!

-- -- --

"The Holy Man" Jensen Saint defeats Nisse Lind (TKO)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

Saint executed his gameplan perfectly and was able to stay away from Lind's crazy reach advantage. A few leg kicks and a takedown for Saint, then his grappling advantage won him the first round easily. He controlled his opponent in a dominant fashion. Lind managed to keep the fight standing for over a minute in the second round, but couldn't capitalize on that and got taken down again. Saint started striking from side control and was landing perfectly. He managed to rock Lind and the referee had no choice but to stop that fight and give a TKO win to Saint.

-- -- --

"Gods Spear" Ansgar Axelsson defeats "The Bucket" Dantavious McJuckett (KO)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

A nice defensive bout by those 2 experienced fighters. McJuckett's leg kicks were exceptional in this fight and he was the most dominant fighter. He was 1 minute away from a decision win when Axelsson showed he still had gas left in his tank and landed a perfect combination that rocked McJuckett. Axelsson then timed a perfect hook and knocked McJuckett out cold. Good job by Axelsson there, he had to finish the fight and he did it perfectly!

-- -- --

Leonard Washington defeats "The Bulldozer" Frank Martin (TKO)

Light Heavyweight bout (205lbs)

Bloody battle that was! Really close fight. I'm sure the judges are happy this fight didn't go to decision, because it would have been a hard one to score. First round showed both fighters ready for a fist war, with punches landing and both fighters were cut within the first minute. Martin failed with a couple of takedowns before he finally got one and controlled the rest of the round in Washington's guard. Second round showed the striking skills of both fighters. Washington got the best of it when he landed a nasty hook that dropped Martin. He quickly jumped to side control to pound out his opponent for a TKO victory. That's what the crowd was looking for! Washington got what he wanted and deserved. A title shot!

-- -- --

Eiji Kawashima defeats "Thor" Luke "The Jedi Knight" Skywalker (Unanimous Decision)

Welterweight bout (170lbs)

Fight a night like we all expected! What a fight between those two champions! We can all say that Skywalker is a tough guy. He managed to stay alive for 5 rounds and showed no sign of fatigue, despite that fact that he got nailed a few times by Kawashima. Most of his strikes were missing and Kawashima was taking advantage of everything. Kawashima got close to finish the fight in the third round, but there wasn't enough time left on the clock. It was enough to let Skywalker recover and he fought the last 2 rounds like a brand new man. Unbelievable heart by Skywalker, but Kawashima is a beast! He landed a total of 132 shots in this fight!

Congratulations to all fighters. That was a crazy night for all MMA fans!
