Hello again fight fans, I hope all of you are well and have prepared for this night of intense action! We have some of the best in the business doing battle tonight and they will certainly not disappoint! Steel Penn ICON is proud to bring to you ICON 1 where there will be TWO SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTS, ONE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT, TWO MIDDLEWEIGHT FIGHTS, ONE WELTERWEIGHT FIGHT, ONE LIGHTWEIGHT FIGHT, ONE FEATHERWEIGHT AND ONE BANTAMWEIGHT FIGHT!

There’s a good amount of representation in many different weight classes on display, that’s for sure! The Tokyo Bowl in Tokyo, Japan will be rocking all night long! And, to top it off, I realized that one week after SPFT 123 comes through, ICON 1 arrives right afterward! Japan will feel like a tsunami of action passed through!

The first Super Heavyweight battle places Ernesto Oliveira against “Sugar” Rai Leonardo who represents the Steel Penn Alliance. That’s very freakin’ sweet! Oliveira enters this fight with a 29-9 record, but more importantly, he’s on a FIVE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Leonardo brings an impressive 14-2-1 record and a MAJOR SEVEN FIGHT WIN STREAK! Talk about a lot on the line in this fight! Not only will the warrior who loses this battle have to begin a new win streak, but that’s a serious amount of momentum to be lost! Oliveira is the heavier man but “Sugar” is the taller. Which man will be able to stop the confidence and ability of his opponent!?

The other Super Heavyweight battle on this card pits “Brutal” Joe Biggs doing battle against Umberto “Golden Machete” Duran! Biggs is currently 8-2 with a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! “Golden Machete” is 22-16-1 and enters the fight with A RECENT DRAW! “Brutal” is younger and has a large height advantage in this fight, but Duran has a lot of fight experience and that will undoubtedly assist him in this contest! Hmm, I wonder if Biggs ever wanted to play basketball at that size!? He’s like Shaq out there! Duran definitely has his work cut out for him as he has to figure out how to cut the distance between him and Biggs shorter if he wants to minimize that great reach advantage!

The lone Light Heavyweight fight places the extremely popular and just as capable A J Hearts in the pit of battle against Daniel Vieira Moreira! A J Hearts proudly represents the Steel Penn Alliance and it shows with his very impressive 23-3 record entering this contest! A SIX FIGHT WIN STREAK also follows him and that puts a lot of pressure on the very sound Moreira! DVM, that’s what I’ll call him for short, is 18-8-1, definitely nothing short of a very good record, and won a recent UNANIMOUS DECISION! Hearts has been able to keep his opponent’s off balance with his very solid all-around fight game so DVM will definitely have to do his homework and, pardon the pun, but show a lot of heart in this battle!

The first Middleweight fight features “The Steamroller” Nero Aurelius locking horns against “Witcher” Alexei Surov! “Steamroller” is 18-7-1 entering this contest and has earned a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK! “Witcher” is 23-8 with a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! The Steel Penn Alliance member is at a height and weight disadvantage so he’ll have to adjust his game plan accordingly! Aurelius has shown that he is capable of winning various types of fights but so has Surov, so this will be a battle of technique and who is able to apply theirs before their opponent! Surov has a slight experience advantage, having a handful more of fights than Aurelius, so that experience may prove to be a key factor in this fight!

The final Middleweight fight brings us…am I reading this correctly!? Chicken Beef!? That’s his name!? Well all right…Chicken “And” Beef versus…are you serious!? We have Chicken Beef on one side and Barry Manilow on the other!? So is Manilow going to sing “Copacabana” while Chicken Beef serves us exactly that, chicken and beef!? Who made this fight!? Wow folks! Hey, maybe Neil Diamond will make a cameo appearance and sing “Sweet Caroline” to us also! Well hey, I just write what I see so I’ll halt my tangent and focus on the business at hand! Chicken “And” Beef stands 25-15 entering this fight while “Insane” Barry Manilow has a record of 13-5! Obviously “Food Man” has quite a bit more experience than “Insane”, but we’ll see what happens in this one!

The lone Welterweight fight has “Dragon” Ryuu Tatsuya – who sounds like a Street Fighter character, I swear he does – versus Nik Volkov! “Dragon” comes into this battle with a 15-13-1 record and an unfortunate TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK while Volkov brings a 20-13-1 record with him and is on an even more unfortunate THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Something has to give in this fight folks and I have no doubt these two men will be rather aggressive because let’s be honest, no one wants to be on a losing streak, let alone two men battling on losing streaks! Tatsuya is taller and heavier so there may be some advantage there, but Volkov has been through enough fights to know how to handle himself!

The one and only Lightweight fight of the night places Virgil Cid across the cage from “Activist” Zane Peltier! Cid has fought his way to a good 19-6 record and has been rolling with a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK! “Activist” is 20-5, a very good record, but even more impressive is his HUGE SEVEN FIGHT WIN STREAK! Peltier is in his zone and is feeling very good and very confident, no doubt! Cid is the taller and heavier man but he is in for one hell of a fight against Peltier! Can Cid dig deep within and find a way to halt the win streak that Peltier is on, or will Peltier continue his recent dominance over his opponents and make it a very impressive eight wins in a row!?

The Featherweight featured fight of the night gives us “The Man” Lager Assassin against Adam Gracie! At 32-11-1, Assassin has fought just about everyone in the MMA universe at least once! Wow that’s a lot of fighting! No doubt his experience will pay great benefits to him that Gracie may not be ready for! However, Gracie is 19-8-1 so he has enough battles under his belt to know how to hold his own, that’s for sure! “The Man” is on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK while Gracie is on a roll with FOUR WINS IN A ROW! I wonder if Gracie is related to THOSE Gracie’s, because if he has, man, they definitely have a lot of family members! Being great at MMA isn’t the only thing they’re good at…giggity!

And last but not least, we finish the night with the featured Bantamweight fight! Alberto “The Gunslinger” Lopez and his 23-9 record, along with his OUTSTANDING EIGHT FIGHT WIN STREAK, battles the 14-3 Bartek Pietrzak and his TREMENDOUS NINE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Talk about an exciting fight! Between these two warriors they have won SEVENTEEEN STRAIGHT FIGHTS! That’s an incredible amount of success ladies and gentlemen! This fight will definitely be about who has the most pride and determination as both of these men are on top of their game, sharp, and dangerous! “The Gunslinger” has a slight height advantage but Pietrzak brings that youthful exuberance as he is seven years younger! Needless to say, this fight will be fast and furious, with the NOS included!

Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen, the fast approaching ICON 1 event lineup! As I said before, Tokyo will be rocking for this one, definitely! Don’t miss this night of fights or you will definitely be sorry! As always, Steel Penn ICON is proud to bring to you the epitome of competition and excellence in quality nutrition, clothing products, and business representation!

Thank you, YellaDragon for all your help. Great work.

Steel Penn ICON Global Top 10 Champion Interviews written by Furious Styles

Greetings ladies and gentlemen, I hope all of you are well. It is my pleasure to once again share some of the on-goings of the Steel Penn ICON organization! Today, I have the honor and privilege to ask a few questions of the current Top 10 Global Champions! These ten warriors are the kings of their respective mountains, the best in the business, and despite their very busy schedules, they have humbled me by taking time to sit down with me and answer a few questions. Without further ado, here is what I learned from each champion:

Interview with A J Hearts

1) First off, congratulations on all of your success! You have now extended your reign atop the list of champions for five weeks straight, no minor feat by any means! When you began competing in this sport, what did you see yourself achieving, and has your success surpassed any goals and expectations you set for yourself?

Thank you. In our sport you must be very lucky to be on top for a long time. Everyone has a chance; one lucky punch and your win streak ends. I started at 20 years old and many people could say it's too late to get to the top. I didn't set any goals for myself to be honest. I only trained as best as I could and tried to win every fight.

2) Thus far you’ve only lost three fights out of twenty-six total. That’s a very, very impressive record! Do you attribute your success to more natural skill and training, or training and studying your opponents? Also, when you suffered those losses, what was your mindset going into the very next fight after each loss?

The science of game planning is very important to me. My coaches and I watch a lot of film on every opponent and work on our strategy. I can fight both standing and on the ground, and I think it's discouraging to my opponents. They know they can be both KOed on the feet and tortured on the ground.

My first loss to Pegasus was very useful for me. I was an inexperienced fighter and that loss taught me a lot. And I lost to Priest mostly because of my lack of motivation and becoming overconfident. I cleared the 205 and 265 pound divisions in Petersburg's SPFT and I needed new challenges. I'm glad I passed that test here in Hilo.

3) This is a fan question: When you return home to Nassau in the beautiful Bahamas, do you do any type of training, or is that time spent living it up and being a legend to the people of Nassau? Also, do you find that you have to stay out of trouble when you get home, as I’m sure there are many opportunities to partake in…exotic adventures?

Don't worry about me I can take care of myself. I have a lot of other interests besides MMA and will find something to do after retiring. You could also find me in casinos in Nassau, where I play poker. Don't tell anyone but my favorite hand is Ace Jack of Hearts.

Well A J, thank you again for taking the time to speak with me and answer my questions. I hear you loud and clear about casinos. I’m a Craps man myself. I don’t have the patience nor bluffing skills needed for Poker but maybe I’ll try to be more serious about it later.

Interview with Ernesto Oliveira

1) Congratulations on your achievement as a champion, that is definitely a tribute to your work ethic! So far in your career you have lost nine times. Which opponent do you feel has been your toughest, no matter the outcome of the fight?

The hardest fight; I don’t know! But there is a fight that left me quite sad. After dropping Don Marciano two different times, I lost the third fight. Marciano’s manager is a serious trash talker and I really wanted to win that match so I could shut him up!

2) Which do you feel is most important in terms of training and why: Training with an Elite level coach on whatever aspect of your abilities, or sparring with other fighters who are equally or higher-level skilled than you?

The sparring is very valuable. Your progress is a slow process and sparring should always be in your training routine.

3) Now we all know Brazil is famous for its beautiful women, world class soccer and of course, the world-renowned Carnival! When you take time out to go back to visit Curitiba, or when you have a match in Brazil, honestly, how difficult is it for you to focus on training when you have all of those great, lovely, and damn sexy distractions!?

It's sooo good. Brazilian asses and "cachaça" makes me crazy. But I focus on KOing the opponent first and then I can do what I want.

Well I have to agree with Oliveira about the amazing rear ends many of these Brazilian ladies have! Is it something in the water!? I need to figure this out! I respect a man who is able to focus on handling business before pleasure, because honestly, that’s a weakness of mine. Hey, no one’s perfect so don’t judge me!

Interview with “The Illuminated One” Ahiga Otaktay

1) With a current record of 36-9, you obviously have been in a lot of battles! What do you feel is the most difficult aspect of competing in mixed martial arts, especially since fighting in so many battles surely has to have taken its toll?

Battles are a part of life my friends, we have all been through battles...To me every moment is a battle, a battle of the higher over the lower aspects of my being...As far as fighting in Mixed Martial Arts, yeah I've been through a few wars in my time. To me I don't believe in difficult parts, it's all a matter of perception, difficulty is opportunity for soul growth... I surely won't be planning to fight in the cage forever, I see myself in a few years spending time with my family, and preparing to leave this planet once and for all...

2) Your nickname is “The Illuminated One”. Do you mean this in a sense of being a source of light, or in a sense of decoration? How did this nickname come about and who gave it to you?

I was given the nickname of the "Illuminated One" when I was with my shaman and we went on a deep peyote voyage. I saw myself as the source of all light, the source of all creation...In that moment I realized we are all pieces of this great sun! We are all one, in our perception we feel so small. But in truth we are all one, which makes us many; unlimited light, unlimited knowledge...Pure oneness with all of creation. We are all fractals of fractals, existing within a series of dreams...Waiting for the moment to awake, and to be set free....So in a sense we are all illuminated ones my brothers and sisters...

3) Now you say you’re from “The Trail Of Tears” in the United States. I’ve lived in the U.S. my entire life and have never heard of a city named “The Trail Of Tears”. So, please enlighten me with your illumination and explain to me what “Trail Of Tears” means for you? Also, are there other people you know from this particular location?

The trail of tears is my true birth place in thought, not in actuality. The trail of tears is the idea that you can be driven to suffering when you are controlled, whether it be by the senses, or by the media, or a government...Or your ego. We will all eventually be freed from this perpetual trail, of tears. One day you must stop walking, and instead, fly...We are free in the true reality.

Well folks, I can assure you that after this interview, I definitely had to take time to contemplate Ahiga’s words because there are some aspects of life I hadn’t seen in that particular light, pardon the pun. I wonder how many books on philosophy he has read…

Interview with “Nutshot I Quit” Cro Copout

1) You have fought sixty-one matches and are still going strong! How do you do it and how much longer do you feel you’ll compete in MMA before you decide to focus upon a different aspect of the sport and business?

My comments, as with everything in my career, are handled by management due to my mental handicap. I will fight till my management decides otherwise.

2) In your opinion, which opponent amongst the many that you’ve fought gave you the greatest feeling of achievement when you defeated them and why?

I don’t remember a lot after that many shots to the head. I don’t know how Jenna Jameson does it!

3) I have to ask about your unusual nickname, “Nutshot I Quit” because, let’s be honest, that’s just not something you hear every day! Why do you have that nickname and do you get into a lot of fights outside of the cage because of it? Also, I’m not the sharpest tool in the shed, but when I looked for p, Croatia, I wasn’t able to find it. Where in Croatia is the city “p”?

My management picks on my small penis a lot. That’s just another prod for me. Now you know why you can’t find "P"? I hate my nickname, but I’m a heel and people love to hate me and will pay to see me lose.

Well folks, this was obviously one of my shorter interviews, but I can’t help but feel for Cro. I was able to speak with his management team later in the day and basically, to answer my first question, they informed me that in a nutshell, Mr. Copout struggles to focus on much else in life, thus he will literally fight until he can’t anymore. I admit he caught me off guard with the very clever and amusing comment about Jenna Jameson. From what I’ve seen, she does it just about every way, but that’s not what we’re here to discuss so I’ll move on. The fact that Cro’s management ridicules him about his horizontally challenged privates demonstrates their willingness to do whatever they feel is necessary for him to achieve success. The man does have feelings but apparently that’s not too important! As for his nickname, well, people do like to see certain people lose. That’s just reality.

Interview with Shane “Bricklayer” Waitzel

1) Congratulations on becoming a Top 10 Global Champion recently! At one point in time you won twelve fights in a row, ending in either a KO or TKO with the exception of one fight! That’s an incredible streak! During that streak, what was your mindset going into each fight, did you ever expect to win twelve in a row, and do you have special training to harden your fists?

When I go into fights, I go for the finish. I would rather get knocked out than have a boring decision win. Yes I know my hands are heavy and it's a good thing to rely on. I used to spar with top Heavyweight fighter Kyle Carlton at my gym and we used to have very tough battles. We pushed each other to the max.

2) Your current record is 23-5, a very impressive record indeed! When you lost those five fights at various points in time in your career, how do you think this affected you? Do you feel you improved yourself and your abilities after each loss, and which loss was the hardest for you to accept?

I'm constantly improving but my game is the stand up. I had a few losses but there’s no loss that feels tougher than the other. At the same time I would destroy all of the guys I lost to in the past today.

3) I understand you work as a Bricklayer, hence the nickname, when you’re back home in Lynbrook, New York, and aren’t training. As a New Yorker, are you a Knicks or Nets fan and why? Are you a Mets or Yankees fan? Are you an Islanders or Rangers fan? Lastly, Giants or Jets? I know many New Yorkers and many of them are very passionate about their choice of team, but sometimes they don’t really have a good explanation. Perhaps too many Coney Island hot dogs at the games? I don’t know.

I'm a hockey fan and I use to see most of the Islanders games here on Long Island. We have the famous Mugler's Gym out here on Long Island and most of the fighters in the gym both live here and are Islanders fans. At my job we have many Islander patriots and the company I work for has season tickets we use.

Hailing from Detroit, believe me folks, I know about hockey so it’s great that an Islander’s fan represents the team as well as Waitzel does.

Interview with “Witcher” Alexei Surov

1) With a record of 23-8, you have proven to be quite successful in MMA. However, I understand your background is in Sambo, which means “self defense without weapons”, a Russian system of self defense. Do you feel your training in Sambo in the early stages in life gave you an advantage over other combatants in mixed martial arts when you began your career?

Sambo is a great base for sure, but I learned a lot of different techniques, such as BJJ, Freestyle wrestling, etc.

2) Being from Moscow, a beautiful city that obviously features the Red Square and the Kremlin, amongst many other architectural achievements, were you able to meet various mixed martial artists from around the world who helped you in your training and guiding you along when you first entered this sport and business?

I have been fortunate to meet many different fighters from all over the world in Moscow. They enjoyed the different culture of Russia plus respected the various athletic accomplishments. Some very good fighters and martial arts teachers took time to show me various techniques because they saw I was serious about learning the various arts.

3) The nickname “Witcher”, where does it come from and what does it mean? The only Witcher I know is the hack-and-slash video game, which is actually pretty fun to play once you get used to the controls and gameplay, but that’s a different story.

Yes, a Witcher is a male witch. It comes from famous fantasy books written by the Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski. My friends gave me this nickname because they see my ability to break people’s arms as magic.

Well please don’t demonstrate any of that magic on me! I’m just asking questions here!

*Postponed Interview with Alexandr Romanov*

As all of you can see, I had my questions ready for Mr. Romanov, but I was informed by his management team that, due to particular circumstances involved with his training, Mr. Romanov will not be answering my inquiries. I’m hoping to have Mr. Romanov answer these questions at a later time but until then, I have nothing further to add to what you see. Sorry about that folks but it happens. In the world of sports, anything is possible.

1) Let me get right down to it, not only are you a tremendous twenty-one and two, but you also have a current win streak of sixteen fights in a row, including one no contest, probably because you previously pummeled the guy! That’s almost unheard of in any sport! Tell me, how have you achieved such an incredible record and win streak!?

2) Of the two losses you have endured, which one was the most difficult to accept and how did you make yourself get back on the winning track?

3) The Ukraine offers many lovely tourist areas such as Saint Sophia’s Cathedral, the Kiev Zoo, and the Olimpiyskiy National Sports Complex to name a few. When you return home to take a break from training and such, where is your favorite place to visit and why? Please keep it rated PG as there are young adults who read this material and I don’t want to be responsible for you divulging information that only adults should know.

Interview with Aaron Davidson

1) Congratulations to being a new entrant into the Global Top 10, that’s a great achievement! You have obviously been through many battles but there was a point in time when you lost four fights in a row! Many fighters would have been very discouraged and many would have quit at that point in time. What is it that kept you going despite that four loss streak?

I had some issues with some guys with mob connections. I was told to take a dive in those MFC fights. They had my Mom, man. Now they don't. And let’s just say Mom doesn't have to worry about them. The other losses are legit. It's the nature of the game, man.

2) Now that you have achieved this particular level of success and are recognized as a Top 10 champion, what are your next goals and how will you prepare to achieve those goals?

My next goal is obviously to beat Luke Skywalker like an Ewok in a sock drawer. He has my belt. Being on some list is great and all, but I like belts...shiny ones.

3) Now everyone who likes U.S. football knows that Philly fans are extremely passionate and tough upon the Eagles, and basketball fans are equally passionate and tough on the 76ers! What do you see each team achieving this year? Also, name your favorite eatery that serves what you consider to be the best Philly Cheese Steak? Man those things are great!

The Eagles and Flyers will get back into the playoffs this year and the 6ers will be a disappointment...like always. Cheese Steaks? What happened to the hard hitting questions? Don't you have something on how inspiring the Liberty Bell is? I hope you are the first guy to challenge me for the belt I'm about to win!

Sheesh, tough crowd with this guy! I appreciate the attitude and confidence, I really do, but to want to challenge me to a fight, a reporter!? Come on now, that’s a bit much! I guess when you have the mindset that Davidson does, that flies in his mind and hey, so be it. I’m just glad he straightened out that mob situation. That’s the last thing any of us around here needs!

Interview with Asshole “Beast Mode” Gracie

1) I’ll refer to you as Mr. Gracie because your chosen first name is, well, a bit risqué for an interview in my opinion. So Mr. Gracie, you have a total of sixty-one fights under your belt and you keep on going! How much longer do you see yourself competing in the MMA, and who would you like to fight one more time before you decide to depart this sport and business?

Only an asshole would refuse to call me by my name. Maybe we are more alike than you would like to think Mr. Styles. Then you call me old with the second comment out of your mouth? You’re not winning me over here man. Whatever, I can admit that yes I have limited time in the parking meter but its guys like you that make my desire just, well, furious. And I don’t see a bunch of bible thumpers in this sport so you will be hearing my name about as loud and long as your girlfriend was screaming it last night.

2) You have won nine fights in a row and have lost four fights in a row at various points of time in your career. When many fighters would have been disheartened and quit after losing four in a row, you didn’t. What kept you going despite that losing streak, and what mind set did you have for that nine fight win streak?

Are you really stroking my cock right now? What the *beep* kind of ass kissing question was that!? When I’m on a losing streak I just look at a guy like Chael Sonnen and remind myself that I’m not that low yet. When I’m winning, I just keep telling myself that I’m just another asshole.

3) “Beast Mode” is a term from The Transformers that has been popularized in numerous parts of the world. Aside from unleashing your “Beast Mode” in the cage against other fighters, are there other times when you unleash the “Beast Mode”? Remember, this is a family show and young adults do watch, so please keep your comments rated PG thirteen because I don’t need the FCC coming down on me for your potential response!

You just warned me of a sexual comment you think would be made to a question you weren’t even finished asking. That says a lot about where your mind is at. It’s BEAST MODE for crying out loud. If you can turn that into a sexual innuendo you’re more of a pervert than an online gamer should be. Do you have a therapist? And don’t get a sex therapist, they will just enable you. Don’t ask how I know. This interview is getting me sexually aroused. I gotta’ go!

Needless to say ladies and gentlemen, this was definitely an odd interview. Apparently my definition of an a-hole requires re-thinking and restructuring because I am way off. Apparently I too, am an a-hole for asking certain questions. I always thought “Mr. Anderson” in the WWE and Impact Wrestling was an a-hole, because that’s exactly what he calls himself also. Additionally I’m pretty sure my girlfriend was screaming my name but maybe that’s just in my own head. As for me stroking anything on Mr. Gracie, I assure you that will not happen anytime soon! Lastly, as a reporter there have been numerous questions answered with sexual innuendoes so I always prepare for that. However, I do admit that yes, I’m a sexual individual, but then again, aren’t we all? I don’t have a therapist but after Mr. Gracie said the interview was arousing him, I very well may require one!

Interview with “Sugar” Rai Leonardo

1) Fourteen, two and one is a very impressive record and deserving of a champion as I see it! Currently you’re riding a seven fight win streak and are looking very confident. Do you feel your training is mainly responsible for this, or has sparring with members of the Elite Brazil Team been more of a factor in your recent success?

Thanks. I feel I'm in the best time of my life: good friends, family, team mates, training partners, and especially in the right weight class. When everything is in its right place, you feel like working hard and the results show up.

2) For your next ten fights, what do you envision seeing yourself doing and is there anyone in particular you want to fight in the near future? Perhaps one of the opponents who defeated you previously, if you haven’t fought them already?

I don't pick out opponents you know. I just have this feeling I'm just getting started, you know, and that I am in an excellent position to be in.

3) With a nickname like “Sugar” and being well known in Brazil, come on, be honest, how tempting is it to engage in extracurricular activities at Carnival and other festive events where there are scantily clad, gorgeous women? Remember, young adults do read these articles so keep it clean, well, as clean as possible.

I don't speak English very well... I understand you talking about doing it for money, right? I'm open to any type of opportunities, including that kind of stuff. I'd be definitely pleasantly surprised at the whole thing. It'd mean a lot to me but at the same time you can't make sex bigger than it is. You just have to go out there and perform well.

I can definitely agree with Rai that performing well is the name of the game when it comes to battles of a different nature. Each and every time I go to Brazil, I definitely try to pick my opponents and unleash my own sort of training, but that’s neither here nor there.

I want to once again thank all of the champions who took time out of their busy schedules to sit down with me and answer a few questions. In a few cases I honestly thought I was going to have to defend myself, but in general, these warriors were able to turn down their intensity and answered my questions, so I appreciate that. Remember folks, tune in this Saturday, August 24, to the ICON 1 event!

ICON 1 Fighter Interviews written by Furious Styles

Hello again good folks, I hope all of you are well. It is my honor to be behind the scenes at ICON 1 in Tokyo, Japan! As all of you know there will be a multitude of titles on the line and that adds to an already intense night of action! I have been granted permission by various management teams to quickly interview their fighters prior to the ICON 1 event. Understandably the management teams want their fighters to remain focused on the task at hand so I was only able to ask a few quick questions.

Due to the fact I had already interviewed some of the men battling at ICON 1 who are ranked in the Steel Penn ICON Top 10 Global Champions list, I conducted interviews of the men who are not on that list but are fighting at the ICON 1 event. So, without further ado, here are the gentlemen I was able to speak with while they took very brief breaks from their rigorous training regimens. Oh and one last note. For the fighters who I was not able to ask interview questions of, their management teams decided it best for me to not disturb their fighter so they could focus solely on the task at hand. I respected their wishes as a professional and have omitted the questions I was ready to ask:

Interview with John Bourne

1) What is your mindset going into this fight against Arthur Vengrio?

I am very focused like I normally am before going into any of my fights. I'm also very excited to battle against another champion.

2) What concerns, if any, do you have about "Nosferatu" Arthur Vengrio's fighting experience advantage?

It truly doesn't concern me that he has had nine more fights than me, because he also has had six more losses than me as well. We are both veterans and hard hitters so it really is all about who executes their game plan. I'll be ready.

Interview with Arthur Vengrio

1) What do you see happening in this fight against "Johnny" John Bourne?

I can see rivers of blood.

2) Do you have any concerns about Bourne's height advantage in this fight?

His height advantage will give him some more survival minutes; nothing more. I know that Bourne is six years younger and ten centimeters taller but hey, I’ve knocked out cold some opponents of much greater caliber then this kid. That’s it. This newbie goes down. Over!

I concur with Bourne that both fighters have been in enough battles to know what to expect, but it seems to me the fighters who have been in more matches, in general, have developed that wily veteran understanding of how to sway the fight in their favor. This will definitely be an interesting fight to see because, as is very obvious, Vengrio is very confident and considers Bourne to be a newbie. Will that end up costing the veteran? That is one key aspect to watch for in this fight!

*Interview with Daniel Vieira Moreira*

I already had the privilege of interviewing A J Hearts, Daniel Moreira’s opponent for ICON 1, so I wanted to focus solely on Moreira for an interview. However, due to his management team’s decision, I was not granted the opportunity to speak with him.

Interview with Nero Aurelius

1) How has your training camp prepared you for this battle against "Witcher" Alexei Surov?

GREAT! I always feel great training at GRITTY'S ELITE KILLAS. He has a number of animals training there that helped me prepare for this fight. Iron sharpens iron. I definitely focused on my mat skills during this training camp. Obviously, Mr. Surov is an excellent grappler. I wanted my focus there and GRITTY agreed.

2) You're the taller and heavier fighter in this contest. Do you feel that will greatly assist you during this fight?

I feel like the better athlete in this fight. I feel stronger and more powerful, but at the same time that advantage can be negated on the mat with a superior grappler. My height and weight advantage works in my favor if the fight stays on the feet but anything could happen if the fight hits the mat. I plan on putting on a great fight either way and I'm sure Alexei feels the same way.

As was the case with A J Hearts, I had previously interviewed Alexei Surov and he gave me great material. For this interview I wanted to focus on his opponent only, hence the lone interview with Nero Aurelius. Aurelius strikes me as a fighter who is authentically excited about stepping into the ring and he definitely knows how to drive home the point that he trains with Gritty’s Elite Killas. Although they sound like a faction from Wu-Tang, I don’t doubt their ability and I’m sure Alexei Surov will be thoroughly prepared for a tough fight against the young and strong Aurelius!

Interview with Virgil Cid

1) What strengths do you see in "Activist" Zane Peltier you feel you have to make adjustments for?

Well it's no secret that Peltier has an impressive ground game, although I'm not worried. It's just like any other fight to prepare for. I have knocked out boxers, and I have knocked out wrestlers.

2) You have the height and weight advantage in this contest. Are you going to rely more upon your physical attributes more in this fight than you normally would?

I never rely on my physical attributes to win fights. I believe the true winner will shine regardless of size. Taller and heavier can be a perk, and a crutch, but not the determining factor of the fight. Thank you for your time, I’m looking forward to the fight! Don’t miss it!

*Interview with Zane Peltier*

Mr. Peltier’s management team asked that I not conduct an interview with him because they wanted him laser-beam focused on his fight against Virgil Cid. I appreciate Mr. Cid taking the time to speak with me, however. Obviously Cid is a confident fighter and is also very polite, which I greatly appreciate. History has shown that he has been able to knock out various fighters of various capabilities so that is definitely a possibility in this fight! Judging from what I saw of Peltier, he will definitely be prepared for a war!

Interview with Lager Assassin

1) You have more combat experience than your opponent, Adam Gracie. How much of an advantage do you feel this will give you going into this fight?

Well, although I have far more in-ring experience than Gracie, I am not taking him lightly at all. If I’m able to keep this fight standing then I feel I have the distinct advantage. However, if this fight goes to the ground then the advantage swings quickly in his favor. Therefore, I need to not allow this fight to go the ground, haha.

2) What concerns, if any, do you have about Gracie being eight years younger than you?

I’m not concerned about age in this fight. If I were concerned about age, or my management team was, then I would probably find myself on the Free Agent roster, looking for new representation, I guess.

*Interview with Adam Gracie*

Adam Gracie’s management team politely ask I not interview him, so I am appreciative that Lager Assassin took time out to chat with me briefly. As you can tell by his comments, Assassin is enjoying the time he’s taking to prepare for this fight and is very light-hearted and humorous in his approach. I was surprised to be honest at his comedic timing but the interview was pleasurable and I wish him the best in his efforts to keep the fight a stand-up affair!

Interview with Alberto Lopez

1) Your opponent, Bartek Pietrzak, has only lost three fights so far in his career and is seven years younger. Do any of these facts trouble you and if so, how do you plan to overcome them?

No, that's not troubling for me. A cursory glance over the last eight fights he's had shows that he's never fought someone like me.

2) Do you feel your experience advantage will be enough to overcome the youthful energy Pietrzak will bring into this fight, and how do you see this fight proceeding?

I feel like I can do whatever I want in this fight. Generally I like to beat people up while the fight is standing, but I'm not scared of his guard either. It's one thing to be subbing out blue belts, but I've been a black belt since before this young fella’ started fighting.

*Interview with Bartek Pietrzak*

Again, I had a management team, this time Mr. Pietrzak’s, ask me to forego an interview so I appreciate Mr. Lopez taking a few minutes to sit with me. Lopez strikes me as an individual who knows exactly what he is capable of in the ring and is obviously not short on confidence. He raises a very valid point about him being very well versed in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and I’m certain that will come very much in handy should this fight to the ground! Pietrzak has a chance to prove he can overcome a very capable veteran, but I venture to guess it will be a most difficult task.

Interview with Joe Biggs

1) In a sense, your MMA career is just beginning. Do you feel you have enough experience to battle against Umberto Duran without giving up too many disadvantages through lack of fight experience?

Thank you very much for the opportunity to speak. My MMA career has indeed just begun, but my will to win is far greater than any statistic. Umberto is, however, a great opponent for me to test how far I've come since my past losses. I truly feel comfortable wherever this fight goes, and his experience will only help him, as he could use all the help he can get against the great up-and-comer that I am.

2) You are much physically larger and heavier than Umberto. Do you plan on using these traits to try and end the fight early, and do you think you have the physical capability of maintaining pressure in a long fight if it ends up that way?

I've grown use to people talking about size as an advantage, but it works against you, probably just as much as it helps. So, personally I just enter the cage with an original game plan, and let myself work with what I got to work with. As far as how to finish this one, it could go any number of ways and I'm ready for them all. Duran will likely avoid my ground game, so we'll be standing toe to toe for a good portion of the fight. Who knows how long this slugfest will last, but I do know I'll be looking to end it as soon as it starts! Fans be ready for this one!

Interview with Umberto Duran

1) You have an obvious experience advantage over Joe Biggs. Do you think this will be enough to overcome the physical height and weight advantage Biggs has over you?

I’m not worried about a big fat dude! It’s not the first time and won’t be the last but will only end in one way and that's the fat man sleeping!!!

2) Have you altered any method of your training to deal with Biggs' size or have you fought men of his physical stature before and have an idea of what to expect?

I haven’t altered anything because I don’t feel I need to! As my previous answer indicates, you know exactly what I expect to happen in this fight!

The first thing that stands out in my mind is how polite Mr. Joe Biggs was to me during the interview. I always appreciate good manners and it made interviewing him that much more easy. While expressing respect to Duran, Biggs also displayed an understanding of what he has endured and feels he has taken the correct steps to overcome recent struggles. Obviously Duran sees Biggs as a large mass who is standing in the way, going so far as to call him “a big fat dude”! Is he playing mind games before the fight? That’s a distinct possibility!

*Interview with Chicken Beef*

*Interview with Barry Manilow*

The management teams for both fighters were very guarded when I asked them if I could interview their fighters. Honestly I was a bit disappointed by that because I felt I had a couple of humorous questions to ask each man, but perhaps my levity was not graciously accepted. Either way, the only talking involved between these two men will occur in the cage, which is just fine by me!

Interview with Ryuu Tatsuya

1) You and your opponent, Nik Volkov, have similar fighting experience and are close in age. What do you see as a distinct advantage you have over Volkov in this fight?

The ability to finish. Volkov may be good on his feet and on the ground, but my ability to go for the kill is greater; that and the fact that he has never heard of the word "clinch".

2) You are the much heavier fighter in this match. Do you have any conditioning concerns because of that, or do you feel the additional strength may end up being what you need to sway the results in your favor?

My conditioning is fine, and the weight advantage will definitely be in favor for me. That being said, I am not looking past Volkov because he's a dangerous opponent for any fighter of any weight.

Interview with Nik Volkov

1) What is your mindset going into this fight against Ryuu Tatsuya, who weighs much more than you?

I'm just trying to get back into the win column. Weight differential means nothing to me, because I've been training with fighters who are much heavier than I and they don't have much success in controlling me.

2) What is your strategy in taking advantage of the speed you possess in this fight, since the combat experience between the two of you is nearly identical?

I feel that I am the stronger fighter in this fight, despite the weight difference, so I will be able to dictate exactly where this fight ends up. I also know my cardio level is one of my best attributes, and would love to test Mr. Tatsuya by bringing him into deep waters.

The final set of questions presented to opponents was very pleasant yet business-like in nature. It’s obvious to me that both Ryuu Tatsuya and Nik Volkov have a great amount of respect for one another and appreciate the fact they match up quite evenly. Volkov feels he’ll be able to negate Tatsuya’s rather large weight advantage with speed and keeping the heavier man off balance. However, I didn’t expect Volkov to feel he’s the physically stronger man due to the weight difference so his strategy will be very interesting to see in this fight! It’s obvious that Volkov wants to see just how much gas Tatsuya has in the tank. I wonder if Tatsuya will opt to be a counter-attack fighter for a portion of the battle to try and throw Volkov off his game. We shall see soon enough!

Well there you have it folks and I want to thank each competitor that took the time to speak with me. I know they have a lot on their minds and are honing in on the final touches they want to utilize in their respective fights. One key aspect all the fighters I spoke with possess: confidence! Time and time again you hear people speak about the importance of confidence and that’s very evident by the number of champions and challengers for ICON 1!

As always I thank you for your time and remember, Steel Penn ICON represents the pursuit of excellence, the desire to overcome limitations, and the unadulterated production of top quality nutritional products that will help any serious athlete achieve their potential, be it in an excellent Steel Penn gym facility or somewhere else! ICON 1: Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Greetings fight fans, it is your man Furious Styles back in action for a Post Pay-Per-View Summary of an EPIC EVENT! ICON 1 rocked Tokyo to its foundation! Forty-two thousand screaming, maniacal, rabid fans just could not get enough of the intense, brutal, exquisite action in the cage! What a night it was indeed as we saw multiple titles on the line and, in my opinion, some surprise endings to fights as well! There was ONE KO, THREE TKO’S, ONE SPLIT DECISION, and FOUR UNANIMOUS DECISIONS! Without further ado, let me get into it!

The first fight of the night opened the ICON 1 event with a bang, literally, as it was also the KO of the Night for Bourne! The Heavyweight battle between “Johnny” John Bourne of the Tycoon World Order and “Nosferatu” Arthur Vengrio, the apparently purple-complexioned enigma, quasi-vampire-like enigma – who is affiliated with himself and his management team because they’re probably the only ones who understand him – had a hard-fought battle in which Bourne was able to cut Vengrio early in the first round of the fight with a nice elbow which may very well have contributed to Bourne ultimately earning the victory! Later in the opening round, Bourne rocked Vengrio with a vicious right head kick but much to Vengrio’s credit, he was able to recover pretty quickly! However, the ultimate ending to the fight came from a brutal right hand from Bourne that dropped Vengrio in his tracks! Bourne improves his record to 24-6-1 and now has a TEN FIGHT WIN STREAK! Vengrio falls to 27-13 and has his THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED!

The next fight was the first Super Heavyweight fight of the night and wow, was it savage! Ernesto Oliveira, representing The Goonies, was on top of his game folks and he unleashed upon Steel Penn Alliance representative “Sugar” Rai Leonardo sheer brutality that was just too much for Leonardo to handle! Leonardo cut Oliveira quite early in the first round and this may have fueled Oliveira’s fire because after he saw his own blood, he shifted gears into overdrive! Leonardo definitely had Oliveira in trouble and the referee almost stopped it, but Oliveira hung in tough and regrouped! “Sugar” pressed the action as much as he could and Oliveira used that to his advantage, waiting for the perfect moment to sidestep Leonardo and drop him with a well-timed, perfectly-placed head kick that dropped Leonardo! For Leonardo, that definitely was not sweet, but I bet to recoup from his loss, he will go back to Brazil and have his own form of sugar…giggity! Oliveira improves to 30-9 and he now has a SIX FIGHT WIN STREAK! Leonardo falls to 14-3-1 and has his SEVEN FIGHT WIN STREAK HALTED!

Fight number three pitted one of the most popular fighters in MMA Tycoon, A J Hearts of the Steel Penn Alliance against Daniel Vieira Moreira in a great Light Heavyweight contest! The first round was a great display of each man’s capabilities and Moreira gave Hearts a bit of trouble here and there. Hearts maintained his cool as always and in the second round, he cut Moreira while having a ground-and-pound advantage! Hearts went on to control the fight using his tremendous wrestling skills and know-how because Moreira was able to not only protect himself from being badly damaged, but he also did not allow Hearts to take full advantage of some positions he had worked so hard to establish! Moreira gave it one hell of a shot but Hearts was just too much on that night! Hearts maintained the pressure and the judges had an easy time awarding him the Unanimous Decision victory! A J Hearts’ record is 24-3 and now has a SEVEN FIGHT WIN STREAK! Moreira falls to 18-9-1 and begins a ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

The fourth fight featured two accomplished Middleweight fighters in “The Steamroller” Nero Aurelius of The Legion of Doom – one of the baddest ass wrestling tag teams ever, I might add – versus “Witcher” Alexei Surov, who represents the Steel Penn Alliance! In the first round, “Steamroller” was able to cut Surov and this set the tone for the rest of the fight! The cut got worse in the second round after Aurelius landed a clean jab! Much to Surov’s credit, he stuck with his wits and looked for various submission attempts throughout the match. Aurelius was well prepared, however, and did not allow Surov to gain any advantage on the ground, steam rolling his way to earn a Unanimous Decision victory over the video-game titled nickname, “Witcher, although he does not have that nickname because of that game! Aurelius improves his record to 19-7-1 with a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK, while Surov falls to 23-9 and begins a ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

Halfway through the night we were treated to Virgil Cid of Children of the Law of One, versus “Activist” Zane Peltier of the Evil Empire in a Lightweight battle! Evil Empire? Now is it just me or did everyone who just read that start to hear Star Wars music play in their heads and pictured Darth Vader boarding the Millennium Falcon? This fight was mostly a stand-up battle and Cid was getting the better of it, so Peltier, being the intelligent fighter that he is, took matters into his own hands and took the fight to the ground! He had a lot more success there but Cid was very well prepared to defend against Peltier’s submissions and general wrestling talent, and did not allow Peltier to take full advantage of his opportunities and went on to earn the Unanimous Decision! Virgil Cid improves to 20-6 and now has a FIVE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Peltier drops to 20-6 and has his SEVEN FIGHT WIN STREAK STOPPED!

The next fight was a Featherweight affair that placed “The Man” Lager Assassin – who is associated with no one but his manager and folks, not to be disrespectful at all, but if anyone can properly pronounce Lager Assassin’s manager’s name correctly the first time they see it, I will personally pay you $100! Talk about a name that belongs on a Litmus test or some other high intelligence test! Holy cow! – versus Adam Gracie of The Legion of Pain! Assassin was all business in this one folks and he came out very aggressively! Both of these fighters were actively looking to make their opponent submit and we saw beautiful BJJ and wrestling on display as neither man gave an inch without a serious fight! Assassin worked fervently to gain the position advantage and once he did, he unleashed elbows and fists that eventually lead to Gracie covering up and forcing the referee to stop the action! Assassin’s record is now 33-11-1 with a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Adam Gracie is now 19-9-1 with a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED!

The Bantamweight battle turned out to be the Fight of the Night, so you know it was a great one ladies and gents! Alberto “The Gunslinger” Lopez of the Tycoon World Order versus Bartek Pietrzak will be talked about for a while, I guarantee it! Ask ten fans who watched the fight who won and you’ll receive ten different answers. That is how close this one was! Back and forth action, both standing and on the ground! Demonstrations of very sound striking techniques, power, finesse, craftiness, and toughness! Takedowns, submission attempts, clinches…the only thing this fight didn’t have was a scantily-clad young beauty trying to cook something in the middle of the fighting! I felt sorry for the judges in this one because an argument could have been made on either side of this one! Although Pietrzak lost the split decision, he has nothing to hang his head about! Both men were worn out and showed a great deal of respect once all was said and done! Lopez improves to 24-9 and keeps his momentum rolling with a NINE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Pietrzak now stands at 14-4, nothing to be ashamed of because that’s still a very good record, and has a NINE FIGHT WIN STREAK CEASED!

The last Super Heavyweight battle placed “Brutal” Joe Biggs of Children of the Law of One, and Umberto “Golden Machete” Duran of the Legion of Doom in the cage against each other! Biggs cut Duran very early in the first round with a sharp left hand and that was a sign of things to come! Biggs aggressively took Duran to the ground and looked for submission finishes but Duran kept calm and utilized sound technique to keep himself out of trouble! Duran began to change the momentum of the fight momentarily but a huge uppercut dropped Duran and it was all she wrote! Biggs took advantage of the situation and finished the fight as he has been trained to do! Both men demonstrated a lot of solid fight plan execution but Biggs’ aggressiveness was the key factor in this fight as I saw it! “Brutal” was indeed that and “Golden Machete” could not quite cut it in this fight. What? Tell me you did not at least think about that pun!? Biggs’ adds to his record and is now an impressive 9-2 and a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK while Duran’s record now stands at 22-17-1 with a ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

The Middleweight fight with the two fighters who had the most interesting names of the night – maybe that should be an award given out at certain events because it definitely would have applied in this one – featured Chicken “And” Beef of The Hit Squad versus “Insane” Barry Manilow of Hellraiser Incorporated! Manilow came out in the first round like a man possessed! I wonder if some of the MMA fans insulted him and maybe even mocked his attempt at singing? Who knows, but he definitely lived up to his “Insane” billing and leapt at Beef like a man possessed! Late in the first round after both fighters settled a bit, Manilow landed a vicious right knee to Beef’s forehead and cut him! Manilow may have been a bit too anxious in the second round after seeing Beef bleed, and he came out swinging for the fences! Beef stayed collected and at the right moment, he unleashed a powerful right hook to the side of Manilow’s head and then, the only singing that happened were the birds inside of Manilow’s head because it was all over at that point! Beef nailed a vicious uppercut for good measure and the ref stopped the fight! Chicken “And” Beef is now 26-15 with a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK while Manilow falls to 13-6 with a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

Last but definitely not least was the lone Welterweight fight on the card as “Dragon” Ryuu Tatsuya – the man with Super Street Fighter name, and I do not care if you disagree with me – against Nik Volkov! Neither of these men is part of an outside organization so it was all about what their management teams and trainers prepared them for! Volkov took early control of the fight, cutting Tetsuya early in the first round with a nasty left hand counter that Tetsuya definitely did not expect! After that, both fighters settled down more and the fight was pretty even at that point. In the second round, Tetsuya woke his inner “Dragon” and went to work on Volkov, rocking him just after the two minute mark with a tremendous uppercut that nearly knocked Volkov off of his feet! Tetsuya followed that with a huge left that dropped Volkov! Tetsuya moved in quickly but Volkov regained his senses even faster and kept Tetsuya from gaining any submission advantages! Volkov tried his own submission near the end of the second round but it was well defended by Tetsuya! Tetsuya went on to control the fight from there and earned the Unanimous Decision victory! Tetsuya now stands at 16-13-1 with a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK, while Volkov now stands at 20-14-1 with a FOUR FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

All right good people, there you have the Post Pay-Per-View summary by yours truly! As always I thank you very much for taking time to read it and stay tuned for the next major night of action that Steel Penn ICON brings to you! Remember, Steel Penn provides outstanding entertainment, nutritional products, and top-notch training facilities!

SPFT 123: Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello good folks, it is Furious Styles Post Pay-Per-View Summary report of SPFT 123! I know, I know, many of you sent me emails asking me what happened to the summary because you received the ICON 1 summary but not the SPFT 123 summary! The ICON 1 event was so monumental that I was given special assignments for that event, including interviews with the fighters involved, which I hope all of you read by the way, but I will never overlook any Steel Penn event that I have been assigned to! So never fear, for the SPFT Post Pay-Per-View Summary is here!

Before ICON 1 arrived, Tokyo was already rocking its foundation because of this event one week before! SPFT 123 brought all of you TWO KNOCKOUTS, THREE TECHNICAL KNOCKOUTS IN A ROW, ONE SUBMISSION, and FOUR UNANIMOUS DECISIONS! Let’s get into the details of what went down that night!

Opening the night of action was a Super Heavyweight fight and it sure was a devastating way to start! Not only did Willy Stoppers knockout Matt Lisser in the first round, but he also earned KO of the Night for his trouble! “The Power” Willy Stoppers of the Children of the Law of One unleashed his punching power on Matt “Metal Hands” Lisser of the Broken Halo Pride! Early in the first round, Stoppers cut Lisser and that seemed to bother Lisser enough to where he altered his approach to the fight just a bit. Through the middle of the first round, both fighters demonstrated excellent offensive and defensive technique! However, Stoppers was able to find his range around the three minute mark and once he did, he dropped Lisser twice in a short period of time, both times as a result of a powerful right hand! The first punch was a cross then the next was an uppercut that was the beginning of the end! A final right hand stopped the punishment! Stoppers is now 27-11 with a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK while Matt Lisser falls to 16-9 and his TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK IS HALTED!

The next bout was also a Super Heavyweight contest that placed “The Torpedo” Tore Rebo of the Polish Eagles’ Nest in the cage against “The Engineer” Gor Keyman! Since this was a three round affair, both men saw fit to come out aggressively and keep the fight standing, which suits both men just fine! However, it was Rebo who was able to execute his technique better throughout the fight, though Keyman definitely had his moments! This was basically a battle of who can withstand whose power and ability because there were absolutely no submission attempts, neither man bled, and there were very few clinches. Basically, let me see if you can take my punches and kicks and I will see if you can take mine! In the end, Rebo was able to utilize his abilities a bit better and as a result, he won the fight by way of Unanimous Decision! Rebo improves his record to 25-13 and begins a NEW ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK, while Keyman’s record is now 25-10 and has a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK STOPPED!

The third fight brought us a Welterweight battle between “Indio” Simeon Malaya of the Steel Penn Alliance – all right now, break it down for the Alliance! – against Bapit “The Cowboy” Pradchapet of the Legion of Pain, the man whose name sounds like it is either a medicinal remedy or a character from Lord of the Rings! Again, due to this fight being three rounds, the aggression level was higher than usual I believe! Both men showed their worthiness of being in the cage against one another with various solid techniques and Pradchapet did what he could to get the fight to the ground and try to submit Malaya! Malaya defended himself well in the lone submission attempt and got the fight back to its feet where he was very comfortable and effective! Malaya settled in and looked for the opportunity to score points in the third round, which he did effectively! Pradchapet left just enough of an opening and Malaya rocked him with a solid right hand to the body that really hurt! Malaya then coasted to the Unanimous Decision victory! In addition, this fight was deemed the Fight of the Night! Malaya’s boosts his record to 21-7 with a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK! Pradchapet’s record falls to 28-17 and his FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK IS SNAPPED!

The final Super Heavyweight battle featured Jefferson Davis “Boss” Hogg of the Legion of Pain versus Marc Andre of Team Outkast! I do not know if Marc Andre or someone else angered the big man because he was all business, and as Andre found out, that is a potentially dangerous situation! Hogg unleashed the inner demon and overwhelmed Andre from the start! Brutal leg kicks set the tone for slowing down the smooth-moving Andre who was just a bit off with his offensive front in this fight! Andre made a critical error in missing a head kick that caused him to slip. He got to his feet quickly but that allowed Hogg to figure out his punching range and he worked the jab a bit before unloading a massive overhand right that stopped Andre cold in his tracks! Hogg now stands at 19-10 with a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK while Marc Andre is now 12-5 with a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

At the halfway mark of the night, Lester “Beetlejuice” Green, the man with the purple hair and represents the Steel Penn Alliance – whoo whooooo – versus Alexander Lansing of the Children of the Law of one in a Featherweight beauty was next on tap! This match began fast and even as both men looked to impose their will on the other early on in the fight! Lansing maneuvered himself into an attempted submission but Green’s defensive game was sound and he managed to slip out of the attempt! Near the end of the first round, Lansing definitely rocked Green with a big right hand but Green kept his senses enough to escape that danger! This seemingly woke Green up because the second round was his for the taking! Green fervently worked to get Lansing into a submission and after many excellent defensive efforts from Lansing, Green finally figured out how to get a Guillotine locked in and put Lansing to sleep! Since he was the only warrior to use a submission to gain victory, Green was also awarded Sub of the Night! Green is now 18-11-1 with a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK! Lansing falls to 14-7-1 and now has a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

Another Featherweight fight immediately after that one put “Wild Guy” Tony Kazarian of Team Outkast into the cage versus “The Casablanca Clouter” Marcel Cerdan of the Renegade Warriors! The first two rounds featured a lot of defensive maneuvering with sudden bursts of wrestling with both men using a lot of energy to gain the superior position! Various missed opportunities with the ground and pound and other times when the opponent’s defense was too sound to make anything of gaining superior position, both fighters began to show a little fatigue, as well as frustration! The second round definitely was more aggressive as both men had the upper hand at different times in that round! Cerdan cracked Kazarian cleanly in the third round with a stiff left hand but Kazarian withstood it well, a tribute to his strong chin! Kazarian took the fight to the ground and was enough of a “Wild Guy” with his high level of energy to earn the Unanimous Decision! “Wild Guy” moves his record up to 24-8-1 with a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK while “Casablanca Clouter” sees his record fall to 24-14-2 with a ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

The Light Heavyweight battle between Nisse Lind of GRABTHE.INFO and Cristiano Nascimento of The Goonies was the first of three fights in a row that did not last beyond the first round! Lind nailed Nascimento in the nose with a stiff jab and despite being cut by the punch, Nascimento smiled and asked for more! Now that’s one crazy dude right there! That seemed to inspire Lind to unleash his kicking game and he landed some nice kicks on Nascimento, slowing him down just enough! Once Lind figured out the proper distance, he unloaded a series of punches while running towards Nascimento and that caught him off guard! Nascimento was knocked to the canvas and Lind was on top of him, punching away until the referee had to step in and stop it! Lind is now an impressive 9-1 with a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK and Nascimento is now 16-10 and has a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK STOPPED!

The last Welterweight fight of the night pit Avon “The Finger” Stringer of GRABTHE.INFO – again, I refuse to elaborate on this nickname because I could fill an entire sheet of various uses of this nickname and honestly, it really is just too easy! – versus Nathan “Cable” Summers! I think after this first round loss, Summers may consider changing his nickname to “Satellite” or “Wireless” because his cable connection was snapped! Yes, I know all of that was a stretch but hey, it is my article so I can be corny if I wish! Stringer cut Summers with a head kick and that seemed to give Stringer the green light to step up his aggression! Until that point, neither fighter had any major advantage as they are both well-schooled and capable fighters. Near the end of the round, both fighters began to exchange shots with the other – no, not those type of shots – and Stringer saw his opportunity to capitalize with a nasty head kick that dropped Summers to the canvas! A quick couple of punches after that and the referee stepped in to stop it! “Finger” now has a record of 40-19 with a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! The guy likes to fight, a lot! Summers now stands at 21-10-1 with a ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

The last Lightweight battle was Gustav Graves of The Illuminati doing battle against Mahandry Andriamboavonjy – the man whose last name could very well be major points in the game Scrabble – and this one did not take long to end! Andre, that is what I will call Andriamboavonjy because that is just a lot to type each time, started off nicely as soon as the bell rang, going to Graves’ body with a nice left! Andre tried to capitalize on that and went for the takedown but Graves was far too prepared for that! Graves turned on the overdrive at that point and unleashed a flurry of activity that Andre just was not ready for! Andre recuperated enough to land some nice punches to the head and body, but Graves would not be slowed on that day! Andre avoided an attack and did a little shuffle to get himself balanced, but the shuffle wound up being detrimental because, as soon as he regained his footing, Graves landed a wicked head kick that floored Andre! Graves jumed on Graves like he stole something from him and after a nasty elbow and more punches, the ref stopped the fight! Graves is 38-16-1 with a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK while Andriamboavonjy – say that name three times fast in a row! – falls to 14-13 with a ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

The concluding fight was a Featherweight brawl between “Redz” Romano Schoots and Marty Laguna of The Black Hand – his last name always reminds me of Laguna Beach. What a beautiful area! – and this fight went the distance! The first round was classic stand-up fighting and both men had their moments when they landed some nice strikes, definitely! In the second round, Laguna cut Schoots with a great one-two punching combination! Schoots obviously recovered enough and was able to take the fight to the ground, controlling the action there and allowing himself to collect his thoughts! The second round was a wrestling demonstration by Schoots as he repeatedly kept the fight on the mat and the judges favored his ability to control the action there! Laguna had a chance in the third when he again rocked Schoots with a fantastic three punch combination! However, Schoots was able to weather the storm, clinched Laguna and was able to take control of the fight again! Schoots continued this momentum and earned the Unanimous Decision victory! Schoots is now 25-18 with a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Laguna drops to 27-14 with a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

There you have it folks, another Post Pay-Per-View Summary by yours truly and as always, I thank you very much for taking the time out of your day to read this and allow me to share some of what occurred at another Steel Penn event! SPFT 124: Pre-PPV Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello once again fight fans! I know, I know, things got kind of quiet for a while there because of the extended Labor Day weekend and such, but no worries, I’m back on the scene in Los Angeles at the Coliseum, and even though I’m here a couple of days early for SPFT 124, there is already a major buzz surrounding this upcoming event!

All right, let’s get down to brass tacks! 93,607 fans will be rocking The Coliseum to its very core and Steel Penn ICON will be responsible for the raucous! Each fight on September 7 will be a three-round, intense, brutal, polarizing battle that you definitely do not want to miss! There are FIVE LIGHT-HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTS, FOUR WELTERWEIGHT FIGHTS AND ONE LIGHTWEIGHT FIGHT for your viewing pleasure! Let’s take a closer look at our competitors!

We begin the night’s action with “God’s Spear” Ansgar Axelsson (17-4-1) – yes, I know, there are a plethora of colorful comments that I can make about the nickname “God’s Spear”, but I’ve already said my share and besides, all of you are intelligent and twisted enough mentally to put together colorful thoughts on your own – a representative of the Legion of Pain, stepping into the cage against Leonard Washington (22-10) of the FinnFighters – and rumor has it that Mr. Washington has a pretty nice chunk of change in his bank account so for you ladies out there, maybe this is your time to shine! – and this will be a clash of two fighters who have proven themselves! Washington has the experience factor in this fight but Axelsson has defeated his share of veteran fighters! Axelsson is on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK, while Washington had his FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of A J Hearts, a loss that Washington should take no shame in but will certainly look to rebound from as soon as possible!

The second fight features Moses Kealekapuna (24-7) of The Black Hand, doing battle against Nisse Lind (9-1) of GRABTHE.INFO. Obviously Kealekapuna – whose name quite honestly sounds like a new alcoholic beverage that is served at a popular sports bar – has a distinct experience factor of Lind in this contest but Lind’s record speaks for itself and he can’t be overlooked! Kealekapuna has been struggling recently, having lost TWO IN A ROW AFTER WINNING FIVE IN A ROW! He will absolutely look to get off the snide and get things turned around in this battle so Lind had better be ready! Lind recently had an RIGHT FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED, but he bounced back quickly as is on a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK entering this fight! Can the young upstart Lind from Kyoto, Japan overcome the experience of Kealekapuna, or will the seasoned vet take the youngster to school!?

Fight number three pits “The Bulldozer” Frank Martin (24-13) of the Legion of Doom – meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice! Sorry, I just had a childhood flashback of that guy’s voice and the way he said that phrase – taking on “Sweet” Puppy Love (23-13) of The Hit Squad. I have to say again folks that a name like “Sweet” Puppy Love just has so many implications of a character from an adult film, I just can’t think of anything else with that nickname! As you can see, both fighters have very similar records and ring experience so this one will drill down to sheer will and determination! Both men have experienced managers and training teams that know what to do, so this will definitely be a battle that will require solid fight planning and gaining the advantage as quickly as possible! Something tells me that Puppy Love will not be a playful pooch once that bell rings so I’m sure Martin will be ready! “The Bulldozer” is on a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK, while “Sweet” is on a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK!

The next fight gives us “The Bucket” Dantavious McJuckett (16-8-1) of Children of the Law of One – and whose name sounds like he could be the main character of either a Greek Tragedy or an unassuming bad ass who pretends like he doesn’t know how to fight then becomes a local legend by beating the crap out of local gangsters – against Somore “Tasty” Fudge (16-12-1) of Evolution Fight Clan! Okay, I admit it, I simply can’t resist the opportunity to comment on his name! Somore “Tasty” Fudge!? Really!? Oh man, it’s good he became a fighter because that just has so many bad associations with it that I can’t begin to list them, though I will say if he uses his name properly, he could probably hook up some hot dates with some hot women who like chocolate! Maybe his management team entices him to fight well because there’s a promise of fudge from Ghiradelli’s or somewhere if he wins! McJuckett enters the fight on a RECENT DRAW IN HIS LAST FIGHT, while Fudge is currently is also on a RECENT DRAW IN HIS LAST FIGHT! What, is this scripted!?

At the halfway point of the night, we have Nathan “Carnage” Corbett (17-8-1) – a man who apparently has a ravenous appetite and perhaps not just for fighting, but that’s a different story! – battling against “The Holy Man” Jensen Saint (29-16) of The Consortium! Saint hails from The Holy City, Vatican City, so as I commented on last time he fought, even though he lost to “The Bulldozer”, who is fighting right before Saint does, maybe Saint will hold a confession session, or will have a Bible discussion, before he steps into battle! Maybe “Carnage” has an appetite for knowledge and will be able to discuss religion and politics with Saint, but I would imagine this occurring after they fight of course! The Gold Coast Australian recently SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSS STREAK AND HAS A ONE WIN STREAK, while Saint’s loss to “The Bulldozer” SNAPPED A THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Say your Hail Mary’s and your prayers for a good, clean, hard-fought match between these two!

Fight number six focuses on the lone Lightweight fight between “The Honorable” James Dooalot (15-6) of the Legion of Doom – okay, let me get my Beavis & Butthead moment in here. “James Dooalot? He does a lot of what? Uh-huh-huh-huh!” – versus Gustav Graves (38-16-1) of THE ILLIMUNATI! Holy smokes, I know one thing that Graves likes to do a lot and that’s fight! Fifty-five fights! I don’t think some people have half of that number by the time they’re thirty-nine years old! Well, maybe they have fights with their significant others, but not fights in the ring! Dooalot is ten years the junior of Graves but will this work to his advantage or not!? I wonder if Dooalot will bring a judge’s wig and gavel with him and declare a miscarriage of justice if he loses! I’m just sayin’! Dooalot enters this fight with a RECENT ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK and Graves is on a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK!

Beginning the Welterweight sequence of action is “Indio” Simeon Malaya (21-7) – who has the name of an R&B singer or something like that but hey, he’s a member of the Steel Penn Alliance so it’s all good! – taking on “The Barracuda” Dirk Zeldenthuis (30-10) who is, hey wait a minute! Since when do Steel Penn Alliance members start fighting one another!? Hmm, I don’t know if I like that! No sir, I don’t like that…not at all! Oh man, I can just hear the smack talk after this one’s over! Well, moving on, Zeldenthuis has the experience edge, but Malaya has been able to overcome some very sound veterans so his confidence will be high! If I know the Steel Penn Alliance well enough, both men will definitely be using one of the 160 Quality Steel Penn nutritional products for this fight! See what I did there? That’s how you pimp the product! Malaya is on a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK and “The Barracuda” is one a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK! I will be watching this one closely to see what impact it has on the Steel Penn Alliance!

The eight ball, fight number eight, pits Samuraimo Rassi (17-9-1) of the FinnFighters – and whose name sounds like a hyped warrior character on one of those loud and flashy Saturday morning cartoons that are on TV now…not that I watch any of those, I just know about them! – against Avon “The Finger” Stringer (40-19) of GRABTHE.INFO! No ladies and gentlemen, I won’t launch into a diatribe about how I can manipulate Stringer’s nickname because as I’ve always said from the very beginning, it’s just too easy! Stringer definitely likes to fight as his record indicates, but he’s also a very capable veteran that Rassi will be sure to watch out for! Rassi is on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK and Stringer is on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! I wonder what Rassi’s strategy in this fight will be because in my opinion, there’s no distinct advantage he has in this fight, except perhaps his youthful energy! We’ll see what happens soon enough!

In our second-to-last fight, Gabriel Kiptanui (19-16-1) of the FinnFighters – and who honestly looks like he’s high all the time! – stepping into the cage against Julio Driggs (21-13) who has one of the sharpest points of hair that I’ve ever seen! How much gel, or mouse, or hairspray does he use to pull that off!? I bet he could use that as a weapon if he wanted to! Both fighters have similar in-ring experience and records so this will be another fight that boils down to planning and will power! There isn’t much that either fighter hasn’t seen so the one to capitalize on any mistakes will be the winner of this match as I see it! I’ll have to see how Kiptanui does in this fight because he honestly looks like he’s just enjoying life a little too much with that complacent look on his face! I’m sure once the bell rings he’ll snap into action but until I see it, I don’t know what to think! He recently snapped a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK AND HAS ONE WIN IN A ROW! Driggs is struggling a bit with a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

And our concluding battle features “1 8 1” Kenji Okabe (29-15) of the Legion of Doom – I’m not sure what “1 8 1” means, but someone should tell him that for this fight, he weighed in at “1 7 0”. I don’t know, maybe that will help!? – battling against “Mean Mugging” John Malham (22-15) of the FinnFighters – seems to me the FinnFighters and the Legion of Doom have a lot of action here tonight. Is there a rivalry between them or does the fight organizer just enjoy seeing these two factions battle it out!? Okabe has a bit of an experience edge in this fight but Malham has a considerable height advantage so his reach may cause Okabe some trouble! Okabe enters this fight on a ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK while Malham brings a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK! I’m not sure what’s causing Malham to struggle as of late, but maybe he’s too focused on mean mugging people with intimidating looks or maybe he’s just having a tough stretch! Either way, this will be an interesting fight because of the physical differences between the two fighters!

As always ladies and gentlemen, Steel Penn ICON prides itself in its hard work and dedication to bringing you historical events each and every time they organize an event! We hope you enjoy the fruits of the labor and as always, remember that Steel Penn has proven excellence in nutritional products, clothing, training facilities and event organization! See you this weekend at another night of epic proportions!

SPFT 124: Post-PPV Summary written by Furious Styles

All right my good people, yet another fantastic Steel Penn ICON event has been added to the annals of history and it was a great one! If you wanted to see knockouts then you absolutely got what you came for! There were FOUR TKO’S, ONE KNOCKOUT, ONE SUBMISSION AND FOUR DECISIONS, TWO OF WHICH WERE A SPLIT!

The Los Angeles Coliseum was rockin’ from foundation to rooftop in this event, let me tell you! The first match of the evening featured “God’s Spear” Ansgar Axelsson, now 18-4-1 of the Legion of Pain, versus Leonard Washington of the FinnFighters, whose record is now 22-11! Washington set the tone early in this fight by cutting Axelsson with a well-placed right hand that obviously caught Axelsson by surprise but he was able to gather his senses quickly! I believe that angered Axelsson because shortly thereafter, he returned the favor – spades if you will – and caught Washington with a swift right elbow that cut Washington! Washington decided to take the fight to the ground after that but Axelsson’s defensive abilities kept him out of trouble! Axelsson sensed something in the clinch game and aggressively sought to do exactly that! He worked his way in close to Washington, landed a brutal left hook to the head that opened up Washington’s cut even more, then went for the finish after a big right hand leveled Washington to earn the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Axelsson has now WON THREE IN A ROW while Washington has now LOST TWO IN A ROW!

The second fight of the night was Nisse Lind of GRABTHE.INFO, who has fought his way to a very impressive 10-1, versus Moses Kealekapuna of The Black Hand, whose record is now 24-8! It was obvious from the beginning that both of these men are highly skilled, very well trained and quite evenly matched! There was a lot of back-and-forth trading of beautiful standup techniques to open the fight! The second round was more of the same but Lind began to press the action just a bit more than Kealekapuna and he landed some very accurate shots, which impressed the judges as they gave the round to him! In the final round, both men decided to try and use clinch techniques to gain the upper hand, but as I said before, both men are highly skilled and had some difficulty landing any powerful shots, but Lind did enough work in the clinch to sway the fight completely in his direction to earn the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY! Lind has WON TWO IN A ROW while Kealekapuna has LOST THREE IN A ROW!

Fight number three placed “The Barracuda” Dirk Zeldenthuis of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – WHOOP WHOOOOOOOP! – whose record is now 31-10, in the cage against “Indo” Simeon Malaya of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – and I still have a bit of a problem with two cool Steel Penn Alliance members having to fight against one another, but hey, this is a business after all and in the Steel Penn Alliance, we’re all brotha’s so it’s cool! – whose record now stands at 21-8! Despite them being member of the same alliance, neither one of these men held anything back and this fight was a testament to their will to win! Zeldenthuis wanted to take this fight to the ground early and he was able to overcome Malaya’s defenses to do just that! Malaya covered himself well and prevented any major damage to continue to the second round! To begin the second round, it was obvious that “Barracuda’s” corner told him to look for submissions because he made multiple attempts to do so once he took the fight to the ground again, but Malaya kept his cool and displayed solid defensive techniques on the ground to withstand the attempts! In the final round, Zeldenthuis was content to control the action on the ground and not try anything to jeopardize the victory he sensed was his! He earned the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY and has now WON TWO IN A ROW! Malaya had his FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED, but like true Steel Penn members, they shook hands after the fight then went out and had a beer and some BBQ!

The fourth fight brought us “Sweet” Puppy Love of The Hit Squad, who has improved his record to 24-13, versus “The Bulldozer” Frank Martin of the Legion of Doom, who now has a record of 24-14! This was definitely the most controversial fight of the night – hey, maybe there should be an award called “Controversial Fight of the Night” that can be awarded to both fighters. I may have to contact Mr. Tycoon about that – because the bipartisan crowd was just as split as the SPLIT DECISION RESULT! Martin was looking rather eagerly to try and end this fight as fast as possible by way of submission! He made multiple submission attempts in the opening round but Love was well prepared and never allowed Martin to gain the upper hand! It was more of the same in the second round but Love turned the tables near the end of the round and tried a couple of submissions himself, but Martin made sure he was in good position to defend and attempt one last submission before the end of the round! Martin again exerted a lot of energy trying to end the fight in the final round but Love was able to thwart his attempts! Half of the crowd saw the fight going Martin’s way because he was the busier fighter, but the other half argued that Love prevented any damage and all of the attempts by Martin were futile! Puppy Love has now WON FIVE IN A ROW while Martin is on a ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

At the halfway point of the night, “The Holy Man” Jensen Saint from Vatican City who now has a record of 30-16 – I know I make it a point to write that he’s from Vatican City each time I focus on Saint, but I just think it’s pretty cool – of The Consortium, against Nathan “Carnage” Corbett, who is now 17-9-1, was the battle we witnessed! Both men fought valiantly but Saint was able to overcome Corbett late in the third round to earn the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Early in the first round, Saint established his punching and he cut Corbett with a beautiful one-two combination! Saint saw an early opening and took the match to the ground but Corbett became very active and attempted numerous submissions from his back! Saint attempted a few of his own but the vast majority of the work was done by Corbett. However, he gained no real advantage! In the second round, the action slowed just a bit but each man attempted to end the fight via submission! The judges scored that round in favor of Saint for certain! In the last round, Corbett attempted to finish the fight again by submission but Saint denied him! Near the end of the round, Saint let his hands fly and he worsened Corbett’s cut quite a bit and this, I my opinion, swayed the fight and overwhelmed Corbett! He did his best to hold on for those last few precious seconds but simply could not stop the barrage from Saint and the referee was forced to stop the action! Saint has begun a NEW ONE FIGHT WIN STREAK while Corbett begins a new ONE FIGHT LOSING STREAK!

The sixth fight of the evening saw Samuraimo Rassi of the FinnFighters, who is now 18-9-1, against the man with the nickname that causes people to snicker and imagine numerous avenues they can use his name, Avon “The Finger” Stringer of GRABTHE.INFO, whose record is now 40-20! Very much like the other SPLIT DECISION RESULT, this fight could have gone either way! The audience members were just as split about the fight as the judges were, an indication of just how close this fight really was! The first round was spent as a standup fight for the majority of the time until Stringer decided to take it to the ground near the end of the round! No major damage was done by either man but that was because both men showed great defensive technique and foot movement! The second round featured close-quarter combat with a lot of punches being throwin from the clinch! Both men attempted knees to the head but could not land because of the technique and ability of the opponent! Rassi was the busier fighter and I think that’s what swayed the judges to give him the second round! Stringer did his best to establish the ground game in the third round and he managed to keep Rassi down! However, he wasn’t able to capitalize on his positioning and finish the fight, but he clearly won the last round by controlling the action! However, Rassi was given the nod of victory! Rassi has WON THREE IN A ROW and Stringer has ONE LOSS IN A ROW!

Fight number seven pitted “The Honorable” James Dooalot of the Legion of Doom, who improved his record to 16-6, versus Gustav Graves from THE ILLIMUNATI, whose record drops to 38-17-1! Dooalot landed a solid right hand around the middle of the first round that cut Graves and caused him to stumble, the damage done being obvious! Graves gathered his senses and quickly moved in to clinch Dooalot! Graves was able to land some solid punches while in the clinch and that allowed him to gather his senses and get himself back into the fight! Dooalot managed to break the clinch and landed some sharp punches and kicks that didn’t hurt Graves but caused him to be more cautious! Dooalot surprised Graves by rushing in and clinching him, pressing him against the cage! While pressing, both men traded shots and Dooalot decided to break the clinch and throw his hands more! The strategy paid off as Dooalot surprised Graves with a brutal head kick that allowed Dooalot to move in and throw multiple punches until the referee had no choice but to stop the match and declare Dooalot the winner by TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT! Dooalot now has TWO WINS IN A ROW and Graves has his THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED!

Battle number eight featured “1 8 1” Kenji Okabe of the Legion of Doom, now 30-15, versus “Mean Mugging” John Malham of the FinnFighters, whose record now stands at 22-16! Okabe moved in quickly to take this fight to the ground and his persistence paid off as he was able to get Malham to the mat and keep him there! Malham could sense Okabe’s aggression and he attempted numerous submissions! However, due to bad positioning and Okabe’s wrestling ability, he wasn’t able to make Okabe tap and in the meanwhile, Okabe worked diligently to improve his position and ultimately positioned himself into full mount! Once this happened, Okabe let loose with a vicious ground-and-pound attack that Malham just simply couldn’t halt! He did his best but Okabe had the superior positioning and Malham was overwhelmed after taking some hard shots to the face! Malham had to tap out during the barrage because he simply was absorbing too much damage and knew that he could go on to fight another day! Okabe fought hard to earn the SUBMISSION VICTORY and has WON TWO IN A ROW while Malham has DROPPED THREE IN A ROW!

The second-to-last fight was a battle between Somore “Tasty” Fudge of the Evolution Fight Clan, who boosted his record to 17-12-1, versus “The Bucket” Dantavious McJuckett Fudge of Children of the Law of One, who is now 16-9-1! The first round was a test of ability and strength in the standup game as both men traded nice shots, showed sound technique both offensively and defensively, and took time to figure out one another and try to position the opponent into a disadvantage! McJuckett decided to take the fight to the ground around the halfway point of the second round, but Fudge was actively looking for a submission finish while on his back! Both men decided that the standup game was better for the both of them so they kept it on their feet for the rest of the fight! The third round was more energetic and more damaging for both men, but it was Fudge who took advantage of an opportunity afforded him by McJuckett that allowed him to surprise him with an uppercut that caught McJuckett flush under the chin! McJuckett dropped to the mat like a sack of rocks and just couldn’t recover because Fudge – no pun intended, gross or otherwise – was all over him! The referee had no choice but to stop the match and Fudge was awarded the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Fudge avenges a DRAW that he and McJuckett previously had so he puts a conclusion on that point of business! Fudge has WON ONE IN A ROW and has LOST ONE IN A ROW!

And finally, the last fight of the night was a tough battle between Julio Driggs, now standing at 22-13, and Gabriel Kiptanui of the FinnFighters, who is now 19-17-1! Kiptanui was like a pittbul as soon as the bell rang and he attacked Driggs’ legs, going for a quick submission via an ankle lock! Driggs kept his cool and wiggled out of the submission attempt just in time and got back to his feet, slightly frustrating Kiptanui during the process! Both men were dodging one another’s punches and kicks well until Driggs saw the opening he needed and faked a jab, setting Kiptanui up for a devastating right hook that really hurt Kiptanui! He went to Kiptanui’s body and distracted him because that was a setup for repeated right fists to Kiptanui’s head that he couldn’t stop! Driggs drilled away until Kiptanui fell to the mat with a KNOCKOUT VICTORY to end the night of fights! Driggs SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK and Kiptanui has now LOST ONE FIGHT IN A ROW!

As always I thank you very much for taking the time to read my thoughts on the events that transpired, it means a lot to me ladies and gentlemen! I hope you enjoyed the fights as much as I did and remember, Steel Penn ICON pushes its representatives, both employees and fighters alike, to go above and beyond to reach for the pinnacle of success and achievement! SPFT 125: Pre-PPV Summary

Hello ladies and gents, I hope all of you are well as always. This is your man on the scene, Furious Styles, live at the Los Angeles Coliseum where ninety-three thousand plus fans are going to be ballistic as always at yet another exciting and intense Steel Penn ICON event! This promises to be yet another night to remember as the warriors scheduled to fight in this event never disappoint, well, perhaps they disappoint some who place particular bets from time to time, but hey, that’s the nature of this beast!

The lineup for fight fans includes THREE FEATHERWEIGHT BATTLES, ONE OF WHICH IS FOR THE FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE, TWO LIGHTWEIGHT, ONE WELTERWEIGHT, TWO MIDDLEWEIGHT, ONE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT AND ONE SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT BATTLE! As usual, let’s get down to business, beginning with the lone title fight of the night!

The headliner, the Main Event, the primary showdown is “Wild Guy” Tony Kazarian of Team Outkast, whose record is currently 25-8-1 and enters the fight on a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK, vies for the title against current champion Adam Gracie of Legion of Pain, whose record is 19-9-1 and he brings with him a RECENTLY SNAPPED FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK at the hands of Lager Assassin! The champion is younger and a bit taller but honestly I see both of these fighters as quite evenly matched. Kazarian has a bit of an edge in terms of fighting experience but it seems Gracie has enough experience, particularly championship experience which is immeasurable, to be able to handle himself in the ring! Kazarian has had a lot of success with various submissions while Gracie has a bit more balance in terms of the types of victories. Needless to say, these men will be focused and ready, as they should be, because both of them have the ability to take advantage of any mistakes made by the opponent. This will be an excellent title fight and “Wild Guy” will surely be in wild form but I have no doubt Gracie will be well prepared!

The second Featherweight fight features “The Natural Weapon” Kim Figueroa of GRABTHE.INFO, with a record of 26-5, versus “The Casablanca Clouter” Marcel Cerdan, whose current record is 24-12-2 and enters this fight WITH A RECENT LOSS to Tony Kazarian! I wonder if Cerdan will be rooting for Gracie just because of recent events…? And the nickname “Natural Weapon” causes me to think that Figueroa probably had various experiences in school and I’m certain he has friends who, to this day, make fun of his nickname because of its suggestive nature. Men and women are born with natural weapons of sorts, and some learn how to use them better than others, but that’s a different story for some other time! Figueroa recently SNAPPED A THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK with a UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over Romano Schoots and will surely be looking to build on that momentum! Needless to say, Figueroa will look to quickly turn things around and get back on the right side of the win column! Clouter is the taller and slightly heavier fighter but I don’t think that will make much of a difference in this fight! This is the type of fight that can go either way so we’ll just have to see who is able to impose their will!

The final Featherweight fight of the night is “The Reaper” Grimly Fiendish – and I have a strong suspicion his favorite holiday is Halloween, which will be here in a little over a month so don’t be surprised if you see him dressing up for the occasion a bit early. Also, I probably wouldn’t accept any candy from him either. I’m just saying – whose record is 19-12 and is struggling with a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK, doing battle against Marty Laguna of The Black Hand, whose record is 27-14 and is on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Fights like these always turn out to be tough because both fighters are strongly motivated to end their losing streak because no fighter wants to have a losing streak! These men bring experience, toughness, and the desire to inflict pain so this should be an intense battle from start to finish! Laguna may opt to use his height advantage to keep Fiendish at bay but then again, both men just may decide to engage in close-quarter battle!

The first Lightweight contest of the evening pits “Flash” Gordon Lefleaur of Fearless Inc., with a current record of 25-7, taking on Guy Kopec of Public Enemy, whose record is 13-10 and his recent UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over Rocco Kailea SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Lefleaur comes into this fight having a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED with a RECENT LOSS to Luke Johnson by way of a SPLIT DECISION! “Flash”, I really hope he’s referring to the comic book character flash because honestly folks, I don’t know if I could take a MMA fight where I’m paying very close attention to the battle then suddenly one of the fighter’s flashes the audience! I think that would scar me for life! I also wonder if Kopec will enter the ring to any of the many great Public Enemy songs. How cool would it be if he came into the ring with “Fight The Power” or “Rebel Without A Pause”!? Great music! Guy is the taller fighter and may try to use his reach advantage in this one!

The last Lightweight fight places El Guapo of Legion of Doom and his 17-13 record in the cage against Mahandry Andriamboavonjy and his 14-13 record! All right, I’m going to have to interview Mahandry and ask him honestly how long it took him as a kid to learn to pronounce and spell his last name correctly! Good lord, his last name seems like it’s an answer to a complicated scientific formula or the answer to a very difficult trivia question! Saying his name correctly is a workout in and of itself! Mahandry recently lost to Gustav Graves via TKO STRIKES so he’s looking to overcome that first round defeat and put that past him! El Guapo had a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED by Hector Kilimanjaro by way of a UNANIMOUS DECISION LOSS! Since both men are entering this fight fresh off of losses, they will be extra motivated to cause their opponent to continue down the path of a losing streak while halting their own in the process! And I must say, El Guapo, I guess you have a way about you because the ladies do love you despite the wild hair. Maybe they like a wild-looking but not wild-acting man? Who knows with women, right!?

The solo Welterweight contest on this card is “Donkey Style AKA Badonk-A” Don Key of The Broken Halo Pride, whose record is 25-7-2, versus Mark Two of Tycoon Alliance and his 17-9 record! Don Key is on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK and so is Two, so both of these men are looking to stop the bleeding, so to speak! Now is “Donkey Style AKA Badonk-A” the nickname given to him by his amigos Colombia? Is he trying to make a YouTube video go viral by making his own version of Gangnam Style? And Mark Two? How many of them are there and do each of them have a numerical last name that they decided to spell out? Interesting warriors we have these days, I must admit! Both men are pretty evenly matched physically so Don Key may have to rely upon his experience advantage in this one!

The first Middleweight fight focuses on “Cunha” Jorge Junior of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE, whoop whooooooop, versus Mateus Gracie of Tycoon World Order! Junior is an impressive 17-2 entering this fight and is on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! Gracie steps into this contest with an 18-10 record and a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK! These two competitors match up very well physically so I think the mental aspect will be a very important factor in this one! There’s no doubt Junior is very confident as he has only tasted defeated twice thus far in his career and Gracie will have to rely on his fighting experience advantage to try and thwart that confidence! “Cunha” is a group of volcanic islands and Junior has shown he can be very explosive in his fights! Get it? See what I did there? Explosive and volcano? Okay, I’ll move on!

The remaining Middleweight fight is between “Captain Freedom” Matt Freeman of Spirit Warrior MMA, entering with a 13-7 record, and Chicken And” Beef of The Hit Squad, who brings a 26-15 record and a RECENT VICTORY over Barry Manilow! Freeman RECENTLY LOST to Glenn Carson and will be looking to turn things around while Beef was able to overcome the wannabe singer and wants to continue that winning cycle! “Captain Freedom” sounds like an action figure in the toy store or a new G.I. Joe character, but I respect him for being a patriot and wanting to honor American citizens the country, so hey, more power to him! I’m sure Beef will consume his customary diet of chicken and beef before this fight because he knows this is a matchup that’s quite even physically. It’s obvious by the number of fights he’s had that Beef has beef with a lot of fighters! Now I know you liked that one! Come on, that was good, give it up for that one! We’ll soon see if freedom or food prevails!

The lone Light Heavyweight fight places Cristiano Nascimento of The Goonies and his 16-10 record, versus “AJ” Anthony Joseph of ACME – St. Petersburg and his 20-15 record! Nascimento had a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Nisse Lind recently and is champing at the bit to begin a new win streak! Joseph is on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK and definitely wants to extend that to three! Joseph’s most recent victories have been by TKO so his striking game is on point coming into this fight! Nascimento has also won quite a few fights with his striking ability so it seems the man with the better defensive game plan and execution should have the advantage in this fight! There isn’t much of a physical difference between the two and Joseph does have a bit more fighting experience, but this should be a tough, even fight for both men and the preparation they’ve made in training camp will definitely be the x factor for this fight!

Wrapping up the night of fighting action are the big boys, the sides of beef, the earth moving Super Heavyweights! “Papa Doc” Francois Duvalier and his 15-10 record – no, not the guy from 8 Mile. Come on, how often do I have to remind people? – and “Brutal” Joe Biggs of Children of the Law of One and his 9-2 record, clash in this fight and there is sure to be some damage done by both men! Duvalier RECENTLY LOST to Christiano Smokeleaf so he is definitely looking to get back on the good foot! Biggs has plenty of momentum as he is on a THREE FIGHT WINNING STREAK so his confidence is definitely up there! Duvalier obviously has the experience factor in his favor so he may have to pull out some stops to throw Biggs off his game, if he can of course! This will be a fight where either man can put the lights out on the opponent with literally one punch! Heavy hands, strong bodies, grit and determination! This battle of the big boys has it all and will be one not to miss! Since both of these fighters are so tall, it’s going to be a long way down if one of them gets dropped and I know they don’t want that experience!

SPFT 125: Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I hope all of you had a great weekend! Wow, what a Steel Penn ICON event we witnessed this past Saturday night! The Los Angeles Coliseum was rockin’ like a fat earthquake rolled through town! As usual, Steel Penn ICON brought to you a historical event that will be spoken about for a long time! The night of action featured TWO KNOCKOUTS, FOUR TECHNICAL KNOCKOUTS, ONE SUBMISSION, TWO UNANIMOUS DECISIONS, and a first for me…A NO CONTEST!

Let me start off with the championship fight for the Featherweight title! The two warriors in this title fight, Adam Gracie (20-9-1) of the Legion of Pain, and “Wild Guy” Tony Kazarian (25-9-1) of Team Outkast definitely brought it! There was no backing down by either man and no let downs of any sort! Both management teams should be very proud of their fighter, that’s for certain! From the moment the bell rang, both men looked to incorporate their ground-fighting skills on the opponent and it made for some very interesting and intelligent attacks and counter-attacks! Both men were able to land some clean shots on the other with ground and pound from various positions, but neither man caused nor took a lot of damage during those moments of the fight. We saw excellent grappling defense displayed by both fighters, a tribute to their dedicated training. However, in the third round, Gracie was patient enough to take advantage of a miscue by Kazarian who was a bit too relaxed when Gracie began locking in a sneaky Triangle Choke! Congratulations to Adam Gracie as he WINS THE FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE and puts himself back in the winning column! Kazarian has a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED but will be right back in action against Alfredo Torres!

The second Featherweight match placed “The Casablanca Clouter” Marcel Cerdan (25-14-2) against “The Natural Weapon” Kim Figueroa (26-6) of GRABTHE.INFO! The opening round showed us excellent stand-up fighting techniques displayed by both fighters! There were great blocks, avoidance of punches and kicks, smooth body movements and obvious determination! A brief clinch in the first round proved futile for both men quite honestly and they recognized that, so they opted to break the clinch and keep going at it with more distance between them! In the second round, Figueroa was a bit more aggressive but Cerdan used his fighting experience advantage against Figueroa and counter-punched very effectively! A beautiful punching combination by Cerdan cut Figueroa and he just couldn’t quite recover from that! That ultimately led to a nasty left uppercut that wobbled Figueroa and Cerdan pounced on his opportunity until the referee had no choice but to stop the fight! There were fight fans who tweeted questions about Figueroa’s decision to make the fight more of a stand-up fight when they felt he had the advantage with his ground game. Cerdan puts himself BACK ON THE WINNING SIDE OF THINGS with this victory while Figueroa FALLS BACK INTO THE LOSS COLUMN!

The final Featherweight bout featured “The Reaper” Grimly Fiendish (20-12) versus Marty Laguna (27-15) of The Black Hand! Grimly Fiendish, who I’m sure is becoming more excited each day as Halloween approaches, must have been pumped up on Halloween candy or something because he came out firing in this match! In the early part of Round 1, Laguna was in firm control, establishing a nice rhythm of movement as well as punching prowess! It took Fiendish a little while to gather himself but once he did, he turned the tables quickly! After taking Laguna down with a nice dodge of a punch then lunge forward, Fiendish went to work! Laguna was able to prevent most of the damage with very sound grappling defense, but Fiendish’s aggression proved to be the difference! Feindish was able to pass Laguna’s guard and Laguna didn’t look comfortable on his back to begin with! Once the mount was established, Fiendish fired away until the referee had to step in! Fiendish SNAPS A THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK with this victory, while Laguna EXTENDS HIS LOSING STREAK TO THREE!

The first of two Lightweight battles pit Guy Kopec (13-10) of Public Enemy and “Flash” Gordon Lefleaur (25-7) of Fearless Inc. against one another! Various rumors have been floating around the Twitterverse – that is what the colloquial term is now for the Twitter universe, yes? – that Lefleaur was either caught flashing someone and was taken to prison for an overnight stay, he didn’t have an updated GPS and got lost on the way to the Coliseum, he forgot the three hour Time Zone difference between New York and Los Angeles, or quite simply, he overslept! Either way, this match resulted in a no contest, which was unfortunate, but Kopec did show off some dancing skills to his “Boats N Hoes” entrance music so it wasn’t all that bad! Kopec’s next opponent is Master Chuin and Lefleaur is set to face Mitsuyo Maeda. Hopefully Lefleaur will have updated his GPS software by that point or will make flight arrangements to be at the next event a few days in advance. I’m just sayin’.

The final Lightweight fight of the night featured Mahandry Andriamboavonjy (15-13), or as I’ll call him, “Alphabet Soup”, because with a last name like that, holy crap, that’s complicated for a lot of people!, versus El Guapo (17-14) of Legion of Doom! In the first two rounds, both warriors elected to forgo the standup game mostly and went for wrestling and submission superiority! There was a definite feeling out process as sometimes the action slowed down quite a bit, but would suddenly pick up the pace very quickly as each man struggled to take advantage of opportunities they created for themselves! The skill level of these fighters was quite equal so the energy level output is what determined the winner in my opinion! In the third round, it became apparent to both men that they were going to have to press the action and do so in a big way! That’s exactly what they did by deciding to fight toe-to-toe for the majority of the round, both men showing a nice balance of punching technique and defensive know how through parries and footwork! Overall the judges agreed that Mahandry was the more dominant fighter on the ground and held his own in the standup game, so he earned the Unanimous Decision victory! Mahandry puts himself back in the W column with this victory while El Guapo has now LOST TWO IN A ROW!

The sole Welterweight fight brought us “Donkey Style AKA Badonk-a” Don Key (26-7-2) of The Broken Halo Pride – and I still wonder if his parents just enjoyed the old school game “Donkey Kong” so much that they decided to name him that – battling Mark Two (17-10) – another gentleman who I wonder what the parents thought when they agreed to that particular last name. Both men were willing to trade punches and kicks while going head-to-head and the crowd appreciated it very much! Solid striking occurred for both men and some damage was done in the clinch by both men. However, neither fighter really had an advantage until Don Key caught Two with a surprising right knee right down the middle of Two’s guard and though Two scrambled back to his feet quickly, the damage was done as evidenced by the cut on Two’s forehead! Don Key knew Two was in trouble and he measured him perfectly for a vicious right hand that immediately dropped Two in his tracks and he was unconscious before he even hit the mat! Don Key not only SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK, but also earned KO OF THE NIGHT HONORS! Two has LOST THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW and, rumor has it, he is now a Free Agent! Hmm, I wonder if it was the recent struggles in the cage, or was it the pink thong he wore into the fight!? Hey, I have to ask because that’s just…flamboyant!

The first of the two Middleweight fights was between Mateus Gracie (19-10) of Tycoon World Order and “Cunha” Jorge Junior (17-3) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE. Booyaaaa! Gracie was on a mission during this fight and it appeared Junior was a bit thrown off in the early goings of this fight! Gracie caught Junior with a picture-perfect jab that opened up a cut by his right eye and that seemed to bother the young fighter more than expected! Junior got his senses back quickly enough to land some nice kicks and show off good footwork in defensive mode, but Gracie was definitely the busier fighter and landed solid punches and kicks! Gracie used a takedown to slow the pace and control the fight on the ground, a strategy he implored moving into the second round as well! He was able to maneuver himself into good position and caused some damage with the ground and pound, but much to Junior’s credit, he never panicked and he was able to avoid any serious damage! He also kept Gracie from getting too comfortable on the mat so Gracie couldn’t maneuver into better positioning quite often. The third round was definitely a much faster-moving round for both fighters! Junior got the takedown but Gracie attempted the submissions! Near the end of the round, both men landed some brutal shots and Junior’s cut was opened up een more! Gracie was awarded the Unanimous Decision victory and has WON FOUR FIGHTS IN A ROW! Junior has a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED!

The other Middleweight fight featured Chicken “And” Beef (27-15) of The Hit Squad against “Captain Freedom” Matt Freeman – I’ll call him the Patriotic Warrior – (13-8) of Spirit Warrior MMA! The Patriotic Warrior pressed the action in the first round and not only managed to take Beef to the mat, but he also cut him a little bit with a solid leg kick after the halfway mark of the round! Although he was cut, the judges saw the round going to Beef because he was the busier, more effective fighter, though Freeman was also quite active. In the second round, Freeman was a man possessed and when he was able to take Beef to the mat, he unloaded with numerous punches that did some damage and scored some points, but much to Beef’s credit, his defensive capabilities prevented him from taking serious damage and he survived the round! Beef knew what task he had on hand because of the second round and in the third, he executed his game plan! After taking an accidental headbutt from Freeman on an attempted takedown that Beef stopped, Beef threw caution to the wind and went for it all! It appeared that Freeman simply ran out of gas and began throwing lazy punches mixed in with an occasional solid punch! One lazy uppercut attempt opened Freeman’s defenses and that quickly, Beef was all over him with a painful series of punches that forced the referee to stop the action! Beef has WON TWO IN A ROW while Freeman has lost TWO IN A ROW!

The lone Light Heavyweight fight of the evening occurred between Cristiano Nascimento (17-10) of The Goonies versus “AJ” Anthony Joseph (20-16) of ACME – St. Petersburg! This fight didn’t start well at all for Joseph who was on the wrong end of a kick right between the oysters! It was obvious that Nascimento didn’t mean to kick him south of the border and he looked very bothered. Both he and the crowd were happy to see Joseph give the thumbs up to continue the fight and both men touched gloves before continuing! Both warriors traded punch and kick attempts, some landing while others had no chance then Nascimento found an opening and nailed Joseph with a stiff right hand that cut Joseph above the right eye! Both men continued to try and land various punches and kicks, but good footwork and defensive skill made it difficult for either one to really find an opening to take advantage of! Around the three minute mark, Nascimento threw off Joseph’s timing by stepping in quickly and landing a left jab that opened up Joseph’s cut even more! That turned out to be the opening Nascimento needed as he pressed the action even more Joseph attempted a strong leg kick but Nascimento saw it coming and landed a great left counter left cross that landed right on the chin! He quickly followed that with a brutal right hook to Joseph’s temple and that one really hurt! Joseph crumpled to the mat but Nascimento didn’t pursue, rather allowing Joseph to get back to his feet! Joseph did but it was apparent that he wasn’t completely recovered and when he took a quick look at the clock, he was leveled by another vicious right hand from Nascimento that knocked him out before he hit the mat! Nascimento turns things around and is BACK IN THE WIN COLUMN! Joseph has a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED!

And finally, the last fight of the night was the big boys, the mack trucks, the Super Heavyweights! “Brutal” Joe Biggs (10-2) of Children of the Law of One versus “Papa Doc” Francois Duvalier (15-11) promised heavy-hitting action and neither man disappointed! Both men are known for their heavy hands and knockout power and it was definitely on display in this contest! “Brutal” lived up to his nickname with resounding results! Both men are world class boxers and have excellent cardio for men their size, so this boiled down to mere desire! Duvalier moved in to try and take advantage of Biggs in the clinch, but it turned out to work in Biggs’ favor as he landed solid shots, including one big right hand that echoed in the arena! Duvalier responded with a two punch combination later in the round that cut Biggs above his left eye and it was obvious Biggs was a bit surprised by that! Biggs settled quickly and after knocking Duvalier off-balance with a solid leg kick, he began to let his boxing skills flow and that was a wise decision! After trading shots, Biggs again slowed Duvalier with a very strong leg kick that knocked Duvalier down but he got right back up! However, when he got up, Biggs measured him beautifully and unleashed a straight right hand that honestly would have stopped anyone in their tracks! Duvalier crumpled to the mat and Biggs leapt on the opportunity to ground and pound him until the referee had no choice but to stop the fight! Biggs now has WON FOUR FIGHTS IN A ROW while Duvalier has now LOST TWO IN A ROW!

SPFT 126: Pre Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Greetings ladies and gents, I hope all of you are well as always. This is your man on the scene, Furious Styles, live at the Los Angeles Coliseum once again where ninety-three thousand plus rowdy action fiends are going to be crazy as always at yet another exciting and intense Steel Penn ICON event! This will definitely be another page in the annals of MMA history because the fighters for this event are definitely primed and ready! I hope all the gamblers out there have placed their bets and I wish you the best of luck! I’m a Craps man myself, but that’s neither here nor there! By the way, take a look at the specially made poster for this event! How cool is a purple-colored crow with green glowing eyes!?

On September 27, Steel Penn will bring to you the following: THREE FEATHERWEIGHT, TWO LIGHTWEIGHT, TWO WELTERWEIGHT, ONE MIDDLEWEIGHT, ONE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT AND ONE SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT BATTLE! It’s going to be on like Donkey Kong, especially when Virgil Cid and James Dooalot battle for the Lightweight Championship! All right folks, I think you’re settled in by now so let’s get down to business!

Per my customary approach, I’ll focus on the title fight first! Virgil Cid (20-6) of Children of the Law of One steps into the ring to defend his title against “The Honorable” (16-6) James Dooalot of the Legion of Doom! The champ has a bit of an in-ring experience advantage but Dooalot has the skills to match him, at least from my perspective! These two combatants match up well physically so this match will be decided more by skill level and determination! Cid has had quite a few decision victories during his career, but don’t be fooled! He definitely has the ability to end the fight quickly with his solid punching ability! Dooalot has been knocking out most of his opponents recently and will definitely look to build on that momentum! He has shown that both his hands and legs carry quite a whallop but I’m sure Cid will be well prepared! Cid is rolling along very well and his confidence is high because he’s on a FIVE FIGHT WINNING STREAK! Dooalot brings a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK into this championship match so this is the right time for both of these warriors to clash! This will definitely be an excellent title fight!

While I’m focusing on the Lightweight portion of the evening’s events, let me turn the attention to the other Lightweight contest which features Hans Landa (21-12-1) of ACME – St. Petersburg – and by the way, Inglorious Basterds is an absolutely great movie! Hans Landa was a cool, cold-blooded dude and that scene where he pulled out his fat pipe to smoke it; classic! – battling against Gustav Graves (38-17-1) of THE ILLIMUNATI! Landa goes into this fight with a RECENT UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over Hector Kiliminjaro! Gustav had a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED by, uh oh, here goes that awkward tension at a PPV again…”The Honorable” James Dooalot! Hmm, I’m not much of a betting man but I’d feel safe wagering that Graves will definitely not feel bad if Cid defeats Graves. I’m just sayin’! Landa has won a good number of fights by knockout and technical knockout so he has proven to be a hard hitter! However, one can’t overlook the Icelandic bomber as his last three fights have been victories by way of technical knockout! I truly believe this fight will feature some very heavy hits that will make the crowd ooh and ahh! Which man will overcome the other!? Time will tell!

Honing in on the Featherweights, the first competitors in that division will be Tad Ghostal (28-11) of Tycoon World Order versus Carlton “Razor” Robinson 26-13-1) of Evolution Fight Clan! Ghostal – whose last name sounds like a cool adjective used to describe a spirits image, and just in time for Halloween, or a video game character in an action game that’s centered on Ghost Hunting – enters the cage on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! On another side note, I admit that I like the shirt he’s wearing. That kung fu frog is pretty kick ass! Robinson, the English gentleman that he is, steps into this fight with a RECENT TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY over Daigon Kins! The shirt that Robinson is currently wearing cracks me up because it just says “CUSTOM”. Both warriors favor victories by knockout but they have been able to obtain victory by way of decisions and the occasional submission! I believe this fight will be a standup, toe-to-toe affair and that should prove to be both exciting and brutal, just the way Steel Penn ICON likes their fights to be!

The second Featherweight fight pits Kelsey Curtis (12-9-1) against Collin Glorious (26-11-3) of The Broken Halo Pride! Hmm, with a last name like Glorious, I don’t understand why he wasn’t in the movie “300” or something else along those lines, because they obviously believed fighting to the death was glorious. See, I pay attention to good movies! Curtis has had a very interesting past five fights in particular! Although he enters this fight on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK, the three fights prior to that were ALL NO CONTESTS! Honestly people, this is the year 2013! You can’t tell me that a fighter’s management team doesn’t know how to use GPS, MapQuest, Yahoo Maps, or whatever application amongst the numerous ones that are available to assist people with travel! Or perhaps I’m jumping the gun and they simply had trouble finding transportation for their fighters because their fighters don’t like to fly! Whatever it is, having that occur three times in a row is very odd! Maybe Curtis just plain scared his opponents!? Glorious has had FIVE DECISIONS in his past five fights! That’s incredible to me but hey, that’s the way it goes sometimes! Both men will look to end this fight so they can show they have the ability to get the job done and take it out of the judge’s hands!

The final Featherweight battle features Tim “Hijack” Ernst (17-13-1) of ACME – St. Petersburg against Gerald Hodges (22-17)! This will be a fight determined by the sheer will to halt a losing streak because both men will be diligently trying to get back in the win column! Hodges may opt to rely on his fighting experience advantage in this one but Ernst may opt to use his height advantage and try to outbox Hodges and hijack the victory! You know you like that one so I don’t want to hear it! Both fighters have the capability of ending the fight at a moment’s notice so both management teams will have to prepare their respective fighters defensive capabilities to avoid a one-shot knockout as best as possible! I believe this fight will prove to be very interesting in terms of each fighter’s game plan entering the ring, because both men may be more tentative than usual, not wanting to present an opening that can be taken advantage of! Ernst is on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK, both of which have come at the hands of Leopold Scotch! Hodges suffered A RECENT LOSS to Kalash Nikov!

The first Welterweight fight gives us Luke “The Jedi Knight” Skywalker (25-9) of GRABTHE.INFO versus Vincent “The Wolf” Volkov (32-18-1) of Hellraiser Inc! Skywalker steps into the ring on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK and Volkov RECENTLY LOST to Aaron Davidson! Actually, both men have recently lost to Aaron Davidson! What’s up with that? Does he have some kind of magic elixir against these two fighters!? Well, whatever it is, I sense that both men will quickly want to turn things around! See what I did there, I used my “force” to “sense” what both fighters will want to do!? Come on, I couldn’t let the Star Wars reference go without saying something! How much do you want to bet that Skywalker still has his original Star Wars toys in their boxes, unopened, and is waiting for the right time to put those bad boys on eBay and make a ton of money!? Actually, come to think of it, maybe I should stop talking about him and see if I can get my hands on any collectibles he has so I can make some money too! Volkov has the obvious experience factor in his favor but Skywalker is younger and may be able to channel the force! I’m just saying! I think Volkov will come out aggressively and try to end this quickly because Skywalker may have the conditioning advantage and youth never hurts to have either!

The final Welterweight fight highlights Bapit “The Cowboy” Pradchapet (28-17) of Legion of Pain versus Vladimir Zenin (24-13-1)! Honestly I didn’t know there were cowboys in Thailand because my knowledge of Thailand centers around tourist areas and of course, Muay Thai kickboxing! Come to think of it though, Ong Bak and The Protector / Tom Yung-Goong did have some very interesting and odd-ball characters, so hey, anything is possible anywhere! Tony Jaa is a bad little dude! Pradchapet had a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Simeon Malaya so you know he wants to regain that winning form as quickly as possible! Zenin is on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK so very much like Pradchapet, he wants to get things turned around and in a hurry! There’s no real fight experience advantage here and both men have shown they can win in various ways, so again, I believe this will be the type of fight where more game plan and particular training will make the difference! Pradchapet has a bit of a height advantage in this fight but Zenin has a bit of a weight advantage, so we’ll have to see if either fighter is able to capitalize on their respective advantage!

The lone Middleweight battle pits Glenn Carson (21-11-1) of Legion of Doom versus “Insane” Barry Manilow (13-6) of Hellraiser Inc! Caron had a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED by Mateus Gracie! Manilow is on a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK and quite honestly folks, it doesn’t look good for him against Carson either! Although I heard him singing “Can’t Smile Without You”, he doesn’t look to be in good spirits and that’s very bad news for him, but excellent news for Carson! He seemed to have plenty of energy but he just didn’t look right! Physically both men match up almost exactly the same, which seems to be a rarity these days, but Carson looks much more excited about this fight than Manilow! I have a strong feeling that if Carson wins this fight, he’ll rub it in just a little by singing “Sweet Caroline” by Neil Diamond! Simply stated ladies and gentlemen, I don’t see this fight going beyond the first round! I know as a fighter it’s difficult to pick yourself up after a loss, but the ones who are capable of doing that and getting their morale to a high level always fare better in their next fight!

The sole Light Heavyweight battle of the evening is Bang McGee (26-18) versus “The Bucket” Dantavious McJuckett (16-9-1) of Children of the Law of One! McGee, the man with the name that is probably featured in an adult movie somewhere, enters the cage with a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK while McJuckett enters battle with a RECENT LOSS to Somore Fudge! McJuckett has a slight physical advantage in terms of height and weight, but I’m not sure that will be much of a factor in this fight! McGee definitely has the fighting experience advantage, but McJuckett has earned hard-fought victories over warriors with more experience in the cage! McJuckett is the younger fighter and his energy level may prove to make a difference. I also wonder what exactly his nickname, “The Bucket”, refers to. Maybe he was a hard partier in college and needed a bucket to keep himself clean? Or perhaps he drove an old, beat up car that was called a bucket in slang terms, and he liked that so much he decided to hold onto that term? Either way, I’m sure this fight will be as interesting as the two combatants participating in it! Whenever both fighters are on losing streaks, they definitely have more of an edge to them, well in most cases anyway, because no one likes to lose! We’ll see what takes places between these two!

Rounding up the night’s events are the big boys, the heavy-handed brutal beasts, the earth shakers and wall breakers…the Super Heavyweights! Rumble Lord (15-12) and Piru Parka (25-18) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – that’s right, Steel Penn in the houuuuuse! – are the large and in charge gentlemen who are slated to do battle in the cage! Rumble steps into this fight having won a RECENT TKO VICTORY over Cain Marko! “The Purple Haired Warrior” Parka is on a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Obviously “purple” Parka wants to get off the snide and back into the winning groove! Even though Rumble won his most recent fight, when I saw him doing final preparations for this fight, he didn’t look too enthusiastic about it! I don’t know if he was having a bad hair day – well, a worse-than-normal hair day because let’s be honest, the young man looks like he stuck his finger into a light socket! – or something else, but he just didn’t look like he was pumped up for this fight! Parka, on the other hand, looked very excited and ready for this fight and is undoubtedly anxious to have that winning feeling again, especially since he’s a member of Steel Penn and is being ribbed by some of his fellow alliance members!

SPFT 126: Post Pay-Per-View Summary

Hello fans of MMA Tycoon, and welcome to another Pay-Per-View summary written by your man on the scene, Furious Styles! SPFT 126 proved to be another exciting chapter of fight history written by warriors who wanted to prove themselves in the cage! Steel Penn ICON brought another night of action and surprise that did not disappoint! Let’s get down to business!

The Los Angeles Coliseum was once again shakin’ and quakin’ as 93000+ crazy fight fans were chanting, yelling, and wanting more as the night wore on! Once all was said and done and the dust settled, the results were as follows: THREE DECISIONS, ONE OF THEM A SPLIT, ONE OF THEM A MAJORITY AND THE LAST A UNANIMOUS; TWO TECHNICAL KNOCKOUTS; THREE SUBMISSIONS, AND TWO OF THEM WERE USING THE SAME FINISHING MANEUVER, AND ONE KNOCKOUT!

Beginning as usual with the Championship fight of the night, Virgil Cid (21-6) of Children of the Law of One and “The Honorable” James Dooalot (16-7) of Legion of Doom for the Lightweight title! All I can say is…what a fight! This is absolutely one of those fights where the opinion of anyone you can ask is in favor of one fighter or the other and anyone that saw the fight could easily tell the judges struggled with the decision! There’s a reason why this was the fight of the night! The first four rounds were simply mano-y-mano, man-to-man, toe-to-toe, warrior versus warrior! There were no takedowns, no clinches, nothing like that, just straight up skill, will, and thrill! Beautiful techniques were on display by both combatants as they threw picture-perfect punches, kicks, combinations, plus had awesome defensive maneuvers and footwork! From my perspective, Dooalot had the advantage early in the fight when throwing kicks! They were well-defended most of the time, no doubt, but when they hit, they hit hard! Cid is a tough, strong fighter and he was able to absorb the punishment and keep on coming! Cid got his share of kicks in too so don’t get it twisted! The action continued back-and-forth until near the end of the fourth when Dooalot decided to clinch and try to soften the champion up, but he wasn’t able to take full advantage! Dooalot was able to cut the champion a bit near the end of the fight, but it simply wasn’t enough in the judges eyes to sway the fight in his favor! Judge Jack Bonds was the swaying vote for Cid, much to the dismay of Dooalot, but he has nothing to hang his head over! Cid earns the SPLIT DECISION VICTORY!

Staying focused on the Lightweight division, the other fight in this weight class was Hans Landa (22-12-1) of ACME – St. Petersburg versus Gustav Graves (38-18-1) of THE ILLIMUNATI! Landa – still one of the greatest movie characters of all time in my opinion. What an intelligent, cold-blooded bastard he was! See what I did there? Inglorious Basterds…Landa’s a bastard…oh never mind! – was focused and locked in for this battle! The Berlin brawler was calculating and smooth, which turned out to be the difference in this fight! Landa locked Graves into a clinch early in the round and this turned out to be a big problem for Graves! He was able to land some punches on Landa but they simply didn’t carry enough pop behind them to cause Landa to back off! Graves did an excellent job of defending three quick takedown attempts but that seemed to take more energy out of him than it should have, and this was the difference in the round! Once Landa locked his hands around Graves, he took him to the mat and transitioned into side control very smoothly and quickly! Graves’ face showed the frustration he felt and that was the beginning of the end! Landa isolated Graves’ right arm, locked in a beautiful arm triangle, and Graves had no choice but to tap! That SUBMISSION VICTORY earned Landa a shot at the title against Virgil Cid! I wonder if Landa wins, will he pull out an oversized pipe and smoke some tobacco to celebrate his victory?

The first of three Featherweight fights featured Tad Ghostal (29-11) of Tycoon World Order battling against Carlton “Razor” Robinson (26-14-1) of Evolution Fight Clan! I’m telling you folks, that kung-fu frog shirt that Ghostal wore in this fight gives him a bit of an edge! I know it sounds strange but there’s some kind of energy it gives him because he came out and dominated this fight against a solid, experienced opponent! Robinson was a bundle of energy early in the first round, attempting to establish tempo while finding his range against the good defense of Ghostal! Robinson hit Ghostal with some decent punches but Ghostal settled in, landed some kicks then picked up the accuracy and pace of his punches in return! Ghostal took the fight to the mat around the middle of the round but neither man was able to take full advantage because of the skill of the opponent, a testament to their training regiment and knowledge! Ghostal then opted to clinch but again, neither fighter could really take full advantage! Ghostal attempted more ground-and-pound early in the second round but to no avail, so he slowed the pace until the ref stood both men up! Ghostal seemed to keep Robinson off balance after that because he had a lot of difficulty connecting with any shots on Ghostal and Ghostal was in a groove, moving in-and-out smoothly and landing excellent punches and kicks! In the final round, Robinson tried to take advantage of Ghostal in the clinch but just wasn’t able to fully capitalize! Ghostal, in turn, took Robinson to the mat again and kept it there until the final horn! Ghostal dominated the fight in the eyes of the judges, therefore earning the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY and a title shot against Adam Gracie!

The second Featherweight fight brought us Collin Glorious (27-11-3) of The Broken Halo Pride against Kelsey Curtis (12-10-1)! I have to be honest about this one folks, I never thought I would see any fighter get dropped by a SUPERMAN PUNCH, but low and behold, that’s exactly what Glorious did! I guess there’s something to his last name because that was a rather glorious victory for him! You like that use of his last name? Pretty slick huh? Oh come on, you know you thought about it too! Taking nothing away from Curtis at all, I think he was simply caught off guard, as many of us who witnessed this fight were, by the surprising move used by Glorious and unfortunately, it caught him unaware and ended the fight! Glorious was more aggressive in the standup game and Curtis definitely tried to slow things down and take the fight to the mat, but Glorious was able to thwart the takedown efforts and he timed Curtis’ defensive move perfectly, hitting the Superman Punch and earning the KNOCKOUT VICTORY!

The final Featherweight fight of the evening placed Gerald Hodges (23-17) and Tim “Hijack” Ernst (17-14-1) of ACME – St. Petersburg across the cage from one another! From very early in the fight, it was apparent that these two fighters wanted to clinch the opponent and punish him with various punches! Hodges literally rushed Ernst and locked him in a clinch before Ernst could really get ready! Ernst broke the clinch twice then locked in one of his own, a little one-upsmanship if you will, but Hodges broke that clinch! Hodges caught Ernst completely off guard with a sweet head kick that cut Ernst’s forehead but he took it like a champion! More clinching but no major damage done is how the opening round ended! In the second round, Ernst locked in a tight clinch and blasted Hodges with a stifling right hand that wobbled Hodges, but he managed to hold on and get himself back in the fight! Ernst tried to end the fight and expended a lot of energy in doing so, but Hodges’ defensive abilities kept him from being put away and that turned out to be the difference! In the final round, it seemed both men wanted to have a clinch contest as there were numerous clinches and breaking of clinches, but again, neither man took any real damage. However, the judges saw it as Hodges did more with his opportunities than Ernst did and there, they awarded the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY to Hodges!

Two Welterweight fights were highlighted on the card, the first being Vincent “The Wolf” Volkov (33-18-1) of Hellraiser Inc. versus Luke “The Jedi Knight” Skywalker (25-10) of GRABTHE.INFO! I think I was one of many people who wanted to see if Skywalker tried to use any fancy hand movements or any other mystical-type situations to suggest he was using the Force, but the only force I saw were two fighters putting it all on the line to try and earn the victory! For the majority of the fight, these two men decided to keep the fight standing, trading punches, kicks, and defensive abilities! Volkov, for some reason, decided to drop his hands at one point early in the first round and Skywalker wasted no time in tagging him with a savage right hook that dropped Volkov to one knee! Once this occurred, both men traded low and mid-range kicks with nice punching combinations mixed in, proof that both men know their craft very well. Skywalker took Volkov to the mat about the halfway point of the round but Volkov was able to defend well and took no real damage. Volkov settled in and found his range in the second round, nailing Skywalker with hard punches then eventually took him to the mat. Skywalker tried a submission but Volkov was having none of it and controlled the round. In the third round, Skywalker hit Volkov with a stiff right hand that sparked Volkov’s temper because he landed one uppercut that measured Skywalker then unleashed a furious uppercut that dropped Skywalker just a few seconds later! Skywalker tried to gather his senses but Volkov jumped on him and unloaded punches until the referee stopped it, giving Volkov the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY!

The other Welterweight battle pitted Vladimir Zenin (25-13-1) versus Bapit “The Cowboy” Pradchapet (28-18) of Legion of Pain! These two proud fight veterans tested one another mentally and physically, executing various aspects of game plans that didn’t really leave either man worn out. Both seemed to have a lot of energy after the fight and that may have frustrated both of them. Zenin opened the fight with a solid right hand to Pradchapet’s stomach that sent him back a few steps, but he gathered himself quickly! Zenin seemed to throw better punches then he moved in for the clinch. Once this happened, neither man really took or gave a lot of damage and that seemed to allow Pradchapet to get his bearings and settle down a bit. Zenin took the fight to the mat but again, neither man caused any serious damage and the referee stood them up not long afterward. In the second round, Pradchapet caught Zenin with a clean left hook that cut Zenin under above his right eye but that didn’t slow him down! Both men traded punches then Pradchapet was able to take Zenin to the mat. Zenin was able to outmaneuver Pradchapet and eventually got Pradchapet’s back, a potentially dangerous situation! Pradchapet took some damage but managed to get out of that predicament and tried a submission attempt, but Zenin was able to keep himself out of trouble! Zenin went back to his boxing game and opened the third round with a beautiful four punch combination that set the tone of the final round! Both men opted to keep the fight standing and the judges decided that Zenin was more effective and thus, they gave him the MAJORITY DECISION VICTORY!

The lone Middleweight fight featured Glenn Carson (22-11-1) of Legion of Doom versus “Insane” Barry Manilow (13-7)! Now I have to be honest here folks, well come to think of it, I’m always honest in my summary assessments so that was pointless to write, but regardless, this fight lasted much longer than I thought! When I saw the body language of these two fighters before the fight, I thought for sure Manilow wouldn’t last half a round because he simply didn’t look enthused about fighting Carson, so I give him credit for showing that he has a lot of heart! Carson came out pretty aggressively but Manilow managed to not only keep him at bay with good use of punches and kicks, but he also cut Carson’s jaw with a stiff left jab that caught Carson by surprise! I think the fans in attendance were equally surprised by the reactions I saw and heard. Manilow looked light on his feet and he displayed sound defensive techniques and footwork, using his skills to move in and out of range and even land some hard kicks while doing so! Around the halfway mark, Carson positioned himself for the takedown and got it, much to the dismay of Manilow because he knew he was in trouble right then and there! Carson worked his way to half guard after a bit of a struggle then moved to full guard. Once this happened, it was the beginning of the end! Carson opted to move back to half guard then caught Manilow by surprise with an arm triangle! Manilow held on as long as he could because his corner told him the round was almost over and they pleaded for him to hold on, but he just couldn’t take any more pain and he tapped out with one second left in the round! Manilow suffers a heartbreaking loss and Carson earns the SUBMISSION VICTORY!

The sole Light Heavyweight fight placed Bang McGee (27-18) and “The Bucket” Dantavious McJuckett (16-10-1) of Children of the Law of One in the cage across from one another! The battle of the “M Last Names” was fast and furious, but not like the movie because they didn’t have neon lights in the ring. I know, I know, that was bad but so what!? Both fighters came out swinging and kicking and traded some heavy shots to the body and to the legs in particular! This kept up for a little over a minute until, well, an unfortunate shot south of the border caught McGee in the nether regions and like any man being kicked where it counts, he immediately grimaced and clutched his crotch before falling to the mat! It was obvious that McJuckett felt very bad about the accidental low blow and the referee did a great job of protecting McGee! Much to McGee’s credit, he recovered quite quickly and both men showed great sportsmanship by touching gloves before continuing the fight. It seemed the remainder of the first round became a kicking contest because both men looked to land strong kicks to the opponent, and each man was successful in landing hard shots! McGee changed things up and caught McJuckett with a sweet one-two punching combination that absolutely rocked him while cutting him above his left eye! McJuckett was able to gather himself but McGee could sense that McJuckett was in trouble! In the second round, McGee just went for it! After knocking McJuckett down with a solid right hand, he allowed McJuckett to get back to his feet…only to knock him down again with a tremendous counter right hand that floored McJuckett! McGee pounced on him and the referee had no choice but to stop the fight, giving McGee the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY!

And finally, the last fight of the night in terms of weight class, the two bulls named Rumble Lord (16-12) and Piru Parka (25-19) of the STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – can I get a what, what!? – the purple-haired warrior, butted heads in the cage! As soon as the bell rang, Rumble Lord let everyone know his desire to take this fight to the mat! He went for two quick takedowns but Parka was having none of it…at that point in time! Parka made a questionable decision to clinch with Lord and I’m not certain why he took that course of action, but it proved to be his undoing in this fight! Parka nailed Lord with a stiff right hand and Lord retaliated by clasping his hands around Lord’s lower back and hauling him to the mat, immediately moving into side control! Parka knew he was in trouble as soon as he hit the mat as he looked to escape immediately! Lord went to work with a solid ground and pound approach that did just enough to Parka that allowed Lord to position himself and isolate Parka’s left arm! Parka looked a little too comfortable defending against the Kimura attempt and allowed Lord to gain better body position and really put pressure on the hold! Parka held on as best as he could but it was just too much to overcome and he tapped out, giving Lord the SUBMISSION VICTORY!

And there you have it ladies and gents, another summary written by yours truly and as customary, I thank you very kindly for taking the time to read this and share your insight with me. SPFT 127: Pre Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Greetings fight fans, I hope all of you are well and have prepared for yet another tremendous Steel Penn ICON Pay-per-View event! The action will be loud and proud in the Los Angeles Coliseum as twenty warriors step into the cage to prove their valor and their worth! Twenty eager, anxious and capable men will once again bring you mixed martial arts action that will not be soon forgotten!

Steel Penn ICON proudly presents SPFT 127, which will feature the following: ONE LIGHTWEIGHT, TWO WELTERWEIGHT FIGHTS, ONE OF THEM FOR THE WELTERWEIGHT TITLE, TWO MIDDLEWEIGHT, FOUR LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT AND ONE SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT! Without further ado, let’s get down to business!

Beginning as I always do with the gold on the line, Aaron Davidson (27-10-1) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – Steel Penn in the hoooouuuusseeee!! – and “The Barracuda” Dirk Zeldenthuis (31-10) of…wait a minute, he’s also a member of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE! – will battle it out for the right to be called the Welterweight Champion! Well hey now, I know the members of the Steel Penn Alliance are cool with each other and support one another, but having two members battle one another for a title!? Depending on what happens, this may prove to be awkward at Steel Penn Alliance member BBQ’s and such, but professionals know how to handle business so it’s all good! Davidson brings a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK with him into this title defense and all four victories have been either a Knockout or Technical Knockout! Zeldenthuis brings a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK with him, so both men are entering this title fight with momentum! Davidson has a distinct height advantage but I don’t think that will mean much to Zeldenthuis he has a lot of fight experience against various types of opponents! However, Davidson has proven himself to be an excellent all-around fighter so this will definitely be a title fight to watch!

Staying with the Welterweights, the other fight in this weight class is between “Indio” Simeon Malaya (21-8) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – can I get a what? what? – and “The Dragon” Don Wilson (16-8-1)! Malaya recently had a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED by…fellow Steel Penn Alliance member Dirk Zeldenthuis!? Now hold on a minute here! What’s with alliance members fighting one another!? I know they fought cleanly and respectfully, but alliance members normally don’t battle one another officially! Maybe when training one another sure, or at parties where things get kind of crazy, but that’s to be expected! Well be that as it may, Malaya will definitely look to get back on the winning side of business. Wilson enters the fight having had a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED by Timo Yo! Very much like Malaya, Wilson wants to get back into the winning groove of MMA life because no fighter wants to have a losing streak! Physically these fighters match up very well so this will boil down to strategy and execution of said game plan!

The sole Lightweight fight of the night features Frank “Razor” Rizzo Jr. (18-12-1) of Tycoon World Order battling against Mahandry Adriamboavonjy (15-13)! Rizzo Jr. enters this fight with a recent UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over Shelton Harrell! On a side note, if Rizzo Jr. wears the shirt he has on now, I think Mahandry may be distracted because wow, that young lady is something sexy! Adriamboavonjy – all right folks, I’m going to just call him by his first name because spelling out his last name feels like a college exam and I have been out of school far too long to make my brain work that hard! – also enters this fight with a UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over El Guapo, so both men are looking to extend their win streak to two! Mahandry is the taller and heavier fighter in this match and that may prove to be a difference maker because experience wise, both of these fighters have basically the same amount! I have a feeling that both men will want to end the fight so they won’t have to leave their fate in the judges’ hands!

The first of two Middleweight fights on the card placed Kush Goon (26-20) of The Exiled taking on “Mean Mugging” John Malham (22-16) of the FinnFighters in the cage! Goon – quite a fitting last name for a MMA fighter if you ask me – recently SNAPPED A FOUR FIGHT LOSING STREAK with a submission victory over Dan Gerous! Oh, I get it, Dan Gerous…dangerous…quite clever. Malham brings a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK into this fight so he will definitely prove to be an aggressive and more dangerous opponent for Goon! From what I have seen of any fighter with a three fight losing streak, they are very anxious to get things turned around and that can be both good and bad, depending upon the fighter and the circumstances involved! Either way, I expect this fight to be a tight one from beginning to end because both fighters bring a lot of experience. The outcome of this fight is absolutely up in the air because both fighters looked energetic and in good spirits when I saw them getting ready, so we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in this one!

The final Middleweight fight pits Abel “Amazin’”Speed (17-6-1) of The Exiled against Latka “ver. 2.0” Gravas (26-16-1) of Tycoon World Order! The purple-haired warrior from Kosovo should prove to be an interesting opponent for Speed because of his unique fighting style, plus should Gravas decide to wear the shirt he has on now, again, I think a fighter may be slightly distracted because the picture on the shirt deserves attention! Speed recently SNAPPED A FOUR FIGHT LOSING STREAK with a Technical Knockout victory over ZyD XV! ZyD XV, that sounds like a new virus or something! What the heck kind of name is that!? Gravas steps into the cage with a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK that he will definitely be looking to extend! Speed has a weight advantage in this confrontation but Gravas should be able to minimize that advantage because he has seen numerous types of opponents throughout his career. Speed has a better record on paper but Gravas’ experience is definitely a factor that can’t be overlooked in this fight!

The first of four Light Heavyweight fights gives us “God’s Spear” Ansgar Axelsson (18-4-1) of The Legion of Pain battling Somore “Tasty” Fudge (17-12-1)! This is a rather odd fight in terms of the names: “God’s Spear” attempting to prevent Fudge from having a taste…of victory! See what I did there? Not bad, huh? Oh leave me alone! I still have far too many South Park and Family Guy scenarios running through my head each time I see his “God’s Spear” nickname! Axelsson is on a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK while Fudge recently defeated Dantavious McJuckett by way of a TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT! Both men bring momentum into this fight and Fudge has a bit more of a fighting experience advantage. Will he be able to use that experience to his benefit? Fudge is slightly taller and has a definite weight advantage – undoubtedly from eating all that tasty fudge, yes? – so he may opt to keep the fight in close quarters as much as possible so he can press his weight against Axelsson and try to wear him down during the course of action!

The second Light Heavyweight fight is set between Moses Kealekapuna (24-8) of The Black Hand taking on Leonard Washington (22-11) of FinnFighters! I have to admit that I’m still a bit perplexed how an American born in Missouri is on a Finnish fight team, but hey, that’s what makes the world a beautiful place; the great diversity within it! The battle experience between these two is nearly identical so that factor does not weigh in either man’s favor as I see it, so it will boil down to preparation, what the focus of their respective training was, and fight planning! Moses is on a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK so he will very much want to halt that streak as soon as possible! Perhaps Moses will speak with “God’s Spear” to try and gain some divine advantage!? I don’t know folks, I’m just sayin’! Washington is on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK so very much like his opponent, he wants to get this win so he can stop the losing streak and feel good about fighting again! Physically there is no real distinct advantage either so perhaps the most influential key in this fight will be sheer guts!

The third Light Heavyweight battle places “The Holy Man” Jensen Saint (30-16) of The Consortium in the cage against “Sweet” Puppy Love (24-13) of The Hit Squad! Aw come on, what is this, a divine intervention!? Is Saint going to give a sermon and have “God’s Spear” and Moses assist him with the passages!? Maybe this is a sign that some holy cleansing needs to happen! I know I can use some…but that’s a different story and we’re not focusing on me here! The man from Vatican City recently defeated Nathan Corbett by way of a TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT while the Iranian warrior is on a FIVE FIGHT WIN STREAK! Wow, that’s some pretty freakin’ good lovin’ right there! I also must admit that I dig what Puppy Love is wearing, though I’m not sure how The Hit Squad feels about him donning clothes advertising THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE, but hey, that’s the way it goes! Saint will try his best to stop the good lovin’ that Puppy is on and Puppy will look to continue that good lovin’! I just made this fight sound like an ex-boyfriend is trying to stop an ex-girlfriend’s new boyfriend from having fun with her. Time will tell if Saint will have his prayers answered or if he will have to change his sermon during Sunday service!

The final Light Heavyweight fight features “The Bulldozer” Frank Martin (24-14) of Legion of Doom versus Jamie “Double Leg” Gillis (22-13) of…Legion of Doom! Here we go again with the inter-member alliance fighting! Do folks realize that this leads to weird quiet moments between any fighters who have stepped into the ring to fight against one another despite being in the same alliance? Man, I hope they’re cool with each other! Maybe they’ll get each other some candy for Halloween to maintain the peace between them. By the way, the nickname “Double Leg” definitely sounds like a B-rated adult movie character, but this is a family program and I won’t elaborate on that…but you catch my drift, don’t you? That’s what I thought! Martin recently LOST A SPLIT DECISION to Puppy Love – uh oh, I wonder if Martin will have some parting words for Love before and/or after his fight? – and Gillis is on a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Again, the fact that both men enter this fight on a losing streak supplies both men with even more incentive to get back into the win column! I believe the will to win determines the outcome of this because every other factor is basically even across the board!

And last but not least, the heavy hitters step into the cage, bringing the beast mode and brutality as only they can…the Super Heavyweights! Ernesto Oliveira (30-10) of The Goonies goes head-to-head against Chung Quela (19-8) of Knights of the Round Table! This is another shining example of the diversity I wrote about previously! A Chinese fighter is in an alliance named Knights of the Round Table! How cool is that!? I wonder if the members of that alliance all wear King Arthur-type clothing for Halloween? Oliveira had SIX FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Willy Stopper – an appropriate last name for what he just did to Oliveira! – and Oliveira is very anxious to get back on a big win streak like that again! Quela brings with him a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK in this fight, so his confidence is high, as it should be! Both fighters are exactly the same height, but Oliveira has a major weight advantage, outweighing Quela by a whopping eighty pounds!! Good lord man, Quala, what type of diet are you on!? Eat some food man! Maybe he should stick an I.V. into his veins and instead of medicine, it should be weight gain and leave that in his arm for a good month or so! Well, needless to say I think Oliveira will look to use his major weight advantage and sap Quela’s energy by clinching him, pressing him against the cage, or taking him to the mat and leaning his body weight on him while working for better control! Either way, this has the potential to be nasty and end quickly!

Well, there you have it ladies and gentlemen! As always I thank you for taking the time to read another of my summaries and I hope I have provided both insight and humor into my view of what is to transpire! Steel Penn ICON prides itself in providing services and products that far exceed industry standards! On a side note, I wish the Steel Penn Alliance fighters the best of luck and I hope everyone can be cool with one another after the fights because there’s no need for inner-Alliance drama! Take care, be well and see you at the fights!

SPFT 127 Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello good folks, I hope all of you are well and you had a great weekend! Steel Penn ICON provided another exciting weekend of Mixed Martial Arts fights and SPFT 127 is in the history books! Fans are talking, media outlets are buzzing, and the future is popping! So without further ado, let’s get down to business!

Ninety-thousand plus fans were witness to the following results: THREE UNANIMOUS DECISIONS, TWO TECHNICAL KNOCKOUTS, TWO KNOCKOUTS TWO SUBMISSIONS…AND A NO CONTEST! A No Contest!? Really!? In this day and age of technology and travel, one of the fighters couldn’t make it to the arena on time!? I know it’s Los Angeles and traffic is mad crazy often, but come on man! Take the subway and walk, or hitchhike…or something! That’s a damn shame! Well, that’s enough of that subject, so let me move on to the results!

Beginning with the Welterweight title, “The Barracuda” Dirk Zeldenthuis (32-10) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE and Aaron Davidson (27-11-1), also of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – and believe me folks, I was a little uncomfortable watching this fight because, after all, I too am a member of The Steel Penn Alliance and never like to see Alliance members fight each other, with the exception of them battling it out on UFC Undisputed 3 or helping to train each other in the gym. I wonder if EA Sports UFC will be any good… – fought an intense battle! Both men were basically equally fatigued after this one and that comes as no surprise! The action began with both men trading strikes as well as maneuvering into better positioning, and Davidson was the busier fighter. Zeldenthuis took the fight to the mat around the one minute mark and kept the action there until the referee stood them up around the four minute mark. Zeldenthuis was able to land some hard shots here and there but in general, he had a difficult time getting through Davidson’s defenses! Near the end of the round, Zeldenthuis scored another crucial takedown to score precious points! Davidson was able to keep the fight standing up and was more effective there, getting a few good shots in on Zeldenthuis but Zeldenthuis was able to avoid any serious damage! Davidson took advantage though and was able to land some nice, effective shots on Zeldenthuis and scored vital points. Zeldenthuis took him to the mat again near the end of the round, but it seemed that the judges gave Davidson the advantage. The third, fourth and fifth rounds, Zeldenthuis was able to impose his will, along with his wrestling skill, and continually took the fight to the mat and displayed his ability to control the action! Neither fighter suffered any major damage but Zeldenthuis did enough to not only earn the Unanimous Decision victory, but he became the NEW WELTERWEIGHT CHAMPION! Zeldenthuis has now won THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW while Davidson has to begin a new winning streak!

The other Welterweight fight on the card took place between “The Dragon” Don Wilson (16-8-1) and “Indio” Simeon Malaya (21-8) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE! Oh wait a minute, that’s right, no it didn’t because for whatever reason, Malaya didn’t make it to the arena on time to fight! What’s even worse is Malaya is a member of the same Alliance as I! Aw man, now I know we’re going to have to give him crap because Steel Penn definitely has the ability to get people to their proper arenas on time for fights! Wilson’s next opponent is Vladimir Zenin and I really hope Zenin is able to find the arena properly!

The lone Lightweight fight on the card went down between Frank “Razor” Rizzo Jr. (19-12-1) of Tycoon World Order and Mahandry Andriamboavonjy (15-14)! It seems my prediction about Rizzo Jr.’s shirt being a distraction was true, because Rizzo seemed to have an upper hand in this fight as the fight wore on! He came out with a lot of energy in the first round but Mahandry – his last name is just too long to continually type so I’ll use his first name. I hope that’s all right with him because I mean no disrespect, I just don’t want to mess up his unique last name – settled in faster and displayed very sound defensive techniques as well as smooth delivery of punches. Rizzo Jr. settled in soon afterwards and also showed technical defensive abilities. Mahandry opted to stop the standup action and take the fight to the mat, which he did successfully around the two minute mark of the round! However, Mahandry had to deal with an explosion of submission attempts by Rizzo Jr. and this not only occupied Mahandry, but it prevented him from doing any major damage! Mahandry opened the second round with a quick takedown but soon after, the referee stood both men up. The two warriors opted to continue their back-and-forth standup battle until Mahandry again took the fight to the ground around the three minute mark of the round! Mahandry went for a submission finish but Rizzo Jr. had it well scouted and defended! Moving into the last round, I think Rizzo Jr. realized he needed to stop the fight if he was going to win and he did exactly that! Rizzo Jr. used his excellent footwork to stay away from takedown attempts and landed a harmless looking left jab…that wound up damaging Mahandry! Credit goes to Mahandry for a quick recovery but Rizzo Jr. sensed that Mahandry was in trouble and went for it! A hard right hand stunned Mahandry and Rizzo Jr. baited him by dropping his hands and shaking them out! Mahandry, still dazed, lost focus for a moment and a vicious right hook from Rizzo Jr. dropped Mahandry! Rizzo Jr. earned the KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Rizzo Jr. has WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and Mahandry has to begin a new quest for a winning streak!

The first of two Middleweight fights placed Kush Goon (27-20) of The Exiled across the cage from “Mean Mugging” John Malham (22-17) of FinnFighters! Unfortunately for Malham, his mean mugging face didn’t distract Goon whatsoever and Goon showed Malham that he was on top of his game! Malham started off very well with a brutal overhand right that sounded nasty and later cut Goon with a solid right head kick! Both fighters traded shots as well as showed their very good training as defense was the name of the game! Goon landed a hard left jab to Malham’s body that made him stumble briefly but he recovered quickly! More shots were traded until Malham decided to take the fight to the ground! Both fighters seemed to stall once the fight went to the ground and that proved to be the error Goon needed! Malham got a little too relaxed and Goon locked in a very tight Guillotine! Malham fought it as best as he could but he had to relinquish and tap out, giving Goon the SUBMISSION VICTORY! Goon has WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW while Malham’s LOSING STREAK REACHES FOUR!

The last of the Middleweight fights featured the purple-haired Mohawk of Latka “ver. 2.0” Gravas (27-16-1) of Tycoon World Order against Abel “Amazin” Speed (17-7-1) of The Exiled! Again, I’m sticking to my theory that Gravas’ shirt was distracting to Speed because wow, that’s one fine young lady on that shirt! Both fighters were a bit tentative in the early portion of the opening round, with neither of them being able to land any solid shots or takedowns! Perhaps they were too cautious or simply trying to play possum and bait the other fighter into making a mistake! Speed’s endurance seemed to wane a bit and that affected his punching power as he did manage to land some shots sporadically, but Gravas didn’t show any signs of them having an effect! Gravas began to unload his kicking ability and that proved effective at keeping Speed at a distance. Gravas has WON THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW and Speed will look to quickly turn things around and get back on the winning side! See what I did there? Speed; quickly…oh never mind!

Moving onto the Light Heavyweight bonanza of four fights, the first one placed “God’s Spear” Ansgar Axelsson (19-4-1) of Legion of Pain in the cage against Somore “Tasty” Fudge (17-13-1) of Evolution Fight Clan! Fudge seemed to have trouble gauging the distance between he and Axelsson and wasn’t able to land any effective shots very early in the round. This allowed Axelsson to take advantage of the situation, move in for the clinch, and not only score points but also cause damage to Fudge! Fudge was able to get some shots in but they didn’t do enough damage to discourage Axelsson’s attack! Axelsson opted to break the clinch then went to work with strong leg kicks that definitely slowed Fudge! Ge He then moved back in for a clinch but wasn’t quite as effective at landing any shots, credit going to Fudge for having good defensive techniques! However, Axelsson controlled the action in the judge’s eyes plus he wore down Fudge. Going into the second round, everyone could see Axelsson’s corner being very animated and telling him to step up the pace! He did exactly that as he first moved into a clinch to slow Fudge a bit more and position him in the cage where he wanted him! Fudge protected himself well with the exception of one solid right hand and that punch rocked Fudge badly! Axelsson followed that with a stunning left hand that dropped Fudge to the mat! Axelsson began the ground and pound and the ref had to stop the fight, giving the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY to Axelsson! “God’s Spear” was able to puncture Fudge enough to win the fight! Yes, I know that sounds bad but yes, that’s what went down! Axelsson has WON FOUR FIGHTS IN A ROW while Fudge has to begin a new win streak once again!

The second Light Heavyweight contest featured Leonard Washington (23-11) of FinnFighters versus Moses Kealekapuna (24-9) of The Black Hand! The fight began pretty evenly with neither man really able to take advantage of an early clinch that Moses – I’ll just go with his first name because his last name is somewhat lengthy and Moses is easier to go with – initiated! Washington made it apparent that he wanted to test Moses’ endurance by going to his body early and the strategy paid dividends, though Moses showed his defensive capability and foot movement with very nice techniques. As the first round progressed, Washington’s excellent boxing technique began to show and he nailed some hard shots on Moses, especially on his face, and the lack of head movement by Moses, who is typically very good at that, showed the effects of the body punches and kicks he absorbed from Washington! Washington came out more determined in the second round, and less than one minute in, Washington connected with a heavy right cross that rocked Moses! Moses was able to gather himself very quickly so I give credit where it’s due! Washington was able to take the fight to the ground and once this occurred, Moses actually had the upper hand for a brief moment but wasn’t able to do any serious damage to Washington! This allowed Washington to work his way into a beautiful sweeping reversal of a full mount and he gained the full mount! He then rained strong blows down on Moses, and a nasty left elbow dazed Moses! Washington then unloaded a few more bombs and the referee had to stop the action, granting the KNOCKOUT VICTORY to Washington! With this victory, Washington SNAPS A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK! With that loss, Kealekapuna has now LOST FOUR FIGHTS IN A ROW!

The third Light Heavyweight fight brought us “Sweet” Puppy Love (25-13) of The Hit Squad versus “The Holy Man” Jensen Saint (30-17) of The Consortium! Saint immediately went for, and landed, the takedown on Puppy Love but this proved to be costly! Saint tried to keep the slight momentum advantage and place Love into an arm triangle, but Love was too well prepared and was able to defend the attempt! Love was able to maneuver out of Saint’s grasp and take his back, a beautiful transition and the beginning of the end for Saint! Love tried to lock in a Rear Naked Choke but Saint’s defense was too strong for that, so Love opted to soften Saint up a bit with well-placed punches to the ribs and head! Love tried a tighter Rear Naked Choke attempt and this time it paid off, forcing Saint to tap after he did what he could to stop it! Love earns the SUBMISSION VICTORY and Puppy Love has now WON SIX FIGHTS IN A ROW! Saint finds himself BACK IN THE LOSS COLUMN and will look to turn that around as soon as possible! I must say it was a tough night for the “Holy Triad” overall. “God’s Spear” did just fine, but Moses “The Messenger”, and “The Holy Man” didn’t fare so well! Perhaps the divine weapon was ready for war but the other two devout fighters weren’t able to deliver the sermon!? I don’t know, you tell me! I just call them as I see them!

The final Light Heavyweight fight placed Jamie “Double Leg” Gillis (23-13) of Legion of Doom against “The Bulldozer” Frank Martin 24-15), also of Legion of Doom! Oh man, the next party that Legion of Doom hosts may prove to be a little tense if and when these two are in the same room again! This fight immediately went to the ground and needless to say, Martin was a man possessed in trying to place Gillis into a submission hold! He tried repeatedly from various angles to lock in any submission he could but Gillis’ defense and wrestling ability proved to be too good and halted the attempts in their tracks! Gillis was able to gain better side control of Martin and he nailed Martin with hard punches, forearms and elbows that took their toll! Martin is a tough customer and took the shots well without getting hurt badly, but he did absorb damage. Round 2 proved to be more of the same overall, but first there was a brief clinch that didn’t do much for either fighter, but Martin was able to cut Gillis over his left eyebrow with a sharp right hook that Gillis didn’t see coming! Gillis opted to take the fight to the ground after that and Martin again attempted several submission finishes that Gillis was able to successfully defend! Gillis even tried a brief submission attempt but he saw that he couldn’t lock it in so he chose to strike and control the action instead. The final round was more of a standup affair as both fighters could sense that trying to finish on the ground just wasn’t going to happen! After three minutes of back-and-forth action, with neither fighter really gaining an upper hand, Gillis wisely took the fight to the mat again and controlled the action! He attempted an Arm Triangle but Martin’s defense and endurance were too solid at that point for any hope of success, so Gillis focused on control until the end of the fight! He did exactly that and earned the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY! Gillis SNAPS A THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK with this victory while Martin has now LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW!

The final fight of the evening featured the big boys, the man-beasts, the consumers of large quantities…the Super Heavyweights! Ernesto Oliveira (31-10) of The Goonies and Chung Quela (19-9) of Knights of the Round Table were our two heavy hitters of the night and they didn’t disappoint! I have to give a ton of credit to Quela in this one because he was outweighed by eighty pounds, or thirty-six kilograms for my European fight fans! In fact, Quela managed to land a solid right head kick that cut Oliveira above his left eye that surprised everyone, especially Oliveira! Oliveira settled in and allowed his defensive ability to keep him from sustaining any further damage, checking kicks and dodging or blocking punches very nicely. Oliveira looked to use his weight advantage and pressed Quela agains the cage in a clinch, but Quela fought fiercely and kept Oliveira from taking full advantage by landing various punches! Quela even reversed the position and was definitely the busier, more effective fighter! Moving into the second round, Quela’s corner told him to target the cut to slow the big man and Quela did as he was told! Oliveira once again looked to use his weight advantage in the clinch and Quela nailed a beautifully-placed left shoulder right onto the cut, opening it even further! The cut seemed to bother Oliveira because he was missing punches he normally hits with ease, plus Quela was displaying excellent clinch techniques, especially against a much heavier opponent! Oliveira won the judges over by controlling the action in the clinch though the audience was a bit frustrated by the lack of action in terms of damage being done. Both men are highly skilled in defense and both relied upon their training to prevent a lot of damage. In the final round, Oliveira was able to slow the pace and he even cut Quela above his right eye with a short, stiff left hand! Aside from that, neither fighter really did much to the other, but the judges saw that Oliveira controlled the action and thus, they gave him the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY! Oliveira is back in the win column with this victory while Quela has a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED! Quela is so disappointed by the outcome that he asked for a rematch with Oliveira and it was granted, so these two behemoths will once again lock horns on October 30, otherwise known as Devil’s Night!

SPFT 128: Pre-Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Greetings ladies and gentlemen, I hope all of you are well and ready for another exciting Steel Penn ICON event that will bring to you a night of action that will be discussed for a long time! There are some big names on this card and no fan of Mixed Martial Arts will be disappointed by the lineup!

Scheduled for SPFT 128 is the following: THREE FEATHERWEIGHT, THREE WELTERWEIGHT, ONE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT AND THREE SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTS! There’s a lot to discuss so as always, let’s get down to business!

The first of three Featherweight fights places Will “The Beast” Banks (27-18-1) of Legion of Pain across the cage from Genki Dama (26-13) of ACME – St. Petersburg! Banks enters this fight with a recent Unanimous Decision victory over Braden Turk while Dama brings a recent Submission Victory over Corey Haim – no, not the famous actor! – so both men will look to continue building their recent victory momentum. Both fighters have a lot of in-ring experience so this may prove to be a difficult matchup for the both of them as neither of them can bring anything to the fight that the other hasn’t seen before! Banks has quite a height advantage so he may be looking to keep this fight on its feet and at a distance where he can use his longer arms to keep Dama at bay while scoring points and punching damage. Dama may opt to try and get in close to Banks so he can use his potential strength advantage to try and take this battle to the ground. Either way, the fighter who is able to execute their game plan better will more than likely be the winner of this battle! However, I will say if Banks wears the shirt he has on now, that may very well distract Dama because it sure distracts me!

The second Featherweight battle features “The Wizard” Xavier Cid (24-9) of Children of the Law of One versus “13” Zica Brava (21-9-1) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE! This match will be especially difficult for me because I’ll be a nervous nanny due to me being the new manager for Brava! I approached him during his free agency and after a long discussion, he invested his trust and faith in me and trust me folks, for me that’s a big deal because he’s a very accomplished fighter! My management team and I will do our best with him and I have tremendous respect for Cid and his accomplishments! I know this will be a tough fight and I don’t know if I’ll be able to keep calm while the fight unfolds! Cid has a slight height advantage but both combatants have enough experience to know what to do against the other. Determination, in my opinion, will win this fight and I’ll be sure to get Brava to the arena on time because the last thing I want to see is a no contest! Cid steps into the cage with a recent UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over Timmy Smithy while Brava steps into the cage with a recent SUBMISSION LOSS to Eriku Landstrimma.

The last Featherweight fight gives us “Redz” Romano Schoots (25-19) battling Haiki Masatupo (26-26)! This is a rare fight in terms of neither fighter being associated with an alliance, or at least it’s rare for me to see. Both warriors have plenty of fight experience under their belts so once again, I believe the fight plan will be vital to either fighter’s success. Physically these fighters match up very well so there’s no true physical advantage to be had unless one of these fighters comes into the fight out of shape, which I highly doubt. Schoots steps into the cage with a recent UNANIMOUS DECISION LOSS to Kim Figueroa! Masatupo also brings a loss to this fight, a recent KO by Inge Grepp! Both men will battle to get back into the winning column and also feel much better about their recent struggles! I wonder if Haiki will continue to wear the standard gear that’s given to all fighters when they enter MMATycoon.com, or will his manager opt to go shopping for some newer and uh, better smelling…clothes? I’m just sayin’!

The first of three Welterweight fights places “Donkey Style AKA Badonk-a Don Key (26-7-2) of The Broken Halo Pride versus Vincent “The Wolf” Volkov (33-18-1) of Hellraiser Inc! I wonder if Don Key is a fan of the movie Shrek? Or I wonder if kids use Michael Myer’s British accent to say his name? Both fighters are sound veterans of the octagon so this may boil down to using physical advantages. Both men are the same height and “The Wolf” has a slight weight advantage, but I’m not sure he’ll be able to use it to sway the battle that far in his favor, if at all! I’m not sure what’s happening with Volkov’s management team, but I’ve been told that he has neither had a new pair of clothes in some time plus he’s currently not even training at a gym!? Come on man, get it together and talk to your management team! Fighters either fight, train, or recover from fighting and training! Don Key is coming off a recent KO VICTORY over Mark Two! Volkov has a recent TKO VICTORY over Luke Skywalker! Don Key is currently wearing a pretty snazzy Los Angeles shirt and shorts so I wonder if that’s what he’ll go with in this fight.

The next Welterweight battle brings us Newbomb Turk (17-8) of The Fighter’s Pit!!! against “1 8 1” Kenji Okabe (30-15) of The Consortium! I still don’t know what “1 8 1” means so I’ll have to try and ask Okabe about that one of these days. These fighters are nearly identical in height and weight so no physical advantage is to be had in my opinion. Okabe is four years younger, if that makes any difference, and does have a bit more fighting experience, so he may be able to use some tricks of the trade to gain an advantage over Turk! Turk has many Knockout and Technical Knockout wins so he may look to finish this fight as fast as possible! Okabe has quite a few Unanimous Decision victories so he’ll be comfortable taking this fight the distance, I’m sure. Turk recently SNAPPED A THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK with a TKO VICTORY over Nathan Summers! Okabe steps into the cage on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! Turk is wearing a pretty wild matching pair of shorts and shirt, so I wonder if he’ll wear something similar in this fight because that could be distracting to Okabe! Those are some bright colors!

The last Welterweight contest is between Robin Padilla (16-11) and Julio Driggs (22-13) of illumiNaughty! IllumiNaughty…I dig it, that’s quite clever! Driggs has a height advantage but Padilla has a weight advantage, so it remains to be seen if either man attempts to rely on either of these factors, or they opt to rely strictly on skill and ability! Like many of the other fights, there’s no clear cut advantage in terms of fighting experience, which makes this a difficult fight for both men. Pride will definitely come into play because neither man wants to return to the loss column after recently halting losing streaks with impressive victories! Padilla SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK by winning a Unanimous Decision over Xavier David! Driggs also SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK by Knocking Out Gabriel Kiptanui! Now I’m a huge Bruce Lee fan so I like the shirt Driggs is wearing. If he wants to wear The Dragon to the ring, I’m all for it because you just can’t go wrong with The Master Bruce Lee!

The sole Light Heavyweight conflict features Nathan “Carnage” Corbett (17-9-1) versus “AJ” Anthony Joseph (20-16) of ACME – St. Petersburg! Physically speaking, Corbett is a bit taller than Joseph but Joseph is a bit heavier, so in a manner of speaking, they are physicall even. Joseph does have a bit of an edge in terms of fight experience, but it seems Corbett has had enough battles to know his way around the cage against a wily veteran such as Corbett. Corbett is very well skilled in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and may be looking to take the fight to the ground for a submission victory! However, Joseph has a proven track record of having strong punches and kicks, so should Joseph decide to try and take him to the mat, he must be wary of absorbing strikes while trying to do so! Joseph also has very sound wrestling abilities and should be able to prevent any major damage on the ground, but the same can be said of Corbett’s standup defense! Corbett steps into the cage having suffered a RECENT TKO LOSS to Jensen Saint! Joseph enters the fight having had a RECENT TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Cristiano Nascimento by way of a first round Knockout!

Moving onto the massive bodies, the large beasts, the big boys…the Super Heavyweights, the first of three of these fights places “Torpedo” Tore Rebo (26-13) of Polish Eagles’ Nest across the cage from Jefferson Davis “Boss” Hogg (20-10) of Legion of Pain! Rebo has quite a height advantage in this fight but Hogg weighs a good amount more so this may be a back-and-forth fight! I believe both of these massive men will stand toe-to-toe and test one another’s chins, defensive techniques and all-around toughness! Both men have proven time and again that they possess the strength and ability to knock out anyone so this promises to be one brutal clash! Rebo is currently on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK, and I can appreciate the fact that he has his own clothing and I’d expect him to wear exactly that in this fight! Hogg is likewise on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK so both men will be looking to extend their streak to three while stopping the opponent’s momentum by making them lose his streak!

The second battle of the big heavies is Christiano “The Divine Huevo” (16-5) Smokeleaf of GRABTHE.INFO! taking on Teijo Tarzan (24-14) of VC-13! Smokeleaf has a good-sized height advantage in this fight, but Tarzan, built like a wrecking ball, or an offensive lineman in the NFL, has a distinct weight advantage! It’s possible that Smokeleaf will opt to try and keep the fight standing up at keep himself at a distance, using his very good boxing skills to keep Tarzan at bay! Tarzan, on the other hand, may try to get in close and put pressure on Smokeleaf, figuratively and literally, by smothering him with his weight and clinching him so Smokeleaf has to endure holding up his weight while trying to defend himself! The fight plan for this one will be very interesting because Smokeleaf may opt to try and sap the wind out of Tarzan with body strikes! Smokeleaf steps into this fight on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK and a very interesting shirt, should he decide to wear what he has on currently or a new one for the fight! Tarzan recently SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK with a Technical Knockout victory over Marc Andre! Tarzan apparently likes Stonewall so maybe he’ll sport their clothes when he steps into the cage for this duel!

The third Super Heavyweight and final conflict of the night places Umberto “Golden Machete” Duran ((22-17-1) of Legion of Doom across the cage from Sergei “Bam-Bam” Bautin (24-16) of Tycoon Alliance! By the way, I definitely will go see the latest “Machete” movie because those are just crazy funny with wild action! Danny Trejo was born to be that character! Bautin has quite a height advantage in this fight so Duran will have to be on guard for the reach advantage Bautin has for this fight! Bautin is also heavier, though not by much, but this may prove to be a difference maker if the fight stays on its fight, which I predict it will, though Bautin has had a few victories by way of submission as well! Duran definitely prefers to punish his opponents and knock them out so he’ll look to drop some heavy hits on Bautin for certain! The fight experience both of these men have will make this fight very interesting to watch! Duran steps into this fight having SUFFERED A RECENT TKO LOSS to Joe Biggs! I wonder if Duran will wear his own clothing line as well because, as I mentioned previously, I dig fighters who wear their own clothing line. That, to me, shows confidence and style, even if they don’t win the fight, but that’s just my opinion. Bautin recently SNAPPED A THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK by defeating Elroy Kleinschmidt by Technical Knockout, which earned him Fight of the Night honors as well!

All right good people, that’s my time and this is the conclusion of my summary! As always I thank you for joining me and taking the time to read my insight about this weekend’s approaching event! Be sure to stay tuned for the Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by yours truly and depending on how Zica does in his fight, I’ll either be even more uplifted or a bit disappointed. Either way, I look forward to seeing how he does, as well as the other great fighters on this card! Steel Penn ICON is proud to bring you such historic events and will continue to do so, as well as continue their dedicated investment in research and improvement of nutrition and health products, as well as business ventures. Take care, be well, and enjoy the fights!

Got it published! Steel Penn ICON Fight Night 5 Event Preview: SP FN 5:

Steel Penn FN - ICON

2013-10-12, Amsterdam, The Beer Garden

Author:Scooby Jr

Steel Penn ICON, destined to soon be number one org in Amsterdam has put yet again another great card of fights set to take place in The Beer Garden On October 12th.

It was a great turnout at SP FN 4 where up and coming Robeldo Puch scored a TKO by way of strikes improving his record to (6-0) over pat doyle who unfortunately started his Tycoon debut in a loss. Our Co-Main title bout between Timofey Boyko and Ben Russel ended “KO of the night fashion” in the last minute of the third round in similar fashion as Russel was rocked and bloodied leaving the match with a plastic surgeon providing him a list of discounts he offers along with Kosti Lom who was cut by Liljedahl so badly the referee Derb Hean had to stop the fight in the FIRST round! Alvaro Ibanez Santos registered the submission of the night and we all need to beg Thunder to give us another dose of Winston McCall and Hannibal Butrovic which happened to be the fight of the night ending in a McCall majority decision victory.

The Crusher Kawajiri will head our co-main event against Bartek Pietrzak in a much anticipated brawl in which 25 wins and only 6 losses total describe these two fighters. The Dynamic Fighting Championship 145 and 155lb title holder will try to right his ship after losing a 5 round split decision bout with alberto lopez in a close fight that couldve went either way. He rode a 9 fight win streak before losing this fight and has shown he can both knock out his opponents or submit them. Its tough to gameplan for an all around fighter of this caliber but Kawajiri doesnt care about that. He is an excellent wrestler who has maximized his craft by finding a way to sneak in submission finishes wherever he can and has developed a nice striking/boxing skill to keep him adequate in stand up situations. This fight will come down to distance, if Pietrzak can keep the distance and land his hard strikes and kicks, he may dominate this fight. Likewise, if Kawajiri can close the distance or get the fight to the ground, he likely can finish this fight.

Wolwerine Tyler, our 145lb title holder makes for an interesting fight with Mr Miyagi in which Tyler has never won a fight by KO and Miyagi is certainly not esteemed by his striking. Tyler is a red belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu and is probably the best submission finish fighter ICON will see in a very long time. All but 3 of his fights were won by submission. Tyler holds a major advantage on the ground and Mr Miyagi definitely doesnt want to let the fight get there. Miyagi will seemingly have to look for opportunities to land high kicks and score points defending takedowns and landing strikes although he isnt much of a boxer. He has shown exceptional defense his entire career as he has 20 of his 26 victories by decision, and he will look to display his skills here in hopes of notching another one. We cant wait to see what type of action this main event has in store for us.

I cant wait for this excellent card of fights, check back for the results and enjoy!

SPFT 128: Post-Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Greetings fight fans and welcome to another Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by your man on the scene, Furious Styles! I appreciate you taking the time to join me in reviewing what went down at yet another fantastic and enthralling Steel Penn ICON mixed martial arts event!

Another ninety-thousand plus crazies were on hand to witness the events unfold at SPFT 128! We saw yet another night filled with pain, suffering, blood, joy and achievement, the way all events should be! At the end of the night, the overall results were as follows: FOUR UNANIMOUS DECISIONS, THREE TECHNICAL KNOCKOUTS, AND THREE KNOCKOUTS! To research further exactly what transpired, let’s get down to business!

The first of three Featherweight fights took place between Genki Dama (27-13) of ACME – St. Petersburg and Will Banks (27-19-1) of The Legion of Pain! I was under the impression that Banks’ shirt would be a distraction to Dama, because it certainly distracted me and many other men in the audience from what I could tell, but Dama was locked in and focused on this fight! Dama chose to don some rather formal wear for this fight, which is highly unusual for a MMA battle, but hey, it worked so who am I to knock it!? Dama wanted to take this fight to the mat early and after a couple of stuffed attempts, Banks obliged him and took the fight to the mat, but he was the one in control, not Dama! Banks tried to unload bombs in the ground and pound game but Dama’s defense was far too solid to allow that to happen! Banks was able to land a couple of strikes but in general, both men struggled to gain any dominant position. Dama surprised Banks a bit with a quick submission attempt but Banks was able to avoid it easily. Dama was able to reverse and take control of the positioning on the ground. However, no serious damage was done by either fighter. The second round was far more standup oriented and we saw great offensive and defensive techniques by both men as they attempted to land hard strikes and combinations! Near the end of the round, Dama opted to place Banks in a clinch but again, no real damage was done by either man. Early in the third round, both men continued to gauge the distance and try to land effective shots. Banks landed a nice three-punch combo that Dama acknowledged. However, Dama later took the fight to the mat again with a fantastic double leg takedown off of a counter attack! Both men did their best to land both damaging and accurate strikes but it proved to be rather difficult! Dama attempted two submissions that were denied, but the judges deemed that Dama was the more aggressive fighter, thus awarding him the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY! Dama is now on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK while Banks has to begin a new winning streak! Banks’ next opponent is Haiki Masatupo.

The second Featherweight fight had me on edge the entire three rounds! As previously mentioned, my management team and I have taken on the responsibility of training and managing Mr. Zica Brava. It was very difficult to watch this fight but needless to say, I’m pleased with the results, especially against a fighter of Xavier Cid’s level! “13” Zica Brava (22-9-1) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE stepped into a war against “The Wizard” Xavier Cid (24-10) of Children of the Law of One! Both warriors opted to keep this fight a toe-to-toe, up close and personal fight, and both men showed excellent ability to not only dish punishment, but also take it as well! Brava kept the fight in close quarters with lots of clinching. Both men showed their Muay Thai skills by trading strikes but even more impressive, showing tremendous head and body movement to avoid damage from the other fighter! I will say that each and every knee that Cid hit Brava with, I cringed! Cid has fantastic knee strikes and believe me when I say Brava is still sore from them! Brava was able to land various body shots and some shoulder strikes as well, but Cid equally did some damage to the body and used shoulder strikes effectively! The energy level in this fight was high for the most part and it’s apparent that both combatants are in excellent physical condition! There was a point in the fight where I thought Cid was going to push towards a knockout attempt because he landed a couple of really brutal knee shots to Brava’s head! Brava hung in there and he landed some strong shots to Cid’s body, slowing him down just enough to maintain the clinch effectively. Brava did enough in the judges eyes to win the battle by way of UNANIMOUS DECISION! Brava is back in the win column with this victory while Cid will focus on returning to the win column! Zica has a fight under offer at the moment and Cid’s next opponent is Marty Laguna.

The final Featherweight fight of the evening was “Redz” Romano Schoots (26-19) doing battle against Haiki Masatupo (26-27)! Before this fight, I studied Masatupo and he just didn’t look like a motivated fighter, which can be quite dangerous in this profession! He just had the look of a man who didn’t prepare himself for a fight, and I was right because Schoots only needed one round to end this one! Masatupo went to the clinch very early in the fight and attempted to take the fight to the mat immediately, but Schoots is too well schooled in defense plus is very strong, so Masatupo was denied this hope! Schoots worked his way out of the clinch and kept the fight at a distance, working to his advantage. Schoots seemed a bit sloppy with his offensive techniques and at one point, he threw a lazy leg kick that was beautifully countered by Masatupo with a flying knee! That seemed to wake Schoots up, however, as he settled in and began pinpoint strikes on Masatupo! He kept working this way until he saw the opening he was looking for! Schoots unloaded a furious right uppercut that rocked Masatupo big time! Schoots tried to hit a big shot but Masatupo recovered very nicely, got his senses and displayed great recovery defense! Schoots was having absolutely no luck with his punches so he loaded up and planted a brutal right head kick on Masatupo and Masatupo tried to keep his balance, but eventually stumbled around like a happy drunk on Las Vegas Boulevard, face planted, and this one was all over! Schoots picked up the KNOCKOUT VICTORY and had to chuckle at what he saw! Schoots earns his way back into winning ways and his next opponent is Grimly Fiendish! Masatupo has now LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW! Masatupo’s next opponent is Will Banks.

Moving on to the Welterweight division, the first of three contests placed “Donkey Style AKA Badonk-a” Don Key (27-7-2) of The Broken Halo Pride and Vincent “The Wolf” Volkov (33-19-1) of Hellraiser Inc. in the cage across from one another! The fight began with both men trying to maintain the proper distance to unleash solid kicks, and solid kicks were indeed traded until Volkov took the fight to the ground after absorbing a hard right hand to his liver area after developing a bit of a rhythm with his punches! Key was able to avoid any serious damage but Volkov was effectively scoring points. The referee wanted a bit more action, didn’t get it, so he stood the men up. Key found his own rhythm at that point and began landing well-placed strikes! Key then moved into a clinch and did some damage with solid knee shots, but Volkov took them well and kept fighting! In round two, both fighters opted to trade punches and kicks again for a while until Key chose to press Volkov against the cage in a clinch! Key focused heavily on Volkov’s body, wearing him down with punches and knees to the stomach and ribs. He then surprised Volkov and landed a brutal left knee to Volkov’s face! Volkov, realizing Key was scoring points and damage with his knee strikes, pulled guard and took the fight to the mat! Key was able to land sporadic ground and pound, but for the most part, neither man was able to take any real advantage while the fight was on the mat. The referee stood them up after a while and Volkov took the fight back to the ground soon thereafter. Near the end of the round, Key attempted a submission but he couldn’t lock it in efficiently, but did score a lot of points on the judges cards! Early in the third round, Volkov cut Key above his right eye with a solid right uppercut and that seemed to open the door for Volkov! His activity level picked up quite a bit and after Key locked him in a clinch, his energy level depleted rather quickly and Key saw this. He began to unleash his very effective knee strikes and boom, a huge left knee right up the middle dropped Volkov! Key followed that with a stiff right uppercut that dropped Volkov! Key moved in and unleashed the strikes until the referee stopped the fight to award Key with the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Key has now WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and he proudly represents his Los Angeles outfit! His next opponent will be Kenji Okabe. Volkov has his RECENT VICTORY SNAPPED, but his next opponent is Luke Skywalker, a man he fought recently during SPFT 126.

The second Welterweight fight featured “1 8 1” Kenji Okabe (31-15) of The Consortium versus Newbomb Turk (17-9)! Early on, both fighters opted to trade strikes to see how the opponent reacted and it was basically even all around. Okabe decided to take the fight to the mat after slipping a right hand from Turk and initially, both men struggled to gain an advantage, but Okabe worked hard and was able to gain the full mount! Once he did this, he began to let loose with hammerfists that were effective and did some damage, particularly a big right elbow strike then a flurry of punches to Turk’s head and body! Turk was able to gather his senses and prevent any further major damage, but he was definitely stunned and lost the round! In the second round, both men again opted for the standup game initially, and Okabe settled in, found his range, and began to show his skills with his hands and feet! Near the end of the round, Okabe again decided to take the fight to the ground and Turk wasn’t able to stop the takedown. Okabe was able to land a few strong strikes and again, scored good points on the judges’ cards! In the final round, Turk, looked to slow Okabe with some strong kicks, but after absorbing a few strong kicks from Turk, Okabe again took the fight to the mat! Okabe again worked his way to full guard and once he did, Turk again took some punishing fists and elbows! Okabe sensed that he could finish the fight if he applied more pressure and that’s exactly what he did! With about one minute left, he went for it all and after Turk took a couple of really hard shots, he went limp and the referee stopped the right, rewarding Okabe with the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Okabe has now WON THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW while unfortunately for Turk, his cool flaming skull clothes didn’t help him prevent his slide back into the loss column! Okabe’s next opponent is Don Key and Turk squares off against an opponent to be named.

The final Welterweight contest brought us Robin Padilla (17-11) versus Julio Driggs (22-14) of illumiNaughty! Maybe someone urinated in Padilla’s cheerios or something because he was a man on fire once the bell rang! Driggs landed a sweet right hook that cut Padilla but that seemed to only motivate Padilla even more! After trading a couple of shots, Padilla landed a head kick that Driggs shrugged off and that incensed Padilla! However, it turns out that Driggs wasn’t able to hide the fact that the kick hurt him plus it cut him above his left eye! While trying to recover, Driggs left his guard open just a little too much and Padilla threw a pinpoint accurate straight punch that simply leveled Driggs, earning Padilla the KNOCKOUT VICTORY as well as the KNOCKOUT OF THE NIGHT HONORS! Padilla has now WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and fights Simeon Malaya next! I wonder if he’ll wear the warped skeleton face clothing again because that’s pretty cool. I thought Driggs’ Bruce Lee shirt would help him a bit more but Padilla was just too locked in for this fight! Driggs is back in the loss column and his next opponent is Mark Two.

The one Light Heavyweight fight of the night placed Nathan “Carnage” Corbett (18-9-1) and “AJ” Anthony Joseph (20-17) of ACME – St. Petersburg in the cage across from each other! Joseph’s money shirt looked unique but it didn’t help him out too much in this fight! From the beginning, this fight turned into a battle of bleeders as both men were cut before the one minute mark; Joseph from a nasty right uppercut and Corbett from a powerful left head kick! Maybe both of these warriors need Botox in their foreheads or more Vaseline from their respective trainers in the corner! Both men chose to keep this a standup affair and though both displayed tremendous striking and defensive ability, Corbett found his comfort zone first and was more effective in the eyes of the judges! Moving into the second round, Corbett began to take advantage of his height and was able to land very accurate punches on Corbett then loaded up and hit him with yet another brutal uppercut that further opened Joseph’s cut! Joseph recovered quickly from that strong uppercut but that allowed Corbett to close in and clinch him against the cage! Joseph actually performed better in the clinch, using his great knee strikes to score points on the card and do some damage to Corbett’s body! Corbett broke the clinch and opted to use his height advantage again. He was able to land some solid strikes but not without taking a few from Joseph as well. However, Corbett showed tremendous skill by feinting a left to the body and in a flash, connecting to Joseph’s face with a spinning right back fist! Not only did this surprise Joseph but it opened up the cut above his left eye to the point where he had trouble seeing correctly! In the third round, it was evident that Corbett was trying to set Joseph up for a big punch! He didn’t hit one big punch, but a well-timed combination of punches floored Joseph and really opened up the cut to where he was bleeding on both of them heavily! Joseph fought as valiantly as he could, even landing some shots in a clinch that Corbett initiated, but the referee didn’t like the amount of blood that Joseph was losing and he asked the ring doctor to take a look! The doctor called off the fight because he didn’t feel comfortable with the amount of blood flow into Joseph’s face that caused blurred vision! Corbett was granted the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Corbett fights his way back into the win column while Joseph has now LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW! Corbett battles Somore Fudge in his next fight and Joseph’s next fight is against Lucas LaVey.

Three Super Heavyweight fights round up the night of action! The first massive men to step into the cage for battle were Jefferson Davis “Boss” Hogg (21-10) of The Legion of Pain and “The Torpedo” Tore Rebo (26-14) of Polish Eagles’ Nest! Weighing in at a combined six hundred plus pounds, the fight fans knew there were going to be some heavy shots in this one and they were absolutely correct! Some fans told me that they thought Rebo may win because he stepped into this fight wearing his self-promotional clothing, and they thought he would be extra invigorated to win. That, however, was not the case against Hogg! A few seconds after the bell rang, Hogg blasted Rebo’s stomach with a hard right shin that caused Rebo’s next strike attempt to be way off! Hogg then locked Rebo into a clinch and leaned his heavy frame against the taller, lighter man, wearing him down slowly. Hogg looked like a dancer of sorts as he suddenly unleashed a flurry of knees to Rebo’s midsection! Rebo blocked some but took far too many and it was apparent they had their toll on his endurance! The crowd would call for “Kneeeeees!” and Hogg would start his dance all over again! Early in the second round, Hogg nailed one nasty-sounding overhand right that just didn’t sound good reverberating off Rebo’s jaw! He took it like a champion though so I give him a lot of credit! Hogg’s high energy output and Rebo’s absorption of body shots wore both fighters down as they were breathing heavily around the one minute mark of the round! Hogg went into the clinch again but this time, Rebo was able to land some knees of his own, along with some sharp punches, further sapping Hogg’s energy! Rebo also showed very good defensive techniques but Hogg was able to push through his fatigue and land some heavy knees and punches! In the final round, Hogg once again went into the clinch and after trading a few shots here and there, Rebo found an opening and took advantage! A slicing left elbow cut Hogg above his right eye then Rebo broke from the clinch and looked to land some power strikes! It was Hogg’s turn to show his very good defensive training and he prevented Rebo from dong any major damage! The judges gave Hogg the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY and he is on a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK! His next fight will be for the SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP as he steps into battle against Willy Stoppers!

The second Super Heavyweight battle occurred between Christiano “The Divine Huevo Destruct” Smokeleaf (17-5) and Teijo Tarzan (24-15) of VC-13! With such a size advantage over Huevo, I thought Tarzan would be able to use his rather sizeable weight advantage to his liking but this wasn’t the case! The fighters opted to stand toe-to-toe and trade techniques! Around the one minute mark, Smokeleaf landed a solid left cross on Tarzan’s chin and that cut him a bit! After trading more shots and defensive maneuvers, Smokeleaf decided to take the fight to the mat, a bit of a surprise to me actually! Smokeleaf wasn’t able to take advantage of the situation and eventually the referee stood both men up. After some time and jostling back and forth, Smokeleaf against took the fight to the mat but the referee stood the fighters up much faster this time around. Smokeleaf increased his aggression in the second round and locked Tarzan in a clinch! Smokeleaf again took Tarzan to the mat but again, neither fighter was truly effective and the referee made them stand. Tarzan later surprised Smokeleaf with a strong right hook that cut Smokeleaf above his left eye! Smokeleaf decided he was going to skip more punishment to his eye and again took Tarzan to the mat to finish the round! In the final round, Smokeleaf must have had some Ginseng or something because his energy level picked waaaaay up and he went submission attempt happy! He tried to get Tarzan to tap multiple times from multiple angles, but Tarzan wouldn’t concede! However, during the course of all of this, Smokeleaf was scoring vital points on the scorecard and when all was said and done, he earned the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY! Smokeleaf is on a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK and his next opponent is pending at this point in time. I think his shirt with the multi-colored superhero looking guy gave him some hidden strength or something to make it through all three rounds! Tarzan’s Stonewall coordinated clothing didn’t help him pull through in this difficult fight, unfortunately. Tarzan ends up in the loss column again and his next fight is against Joaozinho Gurgel. Say that name three times in a row quickly, I dare you! Wow, what a tongue twister!

The last Super Heavyweight fight and fight that I’ll be analyzing was Sergei “Bam-Bam” Bautin (25-16) of Tycoon Alliance confronting Umberto “Golden Machete” Duran (22-18-1) of Legion of Doom! Machete is another fighter who wears self-promoting clothes and I respect that because sometimes, you just need to remind people of who are you! That didn’t help him out in this fight but still, the confidence was there! This fight was a good old fashioned face-to-face, man-to-man standup match and did we see some powerful strikes from both men! Early in the first round, Bautin used some very nice footwork to position himself to nail Duran with a solid left hook that cut Duran above his right eye! Duran remained very active but Bautin used very effective counter-attacks and great timing to land effective strikes that kept Duran off balance for a while. There was a good show of sportsmanship as well. Duran caught Bautin with a clean right hook to the jaw that both men acknowledged with a smile and a quick high five before continuing the fight. I like to see that mutual respect because that’s what it should be about in this business! Duran also showed some counter-attack ability sporadically but effectively but this didn’t deter Bautin from his gameplan! Both fighters seemed to focus on body strikes as the round drew near the end and each one of them landed solid hits to the opponent’s torso! In the second round, both fighters came out with a purpose and the intensity picked up dramatically! Educated hands, feet and strong will were on display from both men but as the round wore on, Bautin was able to gauge Duran’s movements and he waited for the right moment to strike! Bautin lulled Duran to sleep, so to speak, with a series of punches that had equal rhythm. Duran let his guard down ever so slightly and boom, Bautin unloaded a quick and furious – or should I have said fast and furious? – right head kick that dropped Duran in his tracks! Duran was out on his feet and Bautin earned the KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Bautin is on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK and his next opponent is Thiago Tavares! Maybe he’ll wear the shirt he wore for this fight because it has a Street Fighter / Mixed Martial Arts feel to it and I dig it! Duran has now LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and has no scheduled fight currently.

All right good people, that concludes another summary by yours truly and as always, I thank you very much for taking the time to join me in analyzing the most recent fight event hosted by Steel Penn ICON. SPFT 129: Pre Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello good folks, I hope all of you are well and are prepared for another exciting night of Steel Penn ICON action! SPFT 129 is just around the corner and what a lineup we’re going to see! Live at the Wombley Stadium in London, England, where ninety-three thousand plus MMA crazies will pack the stadium and let their voices be heard, the excitement in the air is thick and I’ve even seen a couple of the fighters arriving early to the stadium to get a feel for the place.

Scheduled for this exciting night of fights is NOT ONE BUT TWO championship matches! The FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE is on the line when Adam Gracie and Ted Ghostal step into battle against one another, and the LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE is on the line as AJ Hearts and Taj al Din square off in the cage! Needless to say, these two title defenses will be enthralling, intense and nerve-wracking! Rounding out the action is ONE LIGHTWEIGHT, ONE WELTERWEIGHT, TWO MIDDLEWEIGHT, ONE MORE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT, AND THREE SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTS!

Beginning as always with the title fights, I’ll focus on the Featherweight Title match! Adam Gracie (20-9-1) of The Legion of Pain steps into this title defense with a RECENT SUBMISSION VICTORY over Tony Kazarian to capture the Steel Penn ICON Title! Apparently, Gracie is into burying people alive because he’s donning an outfit that has that message written all over it! I’m sure he’ll be very focused and fully intent on burying Ghostal, in a matter of speaking, but he’ll definitely have a fight on his hands! Ted Ghostal (29-11) of Tycoon World Order will definitely be one hell of a challenge for Gracie, at least the way I see it!

He steps into this title fight on a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK and, by the way, is wearing a very cool Floyd Mayweather Jr. outfit with “Money” having his hands wrapped in Ben Franklins. Very nice! Ghostal has a bit of a height advantage in this fight but with the amount of experience between the two, I highly doubt any slight physical advantage will mean much! Gracie has earned a lot of submission victories, paying tribute to his hard work and red belt in BJJ! Ghostal is equally dangerous and has earned a black belt in BJJ, so going to the ground for either fighter will be a struggle! Ghostal may have more victories by way of knockout so he may opt to try and end this early, but I highly doubt this fight will end before five rounds have been completed! You don’t want to miss this one folks!

The Light Heavyweight Championship fight pits AJ Hearts (25-4) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – represent! – against “The Tasmanian Devil” Taj al Din (41-7) of Convicted Inc! Hearts brings a recent TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY against Moses Diggs! Taj al Din is an extremely accomplished fighter, to say the least, and it’s my opinion that his numerous tattoos are representations of the fights he’s been in, including the cannabis! He has fought a lot of people ladies and gentlemen, and his record is nothing short of Hall of Fame numbers! He steps into this championship battle on a SEVEN FIGHT WIN STREAK! I’m very much looking forward to this fight because I personally haven’t seen al Din fight before, so I’m very curious about what makes him so successful!

Din has a height advantage over Hearts, but Hearts is the heavier fighter! What happens when an unstoppable force meets an immoveable object!? A fight like this, that’s what! Both management teams are elite in their field and I’m certain they’ve pored over numerous hours of film to piece together a game plan they feel will be the best for this battle! Each and every fight fan will be on edge during this fight and I personally hope this fight lasts the entire five rounds because it’s rare to see such high level of excellence confront one another at the same time! This may very well be the fight of the year ladies and gents, so do yourself a favor and make sure you watch each and every second of this one!

The lone Lightweight battle will be one of great interest to me on a managerial level, because Severi Turpaansaaja (25-12) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE is a very recent acquisition for my management team! I felt a great deal of pressure when we acquired him, along with Zica Brava, on the same day! These are two great fighters, in my opinion, and having both of them entrust their career path in me and my management team is truly an honor! Severi voiced his displeasure with his performances over the past two fights because he steps into action on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK! The man who he will be battling, Patrick Tiernan (27-10) will definitely be a very tough opponent!

Even though Tiernan enters this fight with a RECENT UNANIMOUS DECISION LOSS to King Marvin, prior to that he was on a SIX FIGHT WIN STREAK! That in itself shows what he’s capable of in the cage and he can defeat an opponent standing up or on the ground! Tiernan has a height advantage in this fight and he may opt to try and exploit that! Severi has worked diligently on preparing for this fight and no matter what happens, he should be proud of his outstanding efforts! I’ll definitely be nervous the entire time this fight unfolds and I hope the game plan we’ve devised for Severi pays off! Both men will be fighting for the chance to break their losing streak so that adds incentive!

The sole Welterweight fight on the card takes place between “The Underestimated” Michael Ehrmantraut (6-6) of Fighter’s First Alliance and Nathan “Cable” Summers (21-11-1)! I wonder why Ehramantraut feels he’s underestimated? Having an even fight record is not an easy achievement and he should be proud that he had a four fight win streak at one point in time! Summers is either a big fan of the X-Men or he likes to watch a lot of television! The shirt he currently has on is rather…interesting…because it’s a picture of money hanging from a clothesline. Unique.

Summers steps into the cage on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK so he’ll be looking to change his recent misfortunes! Ehrmantraut recently SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK with a TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY over Carlos Strikes! Carlos Strikes…apparently he didn’t do enough of that in his fight against Ehmrantraut, but that’s a different story. These fighters match up well in physical terms so there are no real advantages for either one there, so this fight will boil down to desire, technique and game planning! Ehrmantraut may look to end this quickly with a submission and meanwhile, Summers may try to end this early with a knockout! Who will impose their will!?

The first of two Middleweight fights features Glenn Carson (22-11-1) of Legion of Doom versus Josh “The Machine” Matson (26-16-2) of Polish Eagles’ Nest! Carson steps into the cage with a RECENT SUBMISSION VICTORY over Barry Manilow! Matson enters this fight with a RECENT UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over Joey Silvera that SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK. I assume he wants this fight to go bad for Carson because he has that written all over his clothes! Carson is the heavier of the two but Matson is the taller, so if either man focuses on their physical advantage, that may be of sleight help to them. However, seeing that both of these fighters have plenty of experience in the cage, I don’t see either one of them being able to do so to a high degree.

This is the type of fight that will depend upon the execution of techniques and being able to adjust on the fly! Carson has been in a lot of decision victory fights while Matson has had his share, but seems to have more knockout victories under his belt. Carson may opt to test Matson’s conditioning while Matson may try and test Carson’s ability to take a punch! For me, this is a hard fight to call because it really depends on who establishes themselves early in the fight and feels the most comfortable the quickest.

The last Middleweight fight places Joni “K100” Betoni (18-9) of The Consortium against “Ragin’” Cajun Xander (29-8-1) in the cage! Ragin’ Cajun, talk about some great food from a food truck! If any of you ever have an opportunity to eat from the Ragin’ Cajun truck, I highly recommend that you do because you’ll definitely thank me for it! Betoni has been struggling as of late, entering this fight on a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Xander recently had a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Roger Kint! Roger “Verbal” Kint, what a great character in “The Usual Suspects”! Kevin Spacey nailed that role! Since both fighters face off with the chance to snap a losing streak on the line, the fight may prove to be just a bit more intense than it may have been otherwise!

Betoni may very well reflect his “Beast Mode” clothing by trying to be very aggressive and end this fight early! He has a good number of KO and TKO’s on his record, so that may very well be the goal. However, Cajun is no stranger to knockout victories himself and may catch Betoni off guard if he isn’t careful! I have no doubt both managerial teams have done their best to prepare their respective fighters for this one so we’ll see what unfolds! Betoni has a distinct height and reach advantage so he may stay at a distance and try to utilize his boxing skills to both keep himself safe and cause damage to Xander. However, Xander is the heavier of the two so he may try to keep the fight in close quarters and lean his weight on Betoni to wear him down and hit him with opportune striking.

The last Light Heavyweight fight of the night gives us Cristiano Nascimento (17-10) of The Goonies and Bang McGee (27-18) facing off! Bang McGee just really sounds like a character in a B-rated adult movie! I know I’ve said that plenty of times but come on people, you know I’m right! When he enters the arena, I fully expect to hear some old school 1970’s style adult movie music while he struts to the ring in a robe, or maybe even a big hat with feather on it and some platform shoes with fish swimming around in the bottom of them! I’m just sayin’! Nascimento steps into the cage with a RECENT KNOCKOUT VICTORY over Anthony Joseph! McGee RECENTLY SNAPPED A TWO LOSS WIN STREAK by defeating Dantavious McJuckett by way of Technical Knockout!

These two fighters have faced off previously at SPFT 118! Nascimento won that fight in the first round by striking McGee until he was forced to submit! I know that incident really motivated McGee to train even harder and push himself to acquire more skills more quickly! Both of these fighters match up very well physically so there’ll be no advantage there! This fight will be won by the man who has the best prepared fight plan, will to win, and endurance to pull it off as I see it! Perhaps Nascimento holds a psychological edge in this fight knowing that he won the last time, but that remains to be seen! McGee may very well be very aggressive in wanting to prove that he can defeat Nascimento so we’ll see what transpires soon enough!

Moving on to the heavy hitters, the buffet breakers, the meat maulers…the Super Heavyweights, the first of three fights will show us “The Tyrant” Tony Mendez (42-22) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – Steel Penn in the houuuuuuuuuuse! – and Brian “Bomber” King (32-12) also…of the STEEL PENN ALLIANCE! Now you know how I feel about fellow Steel Penn Alliance members fighting, but I think they’ll be just fine at the next Alliance BBQ party! Recently, Mendez has been struggling as he is on a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK! Now he’s an Alliance member so I’ll support him always, but I need to talk to him about his current choice of a shirt! Wearing a shirt that shows money being soaked in a toilet…that’s not going to really motivate him properly!

King recently had a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED with a second round loss to Ernesto Oliveira! This fight may very well break down to a matter of bragging rights amongst fellow Steel Penn Alliance members but it is what it is! Both of these men will fight just as focused and intently against one another as they would any other opponent so no worries about that folks! I like the camouflage Steel Penn skull clothing that King is wearing! Mendez has a slight height advantage in this fight but both men not only have a lot of fighting experience, but they’ve also trained together at various times because in the Alliance, we all train together at some point in time. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it!

The second Super Heavyweight battle pits French Toast (17-7) of Valhalla in the cage against Rumble Lord (16-12) ! Toast recently SNAPPED A THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK with a victory over Joe Ball! I also see that French Toast is very attentive to the lovely ring girls that we have because he wants one of them to fully mount him so he can tap her out. Honestly, I can’t blame him because those are some fine young women, but I won’t elaborate about that or I’ll turn into Quagmire from Family Guy…giggity! Toast has a great ring entrance song also, though it’s highly inappropriate for our younger viewers. Lord steps into battle on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK! However, there are a couple of things I want to elaborate upon about Lord.

The first: that hair! My man, I’m cool with the natural look, trust me, that’s all fine and dandy, but at least try to keep some semblance of order up there! Wow, your hair looks like a Chia pet that got plugged into a light socket! And, perhaps a small word of advice: Reliable sources tell me that you have a nice amount of money saved in the bank. My man, use some of that hard-earned cash and go clothes shopping! I fully support MMATycoon.com and everything they represent, but man, I can smell those clothes from here! Some new threads may help you feel a little better too. I’m just sayin’! Toast has quite a height advantage so he may opt to stay on the outside and pepper Lord with jabs and crosses! Lord is the heavier fighter so he may press close to Toast so he can use that weight to land heavy strikes on the inside plus wear Toast down! If Lord doesn’t wear some fresher clothes in this fight, he may very well wear all of us in attendance down! Whoowee!

And finally, last but definitely not least, “Lucky” Elroy Kleinschmidt (13-9) of Cold Blooded Killers and Pes Barbos (12-8) conclude the Super Heavyweight action of the night! Kleinschmidt has really been struggling lately, stepping into the cage on a SIX FIGHT LOSING STREAK! OUCH! That in and of itself will fuel a very strong fire of desire – I’m a poet and you didn’t know it – to put an abrupt halt to that losing streak! Barbos recently had a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Shane Carwin so he’ll be looking to get back into that win column as soon as possible! Barbos also has a very cool dragon-themed Yin-Yang outfit on! I’m sure he’ll be looking to find the balance in this fight!

Barbos doesn’t want to be the man that allowed Kleinschmidt to be “lucky” once again and snap that losing streak so he’ll have his own motivation as well! Barbos has a sleight height advantage but “Lucky” has quite a weight advantage, so he may choose to try and use that weight on the inside, making Barbos wear down physically and also land some heavy shots in close quarters! Barbos may have to rely upon his speed advantage, assuming he has one, to keep this fight mobile and moving in an effort to tire “Lucky” down and take some of the strength out of his strikes! We’ll see how each of these fighters approaches this fight because anything can happen! “Lucky” has shown he has heavy hands so that may be a factor in this fight if Barbos lets his guard down!

Well there you have it good people, yet another Steel Penn ICON Pre Pay-Per-View event summary written by yours truly! If you have a chance to stop by and say a quick hello, please do so. SPFT 129: Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello ladies and gentlemen, I hope all of you are well and each of you had a great weekend! Wow, what a fantastic mixed martial arts event SPFT 129 turned out to be! I personally left the Wombley Stadium a bit overwhelmed! Not only did I, along with ninety-three thousand plus fans in attendance see a fight that will be in the annals of history of one of the all-time greats, but I also personally watched a fighter I newly manage battle a very tough opponent and that was definitely nerve wracking for me! We saw THREE TKO’S, ONE KO, FOUR SUBMISSIONS, THE MOST I’VE SEEN IN SOME TIME IN ONE NIGHT, AND TWO UNANIMOUS DECISIONS! Without further ado, let’s get down to business!

First and foremost, let me begin by trying to describe the monumental battle between two of the most elite, highly respected, highly professional and highly proud warriors, “The Tasmanian Devil” Taj al Din (42-7) of Convicted Inc. and A J Hearts (25-5) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – whooooo whoooooooo! The bottom line of this fight, quite honestly, is there were no losers! Two fighters of this magnitude don’t cross paths very often so when they do, the result is one that will always be remembered in fight history!

This was the first time I personally witnessed Taj al Din fight and let me say that he is definitely amongst the best to ever step into the cage! Both Alliances should be very proud of their respective fighters and I certainly hope other fighters and managers give both of these excellent warriors their just due! Excellent management, training, skill, determination and knowledge have been poured into these men and it shows, undoubtedly!

What a tremendous Light Heavyweight fight we were privileged to see! The game plan for each man was what intrigued me about this matchup because they are quite evenly skilled! Hearts came into the fight with a weight advantage and Taj a height advantage. As soon as the bell rang, Hearts shot out of the corner like a runaway bull and took al Din to the mat, trying to enforce his tremendous wrestling ability! Hearts appeared to want to slow the pace and frustrate al Din, but al Din adjusted, as expected. Hearts attempted to utilize his ground-n-pound skills but al Din’s excellent defense kept him safe, and his BJJ training showed when he reversed the situation and took Hearts’ back!

Taj al Din put forth a lot of effort in trying to lock Hearts in a submission but it was Hearts turn to show his very impressive defensive capabilities! The referee eventually stood both men up and al Din was able to nail Hearts with a picture perfect one-two combination that cut Hearts above his left eye! Taj al Din picked up his pace a bit but Hearts was not only able to prevent further damage to his cut but also countered a miss with a beautiful takedown! Hearts again attempted to damage al Din with ground-n-pound but to no avail!

In the second round, Taj al Din settled in, found his range, and began to hit Hearts with some strong shots from his fists and feet! After taking a thudding body shot, Hearts again took the fight to the ground and went to work! Throwing punches when he could, Hearts was determined to make the ground-n-pound effective but al Din’s defense was too pinpoint, preventing any damage being done! The referee stood both men up and Taj al Din looked like an energized Thai fighter! He began launching kicks of all types and even attempted two spinning back kicks in a row that Hearts avoided! However, al Din was able to land some very hard leg and body kicks that did their damage, along with very accurate and effective punches!

Moving into round three, Taj al Din made it evident he wanted to wear Hearts down even further with damaging body shots and he did land more shots, that’s for sure! However, true to form for this fight, Heart countered a miss and took the fight to the mat, looking to cause his share of damage! Both fighters began showing a lot of fatigue and it was Taj al Din who was able to push through that and land the more effective strikes! A vicious one-two combination rocked Hearts big time and was the beginning of the end! Taj al Din then measured Hearts and unloaded a furious right uppercut that floored Hearts and al Din leapt in like a tiger, unloading punches that forced the referee to stop the fight, giving Taj al Din the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY!

Taj al Din leapt for joy, hugged his management team, then showed a tremendous amount of class by hugging Hearts. Hearts, likewise, a consummate professional, thanked al Din for a tremendous fight, both men shook hands once the gloves were removed, and Hearts and al Din held the title above their heads and received a standing ovation from the packed house! This was a true night to remember and tremendous respect was shown by everyone involved, a testament to the outstanding men both fighters are! Both men were extremely gracious with their interviews and thanked the fans profusely for all they have done for the sport! Taj al Din extends his win streak to EIGHT VICTORIES IN A ROW and fights Ansgar Axelsson next! Hearts must begin a new winning streak after this fight and currently has a fight under offer!

The other Light Heavyweight fight on the card took place between Cristiano Nascimento (18-10) of The Goonies and Bang McGee (27-19)! It seemed that someone pissed in Nascimento’s cheerios earlier in the morning or something, because he was a man possesse as soon as that bell rang! A solid right jab set the tone as McGee was cut from the impact, right on the bridge of his nose! Nascimento then opted to clinch McGee and after some aggressive short punches, it was McGee’s turn to return the bleeding favor! A well timed, well-placed right knee to Nascimento’s head cut Nascimento above his right eye! McGee increased his energy output and let his knees fly, landing some solid body shots with them, along with a couple more head shots!

Nascimento took them well and could be seen waiting for the right moment to strike! McGee began to slow because of energy loss and body shots from Nascimento, and that spelled trouble for him! The extra time adding strength paid off for Nascimento as his shots on McGee began to take a heavy toll that eventually lead to McGee dropping his hands momentarily! A brutal right shoulder strike rocked McGee, something I’ve not seen before, and Nascimento was all over him! He went to work on McGee’s body and yet another nasty shoulder strike dropped McGee right into position for a savage uppercut that sent McGee against the cage!

McGee tried to land some shots and make space but Nascimento was too assertive! Another tremendous uppercut sent McGee against the cage and a strong right hand dropped him to the mat! Nascimento took advantage, unloaded punches and the referee stopped the fight, giving Nascimento the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Nascimento has a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK and currently has a fight under offer! McGee will have the task of righting the ship and trying to earn his way back into the win column following this loss!

The sole Featherweight fight was for the Featherweight title! Adam Gracie (21-9-1) of The Legion of Pain and Tad Ghostal (29-12) of Tycoon World Order squared off in an excellent championship match! Ghostal entered this fight with the height and weight advantage, but the height in particular may have wound up being his undoing, along with Gracie’s skill level of course! Ghostal began with sharp, accurate punches that kept Gracie at bay briefly but Gracie was able to maneuver himself into better position and eventually took Ghostal to the mat with a textbook takedown! Gracie tried to damage Ghostal with some ground-n-pound but Ghostal defended very well!

The referee had seen enough and stood both men up again. Again, Ghostal nailed Gracie with beautifully thrown punches but he didn’t do enough of that and allowed Gracie to close the distance and take him to the mat again! Again trying the ground-n-pound game, Gracie was able to land some shots but overall, Ghostal kept himself safe…but a little too safe! Ghostal defended the first attempt at a Kimura very well, but he left his other arm exposed for too long! Gracie seized the opportunity, shifted his body, locked the arm, leaned his weight against Ghostal and wrapped his legs around Ghostal’s body! Ghostal tried to fight it but the pain was too much, forcing him to tap out and giving Gracie the SUBMISSION VICTORY and successful defense of the title! Gracie has now WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW while Ghostal has a THREE FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED!

Moving onto the lone Lightweight fight on the card, my new acquisition, Severi Turpaansaaja (26-12) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – big baaaaabaaaayyyy – battled Patrick Tiernan (27-11) in the cage! This was very difficult for me to watch without yelling encouragement or other things during the fight! Tiernan is a very tough fighter and I felt his height advantage would cause Severi – I’ll use his first name because his last name is quite a workout for breathing exercises – some difficulties, and I was right! As soon as the bell rang, Severi sprung into action and took the fight to the mat in an effort to negate Tiernan’s height advantage!

Severi knew that Tiernan would have a very sound ground defensive game so he had to expend a lot of energy not only trying to land some ground-n-pound but to also maintain ground control! It was a difficult task but he was successful in the first round! In the second round, Tiernan kept distance between he and Severi and a punishing one-two punch combination landed nicely and cut Severi above his left eye! That concerned me and the corner men, but Severi fought through it very well! Tiernan closed the distance, went into the clinch, and did some damage to Severi’s body! Severi defended well enough against a world class boxer, undoubtedly, but he absorbed some punishing body strikes that definitely affected him as the fight wore on!

Tiernan gave Severi a little breathing room and Severi opted to break the clinch then shortly thereafter, he took Tiernan to the mat again! Tiernan defended very well again and avoided serious damage from the ground-n-pound attack, though Severi was able to land some shots and had a decent knee-and-forearm combination on Tiernan! Tiernan worked his way back to standing and was able to land a few more shots before Severi broke the clinch! Moving into the final round, Tiernan again opted to put Severi in a clinch and he was effective with his punches from that distance, a few of them snapping Severi’s head back and causing me some anguish in the meantime!

Severi was able to find enough room eventually to score another hard-earned takedown and this allowed him to gather himself and finish strong! Both Severi and Tiernan could sense they needed strong finishes to score points on the judges’ cards! After all was said and done, both men were exhausted, breathing heavily and anxious for the results, but they took the time to hug one another, shake hands, shake the hands of the others’ corner men, then the judges gave the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY to Severi, much to my relief! Severi SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK and next faces Zophiel Furfur! Tiernan has LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and his next challenger is Raul Portugis!

The one Welterweight fight of the night went down between “The Underestimated” Michael Ehrmantraut (7-6) of Fighter’s First Alliance and Nathan “Cable” Summers (21-12-1)! Perhaps Summers underestimated Ehrmantraut because he came into this fight focused and ready! Summers began with some nice punching techniques and was able to land a few effective shots, but Ehrmantraut turned things around quickly! He landed some nice punches of his own then took Summers to the mat with a beautiful takedown! He then methodically worked his way past a decent defensive effort from Summers, gained full mount, and let the bombs drop!

Summers couldn’t stop the onslaught and Ehrmantraut pounded his way to a SUBMISSION (STRIKES) VICTORY! Ehrmantraut has now WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and next battles Newbomb Turk! Summers has now LOST THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW and has not scheduled a fight as of yet! Maybe “Cable” should switch to “Dish” as a way of trying to turn around his recent slide? Come on, you know you like that corny stuff sometimes! I blame Summers’ shirt for distracting him because he was probably thinking about a lot of money when Ehrmantraut locked in his submission and didn’t pay enough attention to what was happening! Try a different shirt next time man!

The first of two Middleweight fights took place between Glenn Carson (23-11-1) of Legion of Doom and Josh “The Machine” Matson 26-17-2) of Polish Eagles’ Nest! Matson tried a rushing punching attack on Carson and Carson waited for him, taking him to the mat with a sweet counter-takedown effort! Matson looked uncomfortable on the ground but he was defending himself well initially so Carson took a different angle and attempted an arm triangle! Matson was able to thwart that effort but Carson kept at it! Working his way to better positioning, he again went for an arm triangle but this time, he was able to get both legs into the attempt!

He positioned himself quickly, locked in the arm triangle, and tightened it until Matson had no choice but to tap out! Carson earned the SUBMISSION VICTORY but unfortunately for Matson, the “Machine” broke down but I’m sure his management team will have him working diligently to get right back on course! Carson has now WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and steps into the cage next against Cajun Xander! Matson seeks a return to the win column after this loss and currently has no fight scheduled!

The last Middleweight fight on the card placed “Ragin’” Cajun Xander (30-8-1) across the cage from Joni “K100” Betoni (18-10)! Betoni had a distinct height advantage in this fight and I thought for sure he would let the fists fly and do his best to keep Xander at a distance! Initially Betoni did exactly that, keeping his hands and feet moving, but he eventually settled a bit too much, and after missing a punching combination, Xander countered fantastically with a counter takedown! Xander opted to control the fight at this point until the referee stood both men up! The frustration was evident on Betoni’s face but he kept going!

Betoni again tried to establish his punches and even tossed in a couple of kicks, but Xander landed the more effective kicks, showed airtight defense, and again took Betoni to the mat! Betoni looked like a desperate fighter trying to end the fight as soon as he could when it went to the ground! He attempted numerous submissions that scored points on the judges’ cards but Xander was able to defend them easily! In the second round, Xander allowed his defensive prowess to keep him out of trouble, but he took an accidental kick in the nether regions that halted the action for a couple of minutes!

He recovered, Betoni sincerely apologized, they touched gloves, and the action continued! Betoni found his punching range after that break and was effectively landing accurate punches between Xander’s guard! Xander countered this with excellent kicking techniques to Betoni’s legs that slowed the taller man down! Xander got a bit tired, dropped his hands, and was momentarily dropped! A thundering right hook dropped Xander to his left knee but much to his credit, he got right back up! Xander went back to the ground game plan and when he took Betoni to the mat, Betoni landed more on his head than on his back and he got rocked from that! Xander chose to stand up and allow Betoni to get to his feet also, a bit of an unusual move but that’s his choice!

After trading misses, Betoni popped Xander with a very nice left hook that made both men smile, pause momentarily, slap hands then continue, a good sign of respect! Betoni missed a head kick, Xander took him to the mat, Betoni tried a submission, and Xander stood back up and allowed Betoni to again get to his feet! Seeing that he was equally exhausted, Xander mustered the strength and energy to unload one vicious right uppercut that floored Betoni and gave him the KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Xander begins a new win streak and his next opponent, as previously mentioned will be Glenn Carson! Betoni has lost FOUR FIGHTS IN A ROW and rumor has it that he and the management team came to a mutual agreement to go their separate ways! Betoni wore cool “Beast” clothing but he wasn’t able to bring out the beast within to win the fight! Perhaps another management team will take him on and we could very well see Betoni return to action in the near future!

And lastly, we move into the Super Heavyweight fights of the night! “The Tyrant” Tony Mendez (43-22) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – can I get a what, what!? – and Brian “Bomber” King (32-13) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – representin’! – began the action for the heavy hitters! Now you folks know how I feel about Alliance members fighting one another but neither of the warriors held anything back, which is a sign of respect for each other so I’m cool with it! In the opening round, both fighters were trying to get a feel of the other and King was the first to land a heavy leg kick that buckled Mendez momentarily! He gathered himself quickly and got to his feet just in time to avoid any further damage! Mendez was able to soften up King’s legs with some stinging leg kicks! They moved into clinching range, that’s when things picked up steam!

Both fighters did a little damage with short punches but mainly they took the chance to catch their breath and figure out a different approach! Mendez decided to take the fight to the ground, which turned out to be a very smart move! He was able to move himself into good striking position and he landed a couple of brutal strikes that opened a cut above King’s left eye! After some jockeying, Mendez unloaded with a slicing right elbow that opened King’s cut even further! Even more ground-n-pound from Mendez opened the cut even more and it was apparent the cut was going to potentially be big trouble! King opened the second round with a clinch, wanting to cause some damage to Mendez while protecting that cut, sort of like Mickey told Rocky to protect that eye!

King spent a lot of energy trying to land shots but Mendez’s defense was far too sound to allow any real damage and King’s energy level began to wane! More defense from Mendez opened up the opportunity for him to pull guard and he did just that, taking the fight to the mat yet again! Mendez’s management team worked diligently on improving his BJJ and it showed with his crisp techniques! King was able to defend himself very well and he even reversed the situation and wound up in the mount briefly! Both men struggled to do any serious damage and after a while, the referee decided to stand both fighters up! However, Mendez opted to take the fight to the ground to end the round!

In the third round, both warriors opted to keep the fight standing and this proved to be a miscalculation on King’s part, especially with that bad cut! King came out firing and landed some powerful shots, keeping Mendez at bay and on the defensive! Both men exchanged punches and low kicks, but it was Mendez who was able to find that one opening, tagging King with a brutal one-two punching combo that opened the cut badly! The ring doctor stopped the fight and Mendez was awarded the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY! Mendez SNAPPED A THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK and currently has no fight scheduled! Maybe he’ll take some of that victory money and buy a shirt that represents money a bit better!? I’m just sayin’! King is now on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK and also has no fight scheduled as of yet! The Steel Penn skull outfit looked cool but unfortunately it didn’t help him win the fight, though he did have some style points!

The second Super Heavyweight showcase pit French Toast (18-7) of Valhalla and Rumble Lord (16-13) in the cage across from one another! Toast had a distinct height advantage in this fight, but to be honest folks, Lord had the smell distinction advantage! Good lord that man needs someone to step in, burn the MMA Tycoon clothes he has on, get him some new clothes, and then he’ll be on the way to doing something good! There’s no doubting Lord has a lot of physical strength, but you don’t want to also smell powerful in the wrong way!

Lord made it very apparent in this fight that he wanted to take Toast to the mat for a submission win attempt! He took Lord to the mat after one failed attempt due to Toast’s very solid takedown defense then immediately tried to position himself for a kimura! Both men jostled for positioning but they’re both solid on the ground, making anything difficult to achieve! Toast saw a quick opportunity to attempt a guillotine, but Lord saw what he was doing and was able to avoid it quickly before getting into any type of trouble! Toast worked his way into full guard momentarily but Lord reversed it and went for an armbar, though it was unsuccessful! The referee eventually stood the men up but Toast took it back to the mat soon after and each man traded being in full guard position!

The second round was very much the same as the first, both combatants opting to take the fight to the mat and look for a submission victory! Neither man was able to really do a lot of damage to the other so a battle for control and scoring points on the judges’ cards became the goal of both fighters! In the third round, Lord’s corner told him that he needed to get the victory because they felt he may be behind on the scorecards! Lord definitely put forth a tremendous amount of energy in the final round, doing all he could to land some ground-n-pound before trying more submissions, but Toast was ready for the task at hand and not only defended well but also looked for his opportunities to try for a submission victory!

Although Lord stepped up his efforts, once the bell rang and all was said and done, all three judges scored the fight for French Toast, giving him the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY! Toast has WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and I have to wonder if his outfit depicting his desire to have a lovely ring girl mount him, helped him with this fight? Food for thought and yes, that’s a pun because of his name! Oh you know you like it! Toast will face Tore Rebo for his next fight! Lord had a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED and his next opponent is currently under offer! Also, my man Lord, a word of advice: A nice new outfit or two – probably three over the next month – would do you wonders with how you feel when you fight. Just putting that out there! I also notice that your home base is in Tokyo but I saw you in London hanging around. Don’t forget to get a flight back to Tokyo you crazy kid!

Last but not least by any means, “Lucky” Elroy Kleinschmidt (14-9) of Cold Blooded Killers and Pes Barbos (12-9) battled it out in the cage! Personally I’m always a little surprised when any Super Heavyweight takes the fight to the mat because generally, and I admit I’m a bit biased, I figure that having that much size and strength is best used standing up, but then again, I’m just a columnist and manager, not a fighter. Kleinschmidt had quite a weight advantage in this fight so taking it to the mat and using that extra weight to press and pressure Barbos was obviously a smart and successful decision!

Barbos tried to take the fight to the ground on his terms but was stuffed then wound up on the wrong end of a takedown from Elroy! Much to his credit, Barbos defended against the early ground-n-pound very well, a display of his hard work! However, he focused a bit too much on defending his body and took a nasty right elbow right to the face! He was lucky that elbow didn’t cut him but it did some damage! Barbos again defended pretty well but took a couple of very solid strikes and the referee stepped in for a closer look, which is always trouble! Elroy steadily worked his way into better positioning and though he missed more strikes on the ground, he was able to maneuver himself into a kimura attempt!

Once Elroy locked that in and threw his leg over Barbos’ head, it was all she wrote! He reared back and Barbos had no choice but to tap, giving Elroy the SUBMISSION VICTORY! Kleinschmidt SNAPPED A SIX FIGHT LOSING STREAK and his next fight is currently under offer! Maybe he should wear the very colorful shorts he has on for his future fights as they may prove to be a lucky pair of shorts! You know how athletes are with their superstitions and such! Barbos has now LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and also has a fight currently under offer! I like the cool dragon outfit he wore for this fight but unfortunately, style points didn’t help in this battle!

Well there you have it ladies and gentlemen, another Post Pay-Per-View Summary written by your man on the scene, Furious Styles! I thank you for joining me and I hope you enjoyed the fights as much as I did! I personally want to thank Taj al Din and A J Hearts for putting on one hell of a show in that ring which I’ll never forget! Steel Penn will always strive to achieve the absolute best results so all of you can achieve do the same! Take care, good night and see you at the next Steel Penn ICON event!

SPFT 130: Pre Pay-Per-View Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello lovelies! Is that a London saying? Well even if it isn’t, I’m going to use it. How are all of you doing? I hope everyone is well and welcome to another Pre Pay-Per-View Summary written by yours truly, Furious Styles! Steel Penn ICON keep Wombley Stadium and its jam-packed rabid MMA fans rockin’ with yet another night promising to be intense, thrilling and provocative! I’m still recovering from the historical battle we all witnessed at SPFT 129! Taj al Din and A J Hearts gave all they had and everyone in attendance gave them a very deserving standing ovation!

SPFT 130 will bring you the following: TWO FEATHERWEIGHT, TWO LIGHTWEIGHT AND THE LIGHTWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP IS ON THE LINE, TWO WELTERWEIGHT, ONE MIDDLEWEIGHT, ONE LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHT AND TWO SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHTS! Since there’s gold on the line, let’s start business with that fight!

Virgil Cid (21-6) of Children of the Law of One defends the Lightweight Championship against Hans Landa (22-12-1) of ACME – St Petersburg – still one of the best characters in a movie that I’ve seen in a very long time! The fighter is very good also but you know what I mean. Cid brings the confidence and momentum of a SIX FIGHT WIN STREAK into this title defense against Landa! Also, Cid defeated Landa before at SPFT 115 so that will definitely be somewhere in both fighters’ minds! Although he’s wearing an “Average Joe’s” shirt, Cid is far from that and has proven to be quite a worthy champion! Landa enters this fight on a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK and will no doubt look to not only win the title, but partially erase the earlier loss to Cid I previously mentioned!

Cid has the height advantage for this fight and Landa has the weight advantage. Whether or not either of these men will be able to capitalize on their respective advantages remains to be seen because they’ve both been in numerous fights against opponents of various sizes and styles. Cid seems to have more Decision victories overall than Landa so he may opt to test Landa’s conditioning. Landa has a bit more Knockout victories so he may look to press the action and test Landa’s chin as best as he can. This will definitely be a chess game of a title fight that I very much look forward to!

The last Lightweight fight on the card brings us “The Honorable” James Dooalot (16-7) of Legion of Doom versus Frank “Razor” Rizzo Jr. (19-12-1) of Tycoon World Order! Dooalot recently had a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Virgil Cid, so he’ll be looking to get back onto the winning side of things! Also, I have a suspicion he may be rooting for Landa to defeat Cid for the title because hey, that’s the way it is sometimes. Rizzo Jr. brings a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK into this fight and he may try to distract Dooalot with that sensuous picture of the young lady on his shirt! I know that distracts me so it may just work.

Dooalot has both the height and weight advantage in this fight so Rizzo Jr. will have to utilize his speed and technique capabilities to overcome the physical deficits he faces in this fight. Both fighters have plenty of in-cage experience so that won’t be an advantage in my opinion. Both fighters prefer to win fights by Knockout or Decision, so I wonder if either of them will opt to try and take this fight to the mat? Time will definitely tell as always.

The first Featherweight fight of the evening places Collin Glorious (27-11-3) of The Broken Halo Pride and Mark “Man of Science” Spencer (20-15) in the cage across from one another! Glorious has earned a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK stepping into action tonight. Not only does Spencer also bring a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK with him against Glorious, but he also apparently was robbed by his manager, or at least that’s what his shirt claims! I wonder what scientific approach he’ll take to this fight? What methods of analysis will he use against Glorious?

Glorious has the height and reach advantage in this fight and Spencer has a slight weight advantage. Perhaps he’ll be able to calculate a game plan that will utilize this to the best of his ability? Perhaps he’ll attempt to take this fight to the ground and submit Glorious? Glorious seems to prefer knockout victories, as many fighters do I assume, so that may very well be his goal for this confrontation. This may very well end up being a battle of determination to execute a set game plan as opposed to changing on the fly.

The remaining Featherweight fight is between Tim “Hijack” Ernst (17-14-1) of ACME – St. Petersburg and Kelsey Curtis (12-10-1)! Ernst has LOST THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW entering this contest! If I may, perhaps changing his shorts would help him feel better about fighting and in turn, he may feel more inclined to fight better overall? Just an observation. Also, your base is in New York yet you’re hanging out in Rio de Janeiro? Don’t get me wrong, I’d hang out there all day if I could because wow, some of those Brazilian women are absolutely stunning! However, you have a fight to get ready for man so get back to the Big Apple and hit the gym! Just trying to help you out a little. If you’re not careful, you’ll get owned as Curtis’ shirt proclaims!

Ernst has the height advantage against Curtis and may opt to stay on the outside and use his boxing skills to score points and cause damage if possible. He’s also a bit heavier but I don’t think that will make much of a difference because Curtis has seen enough action to know how to handle himself. Ernst has won matches in various ways and Curtis seems to favor more submissions, so Ernst may have more reason to keep this fight standing as much as possible to take advantage of that reach.

The first Welterweight fight places Manya “The Outlaw” Kizz (20-11) – who has a very interesting Gladiator-ish appearance – and Bapit “The Cowboy” Pradchapet (28-18) of The Legion of Pain in the cage across from each other! Kizz recently had a TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED at the hands of Braylon Beswicke! I wonder if Kizz wore the suit top and kilt bottoms for his last match? If he did, then he may want to consider a wardrobe change because that’s not exactly the most comfortable of combat wear! I’m sure his upper body was sweating big time, though the kilt may have provided quite a bit of ventilation for his legs. Pradchapet has LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW, though he’s styling with the very cool Immortals outfit!

Perhaps the “Cowboy” will want to lasso Kizz’s kilt if he wears it into the fight because that may be traumatic for Pradchapet to see! A man fighting in a kilt is a bit, unusual, even for this sport. Kizz is the taller and heavier man in this fight so he may opt to try and take advantage of that situation. However, he knows Pradchapet has been in enough fights to be comfortable against anyone in the ring so that may not even cross his mind. Both of these fighters have been on the right and wrong end of numerous knockouts, so this may become a test of the other man’s chin. I’ll be very surprised if this fight goes to the ground at all.

The final Welterweight fight takes place between “The Natural” Avon Barksdale (16-10-1) of Soul Supremacy Alliance and Knatte Grep (18-7)! Barksdale SUFFERED A RECENT TKO LOSS to Jon Leloup and he will be fighting to get off the snide and back into the win column! On a side note ladies and gents, after looking into the eyes of “The Natural”, I’m not sure what he considers natural, but those eyes and that stare are definitely far from it! I’m just sayin’. Grep enters the ring with a RECENT UNANIMOUS DECISION LOSS to Rumina Sato, so he’ll likewise look to turn things around quickly! Also on a side note, my man Grep, there are very good barbers in London, so you may want to hit one of them up. Just a suggestion.

Barksdale has the height and weight advantage in this fight but I really can’t say what strategy he’ll implore, because the more I look at his eyes, the more confused I become, so I’ll just leave that alone. He may opt to try and end this fight early and standing up because Grep has shown a propensity to end fights by way of submission. If Grep can get this fight to the ground, he may very well be right at home and pull out a submission victory.

The sole Middleweight fight will be between Jack “Hammer” Fall (13-3) of The Corporation and Mateus Gracie (19-10) of Tycoon World Order! Fall steps into the cage with a RECENT UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY over…seriously? The guy he beat is named…Eaton Cox!? Damn, I know he went through hell in school with the teasing and name calling! No wonder he became an MMA fighter! Ouch! Gracie steps into combat on a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK and is wearing a very distracting shirt which he may wear to try and distract Fall with! Fall is wearing an amusing shirt if I may say so myself.

Gracie is the heavier fighter and Fall has a very slight height advantage. However, I think Gracie will rely on his fighting experience to try and overcome the upstart, Fall. Wiley veterans know tricks of the trade and he may be able to bait Fall into fighting a fight that favors him rather than favoring Fall. Fall likes to finish fights by way of submission so Gracie may try to keep this fight standing as much as possible. Gracie does have some knockout victories under his belt so this would be familiar territory for him.

The only Light Heavyweight fight on the card occurs between Sean Ripgut (24-7-1) and Matt Santos (12-7) of Knights of the Round Table! Ripgut, I like that last name, especially for a mixed martial arts fighter! He enters the cage on a THREE FIGHT LOSING STREAK so he’ll definitely look to aggressively turn around his recent struggles! Since Santos is a member of that alliance, does that mean he’ll ride a horse into the arena, or don a suit of armor for some time before this fight? I wonder. Santos steps into combat on a FOUR FIGHT LOSING STREAK so like Ripgut, he’ll definitely look to take back that winning feeling! Ripgut should make sure he doesn’t piss Santos off, at least according to Santos’ current shirt, but maybe Santos does need to get pissed off.

Ripgut has a twenty pound advantage for this fight so he may try to clinch Santos and lean that extra weight on him to wear him down. Or he could opt to try and take the fight to the ground to again lean that extra weight on Santos while working to get into position to either ground-n-pound or look for a submission finish. Santos has shown a penchant for knocking people out so he may very well do all he can to keep this fight on its feet and unleash his fists because he has excellent boxing skills. Ripgut has very good boxing skills, however, so that may prove to be more difficult than Santos would expect. This will be an interesting fight because Ripgut definitely has more in-cage experience as well.

Rounding out the night’s events are two Super Heavyweight battles! The first one places Shane Carwin (23-16) of Tycoon World Order and “The Engineer” Gor Keyman (25-11) in the cage against one another! Carwin steps into this fight with a RECENT TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY over Pes Barbos! Keyman is currently on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK and has a Halloween / Death Skull motif going with his current choice of clothes. I like the Reaper shirt a lot! Perhaps Keyman is looking to…kill…his losing streak and…lay to rest…Carwin’s recent win streak!? Yeah, that was bad but hey, I wrote it and there it is! I think Keyman should create another version of Rogaine to help himself out. I’m just sayin’.

Keyman is slightly taller and a good amount heavier than Carwin in this fight, so Carwin may opt to rely on foot movement and overall speed to counter the size disadvantage. Keyman may try to use his Muay Thai skills to press Carwin against the cage in a clinch and make him support that extra weight while trying to land strikes. Both of these fighters have shown they prefer the stand up game, so this may be a toe-to-toe battle of wills and chin strength. If this fight goes to the ground, I’ll be very surprised.

Rounding out the night’s events, Matt “Metal Hands” Lisser (16-10) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE – that’s right baby, Steel in the houuuuuuuse! – and “Papa Doc” Francois Duvalier (15-11) step into the cage of battle! Lisser is currently on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK so he’ll definitely want to stop that streak as soon as possible! Since he’s wearing a Pegasus-themed outfit, he’ll want to take flight and let his hands go against Duvalier. Duvalier is also on a TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK, so the incentive to get back into the win column is definitely there! Duvalier may use money as a motivation for this fight because the shirt he’s wearing is covered with pictures of money. Hey, whatever works.

Duvalier has the height and a good amount of weight advantage as well, so he may come out and very aggressively try to overwhelm Lisser with his weight, pressing him against the cage and landing heavy strikes. Lisser likewise favors knockout victories and both of these warriors have proven that they have the boxing skills and strength to drop any of their opponents in the blink of an eye, so this fight should be a very competitive standing affair if my guess is accurate. One of these combatants could very well end up being dropped by a solid punch so keep your head moving gentlemen.

All right folks, that’s my time and the conclusion of another Pre Pay-Per-View Summary. I thank you for taking the time to read this as always and remember, Steel Penn ICON is a symbol of excellence, dedication and motivation. Take care, have a great day and see you at the fights!
