Weekly News




- After having 2 fights outside of Umbrella, fan favorite Dennis Page has signed a new contract with Umbrella, his first fight back under the banner will be against Federico Manta



- David Lang, currently the 145lbs champion, has been fined for racial slurs. But it has also been confirmed by Igor that Lang will face the winner of Benjamin Ruggiero and Dennis Burza, who face off for the 135lbs title. Interesting times for the lighter weight divisions.



- Umbrella's owner, Igor Byhenikov, has 4 weeks left in his sling



- Fast rising star Oscar Dos Santos will be putting his two fight win streak to the test against the winner of Henry Rearden and Richard Exlax



- It's almost time for Umbrella to make the move to PPV and to help us, Igor has made a deal with Ascension owner Scott Davies and have entered a partnership which will see some of Ascension's best come over to Umbrella and fight in the cage. The first event in which this will happen is aimed for Umbrella 94.



- 2 titles are on the line at Umbrella 91 this week, the 170lbs title sees Kantoro Hoshino face off against the man he took the title from Nikolai Luzhin. And the 135lbs title will be won by either Benjamin Ruggiero or Dennis Burza

" Despite being 30 years old, I still get the pre fight jitters. I think it's a mixture of nervousness and excitement. Being able to represent Ireland in the sport of MMA is an honour for me, I know a lot of people from back home go crazy when I walk past them in the street, the support they've given me since I made my professional MMA debut on The Island Season 1 is amazing. I can't wait until I'm back in that cage and the fans are chanting my name.



I intend on being competitive during my time here at Umbrella Corporation, I'm not here just to make the numbers, I'm here because of my fighting ability and because both Igor and Michael believe I have the potential to do well here. I'm dreaming of winning that Middleweight title but my focus at this time is on my fight tomorrow night against James Bowie (5-1) who has the skill set to test me. I'm hoping I'll get off to the best possible start by winning my first fight and then who knows what might happen.."

Mr osullivan. I would like to continue our tradition of fighting on the island. Ogawa or whatever you guys name is. Vs either #6 p4p laranja 135 or my 1-0 fighter assfister also at 135.

So I want to take this opportunity to call out the winner of the Henry Rearden (7-2) vs Richard Exlax (7-9) fight on the 27th. I have Rearden as a strong favourite in this fight but if he loses, I know Exlax will be a worthy opponent for me. Both of these guys are ranked higher than me in the Umbrella Light Heavyweight rankings and so I want to change that. "

" I can't believe in this day and age, racism still exists in the world of MMA. I don't take kindly to people making racists remarks, I've heard monkey chants in arenas before when fighters like myself are fighting and it sickens me. I'm a big supporter of the all the groups who try to stop racism.

Despite Escobar's remarks, I want to try and what I said earlier a bit clearer.

1. Escobar is a Heavyweight

2. Escobar is not fighting in Umbrella Corporation

3. He is not in the Light Heavyweight division in Umbrella and so as a result I do not know what his ranking would be in the division if he was fighting here

4. I checked his worldwide p4p ranking and found out that he was over 200 places lower than me on it and that is why I'm not interested in the fight at this time

5. Both Exlax and Rearden are above me in the Light Heavyweight rankings in Umbrella Corporation, whoever wins that fight will go even higher in the rankings and so by fighting them, it gives me the opportunity to boost myself up the rankings.

Perhaps if Escobar spent more time in the gym than running his mouth, he might actually go on to achieve something in his MMA career. Clearly he should keep his mouth shut as it looks like he doesn't have the brains to keep himself out of trouble. "

It seems like you call out someone and expect to fight them. But when multiple people call you out you just come up with reasons not to fight. Cowardice if you ask me. I got a teammate name garfield sobers who has fought at shw lhw and mw. About to debut at 170 but I think you should fight him. Both close In rank plus hes smaller. This is a good opportunity for you to beat up a smaller guy and not be a coward. This is mma not boxing where managers try to set up big money can fights. Be a man.

 

As far as liam oconnor I wish castaway hadnt retired so he could beat the snot outta liam again. Remeber that great unbeaten streak he crushed and took your belt. Liam has no game. Hes a can. Clinch fails. No TDs. Its nice his chin is decent since he likes to get his ass whupped

Former Champions Return

Undefeated Aslak Aas whose title was stripped from him for inactivity, has re-surfaced. It is worth noting that he never actually lost his title and still holds an undefeated record. His teammate and former Umbrella 205lbs Champion, Iso Kaato, who also went missing and never dropped his belt has decided to come back to Umbrella.

Both are managed by Ville Coleman, who has decided to bring himself and his fighters out of hiding, is currently in talks with Igor about their first fights since returning. Will a title fight be in their near futures?
