Xtreme Combat 8 Summary written by Furious Styles

Hello ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages! Sorry, I was just watching the New – actually pretty old – Age Outlaws on WWE and just had to get that out.
This is your man on the scene, Furious Styles, and I bring to you another event summary of a truly exciting night of kickboxing action!

Xtreme Combat 8 took place in the every rowdy Hayashi’s Lounge where two thousand wild and rambunctious fight fans cheered, sneered, beered and veered! I know beered isn’t a word, but that’s slang for they drank a lot of beer so hey, work with me on it, okay?

We saw ten fights that were brutal, some of them quite fast, and the Welterweight Title was on the line as well! All right good people, settle in, get comfortable…and let’s get down to business!

Ahmed “Ahmo” Liva (3-0) of the Evolution Fight Clan and Sean Delaney (0-1) – now retired by the way - kicked off the night of action by representing the Middleweight division! This was a battle of the balds as both men entered the ring with freshly shaven heads that Mr. Clean himself would be proud of. From seeing the fighters before the bell rang, Liva seemed to be the more focused and ready fighter, and he proved everyone who felt that way correctly!

It was apparent from the beginning that Liva had trained well for this fight and in particular, his striking defense was on display. Delaney couldn't get a clean shot on Liva and in return, Liva made Delaney pay for those missed strikes with beautiful counter striking! Delaney got sloppy and Liva floored Delaney with a savage right uppercut! Delaney showed guts getting back to his feet by the eight count, but he definitely was hurting!

Liva could sense that Delaney was just about out on his feet so he took his time, measured him again for a counter strike, and unloaded a crushing right hand right on Delaney's nose that put him down for the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY!

Liva continued his winning ways and has now WON THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW! He's proving to be a force to be reckoned with in Xtreme Combat! Delaney retired after this loss but at only twenty five years old, there's a chance he'll feel better about himself and may very well return to the ring. If not, perhaps he has another job that he can rely upon until he makes that final decision about mixed martial arts.

The Light Heavyweight division was brought to the forefront between “Industrious” AG Pennypacker (1-0-1) of LEGION OF DOOM and JT Redman (2-0-1)! This is the type of fight all kickboxing fans like to see because it literally was a matter of perspective as to who did what better than the opponent. In the first round, Pennypacker was very solid in the clinch and a harmless looking left hook to Redman's right eye was enough to open up a cut.

Perhaps Redman's last name is fitting because if he gets cut from strikes lie that, he'll be seeing plenty of his own red blood, that's for sure!

However, Redman seemed to become more inspired after seeing his own crimson drip down the side of his face. In the second round, Pennypacker again locked in a very effective clinch and the frustration was becoming obvious on Redman's face. He wanted to change the course of the fight and did he ever! He too advantage of Pennypacker breaking the clinch, measured Pennypacker and light Pennypacker up with a sweet one-two combination that caught Pennypacker by surprise!

Credit goes to Pennypacker for getting himself together in time to beat the count, but he definitely knew he was in for a fight!

The final round was very difficult to judge because Pennypacker was quite aggressive, no doubt about that, but he wasn't effective in the clinch plus he was quite indecisive. He would lock in the clinch, then break it, then lock it in again, then break it. That indecision, along with Redman's defense and some controversy, led the judges to score this fight a DRAW!

I say there was controversy because Pennypacker was very effective early in the third round with his boxing, but perhaps the punches weren't damaging enough to sway the judges opinions.

AG Pennypacker will take the lessons learned from this fight and will see if he can earn the unquestioned victory when he battles Pilchard Grir on March 5th! Al Bundy will be the next opponent for Pennypacker and he too will see if he can be the clear and away winner in that battle on February 28th!

Je “Tornado” Tunaki (3-2) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE and Clark Clarkey (0-5) of LEGION OF DOOM continued the Light Heavyweight action with an entertaining battle that went the distance! From the moment the bell rang, both warriors landed some heavy, body-rocking strikes that made the crowd ooh and aah, while some cringed from the way the strikes looked when they hit!

Tunaki was the first to literally draw blood when he plastered Clarkey's forehead with a brutal left knee, causing a cut to open above Clarkey's right eye! Clarkey kept right on fighting and earned the respect of Tunaki and many others who were watching this fight. Tunaki set the tone big time in the second round when he really went to work on Clarkey!

Not only did he drop Clarkey to the mat with an explosive one-two-three punching combo that caused Clarkey's corner to cringe, but he also opened up that cut to the point where Clarkey looked like he was wearing a crimson mask!

Thanks to a blasting right head kick and yet another solid left knee onto the forehead, Clarkey looked like the victim in a horror movie, but the kid has a ton of heart and he kept right on fighting, fatigued, bleeding and obviously losing the fight! In the final round, it seemed the pain from the cut, as well as partially-blurred vision, caught up to Clarkey and distracted him from the task at hand.

After being punished in the clinch by Tunaki, he dropped his hands and let Tunaki have a clean shot at that open wound! Tunaki unloaded a slicing right hand that really caused the blood to pour out and Clarkey was definitely in big trouble!

Clarkey desperately held onto Tunaki in the clinch just to survive the fight but it was obvious that Tunaki had won by way of UNANIMOUS DECISION! The crowd gave both warriors a round of applause at the action they produced and the heart shown by Clarkey, along with the kickboxing skills that Tunaki displayed.

Tunaki fights his way back into the win column and anxiously awaits his next fight, that's for certain! Clarkey has a lot of heart because many fighters would be very discouraged at this point in their career and would probably call it quits. It remains to be seen if Clarkey continues his quest for that elusive first victory and I wish the young man the best of luck in trying to win that first one.

Rolling along in the Light Heavyweight division, the next battle occurred between Jake “The Mauler” Gustafsson (4-2) and Kazimeras “Ice Cold” Klasson (1-6) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE! I don't know if someone took a piss in Gustafsson's cereal that morning, or is someone posted a picture on Facebook that he didn't want the world to see, because he came into this fight with a very aggressive attitude and he rocked Klasson's world!

Gustafsson began throwing punches like they were cannon salvos and he just overwhelmed Klasson! Klasson didn't even get a chance to gather himself before he was picking himself up off the canvas after a booming right uppercut from Gustafsson had him kissing canvas!

Klasson got up quickly but had to take the eight count. After he was given the okay to continue, Gustafsson let loose with another torturous right uppercut that dazed Klasson, setting up the jab and devastating right cross from Gustafsson!

Klasson was out cold – perhaps even ice cold – before he even hit the canvas again! Sorry, I had to say it because he was knocked out cold and his nickname...oh never mind!
With that thirty second KNOCKOUT VICTORY,

Gustafsson SNAPPED A TWO FIGHT LOSING STREAK and will next face the very confident Jay Merel on February 28th! Klasson continued to struggle and has now LOST THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW! However, he has a chance to get off the snide when he steps into battle against Az Newto on February 28th!

Keeping the Light Heavyweight spirit alive, Chris Weiner (4-2) and Jiggy Jangston (2-1) of LEGION OF DOOM stepped through the ropes to do battle! This fight featured aggression, heavy hits, blood and brutality, the way it should be! Both warriors began aggressively and landed some big shots. One odd note that was passed to me while the fight occurred was Wiener's management team said he was working on takedowns for this fight.

Hmm, that's...different, but hey, to each their own! If it works, why fix it? It just seems a little odd to work on Takedowns when this is kickboxing, but whatever.
Jangston had his punching ability on display early, landing some clean jabs and crosses, and that seemed to push Weiner harder to counter with his own boxing skills.

Jangston cut Weiner open above his left eye after a series of beautiful jabs, foot movement, and a right hand-left hook combo that the crowd appreciated! Weiner saw the blood, cursed, and ripped into Jangston with a snapping right cross that took Jangston's feet right from under him!

Jangston managed to gather himself but Weiner paid him back for the cut and Jangston had a cut over his left eye from that solid right! Jangston went right back to work with his hands and again landed clean punches while avoiding damaging punches from Weiner. Since Jangston's punches weren't hurting Weiner, plus he saw his punches weren't landing the way he wanted them to, he reverted to using his educated feet and this turned out to be just what he needed!

A sneaky left head kick that Jangston didn't see coming shocked Jangston while dropping him to the canvas! Jangston again showed his toughness by picking himself up off the canvas and continuing the fight! He landed more technically sound punches but they just didn't have enough zip on them to slow Weiner. Jangston got tired, dropped his hands for a moment and Weiner struck like a snake catching its prey!

A crushing left hook to the right temple sent Jangston to the canvas again and he couldn't gather himself to get up that last time, giving Weiner the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY!

Weiner picked up his SECOND WIN IN A ROW and awaits word of who his next opponent will be! Jangston had his TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED, so he has to try and get jiggy with it – see what I did there with his first name and his entrance music? - when he battles Meyer Jordan on March 5th!

The Heavyweight’s stepped in to break the flow of the Light Heavyweight vibe that was established as Levi Jensen (5-0) of THE STEEL PENN ALLIANCE and Kurt “The Kickboxer” Sloane (0-1) of Tycoon Alliance brought the thunder! The blood flowed very early in this fight and both fighters had a knowing look on their faces that one of them would be kissing canvas by the end of the night!

Even though Sloane blocked a portion of Jensen's right kick, it still landed with enough speed and power to open a cut above Sloane's left eye.

In game of tit-for-tat, Sloane then took it upon himself to tag Jensen with a textbook one-two punch that cut Jensen above his left eye as well! After opening each other up with stinging strikes, the action then went a mile a minute, with both fighters landing and avoiding some damaging blows!

The crowd enjoyed every minute of the opening round and as it came to a close, both fighters nodded towards one another respectfully.

Jensen seemed to catch fire right as the second round began and was nothing short of a bundle of energy that proved too much for Sloane! Jensen kept constant pressure on Sloane then reverted to one of the old MMA tricks in the book! He looked low, Sloane looked for just a moment, then wham!

A right head kick leveled Sloane and he found himself on the wrong end of the referees count! He was able to get back to his feet before the ten count, but he was definitely stunned. Jensen moved right back in, landed a thudding leg kick that caused Sloane to lower his guard, then Jensen rifled his right hand to Sloane's jaw and down he went again!

This time it was too much for Sloane to get himself back up on his feet and the referee waved the fight off, giving the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY to Jensen!

Jensen pressed his win streak to FIVE WINS IN A ROW and next battles Itse Perkele for the Heavyweight Title, a fight that no one will want to miss! Those two excellent warriors will meet on Februay 28th! Sloane has as rough beginning to his mixed martial arts career, but he has many more fights left in him and will be back in the ring very soon I'm certain!

The Light Heavyweight’s came back into the limelight when Harry “Mistake” Blunder (1-1) and Ashwan “The Cannibal” Balrak (0-1) went toe-to-toe! In a nutshell, the entire fight was a man-to-man, who can take more punishment, standup war that everyone in attendance enjoyed! Both fighters demonstrated the ability to take a strong punch as well as dish one out.

For all three rounds, however, be it sticking and moving, or locked in a clinch, Blunder was just the better fighter, straight and to the point! Balrak showed a lot of heart and determination, no doubt about it, but Blunder was the more skilled fighter who was able to execute his game plan more concisely.

That concise game plan and execution of it earned him the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY and he also earned his first mixed martial arts career win so there's no doubt he's feeling good about himself these days! Balrak drops his first fight in his career but has a chance at redemption when he steps into the ring against Paul Ming on February 28th!

The Welterweight’s showed what they could do as the Welterweight Championship was on the line between Ossilus “Razorwire” Chiarmanda (5-1) of LEGION OF DOOM and Jerome Dupre (3-2) of LEGION OF DOOM locked horns! These two warriors went at each other tooth and nail and this proved to be an exciting and trying Welterweight defense for Chiarmanda!

The back-and-forth action began right away as soon as the bell rang with both fighters coming out aggressively. They tested one another and it was pretty much a stalemate until Chiarmanda locked in a clinch and was able to sneak a painful left elbow through Dupre’s guard, slicing open a gash over Dupre’s right eye!

Chiarmanda maintained the pressure in the clinch and it was too much for Dupre to overcome, but he was able to prevent any further damage to that eye.

It was much the same in the second round with Chiarmanda proving to be too much for Dupre. Dupre was able to land strikes sporadically but he just couldn’t keep Chiarmanda’s clinch away and that proved to be costly. Chiarmanda showed excellent conditioning by maintaining a high level of energy output while in the clinch and he easily scored the points on the judges’ cards.

Going into the third round, Dupre knew his only chance was to drop Chiarmanda for the count!

Chiarmanda knew this as well and he moved around with a nice display of footwork and agility, keeping Dupre off balance. Chiarmanda then found the opening he was working for and he launched an unexpected left cross right into Dupre’s nose, stunning him! Dupre did his best to keep Chiarmanda at bay, landing a body shot, but it had nothing on it and Chiarmanda knew he needed one more shot to finish it!

A ring-rocking right hook to Dupre’s left temple was the finishing touch that was needed! Chiarmanda earned the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY after that crushing blow!

Chiarmanda not only retains the Welterweight title but he EXTENDS HIS WIN STREAK TO FIVE! Whoever he battles next will know that they have to fight at their very best to dethrone the impressive Chiarmanda! Dupre has his TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED so he’ll look to get back that winning feeling against his next opponent!

The final Light Heavyweight battle on the card placed Al Bundy (1-0) of LEGION OF DOOM and Paul “9mm” Ming (2-1) of the Swedish Fighters Alliance in the ring of truth! Maybe Bundy was pumped up from intimacies with Peg, assuming he’s a devout follower of Married With Children, or maybe he had some five hour energy! Either way, Bundy was all over Ming in this contest and Ming looked completely surprised by Bundy and his aggression!

Ming wasn’t even able to land a clean shot against Bundy, and that’s never a good sign for an experienced fighter like Ming! He is known to be very strong, but strength means nothing if you can’t hit anything with it, and that proved to be the case here. Bundy setup the finishing head kick with a rib-bruising right kick that took the air out of Ming!

After that, Ming dropped his guard and allowed Bundy to land the finishing left head kick right to the dome, earning the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY!

Bundy wins his MMA debut in impressive fashion and he may very well be a fighter to be on the lookout for! JT Redman will be the next test for this young fighter on February 28th, so watch for that battle. Ming had his TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED, and maybe even a neck bone or two after taking that brutal right head kick! He has the opportunity for redemption on February 28th against Ashwan Balrak.

And last but not least, the Heavyweight’s wrapped up the night of action as Sakim “Big Buakaw” Bodinecha (1-0) of The Legion of Pain – LOP in the house baby! – and Sam Makatua (1-2) confronted one another! In a nutshell, the fight went like this: Bodinecha locked in a clinch, he let both elbows slice and dice Makatua’s forehead like a Ninja blender that you see on late night television, and Makatua bled like a stuck hog until the referee decided he lost enough blood to donate some at the fire station nearby!

Bodinecha earned the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY and began his kickboxing career on the good foot with this victory and next steps into battle against Jamie Walker on February 28th! At the time of this fight, Makatua was 1-1 after this loss to Bodinecha and the results of his battle on February 21st will be discussed at a later time!

All right good people, that’s the conclusion of the events that occurred on Xtreme Combat 8! As always I appreciate you taking the time to join me for this review and I’ll be coming back at you in the nearby future to discuss the events that occurred on February 21st, known as Arn vs. Boomer! Take care, be well…and I’ll see you at the next fights!

Xtreme Combat: Giacomo vs. Codin Summary written by Furious Styles

Greetings ladies and gentlemen, I hope all of you are well! This is Furious Styles at Hayashi’s Lounge, the scene of Xtreme Combat: Giacomo vs. Codin, where the fireworks of the fights have concluded and the two thousand fans who let their voices be heard! This was another night of action-packed kickboxing that was capped with two championship fights, one of which was the headliner, Giacomo Benvenuti against Codin Viperescu! Naturally I was excited and even more nervous because Giacomo is one of the fighters I manage and no matter how confident I am in their abilities, one can never tell what will happen! As a reporter I know I’m supposed to be fair, but how can I not root for fighters I manage? It does make for a night of nerves though, no doubt about it. Well, as always…let’s get down to business!

The Middleweights kicked off the night of action as Dory Raly (1-1) of The Gentlemanly Scholars and “The Dark Horse” Mikael Heikkinen (2-1) stepped into the ring to do battle! It seemed to me that Raly caught Heikkinen off guard with his kickboxing ability because Heikkinen was a step slow in general and it cost him! In the first round, Raly was the faster and more accurate fighter. Heikkinen had his moments where he displayed improved striking defense and even dropped Raly with a very explosive leg kick, but Raly looked like he bounced right off the mat and back to his feet!

Raly slowed Heikkinen down with technically sound body kicks that took their toll on Heikkinen’s sails and once he slowed down, Raly locked in a clinch that Heikkinen just couldn’t handle overall. Raly landed accurate strikes to end the round and his corner told him to do much of the same in the second round. He did exactly that, locking in a clinch early, and he workd Heikkinen with volume strikes and activity, finally stunning him with a shocking left hook that really hurt Heikkinen! Prior to that, it was apparent that Heikkinen felt himself fading and he did his best to land punishing blows but it just didn’t happen.

Raly got a bit overexcited and somewhat sloppy, but he hit enough punches once he settled back down that lead to Heikkinen leaving his defense open after a hard right hand to the body for a nasty right uppercut! Raly took advantage of the opening and down went Heikkinen! The referee gave Heikkinen opportunity to get back to his feet but called off the fight when he saw Heikkinen’s condition. Raly earned the TECHNICALY KNOCKOUT VICTORY and happily thanked his fans!

Raly picked up his first career KT victory and by the way he looked, he was definitely happy about that result! Heikkinen had his TWO FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED and also decided to part with his management team. He currently waits to see if another manager will take a chance on him. At 19 years old, he has plenty of time to develop into a sound fighter with the right guidance.

The next battle was for the Super Heavyweight Championship, and that’s when my nerves began to rise. Giacomo was much calmer but I knew he would be. I’ve hardly ever seen him rattled and even when so-called rattled, he’s as calm as any fighter I’ve seen. Giacomo “The Cleaner” Benvenuti (4-0) of the Legion of Pain, and Codin Viperescu (8-2) of Murder Inc. set the place ablaze with intensity, hard hits, blood and determination!

Viperescu had won SIX FIGHTS IN A ROW at one point in his career, and had won all of his battles in the first round, some of them in a mere five seconds! Needless to say, this large powerhouse was definitely worthy of the Super Heavyweight Title! Giacomo knew he had to push himself to his absolute limits to overcome the mammoth-sized Viperescu, and on that night, he would do exactly that!

Giacomo and Viper went at one another like two lions battling for dominance and the crowd loved it! For the first time in his career, not only did Giacomo get hit, but he also got cut! It seemed to me that Giacomo pulled a dramatic “movie” moment because he saw the blood on his glove, his eyes got wide, and then he went off!

Giacomo locked Viper into a clinch very early and absolutely pummeled the big man with very hard hits, some of them seemingly cracking bone each time! Viperescu showed his power by cutting Giacomo because the punches were from a short distance and didn’t seem to be his strongest effort, but it did the trick. Giacomo, playing a bit of tit-for-tat perhaps, opened up a cut above Viperescu’s left eye to match the one Viperescu gave him.

However, the difference between the two is Giacomo kept blasting brutal right crosses and hooks onto that cut and opened it up into a steady crimson flow! There was no doubt that Viperescu not only had trouble seeing, but the big man was hurting badly from the rib-punishing, head snapping punches that Giacomo was landing! Giacomo even threw in a nasty shoulder strike and a wind-sucking right knee to Viperescu’s gut for good measure! There were a couple of points in time where Giacomo and Codin were pressed against the ropes close to audience members, Giacomo landed a shot or two that sprayed blood on some fans, and they celebrated being blood splattered! Where do we find these fans!?

Eventually Giacomo was able to get through Viperescu’s defenses enough to land a jaw-snapping right uppercut that floored the big man and caused the referee to call the fight! Giacomo became the NEW SUPER HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION by way of TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT! Giacomo showed a great deal of respect to Viperescu by raising his right hand for the crowd to show their appreciation, then Giacomo paid homage to his new alliance, the Legion of Pain, and soaked in the cheers of the crowd! It was a very proud moment for me as his manager, that’s for certain!

The Light Heavyweight’s stepped into the ring of judgment after that, featuring Norman “Storming” Trapp (3-0) of LEGION OF DOOM against Slime Ball (1-2), also of LEGION OF DOOM! Bragging rights within the same Alliance were a secondary circumstance on the line between these two and that definitely provided motivation for both young fighters!

One great aspect of inter-Alliance battles is that they always prove to be interesting. This fight was definitely a chess game as both fighters would fight in spurts, then opt to rest and try to control the opponent. The crowd didn’t like that too much but hey, sometimes that’s the way it goes. However, the crowd forgave them as soon as blood was spilled! I can’t say that’s a big surprise now can I?

After a lot of back-and-forth missing and plenty of energy, Trapp was able to sneak a brain-rattling right hook around Slime’s guard and sliced his left eye open, despite the punch not having much distance on it, a tribute to Trapp’s strength! Aside from that clean shot, both fighters equally struggled to control the fight in the clinch and land effective knees, elbows and punches. However, the cut gave the nod to Trapp on the judges’ cards and moved him ahead in this fight.

The second and third rounds were very similar in approach and in the amount of action. Both fighters definitely packed themselves and looked for accurate strikes as opposed to swinging for the fences. Since both fighters were locked in the clinch while trying to be accurate, it became a difficult fight to judge and the crowd became restless as well because, no surprise, they wanted to see more damaging blows and of course, more blood.

Due to the difficulty in judging, an argument could be made either way because both fighters had their moments, no doubt. Personally I think Trapp earned the SPLIT DECISION VICTORY due to his overall work and the cut he gave Slime. Slime was obviously disappointed and the crowd chanted, “Rematch! Rematch!” Hopefully the match maker in Xtreme Combat will do exactly that so these two can decide a clear cut winner!

Norman keeps stormin’ and has now WON THREE FIGHTS IN A ROW, making his presence felt in the Light Heavyweight division! Slime Ball has now LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW so he’ll be working to break that losing streak as soon as possible!

Keeping the focus on the Light Heavyweight division, Jay Merel (4-1) of LEGION OF DOOM and Jake “The Mauler” Gustafsson (4-3) stepped into the ring to lock horns! Now Merel is a very confident fighter and some fighters think he talks too much, but I say this. If the young man can back it up, he can say whatever he likes. If you don’t like it then close his mouth for him, plain and simple.

Quite honestly folks, this fight was very one-sided and Merel was just too good for Gustafsson. Merel’s speed, accuracy, and defensive ability, especially in the clinch, was too much for Gustafsson to handle. Merel even toyed with Gustafsson a bit by breaking the clinch, landing some painful punches and snapping kicks, then going back into the clinch to further frustrate Gustafsson.

The crowd enjoyed this fight because Merel was relentless with his energy and punishing strikes, so they were definitely not disappointed that no blood was spilled, but perhaps Merel was. He has proven to be a strong adversary and the Light Heavyweight division should take notice of him as well!

Merel continues his climb in the Light Heavyweight division and has now WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW! That was also the second time he defeated Gustafsson. Shortly after this loss, Gustafsson announced that he was leaving his management team to try his hand at possibly signing with another manager. Best of luck to you Mr. Gustafsson.

The Heavyweight title was on the line between Levi Jensen (6-0) of The Steel Penn Alliance and Itse Perkele (4-1) of the FinnFighters! From the beginning bell, Jensen just looked to be the more prepared fighter, and I have no doubt that was also combined with his large determination to win! Both warriors displayed excellent techniques, educated hands, strong kicks, and in-ring smarts as well!

Jensen was locked in early and remained that way the entire fight, but the crowd was treated to a beautiful display of kickboxing, as both fighters landed thunderous kicks, bone-crunching, body thudding punches, and showed great movement and positioning as well! The most devastating punch of the night in my opinion belonged to Perkele in the third round. He setup Jensen beautifully and unloaded a brutal left uppercut that cut Jensen on the bridge of his nose! However, Jensen shook it off very quickly and finished that round just as strongly as he had the first two!

Even being cut with that uppercut, Jensen dominated the rest of that round as well as the rest of the fight, and he opened plenty of eyes in the Heavyweight division with him becoming the NEWLY CROWNED HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION by way of UNANIMOUS DECISION!

Jensen continues rolling right along and has now WON SIX FIGHTS IN A ROW! He is definitely a worthy Heavyweight Champion and everyone he battles will surely know they’ve been in a fight with him! Perkele had a FOUR FIGHT WIN STREAK SNAPPED but I have no doubt he’ll be right back in the Heavyweight Title scene!

The Heavyweights continued the explosive action when Jamie “Pretty Boy” Walker (3-2) of LEGION OF DOOM – LOD well represented that night I noticed – and Sakim “Big Buakaw” Bodindecha (1-1) of The Legion of Pain – LOP in the house! – stood across the ring from one another! It was evident from the start that Walker was one step ahead of Bodindecha the entire fight and keeping Bodindecha off balance is what enabled Walker to earn the victory in this battle!

Walker’s boxing skills truly dictated this fight and kept Bodindecha at bay the entire fight! Bodindecha was so hell bent on trying to lock in a clinch that his defense slipped, enabling Walker to land stinging punch after stinging punch, plus some knee-buckling, thigh-bruising kicks. Once Bodindecha locked in a clinch, he was worn down, breathing heavily, and ineffective. He was able to block some of the strikes from Walker, so credit goes to him for that, but overall it was just an overwhelmed Bodindecha who was on the worst end of the clinch!

Walker had enough of the clinch, pushed Bodindecha back, and let his fists fly, landing a variation of punches before landing a cheek-flapping left hook that cut Bodindecha above his right eye! That cut stung him badly and Walker timed a lightning right hand that dropped Bodindecha to the canvas! The referee looked at Bodindecha as he struggled to his feet and called off the fight, giving the TECHNICAL KNOCKOUT VICTORY to Walker!

Walker made himself look pretty in this fight for certain with a first round TKO, undeniably. However, I venture to guess that Bodindecha was a bit distracted by the bright colors Walker wore for the fight. That’s a seriously bright blue-green combination there man! I’m just sayin’. I have to ask Sakim, as a fellow LOP member, exactly what “Buakaw” means because that sounds like a sound someone makes when describing a slam dunk or something like that. Bodindecha finds himself in the loss column and definitely doesn’t want to spend a lot of time there.

Returning to the Light Heavyweight division, Paul “9mm” Ming (3-1) of the Swedish Fighters Alliance and Ashwan “The Cannibal” Balrak (0-2) went toe-to-toe to represent! This fight should have been called “The Clinchathon” or maybe “Clinchaholics” because these two spent more time in the clinch than anything else, but hey, if it works then why change it?

Unfortunately for Balrak, it didn’t work well for him at all. In the first round, Balrak did his best to lock Ming into a clinch, and while he did that, Ming tagged him with solid punches, punishing kicks, and also displayed very nice takedown defensive skills while scoring points on the judges’ cards. Once Balrak was able to get a hold of Ming, he wasn’t able to do much at all because of Ming’s defensive skills. Balrak was able to avoid any serious damage by Ming, but he just wasn’t able to do much of anything else.

The second and third rounds were very similar with Ming dominating the action with his abilities, skills, and smarts. He locked Balrak into a clinch, took advantage of that situation to score points, then broke the clinch to land some other strikes, keeping Balrak at bay, then would go back into the clinch to land more strikes then break the clinch, only to re-clinch. Did I say they clinched a lot?

The crowd respected the energy level both warriors put into the fight but there was a smattering of boos as, naturally, they wanted to see more damage and blood. Either way, Ming definitely dominated the fight from all perspectives and thus, earned the UNANIMOUS DECISION VICTORY!

Ming fights his way back into the win column after his victory and will look to continue building from that momentum. Balrak has struggled early in his career but has time to turn things around if he focuses his training and maybe consults with some veteran fighters who can assist him during sparring sessions. One piece of advice for the “Cannibal”: It’s okay to call yourself a cannibal, but make sure you’re not eating fists and kicks son, it’s definitely not good for you! Just sayin’.

The Light Heavyweights took center stage once again as Al Bundy (2-0) of LEGION OF DOOM – sans Peggy, at least for this fight, and JT Redman (2-1-1) squared off! This fight began with tremendous action and a high output of energy, which the crowd ate up and asked for more! Both men displayed excellent speed, agility, and quite a game of cat-and-mouse as they landed various strikes while moving in and out of range. Bundy caught Redman with a nasty right uppercut that sliced Bundy on the bridge of his nose, leaving no doubt who won the first round!

Bundy’s corner urged him to press the action even more and go for the stoppage and Bundy was thrilled by that advice! Bundy went to work on Redman’s body with punches and kicks that made Redman grunt in pain and loss of oxygen, slowing him down. Redman also got sloppy with his strikes and boy did he pay for it! He tried to rush Bundy and boom, good night Irene! Bundy timed a right counter head kick perfectly and Redman was in la-la land before he even hit the canvas! That brutal kick gave Bundy the KNOCKOUT VICTORY and boy was he thrilled! The crowd loved it too so hey, why not be ecstatic?

Bundy stretched his win streak to TWO WINS IN A ROW and looks to position himself as a challenger for the Light Heavyweight Title! Redman tastes defeat for the first time and by the look on his face, he definitely didn’t like it! Of course, I don’t know any fighter who likes to lose, especially a cocky and arrogant one, but hey, sometimes that’s just the way it is.

The Lightweights stepped through the ropes of confrontation and it went down between Tyler Thompson (2-0) of Cold Blooded Killers and the man with perhaps too many names, Luis Fernando “Raw Machine” Rodrigues De Santos (0-2)! Thompson made this one elementary by displaying superior Muay Thai skills, especially in the clinch! Thompson made sure he landed a painful left cross before locking in a clinch, and despite De Santos wanting to clinch, after being in it with Thompson for a few moments, he realized that he didn’t want to be in that position!

Thompson landed knees and punches that obviously damaged De Santos and slowed him down dramatically! Thompson opened up a gash over De Santos’ left eye with a eye-socket-crunching right knee! That set the tone for the rest of the match as Thompson landed sporadic but damaging punches and knees. Thomson eventually broke the clinch, blasted De Santos with a huge left uppercut that De Santos got wobbled by, then he dropped De Santos like a fake lawsuit with a crushing left head kick that sprawled De Santos on the canvas like he was hit with a hammer!

Thompson earned the KNOCKOUT VICTORY and maintained his perfect kickboxing record and has now WON TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW! Perhaps the “Raw Machine” better take some time to get polish and refinement before stepping back into the ring because thus far, he has LOST TWO FIGHTS IN A ROW and that’s not good for the young man. He’s only twenty-one years old so there’s plenty of time to get it together.

Closing out the night’s events were Az “The Kid” Newto (1-6) and Kazimeras “Ice Cold” Klasson (1-7) of the Steel Penn Alliance in the Light Heavyweight division! The crowd was the most rowdy for this fight because they wanted to finally see Newto win his first kickboxing match! Maybe it was the crowd urging him on – or were they jeering? – and the rest of it was perhaps a lackadaisical approach made by Klasson!

The first two rounds looked like Ming and Balrak part two, because it was another fight featuring a whole lot of clinching! However, the crowd was so worked up – and quite honestly they were liquored up as well – that they didn’t make any comments about the clinching. Klasson seemed to be the more effective fighter in the clinch during the first two rounds, but it was difficult to say because both fighters were evenly matched and it was apparent that the judges were having a very difficult time scoring the fight.

Going into the third round, Newto’s corner slapped him on the back of the head and told him to just go balls to the wall and finish the fight! Newto got a gleam in his eye and fans close to his corner yelled for him to just go kamikaze! Newto changed the pace of the fight with nicely timed counter-attacks that threw Klasson off of his game and that opened the door that Newto needed!

Newto worked diligently to get inside Klasson’s guard and wanted to land the one shot that would change the course of the fight. Newto did just that and wham, a booming left cross from seemingly nowhere floored Klasson and brought a huge roar from the crowd! Klasson wobbled but got back to his feet and Newto saw that he hurt Klasson and cut him above his right eye! Newto went for the kill and he rocked Klasson’s world with two very nasty right crosses, the second one sending Klasson’s mouthpiece into the crowd! Damn that was some unexpected power! The crowd went ballistic as Newto ran around the ring very excitedly, earning his first victory! Newto earns the KNOCKOUT VICTORY and I heard he partied down that night!

Now I’ll just say it here folks: Klasson should be downright embarrassed by this loss! No disrespect to Newto because the kid has heart, but losing to someone who was zero and six!? That’s just downright embarrassing any way you cut it! Hell, to take it even further, losing to either one of these young fighters is embarrassing because, for whatever reason, they’re just not doing well for themselves, despite being at excellent gyms. Something is amiss but that’s for their management teams to figure out. I just report the information I’m given and what I see.

Well there you have it ladies and gents! I appreciate you taking the time to join me for this summary and as always, I’m grateful you chose to allow me to share my perspective of Xtreme Combat kickboxing events, and I hope you join me for the next event summary. In the meantime, I know there are a good number of managers concerned with the lack of communication lately from the Board of Directors of Xtreme Combat. As soon as anyone hears from them, please let the other managers know so people can rest their concerns.

Take care, be well, and I’ll see you at the next fights!

Well ladies and gents, it seems the rumors of Xtreme Combat closing are true, unfortunately. Aaron will be going inactive and thus, Xtreme will be closing. I have already relinquished my duties as the event writer. It has been a pleasure writing for this organization and even more of a pleasure seeing all of the great fighters and managers work their craft here. Many of you are very talented, both with how you handle your fighters, as well as the smack talk lol It's unfortunate that this great KT org has to close but Aaron is addressing real life business that takes a lot of his time, and he's a dedicated man, which I respect greatly. Perhaps he'll reopen Xtreme in the future and I for one certainly hope that's the case. Either way, I know I'll be seeing many of you in other KT orgs and MMA orgs, so I wish all of you the very best. I'll stay subscribed to this page until the closing is official and complete if any of you want to add anything.

Take care, be well and I hope to see many of you elsewhere very soon :-)

Shame to hear this org is closing, it really was a good org. Great org, great writers and some great smack talk.

Best of luck to Aaron in his new ventures.

YellaDragon, did you speak to him? I don't suppose you know whether he is going to release the fighters or whether we will have to wait for the inactivity clauses?

Thank you for the writing props StuMackyntre, I truly appreciate that. I've not heard from Aaron directly. I'm receiving my information through ScoobySkyline3.

Hindenpeter, there's a KT organization in LA that I'm trying to see if the owner is looking for KT fighters. If not then I'm right there with you for having to train my fighters up until they can compete in those KT's. I'll probably make Giacomo a MMA fighter because I started him off with a good amount of Takedown Defense so at least he has a leg up there. He still needs to learn how to kick though lol

but its MMA and KT in LA so doubtful if one gets to fight for the belt in KT and my guy can not fight MMA, he'll die

i'm pondering if in two or three month maybe my guy is ready for EFFA or Dynasty - rather EFFA i think - but i'll have to get him up a 14 or so in primary KT-skills - top dogs are around 14/15 there - guy fighting for the title is double 15 - so i'll see - maybe one can have 2 or 3 KT fights in LA - tell us what you have found out

prob no one wants to take over... there is always orgs on the market: three or so right now, i think

You raise a good point about the champs and top contenders in those KT's having Elite++ skills for stand up. That will take some time and focus, definitely, and I have yet to hear from the owner of the LA KT organization, so I'm not sure what to say about that. If and when he replies then I'll let you know. In the meantime keep up the training and hopefully I'll have more information sooner than later. There are indeed organizations on the market quite often, but it seems to be even between gyms, clothing and nutrition companies as well. Sometiems I'm surprised that the more established companies are on the market, but that's probably due to them wanting to begin a different type of business or perhaps they've gotten tired of operating a company.

Gentlemen, I may have found a KT organization for our fighters. It's a fledgling organization in Rio De Janeiro named

K1LL - K1 Legendary League.

I just sent a message to the owner to see if he would be interested in Pakon. I think I'm going to move Giacomo into MMA action after a bit more training. He may be the last Super Heavyweight champion of Xtreme K1 Combat, for a while at least. If someone takes over then I'd have to weigh if I'd want Giacomo to return to K1 action.

Well gentlemen, I heard from the KT org in LA, and he too is accepting fighters. I'll put Pakon in that org instead because it's more established and has had a good number of events already.

Thank you very much Bwang, I greatly appreciate the compliments about my write-ups. If you are a part of GAMMA at all then I'll write about one of your fighters :-)

Bwang, I'll do my best to continue making victories as exciting as possible via words. Maybe I'll have a chance to write about a battle between our fighters in GAMMA in the near future

Castor: Have you contacted the KT organization in Los Angeles?

I'm with you on that Castor. I definitely need to train Pakon to be a more effective KT fighter. I think I'll just keep Francois as a sparring partner because he's 40 and I don't see much fight in him left really. I'm still on the fence about Giacomo because he has been solid thus far as a punching KT fighter.
