(Participant of The Island Season 2. Former MMA and KT Fighter.

Owner of Sully's Bar & Grill on The Island)

Hello everyone!!! Round 4 of ITFL 5 is around the corner so once again you can hear my thoughts on my team!

We didn't do too well last round going 1-4 against the always strong Vendetta team. We hope to turn things around against The Dong Squad The Undateables!.

How will we do? Well, you are about to see how i think we can do on the latest episode of:

http://i.imgur.com/yPwBr4L.png

This week Sully's Regulars will be fighting in London at ITFL 4.2.

John Swanson v Rio Yaj

Neither men have yet to register a win for their respective team in ITFL competition and on paper it looks like Swanson should easily steamroll through Raj. Swanson's last 2 losses came via cut and i am hearing rumours that his cut has yet to fully heal going into this fight. Will this play a factor?

Sully's Prediction: Someone will be registering their first win for their team in this tournament. I feel that despite the cut not healed, Swanson is the tougher fighter and this will be enough and once the adrenaline hits he won't even feel the pain. Swanson via KO in round 2.

Danny "Cyclone" Ciprianni v Neil Gilas

Gilas is on the back end of a 3 fight losing streak while Cyclone suffered his first defeat in ITFL competition last week. This should light up a fire and i feel sorry for Gilas who will feel the brunt of Cyclone's fury as he bounces back to regain his momentum.

Sully's Prediction: Ciprianni to destroy Gilas early in the first round. Hey, just make it quick and painless as possible, ok?

Alpa Chino v "Lucky" Liam McGuiness

Chino comes in as a replacement for The Undateables, saving Demetri Puleveski from his fourth consecutive KO. Liam has not yet won a fight this tournament, and will he live up to his nickname this round? Despite the replacement, i feel that Liam can earn his team a win while making Chino regret agreeing to enter this tournament.

Sully's Prediction: Lucky Liam to turn his luck around and welcome Chino to the tournament with a KO.

Johan "Bloody Hailstorm" Attila v Russell "Stringer" Bell

I have no idea how Bell got sanctioned to enter this tournament, but he is an adult so he has made his choice. After losing his MMA debut at age 18, Bell returns to action 8 (tycoon) years later in this tournament. Is he crazy????

Sully's Prediction: I see no way this can end well for Bell. Attila will light him up on his feet and if he feels like it he can finish it on the ground. See what he feels like doing on the night.

And that my friends is my thoughts on Team Sully's Regulars for this round of ITFL!

That's it for The Sully Show for now!

Until next time,

Train hard :training2:

Fight hard :boxing:

Play hard :drunk:

And of course,

Stay Classy

Hello and welcome to another episode of MMA FanZone. I’m your host Jack Russell and this week I am joined once again by Johnson Schmid and Renato Silvia. We continue our coverage of ITFL season 5 and this week it’s Sully’s Regulars vs. The Dong Squad, The Charles Grace All Stars vs. Team Conquer and Team Icon vs. Vendetta.

The first part of our show we will be delving into the ins and outs of Sully’s vs. The Dong Squad. The two current weakest teams, both will be wanting to avoid a loss to not be the lowest ranked team. The fights between them are John Swanson vs Rio Yaj, Bruno Aires vs. O Shea Jackson, Alpa Chino vs. Liam McGuiness, Danny Ciprianni vs Neil Gilas and Johan Attila vs. Russell Bell. Let’s start off with the first announced fight, John Swanson vs. Rio Yaj. Both are currently 0-3, both also have 2 opponents in common as they both fought and lost to Edward Blake and Jermaine Wright. Swanson is a wrestler by trade, he has worked to improve his stand up but his bread and butter is his top game. Yaj meanwhile is an all rounder but he hasn’t really shown to be a specialist in any one area.

Johnson Schmid: I can’t say I’m too interested in this fight, as you mentioned neither have yet to win a fight in the ITFL and neither have been particularly electrifying. Swanson was able to give Duane Perry trouble on the mat and just lost in the last round after the doctor called it off. His next fight he was schooled on the feet, and when he did get the takedown vs Razor he was sweeped and stopped once again due to the doctor intervention. Yaj meanwhile has been worse, he’s been quickly submitted, quickly KOed and beaten up for a round before being KOed in his fights. I think Swanson will take this fairly easily.

Renato Silvia: Yaj may pull something out of the bag, but from what we’ve seen so far, if Swanson comes prepared, I think he will wash over Yaj in dominating fashion.

JR: The next fight on the list is O Shea Jackson vs. Bruno Aires. Jackson won his first bout in ITFL in his last match up with a quick KO win, whilst Aires is also 1-2 as he won his first fight but has lost his subsequent two via KO. Renato let’s get your thoughts on this fight.

RS: Jackson showed he is no pushover, but his opponent wasn’t the strongest. He is a good technical fighter but he doesn’t have the chin or heart to compete with the top dogs. Aires isn’t a top dog but stylistically he is a bad fight for him. Aires is a ground specialist with good ground and pound, good submission defence and offence. If he can avoid Jackson’s power and get this to the mat he should end it early.

JS: If they stand toe to toe one of them will drop, neither are blessed with solid chins. If it goes to the mat then Aires will dominate, that’s the one area that I give him full advantage. If he has done his scouting then he will know that too and take this to the mat.

JR: Up next we have Alpa Chino taking on Liam McGuiness. Chino is The Dong Squad’s replacement for this season, he will be looking to do better than his predecessor, Pulevski. McGuiness has struggled a lot, being finished in all 3 of his fights. His chin doesn’t look like it holds up well any more and his own striking just isn’t cutting it.

JS: Chino is young and eager but he also hasn’t really fought top competition, he is 3-4 in his career over pretty mediocre competition. Nothing is telling me he is ready for an opponent of McGuiness’ experience just yet.

RS: Chino might be able to pull off the upset, McGuiness isn’t great but his experience, power and boxing acumen should be enough to get him a victory here.

JR: The 4th fight between these teams is Danny Ciprianni vs. Neil Gilas. Ciprianni has had an impressive start, going 2-1. His two wins over decent competition. Meanwhile Gilas has struggled a lot, losing all 3 of his fights and he was KOed for the first time in his last fight and things aren’t looking up for him just yet.

RS: This fight will go to the ground at some point in 3 rounds, neither fighter has the finishing ability to end this fight in my opinion. On the mat, I believe Ciprianni is the more technical with his transitions, Gilas is almost purely a wrestler and he looks like a fish out of water on his back. Ciprianni for the UD.

JS: Gilas might be able to grind this one out from the top, he will have to be patient and not get over zealous on the ground and get reversed. Bu Ciprianni has also shown top tier wrestling and also ju jitsu, he will get the job done I feel.

JR: The final fight between these two teams is Johan Attila vs. Russell Bell. Attila is 1-2 so far but he is still considered one of the strongest on the team as his only losses have been to two top tier fighters. Bell meanwhile is also 1-2 also losing to good fighters but he hasn’t really shown much in the way of skills in those losses, tough maybe but just not up to par with the rest.

RS: Attila, when he gets going he’s a steamroller. He has powerful punches, powerful takedowns and a devastating top game. Bell is going to have to be extremely careful to avoid the power Attila has.

JS: Bell is a crafty fighter, I think he hasn’t really got to showcase his skill set to the full extent yet. Attila has some of the best skills in the tournament but he has been known to be out struck and stopped at times. That said I think Attila will avoid Bell’s damaging strikes and get the finish win himself.

JR: That’s all we have time for with part 1. Join us on part 2 where we will be discussing and analysing The Charles Grace All Stars vs. Team Conquer.

JR: Welcome to part 2, we will be previewing The Charles Grace All Stars vs. Team Conquer. The All Stars have not lived up to their potential so far. Considered early favourites, they have only managed one win, the other two they have been dominated in. Team Conquer meanwhile have once again smashed an early lead winning two of their ties 5-0. The matches for this week is Matt Kroblur vs. Kai Kha, Thomas Rutherford vs. George Pedro, Bryer Michael vs. Edward Blake, Edward Stoker vs. Brock Rumlow and Duane Perry vs. Bruce Brady. On paper they are very close matchups, let’s start off with Matt Kroblur vs. Kai Kha. Kroblur is 1-2, with a huge upset last round against Steel Penn whilst Kha is 3-0 with 3 1st round KO’s.

JS: Kha has been on fire lately, but if you look at the opponents he has fought then you question that 3-0, all of them have been extremely chinny fighters. Kroblur may not be the best out there, but he is not chinny. He is a tough as nails wrestler, who may struggle when the fight is standing. His last fight, I’m willing to bet he underestimated his opponent and paid the price for it.

RS: I think Kroblur may stop Kha’s streak here. Kha is an excellent striker by all accounts, but he hasn’t fought a true grappler yet. Kroblur has been at it much longer than Kha and over 3 rounds opportunities will present themselves for Matt to take this to the floor and grind it out.

JR: The next fight is Thomas Rutherford vs. George Pedro, in what looks to be a total mismatch and easy win for Pedro. Rutherford is 1-2, being finished in both his losses. Pedro is 3-0 and has taken out each opponent in impressive fashion.

JS: Pedro will come out angry as he always does, angry and aggressive. But even more so angry because Rutherford’s brother, Steven, beat Pedro just before he entered ITFL. Pedro is a great wrestler/boxer with mean power. Rutherford look to be a good striker, but I doubt he is ready for a fighter of Pedro’s talents.

RS: Pedro is the best fighter in this tournament and he will sweep over Rutherford and leave him bleeding on the mat.

JR: The 3rd fight is Bryer Michael vs. Edward Blake. Michael picked up his first win last round, scoring an impressive 1st round KO, in his two fights before that he showed huge weakness on the ground against strong wrestlers. Blake is 3-0, and picked up his first stoppage win last time out.

RS: I expect a striking war, neither are good wrestlers both like to bang. Michael has shown he has good power in his hands and good technique but he will be facing one of the toughest strikers in ITFL in Blake. Blake might not have the best power but his overall striking capability and technique is amongst the best we’ve seen so far.

JS: This is one of those fights where the level of the fighters will be a big difference, I just feel Blake is the stronger fighter and will push Michael around for all 3 rounds for a comfortable decision win.

JR: Next up we have two of the stronger fighters in the tournament as Edward Stoker takes on Brock Rumlow. Stoker, whilst his form of late is woeful, is still one of the better fighters in my opinion. He comes from a good camp and has shown he is a good fighter in his earlier fights, many felt a draw in his last fight was the wrong call. Rumlow meanwhile continues to live up to his potential at 3-0 with two finishes, concerns about his injury still lingers and whether or not he will be fully healed in time for his fight.

JS: Aww man, I’m very excited for this fight. Two of the top fighters in the tournament duking it out, the odds favour Rumlow as he is in form and Stoker has been struggling. Rumlow is the top dog at the moment and the man to beat but he should not overlook Stoker as Stoker has power to hurt Rumlow if he gets sloppy.

RS: I’m willing to write off Stoker now, he hasn’t impressed in any of his fights. He has by far been the worse fighter, I thought more of him when he came to ITFL but the results don’t lie. Rumlow should take this one.

JR: The final fight between these two teams is Duane Perry vs. Bruce Brady. Perry recently suffered his first ITFL loss after coming into the fight hurt, and he was thoroughly wrestling for 3 straight rounds. Brady has bounced back from a first round loss by defeating his next two opponents via KO, showing off his new striking attack.

JS: I feel Perry only lost that fight because he came in hurt, he would of won the fight otherwise. Brady is a similar sort of fighter to Labak (who beat Perry) but with worse wrestling. In my eyes Perry will be able to keep this fight on the feet where his natural power will end Brady’s night early.

RS: Perry was exposed in his last fight, yes he came in hurt but he was exposed to a strong wrestler. Brady might not be as technical sound as Labak but if he can get this to the floor then he has a good chance of grinding Perry out once again.

JR: That’s just about all we have to for with part 2, join us on part 3 where we will be discussing the matchups between Team Icon and Vendetta!

JR: Welcome to the final part of our ITFL round 4 preview, this time we will be looking at the fights between Team Icon and Vendetta. Icon have been doing well for themselves, considered to be one of the teams finishing in the lower standings, after a 4-1 win in the first round they were soundly beaten 5-0 by Team Conquer, but in the 3rd round they pulled off a huge upset of The Charles Grace All Stars winning 3-1-1. Vendetta meanwhile have won all rounds 4-1 and sit in a comfortable 2nd place. The matchups are, Antonio Lobo vs. Ras Li Judah, Akihito Yamoto vs. Igor Quincy, Kabal Labak vs. Friedrich Von Kuschelbar, Mr Steel Penn vs. Cornelius Carr and BJ McGobblecock Jr. vs. Jermaine Wright. Lets start with Lobo vs. Judah.

JS: Lobo pulled off a big upset in his last fight, he was almost overlooked, he still has the one dimensional skill set it works. His rush the clinch and pull guard to submit is basic but he is good at it. Judah has been on a roll, 3 KOs puts him joint top of the table. In my eyes he should be able to avoid Lobo’s basic attacks and land some of his power on Lobo’s chin.

RS: I was very surprised last round by Lobo, he did the unexpected. Judah is raw talent and I think he may be caught by the wily experience of Lobo this round.

JR: The next fight is Akihito Yamato vs. Igor Quincy. Yamato managed to pick up a win in his first round matchup but since then he lost his next two fights via KO. Quicny meanwhile has continued to be the weak link in Vendetta’s team, losing twice via KO and the other he was dominated for 3 whole rounds.

RS: Quincy has shown power, so has Yamato, neither has a great chin. It will be interesting to see this fight unfold, who will land first and so on. I feel Quincy’s power is greater than Yamato’s and will find the opportunity to land at some point.

JS: It’s a toss up, I wouldn’t be surprised if either man got the win. But quite frankly I don’t think anyone is very excited for this match, but it may be the decider on who wins the overall team battle.

JR: The 3rd fight we have is Labak vs. Kuschelbar, Labak has looked good in his two wins, and his loss was against Rumlow which is nothing to be ashamed about. The Baron has won all 3 of his fights via decision, he has been described as a boring blanket fighter but the results speak for themselves.

JS: I detest people who call a world class wrestler boring, it’s his job to win and his opponents job to stop that from happening, he does his and his opponent doesn’t. His top game is lethal but his striking has improved leaps and bounds. I feel he will want to keep this fight on the feet to avoid Labak’s similar style of wrestling.

RS: This will go to the floor, who takes it there is anyones game. Both are heavy on the top but I feel The Baron has the better ju jitsu to sweep or stand this fight up.

JR: The 4th fight is Mr Steel Penn vs. Cornelius Carr. Penn, despite his many doubters is 2-1 so far, defeating the highly regarded Matt Kroblur last round, his ground game is not somewhere anyone wants to be. Carr is 3-0 with 1 finish on his record and he has taken out some impressive names along the way.

RS: Penn on the ground is a joy to watch, he is constantly looking to attack and sweep. Standing up is his weakness, he looks like a fish out of water, Carr will need to make him pay on the feet if he hopes to survive on the ground.

JS: Penn just got lucky, typical ju jitsu ‘fighter’. Carr is miles better than him, he will get up if taken down and get the KO in round 1.

JR: The final fight between these two teams is BJ McGobblecock Jr. vs. Jermain Wright. JR is 1-1-1, winning via KO, losing via KO and taking Stoker to a draw. Wright is 3-0 with 2 KOs on his record. This looks to be a very interesting striking match.

JS: BJ is good, he has certainly stepped up his game since coming to the ITFL, but I feel Wright will be too much for him. Wright has the power to hurt JR if it comes to it, BJ is good in the clinch and should look to score points there if he can. But over 3 rounds I think Wright will get the KO finish at some point.

RS: BJ is very good in the clinch, he attacks with everything he can throw at opponents. Wright will be in big trouble if he is stuck against the cage. That said on the feet I just feel Wright is better and more powerful.

JR: Well guys, that’s just about all we have time for. We hope you enjoyed this preview, join us next time for round 5. Once again if you wish to be a guest on this show do get in touch. We would love to hear everyone’s thoughts on the upcoming fights. Thank you, I’ve been Jack Russell, good night.

An intense looking Duane Perry took to the microphone post fight and gave a little speech: 'ROTFLMAO did you really think you could beat me? LOL hAhahahahah. STFU noob.'.

Was that really necessary JLP haha!

Not making excuses as i most likely woulda lost anyway but i think i forgot to change my sliders from the last fight...

That's his stock post win speech. I think brainsmasher was before your time.

At least we didn't get swept. If you had told me bryer would have a better record then stoker in week 4 before the season started I would have thought we were doing pretty well. Next week is a get well week vs dong squad. It's do well or embrace the dumpster fire.

I'm surprisingly on the ball today with updating the tournament. Standings have been updated and the Pick Order for the next round has been added to Post #3 on the thread.

On another note, UniConor owes Mickey Hart $100k from Neil Gilas winning a fight
