Exactly why rankings won't ever be a true way of crowning a world champion.

Island guy is basically a Heavyweight PrizeFighting mother AA fighter. Afro Samurai crushed a lot of openweight cans to get to #1 P4p. 26 in a row iirc. A streak I ended that streak with Don Marciano :-)

HWP fighters never got nominated because Jacky and Mother AA had bad reps.

But what Callum does at the Highland is no different.

Not knocking them or their niche, but if you don't make the jump to open waters, they don't belong in any discussion for FOTY awards imo.

I think there is a slight mistake. We had 22 and should have got 7 point (2 wins and 1 loss) so I'm pretty sure we're at 29.

Got to say, Kilo has had another stellar year. Has to be the main candidate for the FOTY again. Avenged his losses and ending the year as #1.

Yeah tbh I think he has it locked up. Was #1 for majority of the year, most world title wins over the year, won Olympics, as you mentioned avenged his losses, and headlined the biggest PPV fights of all time (3 400k+). Has anyone ever won fighter of the year in back to back years?

I could be wrong, but I don't think anybody's ever fought this much P4P ranking competition before in a year. He consistently was fighting top 5 w/c and top plenty of top 10 p4p fighters. had like 8+ fights this year vs top 10 p4p fighters.

Way too tired and lazy to organize this right now, so bare with the sloppiness and I forget some ranks...

01-01-22 Yago Steve #3 W/C
01-16-22 Yardbird Knox #8 P4P
01-30-22 Aleksei Babinski #14 P4P
02-20-22 Conor The Barbarian #2 P4P
02-27-22 Pupuki Namasuzuki #20 P4P, #3 W/C
03-13-22 Karim Johnson #2 W/C (Top 10 P4P)

Won the Olympics, gold medal, beat #14 P4P Babinski in the finals...

Avenged loss vs #2 P4P Karim...

lost to Leif, then beat #1 P4P Leif, lost to Leif, lost to Yago via cut...

rebounds by beating top 3 w/c CBD (prob top 15 p4p) managed by top 5 ranked manager Laz from YABAI

beat #2 P4P Yago in trilogy to recapture SYN belt

headed kicked #9 P4P Leif into orbit

idk what island boy and butch were ranked but he beat #6 P4P Karim Johnson in trilogy..

16-4 this year. not easy fighting 20 heavyweights at the top of the game.

Perhaps 2012 Otso - 15-2 - 2013 Otso - 19-3

I don't think a single guy was outside of the top 20 when they fought him. Probably about the only comparable over a single year stretch.

Rinky I think managed 17-3 in 2015 and 15-3 in 2014 at HW/SHW. I can't remember much of the competition being outside of the top 20.

I actually have a nearly complete list of Kilos major wins. Definitely a couple missing though.

Kimbo Slice #1 p4p

Iian Tower #1 p4p

Rick Piano 2x #1 p4p and ???

Leif Leifsson 2× #1 p4p and #9 p4p

Conor 4× ???, ???, #2 p4p and #3 p4p

Karim Johnson 2× #2 p4p and #6 p4p

Yago Steve 2× #2 p4p and #14 p4p

Heavy Rain #4 p4p

Alborz Mumu #5 p4p

Kvame Zulu 2× #5 p4p and ???

Mister Mcnasty #7 p4p

Yardbird Knox #8 p4p and #10 p4p

Jorge Cruz Jr 2× #11 p4p and ???

Gary Sparxx #11 p4p

Alexei Babinski #14 p4p

CDB #18 p4p

Biff Raper #18 p4p

Mister Mcnasty #18 p4p

Pupuki Namasuzuki #20 p4p

Ballin Trollslayer #26 p4p

Viktor babinski #27p4p

VV #28 p4p

Zeta Knox #34 p4p

Bitch Frewin #43 p4p

He has not fought a single fighter outside the top 50 since I took over syn

Thats 24 confirmed top 20 p4p wins, 16 of those 24 being top 10 p4p along with knocking off #1 p4p 4 separate times.

??? = fight with unknown rank

(Piano 2, Conor 1 & 2, Zulu 2 and Cruz Jr 2 are unknown)

Rinky fought a lot of killers in his day. Lots of top opponents for sure. Probably overlooked a lot of fighters when I typed that nonsense this morning.

Rinky's 2015 resume based off opponents highest rank stored - back when it used to update daily:

5 P4P Stack Shillings (wasn't top 10 p4p at Rinky fight cuz he got to #5 p4p after Jamie Anderton and Proudstar wins under Chico)

6 P4P Rockford Knight

1 P4P Leonardo Ferreira

20 P4P Hans Beck

13 P4P Andrei Kersikov

33 P4P Scott Norton

4 P4P Varge Veide (hit #4 P4P after beating Rinky)

6 P4P Rockford Knight

9 P4P Cinder Smaug

20 P4P Rau Utu

1 P4P Rocky Tyson (was coming off loss to Leo prior to Rinky fight so wasn't ranked #1 when they fought)

32 P4P Tiny McGee

1 P4P Leonardo Ferreira

18 P4P Bo Juggernaut

33 P4P Vyacheslav Kalashnikov

62 P4P Yeo Jae Suk

37 P4P Codi Gale

Rinky's 2014 resume is loaded, just hard to tell what rank they were when they fought. 1 fighter highest rank 88 P4P but other than that I think everybody else cracked top 20 often top 10. just hard to tell what ranks they were at the time of the fight.

Yago Steve was ranked #2 P4P when Kilo took the title from him.

the 4 bold were basically the lambs in Jurassic park being led out to the hype-hungry T-Rex but the rest of the list were quality competition, often farmed for chin and/or KO power.
