saklain Posted June 10, 2021 Report Share Posted June 10, 2021 I do want to start by saying that I am not the creator of this tournament, the legendary Rory Daly is and I am just looking to recreate it because I am a massive fan of this tournament and wished that it would come back but unfortunately Daly has left the game Also, I know that I would never ever be able to make this tournament as great as Rory Daly did as he is a better storyteller and manager than me. If Rory ever decides to come back, I will remove this forum and allow Daly to continue on where he left off. The Story of GONY -Written by Rory Daly It all started in the cold winter of 2013. There was great unrest in the city of New York due to a number of reasons. Clothing and Nutrition stores were being looted and used for money laundering, Illegal potency narcotics were being sold to the masses on the black market, some of the most powerful names in Manhattan were using dirty tactics to control and fuck over the people for personal gain, hell even the most trusted members of the community manipulated the system to make it big in this god forsaken city. The NYC Governor, once praised by all for his iron fist against crime and innovative groundbreaking improvements he made to the great city, was soon frowned upon as he starting to seek other ventures in lands far away. Enough was enough for the good people of ‘the big apple’ and thus began the start of Gangs of New York… One of the King Pins of the city known for his foul play GONY 1 The lack of policing and authority along with the increasing cases of foul play led to cycles of Gang Violence for years. First, after months of grueling fights between the gangs one emerged victorious – The Five Pointers. A powerful gang made up of mainly Scandinavian origin led by Don Putin, known for his short temper and prolonged grudges. They were one of the most savage gangs to grace the streets since it all started – commonly seen in Blue to represent their Finnish heritage and cold heart of Don Putin they would see themselves undefeated in conflict largely thanks to the most feared fighter Mickey Shanks. Mickey Shanks preparing for battle alongside his fellow Five pointers GONY 2 A couple of years went by under the order of the Five Pointers until rivalries within the gang caused their eventual downfall. Castor Rollins was rumored to be the reason for this. Don Putin had a hate/love relationship with him and is believed to have one day set up a hit on his comrade. A new wave of gangs emerged from this rumor. Once again, there was fisticuffs around every corner between the new uprising of clans. Some legendary names were born in this era, one more so than the rest – Jean Claude Cedric. A man of large stature who would end any fight in the click of a finger, he possessed skills no one could match and would regularly be seen snapping an arm or choking an enemy out. Even with the best fighter on their side the Hells Kitchen Hellions wouldn’t find themselves crowned kings of New York. It was the highly underestimated Rockin Robbins who’d find themselves at the helm. Led by none other than Don Wolf, possibly the sketchiest and most hated gangster in all of New York for his corruption and betrayal of the once loved Governor and entire population. One of Don Putin's hitmen taking out Castor GONY 3 Alas, it wasn’t long until Don Wolf and his Robbins were banished from the lands, a certain band of misfits would soon smash their way through anyone who got in their path and would continue to do so for the next 5 years. Don Wolf killed by the GIMPS, the Robbins were banished shortly after The G.I.M.P.S are a creepy bunch often seen in dark leather attire led by Don Gwad and his two notorious henchmen Riff McGee and Rudy Van Daly who would shred through opponents like it was their job….which….it was. New York has been under the watchful eye of the G.I.M.P.S for a long time, but word on the street is that’s about to change… Don Daly, widely known in New York as the man who planted the seeds for the uprising that started all the violence after the great unrest all those years ago and close ally of the reigning G.I.M.P.S found himself getting rather comfortable in his Manhattan office that overlooked the Five points of the city. Often seen tilted back in his leather chair with a glass of scotch in one hand and a cigarette in the other, it was just a normal evening for Daly until his pathetic old henchman - now servant, Christian LeBaron burst through the office door with a shocked look on his face and panting frantically. LeBaron: ‘Sir, I know it’s late but I have urgent news! T…t…terrible news!’ Daly: ‘LeBaron you french fuck, I don’t remember giving you permission to enter and filthy my newly fitted carpet… this better be good.’ LeBaron: ‘Good? No sir, its far fr-‘ Daly: ‘Hush fucking tongue LeBaron’ (Daly pours himself another scotch as he realizes somethings very wrong) ‘Proceed.’ LeBaron: I was jumped shortly after I left the building by some guys… they beat me up good and told me to give this note to you’ (he pulls a bloody note out of his jacket pocket and thrusts it in front of Daly’s face) Daly: ‘What is this shit? Whose blood is this?’ (He walks towards his office window that has a view of the statue of Liberty, opens the blinds and sees his best henchman Rudy Van Daly of the GIMPS hanging from a noose from the top of the statue) Daly: ……………. Daly: ‘LeBaron grab my coat and get Don Gwad on the horn. The GIMPS have fallen. Gangs: 6 Gangs of 5 fighters = 30 fighters in total 1 Don per gang, the Don’s will be the 6 highest ranking managers who sign up. Gangs will be chosen by DRAFT PICKS. The Don of each gang will take turns picking which managers they want on their gang in a snake draft style. EVERYONE FIGHTS 5 TIMES – No sacking during the tournament. Fight Picks: The first round of fights will be picked at randomized by me. Before each of the remaining 4 events the fighters who won their fights the fastest in the last event, gets to choose who they want to fight in the next event. I will put the fight pick order up on this thread after each event (don’t worry). Best Gang: The Gang with the best record at the end wins. If there is a tie, it comes down to how many individual wins the gang had throughout the tournament. If there is still a tie, the Don of the 2 winning gangs will face off to fight for the Gang’s victory. Prize: $200,000 Dollars (40K each) Best Fighter: The Fighter with the best record. If there is a tie, the fighter with the most finishes wins. If there is still a tie, the fighter who spent the least amount of time in the cage wins. Prize: $100,000 Schedule: Will be decided after sign ups. Approx. 4-5 weeks training after creation, 3 weeks between fights.
