2022 Alliance World Championships

Pre-Tournament Individual Fighter Watch List

135lbs Division

#[1]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Rudy Beckwith
 Rudy Beckwith (Optimal)

A durable looking BJJ specialist who is already displaying some strong wrestling fundamentals to compliment his high level submission skills. Managed by the current #4 manager in the game Optimal, One Man Wolf Packs' Rudy Beckwith is very likely to be a big part of his teams success and is definitely a star in the making. The only major question regarding Beckwith in this tournament is whether he will be able to deal with the high level strikers that he may come across? Given that he is said to have one hell of a chin on him however, we rate his chances as extremely good.

#[2]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Charles Eric Cheese
Charles Eric Cheese (Freako Wimp)

Convicted Inc's delightfully named Charles Eric Cheese looks to have a bright future ahead of himself despite some rather dubious rumours of inappropriate behaviour at children's birthday parties following him around. It is said that his past actions have landed him many beatings from angry parents but due to a stubborn chin, he managed to take them like a champ (though one particularly savage beat down in an inner city location did leave him with two lazy eyes) Since those times, Cheese has been learning to fight back and has developed something of a brawling style. Perfect for those back alleys that he is often dragged into. Will this style hold out again some of the more refined technicians of the division? Former #1 manager and NAMBLA member Freako Wimp certainly believes so and who better to give their opinion than a man who also often finds himself face to face with some angry parents?

#[3]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Akio Kurosaki
 Akio Kurosaki (Louie DePalma)

That dastardly Louie DePalma must be some sort of necromancer as he seems to have raised last years entry Akio Kurosaki straight from his grave. Same name and same avatar, this display of creativity goes a long way in proving the rumour that Louie wears the exact same outfit every single day. All that aside, Kurosaki looks to be a truly top prospect for the future with his wonderful Muay Thai skills and developing ground game. Most importantly, he is said to have a chin carved straight out of granite. Combined with the fact the DePalma not a completely terrible manager kinda sort of, Kurosaki ranks very high on the list of this years bantamweight participants and looks to be a key part of the Keyboard Warriors 2 team.

#[4]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Eh Phuthong
 Eh Phuthong (P J Jones)

Hailing from Pnnom Penh, Cambodia, we have Eh “Little Scorpion” Phuthong who will be representing Keyboard Warriors 1 and who looks to be another great prospect out of P J Jones camp. Phuthong is developing at a decent rate and seems to be making sure to improve the most glaring of his weaknesses which in this case would be the ground. His boxing skills are said to be truly wonderful to witness and it is also said that he is rarely phased by a good shot to the chin. All good things leading us to believe that Phuthong is going to do rather well in this tournament.

#[5]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Wingers Son
Wingers Son (Aydan The Wandering Spirit)

The illegitimate son of Daddy Winger? Doubtful as everyone knows that, due to his excessive rollmop consumption, Winger was shooting nothing but blanks. Still, you never know and it is actually possible that this young wrestler might just possess the Tom Brady level genes of the departed Winger. Not too much to go on right now other than a good chin and some high level wrestling skills. Possibly a submission hunter but could just as easily be looking to grind opponents up in the clinch. Managed by The Stepadads Aydan The Wandering Spirit who has, after revealing himself to be a Tottenham fan, now crashed to a well deserved all time low of #305 in the rankings. Wingers Son looks to be a good prospect in the hands of a manager with extremely questionable taste.

#[6]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Unang Zemin
 Unang Zemin (Roman Benson)

Not much is known about this mysterious Indonesian representative Unang Zemin except for the fact that he is looking highly skilled from the get go. A high level Muay Thai base as well as a respectable level of wrestling and boxing and BJJ means that Zemin is going to be well equipped to deal with all styles of opponent. He is managed by Golden Teams Roman Benson who has been involved in the game for some years now but is currently still to break into the top #100. Can Benson get the best out of Zemin through his tournament? That is a question that will shortly be answered. One thing is for sure however and that is if Zemin shows any signs of having some of those intangible qualities that set fighters apart, he is going to be a big threat in both this tournament and in his weight class afterwards

#[7]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Raja Jooseppi

Raja Jooseppi (Frank Abbott)

FinnFighters Raja Jooseppi comes in at number seven on the list and looks to be just as solid a prospect as the rest so far. Arguably a few steps behind some of the others in terms of skills, Jooseppi's main positives are his ability to take a punch and his manager Frank Abbott's extensive experience within the game. Jooseppi looks to be something of a ground and pound wrestler so far and given the amount of submission specialists in this weight class, he could find himself swimming amongst the sharks if he is not careful. Certainly going to be interesting watching his journey through this tournament and to see in which direction he takes his training from here.

#[8]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Tim Riggins
 Tim Riggins (Izzy Fisher)

Texas Forever, Six! Whilst Tim Riggins may well have peaked in High School, there just might be a little more for him out there as he makes his transition to the world of MMA. Already having shown a good level of potential to reach the final of the D4 TWGC on his first try, Riggins has also gotten of to a great start in MMA with a third round submission win in his professional debut. Lacking in skills in other areas, Riggins' has been gradually trying to improve but he might find himself relying on his solid chin for a while as he looks to catch up. Managed by Super SMESH Bros Izzy Fisher who has a career best of #72, Riggins could end up being a good long term prospect for his camp but for 2022 AWC tournament, opinions are that he might struggle against some of the fighters from more established camps.

#[9]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Smoke Junior
Smoke Junior (Butch Harris)

Managed by the unstable Tycoon Judas we have Harlem's Smoke Junior representing the One Man Wolf Pack Team Two and he will be determined to shrug off his lower ranking pre-tournament position of 9th. A wonderful kickboxer, Junior has been improving in key areas such as wrestling and BJJ and is even showing some signs of improved boxing skills right now. Clearly a quick learner in the gym, it's possible that Smoke Junior is being underestimated by the analysts but perhaps that is just how he likes it. Fly under the radar and then surprise people when they least expect it!

#[10]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Rickson Bravo

Rickson Bravo (Kento King)

Another BJJ specialist in Rickson Bravo, this surly looking Hilo native will be representing Super SMESH Bros 2 and manager Kento King. Bravo has already had an introduction into the shady practices of MMATycoon when he was sandbagged hard in the TWGC by a 44 year old brown belt. Suffice to say he was eliminated from the competition, we just hope that hasn't deterred him long term. His manager Kento King has been in the game just a little under a year now and has managed to get to around the #158 mark. Like alliance mate Tim Riggins, Bravo could be a potentially strong prospect for his manager going forward but isn't expected to do particularly well during this tournament. Of course he could end up proving us wrong but that wouldn't be a bad thing at all.

#[11]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Chilli Bloke
 Chilli Bloke (Thaddeus Banks)

“Quasimodo” Chilli Bloke will be representing the Brotherhood alliance who have been predicted the dreaded bottom place finish in the tournament. At first glance, Bloke looks to be decent enough prospect in comparison with everyone else. High level kick boxing skills, competent wrestling and a blue belt in BJJ. He has also racked up a win during his professional debut with a final second, first round submission win in the QFC. The knock on Bloke? He is a dirty Nick Diaz level thin skin bleeder and that is one of the last thing you want to be in this tournament. He is managed by Thaddeus Banks who has a career best of #68 and a decent amount of tournament experience. What can he get out of Bloke overall? We will soon start to find out.

#[12]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Otto McBean
Otto McBean (Pika Choo)

Yet another BJJ brown belt in the weight class, this time from Team Panda we have Otto McBean from Edinburgh, Scotland. No information at all on this guy other than what we can immediately see. Competent wrestling to help him get the fight to the floor we assume, McBean also sports the beginnings of some stand up skills too. Very likely a submission fighter and there is not much else we can say about him. McBean is managed by Pika Choo who has a career best of #59. A rough road ahead of himself predicted but really that could end up being very wrong indeed.

#[13]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Slim Slow
Slim Slow (Lincoln Hawks)

The last fighter on the list is The Guardians Slim Slow who hails from Tupelo, USA. Hard to know for sure but it's possible that Slow missed some training sessions while his manager Lincoln Hawks was away. If that's not the case however it could be an even worse scenario and that is that Slow isn't just his name on paper but his learning level in the gym. Slim also had a rough start to his MMA career when he was KO'd just five seconds into his professional debut. He was very confident before that so the loss would have been a big blow to him. He is managed by long time manager Lincoln Hawks who has managed a career high of #78 on this go around. It's likely to be a bumpy ride for Slow in this tournament with even a single victory to be counted as one hell of an achievement

2022 Alliance World Championships

Pre-Tournament Individual Fighter Watch List

185lbs Division

#[1]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Panagiotis Nikolau
Panagiotis Nikolau (Alex K)

First on the 185lbs watch list is The Stepdads Panagiotis Nikolau. Hailing from Heraklion, Greece, this 6ft 2in brawler is practically a light-heavyweight and with his boxing/wrestling style is clearly looking to crush his opponents in the clinch. Making him all the more dangerous is the fact that Panagiotis is also rumoured to have the chin of Zeus himself. Without question a future star in the game but definitely at the mercy of his incredibly sneaky, sandbagging former #1 manager Alex K (who has purposefully tanked his own manager ranking in order to seem less capable) The stories of Mr. K's fickle nature are legendary with many fighters reportedly being dumped at the first time of trouble. A vast majority of these fighters also reported having their accounts cleaned out by K's office once kicked to the curb. Such a ruthless individual clearly demands the best out of his fighters and that is why Nikolau comes in at the top of the list.

#[2]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Seppo Maki
Seppo Maki (Jorma Oltsu)

Second on the list is a fighter that is coming in with one hell of a buzz surrounding him and that is the FinnFighters Seppo Maki. Under the tutelage of former #1 manager Jorma Oltsu, Maki is rumoured to have some ungodly potential in the world of MMATycoon but recently some concerns have arisen concerning his training and it begs the question; just what is going on over there at Jorzi GYM in Helsinki? Is Oltsu concentrating on his athletic state first in order to get a physical advantage over his opponents or is this natural born scrapper struggling to pick up the all round fundamentals of the fight game? We are very close to finding out but there is a real risk here that Maki could find himself being beaten by those with less potential in the long run but who are naturally gifted learners right now.

#[3]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Willie Diggs
Willie Diggs (Chris Karter)

There is little doubt in my mind that Convicted Inc's Willie Diggs is going to be at least a very dangerous opponent for anyone he faces and with the power in his hand and feet to trouble any chin he comes across. Diggs looks to be making great improvements in his boxing skills to go along with his favoured Muay Thai, though his wrestling is mediocre at best. Luckily for him the middleweight division seems to be littered with stand up fighters so that glaring chink in the armour might not be such a big deal for the time being. Guided by on and off again #1 manager Chris Karter, Diggs should be around the game for years to come. Whether that is under the wing of notorious rage sacker Karter or not, we will have to wait and see.

#[4]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Smash Adams
Smash Adams (Dead Disney)

Next up we wrestler Smash Adams who is currently working extremely hard in the gym to improve his stand up skills for this tournament. Based on that information we are assuming that Adams will be looking to use his wrestling for defensive purposes and win his fights on the feet. They are some strange rumours coming out of Adam's camp though that suggests he isn't really getting the rest he needs. An insider from his entourage reported that he spends the majority of his evenings dressed up in a white tuxedo, heading out to the Las Vegas casinos, getting drunk on sour whiskey toddy's and asking strangers a serious of bizarre random questions about where they've been and what they're hiding. All of this makes little sense until you notice he is managed by the despicable Dead Disney.  A man of such little integrity that he would vote for his inactive alliance mate for a tournament that he didn't enter and that barely even made it to the end. Weird nocturnal behaviour and questionable management aside, Smash Adams is said to be able to scrap when the time comes and we have no doubt that he'll be one to keep an eye on both in this tournament and in the future.

#[5]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Adrian Adamos
Adrian Adamos (Scott Bandz)

Two Greeks in one division? What are the chances? Athens own Adrian Adamos looks set to make a strong impact in the middleweight class as he brings his wrestling based brand of brawling to the AWC tournament. When asked about his ability to fight, the first thing most from his camp say is that he can take a punch. Always a good thing in the face punching business but can Adamos also dish it out? His progress in the gym suggests that he will at least have a decent technical understanding of what he's doing if nothing else. Guided by the not new, new manager of the year Scott Bandz, Adamos will be representing the Super SMESH Bros Team 1 and might well end up having to carry the load of his currently AWOL teammate Tim Riggins. If this is the case, Adamos will need to win every fight during this tournament just to give his team a chance of winning. That's a lot of pressure for a not new, new manager but we look forward to seeing how he copes.

#[6]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Cathal Doherty
Cathal Doherty (John Daugherty)

Irish amateur boxer Cathal Doherty will be representing The Guardians alliance who are looking for redemption in this years AWC in a big way. Guided by experienced manager John Wick..er..I mean John Daugherty, Doherty is yet another fighter with a bright future ahead of himself. Known for his ability to take a punch on the mean streets of Ballyliffin, the biggest concern regarding Doherty is the speed of progression he is making in the gym. Sure, his boxing is superb and he does have a respectable amount of wrestling behind him but overall he looks to be lagging behind most of the other top fighters in this weight class and behind even your average 25 year old first timer. Is it a ruse and Doherty will actually come in as a physical beast or is Doherty doomed to be a long game project who will struggle in this tournament? The time to find is is soon approaching.

#[7]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Jules Ann
Jules Ann (Squirrely Dan)

A heavy hitting middleweight from Columbus, Ohio, Jules Ann will be looking to make the best of his wonderful boxing skills and slowly developing ground game. Managed by twelve year veteran Squirrely Dan who has a career best of #3 and currently resides high at #11 (It's actually now #19 but I can't be bothered to keep updating these every time I start writing) the jury really is out on Ann's chances of success this tournament and whether he ends up going on to being a key performer on Squirrelly Dan's roster. He is at least said to possess a decent amount of firepower in those fists of his so there is always that punchers chance.

#[8]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Gord Ryan
Gord Ryan (Jason Swanson)

From North Battleford, Saskatchewan, Canada, Gord Ryan will be stepping up to represent Super SMESH Bros Team 2 in their first ever Alliance World Championship and Ryan will definitely be one of the more experienced fighters on their team. Already with three professional bouts under his belt, Ryan will be coming in with a legit record of 2-1 which is far more than most others competing. Of course the downtime recovering from each of these fights will have no doubt impacted his time in the gym but Ryan doesn't seem phased at all and has admitted that he cannot wait to get his hands on Chris Karter's Willie. Ryan is managed by eight year veteran Jason Swanson who's hatred for Convicted Inc and Chris Karter in general is palpable. Ask him how he feels about his potential tournament rivals and he will just froth at the mouth and mumble incoherently. With such an unstable combination comes uncertainty and the long term potential of this pairing is still being debated.

#[9]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Afa Nbaku
Afa Nbaku (Ethan Downs)

Really not much to say about this fella other than he has a very non threatening looking purple mohawk. He is said to have some wonderful Muay Thai skills but no one outside of his manager and gym have actually seen it. Speaking of which, his manager Ethan Downs is one of those strange Keyboard Warrior cult members and who has reached a career best of #3. Nbaku will be on the far inferior second team of the alliance and how he will do during this tournament and beyond is just about anybody's guess.

#[10]

16193125842260.jpg
Bobby Boucher (Alfredo Gonzalez)

What can you say about Bobby “The Waterboy” Boucher that doesn't need to be said when you mention the words Alfredo and Gonzalez? That name alone speaks of excellence and that is very likely what you're going to be seeing from Boucher here. Many from his gym have described him as the most self confident prospect they've ever come across and clearly he has been picking up things rather well in the gym. He will be representing the One Man Wolf Pack second team of whom have just been rocked with the absolute but not unsurprising news of Butch Harris' betrayal. Now it looks as though Boucher will be needing to win every fight that comes his way in order to keep his team in with a chance and that is something that his very smart and charismatic manager Alfredo cannot guarantee.

#[11]
Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Amazing Billy

Amazing Billy (Mister Twister)

Another unknown entity coming in at #11 is Houston native “The” Amazing Billy representing alliance minnows Team Panda. Any parent that has the balls to name their kid Amazing from the start clearly has some very high hopes for their child in the future. As it so happens, Billy seems to be developing quite well in the gym so far and is developing a solid looking all round game. With no fight tape on the man to check out, it's hard to see where his preferences lay but our guess would be that Billy is more of a stand up guy. He will be guided by newcomer Mister Twister who at the time of writing has reached a career best of #321. Fair to say that his managers inexperience might be a big factor in Billy's success during this tournament, it is for this reason as well as the lack of information currently that sees him placed so low on the list.

#[12]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Juha Maenpaa
Juha Maenpaa (Frank Castle)

Finnish boxer Juha Maenpaa has already been garnering a little experience before this tournaments start though it's fair to say his record hasn't been particularly impressive. Clearly struggling with the ground aspect of the game, both of Maenpaa's losing have come at the hands of wrestlers. Still, he has yet to be finished with both fights ending via a decision and the fact the he has shown some durability can only be considered a good thing. Guided by newcomer Frank Castle, Maenpaa might end up being a good fighter down the line but currently it seems as though he might be just a little too far behind in his training to upset some of the more established camps.

#[13]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Freddie Hart
Freddie Hart (Callum Styles)

It's never nice to be at the bottom of the list but it's hard to argue that Muskogee native Freddie Hart doesn't belong here at least initially. With nothing in the way of past fights to go on, all we can do is analyse what we have in front of us and unfortunately for Hart, what is immediately obvious is that he is quite a way behind most of the other fighters in his weight class. Representing the newly formed Golden Team, Hart will be relying almost solely on his wonderful boxing skills as he is said to be practically useless in most other areas. He is guided by new manager Callum Styles who has only been around for a couple of months but who seems to have gotten to grips with the many pitfalls and perils of the game rather quickly and has climbed to a career best of #101. Will Hart surprise us beyond all initial expectations or do we have it right on the money for his tournament prospects?

2022 Alliance World Championships

Pre-Tournament Individual Fighter Watch List

265lbs Division

#[1]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Jimmy Labradoodle
Jimmy Labradoodle (Billy Arseworth)

An extremely unfortunate name for such a potential beast of a man, Sydney's Jimmy “Lapdog” Labradoodle comes in at the top of the rankings and for very good reason. Firstly, the high level wrestler is said to have a cast iron jaw that even Tyson himself would have trouble cracking and secondly, he is managed by former #1 Billy Arseworth who has competed in both AWC's so far and has always done extremely well and without even trying particularly hard. He will be representing The Stepdads alliance who will be aiming for gold this season and there's little doubt that Labradoodle will be an integral part of their march to glory. There is also even less doubt that Labradoodle will be around the game for many years to come.

#[2]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Orn Frostulfsson
Orn Frostulfsson (Andy Down)

Something of an all round striker, Kiribati's Viking LARPer Orn Frostulfsson will be the heavyweight representative for the One Man Wolf Pack First Team. Perhaps some concerns at this stage as to whether Frostulfsson is going to have the skills to hang with some of the more specialist fighters in his division but being managed by former #1 manager Andy Down, you would have to give him the benefit of the doubt (otherwise he will get VERY angry and say mean things to you) A strange scenario for Frostulfsson as given he is second on this rankings list you would think that his future is almost set in stone but given the cut throat, ruthless nature of his manager, anything other than a perfect run here is likely to get him cut as soon as the final bell rings.

#[3]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Kurt Zweihander
Kurt Zweihander (Don Xyel)

Texan fighter Kurt Zweihander is an absolute giant of a man. Coming in at around 7ft 2inches, he could have easily have decided to pursue basketball instead of MMA but the fighting spirit was clearly too strong in him and Zweihander has decided to make a name for himself in the AWC tournament. Representing the Keyboard Warriors Team One, Zweihander will be guided by Don Xyel who was a member of last years championship winning team. Although having never reached the coveted #1 position himself, Xyel clearly knows what he is doing and will be well prepared to help his new charge achieve maximum results. Zweihander arrives with some high level boxing skills right off the bat and looks to have been working hard on his wrestling in order to help him stay on his feet. He is said to have some serious knockout power in his hands so it's going to be great fun to see this behemoth in action.

#[4]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Marcel Thibodeaux

Marcel Thibodeaux (Dakota Thibodeaux)

American wrestler Marcel Thibodeaux is a real interesting pick at #4 on the list. First impressions return more questions then answers as Thibodeaux looks to be about the most advanced fighter in the tournament at this point. Is he an absolute prodigy in the gym or has he been neglecting the physical aspect of MMA in preparation for this tournament? It is also unclear at this point just where Thibodeaux's is most comfortable in the cage. A BJJ blue belt as well as some competent stand up skills means that he could be dangerous just about anywhere he choses to be. To compliment his high level skills, Thibodeaux is also said to be able to take a punch which is always a good thing. Representing Super SMESH Bros Team One, he is guided by experienced manager Dakota Thibodeaux who seems to be having the best run of his career currently. Having been involved in the game for around six years now, manager Thibodeaux has just managed to hit a career best of #42. This climb in the rankings comes at a great time and if it means having hit a new level of expertise within the game then Marcel Thibodeaux could end up being the real MVP of the AWC heavyweight class this season.

#[5]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Kush Cake
Kush Cake (Sonny Muchacho)

At first glance, you would be forgiven for thinking that Keyboard Warriors Team Two heavyweight fighter Kush Cake had lied about his weight but upon further inspection we learn that he seems to carry most of his weight in his face. The Dutch fighter comes into the tournament with a wonderful wrestling base but has been slowly trying to improve his stand up skills and most likely clinch game. He is managed by Sonny Muchacho who was not involved in last years championship winning campaign and thus, we are told, is constantly told to shut up during team meetings as his opinion doesn't matter. Pretty rude considering that he has come so very close to hitting the big one with a career best of #2 but then the Keyboard Warriors aren't known for being a particularly nice bunch. Cake is said to have a big right hand on him which we look forward to seeing in action and we also hope that this young fighter will have a bright future ahead of himself after the tournament.

#[6]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Danyaal Zahedi
Danyaal Zahedi (John Wayne)

Danyaal Zahedi is already under some scrutiny as his lab results came back showing some unprecedentedly high levels of horse meat consumption. Whilst still a little morally ambiguous, you have to admire his principled approach to cheating without actually braking any rules. As we all know, injecting yourself with prohibited substances is against the rules but nobody ever said anything about ingesting 5kgs of tainted horse meat a day instead for the same results right? Controversy aside, Zahedi looks to be an absolute cannon of a man. All firepower at the moment. Said to have knockout power in his punches, he looks to be an out and out brawler and somebody looking to cause maximum damage both on the outside and in the clinch. He represents Super SMESH Bros Team Two and is managed by John Wayne who has a career best of #8. In this weight class Zehedi's future could go a number of ways but he is always going to be a dangerous opponent and with a punchers chance.

#[7]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Mauricio Ascaciba
Mauricio Ascaciba (Matty Fernandez)

What is it with The Guardians and slow learners? That is certainly a question that we are looking forward to answering very soon but for now we are looking at their heavyweight representative Mauricio Ascaciba and he seems to be so far behind the rest of the pack in terms of skills that we wonder if he has actually trained at all? Still, he is said to have a granite chin thought that isn't going to help him if all he has been doing is marching up and down some strip mall mcdojo all camp. We can only hope that he has been spending more time in the weights section of the gym then anywhere else and that is the reason for his seemingly lack of progress. He is managed by Matty Fernandez who is most famous for sticking his nose in where it doesn't belong and of whom has a career best of #121. So, Ascaciba in at number seven but quite honestly, this list was drawn up some time ago and I can't be bothered to move people around now otherwise his ranking would have been far lower.

#[8]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Heke Jogert
Heke Jogert (Marky Mark)

What a commotion for FinnFighters heavyweight rep Heke Jogert. Initially not slated to appear at this years AWC at all, he was duly called up for action when Bloody Gutz went inactive over the cut off period. If that were not bad enough, original manager Jorma Oltsu was already listed on the team with a middleweight and so would not be able to represent both fighters. Step in FinnFighters head honcho and former #1 Marky Mark who offered to take Jogert under his win and compete in his third AWC in a row. For a fighter that has missed a little training time, Jogert doesn't look to have suffered as badly as originally expected. A Muay Thai practitioner initially, his wrestling is becoming competent and his boxing, though still woeful, is at least also coming along. Those in his camp have been quoted as saying that Jogert can trouble any chin with both hands and feet though no one has commented on whether he can take one on the chin in return. Quite far down the list, expect Jogert to do much better overall than this initial placing of #8 but whether he has a future with new manager Mark after this tournament remains to be seen.

#[9]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Andre Salaam
Andre Salaam (Jason Smith)

The third and final member of Convicted Inc's zombie wagon is heavyweight Andre Salaam who had to undergo a radical weight gain procedure just to make the 265lbs minimum weight limit before the cut off. Managed by OG manager Jason “JBOMB” Smith who is now in his thirteenth year of service to the game, his best rank has been #3 which means he either doesn't listen to a word Karter says or that he has better things to do with his time then worry about this game. Salaam looks to be a determined gritty brawler type who will use a strong wrestling base to grind down his opponents in the clinch whilst trying to avoid the ground altogether. He was a last minute pick at heavyweight having already been signed to RISE Fight League (the premier 380k org in the game) so it's possible that he hasn't necessarily been focussed on some of the things you normally would for a tournament such as this. Long term future is murky with his short to mid term prospects likely very dependent on how things go for him here.

#[10]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Zac Zane
Zac Zane (Golden Finch)

The Golden Team's heavyweight representative Zac Zane has wasted no time sitting around at the start of his professional MMA career and will be coming into the tournament with a winning record of 2-0. He has also looked mighty impressive so far with both of those victory coming by way of first round KO. Of course, the downside to being so active so soon is that he has likely spent a little less time in the gym than some of his tournament rivals and that could be the reason why he seems just a step or two behind in terms of current skills. He could find himself struggling against some of the more well trained in the division though it seems almost silly to suggest such a thing when he is already competing and winning. Managed by Golden Team leader Golden Finch who has a career best of #27, Zane was already on his way to a great start in MMA before his alliance decided to join and so you could assume that he will be continuing his journey afterwards as well. Very possible that Zane has been grossly underestimated by this writer but for the moment he comes in at #10 of our watch list.

#[11]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Joseph Henry Pageau
Joseph Henry Pageau (Cope T)

Canadian boxer Joseph Henry Pageau comes in at #11 on our watch list though he could just have easily have been picked a couple spots higher. The largest concern at the time of placement was what seemed to be a very tough time learning in the gym but since then he has seemingly picked up just a little. He is said to have quite the punch on him but so far he hasn't had a chance to show it as his professional cage debut was spent almost entirely on his back unsuccessfully fending off submission attempts. Like most others in this AWC heavyweight weight class, the ground is a clear source of weakness for Pageau but he seems to have learnt his lesson and has since achieved a blue belt in BJJ. He is guided by experienced manager Cope T who has a career best of #39 and will be representing Team Panda in his first AWC. Could be a good outside bet to cause some trouble in the end but generally not considered to be amongst the very best of prospects in the tournament overall.

#[12]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Android Eighteen
Android Eighteen (Raichu Kong)

Rumour has it that when Android Eighteen was a young boy, a fly grazed his cheek in the summer breeze and caused a large cut which bled for hours. The cut healed in time but it was just the first of a great many scars that Eighteen would accumulate over his body. Almost in rebellion of his official thin skin diagnoses, butterball Android Eighteen was convinced that he had a future in MMA by long time grifter Raichu Kong and now steps up to represent Brotherhood in their first official AWC participation. When he isn't bleeding all over the place, Eighteen actually has some wonderful boxing skills and a solid looking ground game but whether that is enough to overcome his rather large shortcomings, most will have their doubts. As mentioned already, the man responsibly for bringing this insurance liability to the tournament is Raichu Kong who has long been known to show little care or remorse for his clients. He has a career best of #209 but this is neither a true or fair reflection of his evil genius.

#[13]

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Derrick Thomas
Derrick Thomas (Joe River)

It pains me to have Gentleman Joe River in last place on the watch list not solely because his fighter Derrick Thomas is on my own team but also because he now looks a hell of a lot better than when I first drew this list up. A superb kickboxing base, Thomas seems to have improved in ALL areas since initial inspection and now looks to be a rather decent all round fighter. He is said to be a determined type and at this weight class that must surely be a good thing? Manager Joe River has a career best of #6 but lately has been preoccupied with his fast pace high flying gambling lifestyle as well as heading up the biggest soybean mafia in the Midwest. A focussed Joe River is a dangerous Joe River but what we will get is still to be determined. Whether his fighter Derrick Thomas has any future after this tournament we are almost certain depends on his results during.

Jorma Oltsu, Maki is rumoured to have some ungodly potential in the world of MMATycoon but recently some concerns have arisen concerning his training and it begs the question; just what is going on over there at Jorzi GYM in Helsinki? Is Oltsu concentrating on his athletic state first in order to get a physical advantage over his opponents or is this natural born scrapper struggling to pick up the all round fundamentals of the fight game? We are very close to finding out but there is a real risk here that Maki could find himself being beaten by those with less potential in the long run but who are naturally gifted learners right now.

Normally i focus tycoon too much, but recent weeks i have had other things to do, so i havent been focusing 100% into tycoon. I can say that i cannot tell what we are training👍

Overall great round for FF. Back into normal routine.

2022 Alliance World Championships

ROUND 1 - RECAP

With the 2022 AWC tournament now underway, we can finally begin to piece together the moving parts of the championship puzzle.

No real surprises this round with some of the more fancied alliances putting in tremendous performances. Let's take a brief recap of the round one action.

Convicted Inc def. Super SMESH Bros 2

The Convicted Inc zombie wagon began it's march to the capitol and with flag waving head honcho Chris Karter at the forefront screaming “STOP THE STEAL!!” It wasn't quite the rout that they might have expected against an such unfancied Super SMESH Bros 2 team but they got the win nonetheless and that is ALL that matters.

Convicted Inc's star bantamweight prospect Charles Eric Cheese put his angry parent repelling fighting system into practice for the first time and it seemed to hold up very well in the face of SSB2's Rickson Bravo's relentless attempts to drag the fight down to the ground. Unable to get in close, Cheese battered the BJJ brown belt with shots to the head and body, dispatching him rather quickly in just over a minute of the first round. No more back alley beat downs for Mr. Cheese anymore, that's for sure.

Next up was Convicted's Willie Diggs who managed to seal the win for his alliance with a rather clinch rapey performance over SSB2's Gord Ryan. Ryan tried his best to get himself into the fight and return fire but in the end it was no good and Diggs was able to overpower him in close quarters and get TKO stoppage around the 3:30 mark.

A consolatory victory for Super SMESH Bros at heavyweight however as their man Danyaal Zahedi showed off his horse meat punching power and collecting a first round KO victory over Convicted Inc's Andre Salaam. Salaam for his part showed some decent heart as he picked himself up off the ground on two occasions before the final KO but it was just all one way traffic after the first.

A 2-1 victory for Convicted Inc in the end but an unsurprising result overall. As expected, both Cheese and Diggs looked dangerous but with Salaam a possible weak link in the trio.
Still early days for Super SMESH Bros 2 but with the firepower possessed by heavyweight Danyaal Zahedi, they just might be able to build a decent little run down the line.

Team Panda def. Brotherhood

Once trusted allies but now bitter rivals, Team Panda brushed aside their former brothers in arms Brotherhood and getting themselves off to a great start in a potentially already crumbling season.

Bantamweight and Team Panda captain Otto McBean managed to get the quick takedown on Brotherhoods Chilli Bloke and traded some quick submission attempts back and forward before managing to catch a kimura just over a minute in.

Some rather poor striking littered the middleweight match up between Panda's Amazing Billy and Brotherhood's Juha Maenpaa but it was very likely the several takedowns from Billy that sealed the deal for him in the judges eyes. It wasn't a great fight by any stretch but it was active and with both fighters doing their best to win.

There was no consolation victory for Brotherhood in this one however as team captain and former competitive eater Android Eighteen was brushed aside in just nineteen seconds by Team Panda's Joseph Henry Pageau. A missed combination from Eighteen was all that it took for Pageau to punish him countering with a massive right hand that opened him up and put him on queer street. A further jab and another right knocked Eighteen to the ground and from there it was pretty much all she wrote.

Three fights to zero for Team Panda and a result they will no doubt be very pleased with. Bad news for them however at 185lbs as Amazing Billy seems to have gone inactive. Unless they can find a replacement quickly it will be left solely to captain Otto McBean and heavyweight Joseph Henry Pageau to fly the flag.
Not too many positives to take away for poor Brotherhood but it is still early days and perhaps we can put this down to simply opening round jitters?

Keyboard Warriors 1 def. Keyboard Warriors 2

Just like the premise of some old 80's martial arts action movie, the reigning AWC champions Keyboard Warriors were pitted against each other in the first round and forced fight in a battle to the DEATH! OK, not actually to the death but still, it was a bloodbath of epic proportions and one that threatened to tear the very fabric of the cheesemeisters apart.

It was the Keyboard Warriors first team that drew first blood with Eh Phuthong edging out team two captain Akio Kurosaki. Over two-hundred and fifty shots thrown between the two of them tells you the frantic pace this fight was fought at. Not much in it overall but the slightly better accuracy of Phuthong likely earning him the win.

A more decisive result in the middleweight match up as team one's Smash Adams got the KO victory over Afa Nbaku in the second round. Coming into this fight, Nbaku was said to be able to take a punch and he certainly showed his ability to do so as Adams absolutely battered him inside the clinch. There is only so much a noggin can take however and after a ferocious medley of punches, knees and elbows, Nbaku's finally gave out almost two minutes into the second round.

With victory out of reach it was down to team two's bloat face Kush Cake to try and win back a little pride and that's exactly what he did when he earned a second round TKO over highly regarded prospect Kurt Zweihander. Both fighters seemed to have similar game plans but on this occasion it was Cake who was able to beat Zweihander to the punch inside of the clinch and put him away around one minute thirty of the second round.

A close battle as expected with Keyboard Warriors 1 emerging victorious from the death pit. Some great fighters here from both team so with this awful match up out of the way, we can now sit back and see what the reigning champs can do against the other alliances of the tournament.

The Stepdads def. Golden Team

Always the bridesmaid and never the bride; could this be the year that The Stepdads finally call themselves AWC champions? Certainly a strong possibility after this showing against newcomers Golden Team.

A grappling clinic on display in this one with the Golden Team's Unang Zemin's perceived skill advantage completely nullified by The Stepdads human blanket Wingers Son. Zemin did at least try to make a fight out of it but Son wasn't having any of it and was instead very content to throw out weak submission attempts in order to trick the referee into thinking he was active and the judges into thinking he was the deserved winner.

Things started to get rather brutal heading into the middleweight bout between The Stepdads Panagiotis Nikolau and Golden Teams Freddie Hart. There was no real mystery as to Nikolau's intentions here but Hart was seemingly powerless to resist getting caught up in the big man's clinch and pummelled into a quick and painful first round TKO loss.

Coming into the heavyweight bout already two fights down, any hope of redemption lay squarely on the shoulders of Golden Team captain Zac Zane. Facing the number one prospect of the weight division however was just far too much at this stage and The Stepdads Jimmy Labradoodle was easily able to impose his destructive clinch game on the helpless Zane who was barely even able to get of a strike of his own in close quarters. He did have his moments early on in the fight however and was able to tag Labradoodle opening a nice cut on the face.

A complete shutout for championship challengers The Stepdads and a great start to begin their 2022 campaign. All three fighters on their team look to be rock solid so it's going to be great fun tracking them through this tournament.
An extremely unfortunate opening round match up for new boys Golden Team and on this occasion just simply not able to hang with one of the better alliances in the game. The big question from here is can they recover and go on to have a reasonable season? Perhaps even qualify for the playoffs? There's still plenty of time to get up from this beat down.

FinnFighters def. The Guardians

Another old, established team that has always shown promise in this tournament is FinnFighters and they too are in the hunt for a third times a charm AWC gold medal. If this showing against returning alliance The Guardians is anything to go by, they also have a hell of a chance of claiming the championship too.

The FinnFighters bantamweight fighter Raja Jooseppi spent the first minute of his fight against The Guardians Slim Slow trying to match him on the feet and getting pieced up in the process. Very wisely, he decided to take the fight to the floor where Slow was a sitting duck for Jooseppi's bone rattling ground and pound. A few good shots from mount was all she wrote for Slow and Jooseppi claimed his first win of the tournament.

Power and accuracy were the order of the day in this middleweight battle with FinnFighters star prospect Seppo Maki claiming a first round KO victory over The Guardians Cathal Doherty. Doherty certainly was eager as he went head hunting against the strong favourite Maki but accurate not so much, missing shot after shot. Maki on the other hand was cool and calculated with practically everything he threw finding it's mark and with some extra pep on each one too. Close to the third minute of the first round, Doherty's granite chin could hold no longer as a final left hook sent the referee running in to protect him

Due to reasons out of anyone's control, the final heavyweight match up was a little bit of a let down as The Guardians Mauricio Ascaciba was effectively managerless coming into this one. With no one to wipe his brown or offer him a refreshing beverage when he needed one, Ascaciba was quickly mowed down by FinnFighters Heke Jogert who himself had found himself in the midst of manager problems earlier on.

FinnFighters emerge with one very solid looking team and, to parrot what has already been said about some other alliance teams, it's going to be great fun watching them compete during this third season of the AWC.
The Guardians already suffered a terrible time in 2021 and this outing will do nothing to soothe the feeling of being snake bit once again and right at the start of the tournament. Let's see if they can rally and come back from this.

Super SMESH Bros 1 def. One Man Wolf Pack 2

Perhaps the dark horses of this year's tournament, the Super SMESH Bros first team got off to a very lucky start with a rather shady victory over the gallant One Man Wolf Pack second team.

Lady luck first appeared in the bantamweight match up as SSB1 managerless Tim Riggins managed to find a way to win against the also managerless Smoke Junior. As expected, superior striker Junior was having his way against Riggins on the feet but just one single successful takedown out of ten attempts was all it took to change to momentum of the fight and earn Riggins a first round submission victory.

A shockingly poor decision rendered by the judges handed Super SMESH Bros 1 their second victory and the match overall. Clearly paid off beforehand, the judges seemed to favour SSB1's Adrian Adamos inaccurate spazzy Tasmanian devil style over OMWP2's Bobby Boucher far more crisp and precise boxing. Barely able to stand and gasping for air as the referee raised his hand, Adamos ought to be ashamed of himself accepting victory this way.

Sickened by what he had just witnessed, OMWP2's Derrick Thomas took it upon himself to teach these young upstarts a lesson knocking out Marcel Thibodeaux in the second round. Allowing Thibodeaux to wear himself out during round one, Thomas rope a doped inside of the clinch and then took his moment in round two with a spectacular counter right that ended the fight there and then.

A 2-1 victory for the newcomers Super SMESH Bros 1, they certainly have some positives to take away but the jury is still very much out as to whether they will be able to hang with the bigger alliances in the game.
One Man Wold Pack 2 were never expected to win but to lose in such a dishonest manner will leave a very bitter taste in the mouth for sure. Derrick Thomas the shining light in the team currently, will he be able to lead the way back into play-off contention?

2022 Alliance World Championships

ROUND 2 - RECAP

Some big clashes in round two and some interesting results to ponder as we move forward.

The Stepdads def. Keyboard Warriors 1

An early epic showdown came to us in round two with reigning champions Keyboard Warriors taking on the two time title contenders The Stepdads. It was unsurprisingly close but in the end, the mighty Stepdads walked away with the win and in doing so remained one of only three teams left undefeated.

First up at 135lbs we had The Stepdads Wingers Son who was coming in off of a superb victory over a frighteningly quick learner in Unang Zemin and he was taking on Keyboard Warriors Eh Phuthong who was fresh off a bittersweet win over alliance mate Akio Kurosaki.

Son clearly wanted none of the stand up which was probably the smart play and spent most of the fight attempting to close the distance. He did spend a decent amount of time in control on the ground in round three but the judges obviously hadn't ever taking a grappling class and awarded all three rounds to Eh Phuthong. Certainly grounds for some questions there but no one would argue with the overall result. First blood to Keyboard Warriors.

Next up we had the middleweights with The Stepdads Panagiotis Nikolau taking on Keyboard Warriors Smash Adams. Both fighters were highly regarded at the start of this tournament and both were coming in off of impressive wins during round one so this fight already had a lot of eyes upon it.

It certainly wasn't a dull fight with both fighters putting out a very impressive volume of strikes but it was evident with each passing round that Nikolau was just that little bit further ahead with his superior accuracy. A unanimous 30-27 across the board for Nikolau who tied the overall score 1-1. Adams did look good in the brief moments they settled in the clinch though and had many fans expressing their disappointment that he didn't throw more kicks but hindsight is always a kick in the balls isn't it?

Always exciting when the heavyweights have to come in and decide the result and this one also had a lot of eyes waiting to see what would go down. The Stepdads 1-0 Jimmy Labradoodle taking on Keyboard Warriors #3 pre-tournament ranked fighter Kurt Zweihander who had actually managed to lose his opening round bout to team mate Kush Cake.

The bell had barely finished ringing before Zweihander had opened up Labradoodle with a mere jab  and this in turn prompted Labradoodle to, rather smartly, move straight into the clinch where he was clearly best prepared. He softened up Zweihander rather well before managing to drop his foe with a big uppercut. To his credit, Zweihander worked his way back up the cage but was only met with some more of the same only this time there was no coming back and he fell to his second loss in a row.

A big win overall for The Stepdads alliance who now sit in second place in the Swiss League qualifying table. There's still plenty of fights left of this phase but you'd have to expect something truly ridiculous to happen in order for this team not to make it into the Play-offs.

A tough loss for Keyboard Warriors who drop down into seventh place in the table and finish out round two with a 1-1 record. No shame in the result here and I doubt there would be any reason to panic at this point.

Team Panda def. Super SMESH Bros 1

Team Panda, fresh off their win over friend-turned-foe rivals Brotherhood, found themselves facing the unlikely odds of taking on dark horse alliance Super SMESH Bros 1 with only two of their three fighters ready for action. Super SMESH Bros 1 were very likely licking their lips at the tasty morsel on offer after their win over One Man Wolf Pack's second string team but boy were they in for a surprise.

First up was Panda team captain Otto McBean taking on SSB1 substitute fighter Lester Green who was stepping in for the inactive Tim Riggins. McBean was coming in off of a win over Chilli Bloke in his professional debut whilst Green had already racked up a professional record of 2-1 over at the Sensei fight org.

For just over a minute of the fight, McBean floundered away at attempting to get the fight to the floor whilst Green winged head punches with mean intent. Fortunately for McBean, only a few of them landed and he was soon rewarded with a takedown into half guard. Green, clearly uncomfortable on the floor, made the fatal mistake of giving up his back and the tiny fighter from Edinburgh, Scotland instantly capitalised getting the submission victory.

A free victory for Super SMESH Bros 1 evened the score 1-1 as Team Panda's Amazing Billy had seemingly disappeared and no replacement found. This meant that SSB1's team captain Adrian Adamos was free to sit back, relax and watch the show unfold knowing that a win for his team was safely in the bag. Would that be enough? It was down to the heavyweights to find out.

On paper it looked to be a fairly even contest. Marcel Thibodeaux started the tournament as a fairly good prospect at #4 on the pre-tournament rankings list though had faltered in his opening round fight to One Man Wolf Pack's Derrick Thomas. Pageua on the other hand had flown under the radar on the pre-tournament rankings coming in at #11 but had a tremendous first round victory against Brotherhood's Android Eighteen.

There wasn't much to this fight to be honest. Thibodeaux clinched up almost as soon as the fight had started but neither fighter could quite get the upper hand there. From range however was another story with Pageau landing heavy shots at will that clubbed Thibodeaux senseless. Close to the end of minute two, Pageau turned out the lights for his opponent and had secured the massive upset victory for his handicapped team.

In a surprise turn of events, Team Panda lead the table in first place and remain one of only three teams yet to lose. Of course, coming in a fight down right from the start is not going to do them any favours and you get the feeling this current high flying is set to come crashing down at any point.

Super SMESH Bros 1 drop down to number 8 in the league and managed to cling onto the final qualifying spot for the playoffs. Though plenty of time left in phase one, they find themselves in a precarious position and will need to be careful not to drop to too many defeats.

FinnFighters def. Convicted Inc

It didn't take much at all for the wheels to fall off on the Convicted Inc war wagon, just a bunch of angry, toothless hockey loving Finns to put them in their place. Both teams were coming in off of wins in the first round and with the addition of current #1 manager Chris Karter to the Convicted Inc side, this one was set to be fireworks.

Convicted Inc's resident nonce Charles Eric Cheese was up first and was shamelessly sporting his NAMBLA members patch proudly on his rather short trunks. He was taking on FinnFighters Raja Jooseppi who was fresh off of a win his opening round fight against The Guardians Slim Slow.

A bad first round for Cheese who found himself being manhandled on the ground by his opponents superior wrestling skills though he was able to avoid taking much damage from Jooseppi's ground and pound. In the second, Cheese started to land some meaningful shots and though Jooseppi was able to get another takedown after being rocked, the referee soon stood them back up and Cheese resumed teeing off on his opponents head. Agonisingly close to surviving the round, Jooseppi was KO'd at 4:59 of the round 2.

The middleweight match up was a fight that many were looking forward to with Chris Karter protege Willie Diggs taking on highly regarded Seppo Maki from the FinnFighters. Both 1-0 from the first round, it was time for someone to take an early loss.

It wasn't a terrible fight by any stretch of the imagination but it was extremely one sided as Maki peppered Digg's with stinging jabs and kicks for the entire three rounds. Diggs tooks his lumps though and even survived a little scare in round two when Maki wobbled him with a stiff jab. A decent show of heart perhaps from the Convicted man but overall disappointing as Maki evened the score 1-1 for his team with a unanimous decision win.

Once more it was down to the heavyweights to decide the result of this meeting and on this occasion we had Convicted's Andre Salaam in one corner and FinnFighters Heke Jogert on the other. Salaam had been recovering from a brutal first round KO loss at the hands of Super SMESH Bro's Danyaal Zahedi whereas Jogert had plenty of time to prepare following his quick TKO win over The Guardians Mauricio Ascaciba.

Both guys came out swinging and found themselves with nasty cuts within the first thirty seconds of the fight. Jogert seemed a little more accurate however and it wasn't long before he dropped Salaam with a big right hand. Salaam managed to regain his senses and clinched up where he looked far more comfortable and started to land shots of his own but every time the fight would end up back at range, Jogert looked far superior. A little past midway of the round, Jogert landed a ferocious head kick that put dropped Salaam and forced the referee to jump in and call the fight. Jogert had done it and secured the victory for his team.

A superb victory for the FinnFighters who now sit in third place in the table and remain one of only three undefeated teams left in the tournament. They seem to have a very solid team on their hands here and they must be feeling rather sure of their chances of making it into the play-off finals.

This loss marked the third in a row for Convicted Inc against the FinnFighters in AWC competition with not even head honcho Chris Karter's presence seemingly able to shift the balance of power towards them. Still, they remain within the top eight qualifying slots and losing a close battle against a tough team is no reason for them to panic.

One Man Wolf Pack 1 def. The Guardians

After a fortunate but completely random and fair first round bye, One Man Wolf Pack's first string team were finally in action and they were taking on the battered and bruised team of The Guardians. The Guardians membership had been through the ringer of late and it showed during their round one defeat against FinnFighters. They were heavy underdogs coming into this one too but there was always the chance of an upset.

First up at bantamweight was One Man Wolf Pack's Rudy Beckwith and he was taking on 0-1 Slim Slow from The Guardians. Beckwith clinched up immediately after the bell and after a few missed shots inside from Slow, casually pulled guard straight into a slick triangle choke submission. First blood to One Man Wolf Pack

Onto the middleweights where The Guardians team captain Cathal Doherty was taking on OMWP's Jules Ann. Doherty suffered at the hands of FinnFighter Seppo Maki in the opening round and would have been looking for a little redemption in this one. Unfortunately it wasn't to be as Ann went head hunting on Doherty whilst avoiding everything that was being returned his way.

Quick and brutal was the end result and with Doherty suffering his second KO loss of the tournament. Juless Ann with a forty-five second first round KO in his first AWC fight and sealing the win for his alliance in the process.

There was little hope for even a consolation win for The Guardians as their man Mauricio Ascaciba was coming in as the heavy underdog against One Man Wolf Packs Orn Frostulfsson. Frostulfsson making his debut whereas Ascaciba recovering from a first round TKO loss to FinnFighters Heke Jogert.

The bout went largely as expected with Frostulfsson landing heavy shots at range before moving into the clinch to finish the job. Ascaciba was game however and his aggressive style made for an exciting fight without question. In the end though, Frostulfsson was just a couple of levels above here and it showed as he picked up the first round KO in his AWC debut.

A solid performance from One Man Wolf Pack who did all that could be asked of them. They finish up round two in forth place in the table with a perfect 3-0 fight record.

Another tough loss for The Guardians team who now drop to last place in the table. It was always going to be rough going for them with their roster turmoil at the start of this tournament but there's no way that they will be ready to accept another last place finish in the AWC. Still plenty of time left to turn things around but they are going to need some improved performances if they are to do it.

One Man Wolf Pack 2 def. Brotherhood

After suffering a disgustingly cheap loss to Super SMUSH Bros 1, the One Man Wolf Pack gang were back in action and looking to take out all of their pent up frustrations on the Brotherhood alliance and rumour has it, they were going in prison style. Of course Brotherhood are used to such rough interactions and quite possible even enjoy some of them so I'm sure they had a great time in this regardless of the result.

First out of his cell was inmate Smoke Junior. He was tasked with putting a hit on Brotherhood's Chilli Bloke but apparently Bloke had already had the heads up that something was about to go down and was more than ready for him. Junior threw a little bit of everything but his main mode of attack seemed to a prison hug which Bloke didn't really mind. The fight went the entire fifteen minutes after which Bloke was awarded a unanimous decision win and gave Brotherhood a 1-0 lead.

The next hit was due to go down in the courtyard where OMWP's Bobby Boucher spotted his prey Juha Maenpaa lifting weights. Things escalated pretty quick but all we got was fifteen minutes of hen pecking at each other and very little damage. Boucher was a little bit more precise with his pecking however and that was enough to earn him the decision win.

With things tied up at one apiece, the final hit was due to go down in the showers. One Man Wolf Packs Derrick Thomas understood this was dangerous territory as Android Eighteen had a fearsome reputation as a shower room abuser. Because of this, Eighteen was usually left in solitude to have a good soap and sing Celine Dion songs at the top of his lungs and so, because of this, Thomas was easily able to get the jump on him. A couple of good shots and a big one-two combo was all it took for Thomas to rack up his second win of the tournament and take the match up 2-1 for his alliance.

A nice comeback victory for One Man Wolf Pack 2 puts them just one spot outside the qualifying zone in ninth place. An in-form Derrick Thomas clearly the biggest boon for this team so far and they will need to hope that he can maintain his level of performance going into the next round.

Brotherhood now drop to two losses in a row and with two of their team going 0-2 along with it. Chili Bloke the only fighter having been able to pick up a win so far but there is still time enough for things to turn around. Brotherhood aren't alone in being winless and they are at least currently avoiding the dreaded bottom of the table position. Qualification was always going to be a tough goal for them but still it is possible with the right results from here.

Super SMESH Bros 2 def. Keyboard Warriors 2

An unseen error from organiser officials denied Super SMESH Bros 2 a rightful victory over heavy hitters Convicted Inc but that clearly didn't deter them as they faced fellow B team from the Keyboard Warriors alliance. Keyboard Warriors 2 of course fresh off of their traumatic loss to their A-Team but looking to get back on track after such an awkward first round match up.

Something of a shock upset at 135lbs as SSB2's Rickson Bravo got the first round submission victory over Keyboard Warriors team captain Akio Kurosaki. After a brief moment in the clinch, Bravo was able to pull guard and proceeded to hit Kurosaki with a barrage of submission attempts, the tenth of which hit it's mark. Kurosaki slumps to two losses in a row whilst Bravo picks up his first win of the tournament.

At middleweight SSB2's Gord Ryan laid a pretty hefty beat down on Keyboard Warriors Afa Nbaku and he didn't take all that long to do it either. Both fighters came out swinging but Nbaku was having real trouble hitting the target. Some of these missed shots were easily countered by Ryan and ended up doing some real damage. After a couple of brutal knockdowns, Ryan decided to finish off his opponent whilst he was trying to wipe some vaseline out of his eyes, ending the bout at two minutes and ten seconds of the first round. The victory also gave his team the win overall.

There was to be no consolation prize for Keyboard Warriors at heavyweight as SSB2's Danyaal Zahedi clearly had an important meeting with his horse meat supplier. Opponent Kush Cake looked amped up and ready to go but no sooner had the bell rung to signal the start of the bout, it was ringing again to signal the end. Two big shots and five whole seconds was all it took to take that moon face bastard out and give Super Smesh Bros 2 the clean sweep.

A superb victory for the Smesh boys who now climb all the way up into fifth place (currently higher than their “A” team) Of course, as I keep on saying, it's early days and there is plenty of action left to go before we decide the final eight teams but if SSB2 can keep pulling off some nice wins like this, there's no reason why they can't hold on to this qualifying position.

A poor start for Keyboard Warriors 2 who now drop to 0-2 and sit currently in eleventh place. They are going to need to see some big improvements from key members of the team but mainly their captain Akio Kurosaki managed by dead weight alliance leader Louie DePalma.
