Nathan "The Russian Striker" Fedorov

Your favorite russian fighter has signed with RISE after Sensei closed up and Rise was able to get a great deal I guess

Also, I just got a nickname, The Russian Striker, I am ready to throw hands, to handle your body on the ground, smash your face, put my arms around your neck and make you sleep

Hope to don't get a lot of hate cuz I am from Russia, I am against that, I don't like that but I am russian, what can I do?

Benjamin Griffin

RISE Fight League, Lightweight Division

22w22.jpg

“I just wanted to put out this statement to say that I'm happy to be part of the RISE Fight League. I made my debut with Justice, who took me off the streets where I fought for ego. SENSEI gave me exposure to a broader audience and got me addicted to getting paid. And now with RISE I will test myself and see just how far this ship will sail. I know I ain't some world beater but I have a few good fights in me.

As for Sage Rochester- I don't have anything bad to say about the kid. My girlfriend tells me he's real pretty- I don't like that. I'm going to make him a whole lot less pretty. He has the potential to have a solid career ahead of him but his winning streak stops here. I wish him the best but I'm gonna hurt him real bad.

After this win I'm looking forward to facing someone like Splerkin or MacAlister. I figure Toby will be fighting for the gold next but he was my goal back when we fought for SENSEI. He's undefeated and loves to get in your teeth and trade shots. Plus you know them Scottish boys love to bang. I'm out.”

RISE - VIP PRIZE UPDATE

Congratulations to Derrick Thomas who becomes the very first recipient of the RISE VIP PRIZE.

His run throughout the AWC tournament in the heavyweight division has been absolutely flawless and single-handedly, he carried his team far further than they otherwise would have hoped. Topping of this amazing feat to actually win the prize was his first round destruction of fellow undefeated behemoth Danyaal Zahedi.

Congratulation to Derrick Thomas and his manager Joe River who has been credited 3 months VIP as reward.

Great, just signed the contract for the upcoming fight, can't wait to go in there and prove why people call me The Russian Striker, why I am not a rat like others, I am willing to fight anyone, any rules, any weight, I will never turn my back on challenges, just like my recent fight, everyone knew there is a small chance going out of that cage with the W under my record because there was a gap between ages and experience, but yea, time to get that ground game and keep stand up game at the same level, see you next month in the cage!

RISE - VIP PRIZE UPDATE

Congratulations to Rudy Beckwith who becomes the second recipient of the RISE VIP PRIZE.

An absolutely flawless run throughout the AWC tournament has helped propel his team into the upcoming finals and into an intense showdown with divisional rival Charles Eric Cheese. Making Beckwith's run all the more impressive is the fact that a change of management wasn't able to derail his top tier performances.

It almost didn't happen however as RISE 135lb division champion Deacon Fries was well on his way to claiming the prize. With a streak of six already in the bag, his first title defence against Zombie Lee would have given him the 7 needed but alas it wasn't to be paving for way for Beckwith to collect the prize for himself.

Congratulation to Rudy Beckwith and his manager Bjorn O'Donnel who has been credited 3 months VIP as reward.

Anthony Santana (5-1)

“After a disappointing loss against Mike Hunt I’ve been brought back down to earth. Realizing my talent and skill, but also that I can sharpen the tools in my tool box. I’m gonna take some time off to refine my skills in the gym. Unless the right fight and opponent arises that is. Mike Hunt we will face each other again one day and the result will be very different. Congratulations regardless, big Sosa will be back!”

Since Jackson Alvarez's manager is big ol' vagina and wants none of Saetang, it only makes sense for Saetang to fight for some waist bling.

I don't blame him to be honest. Alvarez's time at the top is over. 25 year old creation and either not a fast learning one or not a well trained one.

I would agree that Saetang would be next in line for the title.

Most of the other divisions are pretty solid with lots of guys on streaks working towards the title. This division needs a little time to settle though.

It's an ID restricted org! Managers shouldn't pick and choose fights based on who they think they can or can't beat.  See Tower and Kristiansen as references.  Took fights I absolutely knew they would lose(I fucked up the starting builds, my fault they're struggling really), but their opponents fit ID requirements, so the fight was legit.

RISE 91 OFFICIAL PREVIEW

8/19/22 MAIN CARD

Max Planck (5-2-0) vs Lennox Lewis (2-1-0)

Hello everyone in the audience, we are opening our main card of RISE 91 with some Heavyweight action on our way.

All I can tell you is that this fight will be fireworks from the opening bell, both competitors know well that they possess a lot of power in their hands and, It might be coming down to which one of them connects flush first.

On the one hand we have Planck who is coming of a loss in the first round against Inhanamoto, and on the other hand we have Lewis that is coming of a TKO win against Brown also in the first round, so what do we have here? A first-round finish ladies and gentlemen If I had to choose, but we have to remember that both of these fighters have advantages in other area than their opponent, Planck is a better boxer and Lewis has a better Muay Thai so which one of them is the favorite?

If I had to choose, I would side with the more experienced Planck, I feel like even after his loss he still is a big threat to his opponent and I feel like his boxing will do the work for him

My official predicton: Planck via 1st round KO

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Vasil Dankovich (6-1-1) vs Maurice “Mauro” Rollo (2-1-0)

We are keeping up the action in the heavyweight division, and now we have a bit of a grappler vs striker matchup on our hands here.

Dankovich is a fearsome KO artist with all his wins coming by the way of KO, all in the first round may I add and he’s currently riding a 3-fight streak without losing. To add something to that he has a massive advantage over his opponent in both Boxing and Muay Thai and I do really mean that they are massive.

His opponent Maurice is a young 19-year-old Greek who's getting thrown in there against a tough opponent already, he is riding a 2-fight win streak himself but will his wrestling and BJJ be enough to get this win?
I do think that Vasil will get this fight done quickly, this is too big of a step-up for Maurice, and I feel like he will get stopped in this bout and If I were his manager I would really think next time about picking his next opponent for such a young fighter.

My official prediction: Dankovich via 2nd round KO

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

Rodrigo Carioni (2-1-0) vs Nedjeljko Markovic (4-1-0)

We are now dropping down to see a bout In the Light Heavyweight division between two young and maybe a little unexperienced fighters, but trust me when I say this, it will be an exciting fight.

We might see the same thing as in our first main card bout between Planck and Lewis, it is basically the same match-up between a 2 good strikers with one having an edge in boxing and other in Muay Thai, but there’s a difference in this bout, both fighters are coming off a loss and both of those losses are due to a KO.

Carioni got knocked out in little over a minute against Hase while Markovic was getting some more medical treatment because of him being knocked out cold via a left hook by the Master Leader in the second round.
This fight is not about the skills of the two fighters, but it is mostly about on how well they will handle their devastating losses. I do think that both of them might be more careful than in their last bouts and we might see a bit of a chess match in there and knowing that I do side with the better Boxers in these kind of scenarios I will do it again.

My official prediction: Carioni via Unanimous Decision

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

THE CO-MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING AND IT IS FOR THE FEATHERWEIGHT TITLE

THE CHAMP Charles MESQUITA (7-2-0)

vs

THE CHALLENGER LaDaniel STRONG (2-1-0)

You might think that Strong is being thrown out just to be the first title defense for our newly crowned champion in Mesquita, but you couldn’t be more in the wrong about it.

LaDaniel Strong might seem to be a bit too unexperienced or untested in the octagon, but in my opinion, he showed that he can pose a big threat to the current champ, just look at his fight against the former title challenger in Arthur Pugsley, a PHENOMENAL Wrestler himself and what happened in their fight?

Strong made it look easy, like Pugsley never even belonged in there with him in the first place, he stuffed ALL 6 of Pugsleys takedown attempts in that fight and knocked him out in the first round with ease.

We absolutely cannot forget about our champ though! Charles Mesquita showed up in his rematch for the title against David Cummings, he managed to survive all of his submission attempts to beat the living hell out of his opponent to become the new 145 champion.

What is the plan for both of the fighters? Obviously, one wants to keep it on the feet and the other will try to take the fight to the ground.

Strong has a massive advantage when it comes to his striking over Charles, but Mesquita knows how to get the fight to the ground for him to dominate it from there.

Do I think that he will be able to do it in this fight? I don’t think so, just looking at LaDaniels fight against Pugsley, I have to say that it was impressive for me enough to think that Charles won’t be able to take this fight to the ground. I believe that we will see a striking clinic from the challenger,

My official prediction:  via 1st round KO AND YOUR NEW 145 CHAMPION LADANIEL STRONG

*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*-*

AND NOW ONTO THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING, TAKING PLACE IN THE MIDDLEWEIGHT DIVISION

Leonardo ESPOSITO (6-1-0) vs Honza HOHOL (7-2-0)

LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, we are bringing you a middleweight clash between 2 hungry individuals, one of them is our former champion, that recently bounced back after losing twice in a row with one of them being a loss of his title but now that he is back in the win column, he is ready to conquer the division once again, but in front of him he has a big test in the most recent title challenger that came up short against our current champion in Kane Thoupos.

Honza Hohol against Leonardo Esposito might be a fight with title implications on the line but considering how the top of the middleweight division is stacked at the moment, both fighters might need a statement to be in those kinds of talks so hopefully we will see a good spectacle.
Both fighters will get in there hungry for a win but which one of them wants it more?

Is it the former champion? The terrific grappler that once ruled over the division and now wants to get back his throne?
Or maybe it is the most recent challenger for the belt that wants to show that he can solve the mystery of our current champion?
Esposito will have a striking advantage in this one, but I feel like the main story of this fight might be the fact that Leonardo will anticipate takedown attempts from Honza, and he will respect him and will always keep that in mind, that one bad move and he might be taking another loss on his record.

Will his mind be able to handle that takedown threat that Hohol possesses? Or will he crumble under it and we will see another win for the former champion?

If I had to pick I would say that Hohol will take the win in this one, I feel like the takedown threats might be too much for Esposito and he might focus too much on them, Hohol is not the type of grappler that Sauvage Thibodeaux was that Esposito defeated before, Sauvage was looking to take this fight to the ground which he was successful with  and to get a submission, Honza will try to take this fight to the ground to batter Esposito in there and I feel like he will not survive it for the whole fight.

My official prediction: Hohol via 3rd round KO

RISE 92 OFFICIAL PREVIEW

8/21 MAIN CARD

Oskar “Super Snake” ARNASON (4-4-0) vs Gabriel SOARES (4-3-0)

We are opening the main card with a bout in lightweight division, between 2 fighters that are eager to get back onto the winning track, but the way they careers went so far are so different to each other.
Oskar Arnason was once considered a hot prospect when he signed with the promotion and defeated Dominik Dlask in his promotional debut moving him up into 4-0 status, but then everything fell apart and currently Arnason is on a 4-fight losing skid, when in his last bout he lost to previously mentioned Dlask.

On the other hand, we have Gabriel Soares, once a title contender that came up short against Jackson Alvarez in his first and only successful title defense, that bounced back with a win over, yes you guessed it Dominik Dlask, but after that he came up short losing in 48 seconds to Tagnarach Kamara.

By just looking at the form that both fighters are showing lately we can clearly see that one of them has mixed results when the other is completely on the decline, I do think that might be the key factor in this one and I favor Gabriel Soares to win, he has advantages in every single area so the bad streak of Arnason might just be a cherry on top.

My official prediction: Soares via 1st round submission

Maximus “The Emporer” MERIDIUS (4-1-0) vs Haruki “Japmerican” JOSHNSON (4-0-0)

In the next bout we are giving you a  clash between two light heavyweight prospects that are currently riding hot streaks.
Maximus is currently on a 4-fight winning streak with his only career loss coming in his debut, after that he managed to bounce back with 4 good wins, and he has shown that he is hungry to get into the top of this division with his latest outing when he knocked out Noite Luge in 90 seconds of the first round, but his opponent wants to prove to everyone that he shouldn’t be overlooked in his pursuit of the title.

Haruki is currently undefeated and will seek to keep it that way after this fight but it will be a tough task considering that his opponent is also very well prepared and highly motivated, the winning ratio is the same on both sides, both fighters have 2 wins with KOs under their belts and 2 with decisions, so both of them are very well prepared for either knocking their opponent out or to go the full distance.

I would say that the momentum favors one fighter than the other, but in this bout It’s really hard to pick which one of those fighters will have an advantage due to that department and in overall in this bout considering that they are pretty equal to each other in most departments with slight advantages here and there from both sides.

I would love to give a decisive prediction in this bout, but this is just too hard to do, I would slightly favor Johnson to win though considering that he will try to keep his undefeated record in there and it might motivate him a little more to get it done.

My official prediction: Johnson via unanimous decision

Kosami “Sam” AKAGAWA (4-4-1) vs Shane FERGUSSON (4-3-0)

We are going down in weight a little with a middleweight bout on our hands between 2 fighters that had some rocky moments in their careers but are looking to keep their wins coming.

Kosami Akagawa is coming of a win in the second round by KO over Puyah Mamouhdi which elevated him to an equal 4-4 record, but will he be able to move into the positive side of it?

Considering that in front of him will be standing a tough test in Shane Fergusson that’s currently been on a roll with 3 wins in a row with all of them coming by the way of a KO, and 2 of them earning the KO of the night, for example like in his last fight against Nurmagomedov where he knocked him out in the second round with a Superman Punch and with that win he has a positive record for the first time in his career but will he extend his winning streak?

I do favor Shane to win it inside the distance, why is that you may ask?
I do think that the advantage that Shane has in Muay Thai and the way he mixes it up with his boxing might be crucial to him winning this bout, but we also have to consider that Akagawa didn’t seem in well condition at our ceremonial weigh-ins and he looks tired and not in good shape which further convinces me that Shane Fergusson will be victorious in this bout and will extend his winning streak to 4 in a row.

My official prediction: Fergusson via 2nd round KO

CO-MAIN EVENT
Harry Alonzo "Sundance Kid" Longabaugh (4-0-0) vs Amarillo Brillo (4-3-0)

We are still dropping down with weight classes the further we go since the bout number 7, so now we will take you to the welterweight division so you might guess where we will end up in the end but now let’s get back to the fight on our hands with a bout that on paper, while looking at the records of both of the fighters might seem like a mismatch but when you look at it closely it is definitely not.

The surging contender Harry Alonzo will seek to get another win in the promotion which will move him into 3-0 with RISE and 5-0 in his career, currently Harry is coming of a first round spectacular KO with a spinning back fist against Tobias Ahearn and will look to get another highlight reel into his collection and hopefully that performance bonus of the night, but he has to bypass a well-known grappler in Amarillo Brillo, who's unfortunately currently on a 2-fight losing streak against Peramaki via submission in the 3rd and Alexander Mesquita in the first by TKO so as we can probably tell he will try his bet to get back into the winning circle, but will he be able to that’s the real question when in front of him he will have a surging contender that’s not planning to stop anytime soon.

Alonzo has to keep in mind that even though in his recent outings Brillo was the losing side, he will still be dangerous when it comes to the grappling realm and his BJJ skills, but if Alonzo will be able to keep this fight on the feet, he should win it quite comfortably

I do favor Harry to win but I do think that there’s a slight factor that might make this fight a bit competitive and it is the threat of grappling from Brillo, so I would say it is 70%-30% on Alonzo winning it and of course inside the distance.

My official prediction: Longabaugh via 2nd round KO

THE MAIN EVENT OF THE EVENING:
Dominik DLASK (6-4-0) vs Richard MESQUITA (6-2-0)

Hopefully the rest of the card has you excited to watch the fights and attend the show. We will finish off the card with a BANG!

A lightweight bout where we will see the rematch between the two fighters that met against each other back at RISE 41 where Richard showed his superior BJJ skills and managed to submit Dlask in the first round with a triangle. Will the history repeat itself and the ground skills of Mesquita prevail once again?

I truly do think so, all 4 of Dominiks losses are due to a submission so it’s not a good sign considering their first outing and the level of BJJ that Richard Mesquita possesses.

Do I think that this fight will play out on the feet?

There’s no way for it to happen, Dlask is known for his aggressive wrestling and him willing to go for the takedown even against a dangerous BJJ artist, so having that in the back of our minds I do have to favor Mesquita to win, we will probably have a little Déjà vu while watching that fight.

Dlask will shot for a takedown, Mesquita will happily oblige and will even let Dlask take him down just so he can work him from the bottom and get a quick submission win in the first round, and that’s the whole story of that fight if you’ve asked me.

My official prediciton: Mesquita via 1st round submission
