Good fights. I thought it was a 5 rounder though…….probably wouldn’t have made it that far though.

For the record, only the ultimate final will be 5 rounds.

EDIT: For the record, only the ultimate final and 3rd/4th playoff will be 5 rounds.

Bracket updated.

Congrats to the winners!

Marius (GWad) has secured a place in the final and just needs to wait now. Three event rest in fact.

Percival Nerdspoof 3rd (PJ Jones) will fight the winner of the 'remainders' in a semi-final play-off for the second place in the final. He can rest for two events now.

The 'remainders' are Randy NoNeck (Tessin), Beckzod (Billy), Beznisko (Aleksey), and Ilmarinen (Pat). These fighters are paired up (see bracket) to fight it out over two events until only one is left standing. That winner will fight Nerdspoof, as explained above.

As they like to say at Little Lebowski Urban Achievers Gymnasium, you are all winners. You all deserve a big gold star for attendance and should all be very proud of yourselves for getting so far!

Wooo...I was nervous.. first I forgot to give my fighter 1 last rest session so I went in around 93/94%....Then watching the pbp I was afraid that while setting tactics on phone I did it backwards with my placement of numbers and thought I was going to lose this fight for doing the opposite of what I wanted to do..Good fight, had I not got the fight to the ground I might have been on the losing end!

When is round 8? is it next weekend?

A Randy man with No Neck appears to be the kryptonite to an Uzbek Gut Check!

Congrats on the win man. Despite being a dirty dirty shameful cowardly fighter with subs, I hope young Randy goes on to win it all 🙂

Funny fact - Winter Warfare ends in july...

One of the biggest tournament on forum probably.

Also... Fine poster I did LOL.

See you next year probably... LOL Or this winter?

I like tournaments since sometime.

Congrats for the winner!

Seriousy - Thanks for the poster! No one else offered, and I thought it was pretty cool!

I do think I'll do it again this year.

I will keep the things that made it good..

1. Huge prizes (even if it means an entry fee).

2. Open to everyone, regardless of rank or reputation.

3. Seeded. That was a good idea. Keeping the 'big names' apart in the early rounds. Small improvement - I will use manager's highest all-time (historical) rank rather than current.

4. Double elimination. Three of the final top four lost a fight at some point but came back in our first tourney!

4. Large tourney. Minimum 32 players.

5. Full month to train, between creation date and first fights. Might even increase to 6 weeks. This did encourage  a variety  of builds.

And, drawing on the experience of the first tourney, I hope to improve by..

1. No draws. A rule that decides draws and means no rematches.

2. Earlier start. October 1st creation. Nov 1st (or 14th) first round.

3. Faster conclusion (a). No 'preliminary rounds'. That was a nightmare, it slowed the pace terribly, and only meant that the winners suffered a training disadvantage. I will ensure we get a good round number to avoid this. It could mean a few people won't get in. Anyone who was in the last tourney will get priority, after that it will be decided by manager's highest (historical) rank.

4. Faster conclusion (b). I might begin the tourney as two conscutive competitions, halving the time it takes for the first 4-6 rounds to conclude. Then, when there are only 8 (or 16?) left in the two groups combined, match them in a new (possibly single elimination?) bracket. This has added benefit of making leading fighters fight again, so less training advantage to those in the lead. I should be able to work this out to time the tourney final for end of February (rather than mid-summer lol).

5. A poll to decide which weight division we should follow last year's welterweight with.

6. I'll make a serious effort to get even more of the 'top' managers to take part. Let's see who's chicken and who really has confidence.

7. Delegation. In addition to sponsors/artist/writers/bookies, I'll look for one or two people to help me run it. It was actually pretty hard work to keep everything up to date!

If anyone is wondering why I'm disclosing all this now, it's because I want this on the record to remind my future self! If I don't write it down I'll forget what I've learned by the timeI start the next one!
