I like Puno's KO on Yago

Another one that made me look twice was Karim Johnson knocking out Kilo ending his nearly year long streak of winning.

or De Geno knocking the cheese out of Sitsongrit

Haise Sasaki - From the clinch...Knees!!!

"Sasaki jerks Frewin's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Frewin drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! Sasaki goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from Sasaki because Frewin was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy."

Best KO description of the year for sure.

Best KO description of the year for sure.

Imma let you finish, but their first fight was better and a quicker finish ;)

I nominate De Geno vs Sitsongrit 1st fight. https://www.mmatycoon.com/fightcommentary.php?FTID=1100189

It represented a lot of things. 1st, it was an obvious changing of the guard moment. New blood (370k ID!) coming from OFK to straight up destroy a Syn Legend that until that point hadn't seemed to slow down too much. The guy was having custom fight kits commissioned for him because he was that legendary, and De Geno just came straight from OFK and KO'd him.

2nd, that Sitsongrit had only ever been KO'd once before ever. De Geno didn't even rock him first, just killed him with the final blow after coming back from being down on rounds. He'd repeat that performance in their second fight.

3rd, It's 135. De Geno's streak of KOs is ridiculous given that context and it's only recently stopped against arguably one of the best chins in the weightclass (but he still beat Valen Dreth). This KO to continue the streak at the time was pretty special.

EDIT: Oh ffs dino beat me to it nomming this one

It is nice to see someone appreciates other knock outs especially in divisions that people rarely go outside of the cheese. Alex kinda revolutionized a new method of just knocking the cheese outta people.

For sure. Frewin totally dominated that fight and had me questioning whether or not Sasaki still had it in him to make the comeback try he was on. It was a humiliating loss. Wasn't trying to put down your guy, my apologies if you took it that way.

My only point was the uniqueness of the KO...knees being pretty rare.  Most everything else we've seen a hundred times.  I got a big kick out of the description. The "brutality" line...hadn't ever seen that one before.

Hussein KO of Joosep. Reasons.

Joosep is known for having a granite chin against the best fighters at 205lbs.

This was a high profile win, Hussein was the underdog but he was #49 vs #9.

This win was a KO, not a TKO (unlike some of the nominations above).

It happened on the 4:59 mark of the 3rd round!!! Basically the fight was over and Joosep was about to get a typical decision win. Lost in the last second to a Head Kick KO!!!
