Rambo
Clarence Hoost (19-6-0) is the #6 ranked Heavyweight in the world, set to take on the #1 Heavyweight Kilo "Bloodbath" Maluga (53-12-0) for the illustrious SYN Heavyweight championship. Hoost's opponent Kilo is a fighter that needs no introduction. The first ever back-to-back Fighter of the Year, and a future first ballot Hall of Famer, the accolades and accomplishments that the product of Convicted Fight Club has achieved are miles longer than his upcoming adversary. Clarence Hoost origin story begins in Suriname. Suriname is a tiny but diverse country on the northern coast of South America, with a rich history and culture. It was colonized by the Dutch, who brought African slaves and later indentured workers from India, Indonesia, and China, creating a multilingual and multiethnic society. Suriname gained independence in 1975, but faced political turmoil, military coups, and a civil war that lasted until 1992, when democracy was restored. Suriname's economy relies on its natural resources, especially bauxite, gold, and oil, but also faces challenges such as deforestation, corruption, and poverty. Hoost refused to acknowledge the crime rate when pressed by the media, instead focusing on his hometown Brokopondo. "Brokopondo is a beautiful place." Hoost says. "But there is a lot of suffering. Growing up there, made me who I am today. My biggest fans are from the city of Brokopondo." Brokopondo is the capital town of the Brokopondo District, Suriname. It is located on the west shore of the Suriname river, just north of the Afobaka dam. Brokopondo can be reached via the Afobakaweg from Paranam to Afobaka. Nearby is a granite monument made by sculptor Jo Rens, displaying two men: one standing with a parrot and one sitting and writing. It is meant to symbolize the past and the future. A place that Hoost visits regularly when he's in his homeland. There is also a large beach next to the Suriname river near the city centre. A beach that Hoost used to run up and down every day in his youth. "I ran many miles next to the river. That is why my cardio is elite." He's not much of a talker, and he lets his fist do the talking for him. Clarence Hoost has somewhat quietly etched a name for himself as a heavy hitting knockout artist, having won all of his professional fights by way of knockout, 19 to be exact. He enters fights with a kill-or-be-killed mentality, and the only time he's seen the cards in his career have been during the first two test fights of his career, during 1 round hidden farming events by his manager Jack King, designed to weed out the meek and feint hearted from potential future champions. A common yet controversial practice amongst the world's most elite managers these days. Jack King credited the chin of Clarence Hoost as the prominent feature that stood out from his fighter during those two events, but little did he know that he had a future knockout artist in his gym at King's Cross MMA. It didn't take long for his coach to figure it out though, as Clarence Hoost tore through the competition on the local circuit, rallying off 9 straight knockout victories enroute to a title shot at the Blaze Brothers organization against Beau Abner, who was a 14-1 champion at the time of their bout. Although Hoost came up short in his first attempt at a championship, he showed a champion's mettle, getting knocked down and rocked early in the fight and beaten to a bloody pulp - he refused to go down - and the doctor had to step in to examine a nasty cut that resulted in a fight stoppage. It was the first legitimate loss in Clarence Hoost young career, but the 26-year-old responded with a big knockout over John Okafer which earned him another shot at the title, this time against Kjetil Olsen. The first round was dominated by Hoost, knocking Olsen down, but his 225 cm opponent managed to send Hoost to his corner a bloodied mess. That didn't deter Hoost from coming out in the 2nd round and landing a picture-perfect right hand that sent Olsen to the canvas, out cold and into free agency, officially crowning Clarence Hoost as the new Heavyweight champion of the Blaze Brothers Organization. Unsurprisingly, after going 12-2 and winning his last 11 fights by way of knockout, the big leagues came calling and Clarence Hoost signed to SYN. Unfortunately his jump into the big leagues didn't go his way, getting matched up with the far more experienced 23-6 Yago Steve, and the Brazilian beat the shit out of his fellow South American with a first round TKO. That loss, to this day, remains the only time Clarence Hoost has been finished by strikes. While Hoost officially has 5 losses on his resume by (T)KO, 4 of them were cut stoppages enforced by the cage side physician. During his time at SYN, Hoost has racked up a respectable 7-4 record, but has added some really big names to his hitlist: Conor the Barbarian, Beau Abner x2, Billy Bob Brown, and Aleksei Babinski, earning 2 knockout of the night awards in the process. After winning the trilogy by knocking out his rival Beau Abner and putting former Combate Heavyweight champ Billy Bob Brown away with strikes, Clarence Hoost now finds himself in the #1 contender position, booked against the current champion Kilo Maluga. Will he fare better than his fellow YABAI brethren? That remains to be seen, but one thing we can count on is a knockout finish between these two titans as they clash at SYN 962.

Rambo
KILO LIVID WITH 1ST ROUND STOPPAGE | UPSET WITH EVENT PROMOTION | OFFICIALLY FREE AGENT Kilo "Bloodbath" Maluga (54-12-0) successfully defended his title against the hard-hitting Surinamese contender Clarence Hoost (19-7-0) at SYN 962, winning the bout via 1st round stoppage, but not without some controversy. The two heavyweights opened up the first round with respect for each other, and the gameplans for both fighters were clear: Hoost wanted to chop away at Kilo's legs. Kilo wanted to get behind his jab, and get behind his jab he did. After Kilo checked a leg kick, he hit Hoost with a stiff jab that stopped him in his tracks, splitting his brow open with a nasty gash that was leaking blood into the contender's face. A pushkick to the midsection later and Hoost looked like he was already breathing heavily only a minute into the fight, but he responded with a glancing blow to the side of Kilo's head that opened up a cut on the champion, appeasing the Just Bleed gods demand for blood. Maluga reacted to the shot with a punch to the body and a counter right hand over the top that opened up Hoost's cut even more. Hoost's vision appeared compromised as the fight went on, and Kilo looked like he was waiting for the perfect opportunity to put him away... and he found it, by way of a big right hand that sent Hoost crashing to the floor, and blood splattering on the canvas and ring-side physicians... But then controversy struck. Kilo waved his opponent to his feet, the sportsman that he is, but before Hoost could get back up, the devious doctor called a stop to the fight, waving it off at 4:57 into round 1 after Hoost failed the vision test. "He (the doctor) robbed fans of beautiful violence." Kilo fumed into the mic post-fight. "This pig (expletive) had no business getting involved." When he was asked in a follow up about concern for Clarence Hoost health being a reason the cage-side physician waved off the bout, Kilo doubled down: "(Hoost) wasn't finished. I would have put him away eventually, but the doctor shouldn't get involved. Doc needs to have his eyes checked. License revoked. I will punt him into an early retirement, just like I did with Leif Leifsson, if he ever intervenes in any of my fights ever again." With that victory, it marks the 32nd Heavyweight title defense of Kilo's career. What's next for the Heavyweight GOAT? "I am not happy with the promotion of this event. The promotion was unsatisfactory at best. The way the card was organized, amateur hour. I am officially a free agent and will explore all my options." Despite airing out his complaints with SYN's promotion of the event, he left the door open to return: "Anything is possible. I am still the Heavyweight champion. I want to be paid what I'm worth. I want health insurance. Rematch clauses. I'll leave this up to Karter and management team. This type of decisions is what he gets 10% for."

Rambo
#1 P4P fighter Kilo Maluga (54-12-0) is still on top of the MMA world — but for how long? The heavyweight champion put on a vintage performance at SYN 962 and defended the SYN heavyweight title with a dominant stoppage victory over Clarence Hoost. Altogether, it was one of the finest performances of Maluga's decorated career, and at age 37, Maluga has plenty of time left to put together another lengthy title reign. But is Kilo interested in sticking around at his weight class for the long haul? His longtime manager Chris Karter appeared on The MMA Wire and hinted that MMA fans should probably enjoy the all-timer while they still can. “I don’t know, I’ll leave that up to Kilo,” Karter said when asked about Kilo's future. “I think physically and mentally he can go a long way. And we’ve seen so many great heavyweights have incredible performances throughout their career. But I think Kilo’s going to be one of those athletes that walks away early. He’s going to walk away early. Not as early as the Rinky Spider's and Leonardo Ferreira's of the world, but Kimbo Slice and Iain Tower were fighting well into their 40's. I don't think Kilo will. I think Kilo will ride off into the sunset, and us, as MMA fans, will still be clamoring for one more or talking about potential matchups. But I don’t think Kilo’s going to have too much more to prove.” Kilo is one of the longest tenured athletes currently in SYN. He made his promotional debut when he was 25 — the same year he ended Kimbo's reign and became #1 P4P for the first time — and he has competed 49 times in the octagon over his 12-year run without suffering a legitimate loss. Over that time, Maluga has beaten a slew of fighters from both the past and present generations, compiling an in-cage résumé that stands as of the greatest in the history of mixed martial arts, including an unbelievable 32-7 record in SYN title bouts, the most ever in promotional history. Yet somehow with his first round beatdown of Clarence Hoost, Maluga looked better than ever. “He’s still getting better, my friend,” Karter said. “Age is just a mindset. It’s just a mindset when it comes to Kilo Maluga. Maybe not the rest of us, but for Kilo, it is.” “He took out generations, right?” Karter later added. “He took out the prior generation of legends — the Kimbo's, the Towers', the Barbarians — and then he took out all of his peers, and he’s still here performing at the highest level. It blows my mind. I was actually walking out of the arena the other night and ran into [former opponents] Rick [Piano] and Jorge [Cruz Jr], and I’ve got a lot of love for Rick, it was good to see him, and he was just blown away. Like, ‘Dude, I can’t believe how good Kilo is. Still. Getting better.’” For now, though, Kilo Maluga is still in the swing of things. He's currently scheduled to fight Crusty Bigg at SYN 967. Karter said Convicted Fight Club and Team Kilo are “absolutely” ready to defend the championship. “I think that every fighter still has the utmost respect for Kilo. He’s a dangerous man,” Karter said. “He has amazing cardio for a heavyweight, he has power in both hands, he can eat a punch off his heels, he has great pressure fighting, great clinch control, great boxing, and the best muay thai in the Heavyweight division. This is a man that took down Kimbo Slice, Conor the Barbarian, Iain Tower, Karim Johnson, Leif Leifsson, the list goes on and on. Kilo's opponents gotta train for one of the greatest heavyweights of all-time, which brings a lot of unique challenges, and a lot of pressure. I don’t think there’s any clear path to victory [against Kilo] for Crusty Bigg and Bradley Burns. They're two chumps in a bucket. But we’re going to take this very seriously. I know that Kilo's going to be ultra-motivated. He thinks Biggs is a bum, and I think this is another stamp to solidify Kilo’s status as the GOAT.” If Kilo defeats Biggs, it will add one heck of a name to his résumé. Just another padded title defense in a lost list of accomplishments. But is there a chance Kilo decides to finally walk away from MMA for good afterward? “I don’t know. He has a lot of fire, I think he has a lot of motivation, and I’ll leave that up to Kilo,” Karter said. “He's juiced to the gills and could probably fight until he's 90, but I think we’ll take each one as its own camp and not look past it at all.” 2

Rambo
‘We Have The Same Drug Dealer’: Puno confirms Kilo takes PEDs Kilo Maluga (54-12-0, #1 P4P) has been accused of using performance enhancing drugs by former SYN title contender and self-confessed steroid user Adan Puno (13-3, #20 P4P), who claims he and Kilo even have the same “drug dealer”. “Other mma fighters and professional athletes will hear about what Kilo Maluga does and go, ‘That doesn’t matter.’ If you knew what these performance enhancers did, you’d know it does matter,” Puno said in a new episode of the Flagrant podcast. “We have the same drug dealer, I know exactly what he’s doing,” Puno claimed. “EPO [Erythropoietin] matters, it’s the reason Kilo takes it. It matters. EPO increases your red blood cells, which gives you the endurance to fight and (expletive) all night long… It’s the king of performance enhancers. EPO is king to everything. That’s why cyclists do it.” Puno’s comments appear at the 4 minute, 20 second mark of the show. Puno himself has admitted to using EPO and Human Growth Hormone in the past, so he knows a thing or two about performance enhancing drugs. SYN's athletic commission does conduct random blood tests to detect steroid use in its fighters. In their joint anti-drug program, SYN and USADA state that “the program subjects each fighter to no more than nine random, unannounced drug tests during each training camp and off-season — up to six urine tests and three blood tests.” Kilo's been an outspoken critic of the USADA program, and notoriously has ghosted them numerous times. 1
