The Island Season 2 - General Discussion

Recommended Posts

Thanks in large part to Bad Ideas, Inc. (Ryan Kempke, http://www.mmatycoon.com/managerprofilemanager.php?MgrID=92007), Atlantis can now put out the 155q Road to Recovery and start a big sale on 145q RtR.

The sale on 145q Road to Recovery products will start on Friday at... whenever I get up, which is probably around ten-noon Pacific time. They'll be on sale for $10 each. I'll then end the sale whenever I get back home Monday.

The 155q product will go on sale "3 days" from now, according to the game. It will sell for $125, or $100 if you have a sponsorship with Atlantis. I will give a 20% off sponsorship to anyone who asks for one; they are $1 for 122 days, but, again, discount. That's basically $100 in discounts. Not much, but it's better than nothing.

Big fight coming up for my guy The Can http://mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilemanager.php?FID=241587 currently number two in weightclass and a win against number 7 in weightclass Mercurius Faunus http://mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=240250 should be a ripping fight. They've previously met once before where Can pulled out a decision victory 2 rounds to one, handing Faunus his first and only loss of his career.

This time around it's a five round fight, winner becomes champion, Can possibly could take number one Light Heavyweight spot and break top ten for pound for pound. A loss for the Can could cause him to rethink his weight division as well as the purposed superfight for the 23rd.

Should be a great fight.

Can by TKO in round five.

Chocolate Al
6-2-0

The Iceman with a career resurgence. After dropping two in a row, one to Mercy Falls for the inaugural IFF LHW title, and then to Darby Gordon, Al took to the Quick Fighting Championships for two tune up fights. Following two quick KO victories, he was matched up with Tatu Kamia, a 6-0-0 highly ranked grappler. Al finished the fight with strikes at 28 seconds of the very first round. He has now moved on to #11 LHW on The Island and #66 p4p fighter on the Island. He has previously been ranked as high as #1 LHW and #9 p4p fighter on the Island.

He is looking for another fight before the Island tournament to solidify himself as the most heavy handed fighter on the Island.

Can (number 3 in weight division) against Faunus (number seven) is only 10 hours away, Faunus is only man to go distance with Can but that was in three round format where Can won two rounds to 1, this fight should be a good one.

Hopefully I can take the win and than purposed superfight against Antonio Silva on the 23rd of April, in the 145 division which could be number one of 145 division taking on number 1/2 of 155 division depending on result of my upcoming fight. Can fought four times in 145 division and dispatched of all his opponents in one round, in three fights in155 division he has taken at least three rounds for each of his opponents, so seemingly 145 suits him better.

How many more months until Island season 2 finishes and top ten fights begin? Is it possible to fight in both 145 and 155 (; and is it most recent division you fight in the division you'll be for that best ten fighters tournament?

Cheers

Brett

Number 1 145 fighter and number 1 155 fighter fought, and the Can won in one round, extending his record in 145 division at 5 knockouts within 3 minutes. And his record in 155 record being 4 wins (with two finishes). Despite clearly better at 145, Can returns to 155 division and AFL where he looks to defend his number one pound for pound ranking in the Island, number one in both 155/145 divisions. The Can is now 9-0 and clear number one, who's next?

Congrats on the 9-0 awesome achievement what division will you be entering the tourney in?

Thanks mate, not sure yet. Certainly looking better at 145 in terms of getting finishes, but fought a lot tougher opponents so far at 155 (exception of Silva, although he had only fought four fights to be fair). When does tournament start? I'll probably scout out competition in both divisions before making choice tbh.

The Can is easily one of the best fighters on The Island this season!

Thanks mate, he's certainly doing better than I thought he would when I first created him, first go on the Island and it's a lot of fun. Not much training time/improvement but enough to make it worth while, even fights left right and centre, and styles make the matchups and sliders are very important. IMO if more of the 'top' managers commited to it, than it'd be even better, but currently it's very enjoyable (probably recommend it to all new managers).

And looking at 155 guys that would give me most trouble: Bojan (wrestler, depends if he hits takedown before I hit him), Omeuro (only lost by sub and pretty complete standup game), Duncan Jon (same sprawl/build except better suited to 155 division)

145 guys: James Briggs(wrestler see Bojan), Alec McRaven (wrestler), Dr Dre(See other wrestlers)

Don't think Shaw would pose too much more of a threat than Silva did (than again a takedown and it's all over so who knows). Couple more big fights coming up soon for Can Hopefully. Best of luck to everyone else

Omeruo showed that he might have a weakness against submission specialists but I really think he was just unlucky in his fight against Billy Hill as he really should have TKO/KO'd him.

Looking forward to seeing Omeruo getting his title back. Charles Benedict (5-0) is going to be in for a long night if Omeruo gets a title shot after beating Boko Shambles (4-4).

Omeruo has got 3 fights left, so once he beats Boko, it'll be 2 fights left. Wouldn't surprise me if the org owner puts him against another grappler, Kenneth has faced 2 in a row and Boko will be the 3rd in a row. Wanting to see a war between Benedict and Omeruo.

Who do you guys think will be the winner of this season? The Can is one of the guys IMO.

In each weight division? Tough. I think Ruud Guilt will win in 135 division, he's beaten a large variety of fighters, overcome height disadvantages to extreme levels against standup guys, beaten wrestlers, ground guys, you name it. 6-0 all knockouts no fights going past two rounds doesn't lie.

145/155 both hard to say, I'd think Gesufale(nobody seems to deal with clinch at low levels) Lightweight and in featherweight a couple weeks ago it was definitely Patton now I'm leaning towards Berzins. Hard to predict because most the strikers lose to the high wrestlers (11 wrestling etc) and most the high wrestlers with purple belts/blue belts lose to the ground games with brown belts, and most the brown belts don't have the wrestling to beat the strikers. I think in both divisions it'll be luck of the draw with styles determining the winners in most the fights I think. Like to say the Can comes out on top wherever he competes but really depends who he faces.

Other weight divisions obviously I haven't followed to closely but I do keep an eye on Heavyweight where I think Eeazy Ee will beat Zongtang.

Should be a exciting conclusion,

I was finally mentioned, and as usual... in a negative light... not for the chicken either. Good luck to Eeazy E but the tournament will decide much for us. Stepan Razin should not be ignored,we only care about hype here but if Eeazy E is a world beater,we cannot overlook Willy Fistur

Shows how little I know, Jupiters Cock just went to number 1 pound for pound and beat Eeazy Ee.

Furthermore, huge fight coming up between Alex the Lion and Ruud Guilt number 1 and 2 in weight division and a good chance for either to saw to the top of the pound for pound rankings.
