When looking all these fighters its quite interesting how fighter quality is really random between teams.

Convicted: really good 135, good 185 and really bad 265. Finnfighters: 135 bad, 185 really good and 265 bad.                     FF 2-1 Convicted, even Convicted have overall better fighters.

OMWP: 135 really good, 185 decent and 265 decent. OMWP 2-1 FF

On paper final will be all about who wins that 135. HW will be OMWP and 185 should be Convicted.

In the end overall at this tournament it has been quite a lot about who faces who.

SEMI-FINAL

1M PRIZE PREDICTION COMPETITION

Congratulations to Scott Bandz, Billy Arseworth and Freako Wimp who jointly predicted the most amount of correct results.

Special thanks for Dakota Thibodeaux for spotting the potential error that would have resulted in Scott Bandz receiving the entire 1M prize. It's not often that SMESH Bros and honesty go together.

333k has been sent to all accounts.

Don't fool us, as I heard a consistent rumor that Charles has been working on his ground game lately.

Or maybe that was just him dryhumping his rottweiler, who knows.

This is starting to border on slander, the constant insinuations of foul play involved throughout the ranks of the Smesh alliance. We have been over this numerous times, no rules were broken other than the *Weightgate which has directly led to Convicted making the playoffs and going to the finals. If anyone should be concerned with dark dealings it should be the rest of us.

THE FINAL - PREVIEW

Despite the many issues that have cropped up along the way, the 2022 Alliance World Championships has successfully made it to the event final and what a shock final it is. One that I doubt many would have predicted at the start of the tournament.

We've had some bizarre league format that no one could make heads nor tails of, we've had conspiracies, collusion and shenanigans that have threatened to stop the event in its tracks. On top of that, more account nukes and AWOL managers than ever seen before and yet somehow we've managed to have a decent tournament.

Definitely some interesting and fun match ups with a good few surprise results and I think also some hot prospects for the future will emerge from this tournament and go on to big things.

With all that said, let's take a look at the final match up of the tournament.

Convicted Inc (5-3) vs. One Man Wolf Pack (6-1)

135lbs

Charles Eric Cheese (7-1) vs. Rudy Beckwith (7-0)

A lot of people are speculating that it is this fight that will decide the winner of the 2022 AWC and though I don't quite agree with that assessment myself, it is without a doubt the most competitive of the three fights and between two extremely high performing fighters.

Aside from one little minor blip on his record late in the qualifying phase, “The Midnight NAMBLA” Charles Eric Cheese has left a trail of traumatised young men in his wake and has usually managed to do so very quickly and in brutal fashion. A tournament record of 7-1, Cheese has often been the MVP of his team and it's fair to say, it's anchor too. Convicted Inc owe a lot to this creepy young man and they will no doubt be hoping for one last top tier performance from him.

He'll definitely have his work cut out for him though as he faces undefeated submission star Rudy Beckwith. Like Cheese, Beckwith has been the rock on which One Man Wolf Pack have built their championship run and will be needing one last bit of magic from him and his new management team. So far Beckwith has gotten to this point completely unscathed and with a perfect record of seven wins all by submission. The bouts have gotten tougher of late but he always seems to find a finish out of somewhere.

This really is as close to a grappler versus striker final as you can get. Both fighters have clearly been working on their weaknesses but there's no confusion here that Cheese is the knockout specialist and Beckwith is the submission whizz. Overall, Cheese is probably a little more well rounded than Beckwith but the big question is whether that will help him in the face of Beckwith's far superior grappling skills. Clearly very gifted on the mat, Beckwith has already received his black belt in BJJ and is said to have a wonderful wrestling game to back it up with. Cheese will likely want to finish this early on the feet as the longer the fight goes on, the more chance that Beckwith will find a way to a submission finish.

185lbs

Willie Diggs (5-2) vs. Jules Ann (4-3)

“Playoff” Willie Diggs has been activated. That was the warcry of his semi-autobotting manager Chris Karter as Convicted Inc secured their place in the final and to be fair, Diggs has definitely upped his performances in the knockout stages. Revenge for an earlier decision loss against highly touted Smash Adams in the quarter finals and another win over previous opponent Gord Ryan in even more spectacular fashion than before in the semi-final have more than made up for a lacklustre 3-2 run in the qualifying phase. Now Diggs will face an unfamiliar foe in the final.

One Man Wolf Pack's Jules An makes his way into the final with an overall 4-3 record. Easily his best performance in the so far was his KO victory over hot prospect Panagiotis Nikolau in round three of the qualifying phase but outside of that his record has been a little spotty. He has struggled against the higher tier fighters in his weight whilst absolutely crushing those deemed lower in the pecking order. Jules Ann now has an opportunity to put that all behind him really put an exclamation mark on his tournament campaign.

In terms of skills, there isn't a great deal between these two. Both are predominantly strikers and perhaps Diggs does have a very slight edge there but it isn't by a large margin. Ann looks to be a little further ahead on the ground but that is one area of the fight I think you can safely rule out. You have to dig a little deeper in their records to get a better picture of who is favoured in this fight and straight away it is immediately obvious that both fighters have some serious KO power. All of Ann's four victories have been by KO and so to has four of Diggs' five wins. The biggest reveal when looking at the stats however is that whilst Diggs has lost already in the tournament, he has yet to be finished. In contrast Ann has suffered a couple of brutal knockouts and whilst those have been against some of the better fighters in the tournament in Seppo Maki and Smash Adams, those same two were unable to do the same to Diggs. Previous results don't always equate well to future predictions but they are certainly something to weigh up when considering who has the better chance of victory. On this occasion, most would believe Diggs to be a fairly strong favourite in this one.

265lbs

Andre Salaam (1-7) vs. Orn Frosulfsson (4-3)

Out of all the fights in this AWC final this heavyweight showdown is perhaps the most lopsided of them all. On the flip side, it also the bout with the largest potential for an upset.

Andre Salaam comes into this final a broken and dribbling shell of a man. Some believe that he actually died early on in the tournament and that grand wizard Chris Karter and his Sami witch doctor friend Freako Wimp are able use some combination of Floridian voodoo and Scandinavian shamanism to revive him just briefly enough to shamble into the cage for a few seconds. Others believe that he is some kind of fetishist who enjoys the ritual humiliation and pain of being beaten unconscious in front of a small group of people. Whatever the reason this man has for getting into the cage you have to admire his managements dedication to the team as most would not have been able to resist the urge to rage sack after a terrible 1-7 record throughout the tournament. Seven first round KO losses against his name with only a single solitary victory to celebrate. This makes Salaam a very dangerous man indeed as he truly has absolutely nothing to lose and everything to gain in this championship final.

Opponent Orn Frostfulsson had a middling qualifying phase run going 2-3 before his previous manager found the wonders of Korean MMORPG's and decided his future lay in grinding for tier five gear for 20 hours a day in place of work or a social life and quit the world of MMATycoon. Frostulfsson was then picked up by a begrudging Alfredo Gonzalez who has somehow managed to navigate his new charge through two tough knockout stage bouts to help his team into the final. He comes into this fight with a winning record of 4-3 and clearly riding his luck to get to this point. The biggest worry now however is that his luck could end at the most vital of times; a bout in which he is the clear favourite against an opponent that most consider to have very little chance of victory.

Once again, very little difference in terms of skill in this one with Salaam looking every part Frostulfsson's equal in key areas. The biggest gulf between them is in terms of records and it is there where you would surmise that Salaam is on course for another hiding. The problem for Frostulfsson however is that he has been far from perfect himself during this tournament and has suffered at least a few brutal KO losses. This is heavyweight fighting and a punchers chance has even more bearing at this weight. One wrong move and we could be looking at an upset of gigantic proportions and with such a terrible run for Salaam so far, what a way to undo all of those poor performances and give back to his team when they will need it most.

So there you have it folks. Convicted Inc versus One Man Wolf Pack. Who do you have taking the third annual Alliance World Championships? Be sure to leave your predictions and weigh in with your thoughts. I'm sure everyone is just dying to hear them. 🙄

Jules Ann has little bit better change than i thought.

Both only lost to best clincher and best striker. So its kind of battle whos gonna be tournaments second best fighter at 185. Still i believe Diggs wins, because Ann performed so badly against my Maki. Maybe that was just bad fight?

You weren't wrong.

Cheese has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Beckwith to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Cheese is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Beckwith pulls down on the head and he's put Cheese to sleep! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Rudy Beckwith!
After the fight, Rudy Beckwith was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
