I'm sorry our new writer didn't come through with the write up as he promised.  Sonny and I will handle next weeks writing so we don't have to worry about another mishap.  If I don't hear back from him soon, we'll have to let him go and look elsewhere to fill the job for writer assistant.

I'm about to embark upon a huge undertaking for the org.  Not sure how long this will take, but I feel it's going to take a while.  I'll work on it a few hours tonight and off and on tomorrow since I'm off.  But, it could be done tomorrow, or next weekend, or in 2 weeks.. I just don't know.  But...

I am going to go down the roster and 1 by 1 add fighters to a spreadsheet.  I will keep track of every win, ko/tko, submission, title fight, title win, etc..  I will award 1 point for each category in a running tally.  So a title fight win will give a fighter a point for the win, a point for the title fight, and an extra point for winning a title fight.  If it's via KO, for example, an additional point.

The point system will give us a database that will help us determine eventual Hall of Fame fighters and yearly awards for fighter of the year.  The fighter with the most points at the end of each year will be awarded that honor.  I am considering it on a per weight class basis for yearly award due to the size of our active roster, but that is not set in stone yet.  Also, I am considering ways to make win streaks earn points too, maybe a point for every 5 consecutive wins or something.  Again, not set in stone.  For now, the basis is I will have categories I keep track of and each category will be worth 1 point.

Win

KO

TKO

Sub

Title Fight

Title Win

Award Won (Fotn/SotN/KotN)

These are the categories I'm going to start with.  This will also keep track of leaders in each category so we'll know who has the most KO's, or submissions.  I am going to separate KO and TKO in stat tracking as I may have a special award or bonus in the future for most KO's or Subs in a given year, and I'm not going to add TKO to that so that it's a tighter competition that awards the hard hitters.

With that being said, hope this goes well and is appreciated.  I'm going to jump into the action now.

I stayed up late and finished this project.  I have not added any 380k fighters to this list as none have fought in this org.  I will post this info tomorrow so everyone can see where their fighters stand in the point standing.  There's still plenty of time to make a push for this years awards as we're not even half way there.  But from now on, I have a record of who has the most of any stat and it's actually pretty damned awesome.

On that note, it's after 1am here.. good night!

Dakota Thibodeaux Jr.: “I swear it’s like I can see the future.. I told that boy Jake he can’t hang with my brother from ze island. Ole quiet, soft-spoken Duannis put em one to sleep today. I still wanna beat him myself though.. I still want him even though he was the resounding loser after that fight. Unless he’s gonna turn tail and run back to 185.”

Kai: Of course you want to fight journeyman like Snake Paul, but if you think that will earn you a shot you are mistaken. Stop avoiding the top competition and win a decent fight so I can smash your face when I win the title.9.jpg.3f1da4fc279ba35161fbe6c1c333fb17.jpg

Dakota Thibodeaux Jr.: “Lolwut? I’ve already beaten the best arguably in this division. You’ve won some back alley fights with bums. You suck bruv, plain and simple. Like you are literally worse than Jake, you’ve just been more favored than Jake. You’ve had a cupcake road to get here. Please stop talking to me like you’ve actually beat someone of merit. You don’t have a whiff of Jørgen Thrane’s talent. Just hold on til Daddy comes and gets you.”

Ron "Bellicose" Burgundy

BREAKING NEWS:

"This just in.  Bellicose fighters, managers, and fans.  I'm Ron Burgundy and I'm here to officially report that Bellicose has acquired Caged Dragons Fighting Championship (378k+).  Management is excited to bring in this new generation of talent as it will give more opportunities to those younger guys currently on our roster.  I have also been informed that Bellicose, starting in May, will be hosting a 3rd event per week known as "Bellicose - Prospects" that will be held every Thursday for the younger guys to shine as they work their way up to the big events.  Any current title holder at CDFC will be granted a title shot for a "unification bout" should they accept the challenge.  I can't wait to see what these guys bring to the table.  This is Ron Burgundy with a special news break, signing off.  Stay aggressive, Bellicose!"

Shane Victorino: It's the Flyin Hawaiian here with another podcast. I have James Howlett with me here today.

James Howlett: Hey Shane.

Shane Victorino: So you have a fight coming up against Razor Ramano is that correct?

James Howlett: Yes it is. I was hoping for a much quicker fight but was forced to have a long wait.

Shane Victorino: What do you think of your opponent and how do you think you stack up?

James Howlett: By all accounts from what I have watched and seen yes he is one of the most skilled individuals in the division and is the hardest hitter in the division he just doesn't have the best of chins. Which explains his record. Even though he has the technique he replies on his immense striking power and that gets him caught. He definitely has the power to knock me out just like in my fight against the champion. Unlike against the champion I won't have the wrestling advantage. But I can submit anyone any given night. So I will be looking to make him tap out and I definitely possess the skills to do just that.

Shane Victorino: What do you think Ramano's biggest weakness is?

James Howlett: Well if you are talking about skill it's where I shine and that is his ground game but if you are talking actual weakness I would say his confidence in his strength. He goes in wreckless loading up on shots and swinging wildly while he has a weak chin and being a striker I would say that is a huge weakness and is why he is 6-4 with 3 losses by KO. If he would slow down, take some off his shots, and not just rush in I think he could have made a much bigger run by now.

Shane Victorino: Who wins?

James Howlett: I do. The person doesn't matter I submit everyone. I'm that good.

Shane Victorino: That's the James Howlett we know right there. So what's next?

James Howlett: While Razor is very underrated a win against him isn't going to do anything for my career. He is leaps and bounds way more skilled than me and pretty much everyone in the division but I'm so far out in front of being the favorite still in this fight that Vegas pretty much already has me written to be winner. So winning isn't going to move up. So I say another fight and then I should be ready for another shot.

Shane Victorino: Why did you accept a fight if it's a pretty bad match up?

James Howlett: It's like this I'm not just talk. I say I can submit anyone any given night and I don't care what weight class I'll make you tap. Because my bjj really is that good. I have complete faith in it. So while it's a fight that there is zero upside for me in how could I turn it down? To do so wouldn't be sincere in my faith in my bjj. I have to believe I can submit anyone or there is no reason for me to do what it is I do.

Shane Victorino: Sounds like a man that will be getting a submission. Congrats and good luck. All we have time for in today's show.

From the office of Sonny Muchacho:

“Thanks for the zoom meeting James. First, I want to wish you luck on your upcoming fight versus Razor. You know I’m a fan of the jits.

Next, although it took some sensitive ears to interpret, I do believe I hear a couple concerns and want to let you know where we’re coming from. One, the extra week between fights and two, why this specific opponent.

For the former - as you have seen Bellicose had been undergoing a fairly large influx in roster size over the last couple weeks. We assure you the 5 week turnover between fights will not be a regular occurrence if you prefer the 4 week method. We have made extremely quick adaptations to event structures and schedules to most smoothly accommodate our new fighters while maintaining the extremely high attention to quality the base roster deserves. We got your back with the future in mind.

As far as your opponent’s skill superiority on the feet and your advantage in rank I want to say this: This is a great matchup for your title rebound, and honestly not a major mismatch in rank in my humble opinion. You fell short to the champ on the feet so you should love the opportunity to beat this standup artist to prove that loss was a random blip on the radar. Prove that you can handle KO power.

You are a warrior and I know this from the way you fight, the way you talk, and the way you carry yourself in the day to day. I’d like to think, no, I know that you are the kind of man that would not hide behind a small rank different and can see a great battle for what it is. And for what it’s worth, the hindrance of an extra week of training could be seen as a tool instead. You know you have this win if the fight goes to the ground. Work on getting it there and look to get back on the path to title contention.

Good luck!”

Just for a little fun and bragging rights..  There are several ties for 2nd and 3rd place so I only added the leaders and those close.  If you see a single fighter in a category, that means he's at least 2 ahead of the next fighter or there are more than 4 people tied for 2nd place.
