bazzypants
Alrighty, not the best start for my Uzbek lad. I think we can all agree people who win by submission aren't real winners. They're basically cowardly cheats. Not that I'm bitter. I am a little bitter. And twisted. Here's hoping for more success in The Less Fortunate round.

Flipper
Winter Warfare Round 5 The remaining rounds of the Winter Warfare tournament will be both previewed and reviewed by yours truly, Rush Grayson! I have been granted the special privilege of dissecting the remaining fighters and matchups to really put emphasis on this expansive and prestigious 390k creation tournament! What started as a field of 34 now only contains 12 of the fiercest creations in the entire ID range and possibly out of any currently running creation tournament! Now without further ado, we’ll preview the fights of round 5 of this double elimination tournament. Starting with the Winner’s Bracket! Winner’s Semifinals Randy No Neck vs. Caius Marius Winter Warfare Lineal Championship While not the first match on the card this one is one of the most intriguing. Master Tessin, piloting the latest in his army of Randy themed creations, has put on an impressive showing in tournament play as of late. Having overtaken one half of the Billy-Waddy Stepdad Connection already, and having multiple paths to victory, it wouldn’t be unrealistic if the Tess Express just rolled on through Stepdad Station en route to the next round. The other half of this fight is Caius Marius, a GWad creation of Roman styling. Caius has had some extremely impressive development during this tournament and looks to out-primary the rest of the field by a wide margin. The results speak for themselves and say that Caius is a definite threat to take the whole tournament. Ruslan Beznisko vs. Percival Nerdspoof The 3rd The other Winner’s Bracket fight is between two submission monsters with very little in the way of striking. On paper these two are both very distinguished and evenly matched on the ground, and you could probably bet the house that they get the fight there as quickly as possible. One interesting thing to note is that while both men have shown pedigree in the ground game, Percy Nerdspoof has only faced other grapplers since the word go and not only has he finished them all, he managed in less than 2 rounds. Ruslan will definitely be his toughest test on that front, and is a definite threat to “The Keyboard Warrior” in his mat-based neighborhood. Loser’s Quarterfinals Fun Fact: All but one of the fighters in the lower bracket took their L from one of the 4 remaining fighters in the upper bracket. From here on out there’s high potential for rematches and VENGEANCE. Nagatsuki Hideki vs. Choke Gracie A classic striker vs grappler matchup, this fight is unique in that it features one of the most dangerous entrants in the tournament vs one of the most resilient. Hideki makes no bones about it, he’s here to take your head off as quickly and as violently as possible. Boasting 3 KO victories of his 4 wins, look for Hideki to shove his fist down Gracie’s throat early and often. Gracie, on the other hand, will look to take the best of Hideki and keep on coming while trying to drag him to the mat and drown him in GNP and submission attempts. It’s to be noted that Gracie was not tested prior to this tournament and boasts the legendary “Good in Bed” TotT. Be ready for absolutely anything in this fight because there’s no telling what could happen! Keith Chegwin vs. Rashaun Kinkead Another dangerous striker vs another submission specialist. You would think the organizer of the tournament was doing this on purpose! Monkey, the Winter Warlord himself, is featured in this next match with dangerous striker Keith Chegwin facing off against Rashaun Kinkead with Squirrely “I only fight my alliance mates” Dan at the helm. Much like the previously mentioned matchup, look for flying fists and someone to go skittering across the mat either from a hellacious blow to the head or slick and slippery grappling. Also like the previous matchup, this one is wide open and absolutely anything can happen. You don’t get this far in a big tournament by being a bum. Azad Bekzod vs. Leonard Foster Certainly my pick for the best nickname of the tournament, Azad “Uzbek Gut Check” Bekzod squares off with Leonard Foster in yet another freaking striker-grappler matchup. This one is at least different in that Azad operates mainly out of the clinch. Bekzod seems to have found a home on the famine side of the board as opposed to the feast side, notching a pair of TKO victories since meeting Randy No Neck in the first round. No doubt he’s seeing red at the idea of possibly getting grappled to death again and this matchup is going to be key to his future success with the vast majority of remaining entrants having some kind of grappling chops. While being a grappler comes with a certain stigma, Leonard Foster prefers to beat his victims to a pulp rather than choke them out and that might be what separates him from the rest of the field. Having unfortunately been on the receiving end of a Ruslan Beznisko armbar, Foster looks to return to his winning ways and beat Bekzod unconscious. Domino Hurley vs. Jalo Ilmarinen I’m running out of ways to describe this particular kind of matchup so I’m not even going to bother. Instead, I will focus on what is different and exciting because there’s nothing worse than saying and reading the same thing over and over again. Both of these fighters are well rounded, but in different ways and have excelled against different types of opponents. Domino Hurley has faced a pure grappler, a pure kicker who didn’t throw a single punch, and a pure boxer, and was successful in 2 out of 3 matchups. Domino uses a combination of clinch dominance and volume striking, either looking to keep his opponent underwater or challenging them to a firefight. The only time his “punches in bunches” strategy didn’t work was against an actual boxer. Unfortunately for him, Jalo Ilmarinen boasts some pretty decent boxing of his own, having scored KO’s both on the ground and on the feet. So far Domino has gotten by bringing the heat, but for his sake let’s hope Jalo isn’t too hot to handle. The winners of the first two matches I listed will go on to compete in the Winner’s Final, for the coveted chance to compete in the grand final against whomever should claw their way out of the deep end in the Loser’s Final. The winners of all the Loser’s Bracket fights will fight directly after this round, with the losers from the Winner’s Semifinals meeting them to see who will compete in the Loser’s Final. Eventually, the winners of both brackets will meet in the Grand Final for the crown of Winter Warfare Champion. If all of that sounds confusing, blame Monkey. Just kidding, if it’s hard to follow be sure to catch all the remaining previews and reviews that will be written by yours truly! 2
