Dragon Reborn
eh.. I'm sure it was a simple mistake. The fault is mine because I didn't catch it in time. That's why I'm asking you guys if you have a preference in hopes to find an idea to salvage this w/o offending or pissing anyone off. This show will go on, need to find the path of least resistance. Dragon Reborn
One of two. The other dropped from the tournament for his mistake instead of cutting 5lbs weight. Alfred took the smart road and got Mike to fix it. I'm just glad this thing is sorted and we can focus on the tourney.
Dragon Reborn
Knockout! Season 1 Round 1 A new day, a new horizon, and a new way to beat the bloody piss out of each other. Rather it be a cage, a ring, or the streets, human nature has always had an infinity for blood, violence, and war. Well, we will be bringing all of these things and much more to you by way of a new type of tournament. This will be a place where fighters can come in with only one though in mind. Kill, or be killed. Winning is nice, losing sucks. But getting knocked the fuck out is on another level, and when you’re the fighter standing over a limp body of the man you lay there bleeding, there’s a since of satisfaction as your inner predator proudly stares at it’s work. At All or Nothing KT, that’s exactly what is sought after in every fight. Pure untapped rage and brutality. What makes this tournament unique is that the wins and losses don’t matter as much as how you perform in the ring. Winning is huge, but you will score more points by getting a KO finish. Whatever you do, don’t leave the fight in the hands of the judges or each fighter will lose a point. With the winner getting 2 points, it means only 1 point for the winner and -1 points for the loser. If a KO finish happens, that’ll add an additional 5 points to the winner. If a cut is inflicted in the fight (points only once per fight for cut) then the fighter inflicting the cut will get an extra 2 points on their score. In all, a perfect fight would be a KO finish while inflicting a cut. This will net that maximum of 8 points to the winner. The loser will neither gain or lose points. This tournament is as much about the fighters as the managers. Yes, having a good fighter is the best you can hope for, but even mid-tier fighters can Knock guys out if they have a manager who knows who to install a good gameplan. And a great fighter with average manager can do the same. But what happens when you combine a great fighter with a great manager? Those are the guys that invent new ways to knock an opponent out. And we look to have a few of those potential killers in this season’s Knockout! All of these fighters participating in this event have no fight history outside of sparring sessions to test their skills and prepare for this tournament. Each of these guys come in hungry for action with a thirst for blood and won’t be satisfied until they capture that desert that is the prize money. For the first round, there won’t be much knowledge on these fighters other than listed skills and physicals so not much info to give on a background, so my writing here won’t be that entertaining. I’ll leave that to the fighters to do the entertaining in the ring. Tau Moti vs Maximus Bane Tau Moti is from New Zealand, but is training and fighting out of Montreal, Canada. The man has a granite chin and in his last sparring session he KO’d his opponent in 10 seconds. So the guy looks to have some power as well. Hard to knock out and capable of knocking an opponent out is exactly the tool set in which you will need to do well in this tournament. Already one of the early favorites to win the whole thing, Moti will have to tune out the distractions and focus on his opponent Bane, who also appears to be a front runner to be at the top in the end. Bane has flashed KO power above all else in his testing and sparring sessions and he’ll take it. He may not have the chin that Moti does, which will definitely put his KO power to the test while Moti has to be licking his chops. The first guy to land a huge strike will likely win this fight. Advantage goes to Moti for having the better chin and better chance of holding up against the power of Bane. With that said, in the SHW division, everyone will have KO power and a guy with more KO power than any other ability still likes his chances at cracking that granite chin. Kofi Akakpo vs Iggy Pop Kofi is out for blood, just ask his manager. Kofi has the KO power, for sure. His chin hasn’t yet been tested, but rest assured, it will be tested every fight in this tournament. Kofi has the right mentality. He was the first to sign up, the most excited to have a shot at knocking out opponents, and for him, the money is an afterthought. I had a chance to catch Kofi the other day and asked him what he would do with the prize money if he wins the tournament. His answer was simple, honest, and rather humorous. “There’s prize money? I just want to kill brain cells!” – Kofi Akakpo But where there’s one, there’s many. And Iggy pop is not to be left out. He hasn’t flashed the KO power that Kofi has, but he’s shown he has a solid chin and despite the lack of KO power in his fists, he’s got some dangerous knees that will finish a fighter off every bit as quickly as a fist. No doubt this fight will end up in the clinch at one point or another, and that’s where Pop hopes to shine. If this fight stays at range, Kofi will have a solid advantage. But once they clinch up, the tables turn. This will be a very exciting fight to watch. Simba Osei vs Peter Dekkers Simba Osei hails from Morocco but fights out of Sydney with his bff Kofi Akakpo. Osei appears to be a clinch fighter, but his lack of wrestling may play a factor in controlling the fight from the clinch. A granite chin will certainly help and his aggressive fighting style should do him very well. But that chin is going to be tested, and tested often. We will have to see if it holds up from the power this division has to offer. Osei has shown to have a little power himself, but how much of that is due to size vs skill is unknown. Osei will be a tough opponent and will be curious to watch his development thought this tournament. His opponent, Peter, has a big right hand and will be looking to use it to test Osei’s chin. In most cases, I would give the advantage to the chin over the KO power assuming the gameplan was wall put together, but when it’s the big boys going at it, even the best chin will crack from time to time. And having the power to crack it is exactly what Dekkers has. So, who will get to who first? Will the chin hold up? Will the nutcracker break the granite nut? Tune in to find out! Erland Van Grossberger vs Erron Black Grossberger looks every bit the part of a super heavyweight, but he underwent a weight reduction procedure to be able to qualify for this fight. That tells me one thing, if nothing else. He wants to compete, and he wants to rip someone’s head off. While built more like a wrestler, his Muay Thai in conjunction with that wrestling should make him a formidable opponent in the clinch. He should be able to control the pace of the fight and dictate the action if his skills line up for clinchwork. If he’s just a striker, then he may be a little behind the ball in his training and will be looking for a strikers shot to end the night. Which, might I add, should be the singular focus of every fighter on this card! Wins are nice, but Knockouts are what will get you paid! (And possibly laid, even if you’re a chubby fuck like Grossberger). Across the way he’ll be staring down Erron Black who appears to be more of a ranged striker. He’s a very intelligent fighter which may help him keep the fight where he wants it and make better decisions with his strikes, so maybe he’ll have the physical ability to go along with that intelligence to keep him out of the clinch. If so, he looks to have the upper hand. But if this fight gets clinched up, I’m not sure he’s going to be able to do much against Erland. Should be an interesting match up with a conflict of styles. Ovine Thibodeaux vs Murphy Law Ovine Thibodeaux is fighting out of the Thibodeaux camp and if he’s taking his lessons from his teammates then no doubt Ovine will be in the mix at the end. He’s more balanced out than most of the fighters in this tournament, not excelling at any one area, but instead a well blended Muay Thai fighter with equal specialization in wrestling. Undoubtedly he’s got the skillset to be a dominate force in the clinch, so look for him to clinch up early and often and work over Law from up close. Law is an interesting prospect in this tournament also. He’s a Muay Thai practitioner and pretty solid at it, but has started to dabble in Boxing and Wrestling. Not sure what approach he’ll take in this one, but if he’s smart he’ll avoid the clinch and try to capitalize on massive reach advantage. If he can stay on the outside, he will at least give himself a chance in this one, but his Muay Thai skill isn’t that much of an advantage and likely won’t be able to compensate for his lack of wrestling if things clinch up. All in all, this should be an exciting first round. The goal is to have all 5 fights result in a Knockout. Some of these guys may not be willing to go down so easily so we may see a decision, but no doubt the fans are going to be on their feet the whole night as every fight will have guys looking for the kill without mercy, without remorse, and with only one thing on their mind. Knocking out their opponent and taking one step closer to that cash prize, and a shot at becoming the first ever All or Nothing Knockout King!

Dragon Reborn
Round 1 is officially over. We did have fighters with max cuts which as much as it makes my jump for joy of the bloody mess that was left in the ring, it also will push back the next fight an extra 2 days. Maybe in another season we will consider an ironman sort of thing where injuries dont matter but we didnt do that here so to keep it fair we will just follow the current setup. Maximus Bane – 8 Iggy Pop – 8 Simba Osei – 8 Murphy Law – 8 Erland Van Grossberger – 7 Peter Dekkers – 1 Tau Moti – 0 Kofi Akakpo – 0 Erron Black – 0 Ovine Thibodeaux – 0 Win: 2 points TKO/KO: 5 points Inflict Cut: 1 point Decision: -1 point

Dragon Reborn
The max points you can earn per round is 8. So would it be fair to reward 1/2 of that (4 points) to a fighter if his opponent goes inactive and doesn't accept the fight, leaving him with no opponent or chance to earn points? Any person have an idea for this in fairness? Or should it just be a shit happens kind of thing?

With a minimum score of, say, +3 if his average is lower than that (so even a fighter that has lost every round gets +3 for showing up at least). With a maximum score of +6 if his average is higher than that (seems unfair to give someone a full +8 for a fight that never happened). In other words, average the fighter's score so far and award the closest whole number within the +3 to +6 range (rounded up).
