INY 54 Wauler vs Van Kirkland II

JAN 18, 2013

155lb World Title Fight

Wauler vs Van Kirkland

Since dropping down from 170lbs just over a year ago Wauler has beaten McGuire, Van Kirkland, and ended the reign of terror Huxley had brought to the division.

Let’s get one thing straight Huxley hit Wauler – a lot, and unlike other fighters to have faced Huxley, Wauler walked right through him.

Now it’s time to silence the critics who felt Van Kirkland was robbed of HIS title when Wauler was on the right end of a majority decision. That night he landed the harder shots which must have swayed the judges because Van Kirkland landed a lot more strikes.

Do we expect anything different this time from the champ? Probably not, finding the accuracy to score and landing with enough power will be crucial once again, so it’s up to Van Kirkland to impress the judges.

Van Kirkland is arguably the greatest Immortals fighter of all time, and a recent inductee into the Hall of Fame. He has a fabulous kicking game and can fight in the clinch to great effect also. What he lacks though is KO power, and his camp will have to decide here is whether Van Kirkland will have to sacrifice some accuracy in order to impress the judges. Wauler is top drawer, his camp are top class, and Team Melton know this.

It will be intriguing to see if they view the last fight as a fluke or Van Kirkland throws with more power.

The casino can’t decide.

170lb Division

Davies vs Taylor

A firecracker of a fight here with two world class strikers going head to head. Davies 6-2 has awesome Muay Thai, great punches, a devastating clinch and great elbows. He also finishes fights having stopped 5 opponents, thanks to his heavy hands, and knows impressively taking care of business this weekend will solidify his position among the divisions elite.

Not that it is going to the easy as Taylor 8-1 (7 Kos) has his own agenda, and is returning to the cage after nearly a year away from the sport, following his loss the Bowman Rook, and with it his aura of invincibility. Both Rook and Davies are a step up in class for Taylor, and he must know a big win against a genuine contender is required to silence his critics. He has power, but does he truly carry the arsenal to mix it with Davies? Rook dominated Taylor in the clinch when they fought and Davies is likely to follow suit and open Taylor up with those deadly elbows.

Has Taylor learnt from the Rook fight? Can he hurt a top 170lb fighter?

Davies has mixed with the likes of Monroe, Stewart, and Whentworth, so the casino has him a slight favorite.

170lb Division

Kharmalov vs Monroe

Two of the best 170lb fighters on the planet go at it for a second time after their first fight was a draw. Monroe went on to drop a decision for the title to then champ Erik Bennett, and Kharmalov re-matched new champ Don Stewart and dropped a decision.

Kharmalov is the complete fighter, but if anything he favors takedowns and ground and pound as he demonstrated in his finest performance in his INY career, a 2nd round stoppage of Don Stewart. He has capable stand up, but so does Monroe, therefore getting the takedowns and imposing his will on Monroe will be critical.

Former champ Monroe has been in with the best, he is 8-2-1 with the 2 losses by decision and those losses were in title fights against Bennett and Cunha. I don’t expect Monroe to change his tactics for Kharmalov, he will box at range, stuff takedowns, break clinch attempts and make this generally a messy fight. It might not be pretty but the winner will be well placed for a crack a Don Stewart’s World Welterweight Title.

The Casino can’t split these two.

155lb Division

Butcher vs Saunders

Since a huge KO win over Shane Wellman Jnr 18 months ago, Butcher has struggled to cope with contender status and has been stopped in his last 4 fights, albeit against the likes of Sandoval, Smith, Pintor and Washington. Butcher has KO power and great kicks, and loves a tear up, so who better to face him than a true Immortals warrior, Joe Saunders.

Saunders 9-5 8KOs is coming off a great 2nd round KO win over Amir Khan, and will see Butcher as a great opportunity to propel himself back to serious contender status. Saunders loves to stand a let his hands go, and I suspect the experienced Davey Jones camp will want Saunders to test Butcher’s chin early and make this an early night. One thing is for sure, this will not go to the judges.

Saunders starts the favorite, he is tough, only Huxley has stopped him, but who hasn’t Huxley stopped outside of Wauler?

170lb Division

Funk vs Sakamaka

Clash of Alliance Managers in Nutsack and Da Jet here, and BJJ Brown belt Funk 3-4 (3 subs) versus the experienced Sakamaka who prefers to keep it standing. Funk has lost his last two, so he needs to get Sakamaka to the ground and work those submissions. Sakamaka is a decent boxer who likes the ground game, but at 5-6 he now needs to decide what he wants to excel at. This one is hard to read, but I think Sakamaka might take it by decision.

However, it will be my round at the bar when these boys go at it!

205lb Division

Walker vs Martin

Walker 1-0 made his long awaited professional debut on Boxing Day and showed a good clinch game, and useful takedown defense in stopping Joaquin Logan. That night his knees in the clinch broke Logan down on route to a 3rd round win.

Martin 5-6 is another Da Jet fighter that is a fair boxer and likes to shoot for takedowns. However he has been finished by both submission and strikes, so based upon Walker’s debut, he needs to get this to the ground.

Walker is still an unknown quantity but I’m backing him to stop Martin shortly after he imposes that brutal clinch attack.

170lb Division

Williams vs Von Hammer

This one should be fun as Williams 3-3 is rarely in a dull fight and Von Hammer 3-5 has 3 wins by KO.

Williams can box, but he will look to take Von Hammer down where he has far better wrestling and should be able to pound Hammer out. Von Hammer has only beaten 2 opponents having pounded the Mexican road sweeper Barera on two occasions, in event openers.

Williams starts the favorite but it could be a roller coaster of a fight, and if Von Hammer scores the KO then I would not be that surprised.

205lb Division

Kilgore vs Nowicki

Kilgore 3-6 has won 2 of his last 3, and is a good boxer and carries some seriously heavy hands. A fight against Nowicki is a perfect match up for both these guys as neither has to be concerned about takedowns. Nowicki 2-2 has great Muay Thai, and as long as he throws less combinations and focuses more on his accuracy he can be competitive in this fight.

It comes down to game plan, if Nowicki throws wild combinations, Kilgore will knock him cold. If Nowicki is patient, this fight could go either way. Kilgore starts the favorite.

145lb Division

Dubois vs Urskilz

Dubois 2-2 is a stereotypical Don King Jnr camp fighter, in that he has dangerous BJJ, which you ignore at your peril. He poses very little threat in striking as his boxing isn’t great and he throws wild combinations. Urskilz is 0-3 looks a skilled fighter but he surely needs a win here. He lost by submission last time out so he must counter Dubois with accurate shots, and potentially KO his foe on the way in. Underestimate Dubois’ BJJ and Urkilz will go to 0-4.

I think Urskilz can get the job done, but he is 0-3 for a reason, so he isn’t a huge favorite.

135lb Division

Brunson vs Jordan

BJJ Brown Belt Brunson is making his professional debut at the age of 25 and unless he gets some rest before the fight, he will not make it out of the 1st round. Jordan 0-1 is coming off a submission loss in his debut, and needs to careful again here. The Canuck Camp will be keeping a close eye on Brunson’s training in the lead up to this fight. Jordan has the better boxing, so counter punching with sharp accurate shots, and looking to shut down Brunson’s ground game if taken down, would be the best policy. At this rate Brunson will gas very quickly, so Jordan needs to be tactically sound.

Enjoy the fights, and stay tuned to the forum for more from Wellman in the coming days and a rankings review from Pat Miletich.

Shivakamini: What a better way to enter the 265+ than to face the Immovable Zayed Abdullah. All he whined about was, "I don't want to face Shiva next. I want to face more Hoptops." I'M NOT A HOPTOP ZAYED. I WILL PUNISH YOU. I WILL KILL YOU! You don't believe me? Look at what the internets has changed my nickname to: http://mmatycoon.com/fighterprofilepublic.php?FID=180566.

I despise your home country. I DESPISE ABU DHABI. I had to go into a cricket stadium for there to be collectively a full set of teeth! Before the end of this fight, I will keep up that tradition, and knock out yours.

Immortals Division Rankings 1/15/2013

Bantamweight (135)

1. Franky Young (8-1-0) It is tough to justify putting Franky at number one when he has yet to take a fight here at INY. Although he has had a very impressive run in the SPFT org and clearly by the numbers has much more cage experience then anyone else at 135. Young will face Dre Johnson on Feb. 1rst with a impressive win i would think he may be in the title picture next.

2. Pablo Escobar (3-1-0) After starting his pro career with a loss he has racked up 3 straight Submission wins here at Immortals. Pablo will battle Colt McLauren on 1/26 in the Inaugural Bantamweight Title fight.

3. Colt McLauren (3-1-0) Colt has also won 3 straight after dropping his debut fight. He will get the oppurtunity to avenge his lone loss as he faces Pablo Escobar in the Bantamweight title fight. This fight will not only be for the title but i believe the TUF 2 crown is also on the line here, i cold be wrong though don't hold me on that.

4. Marku Parasca (3-1-0) Marku tasted defeat for the first time as he was taped out by Pablo Escobar at the "Eve of Darkness" card. His next bout will be with Dusan Kikovic which will go down this Saturday night. With a big win here look out for this guy.

5. Dontae Sheldon (2-2-0)/Tommy Arashikage (2-3-0) rounding out things here im gonna make it a tie between this two guys. They will face off on Jan. 23rd winner will no doubt hold down the 5th spot at bantamweight.

Honorable Mentions : Dre Johnson(2-0-0), Dusan Kikovic(2-0-1), Lee Sin(4-0-0), Clydell Dexler(2-3-0), Rakeem Rodman(1-0-1)

Featherweight (145)

1. Mac Jackson (9-3-0) Mac has a 4 fight win streak going since signning with Immortals. He captured the Title on 12/19 from Samuel Washington in a 5 rounder. In his last bout he went the distance with a very game Frank Gallagher. His next challenger is not set yet but former champ Nick Sheilds seems to be the clear choice.

2. Nick Shields (8-0-0) Due to a Managment fiasco Nick has been out of action for a bit which has caused him to be stripped of his belt. All things considered though this guy has not been beaten and will no doubt be making a huge impact in this division in the near future.

3. Skull Crash (6-2-0) What a turn around for this cat he starts out 0-2 and looks to be on his way to a new career of Bagging Grocerys at his local piggly wiggly's. Since then he has went on a tear winning 6 straight, including a awesome win over Aadilou Ankutse last Friday. His next challenge is not booked as of yet but the Future looks bright for Mr. Crash.

4. Samuel Washington (8-2-0) Samuel had his 8 fight win streak snapped in his last bout when he challenged Mac Jackson for the title. Next up for Sam is Mookie Magaba set for 2/2.

5. Humberto Manuel Arboleda (6-2-0) Humberto is 4-1 in the Immortals cage and is well known for his hairy ass face. Arboledo will be welcoming newcomer Santiago Calirante in his next bout on 1/26.

Honorable Mentions: Jackson Jones(7-4-0), Aadilou Ankutse(7-5-0), Mookie Magaba(6-3-0), Frank Gallagher(6-5-0), Kevin Hawkins(5-3-1).

Lightweight (155)

1. Glenn Wauler (9-2-0) Wauler has won "Fight of the Night" in his last 3 fights with the last one ending with a 3rd round TKO victory over Aldous Huxley. Next up is a rematch with the former lightweight champ Vladimir Van Kirkland as he won the last one in a 5 rounder by Majority Decision.

2. Vladimir Van Kirkland (13-3-0) Vladdy has made quite a name for himself here at Immortals and is heading towards the Hall of Fame for sure if he keeps it up. The 2 time champ will have a chance to not only recapture his belt but also avenge a previous loss to the champ Glen Wauler.

3. Aldous Huxley (10-2-0) Aldous is a KO machine with belts in both Puzzles and Bowser's Castle. He was outgunned in his last bout with the current INY 155 pound champ Glen Wauler at INY 47. Next in line for Huxley will be Felix Sandoval at INY 57.

4. Corey Smith (10-5-0) Corey has fought some top guys here at Immortals and always comes to throwdown. He proved he still is a top 5 guy in his last performance with his record breaking fastest KO of up and comer Knowshon Zavier at INY 52. He takes on Shane Wellman Jr. in a rematch at INY 56 "Legends Return".

5. Lupe Pintor (8-4-0) Pintor is on a 3 fight win streak which does not seem like much , but in this very tough division its pretty damn impressive if you ask me. he won a hard fought decsion over INY newcomer Swag Fo Days at INY 51. Pintor is currently waiting for his next fight another big win could put him one step closer to the Belt.

Honorable Mentions : Erkki Vieri(10-1-0), Joe Saunders(9-5-0), Jimmy Young(13-2-0), Shane Wellman Jr.(10-9-0), Swag Fo Days(10-7-0), Felix Sandoval(5-1-0), Knowshon Zavier(5-1-0), Brock Landers(8-4-0).

Welterweight (170)

1. Donald Stewart (11-5-0) Stewart is on a 4 fight win streak and has recently put his name at the top of the division when he shocked the world by Knocking out then champ Erik Bennett after dropping the first three rounds. The champ is now taking some time to rest while he waits to see who his next challenge will be.

2. Erik Bennett (12-4-0) Bennett fought his ass off in his last fight but looked like he faded just a bit as he was TKO'd with just 19 seconds to go. The fight with Stewart was one for the ages , and i am sure i am not alone when i say Mr. Steel let's see this one again.

3. Jon Monroe (8-2-1) Monroe is a one time champ at 170 and had a chance to get the belt back but came up short against Erik Bennett back at INY 47. He will look to get back on track when he faces the Russian Maxim Kharmalov this Friday night at INY 54.

4. Bernhard Taylor (8-1-0) Taylor has looked very Dominant at INY winning his first 8 fights here. He was set back for the first time in his last bout against Bowman Rook though. He will face John Davies this Friday at INY 54 as well , and like Jon Monroe he will be looking to get back in the winning circle.

5. Maxim Kharmalov (4-2-1) Maxim only has 3 fights here at INY and may not seem like he is worthy of a top 5 ranking but a win over The Champ and a draw with Jon Monroe seems to have earned him a Top 5. he is all set to face Jon Monroe in a rematch Friday to decide who is the better man.

Honorable Mentions : John Davies(6-2-0), Rafael Santa Cruz(7-3-0), Roger Xu(9-5-0), Safdar Al Razzi(5-3-0), Mahatma Gandhi(5-4-0), Delroy Holmes(6-4-0), Adriano Cassimiro Andrade(5-1-0), Georges St. Pierre(7-4-0).

Middleweight (185)

1. Anthony Ventura (8-0-0) Anthony has been in a class of his own since joining Immortals taking the strap in only his second bout here. He completely shut down Bowman Rook in his last title defense earning a "KO of the Night"award. This Saturday will be the long awaited rematch with Michael Melton Sr. for the belt.

2. Michael Melton Sr. (9-3-0) Melton a two time champ here at 185 put away Rupert Harmsworthy at FN 31 by TKO in his last bout. Melton is known for putting on great fights like his triad of fights with Archie Fallon, if any one can derail the champ Melton has got to be the guy to do it.

3. Tyler Richards (14-5-0) This dude looks like a complete beast, this former two time Valhalla middleweight champ is looking to make a impact here at Immortals now. No match is booked yet for Tyler but i for one can't wait to see how he fairs in his INY debut.

4. Randy Turner (9-1-0) Turner is a former 205 Pound champ that is dropping down to middleweight to do battle. After winning his first 9 fights he was upset by Matt Youngblood at INY 39. He has been out for a few months and will look to be making his 185 lb debut soon.

5. Milton Knight (8-4-0) This guy is my darkhorse pick at 185 , he was the last man to beat former champ Archie Fallon and is 2-0 at INY. He will face off with the always scrappy Charlie Meyers Feb 1rst at INY 58.

Honorable Mentions : Ishkabibble Schmukinphart(7-4-0), Elvis Ronan(11-5-0), Charlie Meyers(7-4-0), Bowman Rook(6-2-0), Dylan Beretta(6-3-0), Rupert Harmsworthy(8-5-0), Patrick Whales(7-1-0), Mario Silva(9-4-0), Laph Roaig(6-3-0), Ben Roofer(7-1-0).

LightHeavyweight (205)

1. Matt Youngblood (15-2-0) 11 of Matt's last 12 fights have been title fights in two diffrent Organizations. He is currently ranked 58th in the world at 205 and i believe he may go down as the most dominant champ in Immortals History. Before that happens though he will need to go through Jules Winnfield on Jan 23rd.

2. Jules Winnfield (10-3-0) Jules is 2-1 in the INY cage only lossing to Samir Oliva via TKO(cut ). he has finnished his last two fights with first round KO's and looks to be a serious contender. Jules will have a chance to take down the champ Youngblood , he will need to keep that face clean though to do so.

3. Samir Oliva (11-5-0) Samir is coming off the biggest fight of his career when he dropped a 5 rounder to Matt Youngblood for the belt. He showed he has a ton of heart in that war and will be a guy to watch still in the future.

4. Tatsumi Fujinami (8-3-0) Fujinami is riding a 4 fight win streak including a TKO finish of Shamar Jackson at FN 33. He will now focus all of his attention on Barristan Selmy at FN 36.

5. Lamont Banner (9-4-1) Banner is coming over from Valhalla with a impressive resume. Lamont has notched 8 of his 9 wins by first round submission. He has a fight offer in the works currently but nothing is confirmed as of yet.

Honorable Mentions : Barristan Selmy(6-2-0), Shamar Jackson(8-4-0), Serj Wunderkind(7-3-0), Richard Renninger(7-1-0), Cullen Castrello(9-7-0), Cyril Kalenth(15-7-2), Milad Yakubi(6-2-0).

Heavyweight (265)

1. Soham Ray (8-1-0) Ray became the new champ at INY 46 dethroning then champ Vyacheslav Kalashnikov in a 5 round Unannimous Decision. It does not get any easier for Soham though as he will take on former Heavyweight Ace Derric Styles in one of the most hyped fights in INY history.Gotta give Ray some respect as he grants the former champ a immediate title fight as he returns.

2. Derric Styles (13-1-0) The former champ is back now under the managment of Mike Melton and is looking to rebound after his upsetting loss to Kalashnikov at INY 35. Derric has already cemented his spot in the Immortals Hall of Fame but at 23 looks to have a lot left in the tank. The fight with Ray for the belt will go down at INY 56.

3. Vyacheslav Kalashnikov (10-3-0) Kalashnikov is the most dangerous striker in the division as he has won all ten of his wins by way of either TKO or KO. It will be interesting to see how he reacts to the loss to Ray, as he is set to face Devin Styles for a second time at INY 56.

4. Devin Styles (9-2-0) The other Styles brother has been slowly creeping up the rankings and now finds himself in a possible Title elimanator with the former champ. Devin lost his first bout with Kaly but has showed improvement in his last 3 bouts and is ready to bring the Thunder.

5. Minowa Fujiati (6-0-0) Fujiati has been a killer in the INY cage finishing all 6 of his fights here. One fight that sticks out is a Submission win over current champ Sohan Ray back in September. Minowa has been inactive for a while now along with the rest of DKJ camp.

Honorable Mentions : Walter Kurtz(6-2-0), Optimus Rimes(4-0-0), Mikhail Van Kirkland(8-5-0), Shavo Odin(7-4-0), Nicky Mazzio(6-3-0), Warren Worthington(6-3-0), Bruno Miles(6-5-0), Curtis Jackson(6-4-0).

SuperHeavyweight (265+)

1. Irving Brown (8-1-0) Irving captured the 265+ title at INY 49 by avenging his only loss, ironicly by Head Kick over Former champ Anderson Fontes. He will next face Andrei Chikatilo at INY 57.

2. Andrei Chikatilo (10-2-0) Chikatilo comes from a very respected camp and impressed the INY front office with a "Fight of the Night" performance in his debut. He will now get his oppurtunity to challenge for the belt as he collides with the champ Irving Brown Jan. 26th.

3. Anderson Fontes (8-2-0) Fontes is a former superheavy champ of Immortals and has made quite a name for himself as a finnisher. He was stopped in his last bout by Irving Brown whom he previously beat, time will tell if they have a rubber match. Next up will be Ravil Lebedev as they collide for the second time.

4. Ravi Lebedev (8-1-0) Ravil also a former and the very first immortals Superheavyweight champ has only one loss in the cage. That one loss was a stoppage due to cut, which he will get a chance to wipe that taste from his mouth as he faces Anderson Fontes in a rematch at INY 57.

5. Nikita Olavski (8-3-0) Olavski is currently on a 2 fight win streak notching back to back submission victories both under 3 minutes of the first round. He is set to fight up and comer TJ Heisman on Feb 2nd.

Honorable Mentions : Leroy Jenkin(5-1-0), Don King(7-1-0), Bruce Hoo Le Sheet(6-3-0), Bison Bradley(7-2-0), Augostino Peitexiera(10-8-0), Le'Veon Banks(4-0-0), Warren Hotop(6-4-0)

Thats a wrap for now, lastly im looking to bring over one of my top fighters to Immortals , my question is has anyone noticed if going up in weight causes any negative affects to there fighters.

Thanks all Pat Miletich!!!

Skull Crash: It feels good to see my name in the top 5 in my weight category, even though you got my spelling wrong..Its been tough, coming back after suffering losses in the first 2 fights of my career..I was so close to quitting it..but Mr. Boyka would hear none of it..he said he believes in me..and that he is confident of me doing well..something that I was not so sure of at that time..So..wherever I have reached or will reach from now..I owe it all to Mr. Boyka..

Sandoval is going to break Huxley in half and go straight for the title. Kirkland or Wauler had better keep that belt nice and warm for the future LW GOAT.

Its good to have dreams. Keep dreaming kid.

"The Joker" Joko Diaz

" I am jacked to have just signed a 5 fight deal here with Immortals, and this 155 pound division here is by far the best i have seen around the world. This is the reason i have chosen to sign with INY i want to fight the best, my past competition has been straight pathetic and with names like Wauler, Van Kirkland, Huxley, Smith, Pintor, Vieri, Saunders, and Young i know i will be tested. Looking forward to having some wars here and maybe choke some fools out too."

MMAtv presents: The Immortals Show

Featuring the greatest team of MMA experts in the business.

Camera zooms in on the four- Bob Jones, Rahziki Hendayko, Frankie Desir, and Jesse Shiner

Bob Jones: Hello everyone me and the team are ready to give you the action. Jesse Shiner is actually out in the field and will be interviewing some managers and fighters to getter closer look at the action. We go down to Jesse now.

[

I]Jesse is shown outside the Immortals Gym on the screen[/i]

Jesse Shiner:[/i]Hey guys I’m just waiting for a couple of the fighters and managers to get done training and doing their normal business and I’ll let you know when we are ready.

Cuts Back

Bob Jones:Thanks Jesse. Later we will also be previewing INY 55 Ventura versus Melton II and giving predictions with Frankie and Jesse as they give them in the lightning round.

Hendayko: We;; Bob recently champion in the welterweight division- Erik Bennett lost his title to Donald 2.0 Stewart. In the fifth round Stewart got a TKO. What a comeback for Stewart who was once a .500 fighter. It reminds me of Tohino Cerezo but hopefully with a better ending.

Desir: Ay ay and Bennett aint no pushover he gets the title back I think he’s a hall of famer. How da Hell do I get on da committee Mr. Peel Steel!?

Jones: Haha you’re a riot Frankie. But lets talk about these two new signings in Immortals from the now extinct 4 kings Amsterdam org. Erkki Vieri is the former 170 pound champ and Tyler Richards was 7-2 in title matches at 205 at 4 kings.

Desir: My magazine dida story on dat kid Vieri before he’s one of the best he beat Aquino who everayone thought was unbeatable! Vieri isa well rounded kid. He gunna fight at one fity five here though. He needs tah earn da title shot though, have em face the loser of Huxley and Wauler for it.

Hendayko:I agree. Vieri is talented though and has 10 TKO victories 7 of em at 170 and now he’s dropping down weight so maybe the KO’s will rack up more. He got beat pretty good by Esteban Miller and we shall see how he handles the immortals competition.

Jones:Richards fought at 205 but now will at 185 and he has been pretty impressive as well. He is a beast wrestler and already a black belt at age 24. He has a pretty small reach but that allows him to get under opponents for takedowns, although he can be picked off from the outside. He is able to get TKO’s and submissions so watch out.

Jesse Shiner shows up on the screen

Jesse Shiner: Hey guys I’m here with Alexi Zaitev owner of the Immortals gym and big time manager for questions.

How does opening a private gym for the Immortals fighters create new opportunities and advantages for them?

ZaitevWell my good sir, the opening of an org only gym gives access to all the managers who are a part of Immortals the ability to have top notch training for almost no cost to them.

Shiner: That’s awesome, top training and good cost for the best young fighters! Give us a little insight on your training strategies for your fighters such as champ Anthony Ventura.

ZaitevFor me, I start out with a very specific idea when I create a fighter or pick one off of the free agent list. The first priority is to get his defense to respectable levels, say wonderful for take down defense, clinchwork, strike defense and defensive grappling. Once defense is taken care of, I focus on rounding out my fighter so he has the ability to fight wherever the fight takes place. I am all about having as many weapons in the proverbial toolbox as I can when I go into a fight.

Shiner: Defense wins championships.

With a huge surge overtime of popularity in Immortals do you think your gym will contribute to its success over time?

ZaitevI believe the gym will be more appealing to the newer members of Immortals who may not have the access to the best training like an older manager. Older managers, on the other hand, have access to a top notch gym in the same city as the org so they won't have to worry about flights to and from cities and risk causing a NC or coming into a fight with low energy.

Shiner:You have a couple of fighters in Immortals now, how has the experience been as a manager?

ZaitevI have to say, I have been playing this game for 31 months now, that is eons in game terms considering when i started, fighter id's were in the 79,000's! Immortal's all around experience with all the manager involvement and all the write ups to add flavor too the org makes it my favorite organization in the game, no offense to the organizations run by my current or former alliance mates or great orgs such as Ascension, Canadian Fighting Championship, and GAMMA in Las Vegas. I have fought in a orgs of all shapes and sizes and this one, from top to bottom, is my favorite.

Shiner:Last question Mr. Zaitev- with Ventura's success in Immortals- who do you think will be his toughest competition in the future? At any weight class Ventura can fight at

Zaitev:On the subject of Ventura, his toughest test is the one immediately in front of him with Melton Sr, however, long term, I see fighters like Van Kirkland at 155, Matt Youngblood at 205, and all the top guys at 265 are all threats to Ventura in different ways and Ventura will have to show up at 100% each and every time he fights in order to keep his current undefeated streak going.

In closing, I would like to thank Johnny Lee Paris, Peel Steel, Myron Monroe who have contributed to the Immortals organization gym and best of luck to everyone with fights this weekend and in the coming week.

Cuts back to Jones and the Crew

Jones: Big thanks to Alexi Zaitev there. The Immortals gym is only 500 dollars a week with 15 elite coaches. That’s unbelievably awesome huh Rahziki?

Hendayko:As a former fighter who was very poor and my manager was at the time too… That’s an awesome deal and you train with other experienced young fighters and you better hurry and get a spot fighters!!!

Jones:Alright now we are going to bring onto the show to help us host- The one and only and controversial 155 pound fighter… Shane Wellman Junior Everyone!

Junior shakes hands and hugs former teammate Hendayko and sits

Junior: Hey guys Jesse told me I’d be doing the picks for him today so I’m pumped and thanks for having me on the show.

Desir: Aye anytime kid! Whats going on for you after your win against Landers?

Junior: Haha you’re a riot Frankie, and just getting ready for my next fight I started training again and it looks to be soon I might be fighting Corey Smith again and it should be a battle. I think I’m a better fighter now and can get a win as I continue to progress. I wanted revenge against Jimmy Young too but that’ll have to wait I guess haha! No matter what though I’m going to go out and fight hard no matter who I face. The cards are really filling up though!

Jones:That they are with Immortals huge roster and the fans want more fights. Lets get down to the picks for INY 55 though and you and Frankie will give a short explanation each. You guys ready?

Junior: I’m about ready to school Frankie!

Desir: Haha in ya dreams kiddo!

Jones: Alright first up at 135 2-3 Dexler versus 1-2 Tutov.

Junior: Can’t pick against my teammate. Dexler is pretty good and his losses were to real good fighters and he has good hands.

Desir:Your boy has been slacking. I’m going with Tutov who is an awesome boxer and has a purple belt just in case it hit’s the ground. Good luck to your boy though.

Hendayko: Now at light heavyweight 4-1 Ryan De Pury versus 4-7-1 Pepper Froglegs.

Desir:De Pury is a pretty good wrestler but he has never face Immortals esque competition and Pepper is the veteran, even though Pepper has a losing record I’m going with him by KO.

Junior: I’ll take Pepper who recently beat MyFace and Silver in decision victories.

Desir: Now we got 4-3 Vilhelm Alminglikish against 3-4 Romeo Washington at 185. I like Vilhelm here even though he recently was KO’d by Beretta.Vilhelm has good power and hands and outmatches Washington.

Junior: Agreed, Washington has lost 4 straight.

Jones:How about 6-7 Sweaty Mullins versus 5-5 Comanche Todd at 185 whos got this?

Junior: Mullins has not ducked any fights and he has a good defense and awesome wrestling I like him in this fight and he can land a submission in this fight.

Desir: Wrong again kiddo! Mullins has been finished 6 damn times already! I like Todd here by TKO- he’s a pretty good striker!

Junior: Next up on the list I have at 135 the 2-0-1 Kikovic versus 3-1 Marku Parasca. Kikovic comes off a win over Tutov and Parasca has 2 submission victories but 1 submission loss. I like Parasca as I like submission guys such as myself, very good fight between two very good fighters and very young and both may soon have a chance at a title shot at 135.

Desir: Kikovic still hasn’t lost and has very good kicks and knee’s and I like him by KO and as the next contender for the belt.

Jones: Onto the main card, at 205 the 4-2 Taco Bueno and Cyril Kalenith who is an incredible 15-7-2 and a former champ in UFL. Both fighters are excellent rounded fighters with wrestling being their base.

Junior: I like Bueno here with a TKO victory. HE has good wrestling and a black belt which I’m still aiming for. That combo is gunna be hard to stop and he has 4 stoppages already. Kalenth is the better striker though and he has a chance on the feet.

Desir: We can agree on this cuz I like Bueno too after his dominant victory over Castrello. Bueno has face all the toughest fighters in Immortals and Kalenth is 1-2 in the org.

Junior: We have at 205 here Serj Wunderkind at 7-3. His opponent is 6-2 newcomer 6-2 Milad Yakubi over from Troid. Wunderkind has awesome Muy Thai and I’m going with him here he is able to get TKO’s with knees and kicks and can end fights quick or drag it out in the clinch. Yakubi has a brown belt and can land submissions but isn’t as well rounded.

Desir: Two in a row fah us here Junior! I like Wunderkind too who has 2 wins in a row, Yakubi has 6 finishes though so watch out for him here and don’t underestimate him yet!

Jones: Next up is 9-7 Cullan Castrello who has lost 4 straight at 205 including 4 in a row, he faces 8-4 Shamar Jackson who comes off of 2 losses.

Junior: Castrello may have lost a couple but they were too good fighters! I like him here as he’s very well rounded with his strength being striking and getting submissions when an opponent is weakened. He has 5 TKO’s and 3 submissions so I like him here.

Desir:You lost me again kid, Jackson is gunna wrestle the crap outta him and getta decision. Did you know Jackson has a black belt? Thought you loved your BJJ guys? Jackson will go for his sixth submission victory against Castrello.

Our co main event here is a big one at 185- coming off of 3 wins is the 6-5 Mike Mink and 7-4 Ishkabibble Schmukinphart who we call Schmuk for short. I like Mink here who has a good wrestling background with 4 TKO victories and has a purple belt to defend Schmuk’s nasty submissions.

Junior: See now I like Schmuk with his nasty submissions here he has 5 in his 7 victories, check that 6 and a TKO! He beat the 6-3 Beretta and has a brown belt and is very confident heading into this fight.

Jones: Our big main event is the rematch we have all been waiting for at 185 for the Title the 8-0 Anthony Ventura versus 9-3 Mike Melton Senior. I won’t pick who I like but I’ll talk about both. Ventura has been a beast and beat Melton before, he has great cardio and great hands and lands 90 percent of his punches to the head! Wow! He has a good base to prevent takedowns and a brown belt and is managed by Alexi Zaitev. Ventura recently beat Bowman Rook by TKO. Melton Senior has been champ twice and beat Archie Fallon in 2 out of their 3 matches. Senior’s specialty is on the ground where he is a tough wrestler and likes to work for submissions and ground punches.

Junior: I like Melton Senior, revenge is always served best cold and Senior is gunna be cold blooded this time and lockdown. I like him in a 48:47 decision.

Desir: Ventura goes down in Immortals history KO’ing Melton Senior and showing who is the best.

Hendayko: I think if Senior wins Ventura fights one more fight and also gets a rematch, but either way I can’t wait to see the fight no matter who wins it’ll be a show for the fans.

Jones: Shane we understand you have to go, have a good one and good luck with your training.

Junior: Thanks guys see ya all soon. Waves and jogs out

Hendayko: We have a short segment here too end the show just to talk about each of the title pictures. At 170 Donald Stewart just TKO’d Erik Bennett and he has not signed a fight yet. I think Jon Davies needs to face better fighters till he’s ready so I think Bennett gets a rematch and why not, then the winner of Monroe and Kharlamov gets that as Kharlamov just lost to 2.0 Stewart.

Jones: At 155 Wauler and Van Kirkland face off for a title shot and next in line is up in the air.. Pintor, Smith, and newcomer Vieri are all up there.

Desir: At 185 we just talked about Melton Senior and Ventura, I think next in line is Tyler Richards and Charlie Meyers if he wins. Also at 205 Youngblood is still champ and is a beast and faces Winnfield. Next up should be 9-4-1 Banner and Serj Wunderkind for some new blood in the mix at 205.

Jones: Last out of our big divisions is 265 where Soham Roy will face Hall of Famer Derric Styles for the belt and I like Styles in that one. But next up would be the loser of that match, the former champ Kally, and Devin Styles whos always a beast.

Hendayko: Thank you all for watching the program, we will catch you in two weeks with updates and new breaking news. Have a good one fans.

Screen pans out, music plays and the Immortals logo shows and the program ends.

Swag Fo Dayz - "Lupe Pintor is a fraud, he's not a very good fighter. I only lost because my Manager is a noob and forgot to set my sliders before the fight and Tell me to get off the ground, so instead I just laid on my back for 10 minutes straight... The first round I DOMINATED him

Then he dodged a rematch when I requested it, clearly he knows he dodged a bullet...

Lupe Pintor is a fraud... I will have my revenge"

first off, great job love the show. Second, I think those chumps completely disrespected the 265 + division. there are some very solid fighters in that division and they didn't even bother talking about it. I guess the big boys are just going to have to earn their respect.

MMAAddict.com presents:

MMA insider with Ricky Warner

Ricky Warner: Hello ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the show. I'm Ricky Warner, your host. Tonight we have two very special guests on the show. Brunno Falcone and Corey "Thunder" Smith.

Welcome to the show guys.

Brunno Falcone: Yeah, tanks for havin' us, Ricky.

Corey Smith: It's always a pleasure, Ricky.

Ricky Warner: Corey, I understand that you have just signed to fight a rematch with Shane Wellman Jr. What's the story behind that?

Smith: Frankly, I don't know. Maybe Wellman was agitating for it? Who knows? I think it's ridiculous to fight him again. His rank is pretty low at the moment and I am looking to close out my career on a high note. Not beating someone I have already bested.

Warner: You don't think Wellman Jr. is worthy of a rematch?

Smith: Well, to put it rather bluntly? No. I mean, no disrespect intended to Junior or anything. He is a good fighter and he seems like he has a future here. But he isn't the top tier prospect I was expecting to get an offer for. I asked for Huxley, and I get Wellman Jr. Huxley gets a fight with Sandoval. Huxley is going to whip that boy like a red-headed step child. Sandoval is pretty good too, but who has he fought? Outside of Shane Wellman Jr., which he lost, by the way, he hasn't fought any of the top guys. Huxley is going to murder him. I don't know what to think anymore.

Falcone: We ain't got nuttin' bad ta say about Wellman Jr. see. Weez just think dat he ain't ready for a rematch yet. It ain't been but eight monts since da last fight wit him. I tink dat Peel Steel is just tryin' a' jerk us around, see? He keeps playin' dis game wit us and and no reason for it. We ain't never declined no fights in dis here org. Not even da ones what we should have declined. And he wants ta trow dis kind a fight at us. Makes me mad.

Smith: I don't know what's up either, man. I'll fight Wellman Jr. again. It doesn't matter to me. I will lay another beating on him and then move on to bigger and better things. At least there ought to be bigger and better things.

Warner: You think that maybe Mr. Steel is just trying to build up some hype for the fight?

Smith: Hype? How, by making me beat a guy I already whooped up on. Hardly sporting. We know how this one ends. Shane, you're a good guy, but you aren't gonna beat me, bro. It's that simple.

Falcone: After dis here fight, Corey, here, has two more fights on da contract. So we gots ta see what's what after dis. Dey plays around wit us and we might take our ball and go play for anuder team, capish?

Smith: I don't know about all of that, but it might be time to take a step back and reevaluate my priorities and think about my options.

Warner: And what are those options?

Smith: Well... one of them is retirement. Another option would be one of the many other orgs out there, but I don't want to sound like I am making any ultimatums here. Just saying that it is one the table. We got two new guys in the division that I would like to see how they stand up to my strikes. Joko Diaz comes in and gets a higher ranking than me? Well, then... step on up, son. [laughs] Vieri is another one that could possibly be tough. Let's see how they hold up under the acid test first. Lots of guys came to the Immortals thinking they were total bad asses and look what happened to a lot of them. Cullen Castrello? Ray Cold, Hell even Carver Cade. They weren't up to the challenge. I gotta say though, Vieri looks the real deal.

Warner: Would you accept a fight with one of those two next?

Falcone: Hell, yeah, he would! My boy Corey, here. He ain't never ducked no one!

Smith: Yeah. I would fight either of them. Assuming that I don't get either a title shot or another crack at Huxley first. Joko should probably not wish for that fight though... I have seen this guy in action... [shakes head] He's going to get hurt over here. [looking straight into the camera] This is the big leagues, son.

Falcone: OK, weez gots ta get going. Corey, here, has got trainin' ta get back to. He ain't taking dis lightly, but I knows how dis one goes down. You can look at da video of da last fight ta see. Aldoh weez gonna try and make sure, what Wellman don't even get no takedowns next time at all, capish?

Smith: Yeah, thanks for having us on again, Ricky.

Warner: Anytime guys. Well, there you have it. Tune in next time when we spotlight another of the Immortals New York fighter, right here on MMAAddict.com. Be safe and see you at the fights.

Immortals Press Release: INY Legends Return , Jan 25 2013.

"On Jan 25 not only do we have the return of Derric Styles taking on the new King Soham Roy, plus Kally vs Devin, but we also have two fighters who have never turned down a fight no matter how tough the opponent. On this occasion on 8 days notice, despite no real desire to 'do this again' these two warriors will have their own gold to fight for on this card. As a special thank you for their service, and for stepping in at short notice, this fight will now be for a place in:

The Hall of Fame

Champions come and go, must on Jan 25 , Corey 'Thunder' Smith will fight Shane Wellman Jnr for the honor of Immortality.

It does not get bigger than this."
