Crazy how other countries without guns don't have that problem. I'm not apologizing for anything. It's intentionally misleading and he knows it.

To clear this up... those cities with those mass shootings and murders have nothing to do with gun laws... strict gun laws.. or relaxed guns law... it has nothing to do with it.

that's what happens when you have a dense population of poverty in confined areas and a mass amount of people who have embraced a violent culture.

there's all kinds of trailer, hillbilly, livin in the woods poverty people... but they aren't very likely to get into shootouts with their neighbors over what colors they're wearing.

we need a massive culture change. right now the media is imprinting deranged school shooting activity and it's being advertised to a bunch of kids who begin to fantasize about extracting revenge on people who make fun of them, pick on em, disagree with em... you know why there's so many mass shootings? because it's front page news, constantly. it's getting imprinted into people's brains. the media, the internet, music, movies, games, all that shit plays a role to some degree. combine that with mental instability, dementia, or very hurt or sick individuals... throw it in a shaker and shake her all about and boom. some people come out of it shooting.

European countries have the same Internet, music, movies and games. And mental illnesses exist here too. Why are massacres not as prevalent here?

Also, that's only the month February, which saw an unusual uptick. In March London had one more homicide. Over the last year New York more than doubled Londen in homicides

Access to firearms obviously enables crazy people to get a hold of em and use em.

You combine all those European countries together and you might have the same population numbers as the United States... 3rd most populated country in world.

IIRC Germany is the only country in Europe (not counting Russia) that is in the top 15 most populated countries in the world.

But per capita it happens a lot less too... And not just mass shootings, total mass violence

Firstly the daily mail is a particularly shit newspaper. I wouldn't recommend it as a reputable source of information.

Second if this is followed:

Guidelines introduced in 2005 allow people to protect themselves 'in the heat of the moment' including using an object as a weapon. They can also stop an intruder running off, for example by tackling them to the ground.

There is no specific definition of 'reasonable force' and it is said to depend on the circumstances.

Government guidance states that if a person 'only did what you honestly thought was necessary at the time, this would provide strong evidence that you acted within the law'.

Then he should be ok. I assume as someone has been hurt/killed they need to investigate the circumstances behind it.

Thirdly if he's 78 and taking on 2 intruders he must be a tough old dude!

Wow what a way to leave someone out to hang and be decide on how you feel at the time -- what you feel and someone else feels is "necessary at the time" is just a stupid way to law -- you might not feel that is was "necessary at the time" but him being 78 yrs old probably does feel it was "necessary at the time" -- what a way to leave charges up to how a judge feels at the time, lmao -- on last part i give the guy props, a 78 yr old man that fought back and won against 2 attackers but now might end up in prison defending himself -- what a joke dude is a hero and one less crook piece of shit

It would be a shitty situation. Could happen in the U.S. though. Sometimes in the U.S. it allows people to get away with killing another on that 'stand your ground' shit. Not sure how other countries work, but in American the worst part about getting arrested (even if the charges are BS and will get dropped...) is you're getting kidnapped and held for ransom by the government. and you have to sit in a cell for X amount of time or pay the ransom fee to get released.

There's a lot of shit that don't make the news and the government would prefer 'stand your ground' cases not to become public because there's too many potential blurry lines involved and it'll get racial really quick.

So an off-duty and an on-duty cop. Yeah, those are people I trust with a weapon. Every random civilian? Hell nah

There was a school police officer in school that's now in critical condition, wasn't he armed?

yes but i took the comment to be towards non-police having guns normal citizens being school teachers or other workers there

also wow one school guard that im sure the student knew was the only guard he could simply walk up to the guard and shoot him first with the pistol he had, the guard wouldn't think any different than a student walking up to ask something probably -- he hid the sawed off shotgun under his trench coat which they said he always wore -- one person to guard an entire school with so many entries and exits also

thats like having one guard protecting fort knox -- knowing only one armed guard makes it easy still

He didn't walk up to the guard though. The guard got shot after the shooting began. Just seems like a lot easier to just bit let people have guns, instead of having an entire army in every school
