155 Champion of BBFC, GC, WPFC

"I'm just a fan of Bellicose.  But when I hear a fighter say he's the King of the Ground, then that must make me the God of the Ground game.  Howlett has some impressive accomplishments on the ground, but he's just a spec in my shadow."

James Howlett: Well let's do this. I could always use another subordinate tapping to my superiority. Even God's tap to the king.

Dan Kolov (1-0)  vs  Youta Himura (3-7)

Outlaw - Kolov is coming off a victory in his CDFC debut last fight, but now he steps up into the Bellicose cage where it’s a whole new jungle.  His win over Bo Hell showed he had some power behind those punches as he ended that fight in 36 seconds.  Just a testimant to his boxing skills that he will couple with his wrestling to take this fight to Himura.

Himura is on the other end of the spectrum having lost three strait fights.  He does have strong wrestling and boxing, but his best attribute is his Muay Thai.  That really hasn’t translated into the cage of late though, and he’ll have his work cut out for him against the upstart, Kolov.

Sonny - Kolov gives up the stat difference but Himura’s chin is a Xmas present on a platter. Or under the tree. Or whatever. But you get my point. Kolov better use this as a knockout steppingstone and we’ll see him in one month! Kolov KO round 1

Marcos Furriel (3-0)  vs  Stella Fella (0-1)

Outlaw - Furriel comes into this fight a perfect 3-0 in his time in Outlaw.  He’s a young gun on the roster and a prospect in the org but showcasing his skills on the main card this week where he’ll look to shine bright under the big lights.  He’s a very balanced fighter but seems to be far more versatile on the ground.

Fella lost his MMA debut against Furriel in quick fashion but hopes to turn things around with this second chance.  Honestly, I didn’t realize until just now that these two were fighting again, back-to-back, which is a complete lapse on my part.  Hopefully, it was just replacing a fighter last moment.  I do apologize for this oversight.  On the flip side, this is a huge shot for Fella to switch up his strategy and turn the tables.  Overall, his skills on the feet are far superior to that of Furriel and if he can keep this fight standing, he should be able to get an easy win.  However, as the last fight will show, if this fight goes to the ground that Fella will be in a painfully familiar situation.

Sonny - This fight may have been accidentally booked, but reeks of opportunity. Fella has everything to gain and not nearly as much to lose. Plus with technically two training camps for the same matchup you would think that they can pull the trigger and improve from his knockout lost the first time they met. Do you think, but I do not see much improvement in his wrestling and this fight will probably go the same as the first. Furriel TKO round 1

Toyotomi Ieyasu (2-2)  vs  Wilbur Ratt (3-1)

Outlaw - Ieyasu is coming into this fight looking to snap a two-fight skid.  He started strong but has had two bad losses in a row and desperately needs a win to turn things around.  His boxing skills are his strength when standing, but he shines on the ground.  He boats a black blet in BJJ along with superb wrestling which is how he picked up those first two submission wins.

His opponent, Wilbur Ratt, is 3-1 and will not be an easy win for Ieyasu.  He’s evenly matched in boxing but holds a significant advantage in his Muay Thai striking while also matching his wrestling.  However, that wrestling alone won’t save him if this fight gets on the ground as he’s only a purple belt in BJJ and will be at a huge disadvantage if he is rolling in the deep with Ieyasu.  Ratt’s last fight was won via split decision, so don’t expect him to want to let this fight go the distance if he can help it.

Sonny - Ieyasu looks to put that sexy black belt to use tomorrow night and I think with the fighter’s wrestling at the same level this fight should eventually go to the ground. This is where it will most likely be decided as well. Rat better better try and finish this fight quick because once he hits the mat he is tapping. I am liking Ieyasu to take the surprise first round sub. this fight quick because once he hits the mat he is tapping.

Scottie Tarantino (6-1)  vs  Samuel Summers (4-2)

Outlaw - Tarantino is 6-1 and somehow finds himself not in the top 10 of the rankings.  Most likely, it’s because he’s only had 1 fight under new manager and is 2-1 in Bellicose to date.  But a win over Summers could change that.  He’s not the greatest striker but makes up for that on the ground with his sensational wrestling.  He’ll look to use that again to control this fight and keep Summers in uncomfortable positions all fight.

Summers will not go down without a fight though.  He’s an exceptional boxer who’s been working on his Muay Thai as well.  A superb wrestler who has been using his wrestling to help him keep the fight standing, but it won’t be enough to help him control the fight if it goes to the ground so expect him to want to keep this fight standing at all costs.

Sonny - Summers definitely been working on the stand up and it shows. Unfortunately, with Tarantino‘s dominant wrestling game I feel all focus they have been better guided to take down defense and general wrestling abilities. Could be the game plan though and Summers could just be looking for the KO instead of grinding out a takedown defense of victory. Even still, I think Tarantino will flex that ground control for the Decision victory.

Leonid Zakharov (4-2)  vs  Chris Tamburello (6-5)

Outlaw - Mr. Steroid himself, Zakharov snaped his 2-fight skid last time out with a huge TKO victory over Nunes.  He’s a sensational boxer with excellent Muay Thai skills making him a great striker.  He’s also developed an exceptional wrestling game which helps him control the action in the clinch or to help keeping it standing.  This fight will be very even, so I fully expect these two to stand and bang and see who the last man standing is.

Tamburello is 6-5 and in a very similar situation in his last 3 fights having just snapped a two-fight skid with a TKO victory over Sup in his last outing.  With exceptional boxing and great Muay Thai skills, along with exceptional wrestling, he matches up almost perfectly with Zakharov, which will make this a very interesting fight to watch.

Sonny - Wait, Zakharov is fighting someone? As soon as he walked out for the intro I may or may not have got lost in the vast landscape of the chiseled architecture on his chest and shoulders. Ok I’m back. Zakharov is indeed fighting Chris "CT" Tamburello and this should be quite the matchup! Tamburello can keep up with Zakharov  everywhere and only gives the slightest edge away in boxing. However Tamburello does lug around a very suspect chin and I think Z‘s KO power will hone in on this advantage. Early KO round 1 for Zakharov.

(9) Dontae Gutierrez (3-1)  vs  (4) Isopaa Mfer (5-0)

Outlaw - Gutierrez is a young up and comer who was impressive in his Bellicose debut with a 1-minute submission over Yu.  While he’s got a respectable standing game, he’s an assassin on the ground having won all three of his victories by submission using his brown belt in BJJ.

Across from him will be a very difficult test as Isopaa Mfer matches up with him perfectly on the ground.  Also being a brown belt, and possibly even a slightly better wrestler, this will be a very good fight between both fighters.  The difference in this fight may actually come by way of the standing game where Mfer has a significant striking advantage.  He may not want to rush into the ground fight while having this advantage, but no doubt Gutierrez will look to push it to the ground as quickly as possible to level the playing field.

Sonny - Gutierrez is certainly a highly specialized ground fighter and looks forward to showcasing his skills this Friday night. His opponent Mfer though needs no introduction. Mfer has that perfect 5-0 record and is highly successful at winning the fight wherever it goes. He doesn’t need you control the position he just dominates wherever his opponent dares take it. I may be buying a round of beer later for this choice, but I am going to go with Gutierrez here as Mfer does not seem to offer much on his TDD and Gutierrez has a more pure ground game. Quick takedowns and advancing position from the top is the key for Gutierrez to grind out his decision victory.

(4) Paddy Dimblett (7-0)  vs  (6) Shingen Takeda (9-3)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Paddy Dimblett          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Shingen Takeda

Outlaw - Dimblett is a perfect 7-0 and has done it entirely on the ground via submissions.  His brown belt in BJJ is becoming legendary and he will look to continue that against Takeda who’s got a reputation as being a legend on the ground himself.  Takeda may want to keep this fight standing for a while where he’s got a significant advantage, but no doubt this fight will end up on the ground at one point or another.

Takeda is not only a black belt in BJJ and a remarkable wrestler, he’s also a remarkable boxer and may look to capitalize on that advantage in this fight.  But all 9 of his victories have come via submission and it would be a personal accomplishment to get #10 against a renowned submission artist.

Sonny - Brown belt Paddy Dimblett has 7 subs to his name. All his wins have come by submission in fact. Impressive? Of course! Until you look at his opponent Takeda who offers nine subs on his record and a black belt to back them.  What I think will make the five difference here is Takeda actually has a very impressive takedown defense rate at 91% successfull. If Dimblett can’t take the fight to the ground ASAP he is in for a nasty evening. I see Takeda wearing out Dimblett on the feet and grinding out a stand up decision victory.

(3) Alexander Kuznetsov (6-2)  vs  Cyborg Reyes (6-4)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Alexander Kuznetsov           VS            Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Cyborg Reyes

Outlaw - Kuznetsov is an impressive specimen.  Coming in at 6-2 riding a 2-fight win streak, Kuznetsov is a hell of a striker in the middleweight division.  His sensational boxing is his bread and butter, but he’s a very accomplished Muay Thai and Wrestling artist.  His BJJ is a bit lacking, but it’s never been his strong point and he’s been able to mask it this point into his career with solid wrestling and the ability to end a fight in a flash.

Across the cage from him stands Cyborg Reyes.  Reyes has had some great success in his career but has lost 3 of his last 4 fights and needs to bounce back something awful.  He does have a solid stand-up game and some legit wrestling, but he appears to be overmatched in this fight against Kuznetsov.  Reyes can pack a punch and therefor has a punches chance at a win, but he’ll be fighting an uphill battle and will need to install an excellent gameplan to have a legit chance at winning this fight.

Sonny - Kuznetsov and Reyes are both specialists in providing excitement to Bellicose fans. PhDs in violence and a thirst for blood is why these fighter ARE Bellicose! Now to the banging... my man Reyes has a hell of a heart and powerful hands. Kuznetsov brings in a granite chin insurance policy to the fight. When you notice Kuznetsov also enjoys the boxing advantage in this fight I think he may rely on his granite and coast to a decision victory for a surprise change to his usual gameplan. Reyes will not be having this though so look for him to try and take Kuznetsov’s head off early. End the end I have to legally make picks - so Kuznetsov it is. Decision.

Co-Main Event

(3) Davante Dunbar (6-2)  vs  (2) James Carter (7-2)

Outlaw - Dunbar, the number 3 contender in the division faces off against Carter who’s the #2 contender in the division.  In all likelihood, the winner of this fight will be the #1 contender looking for a title shot next month as the champ will be squaring off against the #1 contender in the coming weeks.  Dunbar has wonderful boxing and some strong Muay Thai skills, and while he’s a decent wrestler, his bred and butter is his brown belt in BJJ that he’s used to get 4 submission wins to date.

His opponent, Carter, will be no easy task.  With an impressive striking game focused on his Muay Thai attack, he’s riding a 2-fight win streak and has won 6 of his 6 fights in Bellicose.  He may not have an answer for Dunbar’s brown belt, but if this fight stays standing then he’ll be in good shape to score a win either by KO with some countering or possibly looking to outscore his opponent from range.

Sonny - Man oh man. I have to admit I have been drooling at this matchup for weeks. Davante Dunbar is my dude! He is looking to bounce right back after a devastating title loss to the great Rak Boonliang in late April. What is not talked about often enough though is what an outstanding performance Dunbar put on that night! He actually had the champ rocked early in the fight before Rak was able to bounce back to save his belt. Dunbar is no slouch. Across from him and doing weird things with his nipples is the one and only James Carter. James comes out of the no bullshit Runt camp so you know he goes into every fight absolutely terrified to lose because job security is not strong over there.

I think the applicable differences in this fight are Carter’s prominent Muay Thai skills as well as his wrestling advantage. Combined with his granite chin this should allow him to keep the fight where he wants to work. Another fight I really don’t want to pick but since I have to pull the trigger... James Carter via Decision.

 Main Event

Light Heavyweight Title Fight

(C) Hole Reemer (8-1)  vs  (1) Kurki Potku (6-0)

Outlaw - And finally, our main event!  With the light heavyweight title on the line, this fight is worth the main event billing and one I can’t wait to watch.  Reemer has dominated the division having won 8 fights in a row and mowing down everyone who’s stood in front of him since joining Bellicose.  His skill set is well balanced, and his wrestling is what stands out in his skill set, but he’s got some sneaky good skills that opponents do not expect.  Up next will be a tough opponent in Potku who hasn’t lost a fight in his professional career.

Potku is on an impressive run himself.  He’s undefeated and like the champ, hasn’t lost a fight yet not only in Bellicose, but in his career.  He’s displayed some amazing power as he’s had 4 KO finishes and a TKO finish to date leaving only one fight to the judges.  His striking skills are remarkable, and his wrestling is sensational and stacks up very well with Reemer.  Potku may be the greatest threat to Reemer’s throne to date and we will have an epic fight on our hands that I can’t wait to tune into.

Sonny - M-M-M-Main Event Time! Our own legendary Nazi beater Hole Reemer takes on a legend in the making Kurki Potku! Outlaw you are right about Potku - he is on an absolute tear as he has built a perfect 6-0 but what I love to see is the 5 KOs included. Reemer is so deceivingly good though it hurts. He puts together some amazing gameplans to focus on his strengths while hiding his weaknesses. Friday night should be no different as Reemer will no doubt look for a takedown within the first minute making his intentions clear. What I feel is an interesting aspect of this fight is Potku does occasionally take the fight to the ground but mainly uses that as a tool to break clinch and when he is on the ground he is purely a wet blanket but on top and keeps his guard closed on the bottom. This would play right into Reemer’s gameplan as he loves to, well, reem people from dominant position. I’m looking for this to go to the distance. At the end of 25 minutes I’m picking it will be... and STILL light heavyweight champion. - Hole Reemer!

Shingen Takeda: Dunbar, my friend, are you up for a rematch? Can't think of a better fight to determine the next contender for the 155 belt. I had a rough fights, but now my head is in the right place and I feel like I am ready to challenge for the title once again.

Dunbar vs Takeda 2, make it happen boss.

I'll hope to hear from Dunbar before I book another match.  He earned a shot at a rematch with the champ with his victory, but this rematch would also be an excellent fight to solidify that top contender spot as well.  So if he accepts, I'll book the fight.

He has only one win after his title loss, doesn't seem quite enough, no?

Also the champ is scheduled to fight end of month.

Makes no sense to wait, better book the №1 contender fight for the same card.

But of course your call.

Ikemba Okoye (2-2)  vs  Chiharu Shiba (5-5)

Sonny - Don’t let the fact that these two fighters are at the bottom of the card for you. They are both closet killers who’s record just does not yet reflect that. Yet.

Okoye has a two-part offense. Either he will blast you in the face with his fists or he will take you down when you least expect it and implement his black belt. He will carry the edge in boxing tonight but not in the wrestling department so maybe we will see a one-track approach for the KO.

Shiba on the other hand is a clinch specialist and he carries the advantage in MT and wrestling so that is where he will most likely look to take the fight. There he is all elbows baby and likes to slice and dice! The problem is that Okoye has a much higher take down success rate from the clinch so will Shiba dare go there? I do not see a choice for him. This may play out bad for Shiba and Okoye grabs the sub first round.

Outlaw Interesting match here, we have two veteran managers with young fighters looking to break away from the norm.  Both have .500 records and both are capable but haven’t yet put it all together.  Okoye is the boxer/BJJ guy as you’ve pointed out while Shiba is the MT/Wrestler who looks to be built like a clinch fighter but really has only shown off his deadly elbows in the clinch.   I find this match so interesting as both guys seem to really focus on two disciplines each, but they chose opposite disciplines to build their skill set around.  Boxing and Jiu Jitsu vs Muay Thai and Wrestling.  Shiba could use his clinch game to dominate, but at the same time Okoye can use his BJJ to pull guard if the fight goes to clinch.  Okoye also as the boxing if he keeps this from range, but that allows Shiba to use his kicks to extend his range.  This fight really could go either way, so I’m glad you’re confident in your pick, Sonny.

Sonny Okoye via sub round 1.

Outlaw I’ll tell you after the fight.

Aleksi Saari (4-4-1)  vs  Tom Cullen (3-5)

Sonny - At first glance you would think both of these fighters would have better records than they do. But let’s be honest, they both have physical holes in their game. Saari tends to show his chin when he wades in for strikes and has been knocked out multiple times while Tom Cullen has been exposed multiple times on the ground by being tapped out. Seeing as this fight should be decided on the feet I’d give the distinct advantage to Cullen due to his KO power and Sarai’s questionable chin.

Outlaw You mentioned the poor chin vs the weak ground game.  In looking at this fight, what jumps out to me is that both guys are good strikers.  I mean, Saari is an exceptional striker on the offensive side of things and his chin has been his biggest weakness to date.  On the other side, Cullen has been effective when standing but gets into trouble quickly on the ground.  This fight will not go to the ground, so Cullen won’t have to worry about that weakness in this one.  So now the question will remain, will Cullen be able to get to Saari’s chin, or will Saari use his overpowering offensive striking attack to get the better of Cullen?  Being as Cullen has also shown to have a weakness to the big shot in chin, I’d put my money on Saari getting the KO in this fight over Saari.

Sonny - Cullen KO round 1

Outlaw Saari TKO round 2

Cam Cartwright (3-3)  vs  Walter Mason (3-3)

Sonny - Both of these fighters have relatively well-developed stand-up skills but we will skip right to the groundwork because that is where the fight will most likely take place. Cart is more of a jujitsu specialist, he loves to finesse the ground game to gain advantage (from top or bottom) to submit his opponents. Mason is more of a pure wrestler who is still working on his Jitsu and will enter the fight with a purple belt versus the brown belt of Cartwright. Since I love to speculate, I see Mason going for the quick tape down then trying to advance quickly out of Cartwright’s guard. If he does not get out quick, he may be in trouble as Mason does show a sub on his record. I see Mason is the slight dog in this fight, but I think he will take away the decision victory after a safe 15.

Outlaw -  I was noticing the same thing, Sonny.  Both of these guys are very well rounded, but both seem to stick with the ground game despite their ability to strike.  Maybe they are just built defensively as strikers, who knows?   It looks like Cam should have the edge in this fight rather it happens from range or on the ground.  He’s a slightly better striker than Mason is, and though he is not quite the wrestler Mason is, it’s damned close.  And when it comes to BJJ, well, that’s Cartwright’s bread and butter.  When you look at fight history, Mason has lost 2 in a row and even though wrestling is his superior skill, he's been tapped out once as well.  His wrestling has done him wonders for his GnP where he’s actually forced two fights to submit and quit the fight due to his ruthless GnP, so that will be the main focus Cartwright needs to be concerned with.  Personally, if I were Cam, I would try to keep the fight standing for the most part.  Stay at range, bob and weave, use that boxing and pick apart Mason.  Then, once he’s worn Mason down a bit, take the fight to the ground.  I’d also look to stay on top and negate Mason’s grappling here.  A wrestler tends to be less effective off his back, even with a good submission game.  I just feel Cartwright has more ways to win this fight, but it’s definitely not a sure thing.

Sonny - Mason by Decision

Outlaw Cartwright by Decision

Syngin Colchester (5-6)  vs  Vitor Almeida (4-2)

Sonny - Colchester Comes in with a 5-6 record including 4 knockouts in both directions. Vitor comes in with a 4-2 record having been KO’d twice and holding three knockouts to his name. Colchester is a wrestling specialist who attempts a high number of takedowns and lands almost 50% of them. Vitor Almeida has the power to end the fight quickly on the feet and a decent takedown defense rate of 71% but will this be enough? I do believe Colchester will increase his takedowns this fight to an even higher degree to make sure he doesn’t get knocked out before he gets going. Almeida is such a robust standup artist though that I see him implementing his skills for early dominance.

Outlaw Colchester is a striker, or at least he’s built like one.  He’s got a great skill set with boxing and Muay Thai,  but it’s interesting that his strongest skill is his wrestling.  He doesn’t really use it effectively though and that may be one reason his record doesn’t reflect his skills.   In this fight, that wrestling should serve him well as it will be the single most crucial factor of this fight as to determine rather he gets this fight to the ground where he wants it or not.  His wrestling is his best chance as in this fight, his striking skills are just about even with Almeida, just coming up a bit shy in the Muay Thai department.  However, that advantage in wrestling will be the key to this fight.  Because if he can’t get the fight to the ground, I think Almeida will end this fight before the end of the 2nd round.

Sonny - Almeida (T)KO round 1

 Outlaw Almeida KO round 2

Antoine Milfort (5-3)  vs  Jake Roberts (3-0)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Antoine Milfort          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Jake Roberts

Sonny - Antoine has certainly been making time for the gym and it shows. He is a highly and talented boxer who comes into the fight with a 5-3 record - all 5 wins by KO. He likes his hands and they have carried him well so far.

Jake Roberts comes in an absolute sleeper pick with hiddens galore to muscle in to his three victories and zero losses. On paper he is the dog. In the fight I think he will surprise us as always. Jake has a clear path to victory tonight with his one advantage being BJJ and wrestling skills being close enough to consider takedowns being in his toolbelt. Should be a quick one either way and that is a beautiful thing!

Outlaw Antoine may love to throw down, but he’s lost 2 of his last 3 and is making his Bellicose debut in this fight.  We all know that Bellicose is a step up in competition for most of these young fighters and a lot of them have faltered under the pressure of the big lights.  He definitely has some KO power with his boxing, and with how even this fight is in the other areas of the fight, that might just be enough to get another KO win under his belt.  Obviously, Jake is an under the radar type of guy.  His manager has been around for a while and has done right by Roberts.  While nothing stands out on paper about his training, his 3-0 record does.  And the quick submission finish over Brocius forced the youngsters retirement.  He will be the underdog when you look at the whole package, but I can’t disagree with Sonny that he’s a sleeper that could really turn a few heads.

Sonny - Roberts by Submission round 2

Outlaw Milfort via TKO

Jerman Christ (4-1)  vs  Paul Hunt (3-0)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Jerman Christ          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Paul Hunt

Sonny - Jerman is a MT specialist who is working on developing his boxing skills early in his career. Rumor has it his chin may not be that solid but he answers these rumors with astounding KO power. If you end of the fight quickly it doesn’t matter if you have a glass chin or not.

Paul Hunt does have that granite chin, however. He fights out of the Ispa Murhapuro camp so you know there is no weakness in his training. Hunt has a sizable wrestling advantage which may negate the MT edge given to Christ. Hunt likes the clinch and so far Christ has shown tentativeness in that area. Hunt will smell blood and pounce if you let him and this is how I see this fight going.  Hunt’s clinch game is just too much for the Godly Christ.

OutlawFirst off, let me just say that both of these guys look like future stars!  Christ lost his last fight to the new champ, Potku.   So it’s hard to fault a guy for losing to the champ that won a controversial victory over the champ who had previously walked through the entire division.  His striking skills are not bad at all, and he’s definitely shown some hellacious KO power in those strikes with 4 KO’s under his belt.  But that KO will be hard to come by against a granite chin opponent like Hunt.

Hunt is not the Muay Thai striker that Christ is, but he’s close.  He also edges him out in Boxing as well as wrestling.  With his wrestling, the clinch could be an advantage over Christ as you pointed out, but even from range he will be a solid opponent.  He may need to watch out for the kicks of Christ, but Christ has not thrown a single kick in his career yet.  So maybe he’s just working the Muay Thai clinch angle there... which has not been his strength.   I definitely think that this will be an outstanding fight… KO power versus granite chin.  But we will get to find out if the power is enough to get to Hunts chin or not. I don’t see Hunt scoring a KO victory here, as I think he’ll be more technical and defensive to avoid the big shot capability of Christ, but hell, who knows?

Sonny - Hunt by TKO round 3

Outlaw Hunt via Decision

Samuel Sycek (5-4)  vs  Hjalmar Raak (2-1)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Samuel Sycek          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Hjalmar Raak

Sonny - I am going to steamroll through this fight because this is looking very one dimensional. Sycek has invested all his training in his wrestling so far in his career. This has brought him decent results with five wins and four losses on his records, most losses by submission.

Across from him though is the man-stud known as Spartacus. He is a much more broadly developed fighter and has turned in his wrestling to a level above Samuel’s even. This fight will be fist of fury on the ground the only question is who’s fists will be flying.

I think the kid Raak will show not have to change much in this fight to get the W. He is armed with a granite chin to carry him through any tough times on the bottom and he should eventually be able to get to side control and chip away for the win.

Outlaw I agree with your take on this fight.  Sycek is also not up to par on the mental side as his morale is lacking, and that alone is enough for me to not only pick against him, but to actually pull for him to lose.  If a manager doesn’t care enough about his fighter to keep him prepared and focused, then why should I put the effort into cheering them on?  Worst part is, the fans feel the same way.
I will quickly state that Raak is developing very well in his young career and I’m very much looking forward to seeing his continued success and growth in Bellicose.  He had an impressive debut win against Shiba and I assume he’ll pick up another tonight.

Junqueiro Santo Amaro (6-0)  vs  Arax Lightspeed (5-2)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Junqueiro Santo Amaro          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Arax Lightspeed

Sonny - Now we’re warming up, folks! I have to touch in one more time on the high level of competition we offer here at Bellicose. Both of these fighters are guaranteed future stars who are forced to face off early in what could be a career trajectory changer for either of these youngsters.

Amaro comes in with a perfect 6-0 record with 5 wins by KO. Granite chin and a top tier manager in Action Jackson have propelled this promising youngster into the spotlight.

Across the cage is Arax Lightspeed who has had a tough time moving his possessions around lately due to changing managers. Usually this is due to a shitty fighter but here it is not the case. Arax ended up on the porch of number one manager Bjorn and hasn’t looked back. His skill set on paper is even more impressive than Lima’s with a slight edge and boxing and wrestling but we all know paper does not decide a fight.

I like what I have seen from the Bjorn camp lately with the transition and I think he will ride every advantage Arax has in this fight to get the win tomorrow.

Outlaw Finally, a fight that I’m thrilled to see!  When booking this fight, Bjorn expressed his admiration for the talents of Santo Amaro and admitted that this would be a very difficult fight for Lightspeed.  I think this will be a difficult fight for both fighters because this is going to be an absolute war!  Both of these guys like to finish, and even though Lightspeed is now in camp Bjorn, that camp is also known to love to finish a fight.  People do not pay to see judges tell them who won, they like to see decisive victories with no doubt left to ponder.  I can tell you this much…  that’s what we’ll get in this one.  No matter who wins, this fight will be a finish victory for one of these guys.  Don’t listen to Sonny, he just wants the fight to last all 3 round so he has more to watch.  I’m telling you, this fight won’t go to the judges!   I know it’s KO power vs Granite chin, but I just don’t see Lightspeed playing the long game.

Pee Wee Sasaki (8-1)  vs  Mad Hatter (6-2)

Sonny - God I love it when the little men are known for their KO power! It’s such a special anomaly and we have two gifts entering the cage right here!

Sasaki has been on a tear lately and has become a huge fan favorite and may I say quite the slick dresser. He’s looking to defend his newly earned belt for the first time since defeating Hunt one month ago. Sasaki shows no holes in his game and loves to utilize his deadly KO power from the clinch or at range.

Next we get to take a look at the Bellicose’s favorite madman - Mad Hatter. Do not let him suck you down the rabbit hole with his stories of vivid fantasies of sharing tea parties with disappearing cats (or is it his real life?). That conversation is best left alone. What you can take a notice of however is the absolutely sensational MT game Hatter has put together.

Here’s my question about this fight: Hatter exclusively works from range but gives up a whopping 18 cm to the taller Sasaki. Will he finally forced to utilize the clinch? I don’t freakin know and I can’t wait to find out!

Outlaw I could have has said it better!  Usually, these fights are determined by decisions or submissions.  Grapplers tend to do well in this division but strikers tend to just slap each other around until the judges render a verdict.  Not in this case, not with these two men.  Both of these guys love to finish and both are looking to go down as the greatest KO artist of the weight class in Bellicose history.  Unfortunately, only one of them can get that KO today.  Sasaki does give up the reach advantage, and it’s not even close.  His build gives him that length and he will be able to use that to dance in and out of range and score points, but that’s not his style.  If he wants to get that KO, he’ll have to get in close and do some damage… and that’s exactly what Hatter wants to do.  He will get in close and look to abuse use with that stout power.  Maybe he takes it to the clinch, maybe he just bides his time and looks to do damage when within range.  He’s fighting an uphill battle against the champ, but he’s not afraid of the challenge and I can’t wait to see these two men throw down!  Even if it does resemble a twig fighting a midget!!

Sonny Says - I’m picking the champ Sasaki to retain the title in this one. Such a tough fight to call and those powerful hands both fighters possess makes it even tougher. I do know that eventually Hare will forgive me for picking against his fighter so... Sasaki round 2 TKO

Outlaw’s BountyAfter being torn on this one I will have to go with the champ also.  I almost always pick the champ because they’ve earned the right to be the champ and that’s not easy to do.  Hatter no doubt has a chance here to score a knockout, but he’ll have to prove it to me the way the champ did last month.  Sasaki via TKO.

Murska Mfer (8-1)  vs  Orestes Prometheus (5-2)

Sonny - Murska Mfer. The eternal legend of Bellicose SHW division. The KO power having submission machine. The 4 time champion. The 300 pound wet blanket... yeah I admit I’m a fan. He brings in a 8-1 record with his only loss being a KO to Arthur Douglas his last time out. That makes this a huge fight for Murska. As we all know a career can be defined by how you bounce back from your first loss. Will he still have the special sauce, or will his ego be blown after suffering his first defeat? We shall see...

Next up we’re looking at Orestes Prometheus who has put together an impressive 4 fight win streak on his way to this fight with the past champ. To achieve victory in this fight Prometheus is going to need to utilize all his tools and all his hidden skills to pull it off. He comes in with less standup skills (on paper) than Mfer BUT do not sleep on this man! After obsessively pouring over his previous fights I am convinced there is much more to Orestes Prometheus than his coaches let on. His chin is granite, his hands are deadly, and his teammates surrounding him are all in a great place with their management. These are the factors that can create a great upset!

Will Orestes stand up to the Mfing bully and take out the bigger man or will Murska Mfer show his resolve and bounce back from his first loss in dominant fashion? You know what? I have no fucking clue and I am not going to make a pick. This one is for pure enjoyment folks so sit back and enjoy the violence!

Outlaw – Well if you’re not going to pick then neither am I!  Honestly, I’m torn on this one anyways.  I’m a fan of Murska and want to see him make another run at that title.  At the same time, I’m alliance mates with the manager of Prometheus.  So I will be happy with whoever wins, honestly.  From a skill standpoint, Murska is the more dominate fighter.  He’s got a better stand up game, better ground game, more wins, better record and is a former champ.  Everything here screams to pick Murska to win this fight.  Everything except for camp Prometheus.  Those guys know they have a hidden gem in Orestes and they are about to show the world what he can do.  If he can take out the former champ and most dominate SHW fighter in Bellicose history, no longer with Prometheus be flying under the radar.  I have heard rumors that there is tension between Murska and his manager after the last loss.  Could this be a factor in this fight?  Could a loss in this one be the end of the duo?  Will Murska even continue fighting at Bellicose?  What if he wins the fight?  Will his confidence be back to an all-time high and looking for a chance at getting that belt back?   I’m with Sonny here… who fucking knows!  This fight is going to be epic and I’m going to stay awake tonight to watch it unfold life from Sidney.

Bellicose, I hope you enjoy the fight as much as I will and enjoy this card as much as Sonny and I plan to.  And with that, we’re out and we will see you guys tomorrow on the forums where the shit talking of dominance will continue after another night of brutality and ruthless aggression!

6-2-0

I honestly did not expect to dominate this guy the way I did. Stoked, absolutely stoked with this win and massive KO!

Santo Amaro is holding his hands too far apart here. Lightspeed throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Santo Amaro is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Arax Lightspeed!
A very excited looking Arax Lightspeed made sure he remembered to thank all the fans both in the arena and on the internet. He said all the coolest people spend all day on MMA websites, which got a big reaction.

Samuel Sycek (5-4)  vs  Hjalmar Raak (2-1)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Samuel Sycek          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Hjalmar Raak

Pee Wee is thrilled to have successfully defended his title for the first time. He says that the new fight gear provided by the Bellicose team gave him a real charge of energy.  He is also grateful for the kind words and confidence shown him by the fight prognosticators.

Pee Wee has great respect for his opponent. He feels that he has the ability to be a very, very good MMA fighter.  He would humbly like to offer just a bit of advice and is hopeful the Mad Hatter will not be offended.

Pee Wee suggests that the use of hallucinogens may not be the best of pre fight  preparations.  Please to remember, Speed Kills!  The lightning the Hatter thought he was seeing...was real.

Pee Wee is also very hopeful that his performance has impressed the new woman of his dreams.

Congrats Champ!

Bellicose management and more importantly the fans were amazed with Pee Week’s performance on Saturday.

And funny that you mention Pee Wee is looking to impress the ladies... apparently nothing drops the panties like a defending champion 👀

Just an update...  If I send a fight offer that is not fair.. like I did earlier today where I sent a 383k guy vs a 375k guy.. sometimes I get tunnel vision and go off of skill estimator/hype and recent record.  I do make mistakes at time.  I saw two fighters with 3 star skill estimator and needed a last second fill in.  So I booked it.  Come to find out (and I didn't check ID) that there was a significant ID gap there and it's a fight I'd never normally offer.

So please, don't hesitate to decline the fight and just point out that It wasn't fair.  Don't sit on fights and don't feel the need to accept a fight just because it's offered.  I'm not perfect, and no doubt I'll make more mistakes in the future.  But I do want to apologize for this offer and any others like it that I may have sent out in the past.  I will never hold it against you for declining a fight offer with a valid reason.  And an unfair fight is the most valid reason of all!  Just please be patient with me and point these things out so that I can keep your fighters fighting fair competition and keep our managers happy.  I swear I do not send out horrible fight offers like this on purpose.

For the record, the manager of this particular offer declined it and said why which allowed me to correct the mistake.  I blame it on my concussion.  There was no harm  done and we have resolved it.  That's the way it should work.  Nobody complained nobody got upset and we are all good.  So please, I want you all to know that I would never do this on purpose to anyone and you are always welcome to decline an unfair offer.  You can decline any fight offer you want just let me know why so I can update my notes.  If your guy wants more time to train, or you don't think you can win the fight, or whatever the reason may be.  Just let me know and we'll fix it and move on.

Truth be told, Pee Wee has become totally infatuated with one particular lady.  Another promising fighter of Team Django, Cheyenne Little Dove.  Poor Pee Wee is smitten and trying his best to attract her attention.

I mentioned Pee Wee to her see if perhaps she was aware of what a great young man he was. She pondered  that for a moment and replied, "Well I don't know him very well, I wonder if Pee Wee also applies to all of his Physicals."

I decided to extricate myself from that situation quickly.

Age sixteen: with a mere 5 days left before my second fight here in this organization my manager has graciously given me that time off of training after 4 straight weeks of rigorous training. He believes in my growth during that time that to him 5 days is nothing.

I do not intend to let him down so here is hoping I become 2-0 in this organization.

Bellicose is coming out of a huge weekend of fights and here and the 3 biggest takeaways (in my best Ron Burgandy voice):

First, Kuri Potku upset the champ Hole Reemer for the LHW Title. Nobody saw this coming except Potku’s camp and maybe outside that his grandmother. His escapes were too much for Reemer to hold him down and Potku did the work necessary on the feet to become...

Next up we have the resigning of Murska Mfer! It appeared he may tentatively take a break for a while after his last fight but his manager came back fully enthused about this Bellicose legend and former champ after such a great showing in the cage his last time out. Good stuff!

Finally we have Pee Wee Sasaki earning his first title defense in the Bantamweight Division! The ref had seen enough of the champ’s abuse of the exceptionally high on psychedelics Mad Hatter and in less than 4 minutes into the fight the possibly deadliest P4P fighter in the org was...

I hope you guys enjoyed sometime a little different for the recap this week. We’re always here to hear you feedback so please don’t hold back.

Overall, it was a hell of a weekend and the fans voiced their appreciation fervently. Congratulations Bellicose!

Prelims

Ben Hornby  (1-6)  vs  Jackson Davis (2-1)

Hornby has 5 strait losses.  Not much else I can say.  He needs to turn things around in a big way.  Davis is 2-1 and coming off his Bellicose debut with a decision win over Tomsett.  He’s looking to ride the momentum to another win and keep trending in the opposite direction of his opposition.

Outlaw’s Pick – Davis via TKO.

Ryan Wizard (6-3)  vs  Bob Killer (2-4)

Wizard makes his Bellicose debut tonight.  He went 2-1 in the QFC and then 2-1 in EFC and then 2-1 in UAC.  The pattern would predict he’ll go 2-1 in his first 3 fights at Bellicose.  All 6 of his wins are via submission, and he doesn’t try to hide his gameplan.  He’s a wizard on the ground and does it with minimal training in that area.  Quite impressive, honestly.  His opponent is Bob Killer.  I’m not going to waste my breath on a guy who’s got zero morale and dirty clothes.

Outlaw’s Pick – Wizard via submission.

Liam Mcgregor (4-4)  vs  Bohnomme SeptHueres (5-1)

Liam has low morale and shit clothing.  End of my take.  SeptHeures has  a name that gives me nightmares trying to spell, but he’s 5-1 coming off a win in his Bellicose debut.  He’s a clinch fighter through and through and it’s working for him.  If he gets Mcgregor in the clinch, he’ll turn Mcgregor into a legit Irish Car Bomb.

Outlaw’s Pick – Septhueres wins via TKO.

Petr Vrabec (5-6)  vs  Joao Perez (2-2)

Vrabec is ready to rock and coming into this fight off a two-fight win streak.  He’s 3-5 in Bellicose history and looking to add another win to get him closer to that .500 mark that’s eluded him his entire Bellicose career.  His opponent is Perez who is 2-2 now but wearing shit-stained clothing and has less morale than someone who just failed at their third suicide attempt.  Moving on.

Outlaw’s Pick - Vrabec wins via Submission.

Fardoche Fermier (3-0)  vs  Dechlan Tomsett (1-2)

Fermier is an up and coming star grappler who’s done quite well for himself.  He got into the MMA game later in life and is one of our older fighters though he only has 3 fights under his belt.  He’s a perfect 3-0 coming off an impressive submission win in his Bellicose debut.  The competition will keep getting more difficult as he looks to improve to 4-0 over his opponent Tomsett.  Tomsett is coming off a tough decision loss to Davis in his last bout, but has the skills to at least make this a good fight.  He’s the better striker, but keeping the fight standing will be his most difficult task of the night.

Outlaw’s Pick – Fermier via Submission.

Van Driesen (5-3)  vs  Charles Sobhraj (7-9)

Rounding out our prelims is Driesen vs Sobhraj.  Driesen is 5-3 and a very good grappler who’s started developing a bit of a standing game to compliment his arsenal.  He’s been back and forth on wins of late which would lend our expectations to this being a win to keep that pattern alive.  But this is a fresh start in Bellicose as he makes his debut and puts his body on the line to face off against Charles Sobhraj.  Sobhraj is very evenly matched with Driesen though he’s older and more experienced.  They are both proficient strikers but rely on the ground game to get the job done.  Driesen has a bit of an edge on the ground as his wrestling is pretty even with Sobhraj, but his brown belt overshadows the purple belt of his opponent.

Outlaw’s Pick – Driesen wins via Decision.

Main Card

Temujin Atkiray (7-4)  vs  Bethania Valverde (4-4)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Temujin Atkiray          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Bethania Valverde

Atkiray has had a bit of a rocky road of late.  He started his career off winning 6 of his first 7 fights but has since lost 3 of his last 4.  He was on a 6 fight streak until losing a title fight against Daverio, since retired, bounced back againt Girith, then lost his second title attempt against current champ Pendragon.  He attempted to bounce back against Natalia Pisswater at Bellicose 95 but fell short giving her the path to a title shot of her own.  That fight was close though, but who would blame Atkiray for rolling around on the ground with that set of jugs?  Surely, looking for a reverse camel clutch….  But that is in the past, now he faces off against Bethania Valverde who will not look to be on the ground with Atkiray.  He will have to use his striking defense in this one, but if he can get her on the ground, he should have his way with this unloving lady.

Valverde is sitting at 4-4 and coming off a loss In her Bellicose debut against the Mad Hatter.  The man had the nerve to knock her out!  She’ll be looking for revenge I this one and also looking to be the second woman in as many months to defeat Atkiray.  This fight should be an interesting bout as she doesn’t have to worry about her chin being tested and will have the advantage from range and clinch, so as long as she can avoid the ground she should be able to come out victorious rather by points and a decision or getting to Atkiray’s chin and an early stoppage.  If she ends up on the ground, however, Atkiray will likely overpower her or use some unorthodox tactics to get her to tap out.

Outlaw’s Pick – Atkiray via decision

Sonny Barella (3-5)  vs  Kotaro Asakura (6-1)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Sonny Barella         VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Kotaro Asakura

Barella really isn’t a main card caliper of fighter, but his opponent Asakura is.  So he finds himself with a rare opportunity to shine under the bright lights.  Unfortunately, his morale is lacking and he doesn’t seem to want to fight on the big stage after all.  He’ll look to use his brown belt to get a win here, but with lacking morale, most likely all he’ll accomplish is making a fool of himself in front of the entire arena.

Kotaro Asakura is 6-1 and coming off a FotN victory over Barnes in his Bellicose debut.  He’s a strong grappler with a focus on Muay Thai, but not a guy who wants to fight on the ground at all.  This fight is such a perfect upset opportunity for Barella with his huge BJJ advantage, but with his lack of morale he will have a hard time getting the upper hand in this fight.  I expect to see Asakura keep his distance and pick apart and Barella while looking for that nasty counter KO punch off of a failed takedown attempt.

Outlaw’s Pick – Asakura via TKO

Co-Main Event

Reinaldo Gracie (6-2)  vs  Clin Cartwright (4-1)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Reinaldo Gracie          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Clin Cartwright

Our co-main event has former top contender Reinaldo Gracie coming off that title fight loss at Bellicose 95 facing off against Cartwright who recently lost his top contender fight against Boris Bors.  Now, these two look at their last opponents squaring off for the 145 belt while they look to take their aggravation out on each other.

With Cartwright having lost his last fight, but it being his only loss in Bellicose, he’s still right there on the cusp of working himself into another top contender shot.  He’s an intelligent fighter who’s very versatile and while most of his wins have come from submission, he’s got remarkable boxing and superb Muay Thai skills to compliment his excellent grappling skills and brown belt.  But when you look at a fight against a Gracie, you know that fight will not be fought from range.

Gracie is a superb boxer but he’s more focused on the ground game as he holds a slight wrestling advantage over Cartwright while also holds a black belt in BJJ.  He’s the superior grappler here and it’s only a matter of time before this fight ends up on the ground.  Clin may want to stay at range and score some points and try to soften up his opponent and wear him out a bit before it goes to the ground, but with neither of these fighters having takedown defense, it’s simply a matter of time before it happens.  Once on the ground, it should be a hell of a fight.  Gracie will have the advantage of being able to control and the superior submission training, but Cartwright is well trained and will make it difficult for him to be submitted.  If this fight isn’t finished, and Clin can score enough points on the feet before it goes to the ground, he could pull off the upset decision win here.  But, honestly, anything could happen.  One of those big shots could land giving him a KO, or he may catch Gracie being over confident and submit him instead?  I mean, he’s a brown belt and no slouch on the ground himself.

Outlaw’s Pick – Gracie wins via Submission

Main Event

***135 Title Fight***

(C) Lewis “Excalibur” Pendragon (7-3)  vs  (#1) Boris Bors (6-1)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Lewis Pendragon          VS          Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Boris Bors

In our main event, the champ will put his belt on the line against top contender Boris Bors.  Pendragon has exceeded expectations and shocked the world when he defeated Atkiray for the belt back at Bellicose 85.  He then went on to defeat Gracie at Bellicose 95.  Both times, he was the underdog, and the champ found a way to win and prove the doubters wrong.  Coming into this fight, many will say the same thing.  Bors is the favorite to win this fight, but how many times have we heard that before?  How long until we all buy in to the champion Pendragon’s success in the cage?  He’s now won 5 strait fights against tough competition, and both won and defended his belt.  He’s going to punch you in the face and he's going to punch you really hard.  He doesn’t hide what he does, and he does it well.  Even fighters who know that it’s coming are still put to the test against this man.

Bors, on the other hand, was dominating the 135 division until he lost his belt to Sean Dash.  After that quick 20 second KO loss, he and his manager parted ways leaving Bors to find a new team.  He was quickly signed by Django Waits and moved up to the 145 division to compete where he defeated then undefeated Clin Cartwright by decision showing that he’s still got what it takes.  Being the former champion he already had a huge following and all he needed was to beat a top contender to establish himself in the 145.  He did so, and here he is as the top contender himself and a chance to capture the belt again, only this time in a new division.   He’s more of a grappler than a striker compared to the champ, but after the champ dispatched of the superior grappler Gracie, you know he knows how to handle a grappler.  So the edge on the ground may not be enough to defeat Pendragon.  He has the skills to stand and bang with the champ too, and where he may have a significant advantage is the clinch between his Muay Thai and Wrestling.  If I were putting money on this fight, that’s where I would guess a large portion of this fight would take place.  Pendragon is almost evenly trained in this area with Waits as far as a primary training point of view, but this would allow Bors to be aggressive and still look for a takedown from the clinch to get the fight on the ground.  I expect him to clinch up, be aggressive, and work in a few pull guards.  If he can do this, we may very well have a new champion on our hands.  But hell, how can you bet against the champ when all he does is defeat everyone, we expect to beat him?  I can’t break the cycle and won’t be the jinx.  I’ll keep doing what I’ve done and see if he can prove me wrong again.

Outlaw’s Pick – Bors via TKO
