Jeanie: "Welcome to this special press conference ahead of back-to-back SENSEI FC events, here in the wonderful Tokyo. It is my honor to introduce

Juan Pantalones

and his two fighters, Jerry Spike and Penny Wise."

Juan: "Thank you Jeanie for the wonderful introduction, and thank you to all the journalists who are here today. Promoting a fight is very important, and since our opponents have no interest in helping out, it seems I will have to do it all myself. This press conference is to promote the two upcoming fights of my assisted fighters. Jerry will fight April 1st at SENSEI FC Extra 3, against Shaun Wallace, a good fighter but a lousy individual. Penny, instead, will aim to win his first professional bout against the very dangerous Sam Bass at SENSEI FC 18, April 2nd.

I have great trust in my fighters and I am sure they will get the win or will die trying, and there is nothing more I can demand from them, so I am eager to watch the show they will put up in the cage. Now, we are happy to take some questions from you. Who wants to go first?"

Jack: "Hi, Jack Chung here, I write for the online blog Will Smith Fight Club. Question for Jerry: your opponent seems to have come out pretty aggressively against you on social media, engaging in a fiery Buzz exchange with another fighter as well. What is your reaction to this, and how do you think this will affect your fight?"

Jerry: "I could not care less what he says, his online behavior has made clear to everyone he is just an immature child with pent-up anger. He is a very capable fighter, and I will have to be at my very best on Friday to beat him, but once the fight is over I will be able to go back home, kiss my wife and kids and look at myself in the mirror with pride. The most he will be able to do is go back to his basement and spend the night with his favorite sock. Now don't get me wrong, I am not underestimating him in the slightest, I know perfectly well how good he is, but I would prefer immensely to fight against someone I have respect for, let's put it that way.

And besides, I have never seen a worse attempt at trash talking than that. Like, come on dude, you should take some courses on how to do it well, you are quite pathetic at this point..."

Jack: "A quick follow-up: have you already planned who you would like to fight next?"

Jerry: "No, I am solely focused on Shaun right now. Once the fight is over, I will sit down with Juan and Roman and we will decide what's next in store for me."

Jack: "Thank you."

Willie: "Hello, I am Willie Willie, from MMA Japan. I have a question for Penny. Unlike Jerry, you seem to be much more reserved, and you have not spoken prior to your fight. Are you worried about the opposition or is it just how you operate every camp?"

Penny: "To be honest, I love fighting, I love learning new techniques and I love to work in order to become a better fighter. I do not enjoy talking trash, I leave it to the other fighters. I focus on giving my all every time I am in the octagon, and that's it. This time it is no exception, Sam Bass is a tough, tough opponent, and I simply have no time or energy to talk smack or fire him up, I am too focused on myself and honing my craft."

Willie: "Thank you Penny. I also have a question for Juan: both of your fighters' next opponents are very capable Muay Thai fighters, and many pundits agree that your fighters, being proficient boxers, will be at a significant disadvantage, and suggest you might have made a mistake in accepting fights that create such a stylistic matchup, and that perhaps you should have waited for better opportunities. What is your response?"

Juan: "I could care less what the matchups look like on paper, the octagon is not theory, it is real, and everything can happen inside it. Also, I would never refuse a fight for any of my boys, it is just not who I am and who we are. I want any organizer to look to me as a dependable manager who will never ruin or sabotage a card just because I want to stat-paddle and look good, and I want all of my fighters, no matter how good or not they are, to be f***ng warriors, who will lay their life in the octagon, no matter how insurmountable the odds might look like.

Other people might think this is silly, but I will stand by my philosophy any day of the week and twice on Sundays, and that's it."

Willie: "Thank you, this is all from me."

Juan: "Any other questions?"

Jeanie: "If there are no other questions, I want to thank all of you for your attention and invite you all to attend our upcoming SENSEI FC events. Thank you again and have a good night."

Slo Moegan: Ladies and gentlemen give it up for you winner by submission in the very first round Ajin Heceda!

Ajin Heceda: Thank you Slo.

Slo Moegan: You have some of the best wrestling, so why pull guard? You didn't even try for a double leg or anything. Was that part of the game plan coming in? And walk us through the fight.

Ajin Heceda: With the big difference in wrestling I could have got a regular takedown pretty easily but yes it was a last minute game plan change. I got my brown belt a couple days ago and wanted to show off my bjj. Ok at the beginning of the fight I move out of range of leg kicks and then a punch. I clinched with him and then failed to pull guard and tried again and successfully pulled guard. Once there failed a couple submissions and then reversed to be on top, passed his guard to half guard, and then passed his half guard to end up in side control. I quickly saw the opening for the kimura. He didn't tap and I cranked it and the fight was over.

Slo Moegan: What is next for you?

Ajin Heceda: My next fight will be at 145. Should be against someone in the top of the division but the guys around me already have a fight scheduled and heard Pops is on vacation. I'm ready to fight next week if need be. So we will see what Sensei FC decides to do and find me for 145.

Slo Moegan: You have only had 2 fights so far winning them both and a fight in two different divisions and already are sitting among the top in both divisions. What do you think has attributed to your quick rise at such a young age.

Ajin Heceda: Well I am tied with a few other for most submissions in Sensei FC and given my young age I think has attributed to it as well. I'm not even an adult yet and I already have 2 professional fights and wins.

Slo Moegan: Give it up one more time for Ajin Heceda!

Shane Victorino: Welcome to the Flyin Hawaiian show. I have a special guest for you a young 17 year old that has grown up here in Hawaii and is making a splash fighting over in Japan. I'm talking about Ajin Heceda.

Ajin Heceda: Thank you for having me on your show Shane.

Shane Victorino: Tell us a bit about your road so far.

Ajin Heceda: So I had wrestled ever since I was in grade school and had won many titles. Also won state my freshmen, sophomore and junior years in high school. I come from a long line of fighters and when I was 16 I decided to show my family that you can still be a fighter without striking only. So I found Old School Training and given my wrestling credentials and size they introduced me to James Howlett to kind of take me under his wing. He's this really amazing bjj guy and he really knows his stuff and I have been growing in leaps and bounds in that area since meeting him and also became a double gold Jr Olympiad. I was able to gain a dominant position in my first fight at 145 against a long time bjj practitioner to be able to get the submission win and then I had a fight at 155 against a well rounded guy who trained his bjj up extensively for our fight and I pulled guard, got the top position, took side control and got the submission. So now I'm 2-0 in MMA and 1-0 in both 145 and 155.

Shane Victorino: Wow. Definitely an impressive long road. So you have your third MMA fight and second 145 fight scheduled is that right?

Ajin Heceda: Yeah I do I was hoping for a bit of a quicker turnaround as I feel great after my last fight but it's far off in the distance. It's against 26 year old 2-1 David Cummings who has been a long time grappling specialist.

Shane Victorino: You are 17 going against a 26 year old. Do you feel a bit outmatched here? That's a lot of ground to make for in a lot of areas.

Ajin Heceda: I'm not sure. Definitely it's not ideal and he's a top notch grappler and that puts the fight in his area of specialty. So we will see. I'll definitely not be giving up top position this time around like in my last fight.

Shane Victorino: In terms of bjj, who do you think is better?

Ajin Heceda: Cummings for sure. He has been doing this a lot longer than me and brown belts and there is levels to this game. Given the right position I do think my defense is good enough to counter his submission ability and also with the right position I think I could get past his defensive ability and get the submission. So I don't think I'm incapable of winning but it will require a dominant position.

Shane Victorino: What is next for you?

Ajin Heceda: Well after this fight I'll be fighting 155 for the next one. So if I win I would be expecting a contender fight even though it will be a 155 fight. If I lose then I'd still be at the top of both divisions and be looking for a top 5 fight.

Shane Victorino: Well that's all we have time for. Wish you luck.

Main event

                 Frederick White vs Ichiro Sato

Round 1 - The night started off big for Frederick White. White was in complete control in the entire match in a display of dominance. Taking an early lead with strikes to the head and power shots to the body, White was able to use his superior clinchwork skills to pin Sato against the cage. Despite his best efforts, White’s head was split open by a brutal Sato knee. With the fight in danger, White sought to remain on the outside and landed clean, accurate, and powerful shots. Despite the Londoner’s best efforts at controlling the pace and making contact, Sato was unable to keep up. In a display of brutal dominance, White landed a jab that snapped Sato’s head back and followed up with a vicious overhand right that sent Sato reeling. After another powerful cross, the referee was forced to dive in to prevent further damage.

Undercard

Lazor Kwiatkowski vs Einku Benyam

Round 1 – It was a completely one-sided performance that was more suited to the front door of a nightclub rather than that of the octagon. Right from the sound of the bell, Kwiatkowski sought to take the fight to the ground to take advantage of Benyam’s lack of experience in grappling. His first attempt failed, but his second attempt was a beautiful shoot takedown that made the ring rumble. Benyam’s fate was sealed when Kwiatkowski managed to work his way on top of him. At the two minute mark, Kwiatkowski was able to land a flurry of blows onto Benyam until it was lights out.

Tomiji Fukusawa vs Judah Nagkta

Round 1 – One of the greatest comebacks ever seen in the history of Sensei. Fukusawa took a huge lead with a big right hand that had Nagkta reeling onto the floor. Nagkta was able to shake it away but was unable to avoid a two punch combo that sent him crashing to the canvas once more. With blood pouring down his face, Nagkta threw a left hook that rocked Fukusawa, which he followed up with a beautiful right cross that sent Fukusawa to the ground. Forced to capitalize on a losing fight, Nagkta dove on top of Fukusawa and forced him into an Americana, which Fukusawa promptly tapped out of.

Goro Majima vs Mario Quintero

Round 1 – Majima started off the night throwing heavy punches to the head. Fighting on the outside, Majima was able to control the distance and keep Quintero from trying to take the fight to the ground early on. However, despite being unable to land any significant blows, at two minutes into the round, Quintero was able to drop Majima onto the canvas with a beautiful shoot into half guard. Majima’s inexperience on the ground showed and after quick manuevering, Majima was forced into an Americana and was forced to tap out.

Peter Popara vs Ryoko Imaeda

Round 1 – Imaeda started the fight aggressively in a bid to control it, but Popara proved to be too much of a match with a huge right hand. With one minute into the round, Imaeda’s efforts at maintaining the pace winded him and had him gasping for air. Coming from the outside, Popara quickly dropped Imaeda with a right hook onto the side of the head. Despite Imaeda quickly clambering to his feet, Popara swiftly sent him tumbling back to the ground after a second follow up and knocking him out cold.

Stian Lygre vs Maki Damchaigym

Round 1 – It was a fight that was more of a wrestling match than anything else. Despite Damchaigym’s attempts at keeping the fight on his feet to avoid having to display the lack of his skills in Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Lygre was able to successfully take Damchigym to the ground where Lygre’s abilities were on full display. A guillotine in the second round was what ultimately ended the night for Damchaigyum.

Robert Kelly vs Taigen Gomi

Round 1 – Fought primarily on the ground, the significant action began when Kelly shot in and caught Gomi with a beautiful double leg takedown. Kelly was able to land clean shots from his position and control the pace. Three minutes into the round, the two fighters remained in a battle for control with Kelly primarily working on Gomi through shots from the top position. Despite Gomi’s best attempts, it was a display of complete dominance from Kelly, having completely controlled the fight from top position and landing beautiful ground n pound shots.

Round 2 – Kelly’s strategy remained the same. After a few quick strikes from the outside, Kelly dove into a beautiful takedown. However, instead of dominance through ground n pound, Kelly attempted to end the fight through submission. Gomi attempted to fight back and squirm out of position, but after Kelly worked his way into a kimura, Gomi tapped out in a scream of pain.

Frank Castle vs Thierry Mathieu

Round 1 – Frank Castle was the clear and obvious winner of the first round of this fight, but it could hardly be called that at all. The wrestler from down under was quick to take down Mathieu. However, it quickly became a battle of wills as the wrestler met his match in a skilled Brazilian Jiu Jitsu artist. The action remained relatively calm for the duration of the round, but Castle managed to land a huge elbow that sent Mathieu’s head snapping back onto the canvas.

Round 2 – Round 2 began just the way Round 1 started, with Castle scoring a takedown and trying to control the fight by out-wrestling Mathieu. The referee was having none of it, but just as soon as he stood them up, Castle managed to go into a single leg take down once again which Mathieu promptly slipped out of. The action picked up and Mathieu managed to land a big elbow on Mathieu’s face, splitting it open with a cut. Using superior Muay Thai skills, he managed to fight on his feet with Castle, utilizing excellent clinchwork and body shots. Round clearly won by Mathieu.

Round 3 – Castle sunk his hooks in early and never let go with a quick take down. Rather than risk losing the fight standing up, he managed to out-wrestle Mathieu on the ground by maintaining control. While the crowd absolutely hated it, it proved to be the best strategy as Mathieu was unable to improve his position nor land any shots while on the ground. After five minutes of wrestling, Castle was able to walk away with a dominating final performance.

Paker Nico vs Joao Oliveira

Round 1 – The Brazilian, Joao Oliveira, quickly went back to his roots with a swift takedown into guard. It was a swift attempt at winning the fight through submission, but he was his own worst enemy. His initial attempts were sloppy, but after numerous tries, Oliveira managed to pivot on Nico into a beautiful armbar that had the New Yorker tap out.

Jon Bondarenko vs Jay Wall

Round 1 – An incredibly close fight that had the edge to Wall, it was primarily fought around the outside with heavy punches and kicks. Mid-way through the round, the fighters got close through the use of excellent clinchwork with Wall leading the action. Multiple body hooks were landed by both fighters in exchanges that had the crowd screaming for more. Towards the end, Wall attempted to go for a takedown but Bondarenko was having none of it.

Round 2 – Wall’s strategy was altered from the beginning with an attempt to fight from the outside. However, Bodarenko was having none of it as he closed in and took it to the ground. Wall managed to swiftly escape two attempts before he wised up and fought in close. He was able to land swift body shots and kicks in a close exchange with Bodarenko. Despite Wall’s best efforts, Bodarenko was able to completely dominate the round.

Round 3 – Wall, alert that he was going to lose the fight if he didn’t wise up, quickly closed the distance from the get go and fought from the clinch. Bodarenko was in the same way, taking down Wall and trying to keep the fight onto the ground. The crowd was loving the action and Bodarenko knew that he had to keep the fight there if we wanted to win. Despite a late referee standup and surge from Wall, Bodarenko managed to keep his wits about him to secure victory.

Done by Joe.

Cheers!
