Artemis Entreri

Savage Rising Star, Vol. 1

"The Assassin" has looked great in his last two bouts, finishing both of his opponents in the first round.  This is nothing new to Entreri, but the money is better than what he's used to.  In the past 4 years, he's unofficially KO'd 17 opponents, 3 in the same night, and all quick enough to escape the boys in blue who showed up to sort out the mess.  But with that behind him, he's focused on the next man up.
His next opponent will not be an easy fight.  This man is trained and managed by a great team and to underestimate him would be dangerous, to say the least.  While Artemis has a mean streak, he must keep his composure and not allow himself to be rattled in the cage.  His opponent, Thuta, has appeared in two title fights to date, and while going 0-1-1 in those fights, it takes a hell of a fighter to be in the position to earn that shot.  And on a 3 fight win streak, Thuta is definitely looking for another one.
I spoke to Artemis about this fight and he had the following to say...

Artemis "Man, this is going to be a brawl!  Did you see that dude's KO over Vitalk?  Sick ass spinning backfist.  I'm gonna have to try that some time.  The dude is for real, 3 in a row is hard to do.  And when I win this fight and make it 3 in a row myself, you can bet your ass I'll be looking forward at that gold strap sooner rather than later."

Well, guess you have your answer.  He's confident, maybe overly so.  But a win here will give him a leg to stand on as being the Savage that he is.

Shout out for the work on the savage card.  It looks great, but doesn't paste well to the forums.  Click the link (name) above to take a look!

We caught up with Daniel "Hype Boy" Marsh at the press conference ahead of his main-card opening bout at GFC 6: Lune vs. Kim this Sunday. From head to toe, the young Australian was decked out in sponsorship clothes and accessories, with his fuzzy Savage Fightwear sweater stealing the show.

Q: Hey Daniel, we're about 30 hours out from your return to the cage now, where you're set to face Sweden's own Waldemar "Lights Out" Friberg. Does it feel any different for you, coming into this bout with thousands of eyes watching your every move - or is it business as usual? Are nerves through the roof, or are you staying calm as ever?

A: As you guys must already know, I was accepted into the Savage Scholarship Program and my life changed overnight. I got constant offers for photoshoots for magazines, loads of radio interviews and every sponsor in the world trying to get me to sign with them. I used to wake up every day feeling like Daniel but now I wake up feeling like Savage Daniel, if you know what I mean. Like myself but more savage. Oh and also, Savage Fightwear keeps me warm in the cold and cold in the warm.

Q: And what about the question Daniel? How are the nerves right now?

A: There aren't any. I'm going to go out there and put a beating on this man like I've always done. I'm going to put on a show for all you savages out there that will be watching. Wait, no, I'm the savage and I'm going to put on a Savage show for you fans out there. Yeah.

Q: You sound very confident indeed. Are you not worried at all about what your opponent might bring to the table considering he has yet to debut in MMA?

A: No. I've heard that he's a good boxer but I've got hands too. I'm confident about my chin also. Oh yeah, and I'm a Savage so obviously I'm gonna go out there and take his head off. From the first bell to the moment his head meets canvas, I will be coming forward in Savage fashion and throwing everything I've got at that bald head of his.

Q: That's good to hear, Daniel. Final question. How will "Hype Boy" celebrate his Savage victory come Monday?

A: You already know. I'm going to get the grogs in, get hammered and go to a jpop idol show. Then back in the gym for some more training, where I will be wearing my Savage Fightwear gear and drinking RECHARGE for recovery.

A walk off KO is a very suitable finish for any true savage.

Keep up the good work.

Daniel won his fight in 25 seconds, not by knockout as he claimed he would, but a quick submission after pulling guard! A real savage always keeps his cards close to his chest.

Savage Rising Star - Vol. 2

Artemis Entreri

A heavy hand met with a granite chin, and in less than one minute, this fight met an early end.  I don't know if it was the excitement for the challenge of facing another KO artist, if it was extra motivation for becoming a Savage fighter, or maybe he just wanted to put on a good show before the move to Apex.  Hell, who am I kidding, it was a little of each of the above, but the reality is "The Assassin" is a cold blooded killer who likes to push the limits.
He stepped into the cage in a fight that I truly felt could have gone either way.  Both guys were able to end fights early with their power, and Thuta has shown to have a granite chin as well.  Entreri took that as motivation and turned in his best fight to date with a 49 second KO victory.
Next up, his first official fight in APEX, Entreri will be stepping into the cage with Mustafa McBeth.  This fight is only a few days away as Entreri felt his previous fight hadn't really been much of a fight and didn't want to waste the camp.  So next up!
McBeth is another young up and coming striker with elite boxing skills and two KO victories under his belt.  The only problem is, he's also got a single KO loss under his belt as well.  Can you guess who handed him that defeat?  You got it, Entreri finished that fight in a minute and a half, but to be fair, it is the longest anyone has stood against him to this point in his young career.  His sparring match with teammate aside, of course.   What does this mean for Entreri?  It means two things.  1) McBeth will want revenge and is coming into this with a chip on his shoulder, and 2) The Assassin will be putting this to rest and laying claim to the KO of the Night award on Sept. 24th, of the year of the Savage, 2023.

Surkho is so anxious to fighting. Good folks at HFC offer short notice fight to make up for no show @scottxbandz and his strange Erkel fighter..Surkho understands Scott too busy turning gym into Glory Hole Palace to accept fight. Thankfully @flamesnoopy is real man and steps up. Should be tough test.

May the savagery be with you brother.

Daniel "Hype Boy" Marsh (397464)

2-0-0 (2-0-0 GFC)

After submitting his opponent Weldemar Friberg in hilariously fast fashion on GFC 6: Lune vs. Kim, Daniel quickly returned to the gym to focus on his training. Not before enjoying himself by indulging in his favourite hobbies, of course. One night, while Daniel and others from the Diamond Unbreakable gym were out drinking (as a means of distracting a teammate from his unfortunate defeat), Daniel received a text message from manager Rei.

"Title shot next. Get ready, kid," it read.

One can't say whether such an opportunity has arisen due to his performances inside the cage, or as a result of his growing hype as a savage scholarship program representative. It could be down to either, or, both of these factors. But either way, "Hype Boy" is set to face the toughest task of his young career thus far as he is fast-tracked to the title picture - where he will meet the streaking 20 year old Champion in "The White Dragon" Genko Yeshuati. Daniel was reached out by a independent Japanese martial arts magazine Budo+ for a statement regarding his upcoming title fight. He had this to say about the match and his opponent:

"Honestly, I didn't expect to be here so soon. It's a surprise for sure, but a welcome one. My opponent is older than me and more experienced but we're not the same. I'm a savage. He's been finished twice before and will be finished again come GFC 10. I know that last time I said I was gonna box the guy to death and then I took him down and tapped him asap and shocked everyone but I'm not gonna keep anything a secret this time."

"I will beat this man on the feet and crack that chin in savage fashion.  If he tries to take it to the clinch, which my coaches suspect he will, then I will beat him there too. He was rocked by a boxer half as skilled as me and knocked out by men with zero power. I don't see how I lose this. If gambling was legal in this country I'd tell you to put everything you own on Daniel Marsh by KO.

"When the belt is wrapped around my waist, Rocket will know he chose the right man for the Savage title. I'm special."

"Le Tigre" Olivier Dujardin

Speaking to the press after being spotted in Sydney, away from his team base in Tokyo, Dujardin shed some light on why he was there and his other future plans.

"I'm in Sydney to train. To expand my horizons. I heard there was a gym down here that really specialised in clinchwork and that's where I really want to improve. I've come down with my teammate "The Anaconda" because it's an area we both want to work on. Both of us have similar backgrounds in that the start of our careers was mismanaged and we were neglected by previous management. We're playing catchup here and manager Crazy Horse identified this spot as the place to be to spend some time to sharpen our game. Also, we're moving into summer down here and that helps with my lack of shirt game."

When asked about his next opponent, Ian Carter, and what his thoughts about him were:

"Ian is an interesting fight. I see a lot of similarities in our games. He's a pretty funny character on Buzz that's for sure. Interestingly, he's the first guy I've fought in a long time with a similar amount of experience as me. Everyone else I've fought in NYF so far has been in training for much longer. Kakuzo was already on his second manager and fighting back in the EMPIRE days, when my manager was newly back in the game. We will catch up in skills and won't get caught so easily again. Babcock is also similarly experienced and also quite a mature student. Even though I narrowly beat him already, I think the gap is only widening. I will have my time in the sun again and I need to go through Carter first."

Artemis Entreri

2-0 KT

5-0 MMA

0-1 Test fight

Artemis - "Oops, I did it again!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:10 of round 1 we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Artemis Entreri!

I will try to write something up for this update in a few days when I have some time off.  In the mean time, just know that Artemis is going around showing people his recently created KO highlight reel.  Apparently, women like aggressive men.

Hey, been a while since I dropped an update, eh? Sorry. Well a bunch has happened since I landed the scholarship with Savage. First thing I did was me and my buddies went for a rip and the hosers got on me for being such a keener! We hooked up with a couple of puck bunnies from the days when I'd lace 'em up and headed to the in 'n out to bulk up the old Molson muscle and get sloshed.

Oh right, this is supposed to be about the scrappin'. It's a bit of a blur late summer as the humidex was off the charts but I think I defended the Sigma belt I held against a fella called Rudi Kardi. Big guy, real tall. It was a tough one as he seemed to want to roll around lots where generally I'm less comfortable. I didn't land many good shots, did manage to open him up a little, but did enough the judges went my way. Not long after Sigma closed up and I was looking for work. I didn't want to end up on pogie like my brother, so I had my manager look over some contracts and ended up signing with Hardcore Fighting Championship.

Bunch of training next, like one of those montages from Rocky or something. Nice that Fight Founders is kitty corner to a Timmie's though! Can grab a double double and some Timbits when I'm out and about that way. So anyways I'm set up to throw mitts at Ivan Petrov in my first match in HFC. Same height, same weight, should be a banger. My Dad came with me to St. Petersburg for the fight and was yellin' "giv'er" the whole time! What a homer! But it was nice to have someone in the stands pullin' for me as the crowd was on Ivan's side for sure. I guess I didn't take the first round, kept missing and he mostly stayed out of the clinch, but I did catch him good in the later periods...rounds I mean. Ended up knocking him down four times, but he kept gettin' back up. Glad he wasn't wearing a bucket or I would have gashed up my hands for sure. Fifth round I finally caught him circling right once too many and it was lights out, and boom, new champion!

That was only a few days ago, still a bit jet lagged and might take a few more days off before I hit the gym again. Will try and keep you guys posted on my next scrap! So long!

Jayilton checking in, after a somewhat disastrous attempt to plunge into the shark infested waters of the QFC, where seasoned veterans go to cynically pad their records & inflate their hype on fresh-faced newbs, I got unceremoniously stretchered out of the cage after a brutal KO loss. Can't blame a guy for trying though right?

However after that disappointment I was signed by the good folks at CFC & I will soon be facing a more realistic proposition albeit still at a substantial 4 month training disavantage. But at least this is a challenge within the realms of the possible, and maybe the savagery I have been granted by my hard work, ambitious trainers & foolhardy manager will pay off a little better at this attempt.

I shall be facing Kobra Jay, on the 27th of October at CFC601 a world class boxer who I plan to have a few tricks up my sleeve for.

It is no secret I will be trying to get this fist-flinging juggernaut into my world where I will be attempting to meld art with violence by pounding his face into the canvas so hard he looks like something Jackson Pollock would paint,  just so long as I can get him there that is.

Surkho was - underwhelming - in his last performance. An abysmal showing in every single aspect of the fight was not only unacceptable, it was downright embarrassing.

”I walk away feeling sorry for myself. Blaming myself. Wondering if I should stick to vodka and hang up gloves.”  remarked the big Russian. “I have amateur show physically and mentally and want to quit…but Jeemy say No! this is not you.”
Where others see cause for concern in Surkho Dratchev‘s last performances, the big Russian sees opportunity thanks to a change in perspective from his manager.
“I hev to dance with pig at the party.” states Surkho plainly, seemingly misspeaking about sticking with what got him to the dance. “I will work with team to fix prahblems and go back to work with Jeemy to find better way to win.”

His current home, HFC is going up for sale. He’s itching to get back to the business of fighting and prove his naysayers wrong, but he’ll need a promotion who will keep him active.  Sadly this has been a challenge throughout his career. A man looking to fight without a place to do so regularly.
