  1. MARQUEE Event Preview http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1598063892CEv1PSt.jpg Credit: Glenn Rocket A&E's MARQUEE 5 2020-08-29 Helsinki "The Wild Bear" Ivan Sergeev (4-2-0) vs. Marcelo "San" Lopez (1-0-0) Heavyweight - 265lbs This week, we have the ultimate heavyweight showdown as our main event. But we also start with an appetizing heavyweight fight that is sure to get the juices flowing for what's to come. For Marcelo Lopez, it's an A&E debut on the biggest stage of all at the young age of 17. For Ivan Sergeev, it's a chance to bounce back from a 10 second devastating knockout loss. These are two fighters that have taken two very different paths up to this point but share something in common. They submit their opponents. Nothing but submission wins. Two RNCs and two kimuras for Sergeev and an armbar for Lopez. What's even more impressive about the latter's submission is that Marcelo Lopez...is a white belt! Yet he still only needed 72 seconds to make his 2-0-0 opponent tap. It makes sense then, why this teenager is on a MARQUEE card and not A&E: Rising Stars. Because this is no ordinary teenager. The talent is there. The only problem is...is his manager? Reports out of Lopez' camp is that morale is very low. He hasn't been training. He looks bad. And he's in financial trouble. Allegedly. A win here would give him $7500 but more importantly, something to be happy about. It's a tall Russian mountain to climb. "The Wild Bear" Ivan Sergeev has had his own fair share of ups and downs in his career. Just look at his last two fights. A 2:38 submission win that was good enough for the Sub of the Night award. Followed by that 10 second knockout loss to one of the hardest hitters in the division. There's no shame in that. But losing to a dysfunctional teenager? Questions will be asked. Does the Judo and Greco-Roman practitioner from Siberia, have the answers? #5 Sergei "Ultrabear" Ivanov (1-0-0) vs. #4 Big "Iheartcarrots" Chungus (1-0-0) Super Heavyweight - 265+lbs The Super Heavyweight division has come alive. And these are two of the fighters that helped wake it up. The bad news for the big guys is that sometimes they are offered a fight that is more dangerous than it should be because of the lack of depth at 265+. The good news for the big guys is that winning a fight like this, puts you right into the title picture. This is about as explosive as it gets. Big Chungus won his A&E debut in 29 seconds. It only took three punches before the referee stepped in. Sergei Ivanov won HIS A&E debut in 20 seconds. It was a monster hook that knocked his opponent out cold before he even hit the floor. Ivanov has the cardio should this one go longer. But that big right hand of Chungus' might not allow it. It may be a case of who lands first. It's definitely a case of don't blink. #5 Conan "The Celt" Kennedy (2-0-0) vs. #2 Ricky Youngblood (3-0-0) Lightweight - 155lbs Look at how good this card is! We're just getting started and yet here we are with two lightweights that are two of the best. For now they're on the outside looking in but they find themselves right on the cusp of title town. Two teenagers that have been training at two of the best gyms out there for over a year now. Both undefeated. Can they make the leap to the next level? They find out by accepting fights like these. These two aren't hiding. This is a good tough fight between two up-and-comers that take on all comers. You love to see it. A far cry from the early days of A&E when well renowned managers wanted to pick their fights. But we digress... Whereas Ricky Youngblood has fought all of his fights under the A&E banner, this is Conan Kennedy's first time here. There's a sub plot for this one. Given all the talk about rankings and A&E vs. QFC fights, it'll be even more interesting to see this one unfold. Youngblood is A&E through and through. Three fights. Three wins. From Rising Stars to MARQUEE. The A&E feel good story. Conan Kennedy has fought in the QFC and fought for another organisation, albeit briefly. He looks a real prospect. His 37 second TKO win last time out had a lot of people talking and we couldn't be happier he chose to make A&E his next destination. If he continues down this same road of winning, he may soon arrive at Our Champion's wall. Too premature? We don't think so. Beating the #2 ranked fighter on Saturday is a good way to about it. #4 Oluwadare Kwande (3-0-0) vs. #5 Richard "The Lost Cousin" Betts (2-0-0) Featherweight - 145lbs "Give me Betts". That was the message from Oluwadare Kwande to Dave Ashbourne. Calling out a much older ground based fighter is a ballsy move, there's no denying that. Calling out such a fighter in your first A&E fight?! Even more ballsy. The pair are neck and neck in the latest rankings, surrounded by fellow undefeated fighters. A loss will hurt in the short run. A win would be enormous in such a brutal division. Some of these featherweights are going to have to lose at some point. Kwande has gone the distance twice during his three outings. Those fights were not even close. Both had 10-8 rounds. Kwande dominated. But now he takes on a different beast in Betts. The brown belt has two finishes in two fights. He won't be testing Kwande's granite chin. That much is obvious. But he will be testing Kwande's mixed martial arts. The Uganda native has stopped many takedowns before. He stopped six from seven but that was against a fighter who ended his career 0-8-0. He stopped 15 from 18 against a better fighter in his last fight. Betts on the other hand, only needed one takedown attempt in his last fight. It was over in 2:59 of the very first round. But the real x-factor here? Oluwadare Kwande is no slouch on the ground. We believe he can hang with the best. He even won his first fight via submission! As a blue belt. Sitting in the middle of the featherweight rankings, someone's going to separate themselves from the pack. Boleslav Makarenko (2-2-0) vs. #1 Mickey "The Mouse" Fernandez (4-0-0) Featherweight - 145lbs Boleslav Makarenko's career up to this point is a story of two halves. He lost his debut in a fight where it seemed like his opponent wanted to hug him more than fight him. Following that decision loss, he then moved up in weight for a one three-minute round fight that didn't allow him enough time to showcase his talent. After that? A 15 second knockout win and a 10 second TKO victory. Talk about turning it around! What's going to happen next? It's anyone's guess and that's what makes it essential viewing. Mickey "The Mouse" Fernandez got next. He was a little unlucky that this fight got made long before the champion Joe Biden dealt with his next challenger. That leaves Fernandez needing to win this fight to secure that title shot against Biden. One more fight. Can he do it? Or will he fall at the very last hurdle? It will be his third MARQUEE event in a row. The man means business. The man is good for business. Four fights. All first round submissions. His last fight was a sure step up in competition too, as he became the first fighter to beat Ogum Jung Min. It was a seriously impressive performance that was very worthy of the Sub of the Night award it won. We've seen these kind of fights before though. A fighter being one win away from their title shot. Most of the time, the pressure gets to them and for lack of a better word, they choke. But Fernandez is built different. Let's see if he can impress once again or if Boleslav Makarenko can spoil the party. "Million" Marco Paris (3-0-0) vs. Fried Slobberknacker (3-1-0) Welterweight - 170lbs In case you've been living under a rock, there's a welterweight tournament going on. The A&E Welterweight Grand Prix 2020. Rolls off the tongue. But life goes on for the welterweights not involved. And there are some very good ones. Exhibit A. This fight. The Paris family has a long and successful lineage. Marco is the latest Paris looking to breakthrough under the stewardship of MMA manager Milo, who is back and better than ever. No one's figured out how to deal with Paris' exceptional wrestling yet. No one has even come close. He takes you down. And he beats the living crap out of you. It's a simple yet very effective tactic. Even when you know it's coming, you can't stop it. Slobberknacker's wrestling is respectable. It's the best that Marco Paris has gone up against so far in his career. Could it be the difference in this fight? Slobberknacker does have a solid chin. He's going to need it if he gets taken down. A solid chin is the very least you need when Marco Paris is pummeling you from on top. That ground and pound is nasty. Fried is going to have to pick his shots very well in order to survive the onslaught that is coming for him. The welterweight rankings have not been released yet, as we wait for the end of the tournament. But we have no doubt that Marco Paris is one of the best in the division. Not that he needs to, but he can prove it once again here. John "Stahley" PG (4-0-0) vs. "Sir" Knife Face (2-0-0) Welterweight - 170lbs John PG. John. P. G. What more can we say about this guy that hasn't already been said? Nothing. And I mean nothing, gets us more excited than a John PG fight. We would pay to watch him fight anyone anywhere anytime. And that's exactly what he does. If you need to jog your memory, PG burst onto the A&E scene with a 10 second knockout in his debut. Then a 36 second knockout two weeks later. "Oh but he's not fighting elite competition". Then he became the first man to beat 4-1-0 Best Best in the first round. Not even Ethan Hawk - another one of our favourite's - managed to do that. And THEN...he became the first man to beat Phin Phorreal in an absolute WAR. What a fight that was! Can he become the first person to beat Knife Face? We wouldn't put anything past John PG. We need to get to work on some John PG merch. "I need big fights. I don't want to prey on the easy fights, but I'll smash whoever is put in front." That's the message from Knife Face. We respect the hustle. There is absolutely nothing easy about a John PG fight. Face does have a tendency to cut. John PG does have a tendency to punch you in the face. Hard. John PG will most definitely punch Face in the face. Hard. Will cuts be the determining factor here? Let's be honest. John PG will be the determining factor. Interestingly though, John has had no trouble in the clinch. He can hold his own there for sure. But he's never been taken down. Not once. No one's even tried. No one's even had the chance. They lose before they can shoot. They don't know what's hit them. Because John PG did. Knife Face has a 100% takedown success rate. 5 from 5. Could it be? Can he take John down and fight HIS fight? Surely not. #9 Ricky Conway (4-1-0) vs. #8 Fran Griggs (5-1-0) Middleweight - 185lbs Fran Griggs lost for the first time against Nario Gwan back in June. He talked a lot of talk before the fight but has been relatively quiet since then. Gwan has been far more active, taking on some of the best middleweights and coming up short. He fought and lost to the Middleweight Champion Principo Adam. And he lost to Ricky Conway. Griggs has had one fight since the Gwan fight and that was against a fighter towards the bottom of the division. Why does this matter? Because there are many people, including this writer, that think Gwan has been harshly punished in the rankings for taking on such difficult fights and losing them. I would go one step further and suggest Griggs does not warrant his #8 ranking. He can shut me up with a victory over Ricky Conway, something Gwan was unable to do. We know that styles make fights. So it's entirely possible that Fighter A who lost to Fighter B can beat Fighter C who beat Fighter B. Sounds messy? This is a messy division. It's fair and right to say that Principo Adam is the best middleweight. He is. But anything else is open for debate right now. It's going to be very fun seeing all the middleweight fights happen...all the cards fall where they may...and seeing who is for real and who is not. There are rumours that this is Rick Conway's retirement fight. He hasn't been able to push past white belt in training and that may prevent him from ever challenging at the top end of the division. It certainly didn't help his case when he lost to title challenger Wilhelm Bar, his only loss. He has some great wins on his resume, like the Nario Gwan fight but also that Fight of the Night performance and win against the talented Spencer Wright. He threw 54 head punches that night and connected on an incredible half of them. It's been great watching Conway in action. If this is indeed his last fight, we will savour every second of it. © Liam Ghambe (3-0-0) vs. #1 Chris "Chrissy" Leopoldo (4-0-0) A&E Super Heavyweight Championship - 265+lbs And so we come to the co-main event of the evening. The biggest fight of the evening. In terms of size for sure. A combined 591lbs going head to head. Toe to toe. Punch for punch. Liam Ghambe won the title in spectacular fashion when he knocked Jan Nycz out cold, landing the perfect shot on the Poles' jaw. He knocked him down THREE times before finally putting him out in 83 seconds. It was brutal. It was like watching a train run over...another train. But the winning train was made up of steel. And the losing train was made up of hype. We mean no disrespect. But there are levels to this. And Liam Ghambe is on a whole new level. Critics might point to the fact that he was unable to put away Bob Sap in his debut. Sure he didn't get the finish. But every round was a 10-8 round. Total domination from beginning to end. Chris Leopoldo wants nothing more than this chance at the title. He believes he deserves it. We believe he deserves it. The only thing left to do is to get it. There were some question marks. He was 3-0-0 but all of the wins came against the same fighter. We already spoke about that in a previous preview. The opponent stayed the same but the finishes got more and more impressive, ending in a 29 second knockout. So we wondered, could he do that at A&E too? Leopoldo must have been trolling us when he did the EXACT SAME THING in his A&E debut - a 29 second knockout!!!! Ridiculous. That's back-to-back 29 second KOs. That's unheard of. And that's why we think he belongs at the top. © Denis White (3-0-0) vs. #3 Sylvester "The Cat" Coltrane (2-0-0) A&E Heavyweight Championship - 265lbs http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15933303281743.png vs. http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/25/25w8.jpg Denis White beat Tyrone Tyson so bad, that the former champ was dropped by his manager, completely changed his appearance and even changed his name. That's a beating. It was a performance that shocked nearly everyone. We knew White was good. But THAT good? Beat the face of the heavyweight division in 81 seconds good???? No way. It was a remarkable night and maybe the start of a remarkable reign. A sign of things to come. Coltrane is jumping into the deep end. He doesn't turn down fights. Especially championship fights. He's two wins from two fights, both in A&E. The last one was good enough to win the KO of the Night award. His opponent was bobbing and weaving with some impressive striking defense. But it didn't matter. Coltrane found the money shot. Right on the button. Good night! Sleep tight! These are two fighters that can box their way to victory. But they are so much more than that. White's wrestling is truly wonderful to watch. Unless you're his opponent. Coltrane can roll with the best of them. He has the advantage there, being a blue belt to the champion's white belt. It feels like a fight where the better gameplan will make all the difference. Or are those hands of White's too heavy? The equalizer. Who knows! All we know is that we're glad it's not us stepping into the cage on a night full of the biggest and baddest fighters in the 360k era. It's going to be great to watch, from a safe distance. It's going to be extremely violent. This fight may be the most violent of them all. ************ Hey! Do you like predicting the outcome of fights? Do you have some spare Tycoon cash lying around? Do you think you know better than the bookies? Well check out the official bookmaker of A&E: Hoolahan Billiard Room. http://www.mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1597856900Hoolahan%20Billiards.jpg Happy betting! And don't forget... A&E's MARQUEE. 3. HFC 36 - Wanker vs Bronstein New York Liberty Dome 29 August 2020 Sponsor: Threads of HARDCORE Bookmaker: Syndicate Bets Welcome to HFC 36, the largest and most anticipated fight in HFC history headlines this event, and I can't wait to jump into the action of this one! Massive Wanker headlines this event taking on F&B champ Lev Davidovitch Bronstein who dethroned Motts for the bet in F&B. Slingin and Woods square off to determine who's going to step into the cage to fight for the belt in their next fight. Ford and Moxley square off in a contenders match, this card is absolutely stacked! Massive Wanker (10-0) vs Lev Davidovitch Bronstein (11-3) Main Event Super Heavyweight Title Bout Wanker What can we say that hasn't already been said about Wanker? The man is a beast, he's massive, and he can win from anywhere. If you like standing toe to toe with a train, go ahead and let him KO you. If you manage to take him down, good luck trying to move him before he submits you. If he falls on top of you, well, I hope you have good insurance. This man just keeps winning, and he doesn't flinch at anyone who steps into the cage with him. Simply an outstanding striker, Wanker has finished 3 of his fights via KO, but his bread and butter is when he gets the fight to the ground. Opponents don't know how to handle that size and strength on the ground, and nobody expects a man that massive to be so quick. With exceptional wrestling and a brown belt to round out his game, it's no wonder opponents struggle with this massive Wanker. Wanker will be accompanied cage-side by manager Valentine's Ass, representing The GBU. Bronstein Scoring possibly the upset of the year over in F&B when he took out champion Jeremy Motts, Lev has quickly become the focus of attention for many MMA fans. His last loss came to Chief Red Eagle back when Eagle defended his belt. Later, Eagle lost the belt to Motts, who then lost it to Lev. Lev has bounced back in a big way, and with F&B closing their doors, he will need to establish himself here in HFC. He will be competing at the Heavyweight division in HFC, but has booked a fight against Wanker in what can only be called a super fight for the 350k bracket. Riding a 4 fight win streak, he'll need to have a solid gameplan to handle the challenge at hand that's known as Massive Wanker. When standing, Lev is a competent striker, nothing compared to the skills of Wanker, so we can expect Lev to want to take this fight to the ground where he actually stacks up to Wanker. His Sensational wrestling is slightly better than that of Wanker, and he matches up with Wanker with a brown belt. Bronstein will be accompanied cage-side by manager Consuelo Ramamail, representing himself. Blaze Wow, just wow! I have been so looking forward to this fight. I think this has the makings of a great one, but honestly, I don't think anyone out there aside from possibly manager Consuelo Ramamail things Lev has a chance here. On the bright side, it's not for the title, but a win here for Lev would put a giant target on his back and inform Krylov that he's got a new contender at the top of the 265. But Krylov is already clambering over this fight, surely to be sitting cage side watching as he looks ahead at his shot at the great Massive Wanker. Prediction: Wanker wins via KO (Punch) in round 1 Slash Slingin (11-3) vs Sha'quan Woods (7-2) Co-Main Event Welterweight Contender Bout Slinging What a crazy turn of events we've had in the 170 division. Slash was the champ, and looked like he was poised to stay that way for some time after his huge win over HFC legend Samuel Rodrigues. In an unfortunate turn of events, Slash lost his belt in the following fight against MTK. In his chance to bounce back, he was caught in a Guillotine by Luis Pinto giving him his first ever back to back losses. At that point, he and manager Hei Long King parted ways and now Slash will be taking the cage again under new manager Randall McSweeny. Much like Lev in the above fight, Slash is only a competent striker, focusing his efforts on his ground training where he excels with exceptional wrestling and holding a brown belt. He has finished one of his fights via TKO, but 8 of them via submission, which is obviously his bread and butter and gameplan here against Woods. Slash will be accompanied cage-side by manager Randall McSweeny, representing Naughtly Crew. Woods Woods comes back to the HFC after a brief stint to train. Many would argue that it wasn't training he was focused on, but that young super model he was smashing that he stole from Your Sweet Destruction. I don't know if that's still going on, but I guess Woods got his rocks off and is now ready to turn someones lights off. This is going to be a very interesting fight, because Woods has a huge advantage in the striking game with his exceptional boxing and remarkable Muay Thai, and matches up with Slash with his exceptional wrestling. The only place he gives up the edge in skills is this purple belt compared to Slash's brown. Woods will be accompanied cage-side by manager Clubber Winger, representing Limitless. Blaze This is going to be one hell of a fight, or at least it could be. If this fight goes to the ground, Woods has the tools to defend against Slingin. But If he can't get the fight to the ground, he will be completely outmatched standing with Woods. I just see too many ways for Woods to win this fight, and only one prayer for Slingin. Prediction: Woods wins via TKO in round 2. Dre Battle (3-1) vs Harry Olsen (10-4) Welterweight Bout Battle Dre Battle comes into this fight riding a 2 fight win streak, and facing the most experienced fighter to date of his short career. He's very well trained and comes into the fight with exceptional striking, and sensational wrestling. His only "weakness" would be his purple belt, but you have to be able to get him on the ground to have a shot at even calling that a weakness. Battle is slowly working his way up through the rankings, and shows no signs of slowing down. A win here over the veteran Olsen could poise him to be knocking on the door of a being considered a contender. Battle will be accompanied cage-side by manager Chris Karter, representing Convicted Inc. Olsen Olsen has been a staple of success in his career, posting 10 wins in the HFC is an accomplishment all of it's own. Since joining up with new manager Stig Zapp, he is 3-1 with his only loss to current champ Dos Anjos. Impressive wins over Sabotage Rex and Baruto Tonissaar in his last two bouts show that Olsen is far from done, and will give Battle all he can handle and then some. Olsen has exceptional Muay Thai, and some strong boxing to go with it, but is only a superb wrestler, giving that edge up to Battle. He also holds a purple belt, so do not expect these two to end up going to the ground. Olsen will be accompanied cage-side by manager Stig Zapp, representing Syndicate. Blaze This may be the fight of the night, ladies and gentlemen! This fight will stay standing, and these two will beat the hell out of each other. Someone is going to bleed, someone is going to have an eye swollen shut, and both are likely to get puffy eared by the end of this fight. I can't wait to watch this one, but due to the COVID shit, I'm definitely going to be wearing a face shield cage-side because I don't want any of their blood splatter on me... This is a very tough one, but I have to give the edge to Dre Battle. He doesn't have the experience that Olsen does, but he just matches up against him well and has an edge in striking and clinch, so I'll be looking to him to finish via one of those methods. Maybe if he wins this fight he can get caught up on his child support... Prediction: Dre Battle wins via Decision (Unanimous) Ed Ford (5-2) vs Georges Moxley (7-3) Lightweight Bout Ford Ed Ford is a rising start in the HFC. Since teaming up with manager Andy Down, Ford has been unstoppable. In his three fights in the HFC, Ford has KO'd Vaiduoklis, Sandoval, and Morales to win three strait. He's in a contender fight in this one against Moxley to earn a shot at the champ in his very next bout! If Ford wins this one against a very talented Moxley, he will be at the head of the line for the belt. Ford is a wonderful boxer, but a sensational Muay Thai artist. Devastating striking from those skills is only enhanced by his remarkable wrestling which he uses mostly for takedown defense and clinch. Should the fight go to the ground, his wrestling and purple belt will help him fend off any attacks until he can get back to standing again. Ford will be accompanied cage-side by manager Andy Down, representing Naughtly Crew. Moxley Did I mention Ford was a devastating striker? Well, let me introduce you to Georges Moxley. This man is possibly the best boxer in the entire HFC. He's an elite boxer and exceptional Muay Thai artist, making him one of the most lethal strikers in HFC history. Interestingly enough, he's only got 3 KO's under his belt, but has also found a way to win on the ground with 3 submission victories that he was able to post using his wonderful wrestling but mainly his brown belt. Moxley did lose his last outing in a title fight against Gorgon Patriot, and will be looking to bounce back in the win column in this one to remain as a top contender and not give his spot up to Ford. Moxley will be accompanied cage-side by manager Blake Phoenix, representing Legion of Doom. Blaze Holy shit, this is going to be a war! Ford has no lack of confidence as he looks ahead to his title shot, but Moxley is a damned beast! I don't know who's going to win this one, I don't want to pick. We have two great managers going at it with two outstanding young fighters. These two will be at the top for a long time to come, and there's no doubt that at least one of these guys will hoist that championship gold at least once in their HFC career. Ford's my boy, I would love to be at his after party because that man knows how to get down and part, but if I were a betting man, which I am, I'd have to put my money on Moxley. Prediction: Moxley wins via submission (Triangle) Undercards: (To Be Continued) Dillon Van Barle (6-2) vs Miguel Duarte (1-2) Nick Rodriguez (4-0) vs Jim Fox (5-6) Samson Komua (2-2) vs Simeoni Jukola (6-3) Akhmedov Nurmagedov (4-1) vs Jaska Lahti (2-4) John Smith (3-2) vs Samir Mourani (5-6) Tali Ihantala (0-2) vs Johan Joestar (2-2)

  4. Hey y'all, wanted to come up with something that would spur some forum action- here it is: "The Community Fighter" will be a fighter that has all of his stats/actions determined by YOU, the community. The first three questions will be posted as poll questions- This includes weight class, hiddens and fighter base. All other questions will simply be asked in a post, in which you are more than welcome to simply post your response. Here is the avatar i'll be using: http://www.mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15883410517275.gif Generic enough? Yeah, that's the point, because the first question for the community is... QUESTION 1: FIGHTER NAME The post below with the most upvotes will be selected as the fighters name. Get creative! After a certain amount of suggestions, I'll pick the name with the most upvotes and tally up the poll results above. Hopefully this career is extremely interactive for the community and brings some excitement to the forums. I know i'm looking forward to it. In the future i'll be adding prizes to the best suggestions, more on that later. Hope you enjoy! Peace n love

  6. Noooooooo All the best to you Rei! I get it mate. I just spent most of my day writing about fictional fighters instead of working on my own website. I didn't have the guts to answer my wife when she came home and asked, "what have you been doing today?" Really glad you didn't delete your account. Legends never die. Take care man!

  10. On April 8th 2015 , in the first round of a QFC Tournament where nobody took much notice of anything , an unknown fighter would have his debut , and subsequently his first loss in MMA ... Fast forward over 5 years , and 65 fights later ..... That man's name is Orpheus "Big Guy" Boagrius http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/14292497323689.gif Boagrius has been a mainstay of the top 10 SHW list for almost 3 years , including a run inside of it during his initial run in the sport under his previous management. Even now , he would rank inside the Top 10 if he was signed to an organisation. INITIAL CAREER AND REBIRTH He began his career with 2 losses surprisingly , but his old manager Altair The Assassin saw huge potential in him , quite literally. After those losses, he amassed an incredible 17 fight win streak as he claimed MMA Gods and Generation gold. Unfortunately , after suffering 2 losses to Cavey Beaumont , his management would disappear leaving Boagrius' future in the sport in doubt ... After nearly 3 (in game) years outside of the sport , a now 27 year old Boagrius returned to the cage. Looking to build his once fearsome reputation back up (under Grant Brophy's management .... somehow) , he signed for Hardcore Fighting Championship which was based out in the Siberian wilderness. He instantly gained notice , after scoring three consecutive (T)KO victories inside the first round. This included an unexpected trilogy fight with Tony O Rangers who defeated Boagrius in his second ever fight. He concluded his time in Russia with a dominant performance over Archie Trew before shady dealings in the org caused its inevitable demise. FIRST RUN WITH GAMMA AND CHRONIC ILLNESS From there , he signed a highly lucrative deal with long standing Las Vegas based org, GAMMA. Despite previous history between Manager and Org - Both camps understood this was the best move for Boagrius during his rise back to the top. What nobody expected was just how brutal Boagrius' debut inside the org would be. In just 13 seconds , Boagrius cracked his opponent , Joe Jordan , with a hellish haymaker which staggered him. Jordan threw a kick in retaliation , only for Boagrius to drop him once more for good with a massive hook. At the time, Jordan was still a top 10 fighter , and a former #6 P4P fighter. Something that wasn't disclosed prior to now. Boagrius always tipped the scales at 300lbs , meaning the SHW division was the only place he would ever call home. During his initial run with GAMMA , he suffered a devastating bout of Ulcerative Colitis which caused him to drop huge amounts of weight. After discovering this illness, Boagrius dropped as far down as 272lbs. With proper care and treatment, Boagrius began his recovery and regained his weight back to where it was. Unfortunately this staggered his career , as he went 5-3 during the rest of his GAMMA run , but included wins over Thorbjorn Heimendahl and Sebastiaan Rutten. REBUILDING TO THE TOP AND SYN CAREER He wasn't offered a renewal on his GAMMA deal , and so he left and after a short time to maintain his recovery - He signed with Madness MMA. He instantly took attention of the title scene after beating Aleksandar Dragovic - As he would defeat future #2 P4P fighter Stu Grimson via TKO in the 2nd Round to capture the title. He would actually lose the title to Dragovic in his first defense , before recapturing the title in their Trilogy rematch. He would defend the title a further 2 times in what would be Madness MMA's final event under the banner. Once again finding himself looking for an org - Boagrius would sign for his 2nd legendary org in the world ... Synchronicity Boagrius' management was no stranger to Syn , having been the owner of the org at one point in its storied history. Once more , Boagrius immediately found his feet , defeating Dmitri Zaitsev in his debut before challenging Rocket Bob Frankels for the SHW title. After a back and forth first round , Boagrius came out swinging as he instantly connected with a perfect right hand to KO Frankels in 5 seconds of the 2nd round! With his redemption arc , and his dream of holding the highest prize in MMA , now completed , Boagrius looked to take on all challengers. He actually lost the title in his first defense , as Brad Lansar capitalised on his notoriously weak ground game to take him down and submit him in the first round. Infuriated by this result , Boagrius instantly rematched Lansar and immediately took him to task as he avoided the takedown and connected with a Spinning Back Fist to knock Lansar out cold and recapture the title. He would compete in only the 2nd Superfight of his career (His fight with Conservative being his first) as he took on SyFi champion Hip Hop at Syn 619 LoL Finals where he dropped him with a KO in the 2nd round. Boagrius would lose his title once more in his first defence to Rocket Bob Frankels via TKO in the first round. Once more , Boagrius was enraged by this and would be fed Lansar for their trilogy fight in order to earn a title shot. Boagrius would ragdoll him again , as Lansar initiated a clinch but couldn't take the fight down , Boagrius used his size to his advantage to dominate him en route to a First Round KO. He would not rematch Frankels for the title , instead the man who defeated him , John Smith. Renewed with confidence , Boagrius avoided the majority of Smiths' offense as he displayed an amazing display of Striking Defense while punishing him with strikes to end it via TKO inside 2 minutes. Once more holding the Syn title , Boagrius would finally defend the title successfully against arguably the most dangerous opponent of his career , former #1 P4P fighter and former HW Champion, Kimbo "Dark Killer" Slice. Boagrius was imperious during the bout , dealing with the majority of Slice's strikes before rushing him with a number of strikes to end the fight at 3:55 of the 1st Round! The rest of his run was just as impressive, gaining successful title defences against Mark Kerr , Dominic Gotti and Rocket Bob Frankels in their trilogy fight. He would also pick up back-to-back Superfight victories over Gauthier Delsarte and Diarmuid Curr , both of the highly respected Action Jackson camp. FAR EAST SUCCESS AND RETURN TO GAMMA FOR FAREWELL Upon his victory over Gotti , there was no competition left in the Syn SHW division. The org decided to merge the division into the HW division , but Boagrius had no intention to drop weight. As a result , he was a free agent and ended up signing with new organisation Tokyo Rebels. Touted as a marquee signing at the time , Boagrius headlined every event he competed at , capturing the title in his debut against Nicolas Muller , before defeating George Peterson , Gauthier Delsarte once more , and highly respected former #5 P4P fighter Jean Paul Garcon for successful title defences. In his final bout for the org , Boagrius defeated rising star Ross Kemp with a trademark right hand inside the First Round to defend his title once more. Due to a situation involving Tokyo Rebel's owner Rei . , the org closed shortly after this event. Now heading fast towards the twilight of his career , Boagrius had an array of offers. He felt he had unfinished business however , and resigned with GAMMA once more. He knew he was fighting on borrowed time , having signed for them now at the age of 39, and unfortunately he suffered a devastating KO loss inside the first round to Thierry Paulin having knocked him down earlier in the round. He would bounce back by scoring a TKO win over Sunray Spike in the 2nd round to earn a title shit , a rematch against Paulin. It would be almost a perfect mirror of the initial fight , as Boagrius once more scored the knock down on Paulin but his aging body couldn't follow up , and he subsequently suffered another loss in the first round due to a KO from Paulin. Boagrius would suffer consecutive losses for only the 2nd time in his career as he would be knocked out in the first round by Crotch Grabber. Knowing his time was coming up , and having told GAMMA management of his intention to retire following his current contract , Boagrius would end his career by snapping his losing streak with a victory over Dustin Kruger , before losing to Sunray Spike once more , and capping it off with victory over Zdravko Saric. Upon his final victory , Boagrius gave a heartfelt speech (it was dubbed over while he mumbled angrily , don't worry) to the fans in attendance before leaving the cage. Boagrius has achieved much in his career, including; 32-6 in career title fights 100% KO Record (52 wins , 52 (T)KO's) 33 career 1st Round (T)KO's MMA God's Super Heavyweight Champion (13 successful defences) Generation Super Heavyweight Champion (4 successful defences) Hardcore Fighting Championship Super HW Champion (1 defence) 2x Madness MMA Super Heavyweight Champion (2 successful defences) 3x Syn Super HW Champion (4 successful defences , Current Champ) Tokyo Rebels Super Heavyweight Champion (4 successful defences) Member of MMA God's Hall of Fame Career High of #4 P4P - Longtime #1 SHW Fighter in the World 4x Fight of the Night awards 12x KO of the Night awards Notable wins: vs Closet Case Conservative (#5 P4P) vs Stu Grimson (#2 P4P) vs Rocket Bob Frankels (#4 P4P) 2-1 in total vs Kimbo Slice (#1 P4P) vs Diarmuid Curry (#4 P4P) 2019 Super Heavyweight Fighter of the Year On a personal note , it was a lot of fun managing Boagrius during his career , even during my long spells of just afk managing and him still winning. I'd honestly say for the past 2 years almost , I haven't changed his sliders once , and unfortunately his training also was not set properly for the same period of time (Literally No Training every day). Wanna say thanks to Altair The Assassin for making such a monster way back in 2015 , and although it's unfortunate his took time away from the game, seeing how Boagrius had done , I'd say he had a career worth looking back on. I'll be retiring him soon , and I'll post his hiddens to the relevant thread. Cheers to all for a great career, and some amazing opponents for that he fought.

  13. I appreciate the love y'all! "Mike Cozad, the mysteriously handsome man revealed!" By Chad Stevens, reporter at MMA-LA Despite my many meetings of Mr. Cozad, a photograph of him has proved elusive until now. Cozad is known for having a top notch legal team parallel only to that of Disney and their beloved mouse. Cozad has banned the use of any unlicensed photograph or caricature of himself, and thus far has made it impossible for readers to quite understand how tall, dark and handsome he truly is- that is, until now. Mr. Cozad permitted one of the most well reputed photographers in the world to take his photo for publishing purposes. MMA-LA has obtained that photo, and attached a copy below: http://mmatycoon.com/gallery/0/15984276549093.gif Now with a face to put to the name, MMA-LA can only hope that readers can now grasp the full extent of his potential star power.

  16. Again no offense, I can send an offer to Paddy; I can't send an offer to you so it's not a dig at Duvernay, if you're not ready to sign you're not ready to sign it's understandable, but Paddy's decision on a fight doesn't effect my ability to try and arrange it, having fighters on the roster is what does. Whenever your fighters want to look around, KoF will be open and ready.

  17. Andy! Buddy! It's business, now I can't speak to Paddy accepting or not but I can't go about even trying to arrange it if you don't want a spot in my org now can I? If you want to force the ball into his court feel free to let me know and we can set you up with a one fight contract, if it fizzles and the fight doesn't go down I'll release you. Simple as that, no risk

  28. And also, I love that everyone's just trying to make A&E better. Thanks guys!
    1 point
  29. That's not the case though mate . The 5-2 fighter has the benefit of the other columns. That's why Sam Salter is ranked above the 1-0-0 guys because as a 5-2-0 fighter you get to impress in other areas too like finishing and bonuses and most importantly winning five straight is much better than losing two straight. But I agree with so much here. How about adding another column. Keeping it simple. Number of wins in A&E. It might be a problem down the line if we sign good Island fighters though. But it helps now because I agree an A&E win should mean more than a QFC win.

  31. I recognise I have been almost completely absent for a long period of time now and feel like the least I owe you lot is an explanation as to why. I've fallen entirely out of love with the game and on top of that, I have been spending all of my free time on things concerning my life outside of it - having just founded my own business. It's stressful times and I've decided that I will be stepping away from the game almost entirely. As someone who used to love this game and would dedicated a lot of my free time to it, this decision was not made lightly - I even considered having Mike delete my account but I know I would have ended up regretting that. I will continue to run the High Roller Grand Prix and will hand out all of the prizes as promised, so have no fear if you're still in it. All other fighters will be released asap. Although brief, thank you for taking part in DFN, hopefully I'll do something with it once again in the future when the time is right. I will log in now and then to accept fights but apart from that I'll be inactive. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Congratulations to those that have made it thus far, the Quarter-Finals proved to be a great round with a bunch of exciting fights! The updated bracket is as follows:

  32. It already is taken into account in other areas of the calculation, just not enough imo, relative to this area. If you want this to act as a leveling mechanism... I mean... OK? Not sure how to respond to that... One reason the numbers are a bit screwy is because not many fighters have more than 1-2 fights in the org at this point. Once there's more data to plug in these will be in better shape. Still the idea that any bum with a 1-0 record can come join the org and immediately enjoy a 20+ point lead in the rankings on the basis of this one component over someone who's gone let's say 5-2 makes no sense at all.

  33. It seems to me like losing a "test" fight is ... losing a fight. Nothing would break immersion more than separating out those types of fights. I personally have never sacked a guy just due to his hiddens. I've only sacked one guy ever after one fight, and it was due to a very poor performance. Taking those "test" fights into account for people who just want to create a bunch of fighters and sack all but the best ones is the only natural leveling mechanism out there for those who enjoy having a stable of different characters and enjoy the RPG side. I do agree that maybe the quality of competition could be taken into account, but that would be a lot of work. Maybe in-org fights should be worth more. But overall, I like it. No system is going to be perfect.

  40. http://mmatycoon.com/images/posters/1597411893SPPS_Poster_5.png Sucker Punch Preview Sucker Punch Pro Series 5 Well hello out there again to all our Sucker Punch fans worldwide! Excited to be here as we head into Sucker Punch Pro Series 5 this week over at the Bondi Outdoor Arena in Sydney, one of my favorite venues! I’m Hare Rumpler and I’m joined by my partner and analyst, Donkey “Dan”. We also have Suzy Sucker Punch with us, our talented and determined media correspondent who will be bringing all the commentary from our managers and fighters your way throughout the preview! Coming up this weekend we’ve got a great one in store for all our fans with card that is packed full of Welterweights and Featherweights, and even a Lightweight battle thrown in there for good measure! The big highlight of the night will be the Main Event which will be a title fight for the Sucker Punch Pro Series Welterweight Championship of the World! Ronnie Bass, who won our Welterweight Sorter Series and currently stands as the “Unofficial” champion of the division will finally get a chance to put the “Official” in front of that title…that is, if he can fend off the challenge from a talented and hungry DJ Costune! And while the highlight of this card may be the title fight, the depth of the challenges and great matchups on this one extend into the Co-Main Event and well beyond! Honestly Donkey, when I look at this card, most of the fights on it, including the Undercard fights, could easily be on a Main Card just about any event! There’s a reason this one is expected to EASILY be our first sellout at the Bondi Outdoor Arena with no free tickets given! Donkey, I’ve been hearing that these tickets have even started selling for a profit on BubStub and other ticket reselling services…ha, maybe we should have upped the prices? Nah, I want our fans to have access to these fights and shows, and there’s no better way to reward them than to make sure the real fans get first shot at the tickets before resellers jump in! But, yes, this is one hot ticket folks! Let’s hear from our sponsor and merchandise partner, then move on and take a closer look at this great night of action! http://mmatycoon.com/images/company/logo/1584375781SWN.jpg Shadow Warrior Nutrition isn’t just out merchandise and sponsor for these events, but they’re also our trusted source for training supplements for our fighters! These guys do so much for us, between the extra bit of income that we get at the events that helps with the Of the Night awards to just being there with their Shadow Warrior Tea 160Q, the fantastic energy loss reduction supplement that keeps our guys training and helps to keep them from dropping down on energy! Now would be a great time to get yourself some fantastic sups to help your fighters out, you won’t be disappointed, check them out today! Now, let's get to it! Undercard Bout #1: Featherweight Mickey DIsmantle (2-2-0) vs. Ecce Homo (0-1-0) Donkey, we jump right into the action tonight with a fantastic matchup! Dismantle and Homo may come into this fight without “winning” records, but both of these kids are incredibly talented and bring a ton to the cage for this fight! And…bonus Donkey…both are super prepared and ready to go, gas tanks full, morale on high…dang man, when do we ever get to say that with not just early fights, but the first fight on a card?!? If this is any indication SPPS 5 is going to be an event you don’t want to miss! Dismantle is a heck of a fighter with some serious skills on the feet. He’s done very well against other strikers so far in his career going two for two against them. Where he’s fallen short and potentially needs to shore up a few key pieces of his game is on the ground, specifically with his grappling techniques. As a 20 year old, this kid still has a ton of fight and time in him, with a full career ahead. But, no doubt he wants to make a statement against a tough opponent and get his record into the positive side of things. Ecce Homo will provide an amazing challenge for Dismantle while Dismantle continues to work out those kinks in his ground game. Homo pretty much mirrors Dismantle’s skillset and this fight is likely to come down to intangibles and management strategy! And when I say mirror, I mean it! These two both have competent boxing and exception Muay Thai, with only slight differences where Dismantle has the edge in wrestling and Homo has the edge in BJJ with his blue belt over Dismantle’s white one. If Ecce can win this, he ties things up at 1-1 and kicks off the true portion of his fighting career after his prior QFC fight. Now, Homo is technically here with us on a one fight deal, as he came in specifically to challenge Dismantle. But I won’t lie Donkey, as a recruiter I do harbor some hope that maybe we can lure him onboard permanently, which would be an amazing coup for us! You don’t get a more balanced fight! Who wants it baby?!? Go get it! Donkey, what do you have…? Donkey’s Pick: DIsmantle via TKO (Strikes) Hare, you couldn’t be more right, and I have to tell you, the way you got things going there actually has me all excited for this card already! Ok, a bit of a pat on our own collective backs there, but seriously, it’s hard not to be up for this one! Yeah, I don’t have too much here in terms of additional analysis…I’m pretty sure this one stays on the feet and these two go to war, potentially feeling it out early, but maybe not, maybe just taking it to one another in a fight that is sure to have the fans rocking the Bondi early! DIsmantle is the more experienced fighter when it comes to time in the cage professionally, so I’m going to go with that as the “edge” factor and lean in his direction in a fight that could go either way! Suzy Sucker Punch: Boys, I have some additional information here, as I’ve been speaking with several of the managers heading into this card, Andrew Wittig included. Mr. Wittig was telling me that for Dismantle, this one is a true test and barometer for their camp on whether he has “it” and is worth investing considerable time into going forward. From what we’ve seen, we think he does. But I know they’re looking very closely at this fight and they want to see him walk away with a win against a considerably tough, tight challenge! While Hare and Donkey may not see this as a career deciding, make or break fight, apparently Wittig’s fight camp is partially looking at it that way! ********* Undercard Bout #2: Featherweight Max Holliday (0-1-0) vs. Sorsa Lokki (3-5-0) Our next fight of the evening will feature two young warriors who both very much want to walk away with a win, with both currently holding something other than a winning record. Undoubtedly that’s something that both Sorsa Lokki and Max Holliday want to change and the process of doing that starts with this fight! Holliday comes into this fight with the eye of the tiger and a full head of steam! He’s prepared, focused and from what Suzy has told us, his camp seems to be confident in their chances to walk away with the win. He’s a Muay Thai artist who will have the edge there in this fight. This is his second professional fight after taking a tough loss in his first which was with us here at Sucker Punch last month against Hiki Antsa. Hiki got the better of him with a brutal ground game and really brought a diverse attack of submission attempts and strikes to the table once there. That’s something he’s unlikely to have to worry about in this match as Lokki has never shown an inclination to go to the ground. That said, Lokki does like to stand up and bang as much as Max Holliday is probably looking forward to the same, so this may be the second bout of the evening where two fighters stand there looking each other in the eye with bad intentions and fists ready to fly without too much of that rolling around on the ground stuff! Lokki will have a slight edge in boxing but this should be a very close fight all around and potentially come down to who wants it more! Lokki comes off two decision victories, so he’s shown he can go the distance if need be. He’s also shown he can be susceptible to big shots from elite strikers like Mickey Dismantle and Kurt Cobain as well. So, is Max Holliday a big striker or can Lokki take him the distance and win this on points? Max has shown himself to have heavy hands, but has not yet shown them off in the cage…Lokki may want to watch for that! What do you think Donkey…? Donkey’s Pick: Holliday via TKO (Strikes) One thing that worries me slightly about this fight is the energy situation going on with Lokki at the moment. Will he come into this fight for the weekend low? Perhaps not, he may rest up and be ready to go for the fight. But, as of right now, he’s running along at about 60% energy…which means that’s the way he’s training. That’s not a good thing as being below 90% when training means you are not getting the best quality training and returns on each session. That, over time, can pile up. For that reason, I’m giving the edge here to Holliday who is clearly getting more out of his camp at this time than Lokki is. ********* Undercard Bout #3: Welterweight Pietro Marchionni (3-2-0) vs. John Diaz (3-5-0) Our next fight with Marchionni and John Diaz will switch gears for us a bit and test things out on the ground, Donkey! Both of these guys have a history of preferring the ground game, with Diaz chalking up his three wins to date via submission, while Marchionni has shown an ability to work the combination of both ground and pound and submission attempts as needed. Now, for Marchionni in this one, I will say that I also would not be surprised to see him potentially keep this on the feet. He has a blue belt in BJJ and superb wrestling to compliment it, which may very well be enough to meet or exceed Diaz’s skills on the ground with his own purple belt in Jiu Jitsu. However, Marchionni can clearly strike, as he’s had TKO’s from the ground in the past and could use his combination of some boxing and some Muay Thai to stand if he is at all worried about that purple belt. I think it’s probably unlikely though. Diaz has superb boxing but has shown no tendency in his career so far to want to use that to stand and go at it with an opponent. My suspicion is that it’s mostly defensive to give him time to work to the ground and go for those submissions. This will be John Diaz’s debut with us here at Sucker Punch, as he previously fought at RRFC. He comes off a decision loss to Gabriel Cote over there, with a submission victory preceeding it from early July. Over to you Donkey…? Donkey’s Pick: Marchionni via TKO (Strikes) I think Marchionni is going to have a definitive advantage in this fight. Not so much specifically due to skills per se, but due to preparation mostly. Diaz is coming into this fight low on morale. Right now he’s at maybe 55%, but given that he’s still wearing his tighty-whities, that’s unlikely to improve before the fight. Given that he has five losses in his career, and has yet to ever put on new clothing to try to improve morale, which would drop every time he loses and only improve a bit with a win…it’s clear that his management team has never addressed this area of concern. And probably a big contributor to those five losses! Perhaps they’ll start working on that this next month here now that they’re aware of the issue and how to remedy it? I hope so, Hare doesn’t have a lot of patience for that if no attempt is made to correct the situation. ********* Undercard Bout #4: Featherweight Akara Kongsangchai (1-1-0) vs. Dino Ebedi (1-0-0) Alright Donkey, get ready to get up and get excited again baby! Two fighters coming into this with Kong and Ebedi ready to rumble! Both with full gas tanks, focus in the eyes and hearts on fire! It’s like a song or something there Donkey! Er, or something like that. Kong will have a slight edge in all aspects of standup in this fight and especially seems to prefer the clinch. However, his last fight ended via a submission loss, and the way that fight got to the ground was from a takedown while in clinch. Tonight, he’ll face off against Ebedi who, while not having ridiculously better BJJ skills than Kong, does have the purple over blue belt skill difference. Will Kong still go with the clinch, a strength of his, or will he try to keep his distance and pick apart Ebedi when he can, potentially putting on the damage with some well placed strikes? Ebedi and Kong both come into this fight as their second with Sucker Punch. For Ebedi, he started his professional career with us in his last fight, which he won via submission over Alex Kozlovski, a big win quite frankly to kick off his career! In that fight, Kozlovski took it to the clinch and Ebedi did exactly what happened last time to Kong, which was take it to the ground from there against Kozlovski. So if that scenario is something in the back of Kong’s mind, this would reinforce that being a concern! I don’t see any reason that Ebedi would change tactics for this fight, going with what has worked so far. So, what do you say Donkey...? Donkey’s Pick: Ebedi via Submission (Armbar) I see both of these fighters going with their strengths and trying to depend upon some slight changes in strategy, at least on Kongsangchai’s part, to try to pull through with a victory. Ebedi has no reason to adjust, as you stated Hare, other than trying not to be predictable. Kong should potentially try to adjust some, but mostly for how he tries to prevent the takedown and then, maybe his strategy on the ground once there to avoid a submission and get stood back up. But, his strength on the feet seems to lie in the clinch and he may want to still rely up on that. If it goes status quo without any major adjustments I believe that history will repeat itself, just with different names, and the fight will go to the ground from the clinch, giving Ebedi the advantage he needs. Suzy took a quick call with Akara Kongsangchai earlier this week… Suzy Sucker Punch: Akara, great to hear from you and I hope your camp is going well as you prepare for the fight with Dino Ebedi this coming week. How have things been going and do you plan to change anything up going into this next fight to give yourself a better shot at getting the win this time around? Akara Kongsangchai: Last fight I was not ready for Jiu Jitsu, as a Muay Thai fighter we fight on our feet and they told me if I tap I lose the round, I didn't know it meant the whole fight! I've been training hard to learn Jiu Jitsu now though and believe my next fight will go much better as long as they stop trying to hug me! Suzy Sucker Punch: Well, there you go Donkey and Hare! Akara would prefer if his opponents didn’t try to love him so much! ********* Undercard Bout #5: Lightweight Mike Snot (4-1-0) vs. Kira Yoshikage (0-0-0) Donkey, there’ve been murmurs in the hallways here around Sucker Punch headquarters all week leading up to this next card, and a lot of those have revolved around Kira Yoshikage, a newcomer who is making his Sucker Punch debut! And boy, will he be making a debut, going out to the cage and facing off against hard hitting, successful, and frankly, a bit scary Mike Snot! Now, the reason there is so much talk about this one is because Yoshikage is new to full MMA, but not new to competition. He’s been heavily involved in grappling up to this point having spent a bit of time over at Catch Wrestling! But now, it seems we’re lured him to the dark side and he’s ready to make his full MMA appearance! This fight will truly be a tale of two cities or worlds, with a striker in Snot going out there against a ground specialist in Yoshikage! While Yoshi has clearly started working on some standup skills, the ground remains his area of expertise. He has a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu and knows how to use it, having subbed out more than a couple guys from his grappling days, usually with some sort of guillotine or choke. So if he gets Snot to the ground, Snot had better be very worried about being put to sleep as Yoshi soothingly rocks him and sings bedtime songs in his ear! Haha, no? Donkey, he won’t be singing songs? Why not? Maybe he could do it in Japanese! Is Kira Japanese even? Doesn’t mean he still can’t do it in Japanese, right? It says he’s from Japan, but fighting out of Las Vegas. He could be a Japanese Elvis impersonator on the side you know! No, that’s not racist Donkey, shut it! Snot is NOT going to just lay down and go to sleep out of the goodness of his heart though Donkey. Frankly, I’m not sure there’s any goodness IN this man’s heart! He’s a 27 year old fighter who has either KO’d or TKO’d four guys so far in his career, the most recent being Dami Makarovich here when he made his Sucker Punch debut two fights back. Btw, he did that in just a minute and seventeen seconds and it was a brutal KO that garnered KO of the Night honors! That, as I said, was two fights ago. The bad news? Last fight he was subbed out via armbar by Valery Bokov. So…there is a risk to this fight that if he doesn’t get to Yoshi’s jaw early and often, and this goes to the ground…well…let’s just say Snot better put Yoshi on the ground…preferably out cold…before that happens! Any thoughts there Donkey…? Donkey’s Pick: Yoshikage via Submission (Kimura) This is a very, very tough one to pick Donkey because the two of them are so different in styles and approach! I love Snot’s power and killer instincts. And, he has the age factor with experience. Which may or may not be an advantage at this point as the young kids are starting to even the odds in that respect. But…if he even had a blue belt, I’d probably go with Snot in this. However, that white belt worries me. If he doesn’t end this early…this fight WILL end up on the ground. And when it does, that white belt will not allow him to survive against an experience ground specialist with submission skills like Yoshikage’s. ********* Main Card Bout #1: Welterweight Konrad Wagner (3-0-0) vs. Chaz Campbell (5-2-0) As we move into the top of our card for the evening we get a fight with HUGE implications for both fighters! This is a dangerous contest for both Konrad Wagner and Chaz Campbell, with a skilled opponent who knows how to win standing across from each of them in the cage as they each look into the eyes of the other! Yes, a dangerous bout…but one with huge reward to go with the risk! For Wagner, he’s already well ranked in the Top 10 of the division. As a very young 361k fighter, this fight against an opponent who has won 3 of his past four would put him squarely into consider as a top contender if he should walk away with a victory. For Campbell, a fourth win out of his past five fights, with his only loss being to a talented Kribbson Johansson, would not only skyrocket him firmly into the Top 10, but likely put in just a step away from contender status. Those are big, big things on the line ladies and gentlemen! Wagner is a boxer who is willing to clinch up when needed and it works to his advantage. But mostly his focus is on boxing and finishing from there over the course of his three fights. Campbell, despite not having a high skill level on Muay Thai, has used the clinch effectively along with his boxing skills in most fights. With a blue belt over Wagner’s white, you have to wonder if by chance he’ll attempt to utilize his advantage on the ground in this fight. That will likely depend upon whether he has any confidence in his ability to generate offense on the ground, or if most of that belt is defensively oriented. Donkey, thoughts here…? Donkey’s Pick: Wagner via TKO (Strikes) I’m intrigued by the possibility that Campbell may decide the ground is his best bet if he has skills there to finish. However, if he doesn’t this turns into a standup battle and Wagner undoubtedly has the advantage there, despite the amount of time Campbell has spent training over Wagner. Both fighters are fully prepared for this fight, so the great news…they give themselves the best possible opportunity to perform at their highest level! ********* Main Card Bout #2: Featherweight Jack Sparrow (10-1-0) vs. Julian Concrete (3-1-0) Donkey, last we checked, both Sparrow and Concrete were hanging out just inside the Top 10 for the Featherweight division. Concrete would have been higher if not for his recent loss to Kurt Cobain but has been moving along on the ladder very well with three wins in a row prior to that, with all of his fights having taken place here at Sucker Punch. Sparrow, at 10-1 and being 3-0 in his last three fights would normally be ranked much higher, actually, in top contender status, if not for the fact that he’s already told us he doesn’t feel he’s able to go head to head with the young kids in the division. So instead he acts as a gatekeeper of sorts for other up and comers to test themselves and see if they are indeed ready. That’s exactly the position Concrete finds himself in, as a win against Sparrow would get him back on the path of winning and make him somebody who cannot be ignored in the division! Sparrow has wonderful wrestling and a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu, but not much so speak of in the standup game. His game is very straightforward…take you down, and then work a combined attack of sub or pound, with attacks coming from both angles at any given time! The challenge for Concrete will be very clear and, well, simple. Simple as in the concept is simple, follow-through is up for debate. He will want to take advantage of his respectable boxing and wonderful Muay Thai skills to keep this fight on the feet, control it in the clinch when he can, get the knockout or finish if possible. And if not, score enough points in the meantime to get the decision and hold Sparrow off if taken to the ground to prevent being finished instead. Donkey, what are you thinking…? Donkey’s Pick: Concrete via KO (Punch) Honestly, I don’t have a really great reason for giving this pick. Both guys will come into this contest by the weekend ready to go most likely with morale and energy covered well. Sparrow is very tough on the ground, and if it gets there, I could be way off on this pick! But, a hunch is telling me that Concrete hands, made of just that, may get the job done in this one while Sparrow is attempting to get the takedown! Suzy Sucker Punch: Just a little addition here guys. I’m hearing from our front office that as of now, this is Sparrows last fight on his contract. There has been some debate over whether Sparrow will continue on at his age or if he’s looking to hang them up. Or more to the point on that, whether his manager may cut him loose and let him decide what to do from there. Will another manager pick him up? We don’t know. I believe if he is going to fight his last one on the contract this weekend, Hare may be interested in talking to Sparrow’s manager, Roger Smith, about having Sparrow sign a new extension prior to a sacking, if a sacking is going to happen. That would hopefully entice the next manager to give him a shot to continue on here at Sucker Punch! ********* Main Card Bout #3: Welterweight Kribb Furgesson (6-1-0) vs. Red Crow (2-1-1) Alright, we’re just shy of getting into our Main Events of the evening here, Donkey, but quite frankly, on any other given night this fight alone would easily be a Co-Main Event of the evening! So the fans are getting a real treat here, and we’re thrilled with the quality of fights we’re able to give them for this upcoming card! And again, Donkey, two awesomely prepared guys, fully ready to go out there and give it their all! Dang, so happy with these guys overall tonight my man! This one has a ton on the line for both of these warriors, Donkey! It sets the stage for our next Top Contender, with the winner of this battle eventually getting a title shot against the winner of Bass/Costune! Red Crow is 2-0-1 since joining us here at Sucker Punch. Think about that, he’s not lost a fight at Sucker Punch, and the only one he didn’t win was a majority draw against the beast known as Igor Vovchanchyn! There is no secret to Crow’s approach. That is, unless he suddenly throws a curveball to us, but short of that what you’re going to have to deal with is a man who will take you down, ground and pound you until you’re will to survive wanes, and then either knock your ass out, have you tap out from strikes or have the ref jump in to save your sorry, dizzy, confused ass from more abuse! It’s pretty straightforward I think, right Donkey? Now, the man who will want to avoid having any of that grounding, pounding, dizzy assed action being put on him in this fight is none other than Kribb Furgesson. Kribb is 6-1 in his career, and although making his Sucker Punch debut, finding an opponent willing to risk hide and hair against him has been tough. As such, anybody taking him on deserves to go to the top of the list, and if he can take out the one guy willing to step up, well, then, good luck to you for the title and happy travels my friend! Furgesson has superb boxing skills, but his real bread and butter is his wonderful wrestling combined with a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu! All six of his wins have come via submission…so clearly, we’re going to deal with a ground contest in this one for Top Contender! So, big questions Donkey…who can win on the ground here…? Donkey’s Pick: Furgesson via Submission (Kimura) Undoubtedly this one goes to the ground unless Furgesson suddenly decides to use his boxing skills to stay where Crow is entirely uncomfortable, on the feet. However, knowing this probably goes to the ground anyway at some point, my guess is that Furgesson will go there, and try to establish position on top, taking away the advantage Crow has with his ground and pound game. Crow on the other hand, if he can establish position, could have a nice shot at brutalizing Furgesson on the ground, but he has to watch out for the subs from the bottom…which is easier said than done! ********* Co-Main Event Welterweight Bout Diego Diaz (7-3-0) vs. Kahdi Mandinos (4-2-0) Come this weekend, both of these kids in the Co-Main Event with likely be topped off and fully ready to go! This one is going to get interesting, Donkey…because Mandinos is listed as having a significant advantage in boxing and Muay Thai. But then, you go and have a closer look… and realize that Mandinos has woeful boxing and abysmal Muay Thai! Well, that would be because Diaz has useless in both! Haha, so…um, I think this one’s going to the ground perhaps, Donkey? Mandinos has superb wrestling and a purple belt in Jiu Jitsu. He’s used those skills to secure three submissions in a row here at Sucker Punch, which only his first fight here with us being a loss due to TKO to Sean MacCarthy in the first round of the Welterweight Sorter Series. He also has another submission from right before joining us from a QFC fight. Diaz has remarkable wrestling…and a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu. So apparently this is a situation where he says, “Ok, I see your superb wrestling and purple belt, and I raise you remarkable and a brown belt! He also has won his last three fights via submission…actually, five of his last six fights! Oh, wait, no…seven of his last nine fights…all via submission! His last fight was here at Sucker Punch against Rayne Dame, a quick and easy armbar in the first round. Now, before that, he was in the Alliance World Championships competing for Yabai, so he was going up against some top notch opposition from the other alliances out there. And still winning. It’s interesting to note though, and this is a possible positive for Mandinos, that he lost a fight four back to Jesse Ristinen in the AWC…via submission! So he can be taken out the same way he takes em out…so live by the sword, die by the sword here! Donkey, you have a call here…? Donkey’s Pick: Diaz via Submission (Armbar) Diaz loves his armbar Hare…and Mandinos is the taller, lankier fighter here in this contest. Given that, I’m betting that an arm gets left hanging out there at some point and Diaz latches on to it. If Mandinos can pull off the victory in this one though, he’s going to be labeled one bad ass MF’er on the ground and have himself in line as a top contender sooner rather than later! If Diaz wins, the same can be said for him. These two are nothing short of impressive with their skills! ********* Main Event Welterweight Championship Bout Ronnie Bass (6-0-0) vs. DJ Costune (4-1-0) And here we go with the Main Event, Donkey! In a card topped off with great fights, this one could be the most exciting of the entire eveing, as it’s for the Welterweight Championship and features two incredibly talented, and prepared I might add, young combatants! Ronnie Bass is the “unofficial” champion of the division after having won the Welterweight Sucker Punch Sorter Series tournament. He never got to fight the Finals bout in that tournament because Malachi Routerhead’s manager had some issues arise and was away for a bit. Since then, Costune has ousted John Fuller, another talented individual in the division who was the other semi-finalist to not advance to the Finals, earning Costune the chance for a rematch with Ronnie Bass less than two months after the last fight between the two! The first fight between these two saw a first round finish at just over three minutes in the round. Bass took the fight into the clinch repeatedly and used it to soften up Costune before finally taking him out with a huge right hand shot that some are saying may not have landed if Costune hadn’t gotten distracted and looked to the clock. Granted, he was in a bit of trouble as Bass had rocked him just moments before and he was probably wondering if a bell could save him…so you could argue that this one was going to be ended regardless. But hey, we’re nothing if not fans of a little controversy, eh Donkey? Throughout that fight, Costune was able to land a couple shots here and there when separated, including a few combos. But even when boxing Bass was comfortably landing a solid percentage of head shots and really, the big difference as we mentioned was his ability to get into or out of the clinch at will, with Costune unable to do much in the clinch offensively and apparently unable to defend effectively enough as well. You have to figure that in the past two months, he’s probably worked on his clinchwork and defensive grappling, perhaps even some physical strength knowing that he’d need it if a rematch occurred down the line! As it stands now, it appears that both Bass and Costune have respectable boxing and wrestling. The difference is that Bass still has a considerable advantage in the clinch. However, it is interesting to note that Costune has a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu…and frankly Donkey, I don’t recall if he had that last time these two met or not? If he didn’t…could he have been working the ground game since then thinking of taking this to the ground and perhaps capitalizing on Bass only holding a white belt? Donkey, I’m ready for a great one, and to see how this one might go differently…you…? Donkey’s Pick: Bass via TKO (Strikes) Hare, I’m going to have to actually see Costune be able to avoid and escape the clinch without taking damage before I can put my hat in his corner in a fight against Bass. That’s no shot at Costune’s abilities, he’s a talented fighter, but he was dominated in the clinch last time around and that advantage appears to still be there for Bass. It is interesting what you note about the Jiu Jitsu skills…but Costune has to be able to physically get it to the ground if he intends to use that angle. And that requires coming in close…something that may prove very dangerous! Suzy had an opportunity to spend some time speaking with DJ Costune in the lead-up to this weekend… Suzy Sucker Punch: DJ, thanks for taking a few minutes of your valuable time this week to speak with us! DJ Costune: Hey Suzy. Lookin’ beautiful as ever. Suzy Sucker Punch, blushing…: DJ, this fight is a massive one for you, a chance to not only go for the title, but perhaps even more importantly, a chance at redemption after having lost what turned out to be the Finals essentially of the Sorter Series tournament. The man who stands across from you in the cage later this week is none other than Ronnie Bass. Your thoughts on facing him a second time in such a short period? DJ Costune: Let me tell you something that is probably already known. Ronnie Bass is a punk bitch. I heard this piece of shit was mad because he had to face me again. Now why is that Suzy? Suzy Sucker Punch: Well, I don’t know that I’d heard he was mad about it…actually he seemed a bit confident going in, but if he is angry, why do you think that might be DJ? DJ Costune: Because he knows I'm going to knock his head clean the f**k off and there's nothing anyone can do to stop the inevitable from happening! DJ shoots a quick kiss on Suzy’s cheek as he walks out…then turns around at the last second... DJ Costune: Oh and one more thing.... Piss off with your predictions Donkey! You creepy little twat! You can go home to your mum's basement and shove your thoughts right up your.... Matthew White covers Costune's mouth and shuffles his fighter out to keep him from being fined... Suzy Sucker Punch: Wow…well…um, guys, certainly DJ doesn’t seem to lack any confidence for this fight! Um, and Donkey…uh, sorry about that? Donkey Dan: Oh, no worries there Suzy! We’ll see who has the last laugh! Mr. White may be worried about his fighter getting fined…but he should be more concerned about him getting fined TWICE after I speak with Hare…once for conduct unbecoming a fighter in the Sucker Punch org…and the second time for sexual harassment with that kiss! Hare Rumpler steps in… Hare Rumpler: Conduct unbecoming a fighter here, Donkey? Seriously? Um, did you not see that our logo literally says “Cockshot Experts Apply Within!”? I’m not sure that there is a standard of conduct to break around here really, is there? You’ve seen me get all excited when somebody takes a shot to the dingle-dangle during a fight man, it’s not my problem if you just took a verbal to the jewels bud! And it’s also not my fault that you keep picking against DJ, I’d give you a literal cockshot too if you kept doing that to me! LOL!!! As for the harassment claims, well, Suzy would have to stop sitting over there blushing and actually report it for our HR department to start any investigation into that…so until then…I guess you and your bunched up panties are just going to have to deal, Donkey! ********* So there we have it Sucker Punch fans! Big stuff with an absolutely ridiculous card on hand for all of us this weekend! We’re going to have a sold out Bondi Bonanza on our hands and that place is sure to have all of Sydney rocking with the energy these fighters, and our fans, generate in that place! Can’t wait, this is going to be one to talk about afterward! Now get that scowl off you face Donkey, and quit mumbling about DJ Costune, he’s taking up too much space in your head man! Haha! Till then…remember… Keep it cheap and dirty…Sucker Punch Pro Series 355k+ style!
