Ground engine sucks... Lets boost grapplers, when those are already better than strikers.. :winner:

There is my "grappler".. How he can be bad, if he has same striking secondaries as striker?? And hes only 2,6k total skills.

 

I understand that ground engine sucks,but if we do these grappler boosts we need to give something to strikers too..

 

Make escapes a lot more useful and escaping from top position should be easy even without escapes..

That would also allow "grapplers" to leave ground if they dont want to spent whole fight in ground..

 

 

 

 

Sadly Most fighters have nearly the same skills and around the same 5 hiddens but this is mostly due to the community's competitive nature. The ground game only aided that. This is why people keep asking for a lower skill cap but people say that having fighters with the same skills minus escapes, knees and elbows and shifting 50 or 60 from subs or gnp.

 

I think everybody needs to relax a little, there hasn't been any new input added to a good way to fix stand-ups in days and badgering the shit out of Mike because you want immediate gratification isn't going to get things done any faster. You're just making yourself look like petulant children

 

I was just hoping we could band-aid the main complaint until we find the real addition later, however i am encouraged that so many people even care. This is an internet game, ive never discussed a game engine change anywhere else...either i dont care about what people discuss on other games ive played or i just lose interest and quit. So many people commenting is a tribute to mike and how addicting this game really is.

Doesn't boosting the effects of escape help boost strikers more than grapplers though?

I sure hope we do not go from anti grapple to pro grapple! All that is basically needed is what most people already posted anyway, less energy loss on takedowns and more effective on the ground (finishes), less stand ups but the escapes becoming more of a factor.

The thread has become a quite long one so I tried to search if it's been mentioned but I saw none of it. I'm thinking about the strikes from bottom. It's something I believe is completely lacking and also an important part of the ground game. You see it constantly in real life how fighters use ground strikes, elbows etc to help improve their position and escape. Like when some one is trying to get right back up of a takedown, you might see them throwing away 5-10 quick, soft shots, but to help disrupt the fighter trying to take them down. Some times it's effective and some times not. But in tycoon. does anyone use strikes from bottom? at all?. Maybe that is something that needs to be tweaked in aswell. Make them abit more effective for trying to advance position and escape?

I think they killed the ground game. If I am facing a ground fighter, I know automatically that I can set those sliders to a high amount of take downs and because I game planned for it, I won't get taken down as much (at least that's how I understand it). That is not realistic either. In real life if a fighter is a better wrestler than you, no matter how much you game plan for takedown defense, 9-10 times your most likely getting taken down.

 

I predicted a high amount of takedowns in this fight and as you can see it didnt help... He also didnt tire out like Id hoped with all his missed gnp so Im not convinced that the prediction sliders kill the ground game. Its not 100% your going to stop what you predict. Its more of an awareness Id think. And I still like it :yes:

9 times out of 10 a wrestler will NOT take you down because they are a better wrestler. Demetrious Johnson would defeat any Flyweight wrestler in the world in an MMA fight.

 

Wrestling isn't "taking the opponent down". This is mixed martial arts. Unless you're in your first fights and your opponent's MMA knowledge is questionable, a UFC wrestler will very rarely have the ability to take anyone down at will just because he knows wrestling. It all starts with the striking. It UFC calibre wrestlers don't know how to strike, they won't get their opponent to drop out of "takedown defence mode". If you're a wrestler and you know your opponent is going to be fully expecting the takedown...punch him in the face.

Atunes has lost 1 point in last 2 weeks from 2657, he is 23 or just 24. Started de popps.

 

That is disgusting.

 

Vlad Kersikov has lost 7 points over the past 10 weeks. He is 32, i can live with that and i assume it will go up to perhaps x3 so he will lose 24 points over the next 10 weeks, and then so on and so forth. Fighters who start to depop at any less than that is horrible imo. You spend a year and a half real life training a fighter to get to his peak (around the age of 24-25) to watch him depop to irrelevance within 9 months? Something has to be done about shit like that, it puts me off creating any fighters and i just leech off the free agency.

I have fighter at 30 years. He depop because I wasn't around for like 3 months or so, and now I've trained the skills he depoped, and they poped up again. It seems to me pretty clear that a fighter even if he's 23 or 24 or younger will be a bit rusty in an areea he didn't prepare at all for like 1 year (3 months real life = 1 year and 1 month in the game - or close to that number)

but here I am, posting it

may be in the fights either 3 rounds or 5 rounds, there should be the ability to change the game plan for different rounds ... ???

That idea has been around for at least the last 3 years. While there are some merits to it, it is really off topic for this thread which is more about balancing some specific issues.

Me too, but for a far different reason. I'm at the point where I know the engine is so bad now that I don't really care if I win or lose. Kickboxing tycoon is no fun at all. Update couldnt come fast enough.

same here. There's really not much chance of winning fights with clinchers and grapplers at this point. I think its mostly the predict feature that has nerfed those two aspects. It's so easy to predict and stop the phase changes and get the energy advantage after a few minutes. Then "adapt" kicks in and you cruise to an easy win. I've seen many fights lately where a grappler/clincher is doing well standing for the first round then gets blown apart after the first couple TD's fail and the "adapt" kicks in.

I'm right w/ you dude, I just don't really even care at this point & have just accepted my fate lol. 90% of the time I don't even change my sliders anymore. Might set a guy from 5% TD to 0% if I see it's a fight I want no part of the ground game or something minor like that but for the most part I don't even bother. My guy in EPL has fought on the same sliders since the fight against Yossarian & I have 0 intentions on changing him at all during the tournament. The only changes I think I made on him was when I fought Jamison I took my clinch off so he couldn't pull guard on me (bc I didn't want to be on top of a sub specialist)
