BELLICOSE 2021
2021 Year Recap

BELLICOSE part I: Early Days

On the 28th of May, 2021 Manager Dee Dee held his first event for his fight promotion, New York Champions League, which was often shortened to NYCL. On that card some notable names made their professional fighting debut, those of the likes of former Light Heavyweight Champion Ike Wellstone, Current Middleweight Champion Dean Howard, and former Bantamweight Champion and top contender Sean Dash. Six knockouts, one submission, and three decisions were the results of the fights an altogether exciting show for the 266 fans in attendance at the Micro Arena.

The popularity of this new found org soared and with the newly acquired recruiter Scott Bands the 375 Identification Restricted organization saw multiple young fighters fill the roster with immediacy. The two would later have a falling out and Scott would go his own way where as Dee Dee would continue to run the fight promotion. Hector himself had a fighter at NYCL who was at one time a champion and heard through the grapevine there was a sort of interest in selling the org. Hector jumped at the chance to purchase it with the funds he obtained from his writing and massive amounts of throwing of fights. The latter is a joke, Hector just sucks at this game.

NYCL officially changed hands on the first of September and was given to Hector to run after a 2 Million dollar purchase. The roster with over two hundred fighters changed hands and the first order of business was renegotiating the contracts with the fighters. Across the board there were contracts that were given to fighters that were quite unreasonable and after sending mass mails and private messages most of the managers and fighters quickly agreed to lessen their wage in order to help NYCL thrive. The new contracts were considerably lower than the 10 thousand dollar wages they were used to but most the managers had no problem taking a cut for the young org.

The second stage of the reinvention was that of rebranding. From names like Warlords to MOB, Hector, Kento, Thibs, and Scottie tried to come up with a name that seemed as though it would be worthwhile. Unfortunately, Warlords sounded like a warlocks to one of the four so that was cast aside. MOB did not fit so that too was tossed away. The idea of keeping NYCL lingered but that was something that Hector felt had to be removed, the idea of NYCL kept us in New York and he did not want to be confused with Champions League. Finally, after much google work, a word emerged that was Latin for demonstrating a willingness to fight: BELLICOSE. Beginning the month of October the name would officially change to that.

On September 25th, the promotion now known as Bellicose, held its last event titled NYCL. Held at the Empire Indoor Arena, a 14,000 seated place some of the most popular names in Bellicose put on a show that is still spoken of today. Samuel Draven, the now inactive welterweight, defended his crown where Arnaud Coleman would put his opponent out in 12 seconds, and of course, current champion Date Bayo, excited the fans with his first round knockout victory. This event would also mark the last day with Scottie as he went to move on and take over Catchweight Wrestling from Chuck where he would prove to be a great org owner himself.

Then, something shocking happened. On the 27th of September the fighting promotion previously known as Big Money Fights, the only other 375 org in the business, had finally collapsed. After spending copious amounts of money to get some top talent in their org the org finally caved and the roster was discarded by the way side. With a heads up of what had happened, Hector rushed into send contracts to the top contenders of BMF as well as their former Champions. Through that we were able to acquire the likes of Kai Tokugawa, Tim Horton, Everett Covington, Mickey Backman, Jaco Priest, and Joshi Dell.

BELLICOSE part II: The Emergence of

On the Second of October 2021 the promotion formerly known as NYCL would emerge now known as Bellicose. Just over 125 days since the beginning of the fight promotion everything had changed from Leadership, Contracts, and even the style new style of monthly matchups. Bellicose would regularly offer free avatars, trivia prizes, and tried to upkeep with the rankings.

The ratings for Bellicose began to soar. With manager satisfaction ratings jumping to over 90% it appeared that most managers were pleasantly pleased with this organization and felt that the matchmaking was fair, the promotion was vibrant, and the leadership cared about the future of their fighter. With the freedom to decline fights always present Bellicose sought to provide Managers with a carefree style of managing where they could ensure the very best path for their fighter.

Bellicose brass decided that Halloween weekend would be the staple of the show, a day that celebrates the birth of Hectors own child, he would have both the Hall of Fame as well as many prizes to be given out that week. The triple header saw over thirty matchups, sixty fighters compete in what was an action packed weekend. Managers who have helped grow the Bellicose Org like Dee Dee, Scott Bands, and K-Britt were all inducted into the Hall of Fame. Despite this phenomenal weekend, the profits of this org were not rolling in and Bellicose continued to suffer financially.

Bellicose events were aimed at keeping tickets low and filling the stadiums. After not turning a profit for two months despite having decent ratings, Bellicose owner Hector knew that something had to change or he would have to surrender his desire of operating an organization. After lengthy discussions with the brass at multiple higher up orgs, he learned that people will pay whatever price in this world to watch fights so one may as well sell your tickets at a premium level. Within two events Bellicose began to turn a profit so large that they knew things were going to change only for the better.

By December 21st, Just days before Christmas, Bellicose had the ability to offer fighters and managers new contracts that would adequately represent both the current level their fighter is at and honor them for their bellicose nature in the cage. Bellicose now sits comfortably with a 95% rating with over 65 voters and continues to strive to provide fighters and their fans with fair matchups that will enhance the career of their fighter. With the end of the year nominations Bellicose was nominated as restricted ID org of the year and the Bellicose Brass was nominated as CEO of the year.

BELLICOSE part III: The Champions

Throughout the year of 2021 Bellicose saw the rise and fall of many champions. Here is a short glimpse into what occurred since May.

135lbs - Green Jones became the first champion and made a successful title defense twenty two days later. He would suffer a loss surrendering the belt to Sean Dash in a seventeen second knockout. Dash would go on to lose to Jerry Goon who has been dominant with one title defnese and makes his next title defense against the Boogeyman of the Bantamweights Boris Bors on 12/31.

145lbs - Before capturing bantamweight Gold, Jerry Goon was the featherweight champion. He lost the title to Patrick Bateman who went on to lose his crown to Mateo Daverio. Daverio has defended the belt twice now and is anxiously awaiting a top contender to arise.

155lbs- Shane Foster stole the Bellicose championship and many hearts when he went on to win and made one successful title defense. He lost unfortunately to Ispa Perkele who was later stripped due to not being a true 375 fighter. Kabore vs Bonon than fought for the vacant title which many were outraged as they held no prior experience in Bellicose. Datte Bayo then came took the belt and made a successful title defense. He declined to fight the number one contender than after several days finally agreed to face him under new management. Bayo fights on 1/1 against the ever dangerous, Everett Covington!

170lbs- When one things of Welterweight Goat of Bellicose the name Samuel Draven immediately pops up. A manager who was likely a multi would only seem to log on during fight week and somehow put on a spectacular show and keep the belt. Draven made two successful title defense until succumbing to the overwhelming nature of Odimabesser. Odimabesser now looks to take on former middleweight challenger Rock Romero for his second defense on the 15th of January!

185lbs - Dean Howard. Dean Howard. Dean Howard. Dean Howard. Dean Howard. After winning the belt he defended it four times and is a beloved fan favorite. Dean Howard, the Bellicose record holder looks to make his fifth title defense in early January. The fight is under offer but Dean has already accepted.

205lbs - Perhaps one of the more exciting divisions in Bellicose is none other than the infamous Light Heavyweight Division. After Big Hittah won it in July he suffered a brutal defeat to the legendary Ike Wellstone who made two successful title defenses himself. Then, former BMF champion Kai Tokugawa shocked the world by knocking out an exhausted Ike and took the belt. Now Kai takes on Clayton Daniels on 1/8 a training partner of Ike Wellstone and a fighter who is on a six fight win streak.

265lbs - After Lars Bishop won the title back in July he attempted then decided it was time for him to move up in weight. The Heavyweight fighter had no self-discipline and could not stop eating so the championship was placed up for grabs. Prokop Pustik emerged as the top contender for the title where he defeated Jones then went on to make two great defenses himself. His next fight will be on 1/2 where he takes on the fomer BMF Champion, the Snowstorm Krigor Orlov!

265+ - The Super Heavyweights a division that was almost closed down until fighters and managers informed Bellicose staff they loved it, has seen just two champions. After Bishop won the SHW Title he continued on until he just was forced into retirement. The fighter who could not stop eating now ways a whopping 2,000lbs and can hardly get out of bed. So the SHW Title took place between Priest and Nagasaki. Priest took the title and now looks to make his second defense against Murska Mfer on 1/1 a knockout artist that only knows aggression.

BELLICOSE part IV: The Future

The seven month fight promotion started the Summer of 2021 off with a shockwave of interest. Dee Dee had impeccable insight to see the need for a 375 ID org and kept it running like a well oiled machine. A majority of the 375 fighters at Bellicose have resigned with the fight promotion to start off the 2022 year with a bang. Of course, some will be moving on to bigger organizations ran by far more talented people and hopefully will do exceedingly well, but where does this leave Bellicose?

The eyes of the future are bright for our 250 plus roster. Our rating has ensured our managers want us to keep pressing forward. So like a young mike tyson we will advance and take control of the center of the ring. We will constantly look for new fighters and aim to keep our current fighters. We will never poach another organizations talent but if an organization is up for negotiations or trades you can imagine we will see new blood enter the cage.

The use of BUZZ will no doubt play a major role in the future of Bellicose where we will look to engage with managers and fighters on a regular basis. Trivia and prizes will be given out through this social media in an attempt to generate more excitement about this promotion and its upcoming fight cards.

Bellicose will hit its 100th event near the same day it was created, perhaps a month before. This will be the biggest event marked by a spectacle unseen like ever before in Bellicose. The future is bright for the young org that has captured hearts and with full confidence we believe that Bellicose will take 2022 by storm.

Gojo, Reyes, Wellstone, even Goggins even though he is #9 somehow he’s considered better than me and he ain’t even done shit here. Anybody rated better than me can get this work. Set it up boss.”

THE BOOGEYMEN

A closer look at the men avoided in Bellicose

I can confirm that both Hank McCoy and Jake Paul are two of the most avoided fighters.

The record to the most avoided fighter would undeniably go to Boris Bors. The 135lbs phenom fights this weekend against the most dangerous Bantamweight Champion we have ever seen in Bellicose in Jerry Goon! The Boogeyman Bors vs Goon is a fight that Goon called for as he knew the immense stressed placed under Bellicose brass in finding him a matchup.

Hank McCoy was not always avoided however, upon some of his most recent performances when people realized how talented this guy truly was it became quite evident that no one wants this guy. How can you be upset with them? I wouldn't either. It was not until Cyborg Reyes, a top talented LHW called McCoy out. "I don't deserve to fight for the title if I don't fight the very best." This guy exemplifies Martial Arts.

Jake Paul would undeniably hold the record for most fights denied in a single day but is definitely in the top tier fighters who people look to stray away from. The hard-hitting man from Ohio has only been stopped once against the current champion and looks to avenge that loss. After being avoided several times, Adam East stepped up and challenged the hard hitter. East, who himself is known as one of the most feared strikers in the division, believes he has the ability to shock the world and put Paul out cold.

Fighters like Jerry Goon, Cyborg Reyes, and Adam East are what fans love about martial arts. They step up to the challenge and know they will go out on their shield and while others tuck and run, these guys step into the fire. Literally, MMA was born out of guys like this.

"Unranked? So you are illiterate and can't even understand pictures. This should be easier than I thought with a dumbass like you trying to step in the ring. Get your weight up before coming to me. You are an easy knockout. You too tall to be fighting little kids. Eat some food and grow some more.
