I don't know if I am excited or horrified yet. At least fights are Bi-weekly and not Bi-daily.

New tournament: Super Massacre.  2 fights/day!  1 month long.  60 fights.  18 year old creation.  Guys will be seasoned vets ready to retire by 19.

LEVEL SUMMIT SERIES - Grappling Level Round 1 Highlights

Tokyo, Japan

FOTN - Lysander Birdwhistle vs Hung Young Wang

Birdwhistle and Wang earned themselves a $5000 bonus for Fight of the Night in this action-packed matchup. Both men came to the party with bad intentions and it was clear from the onset that neither were interested in earning a safe win in their tournament debut. Wang secured the initial takedown after a brief struggle and established himself as the more aggressive man, relentlessly attacking the legs of Birdwhistle and almost securing the lock on multiple occassions. it was all business for Birdwhistle who remained calm under pressure, worked for positioning and threatened submissions on different fronts. A momentary lapse in Wang’s offensive pressure opened the door for his opponent and Birdwhistle slapped on a quick guillotine, forcing the tap and earning himself 3pts for the night.

SOTN - Jone White vs Michel Robillard

This OTN award was a toss up as it could have easily gone to the winner of the fastest finish on the card instead. Robillard quickly established himself as the aggressor in the matchup and fought aggressively in the clinch to secure the takedown against the better wrestler in Jone White. Robillard was successful in so much that he was finally able to bring the fight to the ground by pulling guard. Unfortunately for him, White immediately dropped for the leg and cranked the ever loving shit out of it for the submission win. White walks out of the ring with $5000 and 3pts while Robillard wheeled himself to the hospital with only his show purse and a big fat donut for points.

FASTEST FIGHT - Young Blood vs Summit Panda

0:42 Round 1

Absolutely clinic put on by Panda in this one, as this fight looked more like a BJJ demonstration than a grappling contest. Clinch, takedown, sub attempt, transition, tapout. Over.

HONOURABLE MENTION - Ted Kona vs Don Rockmuller

The final submission on the night came courteous of the 2 Organizers of the Series. Perrenial underachiever, Jimmy Normal was able to guide Ted Kona to a submission victory over Alfred Winterbottom’s inferior fighter. The verbal tirade that ensued through DM’s were offensive to both Jimmy and his Mother alike. Should Alfred like revenge, he’ll first have to change his losing ways.

This is maximum bullshit. Clearly rigged. Jimmy saw who I was rolling with then quickly cultivated a fighter with the sole intention of defeating my guy in a fix up first round. Well congratulations to you. You may have won this battle, but you will never win the war!

This unjustified anger is pointless - much like Don Rockmuller.

LEVEL SUMMIT SERIES - Grappling Level Round 2 Highlights

Tokyo, Japan

FOTN - Hung Young Wang vs Summit Panda

No points were awarded prior to the finish in this bout between two VERY dangerous competitors. Summit Panda commanded the fastest finish in the 1st round and faced off against an ultra aggressive Hung Young Wang from the Tycoon Judas camp. This was a highly anticipated match up for Level Leadership, who had no doubt it would end with an exciting submission. Neither man wasted any time with Wang immediately engaging and Panda immediately responded by pulling him into guard. A bit of a chess match ensued as Panda sought out loose limbs and a guillotine while Wang controlled positioning and bided his time, waiting for an opening to counter attack. Wang continued his sadistic pursuit of crippling leg locks and was forced to abort his first attempt. Panda, likely not realizing the danger he was facing, tried pushing off with his feet to advance his position. Wang need no invitation and he promptly secured the ankle played it like a bag of Rice Crispies. Wang finally hits the lock he’s been after since Round 1.

SOTN - Jone White vs Rogelio Nunez

0:32 Round 1

If this Leg of the tournament has taught us anything, it should be that one does not simply take Jone White down. In fact, it might be the best play to just circle him for 15 minutes and walk away. For the 2nd match in a row White has made his opponent look foolish after landing takedowns on him.  Securing another speedy submission victory, Jone White looks very much a forerunner to dominate this portion of the tournament already.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Lysander Birdwhistle looks to be another man to keep your eye on, as he executes his 2nd submission victory, this time over Michel Robillard who remains pointless so far. In Robillard’s defense, he does fight out of the Cope T Camp, which is more widely known for delivering beatdowns over their grappling prowess. Again, this is a marathon tournament with plenty of opportunity to put hands on people - I’m not even close to counting Robillard out just yet.

Don Rockmuller has a sexy name and it would look good on a poster. Unfortunately for him, Jimmy Normal is lazy as fuck and isn’t dong posters (no talent bum) and there hasn’t been anything notable about him to this point otherwise. Thankfully for Don, we’ve got lots of fighting in front of us, and his manager Albert has been known to dominate when he hits his stride. Only time will tell it the Winterbottom camp can turn Rockmuller’s fortune around.

Suita, Blood and Lima are the only other entrants still in search of their first points, while Jack Brittle has picked up his first 2pts by keeping Young Blood down.

LEVEL SUMMIT SERIES - Grappling Level Round 2 Highlights

Tokyo, Japan

FOTN - Jacek Siuta vs Caique Lima

This was a fight to climb out of the basement and this would have been an absolute nail biter had it gone the distance. Neither man would put forth a pedestrian effort in this match and found themselves neck and neck on points. Siuta, however, came with the more active game plan and this created more opportunities for the finish. That is what ultimately sealed the deal as the previously pointless Siuta secured a RNC at the 12:40 mark to walk away with 3 points.

SOTN - Lysander Birdwhistle vs Rogelio Numez

LEVEL brass was forced to make another difficult decision for awarding the SOTN. Some pointed to the fastest win on the night as a shoe-in for the prize which would have given Jone White an OTN for 3 fights in a row. Enter Lysander Birdwhislte. This standout out from the Bob Slay camp was instead recognized for his complete dismantling of Rogelio Nunez and clinching a stellar arm triangle submission. This was Birdwhislte’s 3rd straight dominant finish in the tournament.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

All eyes have to be on the eventual meeting of Birdwhistle and White. Birdwhistle snatched the SOTN award and stopped White’s bonus streak tonight. White again makes another opponent pay for taking him down. Both fighters are battling for top spot in the grappling rounds, with only time in the ring keeping White at the top. If both can continue their string of 3pt victories, their impending match may be the fight of the tournament. Still plenty of obstacles in their way so it’s too early for implications, but it will still be a tilt everyone should look forward to.

To date, nobody has solved the smothering top game of Super Macho Man. He has stuck to every opponent like glue so far, offering very little in the way of opportunity. The Mac Little camp clearly has a winning formula, as their ultra handsome fighter quietly racks up points.

Don Rockmuller, pointless in the first 2 rounds, has had enough of the shit talk. The struggling Winterbottom man came out and shocked onlookers by edging out the solid Frank Brown on points, and handing him his first taste of defeat at the Series. If Rockmuller can build on this success, LEVEL brass may be forced to put him on a poster.

LEVEL SUMMIT SERIES - Grappling Level Round 4 Highlights

Tokyo, Japan

FOTN - Frank Brown vs Super Macho Man

Frank Brown has solved the mystery of Super Decision Man! Mac Little has frustrated all comers thus far with his smothering top game; it hasn’t ever been pretty but it got the job done. PJ Brown on the other hand was coming in fresh off of his first loss looking to regain momentum after being embarrassed by tournament lump, Don Rockmuller. This fight was more competitive than it looked on paper, in the same way that my ADHD competes with my eyes when reading decision fights. Implications for Group A made this FOTN.

SOTN - Hung Young Wang

Jack Brittle found out what it’s like to have Wang all up in his face and ultimately what it feels like to be choked by a Wang. Humbling experience no doubt.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

For the love of God, someone please tell Lima and Young Blood that the tournament started 4 weeks ago. Congrats to Robillard for distancing himself from The Donut Gang.

Birdwhistle continues his streak of finishes, however his toughest opponent to date was in his first fight against Tycoon Judas. In all fairness Bob Slay! handled Wang well in that match and not a bad thing can be said about his technique thus far.

The only thing Chukwuma hates more than winning is losing a decision. Unfortunately for his record, he is consistent. Here’s to hoping he’ll be a punchy bugger in the next rounds.

Jone White submits another victim in one of his toughest tests to date against Summit Panda. Jimmy is sick of paying him bonus money and to drive the point home, absolutely snubs the standout from the Blake White camp.

Interesting Tournament so far, but looking at the next round I think Jone White may well be wishing he handled Wang earlier on in the competition as I think dealing with a now hardened Wang will prove to be his stiffest challenge by a very long way.

In my opinion Wang is very possibly the biggest danger in the Grappling phase, he gave me loads of trouble and I had to wait for a small mistake to have a chance, and I had to do that fighting off an incredibly aggressive leglock game.

Jone has been fast but that speed may be his achilles heel - literally, as I think if Wang gets hold of a leg he's taking one of Jone's ankles home with him as a souvenir, but he can't only prepare for that, Wang has expanded his toolbox significantly so Jone will need to be careful on all fronts.

Jack Brittle shouldn't be a tough test for me, but I'm not going to be complacent, I will approach him with the same respect as all my other opponents & prepare accordingly, nobody likes surprises in this game.

See you soon Jack.

LEVEL SUMMIT SERIES - Grappling Level Round 5 Highlights

Tokyo, Japan

FOTN - Jone White vs Jack Brittle

Jone White, once again has reached into my pocket and pulled out another 5k. Jimmy is pissed. I am however quite pleased to hand over the other half of the FOTN honours to Jack Brittle. By all accounts, on paper, this shoulda woulda coulda been an easy win for White. He did what he does and went for the kill here, but Mr. Brittle wasn’t so eager to take this L. Although he spent much of the match defending, Jack proved to be a slippery customer and had some finishing attempts of his own. White eventually secured the submission, but had to work for it against a game fighter. Hats off to a surprisingly entertaining bout.

SOTN - Lysander Birdwhistle

Honestly, I’m starting to feel like the head of a welfare state. Bob Slay’s little minion, Lysander Birdwhistle is at the front of the line once again with his hand out. In all fairness, this sub specialist works for the money and pulls out another excellent victory.

HONOURABLE MENTIONS

Summit Panda’s record is deceiving at an underwhelming 2-3. Then you realize those losses only come against 3 of the leaders.

Young Blood remains pointless, but it’s clear that the grappling stages were never going to be in his game-plan. I sense some payback will be forthcoming from this man in the next round.

Super Macho Man bounces back from his first loss and tries to mount Lima like a drunken Tinder date. In a spectacular display of whisky dick, he is content with getting to 2nd base and passing the fuck out. Same.

I like PJ Jones very much, but Frank Brown is an asshole. Brown takes the definitive lead at the top of Group A by outclassing Ted Kona in a decision victory. Ted finds the silver lining and counts his blessings…at least he’s not Tinashe Chukwuma.

*edit*
Another man submits to Butch’s Wang.
