Hey, let's be fair to those fine judges, can we?  I mean, they were put in a tough spot! They saw you get rocked by a love-tap to the forehead by a GIRL!

So clearly they thought, "Shit, this guy might as well change his name to Glass Joe...must be this guy in disguise!..."

I think it's safe to say that that's quite the suspect chin ya got there "dude"...looks like this may have been an all female MMA bout after all!

Temujin Atkiray: Well, you are talking about the third round. And even then, when you say you supposedly rocked me, which is not true, it was more like I got distracted by the big balcony you have there, even then I took you down. In total you hit me 3 more times in the stand up and 4 less on the ground. I took you down 4 times and controlled for god knows how much time.

Anyway, I didn't want to hurt your pretty face that's why I laid on top for that long. My bad, but hopefully I won't have to fight more women...

Hello peeps,

This will be a concise and out-of-game-character post.

As you may have noticed, IRL bitchslapped the shit out of the Bellicose staff this last weekend.
Our writer Jake was injured in an accident so please consider him in your thoughts. He will unfortunately be forced to take a break from the writing for the next while.

Outlaw and I will be picking up writing for a bit with our unique and sometimes NSFW previews and Ron Burgandy may even stop by this week to spice things up for you all. Apologies or you are welcome for that, depending on how you feel about that slanderous lush.

With your permission, we will frame this past weekend as the 1 time we blew it and missed previews etc. and ask your patience and even forgiveness as we go forward.

We’re coming back strong this week with a hell of a weekend of fights booked and ready to go. Stay tuned for a little catch-up love from this last weekend with extra bonuses, results, rankings, and well earned forum slander sent my way for my wrong fight picks ;)

Hello Bellicose!  Welcome to another edition of Ruthless Aggression by way of Sonny Muchacho and myself, Outlaw Hardman!  We are thrilled to be here tonight on the cusp of a true milestone in Bellicose history as this event will be the eve of our 100th event.  But not to overshadow the great line up we have coming tonight as we have a card full of action packed fights that is sure to see some great finishes.  Before we jump into the action, a quick word from our sponsor.

1609628571Brooklyn%20Threads%20Logo%2002.jpg

Brooklyn Threads continues to bring great quality designs to the Bellicose roster as they have from day one.  Great digs at a great price, so there is no excuse for your fighter to be wearing some smelly old shit-stained shorts and a t-shirt that would make a homeless man cringe.  Come get your new clothes at Brooklyn Threads in New York.  Any fighter who is without a sponsor can hit BT up for a sponsorship and maybe a free item or two to wear.  But you need to make the first move, contact Django Waits today to set something up!

And now, let’s jump right into the action.  Sonny, start things off for us with our first fight of the night that will kick start this event.

Andre Koefti (0-1) vs Deez "3rd Leg " Nutzzzzzzz (0-0)

Sonny - Koefti Never really got to show off what he has in his first fight of his career in Bellicose being KO’d in the very first round. He should have a chance to showcase his MT skills and even take advantage of the clinch if he wants to showcase that as well. His opponent, Deez, or nuts or third leg or some other penis related name - will attempt to show off his hard-earned boxing skills in his first fight ever. Both competent managers, but I have to give the edge to the non-penis named fighter simply out of morality and slight age advantage.

Outlaw – You pointed out the main difference in this fight.  We have a classic Boxer vs Muay Thai bout where both guys will look to keep the fight standing, so don’t expect to see this one on the ground unless someone is put there by a vicious shot.  Koefti is the better overall striker as his MT skills are on the same level as Deez’s boxing, but Koefti’s boxing is much better than Deez’s boxing which overall would tend to lead me to believe that he’ll be the more complete fighter while standing.  And that’s just from range…   When you go further as you mentioned the clinch, the Muay Thai will play a huge role in that, but so will the wrestling skills of these two if one were to look to control the clinch and keep the fight there.   Koefti has a slight edge there as well, though just marginally.  When looking at the whole package, I have to agree and give this one to Koefti, though I’m specifically trying to avoid thinking of the penis related names.  I’m sure Sucker Punch would love a guy named “3rd Leg” though.

Outlaw’s Pick – Koefti via KO

Sonny’s Pick – Koefti via low blow to the 3rd leg.

Alonzo "El Loco" Leandro (6-3) vs Average Tycoon Player "The Vitriolic Virgin" (0-3)

Sonny - I see you, Average Tycoon Player. That sleepy 0-3 record but you’ve been working on your ground game.  Alonzo Leandro Is looking for the takedown and only the takedown he has never thrown a punch in nine fights. Player’s competent manager will no doubt have trained his fighter specifically for this and it should pay off. I see the age gapped Tycooner overcoming his deceiving record and grabbing the surprise KO tonight in the very first round.

Outlaw – Man, we’ve got to get a fight between The Vitriolic Virgin and 3rd Leg at some point…  just seems like a match made in heaven… from a pun point of view.   As for this match up, however, I love pulling for the underdog.  And when you base this off of records, both fighters have 3 losses, but Leandro also has six wins to go along with it.  Leandro is on a 3 fight skid after a great 5-0 start.  He didn’t fare so well at CDFC but now he’s in Bellicose and looking for a fresh start.  There’s no secret that he'll be looking to use his wrestling in this fight as it’s his only viable skill, but he’s shown he can do some damage with it by showing a dominant GnP game that will put anyone in a bad way if he can get into mount.   With that being said, look for the Virgin to pop his cherry in this one.  He’s by far the better striker, and his ground skills are respectable and likely enough to put up a defense against the wrestling Leandro will bring to the cage.  If Player can keep this fight standing, or force a few referee stand ups, he'll pick Leandro apart from range or possibly even in the clinch.

Outlaw’s Pick – Player via TKO

Sonny’s Pick – Player via KO

Frank Mir (6-7) Vs Chad Johnson (2-3)

Sonny - As it looks like neither of these fighters will be going into the fight with full energy, I will make a quick pick for Johnson by decision as I refuse to care more about the fighters than their own managers.

Outlaw – Tough words, or tough love?  Johnson still has time to recover and bring his energy level up before this fight which would give him a huge edge towards getting a win here.  However, just like Mir, his morale is in the gutter and wearing the same old dirty ass clothes he’s worn for months isn’t helping.  I’m with you on this one, no point in going into a fight breakdown for managers who don’t care about their fighters.

Outlaw’s Pick – Johnson via TKO

Sonny’s Pick – Johnson via Decision

Amri Mbeki (5-2) vs Hargol Svenkter "The Countsman" (2-1-1)

Sonny - This is such a great freaking matchup I can’t believe it’s being offered to us so low on the card. Both fighters are exceptionally promising, and both come from exceptionally talented managers. Hargol has the boxing advantage and I see him focusing on keeping this fight at range - safely - as Mbeki lobs random takedown attempts throughout the fight so his opponent can never get comfortable. Mbeki scored a knockout in his last fight after only touching his opponent 1 single time so you know he may be feeling the call of the wild and looking for the surprise KO on the feet.

Outlaw – Yeah, this is a very good match and one that our fans truly deserve.  It should be a higher fight on the card, but I’m glad it’s not because the fans will need something to cheer at after watching the previous fight play itself out.  Mbeki is a very well rounded fighter who’s really got no weaknesses.  He’s been working hard on training up his stand up game and his brown belt has already been on display to see what he’s capable of on the ground.  That last KO showed the power this guy rocks and his opponent has to know that Mbeki is a threat from anywhere in that cage.  This will be no easy fight for Svenkter.  On the flip side, Svenkter is an amazing striker and has a wrestling edge over Mbeki to boot.  He will try to keep this fight standing and use his boxing to land that vicious KO punch while avoiding what Mbeki can do on the ground as his purple belt doesn’t hold water against the brown belt of Mbeki.  But my question is, who do you think will have the edge in this one?

Sonny - At the end of the day, I see Hargol Svenkter being able to keep the fight in the feet for the majority of the fight and earning the Decision victory therein.

Outlaw – These two guys going at it and you think it’ll be a decision?  Hmm.. perhaps, if that’s the game plan that Svenkter puts in place.  But both fighters landed a quick KO in their last bouts, so I’m at least rooting for a great finish here.

Outlaw’s Pick – Mbeki via TKO (Only because I wanted to disagree with Sonny for once…)

Sonny’s Pick – Svenkter via Decision

John "Big Daddy Pain" Koromos (2-1) vs James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok (4-1)

Sonny - Hickok comes into the fight with a little swagger and a lot of fanfare. He waves his titanium fists in front of him and his opponents simply crumble. End of story. Four fights in Bellicose, four knockouts. A total of less than two minutes of complete cage time. Are you fucking serious? John Koromos is no slouch either, believe me. And he is the king of swagger, so he knows all about the confidence game. But man, Big Daddy Pain is only going to feel the big pain on Friday. Rumor has it Hickok has daddy issues and Koromos is about to pay big-time.

Outlaw – Well, the one thing I can point out in this fight is that Koromos is the older fighter here who’s got more training time under his belt.  But in the cage, Hickok has had more fights, even if less actual time in the cage.  I won’t go into too much detail in this one as I’m in the corner for Hickok so I’ll also avoid making a prediction here.  But Koromos is well rounded and will need to use all those skills to take on the dangerous striker making his name known across the Bellicose Prospects.  Because Daddy issues or not, Hickok is living up to his nickname of Wild Bill.

Sonny’s Pick - Hickock via KO - Round 1

Sean Dash (9-4) vs Joao Dos Santos (2-2)

Sonny - Classic matchup of pure striker verses pure Ground fighter. Sean Dash will be coming in as he always does look to get his opponent since this with his fists of fury. Santos on the other hand will be coming in only looking for a take down. I promise. Four fights and he has never shown any interest in any other part of the game. This fight should be defined by Santos wrestling advantage and I do believe he will be justified in his spam takedowns and will grab the first-round sub.

Outlaw – Not long ago, Dash was a champion.  He defeated Boris Bors to earn the title, again, sending Bors moving up to the 145 division.  After that, he was dismantled by Pate Hunt and parted ways with his manager.  Since, he’s been picked up by a new manager and has gone to work in the gym.  Will we see the same Dash who can beat anyone on the right night?  The former champion looking the part?  Or will we see the Dash that gets caught off guard and finished by a less experienced opponent.  One thing I 100% agree with is that if this fight goes to the ground, it’s Santos to lose.  He’ll have a significant advantage there and most likely will be submission hunting with full blown aggression.  But, I’ll go the other way here…  Dash knows he needs to avoid the takedown, so I will look for Dash to counter strike those takedowns and try to get the monster KO on a big counter.

Outlaw’s Pick – Dash via TKO

Sonny’s Pick – Santos via Submission

Toppo Damorning (5-2) vs Alexander "Big" Rozhkov (2-0)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Toppo Damorning                                Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Alexander Rozhkov

Sonny - Someone named after a beautiful morning you innately want to root for the guy. But in this fight, I beg you to save your heart and go ahead and call it a good night for Damorning. Rozhkov is a well marinated young stud out of the Dm camp, and he should be bringing the absolute thunder on Saturday! The 20-year-old Rozhkov is a wrestling specialist with some of the nastiest and deadliest ground and pound in the Org.

Outlaw – I don’t know, once you’ve seen a red headed Irish man do a little dance taking his hat off a few too many times by way of gif, you lose the charm of the Top of the Morning meaning.  The thing that troubles me about this fight is that Toppo is coming in with lower morale than he should have.  Especially since he’s riding a 3 fight win streak.  The man’s clothes smell like shit and he can’t get a date because of it.  Maybe someone should take that man shopping.

Sonny - The interesting part about this fight is both fighters will want to take it to the ground and further Alexander will prefer to be on top and Toppo will already prefer to be working off his back. Jesus how confusing. Basically, I would not offer any chance of the wind to Toppo except he just might - MIGHT - grab a triangle sub.

I am playing it safe and betting Rozhkov grinds out a decision victory. Should be a good one!

Outlaw’s Pick – Rozhkov via TKO (Morale is huge, and Rozhkov is ready to go)

Sonny’s Pick – Rozhkov via Decision

Miyata "Dragon Fish" San (6-1) vs Jeryl Christ (5-2)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Miyata San                              Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Jeryl Christ

Sonny - “Dragon Fish” comes in with a strong 6-1 record with all wins coming by devastating KO. He is a GnP specialist and heavily relies on a high percentage of takedown attempts to secure top position where he goes to work. Jeryl Christ will be looking to keep the fight on the feet or even lock down the clinch where he holds a heavy MT advantage. Christ will be giving up a lot of boxing advantage in this one - will he look to utilize more clinch? Not too many options for him here. I think he’ll keep it at range best he can, but the relentless takedowns of Miyata will probably secure him the victory.

Outlaw – Man, what a tough fight to gage.  San looks like a beast, but so does Christ just in very different ways.  San has a more balanced style but as you said, relies heavily on this ground and pound.  In this fight, that would go a long ways as his ground advantage is significant over Christ while his striking skills may lend him a little more time to stay alive while looking for that takedown.  With that said, however, I have to look at the management team of Christ and they have a lot of experience in their corner.  So no doubt he’ll have a game plan to try and avoid those takedowns.

Sonny’s Pick - Miyata Son by Decision.

Outlaw’s Pick – Christ via TKO

Co-Main Event

Balthasar Van Thüringen (6-2) vs "Big " Bowser Bigalow (4-1)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Balthasar Van Thüringen                                   Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Bowser Bigalow

Sonny - Man, oh man, Outlaw is sure treating us to a slobber knocker with this fight! Both Balthasar and Bigalow fight with the same intention - pure violence and looking to end their opponent’s career with each punch thrown. Both have heavy head-hunting styles and don’t seem to care to waste time in the clinch much less hugging on the ground. Neither fighter looks to rely on granite chins to stretch the duration of the fight guaranteeing an early bloodbath for the fans. Bowser Bigalow has a significant 9cm reach advantage and with the similar game plans I think that may make the difference on Saturday. All I know is the fans better take off some layers before this fight because the heat will be brought!

Outlaw – That’s one of the things I looked for in finding fights to fill the top end of this card.  I wanted to see a finish and these two one-loss fighters both bring the heat.  Bigalow did lose to Pustik recently but bounced back by working the judges over in his last bout against Heydrich.  First decision victory of his career, but outside of that he has been a TKO specialist.  Maybe that loss to Pustik made him play a little more cautious game, or maybe he didn’t think he could get to the chin of Heydrich.  But this fight will show us if his chin can withstand BVT’s aggression and if he can keep pace.  BVT is an outstanding boxer who is no slouch in wrestling either.  These guys match up very well and in similar ways, both are coming back from a loss in a win in their last bout.  The difference is that BVT did it via TKO, keeping true to his warrior spirit and still has not had a fight go the distance.  On top of that, it’s worth pointing out that BVT defeated Pustik the fight before Pustik defeated Bigalow.

Outlaw’s Pick – Balthasar Van Thuringen via KO

Sonny says: Bigalow Via KO round 1

Main Event

Krigor Orlov “Snowstorm” (6-2)  vs  Prokop Pustik (6-3)

Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Krigor Orlov                            Mixed Martial Arts Fighter - Prokop Pustik

Sonny - It’s Time! The main event of the evening features Krigor Orlov "Snowstorm" vs Prokop Pustik!

Krigor Orlov hails from Tomsk, Siberia and was born into a family of wrestlers. The dude literally took his first steps in life on a wrestling mat! It warms my heart to see people stay true to the style of their roots and that’s exactly what Orlov does. The man will not pretend to want to box - his opponents always know the takedown is coming and there is simply nothing they can do to stop it. From there he works his Siberian hammers to the face of his opponents as he batters them into another world.

21-year-old Pustik hails from Pisek, Czech Republic and brings in a 6-3 record with all wins coming by knockout. A remarkably similar styled fighter to his opponent, Pustik adds a slight advantage of clinch game but these fighters really want to see this fight get to the ground as soon as possible. Prokop Pustik is also a lifelong wrestler, also prefers ground and pound to BJJ, and lives for the spatter of his opponent’s blood as he pounds the very life out of their souls. Pustik was on a hit and miss run up the rankings ladder the last few months until he was subbed by heavyweight phenom Hunt Mfer in April.

Outlaw – This is going to be a great fight!  Our Co-Main event had two hard hitting strikers going at it and our main event will have two talented grapplers looking to beat the piss out of each other on the ground.  Ying and Yang, ground and pound, down and out.  This could go the distance, but I don’t see that happening.  Orlov is a former champion with some impressive wins on his resume.  Pustik has also had some great fights under his belt and this would surely be a trophy win for him if he were to pull this one off.  Sonny, anything that stands out to you about this fight as our main event?

Sonny - It should be noted that these two men have fought before with Orlov earning the first-round knockout via ground and pound. Although dominating on paper, that fight was simply decided by who made the first move to advance position. One would have to think that Pustik learned his lesson and will go in with higher aggression to put the fight within his control and gameplan this time.

I don’t know about you Outlaw, but I have to pick Orlov to win once more. He was born lightning fast and knows how to utilize this to secure single leg, double legs, and judo style takedowns. I don’t think he will hesitate to go for a repeat GnP win from a quick takedown as in their first fight. Orlov - Pure KO Round 1

Outlaw – Man, I really want to pull for Pustik here.  He’s had a rough go of it lately having lost 3 of his last 4.  But both of these guys are former champions and Orlov is the man who took that belt from Pustik.  I haven’t seen anything to make me think things are any different, so I can’t argue that.  Pustik is going to have to prove something to me, and the rest of the world, in this one to show that he’s bounced back.  But I will say this… A win over Orlov would silence any doubters about his recent stumble and clearly put him back on the right path to work his way back up the rankings.

Sonny’s Pick – Orlov via KO

Outlaw’s Pick – Orlov via TKO

Okay ladies and gentlemen… ah fuck it, who am I kidding.  I don’t think we have any ladies on hand for this one and we sure as hell aren’t gentle around here.  Hope you’ve enjoyed the preview for Bellicose 99 and hope you tune in to watch the fighters in action this weekend!  This event will be a great warm up to Bellicose 100 on tap for Saturday night in Bellicose’s first ever 93k arena show!

"Bartman" Bainbridge

"Alright! So get this folks...it turns out I'm fighting this coming weekend!  You ask, "How could the Bartman not know this already?!?"  Well, let me tell you, my manager, Hare, and the rest of the training squad just informed me!  Apparently, they wanted me to stay focused on "fundamentals" this past camp with no focus on the opponent or anything of that nature.  Just pure training biatches!  Ok, ok, well, I have to admit, it was a solid camp and I'm feeling fitter than ever."

"Now...what that means is...bad, bad shit for this 'Oral' dude I'm about to crush!  Yeah, I dunno what's with that name either mates, but hey, if he has an oral fixation or something I'm more than happy to put my fist squarely in his sad little mouth.  I'm honestly surprised this guy is willing to step into the cage with me peeps...I mean, shit, I'll even tell you what I plan to do to this guy now that I know about our fight that's taking place this coming weekend!  Plain and simple, I'm gonna get in tight, abuse the shit out of his body, basically steal his will to live...as if his soul has been pounded out of him...and then I'm going to give him what he apparently needs when I pop him with this bad boy *holding up right hand* and then his friend *holding up his left hand* right in the kisser to satisfy that fixation of his...and then I'll stand there talking up Triple D and Dee Light about the after party while the ref jumps in and checks to see if he's still alive!"

"You heard it here first folks! There'll definitely be some Beasties playing after this one!  Prepare for the after-party mah peeps!"

After capturing the belt in brutal fashion, I'm now going to have the opportunity to try and defend it for the first time in a few days, exciting! The guy opposite me seems like some kind of freak of nature, so no idea how this one will go, but lets find out.  Perhaps not a freak of nature... more like a science experiment gone wrong.

In a quick side moment during a crazy weekend of Bellicose MMA we caught up to Keywon Reeves and his manager @bjornmma1and managed to catch a glimpse into how he sees his fight going this weekend:

Absolutely phenomenal! Reeves is calling his win with a 7 Piece! And in song no less! Will he bring the soda too?

The hype is growing for this weekend like a teenagers **** before the prom. Stay tuned for more insights and random moments from your favorite fighters as we go 💯into this wild weekend.

Currently in the top 5 - Old man Smif, Bitchass Baby and a bunch of nobodies I haven't even heard about...

Bellicose 100

Welcome to the home of Ruthless Aggression!  Bellicose!  We are on hand for an epic experience as Bellicose has reached a huge milestone with their 100th event!  To celebrate, we’ve lined up a few amazing fights including a couple of title fights and even another fight between a champ and a top contender from another division with no belt on the line.   On top of that, this event will be held in the Tokyo Bowl, a 93.6k arena.  Another first in Bellicose history!  Before we jump into the action, a word from our sponsor.

Fedor Vovchanchyn (2-0)  vs  Gerrad Skolz (1-1)

Outlaw - Our opening fight of the night is between two younger fighters who haven’t seen a lot of cage experience, but have skills for miles!  Fedor “T-101” is a striker with remarkable boxing but absolutely sensational Muay Thai.  A perfect 2-0 with his debut Bellicose win over Lockkey via KO and his last fight over Redman via TKO, both in under a minute.  The man packs a mean punch and will look to bring that deadly striking to this one and pump up the crowd to kick things off by putting it on full display.

Across from him stands Gerrad Skolz.  This guy is a damned fine striker himself, perhaps a slightly better boxer but giving up the edge in Muay Thai a bit to Fedor.  Where he has the significant advantage, however, is on the ground.  Holding a brown belt in BJJ, he’s got skills on the ground that Fedor can’t match.    The only problem with Skolz is that we haven’t seen him put those skills to use yet.  While winning his amateur fight via Decision, he lost his only other fight in CDFC to Ike James by getting tapped out in the 1st round.   Granted, James spammed subs and Skolz never really attempted to do anything on the ground, so it’s still a mystery of rather Skolz’s ground skills are offensive, defensive, or a combination of the two.

Sonny, what’s your take on this initial fight?  I’m torn on who to pick here, honestly.  With Skolz having more tools at his disposal, he would seem to be the logical pick on paper.  But man, his chin is going to be tested by Fedor in this one!

Sonny - First off, I love this fight to open the night as it showcases the high level of expectations for Bellicose fighters. Neither of these guys have been slacking in the gym. Great to see! Now about that fight... T-101 is the slightly more focused striker, skill-wise. Skolz has been brought up as a true MMA fighter with a great skill set across the board. But this may be his undoing in this fight, ironically. Skolz will probably look to grab the clinch as he has previously done, but Fedor has too much in the MT department to make that a viable plan so look for T-101 to grab the 2nd round TKO from range.

Outlaw’s Pick – Vovchanchyn wins via TKO

Sonny Says – Vovchanchyn wins via TKO (round 2)

Adam Orel (8-5)  vs  Bartholomew Bainbridge (2-2)

Outlaw – In our second fight of the night, fans will be treated to another fight that will likely end in a finish.  Orel is the more experienced fighter of the two with 13 fights under his belt already.  This will give him an experience edge, but has taken away from his training a bit also.  He’s a solid boxer with some balanced skills across the board, but boxing and wrestling are his best.  His chin has been suspect as he’s lost 4 of his 5 fights via (T)KO and that has to be a concern from his camp coming into this one facing Bainbridge.  He did recently snap a 2 fight skid by getting a win against Kospas at Bellicose 87, but this will be his greatest test since he faced Hole Reemer back in February.

On the other side of the cage is the Bartman!  Bart Bainbridge has some impressive skills, and an even more impressive arsenal of shit talking to back them up.  He’s pretty much guaranteed a victory in this one and when I analyze the fight, I can’t disagree!  One thing I’ve learned about the Bartman is that he hates the judges.  Just ask him, he’ll tell you the same.  He’s 2-2 with two wins via TKO and both losses from the judges.  I can promise you one thing, he will NOT leave this fight to the judges.  He’s seen Orel’s suspect chin and I promise you this man is looking for a 1st round KO.  Sonny?

Sonny Bainbridge has come out verbally swinging before this fight and I freaking love it! He has promised to pop Orel right in his kisser and I don’t think he’ll fall short in that endeavor. I’ll keep this one simple - Bartholomew "Bartman" Bainbridge will utilize heavy hands and heavier confidence (with a granite cherry on top) to back up his words and gain the first round KO.

Outlaw’s Pick – Bainbridge via 1st round KO

Sonny Says – Bainbridge via 1st round KO

Vedran Mihaljevic (6-4)  vs  Reinhard Tristan Eugen Heydrich (3-1)

Outlaw – Our third bout of the evening is between “The Missile” and “Das blond Biest” and should be an explosively brutal contest!  See what I did there?  Yeah.. okay, so…  The Missile had a promising start to his career but has lost some brutal matchups in his last three.  He’s been run through  gauntlet with Sampson, Mfer, and Van Thuringen all three defeating him recently.  He needs to bounce back in this one, but his opponents aren’t getting any easier as Heydrich is shaping up to be a “Biest” in his own “Reicht”  ha ha.. see what I did there?  Okay, okay, enough puns.  Vedran is a striker with absolutely no desire to go to the ground.  His wrestling and BJJ are lacking and he prefers to stand up and have more of a KT style of fight.  This shouldn’t be much of a problem for him as his opponent loves to throw big punches and his skills match up well for him to keep this fight standing.

Heydrich started off 3-0 before losing his last outing gainst Bigalow via decision.  I’ve been told that loss did not sit well and he hired a private investigator to try to locate the home of two of the judges from that fight.  Fortunately, we were able to intervein and prevent this information from being gathered, so Heydrich will have to take his aggression out on Mihaljevic instead.  Another master mind evil plan comes to fruition.  Now, with sensational boxing and remarkable Muay Thai, Heydrich has no reason to take this fight to the ground.  But do not let that fool you into thinking he’s not able to.  He’s also a wonderful wrestler who holds a brown belt in BJJ, so that’s absolutely an option for him.  He just hasn’t had any need to use those skills to date.  He may change it up and prove me wrong in this fight just to exploit his opponents weakness, but something tells me he’s going to stand and bang and try to beat his opponent at his own game, circling back to that aggression he has form his last loss.

Sonny –  Vedran "The Missile" Mihaljevic has the MT advantage here and well that is about it as far as his gameplan should go. Reinhard Tristan Eugen "Das blonde Biest" Heydrich is a supremely skilled and managed by Zuc Nibali. Zuc definitely knows how to grow a fighter and Reinhard should be ready to come out on fire after his slow marinade in the gym. My man has the granite chin to keep his skills viable through the end of 15 minutes but I expect him to look for the KO tonight as he is bouncing back from a decision loss last month. Vedran has a granite of his own though and will be looking to ruin my pick with a head kick KO I’m sure of it. I’m going to pull back my pic a little and officially guess a war of attrition driving to a decision victory for Mihaljevic.

Outlaw’s Pick – Heydrich via KO

Sonny Says –  Mihalvevic via Decision

Alexander Korolev (5-3)  vs  Anakoni Kai (1-1)

Outlaw - Another great fight on tap as Korolev will square off against Kai.  Korolev is the more experienced fighter but has been inconsistent in his ability to string together wins.  He’s coming off a win against Mason in his last outing, but will have a much tougher opponent in Kai in this one.  He does boast sensational boxing and compliments it with superb muay thai and wrestling skills, but his bread and butter is no doubt his boxing and granite chin.   Interestingly, he has lost one fight to decision but two fights via TKO (cut) which means even though he’s got the chin to avoid being KO’d, he also seems to be a bit of a bleeder.  So that will be something to watch in this one.

Across from him will be Kai, the maniacal striker who showed off his skills in his Bellicose debut against Robert Cap with a TKO victory in the 2nd round.  He’s a wonderful boxer, but he relies on his sensational muay thai to get the job done.  Don’t be fooled into thinking that’s all he’s got at his disposal though as he’s a superb wrestler with a brown belt in BJJ to boot.  This man will fight you anywhere, in any position, and most likely find a way to get the win.  I can’t wait to see what he has in mind for this fight.  Will he try to expose Korolev’s cutting tendency?  Will he simply look to show what he’s got on the ground?  Will he play the long game and take it to the judges, by outscoring his opponent?  He’s got options, but the one thing he can’t do is sleep on Korolev’s ability to pack a punch.

Sonny –  Alexander Korolev - a boxer who fell just short of his Olympic endeavors. Anakoni Kai - a world class MT artist who left at the pinnacle of his sport to come to Bellicose MMA. This fight is (another) great example of the skill level needed to compete in this org. The mind fuck here is the clinch artist is taller while the boxer will be looking to keep the fight at range while lacking... well... range. Neither manager is a slouch and both of these fighters are dripping in marinade so the potential here is limitless.  Both granite chins and the same age. I’m going with Anakoni Kai who should take advantage against the cage for a grind out decision.

Outlaw’s Pick – Kai wins via TKO

Sonny Says – Kai via decision

Jimmy Snuka (2-0)  vs  Butch Cassidy (3-2)

Outlaw - Well, this should be an interesting fight!  These two fighters are younger specimens who both show promise.  Snuka is a perfect 2-0 with two brutal KO’s under his belt.  He’s made his bad intentions known out of the gate and with such a balanced skillset can be a match up nightmare for anyone.  He doesn’t really stand out on paper in any one area, but is well balanced and his two KO’s show that he’s got some power behind those punches.  We’ll learn more from him in this fight as he takes on Butch Cassidy who looks to be on the up and coming path after starting his career off with two strait losses.

Cassidy has now won three in a row and this will be the youngsters Bellicose debut.   His last fight against Abul was probably his toughtest to date, where he wan a decision in a very close fight.  His most impressive win was his first win where he forced his opponent to quit the fight after a brutal beatdown.  He hasn’t really flashed the KO power, but he’s definitely shown some tenacity in the cage.  He does have a fairly strong muay thai game, but otherwise matches up pretty well with Snuka.  The biggest factor in this fight might be Cassidy’s granite chin vs Snuka’s KO power.

Sonny –  Well luckily I made my pick before I realized Outlaw here manages Butch "Project in Training" Cassidy. Cassidy is a MT specialist with a granite chin to back. Well trained, etc. Blah freakin blah the point he has everything to offer and this fight is his to lose. Jimmy Snuka is One well rounded animal, but without some specialization I think he is prime for the picking in this fight. He does come out to one of the best songs of all time but I don’t think that will garner him the victory on Friday. Snuka has the advantage in wrestling - but no takedowns shown - so we could be in for a surprise clinch violation win by Superfly but that’s it really, 1 path to victory.

Outlaw’s Pick -  Cassidy via TKO

Sonny Says – Butch Cassidy vis KO round 1 because Outlaw has no heart.

Adam East (6-2)  vs  Buster Glover (6-1)

Outlaw - Ladies and gentleman, this is going to be a hard hitting slobber knocker!  Adam East comes into this fight having focused very intensely on his boxing and is now an elite boxer.  His other skills are pretty balanced, but he towers over the boxing world with his fists.  He’s shown off that KO power in just about every fight as ever one of his wins have been via KO or TKO.  He does not leave things to the judges.  His chin has been tested a couple of times with Jake Paul being the last to get the TKO win.  But, just for note, both losses were via TKO and he’s never been put to sleep.

His opponent will be another young and impressive striker in Buster Glover.  Glover has been on a tear of late also having won 3 strait since his last loss against Sawamura via TKO.  Glover has shown to have some KO power himself but also has had his chin tested.  This will be a great fight as both guys appear to be very well matched in just about every aspect of the game from skills to style.  Do not expect this fight to go to the ground, but there is a damn good chance someone will go to sleep in this one if the ref doesn’t get there first.  But who knows, maybe one of these guys will try to change the pace and look to score points and take it the distance.  What do you think, Sonny?

Sonny Manager Scott Bandz brings war and only war with Adam East. 6 wins. 6 knockouts. He is here for blood and that’s why he fits right in here at Bellicose. East’s opponent is the very game Buster Douglas. Douglas holds a significant advantage in Muay Thai but so far he has only barely dabbled in the clinch. I will say that I noticed Adam East just gained recognition for his Olympic level boxing so it makes me think he is not looking to balance his clinch game but instead only zeroing in on the kill. I’m a little giddy.

Outlaw’s Pick – East via KO

Sonny Says -  East KO round 1

Main Card

Frank Dux (5-0)  vs  Michal Sykora (6-3)

Outlaw - Kicking off our main card we have the undefeated high riser, Frank Dux, making his Bellicose debut.  He earned the title at CDFC in his last fight there before the org closed, and now we get to witness his much anticipated Bellicose debut.  His first four fights he won via TKO before going into an all out war with the champion, Reni Manfield, for a 5 round fight where he won the belt via unanimous decision.  Sure, he would have liked a KO, but winning a title is winning a title.  Now, he will turn his focus to climbing the ranks of Bellicose.  It is worth noting that his first four fights at CDFC were at 135, but he bulked up to move up to 145 where he captured the belt.  He is now back at 135 in Bellicose where he’s been more dominate as grappler using his GnP to annihilate his opponents.  He’s not much for keeping this fight standing as his striking skills are feeble, at best.  But when he’s on the ground, he’s a machine with his sensational wrestling and brown belt.

His opponent will have a different view of the fight as he’s more known as a Muay Thai striker and prefers to keep the fight standing.  He doesn’t have any desire to go to the ground against this guy, but he’s been successful on the ground in the past as he does have two submission victories under his belt.  Sykora has never been a champion, but he was close once having lost his title shot against then champ Boris Bors.  After that tough loss, he lost again to upcoming star Mad Hatter, both via TKO.  Since, he bounced back with a huge KO via head kick over Sobhraj at Bellicose 89 and is looking for a statement win in this one over Dux.  His best bet will be using that Muay Thai and staying at range as even the clinch might be risky with Dux’ ability to drag the fight to the ground from clinch.  But, as they say, all a striker needs is that one big shot to land and it’s all over.  Sonny, what do you think?

Sonny –  Dux is an odd specimen of an MMA fighter. Mostly in that he does not train MMA, he only trains on the ground. What’s more he is never attempted a single sub with that beautiful brown belt. Instead he trains at the local college and grinds out the hours working on cardio, ground positioning and takedowns. He’s a purist at heart and you people know I love me some pure wrestlers. Sykora is no less an anomaly. He has two submission victories on his record to highlight his blue belt. I don’t freaking know. Maybe he’s in one of those gyms that hand out belts every other decade? Lately he has been seeing working his MT in the gym but without the magic takedown defense I don’t think this fight is his to control.

Outlaw’s Pick – Dux via TKO

Sonny Says – Dux - TKO via GnP round 2

Arthur Douglas (6-2)  vs  Tarik Oren (6-1)

Outlaw - This fight has me on the edge of my seat!  Douglas is the reigning Super Heavyweight champion but has stepped down to heavyweight to accept this fight against the talented Oren.  Though not for a title, as Oren is coming off a loss and it would not have been proper to move Oren up for a title shot off a loss, the champion did not bat an eye at the hungry challenger.  “The Hound” doesn’t run from fights, he runs to them just as he did against Mfer when he won the belt.

Douglas is a hard hitting, mean son of a bitch.  His sensational boxing has served him well and he’s no slouch in the Muay Thai game, and is very good at using his wrestling skills to keep fights standing where he can inflict the most damage.  He’ll look for more of the same in this one and it shouldn’t be a problem as his opponent is very similar and not known for going to the ground.

Across the cage is Oren who, on paper, is a better striker than Douglas.  He’s an exceptional boxer and sensational Muay Thai artist who loves to go for the KO.  He lost his belt to Keywon Reeves last time out, snapping his perfect 6-0 start and title run, but he was a champ for a reason.  Now, under new management, Oren will look to bounce back and prove that he’s still a championship contender.  And what better way to say that than to defeat the current Super Heavyweight champion?  Man, this fight is going to be absolute fire and I just can’t wait to see this one play out.

Sonny Arthur Douglas versus Tarik Oren... how is this not a title fight? Douglas is our current open weight champion and Oren is definitely champ caliber. This is going to be one for the ages. Both men come in heavy heavy handed and have relied on that single attribute to get them where they are today. Both come from top-tier camps although Oren’s manager was just seen crowing a world #1 P4P champ in his camp so you know the gym he is coming from is the best of the best.

When two fighters are known for their devastating power we have to wonder if there will be a slow feeling out process - and I don’t mean the kind where Bjorn gropes his fighters in the back room! This kind of fight is almost a waste of time to speculate on or overthink on too much. Whether it’s a lightening fast start and finish or a slow start with a lightening finish I think the theme is there will be a finish, damnit! Again, what do I think will happen? Someone will be slept. Removed from consciousness. We will see a distressing ending to someone’s Friday night, that I promise!

Since legally I do have to make pics I am saying fuck it and going with Douglas who has surprised me before. I vowed not to choose against that rabid manimal ever again.

Outlaw’s Pick – Oren via KO

Sonny Says – Douglas via KO round 1

Co-Main Event (Heavyweight Title Fight)

IMG-5611.gif

Keywon Reeves (6-1)  vs  Douglas Sampson (6-2)

Outlaw - And let the title fight’s begin!  We have a couple of absolute wars on top to headline this event and it starts with the heavyweight belt title between champion Reeves and challenger Sampson.  Reeves has been nothing short of spectacular having won 6 straight fights.  His manager retired after his title fight win over Tarik Oren at Bellicose 87 leaving Reeves to find himself a new manager.  New management is excited to get to work and ready to help Reeves defend his belt for the first time.  He’s a very good striker with sensational boxing and exceptional Muay Thai with a remarkable wrestling game to keep the fight where he wants it.  His 3 strait KO’s is a testament to this man’s power and all six of his wins have been via (T)KO.  He will finish this fight or go down swinging.  We just haven’t seen him go down and I don’t count his sparring bout where he lost via decision as he wasn’t trying to KO his opponent at that time.

His challenger, one Douglas “Drax” Sampson, comes from the same school of hard knocks as his teammate Arthur Douglas, the reigning super heavyweight champion.  A very similar fighting style to the champ, Sampson has wonderful boxing, sensational Muay Thai, and wonderful wrestling to keep the fight where he wants it.  Both guys like to fight, hit hard, and put opponents to sleep.  Sampson has 5 of his 6 wins coming from (T)KO and has put himself into a position to challenge for the belt.  This is going to be an absolute war, folks!  These guys are so evenly matched and such similar styles that we know what we are going to get.  Big shots, and a big finish.  This fight will not go to the ground, and someone will be put to sleep.  Both guys are power hitters and looking for the home run to walk away with the belt.  What a fucking amazing fight we are in for, and this is only the co-main event!

Sonny Just when you think the last fight featured fists a fire then we drop the co-main event of the evening on you! Another pair of heavy-handed Heavyweights, these two men think nothing of a 15 minute fight and only focus on how fast they will finish it. Reeves is a newly acquired FA picked up by the Bjorn camp and he so far, the transition between camps has been seamless. He is well trained as they come in the standup arts and holds the slight reach and boxing advantage - a great combo.

Across the cage, Sampson has the perfect build, both physically and talent wise to take the fight where he needs to become the new champ. His MT advantage and slight wrestling edge should allow the shorter fighter to control and clinch to his advantage.

Should’ve would’ve could’ve though. This fight may be over before any game plan gets implemented.

Let’s make it official - Reeves is coming off a KOTN where he handed the capable Oren his first loss ever. And you know how fighters get after those KO awards, they want more of those cookies!

Outlaw’s Pick – Reeves via KO

Sonny Says – Reeves via KO round 1

Main Event (Welterweight Title Fight)

E106-F661-83-DB-4-DE9-83-C5-1-FB035-FFE6

Kanud Odimabesser (9-1)  vs  Tim Horton (9-1)

Outlaw - How do you top a title fight like the heavyweight bout before this one?  By having two champions go at it!  Tim Horton is the middleweight champion and has dropped down to 170 to challenge for the welterweight belt.  Now, this wasn’t the original plan for Horton as he dropped down to 170 to answer the call out from rival fighter and former champ Rock Romero, but with Odimabesser taking the belt from Rock the door was open for Horton to take the title fight against him instead and he gladly jumped.  Looking to be the first two-division champion (at the same time) in Bellicose, this is an opportunity for Horton to really add to his potential HoF resume.  With sensational boxing, superb Muay Thai, and wonderful wrestling, Horton is built like most of the other fighters on this card and looking to take it to you by way of fist, foot, and looking to put his opponent to sleep with a nasty shot.  He’ll have every opportunity to do that as long as this fight stays standing.  Kanud is also very well versed on his feet, and this could be a war like many others on this card.

Odimabesser is not only a great striker with exceptional boxing and Muay Thai, he’s also a wonderful wrestler with a brown belt in BJJ.  His ground skills are not to be over looked as he’s got 3 submission wins under his belt and this man is a champion who can fight at an elite level at any stage of the game.  He’s good from range, he’s good in the clinch, and he’s good on the ground.  There is no weakness in his game and he will give everything he has to Horton to retain his belt and prevent Horton’s bid to become a multi-divisional champion.

Sonny Kanud Odimabesser. The man, the myth, the Dunmer Archer residing in the Azura's Coast region of Vvardenfell. They must have some top-notch gyms in Vvardenfell because my man Kanud is as well trained and skilled as anyone his age. He does it all - sick Ko power on the feet and dangerous subs off his back. Could we see him implement his clinch game tonight to mix it up for the fans? He’s talented everywhere so it will be a treat to find out.

Tim Horton rocks the same 9-1 record, but all of his wins have been in the feet and 7 of them (T)KOs. Manager Teyo Ken brought Horton back from the ashes and he hasn’t ever looked as good as he has in his last 3 fights - all dominant second round KOs.

Kanud is coming off an amazing sub victory his last fight where he took the arm of the previously untapped Rock Romero. I do expect Horton to have a considerably higher level of takedown defense though so I feel this fight will be decided on the feet. Kanud is still viable here with his 4 TKOs on record but Horton has surprised me before and I think he’s primed to do it again.

Outlaw’s Pick – Odimabesser via submission

Sonny Says - Horton via surprise first round TKO
