The first round has been drawn and the 25 million dollar Triple Elimination Alfred Winterbottom Invitational is now underway!

Hopefully the tournament bracket is viewable for everyone. I will update before the start of each new round so that everyone can see where they are. I can’t quite guarantee when matches will be however as I imagine we might have rounds where matchups need to happen before the next can take place. Whatever the case may be, events will be every three days from the opening round.

In the event that someone doesn’t accept the fight in time, it will go down as a loss for them and a win for the opponent that did accept.

Best of luck to you all. May the best man win

Round One

Billy Richards (Albert) 0-0 vs. Rip Dolomite (Rocket) 0-0

Berhnard River (Joe River) 0-0 vs. Antonio Darko (Rei) 0-0

Dragan Silva (Chuck) 0-0 vs. Axel Randell (Dino) 0-0

David Donowitz (Karter) 0-0 vs. Carmelo Rodgers (Crazy Horse) 0-0

Brijbhusan Siddika (Bob Slay) 0-0 vs. Pedro Araujo (Rush) 0-0

Cleba Rocha (Alfred) 0-0 vs. Adriel Orozco (Butch) 0-0

Randy Snooze (Scottie) 0-0 vs. Avital Lavi (Celtic) 0-0

Ernest Chabot (Cope) 0-0 vs. Joao Miyao (Mac) 0-0

Rick Donkulus (Jimmy) 0-0 vs. Cleetus Boone (Manne) 0-0

Jaan Mirtel (Rollins) 0-0 vs. Grappling Panda (Pika) 0-0

Some big matchups right out the gate with Dragan Silva (Chuck W94) taking on Axel Randell (Don Frye) and David Donowitz (Chris Karter) taking on Carmelo Rodgers (Crazy Horse). From what I can see, the winners of those matchups will face each other in the next round in Game 17 and the losers meeting up in the lower brackets in Game 12. This means at least one big name is going 0-2 as early as the end of Round 2.

Round 2

Cleber Rocha (Alfred) 0-1 vs. Pedro Araujo (Rush) 0-1
David Donowitz (Karter) 0-1 vs. Axel Randall (Dino) 0-1
Jaan Mirtel (Rollins) 0-1 vs. Cleetus Boone (Manne) 0-1

Randy Snooze (Scottie) 1-0 vs. Joao Miyao (Mac) 1-0
Rip Dolomite (Rocket) 1-0 vs. Antonio Darko (Rei) 1-0

So far, so simple. 10 fighters move on into the next round with all three lives whilst 10 drop into the losers brackets having lost their first match ups.

Two big match ups to look out for in round two would be Dragan Silva (Chuck) against Carmelo Rodgers (Crazy Horse) Both grapplers just had massive wins over big name managers and will now be looking to pick up their second big scalp. The winner of this one can look forward to facing the winner of Brijbhushan Siddika (Bob Slay) vs. Adriel Orozco (Butch) in Round 3.

In the losers bracket, MMAT's biggest rivalry goes grappling with David Donowitz (Karter) and Axel Randall (Dino) both fighting to not go 0-2 in just two rounds. The winner of this one will go on to face the loser of Match 15's Bernhard River (Joe River) vs. Billy Richards (Albert) meaning we could potentially see an elimination happen.

G22: Jaan Mirtel (Rollins) 0-2 vs. Avital Lavi (Celtic) 0-2
G23: Brijbhushan Siddika (Bob Slay) 1-1 vs. Bernhard River (Joe River) 1-1
G24: Carmelo Rodgers (Crazy Horse) 1-1 vs. Rip Dolomite (Rocket) 1-1
G25: Rick Donkulus (Jimmy) 1-1 vs. Ernest Chabot (Cope) 1-1

G28: Dragan Silva (Chuck) 2-0 vs. Adriel Orozco (Butch) 2-0
G29: Joao Miyao (Mac) 2-0 vs. Grappling Panda (Pika) 2-0
G30: Antonio Darko (Rei) 2-0 vs. Cleber Rocha (Alfred) 1-1

With two rounds of grappling action behind us, round three will start to see the first of the eliminations.

With the way the draw worked out, there was always going to be one top manager in this precarious position early on but I must say that I'm surprised to see the Karter stable there. His grappler David Donowitz hasn't managed to show much promise thus far and time is running out to do so. He'll face Rush Greyson protege Pedro Hemeterio De Araujo who has also fared badly so far having lost two in a row by submission.

Another guaranteed elimination will take place between Estonian submission wrestler Jaan Mirtel (Henry Rollins) and Israel's Avital Lavi (Todd Westacott). Both grapplers were somewhat competitive in their first round matchups but then put out very poor performances most recently. Now at least one of them will be going home early.

There could be an elimination is match 26 as Billy Richards (Albert Summertop) attempts to stay in the game against 1-1 Axel Randall (Don Frye). It'll be a big ask though as Richards has looked well out of his depth so far in this tournament.

The Little Death Squad alliance are in fine form with both Antonio Darko (Rei) and Joao Miyao (Mac Little) managing to go 2-0. Darko will next face 1-1 Cleber Rocha (Alfred Winterbottom) whilst Miyao will face in form Grappling Panda (Pika Choo) who is also coming in with a 2-0 record.

Rounding out the winners will be potential favourite Dragan Silva (Chuck W94) who takes on surprise package Adriel Orozco (Tycoon Judas)

The winner of G21 will move on to face the loser of G27. The loser of G21 will be eliminated

The winner of G22 will move on to face the loser of G24. The loser will be eliminated.

The winner of G23 will move on to face the winner of G25

The winner of G24 will move on to face the loser of G29

The winner of G26 will move on to face the winner of G29

The winner of G27 could either end up with a bye or facing the loser of G26 (depending on the result)

The winners of G28 and G30 will go on to face each other
