Normal MMA rules. 10 point scoring. 3x5 rounds (5x5 for final and 3rd/4th playoff). Fights will take place in the 170 lb Welterweight division. Creation weight: 174 lbs exactly (will be enforced). You may lose or gain weight after creation if you wish, but 168 lbs is the lower limit (will be enforced). Anyone breaking the weight rules will be excluded and their opponent will recieve a bye. Double elimination knockout tourney - Lose once and you get one more chance. Seeded first round (according to rank 13 Nov). 18 year old creations only. Your OWN creations (yes, we really have to put that in writing!) Testing allowed. Inactive or No Show - Anyone that doesn't accept a fight in time is out. If the opponent accepted the fight, they go through on a bye. "In time" means before the fight. If you are facing someone who has not accepted the fight, I recommend you accept and do your preparations as usual. If they don't show, then you go through. If they accept at the last minute and you didn't accept, they win. Be prepared. Longer than usual preparation - 8 weeks training before first fight. So be creative with that build! Fights will be every 2-3 weeks after that, no one will be forced to fight injured. Columbo Posted November 1, 2022 Author Report Share Posted November 1, 2022 CONFIRMED ENTRIES: Edit - I have tested the bracket creation tool, and for a double-elimination tourney 30 players is the optimum number. Edit - I have experimented more with the bracket creation tool, and found that this can work with 40 or 50 players also. Most even numbers. The only difference after 30 is that the top seeded players join in round two. Unfortunately it gives the top seeds an advantage, but this is realistic, and how it works in a number of pro sports. And let's face it, if your guy hits awesome hiddens, and you play your cards right, you could be taking out that top seed regardless. And don't forget, this is double elimination - Everyone gets a second chance. Given that our aim is to make the biggest and baddest tourney there's been for a long time, and that there seems to be a healthy amount of interest (26 sign-ups in 3 days and 9 days still to go!), I will accept all entries and see just how big this gets. Then I'll make sure there are a few substitutes, and set the player number accordingly. If we are lucky we could hit another optimum number where there is no 'preliminary round'. Then it's up to you!
